DALLAS -- The Stars have their first win of 2014. Nike Blazer Low Blue Mens . Ryan Garbutt had a goal and two assists as Dallas snapped a six-game losing streak with a 5-2 victory over the Edmonton Oilers on Tuesday night. "Were pretty happy with that one," Garbutt said. "We got some tough breaks in the little slide here, and I think tonight we got some breaks and bounces." Jamie Benn scored a rare power-play goal for the Stars, who had not won since New Years Eve. They entered 29th in the NHL with the man advantage. Benn also assisted on the first goal of the game by Erik Cole, just 14 seconds in. Cody Eakin and Trevor Daley each had a goal and an assist for Dallas, which built a 4-1 lead 1:10 into the second period. "Not a good way to start the game," Edmonton coach Dallas Eakins said. "Going through the game in my end, it seemed like we made three mistakes and they ended up in our net and you cant recover." The final Stars goal came on Daleys shot into an empty net in the last minute. Justin Schultz and Sam Gagner scored for Edmonton, with Taylor Hall assisting on both goals. After the opening faceoff, Daley skated in from the left side, drawing goalie Ilya Bryzgalovs attention. Daley then passed across to Cole, who swept the puck into the open right side. Edmonton tied it at 3:20 when Hall passed to Schultz in the lower right circle. He skated across the front of the net and flipped the puck over Dallas goalie Kari Lehtonen, who finished with 31 saves. Garbutts third goal in two home games against Edmonton gave the Stars a 2-1 lead at 8:35 of the first. "To get that goal right away was important," Stars coach Lindy Ruff said. "Obviously, if you sit right there at 1-1, a lot of things can happen." A pregame talk between Ruff and Garbutt seemed to help. "I had a conversation with him again about some plays in the previous game that I didnt like," Ruff said. "I thought Ryans play was excellent. Tonight might have been one of his best." Benns power-play goal followed less than 2 minutes later. Tyler Seguin passed from the top of the right circle to Benn on the left. His drive beat Bryzgalov. It was only the seventh goal at home with a man advantage in 81 opportunities for Dallas this season. Overall, the Stars entered with a 12.4 per cent success rate (20 for 161). "Tyler made a great play and (Benn) a great shot. Weve had that same look a few times and havent scored," Ruff said. "Hopefully, that leads to better times ahead for the power play." Dallas fourth goal came at 1:10 of the second by Eakin. Antoine Roussel sent a centring pass to Eakin from the right corner. The Oilers controlled play for most of the second period but came away only with Gagners goal. He got the puck in the crease after Lehtonen got tangled up with Daley. NOTES: Benns goal was his 16th, and third on the power play. ... Halls two assists gave him seven points (five goals, two assists) in the last six games. ... Dallas Ray Whitney played in his 1,300th NHL game. ... The last time the Stars lost seven in a row was in March 2009. ... Late in the game, Edmontons Ales Hemsky was hobbling on a swollen ankle. "The early X-ray doesnt show anything, but I think were going to have to delve a little deeper," Eakins said. Nike Zoom Fit Agility Trainers . The Hamilton Tiger-Cats wide receiver had a workout on Tuesday with the NFL’s Green Bay Packers, according to Pro Football Talk.In some ways, it feels like the Ottawa Senators have cornered the market on messy departures. Or at least the awkward ones. First there was Alexei Yashin sulking his way out of town in the summer of 2001. Then just prior to the start of the 2005-06 season, Marian Hossa signed a contract extension with the team - only to be dealt hours later to the Atlanta Thrashers (In hindsight, perhaps Hossa should have been suspicious of John Mucklers evil laugh as his pen hit the paper). The next summer, Zdeno Chara up and left as a free agent, not leaving an ounce of return for his massive 6-foot-9 frame. There was also the buyout of Ray Emery just 12 months after he backstopped the club to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in modern franchise history. Dany Heatleys departure the following summer was easily the most contentious and controversial in franchise history. But that exit may have been trumped when Daniel Alfredsson abruptly left town in the summer of 2013 after contract talks reached a stalemate. So, all of this brings us to Jason Spezzas decision to ask for a trade last spring. On the surface, its easy to lump Spezza in with some of the other controversial exits from this city. After all, he was the captain of the team for less than a calendar year when he asked Bryan Murray to be traded to another organization. However, with Spezza returning to Ottawa tonight, there isnt that sense of pent-up frustration and anger from the fan base that we saw when Heatley came back to town. Or even the swirling mixed emotions when Alfredsson rolled back in wearing a Red Wings jersey for the first time. Those departures were sudden and shocking - like a cold slap in the face. But with Spezza, we could all see the writing on the wall for months - if not years. And so, were all sort of looking at each other with the same question: Whats the reception going to be for Spezza tonight? The reason why there might be an emotional disconnect is that the Spezza departure actually felt like a mutual decision. As Gwyneth Paltrow might say, there was a conscious uncoupling between the two parties. Even Spezzas most faithful supporters would agree that it was probably best for both parties for him to move on. He spent more than a decade with this organization and as he pointed out to us Wednesday, when you are the No. 1 centre on a team for that long and you dont win a Stanley Cup, there are going to be questions. In the case of his other linemates - Heatley and Alfredsson - we were left unfulfilled with the public explanations for their departures. So conspiracy theories started to pop up at every corner. Most of these were so ridiculous that they could not be published on a reputable website, but in the absence of a definitive explanation, these rumours ruled the day. Thankfully, we were spared that same script of gossip and innuendo with Spezza because his reasons for wanting to leave town actuually seemed believable. Nike Shox Nz Mens. And it also felt like it was in the clubs best interests to move on from him as well. There will be some people who boo Jason Spezza tonight because they felt like he turned his back on the organization and the city while he was the captain of the team. But as Spezza explained to me Wednesday, he understood that asking for a trade while wearing the captains C was going to create a stir. Its something I took very seriously, being the captain - especially on a Canadian team and somewhere I had been for a long time. So I was disappointed with how my one year as captain went, but thats hockey and you learn from it. I didnt just wake up one day and decided I wanted to ask for a trade. It was something I felt was necessary to move on in my career and kind of start another chapter. It definitely wasnt an easy decision, Spezza said. Perhaps the easier decision for Spezza would have been to keep his mouth shut and stay in Ottawa until his contract ran out at the end of this 2014-15 season. But then he would have been painted as the villain who left town and gave his organization nothing in return for him. At least by taking this route, Spezza allowed the organization to get a pair of prospects including one - Nick Paul - who projects out to be an NHL player in the future and a second-round draft pick. That return is certainly better than the alternative of Spezza simply walking away as a free agent this summer. And Spezza is also well aware of the narrative going around that he couldnt stand the heat of playing in a Canadian market. He shrugged off that suggestion Wednesday, saying that he never felt like the constant media scrutiny was the catalyst for his decision to leave town. Everybody is going to have their opinion and spin it however they want. But everybody who knows me and has been around me knows thats not why I asked to be moved, Spezza said. I think too much gets made that I just wanted to get out of the spotlight because my whole life Ive been in it. But I just felt it was necessary to move on to another organization and try things a different way. My goal is to win the Cup and I have to try it a different way. People will perceive it however they want, but I dont think Ive ever been afraid to stand in front of a microphone and be accountable for my play. Spezza told me that hes going to miss skating on the canal here in Ottawa, something he made sure he did with his family each winter. On Wednesday, he was planning to drop by his favourite Italian restaurant - Capones - for a bite to eat. And he even went to his old barber downtown for a familiar haircut. In coming back to Ottawa, Jason Spezza didnt need to slink around town with his hat pulled down low. This wasnt a messy breakup or a divorce that has cast one side as the bad guy. Instead, this was a mutual decision to leave and by all accounts, both sides are happy. But Erick Torres converted a volley in the 94th minute to give Chivas USA a 1-0 victory and deny the Impact a point. "Its heartbreaking," Montreal coach Frank Klopas said. "I feel for my players because they put a lot into the game. I definitely feel that we should have walked away with points. "But, sometimes, the game is cruel." Chivas USA (5-7-5) earned its third consecutive win when Torres scored his 12th goal of the season, and his fourth in four games. Marco Delgados shot ricocheted off Impact defender Matteo Ferrari to an unmarked Torres, who tapped the ball to himself with his right foot and sent a nine-yard volley between goalkeeper Troy Perkins and the right-wing post. Until Torres scored, Montreal (3-8-5) had not allowed a goal in 405 successive minutes spanning three MLS games and the Canadian Championship win against Toronto FC on June 4. Seconds after the Impact took the ensuing kickoff, referee Juan Guzman whistled the games end. The Impact had three chances to scorre. Nike Air Max 90 Mænd. . Then in the 66th minute, Kennedy used his right hand to deflect Romeros eight-yard shot into his body while on his knees. "I just felt our decision-making could have been better," Klopas said. "We had chances in transition when they were pushing forward. But once they were set, we kept forcing every play to be the perfect pass." The Impact remains the only MLS team without a win on the road. Klopas believes time is running out for his team to win away from Stade Saputo. "Now, the second half of the season is starting and every game becomes very important," Klopas said. "For us, its going to be a difficult stretch. Weve got to find ways to get points on the road. I felt tonight was a really great opportunity." Perkins made two saves and needs three more to tie former Canadian international Pat Onstad for ninth place in career saves. TORONTO - James Reimer appears to be okay after a scary and all too familiar incident one night earlier. Ua Scorpio Chrome . The 25-year-old was able to join teammates at practice on Friday and expects to be available for Saturdays game in Chicago against the defending Stanley Cup champion Blackhawks. "Thats the plan," said Reimer of being available this weekend. "With these things you really never know. You have to judge how Im feeling in the morning again, but the way I feel today I think we should be ready to go for [Saturday]." Reimer was forced to leave his fourth start of the season against Carolina after just 32 seconds on Thursday night, dinged unintentionally in the neck area by teammate Josh Leivo. He was replaced by Jonathan Bernier in what concluded as a 3-2 loss. Considering his history with the injury, Reimer is likely to exercise caution. Back in the fall of 2011, he experienced an eerily similar collision with Montreal captain Brian Gionta. Suffering from what the team described then as "whiplash symptoms" Reimer was kept off the ice for three consecutive days, returning to a single practice