BERLIN - Germanys World Cup winners were given all-star treatment for the premiere of their celebratory film on Monday. Mitchell Trubisky Jersey .Players, coaching staff, football emissaries and invited guests gathered at glitzy Potsdamer Platz to see Die Mannschaft (The Team), a film that reveals some of the more intimate details from the sides tournament success. The players arrived all wearing dark suits, shirts and ties — perhaps an attempt to help the golden trophy that they proudly carried shine even more. Before the film started, FIFA president Sepp Blatter paid tribute to Brazil for hosting the best World Cup in years, despite all the negative things that were said before it.The film itself revealed small behind-the-scene details that helped contribute to Germanys fourth World Cup win — its first as a reunified country. Mitchell Trubisky Womens Jersey . Torres scored the first goal by an English team in the knockout phase of the Champions League this season when he met Cezar Azpilicuetas cutback in the ninth minute of their first leg match in the last 16. But Chelsea failed to make the most of its counterattacks and the Turkish champions equalized in the second half after gaining in confidence and cutting out their defensive mistakes. Mitchell Trubisky Youth Jersey . The young man, never lacking confidence, thought he could be really good. http://www.bearsfootballpro.com/Authentic_Mitchell-Trubisky_Bears_Jersey/ . According to a release sent by the league, the Saskatchewan Roughriders were the only team to exceed the cap. Their total salary expenditure of $4,417,975 was $17,975 over the salary cap of $4.DENVER -- Dillon Gee threw six scoreless innings and David Wright had one of New Yorks four RBI doubles as the Mets salvaged the final game of their series against Colorado, beating the Rockies 5-1 on Sunday. Gee (3-1) kept the Rockies off balance to run his scoreless string to a career-best 16 innings. The righty, 13-6 with a 2.66 since last May 30, surrendered six hits and struck out five, helping the Mets avoid being swept for the first time in a four-game series at Coors Field. Jhoulys Chacin (0-1) was rather rusty his first start this season, lasting five innings and giving up four runs. Chacin spent the first month on the disabled list with a strained right shoulder. Nolan Arenado ran his hitting streak to 24 games with a double in the fourth, the second-longest hitting streak in Rockies history. Justin Morneau accounted for Colorados only run with a ninth-inning homer off Jeurys Familia. After wasting a a 6-0 lead in Saturdays 11-10 loss, the Mets jumped to a 4-0 lead after four innings. Wright, Chris Young and Daniel Murphy had run-scoring doubles, while Curtis Granderson chipped in an RBI single. Lucas Duda added an RBI double in the seventh that increased the lead to 5-0. He also walked three times, including one intentional. Juan Lagares extended his hitting streak to a career-best 13 games with a single to start the game. Lagares originally had the day off, but was inserted into the starting lineup after Eric Young Jr. was scratchhed.dddddddddddd Young was hit just below the right eye by a baseball in batting practice before the game. Hes day to day with a bruised cheek. Gee was pinpoint with his command, keeping the Rockies guessing among his curve, cutter and slider. He found himself in a sticky situation in the seventh, but the bullpen bailed him out. With two on and no outs, Carlos Torres got two outs and Scott Rice recorded the third to wiggle out of the inning. This was opening day for Chacin, who was shut down early in spring training after experiencing inflammation in his throwing shoulder. He was teams top right-handed starter in 2013, going 14-10 with a 3.47 ERA. Chacin struggled with his control throughout the game as he gave up eight hits and walked five. He threw 86 pitches before handing things over to the bullpen. NOTES: After Gee went hitless in three at-bats, pitchers for the Mets are now 0 for 51 starting the season. Its the longest hitless streak to begin a season since 1900, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. ... Gee is 7-1 in his last 10 road starts. ... Mets manager Terry Collins said Kyle Farnsworth remains his closer despite allowing Charlie Culbersons two-run, game-ending homer Saturday. ... TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays recalled left-hander Rob Rasmussen from triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday. David Njoku Womens Jersey . The 25-year-old reliever has appeared in 13 games for the Bisons this season. He has a 0-1 record and 2.65 earned-run average with 19 strikeouts. The move was made two days after the team optioned right-hander Marcus Stroman to the Bisons. Zane Gonzalez Jersey . Miikka Kiprusoff had just announced his retirement after a decade-long run in Calgary and it would be up to Berra and Ramo to fill the void. Larry Ogunjobi Browns Jersey . - The Baltimore Ravens have hired Steve Spagnuolo to be their secondary coach and assistant head coach. http://www.brownsauthenticproshop.com/Youth-Jabrill-Peppers-Jersey/ . As the