ST. LOUIS - Brian Elliott had to work overtime Saturday night and was up to the challenge.Elliott made 27 saves in his 100th game with St. Louis and stopped all three shootout attempts to lift the Blues over the Colorado Avalanche 3-2 for their fourth straight victory. We didnt want to win in a shootout, but we got it done, Elliott said. Its two big points and some more momentum to try and keep us going.Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice for St. Louis. Tarasenko has six goals, including five in his last three games. He had his first career hat trick in a 4-3 win over Dallas on Tuesday night.Tarasenko had dinner the night before with Colorado goalie Semyon Varlamov, his teammate on the Russian Olympic team. Although Tarasenko earned some bragging rights with his two goals, he was quick to point out that Varlamov had his moments as well.I was happy to score against him, but he made a good save on me in the shootout, Tarasenko said.Joakim Lindstrom scored in the shootout for St. Louis.Lindstrom played 16 games with Colorado in 2011-12 and was also familiar with Varlamov. He figured a quick shot was his best chance and he was able to beat Varlamov through the legs with a wrist shot.Hes such a good goalie, Lindstrom said. Hes so good laterally, I figured I wanted to have a quick shot instead of trying to deke him.Ryan OReilly and Nathan MacKinnon each had a goal and an assist for the Avalanche, who have points in six straight games (2-0-4). But the Avalanche were looking for more than a point.I think we played a heck of a hockey game, Matt Duchene said. It (stinks) just to be coming out of it with one point. This ones going to sting.Eric Johnson had two assists for Colorado against his former team and Varlamov stopped 27 shots.St. Louis appeared to have the game under control when Tarasenko redirected Alex Pietrangelos shot past Varlamov for his second goal 46 seconds into the third period to give the Blues a 2-0 advantage. But just 6 seconds later, Magnus Paajarvi went off for holding and OReilly made the Blues pay by putting home the rebound of MacKinnons shot on the ensuing power play to cut it to 2-1 at 2:19 of the third.Ian Cole then went off for cross-checking and the Avalanche tied the game with another power-play goal at 5:13 as MacKinnon walked in front and beat Elliott with a wrist shot.In that third, we certainly felt like we had our backs against the wall, Colorados Gabriel Landeskog said. We had to go; we didnt really have the choice to sit back and wait. We had to go and we did and the power play came out big.NOTES: OReillys goal snapped a shutout streak of 118 minutes, 52 seconds by St. Louis. ... Colorado, ranked second in the NHL in penalty killing, has killed 20 straight penalties, including three on Saturday. ... St. Louis was happy to see the calendar turn to November. The Blues are 20-5-3 in November the last two seasons. Kevin White Jersey . Kawasaki appeared in 96 games for the Blue Jays last season. He had a .229 batting average with one home run and 24 RBIs. The 32-year-old native of Kagoshima, Japan, also played 25 games for triple-A Buffalo last season. Kyle Long Youth Jersey . The 27-year-old Niskanen, the more offensive-minded of the pair of defencemen joining the Capitals, got a $40.25 million, seven-year contract. "Its a very big commitment from Washington. Thats no small thing. Youre talking a seven-year commitment for a very substantial amount of money," said Niskanen, who got married Saturday. http://www.footballbearsprostore.com/Womens-Walter-Payton-Bears-Jersey/ . Goran Dragic scored 32 points in 32 minutes and the Suns routed the Knicks 112-88 on Friday night for their season-high sixth victory in a row. Eddie Royal Womens Jersey . Providing even one proved elusive, until Friday night. The slumping Granderson grounded an RBI single to cap an improbable two-run rally with two outs in the ninth inning that sent the Mets past the Miami Marlins 4-3. Eddie Goldman Youth Jersey .C. -- Team Penske will field its current three-car lineup in IndyCar next season. MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- Rarely has tapping in a goal provided such relief for Wayne Rooney. With pressure building after a four-game England goal drought, the striker bundled the ball over the line from close range against Ecuador on Wednesday for a goal that lacked finesse or power but was a timely confidence boost ahead of the World Cup. "Its a great joy to score for England," Rooney said after the 2-2 draw at the Sun Life Stadium. "I was obviously pleased to score to get us back in the game." Rooneys 39th international goal cancelled out Enner Valencias eighth-minute header, nudging the ball over the line after Rickie Lambert hit the post. Lambert found the net himself six minutes into the second half after 20-year-old Ross Barkley weaved his way through the defence with ease. But Michael Arroyo powered in equalizer from distance in the 70th in his teams final game before playing Switzerland at the World Cup on June 15. "We have to improve aspects of our game to be ready for the start of the World Cup," Ecuador coach Reinaldo Rueda said. Both teams ended this feisty encounter with 10 men at the Sun Life Stadium after Raheem Sterling was dismissed in the 79th minute for a sliding challenge on Ecuador winger Antonio Valencia, who saw red for pushing the Englishman and going to grab his throat. The players will not be suspended for World Cup matches. "I am sorry for the fight with Sterling," Valencia said. "I apologized to the team after the match and the coach." England coach Hodgson accepted Sterlings challenge was fierce, but believes it didnt constitute a red card. "He played the ball and accelerated into the ball," Hodgson said." Im disappointed with Antonios reaction, grabbing the player." Hodgsons greater concern was midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain coming off with suspected ligament damage in his right knee -- just 10 days before Englands World Cup opener against Italy. As Hodgson tested the depth of his squad in its penultimate World Cup warm-up match, only Rooney was retained from the side that beat Peru 3-0. He featured on a team sheet that was mistakenly distributed around the stadium featuring the passport numbers oof both teams players.dddddddddddd The private English details were also tweeted out globally by an England team sponsor. After that blunder, Englands defenders responded with mishaps of their own, looking disjointed and giving the Ecuadoreans space to express themselves and unsettle their opponents. Defenders Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling allowed Enner Valencia to rise between them to meet Walter Ayovis cross with a header past Ben Foster, who was deputizing in goal for Joe Hart. There were several uneasy moments for Foster when he was exposed after racing off his line. For all the lapses at the back, England was playing with a confidence and verve at times up front that was lacking against Peru despite the margin of victory. Barkley, the England midfielder earning his fourth cap, was providing flashes of dynamism, typified by a backheel to Rooney, who could only clip the ball across the face of goal. After stand-in captain Frank Lampard tested goalkeeper Maximo Banguera with a long-range powerful strike, Rooney netted in the 29th despite being shunted out to the left wing. Meeting Alex Oxlade-Chamberlains cross, Banguera collided with his own player, and Lambert appeared to use his hand to control the ball before backheeling against the post. Rooney came close again twice before the break, stabbing the ball wide and sending a stinging strike into Bangueras hands. Like England, Ecuador also struggled to contain counterattacks while launching several of its own. Englands second goal followed a superb move. Barkley held off Frickson Erazo and Carlos Gruezo to waltz through opposition territory and set up Lambert for a powerful strike. The 32-year-old Lamberts third England goal came less than a year after making his debut. But Englands defence was breached again with a fine leveler. Just two minutes after coming off the bench, Arroyo picked up possession on the edge of the penalty area and sent it into the top corner. "A large number of the opportunities they created for themselves were when we were really attacking, we were going forward," Hodgson said. "Maybe what weve got to make certain is that we shore up a little bit behind some of these attacking movements." (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Raptors have won three straight and will look for more Wednesday night when they host the Sacramento Kings at Air Canada Centre. The Raptors have won four of the last five, but are only 1-2 in their last three at home. They hit the road for two straight following Wednesdays contest. On Tuesday, Toronto had a relatively easy time with the Indiana Pacers, winning, 104-91, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. DeMar DeRozan scored 24 points and Kyle Lowry had a solid performance in the Raptors victory. Lowry, a starting guard for the Eastern Conference All-Star team, finished with 19 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for Toronto. It takes all eyes off of me, Lowry said of what DeRozan brings to the team. It puts eyes on him too and gives me the opportunity to get some open shots. The Raptors bench was sensational and it had to be. Torontos other starters beside DeRozan and Lowry combined for 19 points. The Raptors second unit tallied 42 points. Lou Williams (14), Patrick Patterson (13) and Terrence Ross (11) led the way for the Raptors reserves. The Kings should be on game three of a five-game road trip, but Mother Nature reared her ugly head. After losing to the Golden State Warriors on Friday to begin this trek, the Kings were scheduled to visit Madison Square Garden on Monday to take on the New York Knicks. With the impending blizzard forecast, the league canceled the game and the two teams will make it up March 3. The Kings were on the wrong side of history in their loss to the Warriors. Klay Thompson turned a Kings third-quarter lead into a Golden State Warriors rout all by himself. The sharp-shooting guard set an NBA record for points in a quarter on Friday night, netting 37 of Golden States 41 in the third en route to a 126-101 Warriors blowout win over the Kings. They just kept wanting to see the show. Thats what they kept telling me, Thompson said of his teammates. Thompson, who finished with 52 points after departing at the 9:28 mark of the fourth, made all 13 of his shots in the third, with nine of them coming from beyond the arc. I was taking a lot of bad shots out there, but I was taking them until I missed, Thompson said. He broke George Gervin and Carmelo Anthonys previous mark of 33 points for a quarter. It was crazy. I dont even know what happened, Thompson said. DeMarcus Cousins tallied 28 points and 11 boards to lead the Kings, who have dropped six straight games and three in a row as the visitor. He was getting it off so quick we couldnt get any help to him, Sacramento coach Tyrone Corbin said of Thompson. The Raptors defeated the Kings by eight in Sacramento on Dec. 2 and have won two straight in this series. The Kings had won the previous four, but are just 2-8 in their previous 10 north of the border. Kevin Kurz of CSNBayArea.com says that Rick Nash would not fit in well with the San Jose Sharks. One of the big reasons is that San Jose would have to send back at least one established NHL player, and Kurz believes that there are several players whom the Sharks cannot part with. Needing "D" Tom Gulitti of NorthJersey.com says that the Devils are in the hunt for a defenceman. He nootes that with blueliners Henrik Tallinder and Adam Larsson still sidelined, the need is getting greater with the Devils in the thick of the playoff hunt.dddddddddddd Possible options include Minnesotas Marek Zidlicky, Tampas Kubina and Winnipegs Johnny Oduya. The Crosby Dilemma Shelly Anderson of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette notes that the Penguins could use some closure on Sidney Crosby. The team has been waiting - and will continue to wait - for their captain. But Anderson points out that if the team knew for sure that he would be out for the rest of the regular season, they could keep him on long-term injured reserve and then spend some of his salary cap hit to potentially acquire other players. MONTREAL -- A big, noisy dome packed with 50,229 Montreal Expos fans seemed to suit Toronto Blue Jays