before being placed on injured reserve the following day. He would miss the next 18 games and would battle the after-effects of the injury all year long. Though there was initially confusion as to the nature of the injury in that instance, Reimer and the Leafs later learned it to be neck-related and as a result, feel better prepared to address the current situation in the days ahead. Reimer had a headache as a result of the collision on Thursday evening, but returned to the teams practice facility on Friday morning free of any such symptoms. In an effort to elevate his heart rate and determine if any issues arose Reimer rode the bike and worked out, free of any trouble. "If my headache subsided then I wanted to practice," he said, one of three goaltenders at practice, University of Toronto goaltender Michael Nissi also on hand. "Woke up this morning, felt pretty good." According to the netminder, new league protocol dictated that he depart Thursdays game. "The trainer evaluates the situation and if he sees that it was a pretty extensive hit to the head then he says youve got to come out," Reimer explained. "I tried to have a discussion with him and say that I was alright. But obviously that wasnt the case in that moment so he made the call that I come out." "We felt [Thursday] night that it wasnt anything that was going to be prolonged, but you always err on the side of caution in these situations," Leafs coach Randy Carlyle said. "You want to make sure that your player tells you hes 100 per cent ready to go." Reimer is 2-0-0 so far this season with a .917 save percentage. You can watch the game on TSN and TSN GO at 7pm et/4pm pt. The Angels had managed just two runs per game in a 1-4 stretch prior to Tuesday, but ended the drought with 15 hits in a 9-3 victory. Clevenger, who is in the lineup while starting catcher Matt Wieters recovers from elbow soreness, hit an RBI double in the 10th inning to extend the Orioles winning streak to five games with a 5-4 victory over the Houston Astros on Saturday night. "Its big, just for the team," Clevenger said. "We were on a four-game win streak, now five. Were never going to give up until the last out and we proved that tonight." J.J. However, after a 55-minute rain delay, Astros right-hander Anthony Bass loaded the bases with two outs on two singles and a walk before pinch hitter Delmon Young tied the game with an infield single. "I didnt let them on," Hunter said. "I didnt want them to get on. I actually tried to get them out. They got a couple hits. They got me tonight. However, Altuve delivered a sharp single to centre to give the Astros the lead. With the Orioles trailing 2-1 in the seventh, Hardy led off with a single and then Clevenger also reached when McHugh fell while trying to handle a dribbler. After Steve Pearce singled to load the bases, McHugh allowed the tying run on a wild pitch. The Orioles could not take the lead despite having runners on second and third with no outs as McHugh and left-hander Tony Sipp got groundouts before Josh Zeid struck out Manny Machado to end the threat. The Orioles improved to 17-0 when leading after eight innings. The Astros took a 1-0 lead in the second when Springer homered to left off Gonzalez with two outs. Houston increased the margin to 2-0 the next inning when Villar singled to centre and then took second when Jones bobbled the ball. Villar stole third and scored on a single by Dexter Fowler. McHugh was cruising and retired eight consecutive batters before allowing a walk to Pearce in the fifth. Jones homered in the sixth to pull the Orioles to within 2-1. It was the first Orioles hit since Clevenger singled in the second. NOTES: Houston manager Bo Porter lost a challenge in the seventh when Dexter Fowler was out on a close play at first base. It took 1 minute, 16 seconds to confirm the ruling on the field. ... PITTSBURGH -- The Nationals stuck with their ace. Derek Anderson Jersey UK . The Pirates made them pay. Josh Harrison had a tiebreaking, two-out single two batters after Jose Tabata hit a sacrifice fly off of Stephen Strasburg in the seventh inning, and Pittsburgh handed Washington its fourth straight defeat, 3-2 Saturday night. Strasburg, who struck out 14 in a memorable major league debut against the Pirates almost four years ago, did not allow a hit Saturday until Walkers homer to centre with one out in the fourth. Pittsburgh managed just three more singles off Strasburg until the seventh, when Russell Martin led off with a single and went to third on a one-out double by Starling Marte before scoring on the sacrifice fly by pinch-hitter Tabata. "(Strasburg) pitched very well," Washington manager Matt Williams said. "Of course, they got to him in that last inning but I want to give him a chance to get out of there with a tie game. He was still strong. Hes our ace, hes deserves a chance to get out of it and it didnt work out." Gerrit Cole left after six innings trailing by a run while facing Strasburg in the first matchup in the NL of No. 1 overall draft picks in nine years. Cole -- the top pick of the 2011 draft, two years after Strasburg went first -- allowed two runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. Strasburg (3-4) allowed three runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts in seven innings. Strasburg insisted he wasnt losing his stuff as he crossed the 100-pitch plateau in the seventh. "My command was still pretty good," he said. "I got a pitch in on Martin and he dumped it into the outfield. I tried to pitch around a couple of guys. The pitch that killed me was the hanging curveball to Marte. That really set up the inning for them." Of the Harrison at-bat, Strasburg said: "Hes the type of hitter whos going to put the ball in play and he put it in the right place." Harrison followed pinch-hitter Travis Snider, whom the Nationals intentionally walked after Strasburg fell behind 2-0. "I was pretty much telling myself, I feel like Im seeing everything hes throwing," Harrison said of his seventh-inning at bat against Stephen Strasburg. "I was just looking to barrel something up." Neil Walker hit his 10th home run for the Pirates, who tied their season-best winning streak of four. Jered Hughes (3-1), Jeanmar Gomez and Mark Melancon each worked a perfect inning of relief for Pittsburgh. Melancon picked up his ninth save when he finished the Pirates majors-best 14th one-run victory. Ian Desmond hit his ninth homer for Washington (24-25), which has lost six of eight and fell under .500 for the first time this season. "Its tough -- were all trying very hard, trying to get back on track," Strasburg said. "I do think weve probably reached the point where were trying too hard and need to take a step back and let the game come to us." The bullpen backed up Cole, who allowed 10 baserunners and threw 112 pitches in six innings, retiring the side in order only once. Still, Pittsburgh won for the fourth time in five May starts by Cole. Wilson Ramos sawed-off, bloop single in the sixth scored Anthony Rendon to give the Nationals a 2-1 lead. Greg Dobbs went 2 for 4 for the Nationals. NOTES: The Mets Kris Benson (the No. 1 pick of the 1996 draft) faced Cincinnatis Paul Wilson (No. 1 overall in 1994) on May 16, 2005 -- the most recent occurrence of top picks facing each other in the NL. It happened in the American League two years ago (Kansas Citys Luke Hochevar vs. Tampa Bays David Price on Aug. 21, 2012). . 1B Adam LaRoche joined the Nationals in Pittsburgh and will be activated for Sundays game. Infielder Zach Walters was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse after Saturdays game to make room for LaRoche, who has been on the disabled list since May 10 because of a right quad strain. ... SS Desmonds homer gives the Nationals 17 this season from their middle infielders, most in the majors. . The four-game series wraps up Sunday when Washington RHP Doug Fister (1-1, 3.93) faces Pirates LHP Francisco Liriano (0-4, 4.86). Despite his record, Pittsburgh has won five of Lirianos past six starts. Von Miller Jersey UK . "We are delighted that the crown agreed to review the case and agreed with us that there was no reasonable prospect of conviction," Valanciunass lawyer Alan Gold said in an email. The latest quarterfinal match-up features Detroit Red Wings Gustav Nyquist taking on Colorado Avalanche netminder Reto Berra. Nyquist breaks in one-on-one against Matt Carle and the Lightning defender appears initially to do enough to prevent a goal, drawing a penalty in the process. However, Nyquist shakes Carles grip and pounces on the puck he just lost. From behind the goal line, he still has the presence of mind to corral the puck and toss it under a recovering Ben Bishop. Berra, meanwhile, easilly gets top marks for distance. Custom Carolina Panthers Jersey UK. Jack Johnson has a good look at the net on a Blue Jackets power play, but Berra comes out of nowhere with a denial. Going into a full roll, the Finnish netminder not only gets his pad up to stop it, but connects with a near-bicycle kick to fire the rebound out of the crease in a move thats "more Pele than Brodeur." ERFURT, Germany -- Alexander Povetkin of Russia defeated Ruslan Chagaev by unanimous decision Saturday to claim the vacant WBA heavyweight title. Adidas Superstar LevnÄ› . The title was Wladimir Klitschkos following the Ukrainians victory over David Haye by unanimous decision in Hamburg last month, but was declared vacant when the WBA elevated Klitschko to "super champion" status. Povetkin, the 2004 Olympic heavyweight champion, remains undefeated after 22 fights (15 KOs), and becomes the mandatory challenger for Klitschko. "I dont want to think about Klitschko," said Teddy Atlas, Povetkins American trainer. "I want to think about Povetkin and this title ... well think about Klitschko some other time." Povetkin won on the judges cards 116-112, 117-113, 117-113. Chagaev, of Uzbekistan, held the WBA title from 2007-09. His record fell to 27-2 (17 KOs), with one draw. "Im sorry, today was not my day. But thats boxing, thats sport," Chagaev said. "Hes a good boxer, a real world champion now." Chagaev, 32, recovered from a poor start to rattle Povetkin in the sixth round, catching him cleanly with left and right hooks to leave the 31-year-old unsteady on his feet. Atlas called on Povetkin to fight for the honour of his father, who died last year, and the Russian regained the upper hand in the ninth as Chagaev appeared to tire. "My father always hoped and wanted for me to be a world champion," Povetkin said. "It was a very hard fight. It was very hard to fight him. I have a lot of respect for him. Hes a very difficult and patient boxer." Adidas Superstar 2 .S. Olympic hockey team. Switzerland had already secured the match with its doubles victory on Saturday. On Friday, Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka both won their singles matches and pulled out of the reverse singles. MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Kevin Loves 3-point shooting is opening up things for Minnesotas offence and Timberwolves took advantage Sunday, notching their first victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in almost four years. Love had 30 points and nine rebounds, the Timberwolves hit a season-high 12 3-pointers and Minnesota beat the Grizzlies 101-93, snapping Minnesotas 11-game losing streak to Memphis. Love, who connected on all but one of his nine 3-pointers in Friday nights loss to San Antonio, was 11 of 21 from the field Sunday, including 4 of 8 from outside the arc as Minnesota converted 12 of 26 from long range in winning for the third time in four games. Minnesota had made 11 3-pointers six times this season, including in Friday nights loss at San Antonio. "Its crazy," reserve guard J.J. Barea said of Loves offence. "It opens up the drive for everybody. Everybody else can play freely. You know they are going to have to pay attention the rest of the game to him." Nikola Pekovic scored 19 points, while Barea had 15, hitting 3 of 5 from outside the arc. Ricky Rubio finished with 12 points. Mike Conley led the Grizzlies with 28 points before leaving with just under 4 minutes to go with a bruised