Winnipeg Blue Bombers opened their main training camp Sunday, Kuale is one of the newcomers brought in to bolster a sagging defence that ranked overall where the Bombers finished 2013, in the CFL cellar with a league high 585 points against.TORONTO – The Blue Jays wrapped up a nine-game homestand with a 7-4 win over Milwaukee on Wednesday afternoon and afterward, boarded a plane for the long flight to Californias Bay Area. It will be in Oakland, on Thursday night, where the club begins a 10-game, pre-All-Star Break road trip which will be a grind, both in terms of miles logged and quality of opponents. After four with the Athletics, the Jays travel down the pacific coast for three with the Angels and then across the southern part of the continent, concluding with three against the Rays in St. Petersburg. Then comes the Midsummer Classic in Minneapolis, where general manager Alex Anthopoulos expects trade discussions will begin to heat up. “We still have a month. A lot can change,” said Anthopoulos. “We started out June 5-0 and obviously we did play well down the stretch. I think you reassess at the All-Star Break and this trip will be part of it. As long as youre in the hunt is probably an important way to look at it. Knock on wood; unless we go on a long streak where we dont win some games and our competition goes on a streak, as long as youre still within reach, then its going to be a battle.” The Blue Jays approach the break in a unique position, legitimate contenders for a playoff spot for the first time in a generation. The lineup is veteran laden, built to win now. Jose Bautista is 33 years old, turning 34 in October. Edwin Encarnacion 31 and so is Adam Lind. Yet, theres understandable hesitancy to part with pieces viewed as part of the future core, including star pitching prospect Aaron Sanchez, whos now toiling at Triple-A Buffalo. Anthopoulos wades into unfamiliar territory but he approaches this deadline no different than those previous, willing to make any trade to improve his ballclub. There are no untouchables. He wont divulge priority areas so as to not create a competitive disadvantage in trade talks. The bullpen and an additional infielder, be it a second or a third baseman (Brett Lawrie can play the other spot), should be points of emphasis. He would be willing to acquire a third baseman. “Lets say theres an all-star calibre player, a great player, theree, I think wed be open to doing that,” said Anthopoulos. DeShone Kizer Womens Jersey. “That makes the team better. But I dont want to make that a story. Thats not the plan. Were not close to doing that. Were not actively pursuing that. Bretts our third baseman. Hes got the positional flexibility to play all over the place.” The starting rotation has been a pleasant surprise this season. Mark Buehrles 10 wins and 2.50 ERA have led the way. J.A. Happ, with seven more effective innings on Wednesday, has solidified himself after missing the start of the year injured and returning out of the bullpen. Drew Hutchison has run hot and cold but is a promising young pitcher. Marcus Stroman has fit in well and R.A. Dickey is logging innings even though the results have been mixed. The organization believes Sanchez, 23, has turned a corner with the Bisons after struggling for parts of this season with his command. Hes changed his arm slot slightly, staying better on top of the ball as a result. Anthopoulos didnt deny Sanchez could contribute to the Blue Jays down the stretch. “To me, if he can do it again, Im convinced that they got him right on track and hell be ready if we have a need,” said Anthopoulos. HOFFMAN AND PENTECOST SIGN The Blue Jays locked in their two first-round picks from last months amateur draft. General manager Alex Anthopoulos confirmed that Jeff Hoffman (ninth overall), a 21-year-old right-handed pitcher out of East Carolina University and Max Pentecost (11th overall), a 21-year-old catcher who attended Kennesaw State University, signed for their bonus slot. Hoffman cashes in slightly more than $3-million; Pentecost comes in just shy of $2.9-million. Hoffman underwent Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery in May. Its club policy that no pitcher appear in a competitive game until at least one year after the procedure was completed. Hoffman is in Florida, in the early stages of his rehabilitation. Pentecost is in Dunedin, getting back into baseball shape after his college season ended about a month ago. Pentecost is waiting for his passport and when it arrives, hell report to the Blue Jays short season affiliate in Vancouver. Nolan is staying on as the head coach beyond this season after signing a three-year contract extension Monday. The deal comes 4-1/2 months after Nolan returned to Buffalo for a second stint -- this time, initially, on an interim basis. And its a reward for Nolan, who has provided a spark to a young, patchwork lineup on a last-place team. "I said back in November that it was a dream to be able to come back and coach the Sabres, and thats still true today," Nolan said. "Im excited by the challenge facing our team and our