starter Brandon Morrow. The right-hander threw 5.2 scoreless innings and Melky Cabrera hit a two-run home run to give the Blue Jays a 2-0 victory over the New York Mets on Saturday and a sweep of their two-game pre-season series at Olympic Stadium. Four Blue Jays pitchers held New York to only two hits in a promising outing in their final exhibition game ahead of opening day next week in Tampa. "It was a lot of fun," said Morrow. "Both games were really exciting. "The crowd was into it the whole time. They did a good job of putting on these games. It was a tune-up start. There were things Ive been working on up to this point, but I tried to put it all together today." Moises Sierra was on third with two out in the eighth when Cabrera pounded an offering from lefty Adam Kolarek over the left-field wall to break a scoreless tie. Toronto (16-13 in pre-season play) had beaten the Mets 5-4 on Ricardo Nanitas ninth-inning single before 46,121 on Friday night. The Mets ended their pre-season at 14-16. New York right-fielder Curtis Granderson was impressed with the atmosphere, especially for a pre-season game. "It was loud," he said. "The Canadian fans came out in droves. "It was amazing to see all the different jerseys out there. That means baseball is alive and well in Montreal. People were looking forward, and they enjoyed these two games here. It was great. It was cool to see and to get a chance to be a part of." The games were organized mainly to show the world that Montreal wants major league baseball back. The fans response was overwhelming, with a total of 96,350 attending the two games, mostly chanting "Lets go Expos" and "We want baseball." It wasnt as joyous for one unidentified fan who suffered serious injuries Friday night when he fell from the outfield bleachers onto the stadiums concrete floor. Police ruled it an accident. Morrow, who struck out eight, is looking to rebound from an injury-plagued 2013 campaign in which he went 2-3 in only 54.1 innings. The year before, he was a 10-game winner with a 2.96 earned-run average. "Ive got a bit of a chip on my shoulder as far as that goes," said Morrow. "You dont want to be labelled as somebody injury-prone. My goal is to make every start this year. I had a positive spring, so Im feeling good about it." Aaron Loup and Steve Delabar each got a pair of outs before Aaron Sanchez closed the game out with two solid innings. Sanchez is slated to be returned to the minors, but loved the experience of doing well in a packed house. "It was crazy," said Sanchez. "This is everything Ive worked for. It gives you a little taste of it and it makes you want to come back." Manager John Gibbons is hoping his club can answer its critics with a strong season after a disappointing 2013. "We think were ready,"he said. "The guys showed up with a little different focus because of what happened last year. But last year we were getting tugged in every which direction. The media coverage was out of control. We had so many new players and everybody wanted a piece of them. Then we had the (World Baseball Classic) and that was a bit of a distraction. "This team was put together to win something and we didnt do that last year, but we all have confidence in this ball club." The Mets Daisuke Matsusaka didnt allow a run in five innings, also striking out eight but conceding five hits. The event was organized by concert promoter Evenko and the Montreal Baseball Project, headed by former Expos outfielder Warren Cromartie. John McHale Jr., an MLB vice-president whose father was the Expos original president, was impressed with the turnout. Montreal saw its team move to Washington in 2004 largely due to lack of fans. "This market had likely lost the intense enthusiasm it once had for major league baseball, so I think this requires us to recalibrate our estimation of how popular our sport might be," said McHale Jr., who added he had met with Cromartie. "Theyre in an unpredictable process with no certainty of success," he said. Cheap NFL Jerseys China . Lupul recorded his first hat trick since December 15, 2007, when he was a member of the Flyers. Its Lupuls third career hat trick and his three goals on Wednesday all came within 6:42 of each other. Gustavsson made 19 saves to moove to 4-3-0 on the season.dddddddddddd Toronto has split a pair of games on its road trip and is 3-3-0 as the visiting team this year. Meanwhile, the Blue Jackets have just two wins this season, but both of them have come over the last four games. Columbus earned two points in its most recent outing, downing the visiting Anaheim Ducks by a 3-1 score on Sunday. Rick Nash, Ryan Johansen and Fedor Tyutin each had a goal for the 2-9-1 Blue Jackets. Steve Mason needed to make just 19 saves for the win. "Tonight we got the job done, but its one game," Nash said. "Weve still only won two games this year. Were still not even anywhere close to satisfied." Both of the Jackets two victories have come in Ohio, where the club is 2-3-1 this season. Columbus is expected to have Marc Methot back tonight after the defenseman missed the last five games with a broken right thumb. The Blue Jackets won their only meeting against the Leafs last season, posting a 3-2 regulation win in Toronto. Columbus has taken two of three in the series, but Toronto has four wins over the last six encounters. The Leafs have also won their last two tests at Nationwide Arena. NEW ORLEANS - LeBron James refused let his sore left knee sideline him more than one game and returned to the starting lineup Friday night against the Pelicans.Stressing that he passed all the necessary tests during pregame warm-ups, James added, I dont like to miss any games. ... but more than anything I hate not being out there for my teammates.Kyrie Irving also was in the lineup in New Orleans despite injuring his left knee a night earlier in Oklahoma City. With James sitting out the entire game against the Thunder and Irving out for part of it, Cleveland had its eight-game winning streak snapped in a 103-94 loss.James said his knee began hurting in the second half of Clevelands victory over Toronto on Tuesday night, but he could not recall if the injury occurred on a specific play, even after reviewing game video.Cavaliers coach David Blatt said the fact that James could not figure out when the injury occurred left the club pretty confident its not an injury of a serious nature.James said the swelling worsened before he decided to sit out Thursday nights game in Oklahoma City.I didnt feel like I could give my game to my teammates like Im capable of doing, James said. If Im out, theres a real reason why Im out.James, who turns 30 on Dec. 30, said he isnt terribly interested in reducing his minutes or sitting out periodically simply for purposes of rest as long as he still feels capable of playing through pain,Ive got so much love for the game I try to give everything I can to it where I can. So when Im done and I cant play the game no more, Ill wish I got those games back, James said. But I do got to be smart sometimes rounding 30 in a couple days, so well see.Blatt also wavered when asked about the prospect of reducing playing time for James, noting that his 38 minutes per game so far this season is already more than a minute below his career average.I think were doing pretty good in that area. Obviously wed like to see him on the court for as many valuable minutes as possible each game, and where and when its possible to give him more rest, we will, Blatt said. But right now I just want to see him get healthy as quickly as possible. Thats the major thing.Irving was helped off the court Thursday night after knocking knees with Oklahoma Citys Russell Westbrook, but returned to the game.I hurt a little bit this morning, said Irving, who before the game spent several minutes sitting on the floor in front of his locker, wearing inflatable compression casts designed to improve blood circulation in ones legs.Obviously you never know what can happen in a day or so, but for me, even regardless of it hurting or not, I was going to try to give it a go, Irving said.Irving added that losing the night before had little to do with his or James motivation to return in New Orleans. They just wanted to play.We dont want to think too deeply about being worried if one person doesnt play or not. Thats just part of the game, Irving said. But as competitors, we obviously want to play for our teammates and be out there. Its not a sense of urgency or anything like that. We want to play. We want to play the game we love and thats as simple as it gets. Marcedes Lewis Youth Jersey . -- Michael Allen said it wasnt until his 15th hole that he started thinking about shooting golfs magic number of 59.There is no trophy for finishing fourth in the Premier League. Just ask Arsenal fans. However, Arsene Wenger has repeatedly told anyone willing to listen that finishing in that spot is more important than winning a cup competition. Of course, he would say that. The Gunners have not won a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup but have qualified for the Champions League for 16 years in a row. For many years, Arsenal finishing in the top four should not have been considered a success. Last March, however, Wengers men lost 2-1 at White Hart Lane to fourth-placed Tottenham and trailed their North London rivals by seven points with ten games to spare. Spurs would go on to falter, while Arsenal hit top gear, going on to maintain their qualification record for Europes elite club competition. Andre Villas-Boas team finished fifth, one point behind Arsenal for the second straight year. Over 38 matches the margin was as slim as it was painful. Tottenham became the first team in Premier League history to get to 72 points and not finish in the top four. The 1.89 points per game was their most successful season point-wise since 1967. Yet, nobody knew or cared. They had finished outside the top four, missed out on the Champions League and were about to lose their best player in Gareth Bale. Bales brilliance last season made him virtually irreplaceable. In the 17 Premier League games he scored in last season Tottenhams record was 14 wins, two draws and one loss. He was that important. However, under the guidance of new technical director Franco Baldini, Spurs had a fabulous summer in the transfer market, spending over 100 million pounds on Roberto Soldado, Etienne Capoue, Paulinho, Vlad Chiriches, Nacer Chadli, Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen. None of those players were Bale, but Bale was winning Tottenham matches last season which regularly featured players such as Scott Parker, Tom Huddlestone, Clint Dempsey and Benoit Assou-Ekotto. "We are stronger than the previous year, we had problems last year when we had a couple or replaced some key players, now we have quality in depth," said Villas-Boas after a win over Norwich earlier this season. Quality in depth has not led to an improvement so far. The 2013/14 season was supposed to be a season where Spurs fans wouldnt be reminded of the loss of Bale. Sixteen games into the Premier League season and the White Hart Lane faithful are still waiting to move on. If their Premier League campaign took a wrong turn in a recent 6-0 thumping at Man City, it officially went off the rails on Sunday when they were humiliated 5-0 at home to Liverpool. "This is a game all about the brilliance of Liverpool," preached the commentator at the conclusion of the match, and although Brendan Rodgers side performed very well, the harsh reality for Villas-Boas was his side were absolutely pathetic. Sure, Luis Suarez scored at least one goal, of his two, that few players in the game could have scored, Jordan Hendersons runs from deep terrorized Tottenhams makeshift back four and Paulinhos red card at 2-0 didnt help, but anyone who could make a claim that Tottenham didnt deserve to lose by five goals would be missing the point. They were outclassed in all departments by a Liverpool team who last season won just one game from 12 against the top six. It was an alarming defeat that even his admirers struggled to back him after. It was a minority group growing quieter by the week. By Monday morning, when he was sacked, few felt it was the wrong decision. You see, the 36-year-old does not endear himself to others. Publicly, this season he attacked his own fans, his own players and the media. When he said his team needed to be ashamed of themselves following the loss at Manchester City those in his camp could have said the language barrier may have