left thigh. Zach Randolph had 20 points and 12 rebounds. Jon Leuer scored 15, and Jerryd Bayless added 14 as Memphis lost its third straight. Conley was listed as day to day after the game. It was the latest in a spate of injuries for Memphis, which has lost starting centre Marc Gasol and reserve swingman Quincy Pondexter indefinitely. Tony Allen and Ed Davis just returned from missing several games apiece with injuries. That has left the Grizzlies trying to work their way through makeshift lineups to find a defensive identity. "I dont think it is frustration," Allen said. "Its all about getting it together and practice. We just have to keep sticking to the things thatt pretty much gained our notoriety. Nike Air Max Zero Cz. quot; Memphis made several runs at Minnesota in the fourth quarter, cutting the Timberwolves lead to 95-92 when Randolph scored inside with 2:27 left. But Pekovic converted four straight free throws to create the cushion that led to the victory. "The last 3 minutes, we really executed and played good defence," Pekovic said, adding "that was the difference" from Fridays loss to the Spurs. The Timberwolves relied on their 3-point shooting, led by Love and Barea, to carry a 56-46 lead into the break. Love had 19 points, connecting on 7 of 12 from the field, including 3 of 5 from outside the arc. Barea hit all four of his shots in the half, including a trio of 3-pointers for 13 points. "When you get down 20 in the first half, you are exerting a lot of energy to fight back," Leuer said. "Nobody quit, and we did fight back." Conley scored 15 of his points in the third quarter to help Memphis cut into the lead, but Minnesota clung to a 77-73 advantage entering the fourth. Memphis was within 81-79 with 9:19 to play, when a flagrant foul on Davis changed momentum. Davis was called for the foul on a fast-break drive by Alexey Shved, and on the shot, Kosta Koufos was called for goal-tending. Shved hit the ensuing free throw, and when the Timberwolves got the ball, Pekovic was able to convert a pair of free throws and Minnesota had an 86-79 lead. "That was huge," Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said of the swing. NOTES: Minnesotas last win over the Grizzlies was Feb. 6, 2010. The Timberwolves last win in Memphis was Jan. 6, 2009. ... The Grizzlies had an 11-game winning streak over Golden State snapped earlier this month. ... Kevin Martin, Minnesotas second-leading scorer with a 21.5 average, was held scoreless. Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn. Adidas Superstar Nz Sale .ca. Hi Kerry, I think theres a significant flaw in the NHLs instant replay process - or perhaps you have an explanation Im not aware of? During the Leafs/Kings game Monday night, L.A. scored an early goal. It wasnt clear that the puck crossed the line, so the play continued on. At the next stoppage, they went upstairs, and it was quickly called a good goal because it clearly crossed the line. However, if you watch the replay of the goal, Marian Gaborik circles into Berniers crease and obstructs Berniers ability to slide left and stop the Anze Kopitar shot. He was standing in the middle of the crease well before the puck crossed the line. At the point in time the puck crossed the line, the ref wasnt aware it crossed the line and the play continued. Therefore, there was no need to wave the goal off due to goalie interference. When the play went for review, all the boys in the War Room looked for was the puck crossing the line. In actuality, the puck did cross the line, but the goal should have been disallowed due to goalie interference. And because the War Room cant look at goalie interference, the wrong call had to be made. Another conspiracy call against the Leafs in L.A. or am I just missing something? Craig Dalziel Craig: You havent missed a thing as evidenced by your excellent observation and well prepared question. The correct decision made within the allowable criteria and capability of the video review process to determine a good goal on this play reinforces my ongoing publicly stated position that the referees must be allowed to personally review potential goals where there is any suspicion that a violation of goalkeeper interference had occurred. Even though play continued for approximately 45 seconds after Anze Kopitar fired an undetected rocket under the crossbar for a potential goal, one or all of the officials on the ice could have determined, (perhaps through reflective hindsight) that Marian Gaborik had maintained a significant presence and initiated contact with Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier prior to the shot. They might have even determined that Bernier was unable to move freely about his crease as a result of Gaboriks intrusion and contact inside the blue paint. The time lapse that resulted could have contributed to a foggy recollection of the play by the officials. Perhaps the fact that it all happened very quickly in real time just might have caused them to miss the potential goalie interference. The fact remains, if they had detected the incidental contact on what they thought was of no consequence at the time of an undetected goal, nothing prevented the referee(s) from disallowing that goal as a result of goalkeeper interference once video review informed them that the puck had in fact entered the net. For whatever reason the call was missed on the ice in the moment, if the referee(s) had the opportunity to review a play of this nature my best guess is they just might have disallowed the potential goal. As we know, goalie interference is the on-ice officials call to make. Most often, they could surely use the benefit of video replay to make this very difficult call correctly. Lets not be too quick to cast blame on the referees however. They want the authority and ability to review goalie interference. It just hasnt been granted to them at this point. As we more closely examine this play Craig, Bernier set himself at the right side post in a butterfly position and then chose to flop as he moved across the crease prior to the contact initiated by Gaborik. Some might suggest that Bernier put himself in a position where he would not have been able to make the save on Kopitars shot regardless of any interference created by Gaborik. While we could debate that distinct possibility, rule 69.3 clearly states that if an attacking player initiates contact with a goalkeeper, incidental or otherwise, while the goalkeeper is in his goal crease, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed. 69.1 also provides that goals should be disallowed only if an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeepers ability to move freely within his crease and defend his goal. Gaborik entered the crease willingly and not through contact with Leafs Captain Dion Phaneuf. By his positioning (significant presence inside the crease) and contact, Gaborik impaired Berniers ability to move freely within his crease and defend his goal. I have to believe that, upon further review, most referees would determine that a violation of rule 69 had resulted and the good goal would be overturned with a call at ice level. Adidas Superstar 2 Black And White Men . And it might have cost the Cubs the game. SAN DIEGO -- Philip Rivers, with a nice bit of defence thrown in, ensured the San Diego Chargers didnt blow another fourth-quarter lead. Billige Nike Air Max 90 Herre . Rivers threw for 401 yards and three touchdowns, including a 56-yarder to Antonio Gates that helped the Chargers beat the Dallas Cowboys 30-21 Sunday. The Chargers (2-2) blew late leads in their two losses. On Sunday, they scored the final 20 points to beat Dallas (2-2). Running a no-huddle, no-hurry offence under new coach Mike McCoy, Rivers gets to the line of scrimmage with roughly 20 seconds left on the play clock, enough time to read the defence and check into a different play, if necessary. Its a luxury he didnt have in Norv Turners offence. "I feel in sync. I have a rhythm and Im comfortable in the pocket when we get that no-huddle going," Rivers said. "Its big being 2-2 instead of 1-3. I know weve been there before but its tough to dig yourself out of 1-3, especially when youre playing with young guys and guys you didnt expect to be in there. They can gain confidence off games like this." Rivers completed 35 of 42 passes, his final TD pass, to Gates, being the 200th of his career. He threw two TD passes to running back Danny Woodhead. After having three 400-yard games in his previous nine seasons, Rivers has two in this years four games. Rivers 83.3 per cent completion rate was the highest in NFL history for a 400-yard passing game. The previous mark was 81.8 per cent (36 of 44) by San Franciscos Jeff Garcia against Chicago on Dec. 17, 2000. After 35 interceptions the past two seasons, Rivers has been picked off only twice so far while throwing 11 touchdown passes. "It was really what he did throughout the ballgame," Dallas coach Jason Garrett said. "He did a fantastic job. He really controlled the football and controlled the game. He did an outstanding job getting them into the right play over and over again. "He threw the ball as well as hes thrown in a long, long time." Rivers biggest pass wasnt necessarily his prettiest. He short-armed one over the middle to Gates, who slid behind linebacker Sean Lee to haul it in and score with 6:54 to go. Lee had intercepted Rivers on a deflected pass and returned it 52 yards for a 21-10 lead late in the second quarter. Dallas didnt score again. "We were able to get some looks we thought we could take advantage of," said Gates, who had 10 catches for 136 yards. "The way he threw that ball, he put it in the right place and I was able to make the play." San Diegos defence came up with a big stop in the final moments. Tony Romo moved the Cowboys to the San Diego 7, where he hit Terrance Williams at the 1. Williams was stretching for the end zone when he was hit by Crezdon Butler and fumbled. San Diegos Richard Marshall recovered for a touchback. A week earlier, Butler was burned on a 34-yard touchdown pass from Jake Locker to Justin Hunter with 15 seconds to play to give Tennessee a 20-17 victory. Butler was in against the Cowboys because Derek Cox left with a knee injury. "I saw that the ball was a little loose. We learn as a kid you can put a hit on the ball and it comes out," Butler said. "I had no idea he lost it. Then I rolled over and I saw Marshall had it. "Last week was tough and I had to move on from that," Butler added. "Being a defensive back you have a short-term memory. Im glad I made that play today." It was only the second takeaway of the season for San Diego. San Diego trailed 21-10 when Nick Novak started the comeback with a 42-yard field goal as the first-half clock expired. The Chargers took the opening kickoff of the second half and Rivers moved them 80 yards, capping the drive with a 13-yard pass to Woodhead to pull to 21-20. The way Rivers ran the offence, the Cowboys didnt have a chance to come back. They ran only seven offensive plays in the third quarter. "Thats what we see every day," Woodhead said of Rivers. "He was great, but hes always great." After forcing Dallas to punt, San Diego took a 23-21 lead on Novaks 23-yard field goal that capped a drive starting from the Chargers 11. Romo threw touchdown passes of 5 and 34 yards to Dez Bryant in the second quarter, when Dallas scored 21 points. Lee got his interception return for a TD when Rivers was hit by tackle Jason Hatcher as he released the ball. NOTES: Chargers LB Manti Teo made his NFL debut. Santiago de Surco, Peru (SportsNetwork. UGG Boots Cyber Monday UK SALE .com) - Julian Etulain fired a final- round, even-par 72 on Sunday and he was able to hang on and win the Peru Open by three shots. Etulain, who also won this event last year, finished the week at 14-under-par 274, three shots better than Robert Rohanna and Sebastian Saavedra at Los Inkas Golf Club. The Argentinean did not start off on the right foot as he tripped to a bogey at the first, but two holes later he rolled in his first birdie on three to get back to even par. Following a trio of pars, Etulain traded a bogey on seven for a