organization. And Im truly thankful to have this opportunity." The extension was more of a formality than a surprise. The two sides established the framework of a contract about a month ago and agreed to the deal in principle last week. Nolan took over in mid-November after coach Ron Rolston was fired along with general manager Darcy Regier after Buffalo got off to a franchise-worst 4-15-1 start. The Sabres (20-45-9) havent done much better at 16-30-8 under Nolan and are likely to finish in last place with only two weeks left in the season. Buffalo is 1-10-1 in its past 12 games in preparing to host New Jersey on Tuesday. Record aside, rookie GM Tim Murray is impressed by the job Nolan has done during what he called "a trying situation." "I dont know if there was one Eureka moment," Murray said. "But I certainly got to the point where I knew I wanted him back, and I wanted him to be our head coach. And that wasnt yesterday or the day before." The next step is providing Nolan more talent. "We have to get him better players," Murray said. "It doesnt take a genius to figure that out." The Sabres are a shell of the team that last made the playoffs in 2011, with Nolan the teams third coach in a little over a calendar year. Regier began purging an over-priced and under-achieving roster last seasson. Raekwon McMillan Youth Jersey. And Murray, who was hired in January, completed the overhaul in the days leading up to the NHL trade deadline on March 5. Thats when Buffalo made four trades, including one that sent goalie Ryan Miller and captain Steve Ott to St. Louis. The future looks promising with the team having stockpiled a series of first- and second-round draft picks over the next three years. Nolan has a reputation as a motivator with a solid track record of developing young players. This is Nolans second stint in Buffalo. He went 73-72-19 in two seasons before leaving in the summer of 1997 because he was unhappy with the teams one-year contract offer after being selected the NHLs coach of the year. Nolan then spent two seasons coaching the New York Islanders and led them to the playoffs in 2006-07, before being fired after the following season. Nolan also enjoyed a successful stint at the Sochi Games, where he coached Latvia to an eighth-place finish -- the countrys best in five Olympic appearances. Sabres players greeted the news of Nolans contract extension as an important first step toward establishing stability. "Hes a guy that I think is perfect for this type of rebuild as far as motivation and making sure the right guys are staying around," forward Drew Stafford said. "Its been a real challenging season, a lot of shake-ups, a lot of changes. To get that interim tag off is definitely some stability now." Nolan is staying on even though Pat LaFontaine -- the person who brought him on board -- abruptly stepped down as Sabres president of hockey operations on March 1, after only 3-1/2 months on the job. Thanking LaFontaine for the opportunity, Nolan said hes focused on the head coaching job. "Im really excited about going with the next step forward and helping shape this team into a very competitive team," Nolan said. "With Tims knowledge in getting us the right players, hopefully, I can coach them good enough to win." TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays offence was one of the most feared in the major leagues through May and early June. Mike Williams Womens Jersey . The inevitable cold spell has arrived. The Minnesota Twins blanked Toronto 4-0 on Tuesday night at Rogers Centre, handing the Blue Jays their third shutout loss in four games. "Thats the way it goes sometimes," said Toronto manager John Gibbons. "When youre not hitting, youre not scoring runs, youve got to match them on the mound and we didnt do that." Twins starter Kevin Correia (3-7) threw six-plus innings and three relievers completed the seven-hit shutout in front of an announced crowd of 20,681. Brian Dozier homered as Minnesota (30-33) won for the second time in six games. Toronto (39-27) pulled out a 5-4 walkoff win in the series opener Monday after dropping a pair of 5-0 decisions to the St. Louis Cardinals over the weekend. The Twins and Blue Jays will close out the three-game series with a matinee on Wednesday. "We just couldnt get anything going offensively," Gibbons said. "I mean thats what it comes down to. Three out of four days shut out, you dont expect that. But quick turnaround tomorrow." The Blue Jays remained 5 1/2 games up on second-place Baltimore in the American League East standings. The Boston Red Sox blanked the Orioles 1-0. Danny Santana opened the game with a walk and scored when Dozier homered in his first at-bat for the second straight night. He turned on an 0-1 pitch from Toronto starter J.A. Happ (5-3) for his 14th home run of the season. The Blue Jays had some chances early on but stranded five runners over the first two innings. Correia settled down after that and retired 13 straight batters before giving up a two-out single to Adam Lind in the sixth. "It looked like he was kind of searching to find it but once it got going he got