been to blame for a misguided, harsh attack on his players. However, when he took on the teams supporters following a home win against Hull City there was nothing for his backers to hide behind. "This victory belongs to the players, they did it themselves, playing in a very difficult atmosphere, with almost no support coming. We have a wonderful set of fans but I am pretty sure they can do better and they know they can do better." It was the sort of quote, Jose Mourinho wouldnt have even got away with. It was a remarkable statement from a man who has had been at the club for less than 18 months, and achieved nothing as a manager in England. A win in the league cup a few days later, against Hull again, apparently, according to Villas-Boas, saw the fans get back to the level the manager demanded. However, football fans have long memories and the manager had picked on the wrong group. His next target was the media. After drawing 2-2 in the week, following the loss to Man City, he said: "the pressure this week was aggressive and agenda driven, (I am) very fortunate to have a group of players who responded in this manner to show the unity of the group." There is little doubt that some writers, and radio personalities, in England did not believe Villas-Boas is good enough to manage Tottenham. However, targeting certain individuals for things they wrote, online and in the newspaper, showed a touchy, oversensitive side from Villass-Boas at a time when he needed to stay away from the headlines.dddddddddddd He is not a man blessed with the charisma of Mourinho - very few are - but in his media interviews, through the directness of his answers, comes confidence and a self-assurance that would point towards not caring what others think. Yet, the current court of public opinion is England, a country, yet to be convinced by a man who Chelsea fired less than a season into the job, and easily influenced by what pundits and writers have to say. It is a battle that Villas-Boas, who was hired, for a reason, to take charge of two huge clubs in England before he turned 35, could only win by proving himself with his team. And that is where he needed to turn, to his players, to find the vindication he so clearly needed. However, the players, bankrolled by Daniel Levy, and trusted by Baldini, to deliver, so far did not perform anywhere close to the level Tottenham require and thats why Villas-Boas has lost his job. The nonsense in the media, making him bigger than the club, certainly contributed to it but ultimately he didnt get the best out of the players and the way they were humiliated at home to Liverpool is sure to send thoughts of doubt into the players mind about their manager. Once that happens, a change is necessary. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris was signed to excel behind a high back line but he repeatedly made poor judgements coming off his line and has costed the team a number of goals already this season. The 6-0 loss at the Etihad embarrassed the incredibly high line their defence play with and they were able to take seven points from a possible nine following that when they sat deeper, yet they returned to that style against Liverpool and were badly exposed in that area again. It is clear Capoue and Michael Dawson have no understanding together but the fact the manager decided that approach at the start, and stuck with it throughout the game, leaves many to question his tactical acumen. Surely, Capoue, covering for many injuries at the centre back position, would have been helped by playing closer to his goalkeeper and keeping Suarez in front of him more. Further up the pitch confusion remained. Against Manchester United, Spurs started, and finished with, three central midfielders for the first time, but Paulinhos inclusion, alongside Sandro and Moussa Dembele, was merely to play off the front striker, pushing the wingers slightly deeper in a formation that could be labelled 4-4-1-1. That is how he began the match against Liverpool, but by the time Paulinho was sent off, he had gone from being the most attack-minded central midfielder to the deepest holding midfielder behind Lewis Holtby and Chadli, after Sandro left through injury and the ineffective Dembele was substituted. Paulinho is one of the clubs best players and his manager needed to decide whether he is best suited as an attacking midfielder, like he played at Corinthians, or as a defensive midfielder, sitting deeper and making occasional runs forward, like he does for Brazil. Spurs could have played a midfield three the way Liverpool did - having one holder and two runners in front of him - but that requires their wide players to perform and this season this has not been a strong point for Tottenham. In Soldado, they have signed a player who scored all of his La Liga goals last season in the penalty box. He needs service. He is certainly culpable for the clubs issues in front of goal as well, but Villas-Boas system did not get the best out of his wide players with many cutting in too often, and those staying out wide delivering far too many poor crosses. It is easy to point to the many shots on goal and the brilliant performances of David De Gea and Tim Krul, in particular, to deny them in recent matches but there is a glaring issue with their unity in attack. Too many goals have come from long-range shots, errors by their opponents or penalty kicks and too few have come from moves created by themselves. The Villas-Boas high defensive line has some strengths but the fact is he has just 22 clean sheets in 81 Premier League games as a manager. Games come thick and fast this time of year and we are less than two weeks away from the Premier League season being half over. Villas-Boas ran out of time to find a system and style of play that can get the best out of his players. On Sunday he disagreed, saying: "I do not need to convince anybody, our run in the other competitions have been magnificent, our form in the Premier League is not there but our ambition to win trophies is still the same, the ambition to qualify for the Champions League is still the same." It turned out beating up on the likes of Aston Villa, Hull (on penalties), Anzhi, Tromso and some team called Sheriff meant little at this time. A trophy for the fans would be great but at the moment many of those matches have become an inconvenience where the form simply does not translate to the league. Finishing fifth last season, and not fourth, denied Villas-Boas a real European theatre to perform, allowing him time to get over any issues he has domestically. There is no trophy for finishing fourth in the Premier League. But there is little doubt it offers a manager real security. Just ask Arsene Wenger. CHICAGO -- The Washington Nationals are pulling out dramatic wins. They wouldnt mind a breather, though. Adam LaRoche homered and matched a career-high with four hits, and the Nationals again rallied late against Kerry Wood and Carlos Marmol, scoring five runs in the eighth to beat the Chicago Cubs 7-4 on Saturday. "We dont want to be in that position every single game," said Danny Espinosa, who homered in the eighth. "We want to fight, try to jump out early and hopefully get the lead. Its nice to know that we have the ability to come back, we dont die, we continue to fight." LaRoche drove a two-run shot off Matt Garza in the fourth. The Cubs chased Gio Gonzalez with three in the bottom half to go up 4-2. But Washington sent up 11 batters in the eighth and hammered Wood (0-1) and Marmol again after they faltered in a 2-1 loss on Thursday. Danny Espinosa started the winning rally with a two-out solo homer to left in the eighth on the 10th pitch he saw from Wood, who walked three straight to force in the tying run in the opener. Marmol came on after back-to-back singles by Ryan Zimmerman and LaRoche but fared no better after taking the loss on Thursday. He immediately walked Jayson Werth to load the bases before giving up a two-run single to Chad Tracy, putting Washington up 5-4. Roger Bernardina then doubled in Werth, and Marmol left to loud boos after Wilson Ramos walked. Shawn Camp then gave up an RBI infield single to Steve Lombardozzi, who led off the inning with a ground out, before retiring Ian Desmond on a fly to right to end the inning. Ryan Mattheus (1-0) got the win. Henry Rodriguez struck out three in the ninth, and four relievers combined to shut out the Cubs over the final 5 1-3 innings after Gonzalez struggled. An All-Star and 16-game winner last season, he gave up four runs, seven hits and three walks in 3 2-3 innings. "I was in the strike zone," Gonzalez said. "I was making these guys swing the bat. If I could go back, I wouldnt change a thing I did today." Matt Garza pitched five-hit ball over six innings, but Wood and Marmol wasted another solid start after Ryan Dempster shut down Washington in the opener. "Its been two games," Marmol said. "You cant be frustrated." While Marmol asked for patience, Garza defended his teammates. "Those two guys have done it before, and they know tomorrows another day," Garza said. One thing that did bother him was LaRoches homer halfway up the right-field foul pole to give the Nationals a 2-1 lead, and Garza vented in the dugout between innings. He was angry at himself for missing his spot with that pitch. LaRoches big day certainly was a good sign for the Nationals, considering he hit just .172 with three homers in 43 games last year before undergoing season-ending surgery on his left shoulder after signing with Washington. How well he rebounds could go a long way toward determining if this team makes the playoffs. The Nationals believe they have enough pitching, but the offence is a bit of a question mark. "One of those days where a lot of things went right for us," LaRoche said. "We fought hard and there was never a point in the game where we thought we were thinking we have to do it right now. We were relaxed and knew we would get it going eventually." NOTES: 1B Bryan LaHair, who pinch hit for Garza, was out of the lineup for the second straight game because of a minor back issue. He is expected to start on Sunday. Jeff Baker got the nod at first again in his place. ... The Cubs selected veteran right-hander Rodrigo Lopezs contract from Triple-A Iowa and outrighted infielder Luis Valbuena to the minor league club. ... Nationals 1B-OF Michael Morse travelled to New York Saturday for back treatment and is expected to return to Double-A Harrisburg to finish his rehab. Morse is eligible to be activated from the 15-day disabled list on April 10 while the Nationals are visiting the New York Mets. ... Jordan Zimmermann starts Sunday for Washington, with Jeff Samardzija pitching for the Cubs. Zimmermann was 8-11 with a 3.18 ERA in 26 starts in his first year back from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow before getting shut down. This will be the sixth career start for Samardzija after spending four seasons in the bullpen. Nelson Agholor Womens Jersey . According to a report from the Los Angeles Daily News, the veteran point guard participated in a non-contact practice Thursday and expects to suit up Friday against the Washington Wizards.NASHVILLE -- Facing an early deficit, Nashville turned the game around with its power play. Patric Hornqvist scored with the man-advantage at 13:56 of the third period to lift the Predators to a 3-2 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night. Matt Cullen and Roman Josi also scored power-play goals to help Nashville snap a three-game losing streak. The three man-advantage goals were a season high for the Predators. Nashville entered Thursday with the NHLs seventh-best power play. "The power play was really huge, but our 5-on-5 play was strong," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. "We gave up seven shots in the last two periods and that includes a couple of power plays that they had." Martin St. Louis had both goals for the Lightning, losers of three of their last four. With time winding down in the final period, Hornqvist collected the rebound of Mike Fishers shot and slipped it by Tampa Bay goaltender Ben Bishop. "It hit the heel of my stick, and then I dont know if I got a whack on it on the rebound, too," Hornqvist said. "Its nice to see that it finally went in. Thats how I have to play every single night to be effective." St. Louis opened the scoring at 5:26 of the first period. Ondrej Palat carried the puck from the left boards into the slot, where he sent a backhand off the left post. St. Louis was parked