birdie on eight. He parred No. 9 to make the turn at even par. Another bogey on 11 dropped Etulain back another shot, but he finished strong. Six straight pars preceded a birdie at the last as Etulain clinched the victory by three shots. Rohanna carded a 5-under 67, while Saavedra shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday and they finished in a tie for second at 11-under 277. Pettersen finished at 9-under 279 and earned $300,000 for her 14th LPGA Tour title.CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls superstar point guard Derrick Rose is out indefinitely because of torn cartilage in his right knee that will require surgery, the team said Saturday. The former MVP has a medial meniscus tear. The timetable for his return was not immediately clear. Rose had an MRI in Los Angeles on Saturday after he was injured the previous night at Portland. The three-time All-Star sat out last season recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Now, its his other knee thats injured. The injury occurred in the third quarter against the Trail Blazers. Rose lost his footing while trying to change direction to get back on defence when Nicolas Batum stole a pass from Joakim Noah and started the other way. Rose limped across the court and couldnt put any weight on his knee. After the Blazers scored, he came out of the game during a timeout. It didnt appear there was any contact on the play. Rose was unable to return and was on crutches afterward. He will not accompany the Bulls for the remaining four games on their six-game trip. Even though the injury isnt as serious as a torn ACL, losing Rose for any chunk of time is obviously a huge blow for a team expecting to challenge LeBron James and the Miami Heat for supremacy in the Eastern Conference with its franchise player back. The Bulls (6-5) were even eyeing a championship run for the first time since the Michael Jordan-Scottie Pippen era. Now, theres a big cloud hanging over the franchise. And once again, it centres onn Rose. UGG Boots Cyber Monday UK DEALS. The latest injury rekindled memories of the 2012 playoff opener against Philadelphia, when he crumpled to the court near the end of the game with a torn ACL in his left knee. That sent the top-seeded Bulls toward a first-round exit and put them in a holding pattern last season while their star recuperated. Many thought he would return at some point, particularly after he started practicing without restrictions. Instead, his recovery took on almost a circus-like feel. Fans saw him shooting and dunking before games last season and wondered why he wasnt playing. Meanwhile, the Bulls fought injuries and illnesses on the way to 45 wins and a first-round playoff victory over Brooklyn before falling to Miami. Along the way, his image took a hit. Adidas released videos documenting his progress, but Rose mostly stayed in the background, saying little about his recovery. That changed midway through the season. There was also speculation of a rift with the organization after older brother Reggie Rose ripped management for standing pat at the trade deadline, but Derrick Rose denied that. All those issues faded into the background with Rose back this season. He had insisted he was returning better than ever, had no doubts he would regain his MVP form, but he was off to an up-and-down start after a dominant preseason. A sore hamstring caused him to miss a game, and he is shooting just 35.4 per cent. He was looking better the past two games, with 19 points in a loss at Denver and 20 against Portland. Kanzig, a native of Athabasca, Alta., was the Flames third round pick, and 67th overall, in the 2013 NHL draft. He is in his third season with the Victoria Royals of the Western Hockey League. In 30 games this season, the six-foot-six, 240-pound defenceman has two goals and two assists while accumulating 57 penalty minutes. Gareth Bale Jersey .Y. -- For the second consecutive game, the Florida Panthers overcame an early deficit on the road and picked up a key win. Luka Modric Real Madrid Jersey . The leagues competition committee met Monday, two days after a controversial goal in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup final that involved contact on Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, and discussed making more situations subject to review. http://www.soccerrealmadridauthentic.com/womens-lucas-silva-real-madrid-jersey/ .com) - The Butler Bulldogs will conclude a two-game homestand at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Monday night, as they face off against the Kennesaw State Owls in a non-conference affair. MISSISSAUGA, Ont. -- Cory Boyd can play the game of football very well. Hes just not very good at standing around and watching it. The Toronto Argonauts will have their rushing leader back in uniform Saturday night when they travel to Hamilton to face the arch-rival Tiger-Cats. Boyd returns after missing four games -- all losses -- with a knee injury. "Aw man, words cant explain how I really felt," Boyd said Thursday after repeatedly proving he could run well despite the presence of a brace on his right knee. "A spectator from the sidelines, you can always pinpoint all the wrong things but you know that wasnt the character of our team. "Thats not what we put out in practice, that was not the enthusiasm we played with and that was not how we play ball here. As a collective team we did not play our best ball ... but I think that will change because communication is better between coaches and players and even between players and I think youll see a better outcome." The contest is just the seventh of the season for both teams, but it has a lot of significance for the struggling Argos (1-5). After opening the 2011 campaign by winning 23-21 in Calgary, Toronto has lost five straight games and last week fired defensive co-ordinator Chip Garber and replaced him with secondary coach Orlondo Steinauer. Rookie Chad Kackert stepped in admirably for Boyd, rushing for 314 yards (fifth in the CFL) with an impressive 5.8-yard average per carry. Kackert also scored four touchdowns but had three fumbles, second only to quarterback Cleo Lemon (four) on the Argos squad. However, Boyd is the player who makes the Argos offence go. He ran for 100 yards on 17 carries and a TD against Calgary after last season finishing second in the CFL in rushing with 1,359 yards. Boyds importance is significant considering Toronto has trouble throwing the football consistently (league-low 233.2 yards per game), putting added pressure on the rushing attack. The six-foot-one, 213-pound Boyd certainly raised eyebrows throughout the CFL in 2010 as he was named a league all-star in his first season north of the border. In the off-season the Argos rewarded their hard-running tailback with a contract extension through the 2013 season. Boyd was injured the second week of the season in Winnipeg and TToronto hasnt won a game since. Daniel Carvajal Jersey. Boyd said he wanted to return in time for last weeks 36-23 home loss to Montreal but Argos head coach and general manager Jim Barker held him out as a precaution and says the extra time seems to have paid off. "He has practised very well," Barker said. "I thought he practised well last week and I like them to practise a week before they come back. "He just brings so much in terms of protection and understanding what were doing. I thought he looked very good." The initial diagnosis of Boyds injury was hed miss two-to-three weeks. The Argos tailback admitted he was frustrated it took him longer to recover but feels the extra time was well spent. "We took a little bit more time to make sure, Boyd said. "Precautionary measures. "I wanted to play last week but now we have Hamilton up and Im looking forward to being a leader and the rushing player Ive always been." Hamilton (3-3) is in the thick of it in the East Division behind front-running Winnipeg (5-1) and Montreal (4-2). However, given the intensity of the long-standing rivalry between the Ticats and Argos, where the two teams are in the standings rarely matters when they get together. "Anytime Toronto plays Hamilton theres a great rivalry," Barker said. "I know our players are very very excited about it. "You can play at Christmas, play anytime, play anywhere, play out there in that parking lot and I think its going to be very intense. Thats the way it should be." Boyd is gearing up for a hard-hitting return. "We know theyre a physical team and are going to bring it every play," he said. "We have to match their intensity." Boyd is anxious to do what he can to help Toronto reverse its fortunes and remains confident he can inject life into the clubs offensive scheme. However, hes also quick to point out hes but one of 12 Argos on the field. "I know I am one man and that I have a lot of abilities and character that I can bring to the team," he said. "But I also know there are 11 other guys who can do the same thing. "Im looking to them to do their part and I know theyll be looking to me to do my part. Its a collective thing that Im looking forward to." Cheap China Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys From China China NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

SAN DIEGO -- At the end of the longest nine-inning game in San Diego Padres history, Pirates manager Clint Hurdle summed it up best Monday night. Adidas Neo Scarpe Uomo . "Its time to go home," he said. Jordy Mercer homered and matched a career high with four of Pittsburghs 16 hits in a 10-3 romp over the Padres. Neil Walker added three hits and three RBIs, and Josh Harrison also had three hits to help Pittsburgh win for the ninth time in 13 games. The Pirates are enjoying their West Coast swing so far. After taking three of four at Dodger Stadium, they headed south and won again in a game that took 4 hours, 4 minutes. "It was a long one, thats for sure," Mercer said. "But it is always good when you score a lot of runs." Charlie Morton (2-7) tied a career best with nine strikeouts in five innings. He allowed two runs and three hits in winning for the first time in five road starts this year. Three relievers finished the five-hitter after Mortons curveball baffled the Padres. "He was still dealing with baserunners," Hurdle said. "But he was able to compete and get outs when he needed to. He gave us five solid innings." Mercer scored four times from the No. 8 spot in the batting order and went 4 for 5 to raise his average 20 points to .219. He entered with one home run and seven RBIs in 146 at-bats. "The people believe in me here," Mercer said. "Having that support, having that confidence every time, its nice." Hurdle talked about how dangerous this Pirates lineup can be. Mercer agreed. "I think when we all get hot theres no telling what we can do," Mercer said. "The skys the limit for us because we can hit the ball out of the ballpark, we can run, we can do all sorts of stuff. Its just a matter of us all clicking together." Tim Stauffer (2-2) lasted only 2 2-3 innings, his second consecutive disappointing start since being inserted into the rotation because of elbow injuries to Andrew Cashner and Robbie Erlin. "The first two innings were pretty good, then he seemed to lose the feeling for his pitches," San Diego manager Bud Black said. The Padres threw 249 pitches, the most ever by their staff in a nine-inning game. "It was just unfortunate it unraveled the way it did," Stauffer said. The Pirates broke open the game with three runs each in the seventh and eighth. The big blow was Walkers two-run double in the seventh, propelling Pittsburgh to its sixth win in the last nine road games. Four times in the previous six innings the Pirates loaded the bases but scored only one run. They stranded a season-high 16 runners. The teams combined for 12 walks and six hit batters. Through the first four innings, Morton didnt allow a run or hit -- although the Padres reached on an error, two walks and two hit batters. But in the fifth, Everth Cabreras double drove in Alexi Amarista after he opened the inning with a single. Seth Smith drove in Cabrera with a single, trimming the Pirates lead to 3-2, but pinch-hitter Tommy Medica struck out