his confidence, (he) started making pitches," said Twins manager Ron Gardenhire. "Great performance by him." Minnesota padded its lead in the fourth inning when third baseman Juan Francisco hurried a throw to first base and launched it high, allowing two runs to come across. Chad Jenkins relieved Happ after the play and allowed just one hit over 3 1/3 scoreless innings. Its the first time Toronto has been shut out in three of four games since 1990 when they failed to score over a three-game stretch. "You cant put up seven runs every game, its just impossible," Jenkins said. "But theres no doubt that these guys will come back and well start scoring more runs and start winning more ball games." Correias night came to an end when Dioner Navarro singled to open the seventh. The right-hander gave up six hits and a walk and had one strikeout. Happ allowed six hits, three earned runs, three walks and struck out three over 3 2/3 innings. It was Minnesotas fifth shutout of the season and Torontos fourth shutout loss of the year. The Twins outhit the Blue Jays 9-7. Notes: The game took three hours seven minutes to play. ... Blue Jays right-hander Sergio Santos (elbow) began his rehab assignment with the double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Tuesday. He gave up three hits, three earned runs and a walk while striking out two over one inning of work. ... Marcus Stroman (3-0, 5.40 ERA) is scheduled to start for Toronto in the series finale. The Twins will counter with fellow right-hander Phil Hughes (6-2, 3.46). ... Minnesota has an off-day Thursday before continuing its season-long 10-day road trip with a weekend series in Detroit. The Blue Jays will kick off a four-game series at Baltimore on Thursday. ... Jose Bautista singled in the first inning and has reached base safely in 63 of his 66 games this season. ... Twins right-fielder Oswaldo Arcia was hit by a pitch in the leg in the fifth. On the next pitch, Eduardo Nunez fouled a ball off his leg and also hopped around in pain. Both players stayed in the game. ... Jose Reyes singled in the seventh inning to extend his hitting streak to a season-high 11 games. He has reached base safely in 35 of his last 37 games. ... The Blue Jays signed their second round draft pick RHP Sean Reid-Foley and fifth round draft pick CF Lane Thomas on Tuesday. PHILADELPHIA -- Kyle Lowry slept in his own bed, left about 50 tickets for family and friends, then gave his hometown crowd a reason to cheer. Leonard Fournette Jaguars Jersey . Lowry had 18 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds for his fourth career triple-double, and DeMar DeRozan scored 34 points to help the Toronto Raptors beat the Philadelphia 76ers 104-95 on Friday night. "As long as its with a win, Im happy to have it," Lowry said. "Ill take the thanks from the team and congratulations from all my teammates. But as long as it came with a win, thats all that really matters." Lowry grabbed his 10th rebound late in the fourth quarter, continuing a string of strong games hes had for the Atlantic Division leaders. Hes a Philadelphia native and played two seasons at Villanova. He didnt get a chance to stop by his old school -- though current and former Wildcats had to be watching. Lowry was nearly flawless in his latest homecoming, and didnt commit his first turnover until there were about 2 minutes left in the game. He shot 7 of 11 and hit a trio of 3-pointers in 35 minutes to help keep the Raptors in control of the worst division in the NBA. "Its always special to play here," Lowry said. He had help putting the game away. DeRozan scored 16 points in the fourth, including seven straight early in the period as the Raptors opened a double-digit lead. In a game in which neither team could build much of a lead, DeRozan finally helped the Raptors take control in the final quarter. He had a dunk, hit a 3-pointer and nailed a mid-range jumper to give Toronto some breathing room. Patrick Pattersons jumper made it 96-83. The Sixers made a short run to close to 98-91 but didnt have enough left for one more rally. "When we got a chance to put a stronghold on it, we closed it out," Lowry said. The Raptors snapped a four-game losing streak on the road. DeRozan scored a career-high 40 points in Torontos 93-85 win over Dallas on Wednesday night. He connected on 15 of 22 field goal attempts and went 9 for 14 at the free throw line, becoming the seventh player in Raptors history to score 40 points or more. Against the Sixers, DeRozan made 10 of 22 shots and 13 of 16 free throws. The Raptors moved to .500 on the road (11-11) and are 22-20 overall. But the other four teams in the division all have losing records, including Philadelphia, so theyve been good enough to sit atop the standings. The Raptors are 16-8 since they traded Rudy Gay. "They make the trade, and it ends up a little bit addition by subtraction in many ways," Sixers coach Brett Brown said. "They get a little bit more of an identity and a defensive purpose. And I thought they were really good. I always felt like they were a pretty good defensive team." Spencer Hawes