in front of the Nashville goal to tap home the rebound. Less than four minutes later, St. Louis struck again. With the Lightning on a power play, St. Louis wrist shot from the right faceoff dot hit Nashville goaltender Carter Hutton in the chest, fell to the ice, and tricklled across the goal line.dddddddddddd. Hutton is 7-2-2 in his last 11 games. Since scoring a career-best four times in Tampa Bays Jan. 18 game against San Jose, St. Louis had not scored a goal, a stretch of nine games. He also was pointless in five games for Team Canada in their gold medal-winning performance at the Sochi Olympic Games. "Our 5-on-5 play was horrendous," St. Louis said. "Our battle level was very low. Youve got to grind it out in this league, and we didnt do that." After getting nine shots on goal in the first, Tampa Bay managed just four in the second and three in the third. "It was disgracefully embarrassing, thats what that game was," Lightning coach Jon Cooper said. "Two periods, really, really disappointed. Seven shots in the last two periods?" Cullen struck at 12:05 of the second. Ryan Ellis skated the puck into the right circle, where he faked a shot and found Cullen at the back door for an easy tap-in. Josi tied the game 1:11 later on another power-play goal when the Swiss Olympian ripped a slap shot from the left faceoff dot over Bishops left shoulder. E-mail Hockey Insider Darren Dreger and hell answer your emails at dregereport@tsn.ca! Hey Darren, I heard you talking about the possibility of the GMs talking about Phillys counter to Tampas 1-3-1 in their next meeting. What do you think will be the starting point of that conversation and how could it play out? James,Victoria A: James, I have no doubt NHL general managers will discuss the 1-3-1 at length when they meet Tuesday in Toronto. However, discussion and embracing change or new legislation are two very different things. Admittedly, it was jarring to see the Philadelphia Flyers stop cold in their zone to offset the Lightnings reluctance to fore-check, but the 1-3-1 isnt new. Philadelphia has had success against it before, as have other teams, and it will be hard to develop a rule change to eliminate it. As my colleague Bob McKenzie found out in a flash poll involving the majority of NHL GMs, opinion on this issue varies. Some managers caution change based on the admission most teams play a 1-3-1 in some form and dont want to sound the alarm bells based on one game and the ground swell of reaction. Others fully support the need for discussion given the fact the NHL is an entertainment business and will argue what the hockey world witnessed on Wednesday was far from entertaining. Its hard to guess how this will play out, although based on the feedback received in the past couple of days, I suspect little if anything will be done…at least on the short term. Pekka Rinne signed a seven-year, $49 million deal last week. Does this set any sort of precedent for Carey Price? Jen,Toronto A: Jen, its very likely Rinnes contract will be introduced as a comparable when negotiations on a new contract for Price commence in spring. However, like most negotiations enormous contracts like Rinnes are used as threshold examples but can quickly be brought down to a more team friendly average with lower paid goalies thrown into the mix as well. Both Price and Rinne are elite goaltenders. Rinne is considered a late bloomer, drafted in the 8th round of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, while Price, whose five years younger, was selected 5th overall in 2005 and quickly anointed the next great Habs goalie. At the moment, Rinne is the better of the two, although the Predators are clearly on a roll and in Shea Weber and Ryan Suter, possess two of the most dominant defencemen in the NHL. The Montreal Canadiens continue to struggle with consistency, so while Price may double the $2.75 million hes currently earning, as a restricted free agent next summer, its unlikely Montreal will have to climb into Rinne territory to get a deal done. Ken Hitchcock was rumoured to be in waiting to replace Scott Arniel in Columbus. Is the leash on Arniel and Howson llonger than most of us think? Kent,London, Ontario A: Kent, "rumoured" is the operative word.dddddddddddd Hitchcock was on the Blue Jackets payroll and was asked to work with their AHL team as well as scout a number of the opposing teams Columbus faced. Hence, he was visible and because of teams horrendous start, it was easy to leap to the possibility of a coaching change. However, if returning Hitchcock to the Blue Jackets bench was a possibility, why would the organization grant the St Louis Blues permission to speak to and ultimately hire the veteran coach? Obviously, Columbus is a hot spot right now and both Howson and Arniel are in jeopardy of losing their jobs. However, as of today (Friday), Howson says its "status quo" in Columbus which means our game by game watch continues. Dregs, is it time for the Leafs to start shopping for a backup goalie? Are they even considering it? Danny,Toronto A: Danny; like most scenarios, Im sure Torontos management team has discussed the possibility. That said, the Maple Leafs have yet to hit a skid and while both Jonas Gustavsson and Ben Scrivens struggled this week in losses to Boston and Florida, both have also been very solid in relief of the injured James Reimer. Reimer is expected to return to the ice soon according to his agent, Ray Petkau. When he does, Toronto will have a tough decision to make. Does Ben Scrivens get sent down after a stellar performance in a shootout victory over the St Louis Blues or is Scrivens a better option to push Reimer as the Leafs back up? If Toronto decides to keep Scrivens, Gustavsson becomes a spare part with trade or waivers and the potential for AHL assignment a possibility. Hello Mr. Dreger, I have been wondering a lot about the status of Evgeni Nabokov, while it is almost a sure bet he will be dealt will the Isles deal him sooner rather than later or might they keep him longer in a attempt to up his value by playing him more and hoping he gets on a hot streak? What is the market for Nabby like right now and where do you think he might end up, and will it happen sooner or closer to the deadline? George, Regina Saskatchewan A: George; on Thursday night, speculation suggested the Columbus Blue Jackets were closing in on a deal with the Islanders for Nabokov. However, both teams quickly squashed that rumour. There is a market for Nabokov, but he does have a no-trade clause and the reality is goaltending and defence have been the two most consistent elements of the New York Islanders game. Isles GM Garth Snow is among the more active managers when it comes to initiating or participating in trade discussions, but its still a tad too early to part with an asset that could fetch more in return later in the season. CLEVELAND -- Not even word that pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez had passed his physical could put a smile on Manny Actas face Sunday afternoon. Clevelands manager had just watched his team lose 5-3 to Kansas City, which completed a 2-6 homestand and dropped the Indians 2 1/2 games behind Detroit in the AL Central. "To lose three series in a row in front of our own fans is very disappointing," Acta said. The fact Saturdays blockbuster trade with Colorado was official, giving the Indians an ace pitcher at the top of their rotation, was the only good news Acta got all week. Clevelands two wins on the homestand came on ninth-inning rallies. Rookie Jason Kipnis first major league hit drove in the winning run for a victory over Los Angeles on Monday and Matt LaPortas three-run homer capped a comeback in Saturdays victory over Kansas City. Other than that, the homestand was entirely forgettable. The Indians were no-hit by the Angels Ervin Santana and committed five errors on Wednesday. Cleveland suffered a 12-0 loss against the Royals on Friday. The Indians were outscored 33-15, which doesnt bode well considering they open a seven-game trip to Boston and Texas that begins Monday night in Fenway Park. "We didnt swing the bats very well this homestand," designated hitter Travis Hafner said. "Were going to have to score more runs on this trip because were playing good offensive teams. We have to start playing better to help out confidence." Acta realizes the upcoming trip could be the defining moment of the season. "Weve got to go on the road and battle now," he said. "Were going to play two very good teams." Clevelands latest loss came at the hands of an emergency starter. Danny Duffy, starting for the injured Kyle Davies, pitched into the sixth inning and Jeff Francoeur and Alex Gordon homered for Kansas City, sending the Indians to their eighth loss in 10 games. The last-place Royals have won eight of 12. Fausto Carmona (5-11) allowed four runs in 7 1-3 innings. The right-hander has one win since June 15 and Acta was less than enthusiastic about the outing. "Hes throwing well," Acta said. "Thats all Im going to say. Ive seen him and a couple of our guys put together six or seven good ones and go back. I dont want to swallow my words. Hopefully, he gives us a chance to win every five days." Duffy (3-4) allowed two runs in five innings, giving up eight hits and striking out six. He also picked two runners off first. Davies was scratched about an hour before game time because of the sore right shoulder thats bothered him for most of the season. Joakim Soria, who failed to hold a ninth-inning lead in Saturdays 5-2 loss, recorded his 20th save in 26 chances. Asdrubal Cabrera drew a one-out walk, but Carlos Santana hit into a game-ending double play. Jimenezs physical took place Sunday at the teams spring training facility in Goodyear, Ariz. The Rockies will receive four minor leaguers -- pitchers Alex White and Joe Gardner, first baseman Matt McBride and a player to be named, who is expected to be pitcher Drew Pomeranz. Acta said Jimenez will join the team in Boston. His first start will come against the Rangers. Kipnis hit his first career home run for the Indians in the fifth. Cabrera doubled and scored on Santanas RBI triple. Hafner had an RBI groundout in the eighth as a pinch-hitter. NOTES: RHP Mitch Talbot was activated from the disabled list and designated for assignment to make room for Jimenez on the 40-man roster. Another move will be made when Jimenez joins the team to put him on the 25-man roster. ... OF Shin-Soo Choo (broken thumb) will accompany the Indians on their road trip that begins Monday in Boston. He will begin taking batting practice this week. Choo was hit by a pitch on June 24 ... The Indians called up INF Jason Donald to take the roster spot of INF Orlando Cabrera, who was traded to San Francisco on Saturday. Donald started at third base. ... Royals C Matt Treanor was placed on the seven-day concussion list after he was knocked unconscious in a collision at home plate with LaPorta on Saturday. Im going to largely ignore his contributions on the power play because its not in any dispute that Ovechkin is great with the man advantage and can make a difference even when he doesnt score. http://www.rosheoneflores.es/nike-roshe-one-azul.html .com) - Jameel McKay tied his career-high of 15 points and also had seven rebounds and three blocks off the bench as No. Nike Roshe One Blancas Hombre . Nike Roshe One Blancas Mujer .The Knicks fell 101-91 to the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, giving New York its longest in-season skid in the proud franchises 69-year history.EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Eli Manning participated with the first-team offence Thursday at the New York Giants organized team activity, showing no signs of the ankle surgery he underwent nearly two months ago. "I feel like I can do almost anything football related," said Manning, who took most of the snaps during the workout. "Im not going to take any time off. This is the second day, and I want to see how its responding. There is no swelling, no discomfort, no issues. Im able to go about my business." Manning had ankle surgery in early April after enduring the worst season of his 10-year NFL career. He threw 27 interceptions with just 18 TDs and was sacked a career-high 39 times. The Giants finished 7-9. The ankle bothered Manning for most of the season and knocked him out of the final game against the Washington Redskins, the first time Manning went to the sideline because of an injury in his career. "My goal was always to be back for the OTAs," Manning said. "The doctors said that I needed seven weeks after surgery. They didnt tell me that I wouldnt be ready, but I had it in my mind that I should be ready. After three weeks, I knew I was feeling pretty good." The Giants are installing a new version of the West Coast offence under the guidance of new offensive co-ordinator Ben McAdoo. "It has been a learning experience for me and for everyone, learning the new offence," Manning said. "I like it. Everything about it makes sense. Weve made some good plays over the last two days. Its still the early stages, but I like where were headed." Giants coach Tom Coughlin isnt surprised by Mannings progress. "When he first started, we tried to slow him down," Coughlin said. "But he wants to go. We thought the progress would be slow, but hes so far ahead. There may be a day where hes a little sore, but he hasnt shown it yet. " Manning believes that he made the right decision having the surgery. "It feels a lot better than it did," Manning said. "Its why we went ahead and hhad the surgery.dddddddddddd Theres no discomfort. Im running and doing drills. I dont want to have to worry about the ankle. I thought I might miss some time, but I didnt want to. "After a while, I was able to do certain things without pain. After three weeks, I was able to do about 15 to 20 drops and I felt good. I thought I could be here. I wanted to be smart and not rush it if I wasnt ready. The goal now is not to have any setbacks. Ill continue to monitor it, rehab it. I still have some work to do." Hes not the only Giant player making a comeback from surgery. Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul spent the off-season rehabbing a shoulder injury after back surgery last June. Having lost 20 pounds down to 275, Pierre-Paul feels fit and ready to return to his All-Pro status. "I feel great," said Pierre-Paul, who had only two sacks in 11 games last season. "Nothing is bothering me. Its all behind me. I know I wasnt at 100 per cent last year. Its a new season, a team with a lot of new faces. Im ready to go out there and show everyone what I can do." Running back David Wilson had neck surgery after the first-round pick out of West Virginia played five games in 2013, collecting only 146 yards. Doctors said at the time that his surgery was possibly career-threatening. "The doctors are worried about me bumping into someone or falling down," said Wilson, who is still prohibited from enduring any contact until his next MRI on Wednesday. "I feel great, but its out of my hands. I just have to rest." Wilson participated in some light drills Thursday. "Hes out there running and hes looking good," Coughlin said of Wilson. Safety Stevie Brown, who had left knee surgery last fall after tearing it in preseason, wore no brace. "One of the first things I did when I first started rehab was not having to rely on any brace," said Brown, who was second in the NFL in interceptions with eight in 2012, before missing all of last season. "I did things slowly without a brace." NFL Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Authentic Wholesale NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys Deals Wholesale Stitched Jerseys ' ' '

THUMBS UP Thumbs up to Dominik Hasek, Mike Modano, Peter Forsberg, Rob Blake, Bill McCreary and the late Pat Burns, the Hockey Hall of Fames Class of 2014, and thumbs down to any Hockey Hall of Fame debates … for the time being, at least. It is the right time to celebrate the achievements of six great men, and it is the wrong time to wonder who got snubbed this time, or who should or shouldnt be elected in 2015 and beyond. The HHOF will never escape controversy. It benefits from all the talk that accompanies the decisions of its selection committee, and there certainly wouldnt be as much talk if some of those decisions werent questioned. But nothing should get in the way of the celebration that is Hockey Hall of Fame weekend. Celebrate the people, their families, and their accomplishments and contributions to the game of hockey, and use them to remember again what hockey means to those who love it. Hockey Hall of Fame arguments? Some other time. THUMBS DOWN My thumb is down to the NHL for continuing to hold its nose when a shootout takes place. It probably prefers to break the nose of anyone bold enough to suggest that the shootout adds to the entertainment of a hockey game that might otherwise have been lacking in that department. NHL general managers are set to discuss again the merits of adding a 3-on-3 overtime component in an effort to reduce the number of games decided via shootout. Okay, Im fine with that. But there will still be shootouts and the NHL will continue to decry their value. Imagine a restaurant praising its main courses and apologizing for its dessert menu. The alternative, which would be more consistent if less sensible, would be to eliminate the shootout entirely and return to the days of the old-fashioned, boring tie. And if the NHL is not prepared to do that, it should embrace the shootout. One or the other - is that asking too much? ORLANDO, Fla. -- Eric Winston was elected president of the NFL Players Association on Wednesday, three years after he was active for the union during the lockout. The 30-year-old offensive lineman was the Arizona Cardinals starting right tackle last season, his eighth in the league. He is currently a free agent. Winston succeeds Domonique Foxworth as NFLPA president. Foxworth was out of the league last season and so could not seek re-election. NFLPA Executive Director DeMaurice Smith tweeted: "Thank you to @Foxworth24 and all the Executive Committee for their leadership. Congratulations to Eric Winston. Lots of great work ahead." The other candidates for president were New Orleans Saints tight end Ben Watson and former Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark, who is a free agent. Watson and Clark will both serve on the executive committee elected later Wednesday by the unions board of representatives. Clark joined Lorenzo Alexander and Jay Feely of the Cardinals, Zak DeOssie and Mark Herzlich of the Giants, Adam Vinatieri of the Colts, and Scott Wells of the Rams as new members of the executive commiittee.dddddddddddd Watson, Matt Hasselbeck of the Colts, and free agent Brian Waters were re-elected. Saints quarterback Drew Brees stepped down from the executive committee. Winston has played for Houston, Kansas City and Arizona since being chosen by the Texans in the third round of the 2006 draft. He played his first six NFL seasons with the Texans, joined the Chiefs in 2012, then moved to the Cardinals last season. Winston has started 112 consecutive games. He has served on the unions committees for finance and agent discipline and does community work on behalf of Shriners Hospital for Children. Winston was elected as a co-alternate union representative by the Texans in 2010. While in Kansas City, he drew plenty of national attention early in the 2012 season, when he criticized Chiefs fans who cheered when the teams then-quarterback, Matt Cassel, got a concussion during a game. BATON ROUGE, La. -- Desperate for a late score to keep Florida alive, Tyler Murphy dropped back, only to be enveloped in a swarm of purple and gold. First came a sack by LSU safety Jalen Mills for a loss of 12 yards to force a fourth-and-27, and then another sack and strip by linebacker Kendell Beckwith all but sealed the game. The 17th-ranked Gators came to Death Valley hoping to establish themselves as the team to beat in the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference. Instead, they left with a 17-6 loss to No. 10 LSU on Saturday which exposed some problems with Floridas pass protection. LSU "had too many free runners at the quarterback," Florida coach Will Muschamp said after watching Murphy take four sacks and release numerous inaccurate passes under duress. "There was too much pressure. Weve got to protect (Murphy) better." Murphy blamed himself. "It is definitely frustrating when you have a guy (open) down field and you cant (get the ball) to him," Murphy said. "I really have to work on getting rid of the ball quicker." Murphy got off to an encouraging start against LSU, connecting on a couple of high-percentage throws, showing his elusiveness when he was nearly sacked and converting four first downs. That set up Francisco Velezs 44-yard field goal to give the Gators a 3-0 lead. The next two drives didnt go nearly as well, amounting to minus-4 yards as LSU forced a pair of three-and-outs, and Micah Eugene pulled down Murphy for his first sack. Meanwhile, LSU (6-1, 3-1) strung together touchdown drives of 70 and 62 yards, gashing the Gators highly rated defence for several passing plays covering more than 20 yards. The scores came on 1-yard TD runs by fullback J.C. Copeland and reserve freshman quarterback Anthony Jennings. Florida (4-2, 3-1) entered the game giving up averages of only 217 yards and 12.2 points per game. LSU gained 200 yards and scored 14 points in the first half. "You can call whatever defence you want to call, kids have got to get off blocks and make a play," Muschamp said of his defence. "Our guys have got to accept that." Florida made it a one possession game on Velezs second field goal, a 27-yarder that cut it to 14-6 with 12:11 to go. The Tigers responded by going to Jeremy Hill, who carried four times for 45 yards -- including a gain of 26 yards to the Florida 19 -- to set up Colby Delahoussayes 31-yard field goal with 7:58 left. Needing two scores, Florida started to gamble. On fourth-and-5 from the Gators 30, punter Kyle Christy converted a fake, hitting Demarcus Robinson over the middle for a 14-yard gain. Murphy then converted a fourth-and-9 with a 15-yard pass to Ahmad Fulwood at the LSU 20. Thats when the Tigers put the game out of reach with consecutive sacks. "We can win all different types of games," Hill said. "We can win shootouts or we can win tough, physical ground it out kind of games." Hill rushed for 121 yards on 19 carries, carrying the load on a day when the Tigers passing offence was not its usual prolific self. LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger finished with 152 yards on 9-of-17 passing, hitting Jarvis Landry four times for 58 yards and Odell Beckham Jr. twice for 47 yards. "Its frustrating, but you have to give them credit, too," Florida defensive lineman Damien Jacobs said. "It is LSU, and Jeremy Hill is the running back. Hes physical, and he has all the intangibles it takes." The Gators also apparently caught LSUs defence at the wrong time. The Tigers had given up 44 points in a loss at Georgia and 23 points in the first half a week ago at Mississippi State, but have now gone six quarters without giving up a touchdown. "The more time we are getting together with this defence, the better we are becoming," said defensive end Jermauria Rasco, who assisted on one of LSUs eight tackles behind the line of scrimmage. "It is just taking some time and I think the evidence is there now." Florida wound up being the first LSU opponent this season to be kept out of the end zone. Markus Golden Womens Jersey . LOUIS -- Bosnia-Herzogovina made its second appearance in St. Louis in six months. This time, it gave its large, raucous local fan base plenty to cheer about. Edin Dzeko scored both goals in a 2-1 victory over Ivory Coast on Friday night in the run-up to the countrys first World Cup appearance. "We knew they were going to be a powerful team with good pace and they showed that," goalkeeper Asmir Begovic said. "It was a good test for us to play against a good team and we enjoyed it." Its estimated more than 30,000 Bosnians relocated to St. Louis from the former war-torn Yugoslavia, and the games have provided an opportunity to display national pride. Argentina shut out the national team 2-0 in November across downtown at Busch Stadium. "It was the engagement, Im happy with the way they were involved in the game," coach Safet Susic said through an interpreter. "The last time they left disappointed, not in the result, in the way they played." Long-time Ivory Coast standout Didier Drogba scored on a free kick in the 91st minute. The 36-year-old Drogba did not start but had another good scoring chance after entering in the second half. "The coach needs to see everyone before he makes his decisions," Drogba said. "I feel good. I was working out, I was injured a few weeks ago and I worked hard to come back to fitness. Im pretty happy with what Im doing at the moment." Drogba was almost apologetic about getting the free kick, said it