with the bases loaded. Pittsburgh had extended its advantage to 3-0 on Mercers RBI single in the fourth. Starling Marte scored after he was hit by a pitch from reliever Alex Torres. Mercer snapped a scoreless tie with a home run to start the third inning, a 414-foot shot into the second deck beyond the left-field fence. Ike Davis sacrifice fly scored Harrison for a 2-0 lead. NOTES: Cashner threw a four-inning simulated game and didnt report any discomfort. Cashner, on the DL since mid-May with a sore right elbow, could start this weekend. "That was a good step forward," Black said. Cashner said hes adjusted the grip on his slider to take pressure off his elbow. ... Erlin hasnt been cleared to resume throwing. Hes on the DL with a sore left elbow. ... Pirates RHP Stolmy Pimentel (right shoulder inflammation) made a rehab start at Class-A Bradenton, throwing two scoreless innings. ... Harrison has batted leadoff 15 straight times, the longest stretch by a Pirates player this season. ... RHP Gerrit Cole (5-3, 3.80 ERA) faces Padres RHP Jesse Hahn on Tuesday. It will be Hahns major league debut after appearing in 10 games with Double-A San Antonio, where he was 2-1 with a 2.20 ERA. Adidas Superstar Oro . One night after scoring 43 points in a 100-96 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, James sat out the game with back spasms and the Heat lost for the first time in their three games without him this season. Angel Pagan hit a three-run home run in San Franciscos five-run eighth inning and the Giants beat the Diamondbacks 8-5 on Thursday in a game that was halted briefly in the top of the first due to a swarm of bees in the outfield.SAN ANTONIO -- No cramps, no problems for LeBron James. And with their superstar making it to the finish this time, the Miami Heat bounced back from a loss, just as they always do in the playoffs. "Obviously, having No. 6 in the game at the end was a plus for us," Dwyane Wade said. James had 35 points and 10 rebounds in a powerful comeback from the cramps that knocked him out of the opener, as the Heat tied the NBA Finals with a 98-96 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 2 Sunday night. Chris Bosh made the go-ahead 3-pointer on a pass from James with 1:18 remaining for the Heat, who have won 13 straight following a loss in the post-season. Just like last year, they rebounded after losing Game 1 to the Spurs. Bosh had 18 points for the Heat, who are headed home for Game 3 Tuesday night. James played more than 37 minutes, making 14 of 22 shots. He was 1 for 4 with three turnovers in a shaky first quarter, then made 11 of his next 13. After two days of enduring criticism for not finishing the game and getting suggestions on how to avoid cramps, James changed the subject. "What happened on Thursday was Thursday," James said. "My whole focus was how I was going to try to help this team even this up and just try to make some plays." He had a key strip of Tony Parker down the stretch, playing a dominant game on both ends as if he had something to prove. As usual, James found a way to silence his haters. He had 11 points in the second quarter, helping Miami erase an 11-point deficit early in the period. The game was played within a margin of a few points from there, and the Spurs missed a chance to seize control in the fourth quarter when Parker and Tim Duncan missed four straight free throws when they had a two-point lead. James then made a 3-pointer and two free throws to put Miami in position to win. Parker scored 21 points and Duncan had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Spurs, who had won eight straight at home by at least 15 points. "Down the end there they executed really well," Duncan said. "LeBron made some great passes and guys made open shots. We had the same result in the first game. They kind of flipped it in this one." The game was played in comfortable conditions inside the AT&T Center, where an air conditioning failure in Game 1 sent temperatures soaring to about 90 degrees. The broken circuit breaker was fixed by Friday afternoon, and it was much cooler inside thhe arena. Yeezy Boost 350 Italia. James had the toughest time with the heat Thursday, needing treatment midway through the fourth quarter before eventually having to leave for good. He had plenty of time to recover, with the two days off between Games 1 and 2. He changed only a little of his routine, taking an 8 a.m. yoga class Sunday morning and switching to a shorter pair of tights. He personally erased a 62-56 San Antonio lead by scoring eight points in less than a minute, and his 14 points in the third quarter had Miami down only 78-77 heading to the fourth. "For me, once I get into a good groove, I feel like everything is going to go in," James said. For a time, everything did. Then he switched to being a passer at the end, finding Bosh in the corner for the shot that made it 95-93. Wade and Rashard Lewis each scored 14 points for the Heat, who also dropped Game 1 of the NBA Finals against Oklahoma City two years ago. They have won five straight series after dropping the opening game. The Spurs were in good position, withstanding James assault long enough to lead by one with under 2 minutes to play. But they were shut out from there until Manu Ginobilis 3-pointer as time expired. "LeBron with the ball did a pretty good job at his end and we had to be really perfect at the other end and we didnt," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "We didnt take advantage of things. We made bad decisions." And it didnt help them that they had to deal with James at the end of this one. Ginobili finished with 19 points for the Spurs, whose 18 points in the fourth quarter were half the 36 they scored in the opener. "We have a very competitive group and you have two days to commiserate how that game went down," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said. "It was frustrating, painful going through that for two days and now we have to manage the other emotion." After their sensational finish to Game 1, the Spurs picked up right where they left off, making 10 of their first 15 shots. They opened an 11-point lead early in the second before James got going. He had three straight Miami baskets, and a follow shot later in the period gave the Heat their first lead at 34-33. Notes: Parker has 1,026 assists in the post-season, moving past Michael Jordan (1,022) for eighth place on the career post-season list. He also passed Jordans Hall of Fame teammate, Scottie Pippen, for 13th on the career scoring list with 3,655 points. The Bulls brought back James on Wednesday with Kirk Hinrich sidelined by a hamstring injury.Night falls on the final Saturday of February and Julio Cesar is not starting a game once again. Yet, when he walks out on the field he has a huge smile on his face as he stops to say hello. Julio Cesar is back in his happy place. His new team, Toronto FC, start their pre-season game against Orlando City FC with him on the bench but he knows it is simply a routine night off from the number one spot he recently inherited. It is fitting that he is here in Orlando, in the shadows of Walt Disney World, a place that turns dreams into reality for millions every year. Yet, it was one thing to bring joy to the face of a child when they meet Mickey Mouse; it is quite another to bring together a scenario where the Brazilian number one goalkeeper chooses a Major League Soccer franchise, that has won 17 of their last 102 league matches since 2010, to prepare him for the sports ultimate stage. From the makers of Remember The Titans and Miracle, Disney, we present you with another remarkable sports script, currently taking place in your back garden. "I am really happy here," Cesar told me in an interview before the match. How can he not be? Everyone he left behind in England is sleeping as he trains hard with fellow keeper Joe Bendik before the game. Three weeks ago thats where he was, fast asleep dreaming of getting another chance. At the end of January he lay in his London bed counting down the days to the World Cup and wondering if he would be able to play. The transfer window closed and no offers had come. "The truth is Toronto is the only team that came after me and gave me the chance to sign - I talked with my agent and I said I need to play because I went eight months without playing." Cesar stops and apologies for his difficulty with the English language. "My English is really rubbish - everyone in Brazil keeps joking with me about my English. I try and do my best." The 34-year-old jokes he can speak two-and-a-half languages but as he does he concentrates to find the right words to deliver the important message about a time in his life that was clearly a real challenge. He continues: "For me, it was a tough, tough time, I was very sad in England. My agent talked to me and the deal came together quickly for me to sign with them. I have some friends that live in Toronto and they told me its a good city to live and I know MLS is growing, so I accept quickly. I am really happy - I am so thankful to MLS for this good opportunity to play games before the World Cup and arrive at the World Cup fit." Cesars night ends as it began, as a substitute, but as he leaves the field he is joined by Michael Bradley and Dwayne De Rosario. Cesar to Bradley to De Rosario is a combination coach Ryan Nelsen will lean on a lot this season. They are also big parts of arguably the biggest offseason transformation in MLS history. It could be a Disney fairytale, but this is a box office reality show and with two designated players added to score goals as well, the Reds are the talk of MLS here in Disney. The return of the local star De Rosario? Romantic. The signing of Gilberto, an exciting unknown talent from Brazil? Adventurous. The capture of Jermain Defoe? A blockbuster. Bradley? A real hardcore thriller. Now Cesar as well? Are you following along, Disney? Forget Kevin Spacey and his pals, these five are the Unusual Suspects that no one saw coming, tasked with bringing success to Toronto FC and changing perceeptions of a club that has only known failure. Nike Air Force 1 Suede Grijs. Time to make a movie poster, Toronto FC fans. On it, Cesar would want to be next to Bradley. He spends a lot of time with teammate Jackson, a fellow Brazilian, who he can easily converse with in Portuguese but he admits the former Roma midfielders knowledge of Italian is a big plus. "Michael is great, I followed him in Italy, in Rome, a good midfielder, and day after day he is teaching me English through Italian." Cesar and Bradley started their TFC journey against Columbus here in Disney last Wednesday. It is not a game he will remember much about, although he is a player who remembers many matches. Interestingly, however, when pressed to name the one he will think about more than most, he chooses a game he lost. "Its Barcelona-Inter Camp Nou semifinal of the Champions League in 2010," Cesar tells me with a smile. "Barcelona were amazing at that moment so to put them out at the semifinal was so gratifying and to play in a Champions League final, for me, is one of the best moments in my career." That 1-0 loss gave 10-man Inter (Thiago Motta was sent off) a 3-2 win on aggregate and was one of the greatest defensive performances in recent history. Not surprisingly, Cesars eyes widen when he thinks back to the dressing room after the match, as he celebrated with so many great professionals like Lucio, Javier Zanetti, Maicon, Samuel Etoo and Wesley Sneijder. "We all started jumping inside the dressing room - led by Materazzi. You know, you cant believe it at the moment if its true or not but the dream came true - it is one of the best memories I have in my mind." The goalkeeper knows many of his best memories are behind him but hopes the best moment of all is still to come. "Im really excited for the World Cup, you know, not just for me but my colleagues on the national team, the supporters as well, it is a big moment for our country. We have the opportunity to make history. I played in 2006, 2010 and this is my last World Cup and its in my country, which is amazing!" Spend a few minutes with Cesar and you begin to realize he is one of those rare footballers who think of himself more as an international than a club player. It is not difficult to understand why, having been left out by QPR all season, yet through that heartache his love affair with his national team grew stronger through a remarkable act of loyalty. An act that is ultimately the reason for him now being with Toronto FC. Back in September, Brazilian manager Luiz Felipe Scolari stated Cesar would definitely be going to the World Cup, regardless of what happened with QPR. "This season when I went to the national team I was smiling again because I had an opportunity to play and thats really important, I owe a lot to Scolari but also (assistant coach and former World Cup winner) Carlos Alberto Parreira as well - they are doing good things for me. When you dont play, the press talk a lot with them because we have good goalkeepers in Brazil but when you dont play and the coach of the national team still wants you it is very special, so I am so thankful to them because they trust me a lot in my job, so I came to Toronto because I need to pay them back." And that is why the goalkeeper, who in fifteen weeks will be on the pitch for Brazil against Croatia in the World Cup opener, is here in Disney. The only thing missing is a film maker. LONDON, Ont. Nike Free 5.0 Herr Orange . -- The London Knights elimination from their third straight Memorial Cup stung because it was their earliest exit of the three. The host team of the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup was a true contender among the four teams in it. With seven Knights forwards who helped the Knights win the last two Ontario Hockey League championships and with a team that scored over 300 goals this season, London was a threat to win the Cup on their third try in as many years. But the hosts were eliminated by the Guelph Storm in a 7-2 loss Wednesday. The Knights went 0-3 through the preliminary round and needed a win against their OHL rival to get into a tiebreaker game. "We thought for sure wed have a better chance of winning it this year," Knights forward Josh Anderson said. "We didnt have the bounces we wanted. Its too bad it had to end this way. "We wanted to have the Memorial Cup championship. I thought our organization really deserved one after the hard work weve been putting through these past three years. Looking at it now, Im glad I got the opportunity to come here and play for the London Knights." The Knights lost the 2012 final 2-1 in overtime to the host Shawinigan Cataractes. They fell in last years semifinal to the Portland Winterhawks in Saskatoon. The Storm were the first team since the Windsor Spitfires in 2010 to go 3-0 through the preliminary round. The OHL champions had already secured a berth in Sundays championship game after their second win. "It gives us confidence to know we can beat every team in the tournament," Storm forward Scott Kosmachuk said. The Val-dOr Foreurs, 2-1, and the Edmonton Oil Kings, 1-2, meet in Fridays semifinal in a clash of the Quebec and Western league champions. The winner faces the Storm for the Cup. Kosmachuk is a Winnipeg Jets prospect and led Guelph with a hat trick. Detroit Red Wings draft pick Tyler Bertuzzi scored twice. Marc Stevens and Dallas Stars prospect Jason Dickinson added a goal apiece for an explosive offence thats churned out 18 goals in three games in the tournament. The Storms Justin Nichols held off London when they pressed late in the first period and midway through the second. He made 45 saves for the win. Anderson, a Columbus Blue Jackets prospect, and Brett Welychka replied for the Knights. London mustered just four goals in three games. Two were scored by defencemen. The Knights were stopped on two penalty shots in the tournament and they scored once on 12 power-play chances. London outshot the Foreurs 51-28 in the first game of the tournament, but lost 1-0. "Its a bad time to get cold for offence and for scoring goals," Knights forward Max Domi said. London goalie Anthony Stolarz stopped 14-of-17 shots and was replaced by Jake Patterson early in the second when he inadvertently kicked the puck into his own net. Patterson allowed four goals on 21 shots. Guelph also ousted London from this years OHL playoffs on Apr. 11. The Knights had five weeks without a game, which may explain their lack of touch around the net. "Its not easy being off for that long and coming back and playing at the high level these guys have been playing through the whole thing and winning championships," Knights forward Bo Horvat said. "Weve been practising the whole time, but theres no excuses." Londons goaltending felt unsettled as well. Because of an eight-game playoff suspension in March, Stolarzs hiatus prior to the Cup was even longer. In his first game in seven weeks, he made 27 saves in the loss to Val-dOr. But the Philadelphia Flyers prospect was replaced by Patterson both Wednesday and after two periods of Sundays 5-2 loss to Edmonton. Wednesdays round-robin finale featured a pair of frightening knee-on-knee collisions, although the players in each case escaped major injury. Storm assistant captain Zack Mitchell was tossed at 6:56 of the first period for kneeing London defenceman Dakota Mermis. The CHL suspended his Storm teammate Chadd Bauman for the rest of the tournament Wednesday for the same hit on Val-dOr defenceman Guillaume Gelinas on Monday. Knights defenceman Nikita Zadorov took a tripping minor in a second-collision with Bertuzzi, who limped off the ice. But both Mermis and Bertuzzi stayed in Wednesdays game, whereas Gelinas was unable to play the following night against Edmonton. Londons frustration boiled over in the final minutes and Stevens scored Guelphs fourth power-play goal of the game on a two-man advantage at 17:14. The Windsor Spitfires of 2010 went 4-0 en route to the Cup that year. But the Spitfires opened the 2009 tournament with a pair of losses and ran the table to claim the trophy. For that reason, Guelph wanted London gone so the Knights couldnt come back to haunt them Sunday. "This team is a team that once they get this city and this building behind them, they can really do some damage," Guelph captain Matt Finn said. "We didnt want to let them back in because theyre a dangerous team. "We wanted to be the team that was 3-0 and knock London out of this tournament." Nike Free 5.0 Svart . The defending Stanley Cup champions will begin the second round on home ice, as the Chicago Blackhawks host the Minnesota Wild at United Center in Game 1 of the Western Conference semifinals. Mike Moustakas Replic Jersey . Watch the Blackhawks vs. Wild live tonight on TSN2 at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt. This series is rematch of a 2013 postseason matchup, as the Wild were the Blackhawks first victim in their march to the Cup last year. Chicago knocked Minnesota out of the first round in five games, losing only Game 3 on the road and holding a 17-7 edge in scoring. That was the first playoff meeting between these clubs, but the Wild can lean on the fact they went 3-1-1 versus the Blackhawks this season, splitting two games in Chicago. Game 2 of this series also will be staged in the Windy City on Sunday afternoon. For a little while, the Blackhawks quest to repeat as NHL champions appeared as if it was going to come to an end with a first-round exit. Then the Blackhawks reminded everyone just whey they are coming off their second Stanley Cup in four years. It looked as if Chicagos inability to claim home-ice advantage in its quarterfinals matchup with the St. Louis Blues would be the difference, as the Blackhawks lost a pair of overtime decisions to begin the set. That included a triple-overtime setback in Game 1 at Scottrade Center and the fact that the Hawks followed up with another 4-3 overtime setback in Game 2 could have left the club with slumped shoulders going back to the Windy City. Instead of rolling over, the Blackhawks got a 34-save shutout from Corey Crawford to win Game 3 before Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews potted back-to- back overtime-winning goals in Games 4 and 5. Toews then started a four-goal barrage in the third period of Game 6s series-clinching 5-1 win. Toews showed why he wears the captains "C" on his jersey as all three of his goals in the series were game-winners and he matched defenseman and Norris Trophy nominee Duncan Keith for the club lead with seven points. Toews was one of six multi-goal scorers for the Blackhawks in the series, with Kane also potting three goals. Keith and fellow defenseman Brent Seabrook added two goals and Seabrook finished with six points despite missing three games due to suspension for a hit to the head in Game 2. As expected, the duo of Keith and Seabrook logged a ton of minutes. Keith was on the ice for nearly 30 minutes a game, while Seabrook averaged 27 minutes and 41 seconds of ice time. Hell need to maintain his discipline in Round 2. Chicago also had the best penalty kill percentage coming out of the first round, limiting St. Louis to two goals on 29 chances. Crawford, meanwhile, settled down after a rough start to keep the Blackhawks chances of becoming the first repeat champions since the 1997-98 Detroit Red Wings alive. Rocked for eight goals in the two losses, Crawford followed up his third career postseason shutout by yielding just six goals on 98 shots over the final three games. He ended the series with a 2.03 goals against average and .926 save percentage. The Wild survived Round 1 despite playing from behind seemingly the whole time during their quarterfinals matchup with the Central Division champion Colorado Avalanche. A road team did not win a game in the series until Minnesotas 5-4 victory in Game 7. In that contest, the Wild overcame four one-goal deficits, getting a game-tying goal with 2:27 left in regulation before Nino Niederreiters tally 5:02 into overtime. Niederreiters second goal of the game capped the latest comeback of the series for the Wild. They trailed 2-0 in the series after losing the first two on the road and then were behind 3-2 ahead of a Game 6 victory. Rookie netminder Darcy Kuemper was seen as the savior at the early portion of the series, relieving Ilya Bryzgalov in Game 2 and going perfect with 14 saves. He then allowed just one goal in total in back-to-back home victories, including a defensive 22-save gem in Game 3. Like the rest of Minnesotas roster, Kuemper showed an ability to bounce back, following up a Game 5 defeat with a 21-save effort in the next game to extend the series. However, Kuemper was forced to exit Game 7 after 51 minutes of action due to an unknown injury and Bryzgalov had to make just one save in 13 minutes and 15 seconds of relief before Niederreiters goal. The injury will leave Bryzgalov as the starter for at least Game 1 of this series and he posted just a 4.25 goals against average and .826 save percentage in his three games that totaled 112:41 of ice time. John Curry, a 30-year-old journeyman, will suit up as Bryzgalovs backup. Curry has seen action in six career NHL games and none in the playoffs. Head coach Mike Yeo said that Kuemper is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury following Fridays morning skate. Minnesota has made it to the playoffs in both seasons since signing forward Zach Parise and defenseman Ryan Suter to monster contracts and both were solid in Round 1. Parise had three goals and seven assists, tying him with three other players -- two of those on the Avalanche -- for the postseason lead in points. Mikko Koivu was second on the club with six points off a goal and five helpers. Suter, meanwhile, averaged 29:47 of ice time and had a goal with three assists to lead Wild defensemen in points. Thirteen different skaters scored a goal for the Wild against the Avalanche, with Charlie Coyle matching Parise for the team lead with three. Youngsters Niederreiter and Mikael Granlund added two each along with veteran Kyle Brodziak, while blueliners Jared Spurgeon and Marco Scandella also scored twice. Kuemper won his only start versus Chicago this season, stopping 33-of-34 shots faced at home in January, while Bryzgalov took