was "not a good reason." The attendance was 14,101, less than half thee turnout for the Argentina match and more than 50,000 shy of capacity at the Edward Jones Dome while the Cardinals-Giants game was sold out.dddddddddddd Virtually all of the fans were near field level and Bosnian supporters concentrated behind the net defended by team in the first half did their best to make up for the low numbers, chanting and singing songs to an incessant drum beat. Fans hurled numerous smoke bombs and some flares, too, in the vicinity of Ivory Coast goalkeeper Sylvain Gbouhouo in the second half. Gbouhouo tossed them aside when he had the chance while clouds accompanied by an acrid odour hung over the pitch. "It is something which is normal for us, for our supporters," Susic said. "We have had more." A grass field at the dome, where the Rams play on field turf, was installed earlier in the week for the game. Crews began digging it out a little more than an hour after the game ended. Dzeko, a striker for Manchester City and Bosnias top offensive threat, scored 10 of the countrys 30 goals in World Cup qualifying. Dzeko had an empty net in the 17th minute after an Ivory Coast defender blocked a shot by Zvjezdan Misimovic. He corralled a hard pass from Miralem Pjanic in the 53rd minute and scored just inside the left post. Bosnian forward Vedad Ibisevic, who played at Saint Louis University, was a reserve and entered in the 60th minute. Susic said Ibisevic didnt start because he didnt want two offensive players at forward. Next week, Bosnia plays Mexico in Chicago and Ivory Coast plays El Salvador in Frisco, Texas. BARCELONA, Spain -- Cristiano Ronaldo scored two long-range goals to help Real Madrid rout Osasuna 4-0 on Saturday and stay in the Spanish league title chase while resting several first-choice players for its European clash at Bayern Munich. With Gareth Bale recovering from the flu and Karim Benzema on the bench, all of Madrids attack went through Ronaldo on the left flank. And the Ballon dOr winner didnt disappoint by unleashing two similar blasts after cutting inside to put the ball on his right boot and lift his league-leading tally to 30 goals through 35 rounds. Madrid provisionally closed to within three points of leader Atletico Madrid before it visits Valencia on Sunday, when Barcelona, one point behind Madrid, hosts Villarreal. Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti also gave valuable rest to defender Pepe and midfielder Xavi Alonso to prepare for its visit to Bayern on Tuesday in the second leg of their Champions League semifinal. Madrid won the first leg 1-0. "Everything he tried turned out well for us," Ancelotti said about Ronaldo. "We could rest some players and played a good game, even if it wasnt a very intense one." Elsewhere, Getafes 1-0 win over Malaga condemned last-place Real Betis to relegation even before it fell 1-0 at home to Real Sociedad, while Rayo Vallecano scored three times in the second half for a 3-0 win at 10-man Granada. Osasuna lined up to provide Madrid a guard of honour before the match as the hosts paraded their recently won Copa del Rey trophy at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Ronaldo then went to work chalking up his 29th league goal in the sixth minute when he unleashed a trademark blast from outside the area that took a slight deflection off defender Damia Abella before falling just inside the far upright. He looked to get his teammates involved, and set up scoring chances for Sergio Ramos, Marcelo and Alvaro Morata. But it fell to Ronaldo to start the second half as he had the first, with Osasunas outclassed defence letting him again dribble to near the elbow of the area before he launched a shot into the top corner of the net in the 52nd. "Both goals came at the start of each half and that complicated things for us," Osasuna coach Javi Gracia said. "They are both more merit of Ronaldo than my defences fault. Its true Damia touches the first strike and that gives it an effect, but the second shot is unstoppable." Sergio Ramos headed in a third goal in the 60th and Ronaldo went to the bench seconds later to an ovation from the crowd. Dani Carvajal headed home Isco Alarcons lobbed pass to cap the lopsided victory in the 83rd. Osasuna, which lost Raoul Loe and Emiliano Armenteros to injuries, remained three points above the relegation zone along with Getafe. Forward Adrian Colunga scored what proved to be the winner seven minutes into the game at Getafe from a pass by Ciprian Marica, who left his side a man down from the 37th for a second yellow card. But Malaga couldnt take advantage of the extra man and itself lost a player when Marcos Angeleri was sent off for a second booking in the 76th. "This victory is huge," Getafe coach Cosmin Contra said. "You saw team spirit today. We are still alive." Sociedad added to Betis misery by winning thanks to Carlo Velas 54th-minute penalty kick after Juan Carlos Perez fouled him in the area. Sociedad strengthen its hold on sixth place and cemented its Europa League berth for next season. Rayo rose into ninth place with only one loss in its last 10 matches. Rayo held Granada in check in the first half before Yacine Brahimis dismissal for a second yellow card in the 51st turned the match in the visitors favour. All the matches observed a minute of silence before kickoff for Barcelonas former coach, Tito Vilanova, who died on Friday after a battle with cancer. NFL Jerseys Cheap . Cheap Jerseys . Johnny Cueto pitched seven sharp innings, Toronto native Joey Votto hit a tiebreaking single in the eighth and the Reds beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 3-2 on Tuesday night.SEATTLE -- Garrett Richards walked two batters in the first inning. He pitched out of a jam in the third with runners on second and third. He overcame errors and walks thanks to double plays and strikeouts. On a night the only offensive punch for the Los Angeles Angels came off the bat of Albert Pujols, it was Richards making sure those two runs stood up. Pujols homered for the second straight game while Richards and two relievers combined on one-hitter as the Angels beat the Seattle Mariners 2-0 on Wednesday night. "Just with experience I think the game has slowed down for me and so its basically just come down to me executing pitches," Richards said. Pujols hit a two-run homer in the third off Seattle starter Roenis Elias (0-1). Richards (2-0) threw seven shutout innings. Abraham Almonte was the only Seattle batter to reach via hit when he singled in the third inning. Richards walked three batters and the Angels committed two errors, but struck out six. "Confidence is high. And I think that when youre confident youre pretty comfortable youre going to make those pitches at the very least," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said. "I think thats the next step Garrett has taken. I think hes getting to know his stuff better." The pitching effort was needed after the Angels had been knocked around by Seattle, getting outscored 31-11 in losing the first four meetings against the Mariners. The pitching, combined with the 494th homer of Pujols career provided a bright spot after a miserable start to the day and the news that Josh Hamilton could miss two months with a thumb injury. Hamilton is likely to miss the next six to eight weeks after suffering an injury to his left thumb the night before sliding headfirst into first base. An MRI Wednesday revealed a complete tear of the thumbs ulnar collateral ligament. Hell be examined in Los Angeles on Friday to determine if hell need surgeryy.dddddddddddd Pujols blast went 418-feet into the netting beyond the Angels bullpen in left field, and like the night before, Mike Trout was on base. Pujols is now six homers shy of becoming the 26th player in baseball history to reach 500 homers in his career. "Albert has very high expectations for what he needs to do," Scioscia said. "He takes it very seriously. He assumes the leadership role, he wants to be the cornerstone of the lineup and he takes that responsibility. Its good to see him do some of the things hes capable of and hopefully itll be there for a long time." Richards throwing a gem in Seattle should not have come as a surprise. The last time he started in Seattle last August, Richards threw 7 1-3 shutout innings. In 12 innings this season, Richards has given up one earned run and struck out 13. His only issue is walks and pitch count. He walked five in his season debut against Houston last week, lasting just five innings. His one jam came in the third when Almonte got Seattles only hit and Brad Miller reached on an error. Robinson Cano grounded out to first and Richards struck out Justin Smoak to end the inning. "When you run into a buzz saw like that where a guy is throwing 96-97, getting an 86-89 slider over for strikes, its going to be a tough night," Seattle manager Lloyd McClendon said. "He just out-dueled our guy." Notes: Angels SS Erick Aybar was a late scratch from the lineup after getting some pre-game dental work. He was replaced by John McDonald. ... Injured Seattle started Taijuan Walker (shoulder) threw five shutout innings for Double-A Jackson in a rehab outing on Wednesday. Walker struck out 10. ... One of Seattles other injured starters, Hisashi Iwakuma, threw his first bullpen session on Wednesday as he continues to work back from a finger injury that kept him from throwing for most of spring training. Nike Air Max 90 Womens .Y. -- Henrik Lundqvist had his game-day face on at practice.TORONTO -- Change was on Brendan Shanahans mind when he took over as president of the Toronto Maple Leafs. After taking some time to assess the organization, he made his first major change to the front office Tuesday, firing assistant general manager Claude Loiselle and vice-president of hockey operations Dave Poulin, and hiring 28-year-old Kyle Dubas as the teams new assistant GM. The move represented a shift in philosophy to shape the Leafs more in Shanahans image. "Hes not tied to any old ideas," Shanahan said of Dubas. "I believe we have people in our organization who have maybe been afraid of certain words and certain information who, once you speak with Kyle, I think he makes it seem much more logical and easy to apply." For some time, the Leafs have been considered behind the times with advanced statistics and even the way NHL rosters are shaped. Truculence was and still is a Brian Burke buzzword, and long after his departure Toronto has remained under GM Dave Nonis and coach Randy Carlyle a team that prizes intangibles and toughness perhaps more than the rest of the league. Hiring Dubas doesnt immediately mean that will end, especially given that most of the off-season moving and shaking is over. But the former Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds GM brings fresh ideas and could make the Leafs more willing to embrace different philosophies. "I think every organization rightly or wrongly changes every day," Dubas said during his introductory news conference at Air Canada Centre. "If youre not changing, everything around you is and thus youre going to change in not a great way. Ive got the impression in talking to Brendan and talking to Dave that theyre certainly open to any and all ideas, and that was one of the things that was most enticing about the situation here for me." Shanahan said he began this process just "polling the hockey world" looking for rising stars and innovators to talk to, not specifically a person to hire as an assistant GM. A conversation with OHL commissioner David Branch and others led to Dubas emerging as the top name. Over some time, Shanahan began to see Dubas as not just a source of knowledge but someone hed like to apply that to the Leafs organization. An expected two-hour meeting became seven and became dinner as the two men not only bonded over the shared experiences of being criticized in new jobs but challenged each others preconceived notions about hockey. Dubas, who served as a Greyhounds scout as a teenager before becoming the youngest NHLPA certified agent and the second youngest GM in OHL history, made a strong impression on Shanahan. "I think our view on hockey and how its being played and how it should be played are very similar," Shanahan said. "But immediately for a young guy to come in and have his first meeting with me and challenge thoughts and ideas, I thought that was maybe the most encouraging sign. Thats what I want, I always want our group to be a group where thoughts and ideas are challenged and you come