a shootout loss in Chicago. Bryzgalov is 8-6-5 with a 2.51 GAA lifetime versus the Blackhawks. Crawford, meanwhile, went 2-2-0 with a 2.98 GAA in four games versus the Wild this season. Kane had three goals and two assists versus the Wild in 2013-14 Toews, though, was held to just a pair of assists. Parise had two goals against Chicago in the season series, while Suter had three assists and Granlund four helpers. Royals Hosmer Jersey . She is teaming with Athlete Ally, an advocacy group focused on ending homophobia and transphobia in sports. The organization has denounced the anti-gay laws recently passed by the Russian government and is circulating a petition that urges world leaders to put pressure on the Russians to eliminate the law, which prohibits promotion of "non-traditional" sexual relations. The law has drawn harsh criticism since it was passed in June with some activists calling for a boycott of next winters Sochi Olympics. Bucsis is one of only a handful of openly gay Olympic-calibre winter athletes around the world. While her family knew she was gay, Bucsis came out publicly during Calgarys gay pride parade in early September. "Im proud to be from Calgary, Im proud to be an athlete, and Im proud to be gay," she tweeted. On Wednesday, she said taking on an advocacy role "seems natural" because she is proud of who she is. "I started speedskating at the age of four, and wasnt aware of any other gay skaters when growing up," she said in a statement. "During my coming out I was very anxious and lonely because I lacked having an out athletic role model. I didnt have any other gay athletic friends, or any mentors that I could readily turn to for advice or support. I am ready to help any athlete out there who is considering coming out of the closet. Its the besst decision I ever made. Mike Moustakas Authentic Jersey. " Australian snowboarder Belle Brockhoff has also joined Athlete Ally. "One of the reasons I came out was because I wanted people to find inspiration in me coming out globally," she said. "It was important for me to show in-the-closet gays and lesbians that theyre supported and loved all over the world." Bucsis and Brockhoff join New Zealand speedskater Blake Skjellerup and American figure skater Johnny Weir as the only Olympic-calibre winter sports athletes in the world who publicly identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transsexual, according to Athletes Ally. "Four athletes is actually a record number," said Hudson Taylor, executive director of Athlete Ally. "Belle and Anastasia showed great courage when they came out in response to Russias gay propaganda laws, and now they are exemplifying the leadership necessary to help change the world." Both Brockhoff and Bucsis hope the number of out Olympic hopefuls will grow with awareness and support. "Having more LGBT athletes come out before the Sochi Olympics will help promote the positive message of acceptance and equality within sport," said Bucsis. "Sport is a human right and everyone deserves the ability to participate and play; I believe and support the Olympic Charter and the idea of the Olympic Spirit. Having more LGBT athletes come out during the lead-up to Sochi will promote acceptance, awareness and education regarding gay athletes and their contribution to sport." OTTAWA -- Philip Scrubb collected another basketball trophy Wednesday, earning Canadian Interuniversity Sports most outstanding player award for the third consecutive season. Adidas Lite Racer Neo Uomo . The fourth-year guard from Carleton University kicked off his varsity career with rookie of the year honours in 2011, before racking up three straight Mike Moser Memorial Trophies for outstanding player. "Phil has been the guy we have gone through for four years and without him, there could never have been the success that we have had," said Ravens head coach Dave Smart. "He is an extremely talented player who is a full team guy over everything else." The 21-year-old from Richmond, B.C., was one of three Ravens to win national awards. His older brother Thomas, a fourth-year forward, was named the top defensive player in the CIS, while Smart added to his collection of Stuart W. Aberdeen Memorial Trophies, claiming his fourth consecutive coach of the year award and seventh overall. University of New Brunswick guard Javon Masters won the Dr. Peter Mullins Trophy as rookie of the year, while Saint Marys forward Harry Ezenibe won the Ken Shields Award for excellence in basketball, academics and community involvement. The awards were presented in advance of the CIS mens championship that opens Friday in Ottawa. Scrubb was the most consistent player on the top-ranked Ravens, leading Carleton in scoring (18.6 points a game) and assists (4.9). The six-foot-three guard was ranked third in the CIS in assist-to-turnover ratio, fifth in three-point shooting and eighth in free-throw percentage. Scrubb led Carleton to a perfect 22-0 in conference action for the third time in four years. The commerce student helped the Ravens to the CIS title in each of his first three seasons. He was the only active CIS player invited to Canadas senior national team camp last summer. Scrubb was a member of the national team for both the 2013 Summer Universiade and the 2011 Pan American Games. The other finalists for the Moser Trophy were Acadia forward Owen Klassen, McGill guard Vincent Dufort and Alberta forward Jordan Baker. Thomas Scrubb earned defensive MVP honours for the first time after claiming the conference defensive award for the second consecutive season. The six-foot-six forward was once again the anchor of a defensive unit that finished first in the OUA and second in the CIS for fewest points allowed (62.2 per game). The neuroscience student averaged 8.4 rebounds a game on the defensive end, and chipped in on offence with 13.2 points a night. "Tommy has been asked to cover the best player on the other team every game regardless of position for two years," said Smart. "He has deferred other offensive aspects of his game to do that. If not for him I have no idea how we would stop anyone. He doesnt defend one position, he defends four positions, very few can do that." Acadia forward Owen Klassen, Concordia forward Zach Brisebois and Victoria guard Reiner Theil were the other finalists for defensive MVP. Masters, a native of Kitchener, Ont., is the first UNB player to win the Dr. Peter Mullins Trophy. The six-foot guard claimed the national scoring title with 27.4 points a game, and topped the Atlantic conference in three-point shooting percentage (42.4). His 215 free throws made, the highest total in CIS this year, are a new season mark for the league. The 19-year-old helped the Varsity Reds finish with a .500 record (10-10) for the first time since 2003-04. "(Masters) has made a major impact on our program and will continue to do so as he progresses through his career at UNB," said coach Brent Baker. "Leading the country in scoring as a freshman is a rare and special accomplishment." McGill guard Dele Ogundokun, Brock forward Dani Elgadi and Alberta forward Mamadou Gueye were the other nominees. Smart now has seven CIS coach-of-the-year awards in only 15 seasons, three more than legendary coaches Ken Shields and Bruce Enns. His four consecutive national awards are also two more than any other coach in history. This season, he led the Ravens to an undefeated conference record for the third time in four years and the sixth time overall. He improved his all-time record in league play to 303-23 (.929), with nine of those losses coming in his first year as head coach. "Dave has done a remarkable job with our mens basketball program," said Carleton athletic director Jennifer Frenning. "Not only has he recruited and developed top student-athletes, he has instilled positive values and a strong work ethic which will make them successful well past graduation." The other finalists were Acadias Stephen Baur, McGills David DeAveiro and Victorias Craig Beaucamp. Ezenibe, a native of Nigeria, became the first Saint Marys student-athlete to win the Ken Shields Award. On the court, the six-foot-four forward averaged 9.0 points a game in his fifth season. In the classroom, the two-time academic all-Canadian is completing a double major in sociology and criminology and maintains a 3.6 grade point average. Ezenibe spends his free time volunteering with youth in the community and hopes to establish a project to help children in Nigeria. In November, he was invited by Toronto Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri to speak at the opening of the Giants of Africa foundation. "Harry is completely selfless," said Huskies head coach Jonah Taussig. "He is always looking out for the greater good whether it be with his teammates or the youth he works with in the community. He is always looking to make a positive difference in the lives of the people around him." Bishops Scott Ring, Carletons Kevin Churchill and Fraser Valleys Jasper Moedt were also nominated. The Sharks had been ranked No. 1 for the first three weeks. Heading the other way, the Dallas Stars have one win in their last five games and lost centre Tyler Seguin and defenceman Stephane Robidas to injury, so they dropped from 14 to 19. The Toronto Maple Leafs have hit a rough patch, recording fouur wins in 13 November games -- a month that was supposed to be relatively easy for them -- and dropped from 12 to a season-low 20th in the rankings. The loss completed Ottawas opening round series victory and sent the Northeast Division-winning Habs to the dressing room to pack after just five games.CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Charlotte Hornets revealed what they will look like on the floor next season -- at least from a fashion perspective. The Hornets unveiled their three new primary uniforms on Thursday featuring white, purple and teal colours. The uniforms bear a strong likeness in colour scheme to the old Hornets regime but have been slightly modernized. Pete Guelli, the Hornets chief marketing officer, said the process was about building a brand identity for the organization. "Each step of the way we tried to mindful about connecting the original Hornets with the modern DNA," Guelli said. "We knew we could never go back to the original logo. We wanted to reflect the heritage and evolve the brand that left the 12 years ago." The home white and away purple uniforms both read "Hornets" on the front, instead of "Charlotte" as in years past. The alternate teal uniform, which will be worn 16-20 times per season at both home and away games, has "Charlotte" written across the chest. The home and away uniforms represent a change from when the Hornets were here last from 1988-2002. Back then, all of the teams uniforms read "Charlotte" across the chest. Hornets senior vice-president of marketing, entertainmeent and Interactive media Seth Bennett said it was no longer necessary to emphasize the citys name. Salomon Speedcross 3 Cs Soldes. "In 1988, a lot of people needed to know who Charlotte was, but thats no longer the case," Bennett said. "Our community has grown. People recognize Charlotte as an international city." Bennett also said fans had pushed for Hornets on the front in the research the team conducted. Another noticeable change is the team did away with the popular teal pinstripes down the front of their home uniform and pleats, instead going with a cleaner, block-letter design with thicker stripes down the left side of each uniform. The Hornets focused on simplicity. "We didnt want to be trendy, we didnt want to be loud. I think this connects the two eras," Bennett said. Hornets owner Michael Jordan had input on the design of the uniform. "He wanted something high-performance. Something our players would be proud to wear," Guelli said. Although the uniforms are Adidas as per NBA policy, it was Nikes Jordan Brand that designed and worked on them for more than a year. The team announced fans can start pre-ordering replica jerseys in August, but the uniforms wont be available in the team store until late September. PITTSBURGH, Pa. Nike Air Max Thea Sort Tilbud . - It seems borderline surreal, a role reversal as