out together as a team." Asked what changes hed like to make to the Leafs, Dubas played the card that hell do what hes asked. But what drew him away from his hometown Greyhounds -- not a "slam dunk" -- was an ability to make an impact. "I was enthused with my talking to Brendan, then even more enthused with my discussions with Dave and where he sees the game goingg and the game evolving," Dubas said.dddddddddddd "That, to me, was one of the more exciting parts of the entire process: Knowing that Id be able to come in and be heard and help out as much as possible." Shanahan also thinks Dubas will be able to teach older members of the organization a few things, lauding his personal skills to be able to communicate and convince without being overbearing. With the 50-year-old talking so much about changing the Leafs "culture," Dubas is a step in that direction. "I can certainly say that anybody in our organization, regardless of what they were asked in the past or past years, their opinions, a little bit of time with Kyle can change those opinions and change those views," Shanahan said. "He is not an in-your-face kind of guy, hes logical, hes thoughtful." Asked if logic was something that was missing, Shanahan said it was "something that we obviously felt needed to be improved upon." Even amid his excitement about hiring Dubas, Shanahan said it was a difficult day to let good people go. Poulin had been around since 2009 and Loiselle since 2010. Each originally hired by Burke, Poulin and Loiselle didnt fit with the new regime of Shanahan, Nonis and now Dubas. "I think that there wouldve been some redundancies there had they stayed and there wouldve been some changes to their role that I dont think was necessarily going to be a proper fit for them," Shanahan said. Shanahan added that Dubass specific duties for the Leafs were ironed out at dinner with Nonis on Monday night. Though Dubas has salary-cap and CBA experience from his past career as an agent, the team is expected to hire another assistant GM for some of that day-to-day work as well as potentially someone else in the front office. "We want to make sure that everybodys in their most comfortable place and a place in which were as efficient as we can be as a club," Shanahan said. Even with another assistant GM around, Shanahan expects Dubas to influence the organization as a whole. "Information is power and Kyle is great at gathering information," he said. "Its not just one specific job for him. I think hes somebody that really wants to sort of be involved in a lot of things." Dubas spent the past three seasons as GM in Sault Ste. Marie, and the Greyhounds made the playoffs twice after a rocky start. Concerned with his own team, Dubas didnt get a chance to watch the Leafs much but caught some replays recently once the possibility grew that hed be moving to the NHL. Living in Ontario, Dubas couldnt avoid hearing about the Leafs. And though his only connection to the coaching staff is knowing assistant Steve Spott, hell have a chance to learn more in time. "I know what a lot of the criticisms and a lot of the positives are surrounding the team and now its just going to be about really digging into it and breaking it down that Im working here," Dubas said. Later Tuesday, the Leafs signed left-winger David Booth to a US$1.1-million one-year contract. They still need to figure out what to do with restricted-free-agent goaltender James Reimer and sign restricted-free-agent defenceman Jake Gardiner to a new contract, things that Shanahan said Nonis has under control. As far as improving the rest of the on-ice product with the Leafs, Shanahan said: "Were working on it." NEW YORK -- Surgery, suspensions and thuggery. The storylines surrounding the Eastern Conference final reached Shakespearean proportions Friday. As he was in Game 3 Thursday night, Montreal fourth-liner Brandon Prust was slap bang in the middle of the mayhem. What had seemed like a quiet off-day quickly turned dramatic when New York Rangers coach Alain Vigneault revealed that forward Derek Stepan, laid out by an unpenalized blindside hit from Prust two minutes 45 seconds into the game, had suffered a broken jaw that needed surgery. Three hours later, Rangers agitator Dan Carcillo was suspended 10 games for physical abuse of an official on a play that came minutes after the Prust hit, as New York looked for retribution. The Carcillo incident came 5:51 into Thursdays game after a fight between Derek Dorsett of the Rangers and Prust. Carcillo, a fourth-liner, had been penalized for charging Prust on the play. The league said Carcillo "physically applied force to linesman Scott Driscoll while being escorted to the penalty box." The suspension was automatic under category 2 of Rule 40.3, titled Physical Abuse of Officials. Prust, meanwhile, was handed a two-game suspension for interference for the Stepan hit later Friday. It has added more drama to a series that saw Montreals all-world goalie Carey Price sent to the sidelines in Game 1 after coming out the worst for wear in a collision with six-foot-three, 230-pound Ranger Chris Kreider. For Vigneault, the missed Prust call Thursday set off a domino effect whose ripples were still being felt the next day. "Four referees missed the call," Vigneault said. "Stepan is injured. The same player that called the hit on Price accidental but on purpose. Late hit, everything that you want to get out of the game, that was his hit on Stepan. "And what saddens me about that hit is, if the call is made on the ice, were on a five-minute power play, and what happened to Dan Carcillo, and what Dan did is inexcusable, and hes going to pay a big price for it, but if the call is made on the ice, hes not put in that position. "So its unfortunate. Step (Stepan) right now at this time is probably getting operated on. He broke his jaw (Thursday), so well have an idea of the time frame (Saturday). But those are stuff that happens during the game that you have to deal with, and thats what were going to try to do." Dressed in jeans and flip-flops, Vigneault looked like he was in relaxation mode. But he was clearly irate at a sequence of events which he believes could have been avoided. Stepan went briefly to the dressing room after the hit, yelling over his shoulder at Prust as he exited. But he returned later in the period and amazingly played a total of 17:45 in the game. A team spokesman said X-rays that night were negative. But Stepan was in pain and saw a specialist Friday, when further tests detected the broken jaw. It seems unlikely that Stepan, who centres Rick Nash and Kreider on the Rangers top line, will be back any time soon. New York leads the series to two games to one. Prust, a former Ranger who counts Canadian UFC lightweight Sam (Hands of Stone) Stout as a friend, was not made available Friday as both teams, skipping practice in advance of Game 4 Sunday, offered up their coaches and select players. Montreal coach Michel Therrien defended his player. "His intention was not to hurt anyone," he said. "Like Kreider, his intention, even if he was going hard to the net and then laying on Carey Price, Im sure his intention was not to hurt Carey Price. Brandon Prust, he tried to finish his check. His intention, honestly, was not to hurt Stepan." Then Therrien suggested the Canadiens knew better than anybody about losing a star player. "If there is a team that can understand the loss of a player, its us. We lost Carey Price in the first game of the series with the hit on Kreider when he hit Carey Price, and we felt frustrated at the time. Were still frustrated not having our goalie, our No. 1 most important player." Therrien, taking a page from Vigneaults book from the Price injury debate, called it "a hockey hit." Habs forward David Desharnais called it a clean hit, with Prust just wanting to get his team going. "You never want to see a guy injured like that but, like I said, we were fighting for our lives (Thursday) and we wanted to set the tone," he said. At five foot seven, Desharnais is one of the Hobbit-like Canadiens. But the first-liner wins praise from his coach for his compete level. And he knows the value of getting under an opponents skin, as Prust clearly did in Game 3. "They were not happy about it," he said of the Rangers. "Everybody got a little chirp here and there and the game was on." A day later, the Rangers still wanted justice. "I think guys were unhappy there wasnt a call on the play," Kreider told reporters. "Obviously, it was away from the play so not a lot of people saw it. But I think the sentiment today is the same as it was yesterday, that it wasnt a clean hit. Hopefully the league deals with it justly." This is my baby and my passion, so I figured out a way to make it happen for myself. Its been amazing. Its one of those situations that you dont ask for but its been a big education. Its definitely shown me what Im made of.While Yurkiw still races in the Canadian teams yellow and red uniform, thats practically her only connection to the federation these days. Once she reaches the finish area, she dons her aqua-green Team Larisa jacket covered with patches from her sponsors. Those sponsors, led by helmet sponsor and foreign exchange company Cresco FX, got plenty of visibility Friday as Yurkiw took advantage of an early start number on a shortened course in thick fog and low visibility to finish 0.dddddddddddd5 seconds behind winner Elena Fanchini of Italy. At one point you have to be lucky, Yurkiw said.Yurkiw has had her share of bad luck, like when she tore up her left leg in a December, 2009 crash and missed her home Vancouver Olympics two months later. In all, she sat out two years of World Cup races.Yurkiw started her personal team last season and qualified for the Sochi Olympics, where she placed 20th in downhill. She opened this season by finishing fourth in a downhill on home snow in Lake Louise, Alberta, last month, and is now sixth in the downhill standings. Her coach, Kurt Mayr, once worked with Austrian downhill legend Renate Goetschl. My coach is a jack of all trades, Yurkiw said. We get pretty creative on how to be efficient and creative and make it work for the most success possible. That involves training and sharing course reports with the Swedish, Norwegian and German teams.I call myself Team Larisa, Yurkiw said. NEW YORK -- The only thing Jonathan Lucroy wished he would have done differently Thursday night was hit that home run sooner. On the eve of his 28th birthday, Lucroy hit a tiebreaking shot in a four-run 13th inning and the Milwaukee Brewers outlasted the New York Mets 5-1 after an unusual rain delay that lasted all of 3 minutes. "Believe me, I was trying to do it earlier than that," Lucroy said. "Sorry." Aramis Ramirez homered in the second inning to end a Brewers power drought and finished with three hits, helping the NL Central leaders take two of three in the series. Milwaukee (40-27) completed a 5-3 road trip with its 10th victory in 15 games overall, matching a season high at 13 games above .500. New York took advantage of an error by Gold Glove centre fielder Carlos Gomez to tie it in the fourth before Kyle Lohse and Jonathon Niese settled into a crisp pitchers duel. "I tried to get us out of there quick, but their guy wasnt co-operating," Lohse said. "He was mixing it up good. I was mixing it up good. We were flying for a little bit until we hit extra innings." The slumping Mets stranded seven runners from the ninth through the 11th and blew a bases-loaded opportunity with a chance to win. They lost for the eighth time in nine games and fell a season-worst eight games under .500 at 29-37. Ryan Braun was 0 for 5 with three strikeouts when he opened the 13th with an infield single off Carlos Torres (2-4). Lucroy, also hitless in five at-bats after beginning the night with a .341 batting average, drove a hanging curve to left field for his fifth home run. Mark Reynolds added an RBI single and Rickie Weeks was hit by Dana Evelands pitch with the bases loaded. Back in the dugout, a frustrated Torres wiped his face with a towel and punched himself repeatedly on both sides of the head. Zach Duke (4-0) tossed a perfect inning and Francisco Rodriguez finished in a non-save situation. "The way our guys threw tonight was awesome," Lucroy said. "It was a lot of fun to be a part of, although I wish we would have gotten done a little earlier." Mets closer Jenrry Mejia got two outs in the 10th, but a stiff back flared up as he was warming for the 11th and he left the game. Moments later, a sudden