stunning as it is definitive. A year ago, the Cincinnati Bengals came to Heinz Field in December and emerged with a 13-10 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. That propelled Cincinnati to a second straight post-season berth and sent its longtime nemesis into a downward spiral from which it is still trying to recover. Watch the Bengals vs. Steelers live on TSN with coverage starting at 7pm et/4pm pt. "I think (it was big)," Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green said. "The Steelers had our number every year, even when I first got here." Not anymore. Not by a long shot. If anything, the gap between the two franchises has only widened over the last 12 months. Cincinnati (9-4) can assure itself a third consecutive trip to the playoffs in Sunday nights rematch. The Steelers (5- need to win out just to avoid the clubs first losing season in a decade. Welcome to the new AFC North, the one where the balance of power is 60 minutes away from sitting well west of Pittsburgh and Baltimore — at a place that has spent most of the last two decades serving as fodder for the rest of the league. Those days are over. The Bengals, not the Steelers, are the ones with the young and athletic defence. The Bengals, not the Steelers, are the ones with the dynamic running game. The Bengals, not the Steelers, are the ones with the swagger of a champion. What better chance to show the world just how far theyve come than on national television? "Theres going to be more people watching," quarterback Andy Dalton said. "We have to put our best foot forward and be playing our best, show everyone what this team is and what were made of." The Steelers are trying to do the same. The meaningful portion of their season came to an end in a 34-28 loss to Miami last week that all but mathematically eliminated them from the chase for the AFCs second wild card berth. They insist, however, theyre not going to just play out the string. "Im motivated to play as hard as I can," quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said. "Im sure everyone else is." Five things to look for as Cincinnati tries to cement its newfound perch atop one of the leagues better divisions. HARRISONS HOMECOMING: Bengals linebacker James Harrison returns to the place where he forged a career as one of the most talented and menacing players in the league. The Steelers cut Harrison last spring after failing to reach agreement on a restructured contract. He landed in Cincinnati, where hes found a niche as a role player on a defence that is one of the NFLs most aggressive. PITTSBURGHS PATCHY D: The Steelers are in danger of finishing outside the top 10 in total defence for the first time this millennium. Pittsburgh is 13th in yards allowed with three weeks to go. The biggest culprit has been an inability to stop opponents from ripping off chunks of yardage. The Steelers have given up 11 plays of 50 yards or more this season, the most in the league. DYNAMITE DALTON: Dalton is having the best season of his brief career thanks in part to an offensive line that makes sure his No. 14 jersey looks the same at the end of the game as it did at the beginning. Dalton has gone three straight games without taking a sack. Its not a coincidence the Bengals are 3-0 in those games and have gone over 40 points twice. "I think any quarterback throws the ball better when theres not a lot of people around him," Dalton said. "Our line has done a good job, and we have to keep that going." BALANCE WITH BELL: The Steelers rank just 31st in the league in yards rushing, though they insist theyre happy with the ground game. Rookie LeVeon Bell is averaging over 90 yards from scrimmage per game thanks in part to his versatility. He already has 39 receptions, most of them on what are basically extended handoffs. GREEN VS. TAYLOR: Green has emerged as one of the top wide receivers in the league, but hes had trouble at times against Pittsburgh veteran cornerback Ike Taylor. Green caught six passes for just 41 yards in a 20-10 victory over the Steelers at home back in September. If Taylor can keep Green under wraps, the Steelers have a chance to postpone Cincinnatis party, at least for a bit. ___ AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org Nike Air Max 2016 Flyknit .At the Australian Open, the gulf between Djokovic and Murray is wide — the No. 1-ranked Djokovic has won the title each of the four times he has reached the championship match, while Murray has lost all three of his finals at Melbourne Park. Two of those losses final were to Djokovic — in 2011 and 2013. Better get well fast, LeBron.Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Rodgers began to wince on a scramble and went down in pain following a touchdown pass, but everything was ok when his quarterback sneak put the Green Bay Packers comfortably in front. Rodgers tossed both of his touchdown passes to Randall Cobb and the Packers won the NFC North for a fourth straight year following a 30-20 triumph over the Detroit Lions on Sunday. Green Bay (12-4) earned a first-round bye with the win and will be the No. 2 seed in the NFC. Rodgers re-aggravated his left calf injury suffered last Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers late in the first half and missed two Green Bay possessions. Matt Flynn, who started five games filling in for Rodgers last season due to his broken collarbone, came on to replace him for those two series. Rodgers began to show effects of the injury during the latter stages of the second. He cringed while tip-toeing on a scramble to move the chains on a 3rd- and-8 and fell down holding his left calf after flipping a 4-yard TD pass to Cobb. The Lambeau Field faithful cheered when he walked out of the tunnel following Green Bays initial touch of the third quarter. The Packers ripped off 16 straight points when Rodgers returned midway through the frame. The 2011 MVP was a limited participant in practice all week and was listed as questionable on Fridays injury report. Rodgers finished 17-of-22, while Flynn fired a 6-yard completion on his only pass attempt in the victory. Eddie Lacy carried the ball 26 times for 100 yards, Cobb caught four passes for 80 yards and Jordy Nelson hauled in six receptions for 86 yards for Green Bay, which went a perfect 8-0 at home. The Packers ran for 152 yards against the top-ranked run defense in the league. Detroit came in allowing just 63.8 yards per game on the ground. Matthew Stafford was 20-of-41 for 217 yards and three touchdowns and Calvin Johnson had four receptions for 39 yards and two scores for the Lions (11-5), who are the sixth seed in the NFC and will face the Dallas Cowboys in the Wild Card round. Rodgers re-entered the game after Stafford hit Johnson for a 4-yard TD pass aat the 7:34 mark of the third, which tied the game at 14-14. Nike Air Max Zero Danmark. . Rodgers fired a 29-yard dart over the middle to Cobb on his first pass attempt following his return and later hit him for a 13-yard score on a 3rd-and-4 to give the Packers a 21-14 advantage. Green Bays defense forced a three-and-out on Detroits ensuing sequence. Rodgers tossed a 12-yard completion to Nelson on a 3rd-and-18 to set the Packers up in fringe field-goal territory. Mason Crosbys 52-yard kick, however, was blocked. The Lions failed to capitalize after Joique Bell fumbled the ball on the very next snap. Morgan Burnett made the recovery. Rodgers flipped a 15-yard completion to Nelson to move the ball to the Detroit 10. Rodgers sneak with 8:45 to go made it 28-14. Green Bay added a safety with 2:32 remaining when Stafford was flagged for an intentional grounding in the end zone. Cobb muffed the ensuing free kick and Cassius Vaughn made the recovery for Detroit. Theo Riddick caught a 6-yard TD pass with 1:45 to play to cap the scoring. The two-point try was unsuccessful. Earlier, Green Bay was unable to punch the ball across the goal line on its opening touch despite having seven goal-to-go snaps. Lacy was stuffed on a 4th-and-goal from the 1 by a host of Lions. The Packers, though, found the end zone when Micah Hyde returned a punt 55 yards up the middle and down the left sideline to open the scoring at the 4:49 mark of the first. Montreal Alouettes wide receiver Arland Bruce issued a statement of apology on Tuesday regarding a post he made on social media about openly gay football player Michael Sam. Adidas Superstar 2 Damen 38 . "First, I would like to offer my deepest and sincerest apologies for any harm I have inflicted on University of Missouri defensive lineman, Michael Sam," the statement read. "Michael Sam is someones son, someones brother and it is neither my business nor my right to comment on his sexual orientation. My comment on Instagram was inappropriate and disrespectful, and I apologize for the lack of discretion." Bruce was fined on Tuesday by the CFL for a crude posting on social media urging Sam to "submit to God." "The comments made by these players are extremely disappointing and do not represent the CFLs views or the views of the vast majority of our players," CFL commissioner Mark Cohon said in a statement. "The CFL is supportive of openly gay athletes in professional sports and we commend the courage shown by Michael Sam. During the off-season, we have been working with an organization that specializes in this subject and look forward to announcing a formal partnership with them in the near future." The 36-year-old Bruce, a three-time CFL all-star and two-time Grey Cup champion, has played 11 seasons with Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton, B.C. and Montreal. The Olashe, Kan., native is going into his second season with the Alouettes. The Alouettes released a statement saying they "unequivocally denounce the regrettable comments made by Arland Bruce III. The statements and feelings expressed by Bruce III are disappointing and do not reflect the opinions and values of the Montreal Alouettes Football Club." In the same statement, Alouettes general manager and head coach Jim Popp said: "Our organization supports all types of diversity. Every individual is unique and free to make his or her own choices. We evaluate players, coaches and support staff based on their skill set and not by gender, colour, religion or sexual orientation. The Montreal Alouettes have a simple criteria to determine who can be a member of our organization. We seek individuals who will make a positive contribution to our team goals and to the Montreal community." Popp later said that no decision has yet been made on whether Bruce will remain with the team. He did not rule out releasing the veteran. "As an organization, well discuss the matter thoroughly and decide what to do next," said Popp. The following is the full statement released on Tuesday night: "First, I would like to offer my deepest and sincerest apologies for any harm I have inflicted on University of Missouri defensive lineman, Michael Sam. Michael Sam is someones son, someones brother and it is neither my business nor my right to comment on his sexual orientation. My comment on Instagram was inappropriate and disrespectful, and I apologize for the lack of discretion. I apologize to fans, teammates, and everyone else who has worked with me, supported me and believed in me throughout my career. I not only respect the game of football, I respect everyone who plays it, and it was not my intent to negatively affect anyone, especially this young, up-and-coming football phenom. I would welcome Michael Sam on my team any day, as I have no ill will towards anyone simply because they are gay. I have a brother and a half-brother who are gay, both of whom I love and respect greatly. To the Montreal Alouettes, the CFL/ CFLPA and the NFL/NFLPA – you are outstanding organizations that give many great men the opportunity to play this beautiful game. I have been very blessed to play on your team and in your league, and I am sincerely sorry for any adverse effects you have had to endure due to my actions. Finally, I want to make it very clear that my thoughts and opinions are my own and do not reflect those of either organization or anyone who is associated with me." Adidas Superstar 2 Damen .