downpour halted play. Fans scurried for cover as umpires consulted the grounds crew -- and the radar on a smartphone -- near third base. Players stayed in the dugout waiting for word and when the rain quickly lightened to a drizzle, the game resumed after only 3 minutes. "That was weird. I thought they were going to pull the tarp and bang it and have like a one-inning playoff next time when they come to our place," Lucroy said with a laugh. "Crazy night. Glad we could win and get out of here on a good note." Brewers reliever Brandon Kintzler escaped a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the 11th with the help of a five-man infield. Wilmer Flores grounded into a force at the plate before Anthony Recker struck out looking. Incensed by the call, Recker argued and was quickly ejected by plate umpire Angel Hernandez. "You cant get thrown out there," Mets manager Terry Collins said. "I understand his frustration and everything else, but hes got to know theres nobody left on that bench except one guy." With both starters working fast and throwing strikes, the first nine innings were played in a brisk 2 hours, 23 minutes. Lohse, who struggled in three previous starts at Citi Field, held the Mets to an unearned run in eight economical innings. Niese, meanwhile, gave New York another steady outing with nothing to show for it. The left-hander struck out a season-high eight in 7 2-3 innings. He has a 2.22 ERA over 28 1-3 innings in his last four games, all no-decisions. "I felt really good," Niese said. "I knew this is a tough-hitting team against lefties, so I kind of had to go away from how I normally pitch. I used my changeup a lot more." Ramirez hit a solo shot to left-centre for Milwaukees first home run in six games. The last time the Brewers went five games without a long ball was May 4-8, 2011, according to STATS. Lohse retired his first nine batters before Daniel Murphy lined a leadoff single in the fourth. The ball skipped past an indecisive Gomez, allowing Murphy to reach third on the two-base error. He scored easily on Bobby Abreus sacrifice fly. NOTES: Milwaukee is 13-6 at Citi Field. ... MONTREAL -- The Canadiens put together a dramatic comeback that left the Senators speechless. Down 4-1 to the Senators with three and a half minutes to play on Saturday, Montreal scored three unanswered goals to force over time--including a David Desharnais buzzer-beater with less than a second on the clock--before Francis Bouillon scored in overtime for the 5-4 victory. "I dont really know what to say," said a visibly perplexed Marc Methot, who was on the ice for Ottawa on the game-tying goal. "It felt like we were in control, even in the third period. We werent playing on our heels, at least for a good amount of it. They got confidence, and they got the crowd back into it." Bouillon made for an unlikely overtime hero as he entered the game with no goals in 40 games this season. Lars Eller got the comeback underway for Montreal (36-25-7), scoring at 16:38 of the third to reduce the deficit to two. Eller pushed a rebound past a sprawled-out Robin Lehner for his first goal in his last 25 games. Captain Brian Gionta, who assisted Ellers goal, added another less than minute later as he deflected a P.K. Subban shot to the back of the net to make it 4-3. With the Habs on the power play, and their net empty for the extra attacker, Montreal sent everybody to the front of Lehners net and Desharnais put in the tying goal at 19:59 off a feed from Subban. "I looked up at the clock to see how much time there was. I saw quickly that there were fours seconds left," said Subban. "If I had the shot, Im sure it would have been blocked. I saw Davey (Desharnais) waving at me. Big players score in those big moments." The comeback wasnt without controversy. On the game-winning goal, Senators (28-25-13) players were convinced Lehner had frozen the puck long before it was poked away by Max Pacioretty onto Bouillons stick. After the game, referees apparently told Ottawa captain Jason Spezza that there was no whistle on the play because the building was too loud. "I have no idea what that means," said Sens coach Paul MacLean. "Thats the explanation we got. Im confused." "Im pretty frustrated," added Methot. "It was almost deafening towards the end when they scored. I have to be careful with the words I use. It looked like our goalie had possession of the puck. Its tough for the refs, I get that. Theres a lot of noise, a lot of distractions." The game marked the return of Carey Price, who saw his first NHL action since Feb. 8, prior to the Olympic break. Price was out of the lineup for eight games with a lower-body injury that he sustained in Sochi. The 26-year-old Price made 29 saves for his 27th win of the year. After the game, however, head coach Michel Therrien announced Price would not follow the team to Buffalo for their next game, presumably due to the injury. Montreal, with Peter Budaj and Dustin Tokarski in net, went 3-4-1 and conceded 28 goals without Price. Jason Spezza, Zack Smith, Ales Hemsky and Clarke MacArthur scored for Ottawa. The slumping Senators have now lost five of their last seven games and sit 12th in the Eastern Conference, six points out of a playoff spot. The Canadiens came flying out of the gate, with Daniel Briere putting one past Lehner on the teams third shot, 38 seconds into the first period. Spezza equalized against the run of play on the Sens first shot of the game at 3:08, beating Price with a rocket of a slap shot into the top corner of the net. Coming off back-to-back shutouts at the Sochi Games, the goal allowed was Prices first in more than 167 minutes of hockey. Ottawa took a 2-1 lead at 17:10 of the second period when Smith scored his 11th of the year on a breakaway. Smith took a long stretch pass from Karlsson at the blue line, was stopped by Price, but scored on his own rebound. Hemsky doubled their lead at 1:54 of the third, beating Price under the blocker for his seventh point in four games since being traded to the Senators. MacArthur made it 4-1 three minutes later. Notes: Lehner, who made 43 saves on the night, got the start for Ottawa in place of starter Craig Anderson (shoulder). Anderson was injured in the third period of Mondays loss to the Nashville Predators. ... Michael Bournival (concussion) missed his 10th consecutive game. ... Ottawa wore their heritage jerseys. ... Thomas Vanek has yet to score on 13 shots in four games since donning a Canadiens uniform. ... The last time the Habs and Senators met, on Jan. 16, P.K. Machado hurt himself on an awkward swing against the New York Yankees on Aug. 11, crumpling to the ground in the batters box. He tried rest in an effort to return to the AL East-leading Orioles this year, but he said the knee just isnt getting better. "Theres nothing else we can do," Machado said before Baltimores game at the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. "Only thing is going in there and fixing it up. Its just something it didnt get any better at all." The 22-year-old Machado, who was selected by Baltimore with the third overall pick in the 2010 draft, was an All-Star and won a Gold Glove last year in his first full season in the majors. He played in every game before he sustained a similar injury to his other knee and missed the final week of the season. He got his left knee fixed last October in California, and he likely will return to Dr. Neal ElAttrache in the next week or so for the procedure on his right knee. The previous operation included an arthroscopy and open reconstruction of the medial patellar femoral ligament. "Ideally, youd like players to be healthy for the whole season and Manny hadnt been able to get through the first ttwo full campaigns," said Dan Duquette, the vice-president of baseball operations for the Orioles.dddddddddddd "So hopefully these surgeries will address the issue so that when he comes back he will be able to see it through the whole season." Machado did not play in a regular-season game this year until May 1. He hit .278 with 12 home runs and 32 RBIs in 82 games. Its a difficult blow for the Orioles, who are in prime position for their first division title since 1997. They had an eight-game lead over the New York Yankees heading into Saturdays games. "I dont get into that Woe is me, the Earth is shaking and the sky is falling, you cant get into that mentality," Baltimore manager Buck Showalter said. "We played 50 games without him." Slugger Chris Davis got the start at third on Saturday. Jonathan Schoop and Ryan Flaherty also have played the position this year for Baltimore. Duquette did not rule out bringing in someone to help make up for Machados absence, but acknowledged that the pool of available players was thin and indicated he believes the best options are currently on the roster. "The thing about the team and on behalf of the Orioles, weve been able to field a very competitive team this year in spite of our injuries," Duquette said. "And our team has been competitive because players step up." NFL Jerseys China Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Authentic Wholesale NFL Jerseys China Wholesale Jerseys Deals Wholesale Stitched Jerseys ' ' '

The Toronto Raptors are reportedly in talks with the Memphis Grizzlies that could see them add a first round draft pick and a veteran forward on draft day. According to ESPNs Marc Stein, the Raptors could send John Salmons and their 37th pick to the Grizzlies for Tayshaun Prince and the No. 22 pick. Toronto already owns the 20th pick and have reportedly shown interest in drafting Canadian Tyler Ennis. Prince, 34, averaged six points, 1.6 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game in 76 games played this season. Salmons, 34, came to Toronto in the deal that sent Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings. He averaged 5.2 PPG, 1.9 APG and 2.1 RPG in 78 games with the Kings and Raptors this season. The addition would add approximately $7 million to Torontos payroll next year, but Princes deal expires after 2014-15. wholesale nfl jerseys . LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Yes, Russell Wilson loves baseball. But, for now, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback is thinking about getting his team to the Super Bowl. Wilson was selected by the Texas Rangers from the Colorado Rockies on Thursday in the Triple-A portion of baseballs winter meeting draft. Wilson, who played minor league baseball for parts of two seasons before becoming an NFL star, will be placed on Texas restricted list. "At the end of the day, he obviously has a lot bigger things that hes working on right now," Rangers assistant general manager A.J. Preller said, "and we dont want to interrupt with that aspect of it. But if at some point down the road he decides he wants to do baseball again, we felt like it would be a positive to have him with us." Wilson was drafted as a second baseman by the Rockies in the fourth round of the 2010 amateur draft out of North Carolina State, where he excelled at both baseball and football. In two seasons at the Class A level he hit .229 with five homers and 26 RBIs. In 2011, he left the Rockies for football at the University of Wisconsin. He was required to return to the Rockies a part of his $200,000 signing bonus. Wilson said he was stunned Thursday when he got the phone caall from Texas general manager Jon Daniels.dddddddddddd "Its a pretty cool thing. Its my third time being drafted in baseball so its a blessing for sure," Wilson said. "At the same time my focus is on football. Mr. Daniels and I talked about that obviously. He knew that. ... My focus is on football and what were doing here." The 25-year-old Wilson was taken in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft. He led Seattle to the playoffs in his rookie year and the Seahawks are 11-2 this season. Wilson has been a regular fan at Seattle Mariners games during the football off-season. "I love baseball. But football is where my first love is," Wilson said. "Its a blessing to be able to have the experience of playing professional baseball before and obviously playing in the National Football League doesnt get any better." The Rangers thought the $12,000 fee they will have to pay the Rockies was worth the investment. "You see him playing on Sunday. You hear about the work ethic, the person," Preller said. "I think thats going to be a positive message for all of our players in our system." ------ AP Sports Writer Tim Booth and freelance writer Mark Didtler contributed to this report.