had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the 76ers. Michael Carter-Williams scored 20. The Raptors opened the game on a 15-2 run, the Sixers countered with a 20-5 spurt, and from there it was pretty much even. "I liked the start. We had an excellent focus and sustained it as long as we could," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. The Sixers could never get their perimeter game going, scoring 50 of their 78 points through three quarters in the paint. Philadelphia missed 14 of 20 3s overall. Thaddeus Young scored 16 points. "We got good shots, but just went cold," Young said. "Theyre just a good team. In the past, it was a point where, the Toronto Raptors walk in and its going to be an easy win. But they have a lot of key guys on that team that can do a lot of different things." NOTES: Sixers G Tony Wroten (right ankle) sat out. ... The Sixers signed C Dewayne Dedmon to a second 10-day contract. ... There were 12 lead changes and 15 ties. ... The Sixers have scored fewer than 100 points in eight of the last 10 games after scoring 100-plus in seven straight. ... The Sixers committed a season-low 10 turnovers. Dede Westbrook Youth Jersey . OAKLAND, Calif. Chris Wormley Jersey . - Look past the hot-shooting touch of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, the pace-and-space attack under rookie coach Steve Kerr and the highlight-worthy plays the Golden State Warriors deliver every game.Beyond the surface of the NBAs biggest crowd-pleaser is an often disregarded trait: defence. For the past three years, the Warriors have been a dominant defensive team disguised as an offensive juggernaut. Theyve taken that to the extreme this season, shutting down opponents on one end and running away from them on the other.Of course, the latter is what seems to stick in the minds of most. Its easy to fall in love with the offence, Thompson said. No one watches SportsCenter to watch the defensive rotations. You watch it for the highlight dunks, the Steph Curry dribbling exhibitions, his shooting and his passing. I think its easy to overlook it.Despite the prolonged absence of centre Andrew Bogut, the Warriors enter Wednesday nights home game against the Indiana Pacers as the leagues top two-way team. They have the best record in the NBA at 27-5. They have the best home record at 14-1. And they have the biggest scoring differential at 10.7 points per game. While the Warriors are shooting a league-high 48.3 per cent, theyre holding opponents to a league-low 41.8 per cent shooting. They also rank first in defensive efficiency (96.2), a trendy statistic that measures the number of points allowed per 100 possessions.Thats right: the same franchise that captivated the country with Run TMC in the early 1990s and the up-tempo We Believe team in the 2007 playoffs is at the forefront of defensive efficiency. So why, then, is there a lingering perception that the Warriors are just an offensive team?Probably because its really fun to watch Steph Curry and Klay Thompson play basketball, Kerr said, chuckling. The highlights show a bunch of 3s and the crowd going crazy. Thats my explanation.Kerr has gone out of his way to credit his predecessor, Mark Jackson, for laying the defensive foundation — which he said was so solid that his staff didnt really change anything about the schemes other than the terminology players use to communicate. The team has grown together and the personnel has slightly changed, though, such as adding 6-foot-7 guard Shaun Livingston to a team already loaded with length. The only other difference, Kerr said, is he challenged Curry to guard the other teams point guard every night instead of the weakest perimeter player. And more often than not, Curry has come through. We understand that (defence) is going to help us win games in the playoffs, Curry said. When that time comes, we can rely on it to get us through, hopefully, a lot of playoff series. It has been a focus and something weve seen the results of. Theres no other reinforcement we need to understand how important it is.The versatility on defence is what makes the Warriors special. They switch on pick-and-rolls and off-the-ball screens at every position but centre. That allows them to take away driving gaps and avoid tiring and unnecessary rotations.Draymond Green has been brilliant starting at power forward, a job he has cemented even since David Lee returned from a left hamstring injury. Marreese Speights and Lee also have played surprisingly well as undersized centres with Bogut (right knee) and backup Festus Ezeli (left ankle) out indefinitely.Players also credit the focus and attention to detail that has come with the addition of longtime NBA assistant Ron Adams, who is the de facto defensive co-ordinator. He sits with players before games to go over individual matchups and assignments depending on the opponents lineup. The result has put seven Warriors in the top 31 in defensive rating — Bogut (ninth), Lee (12th), Green (18th), Curry (19th), Thompson (26th), Andre Iguodala (27th) and Harrison Barnes (31st) — and might exemplify as well as anything just how much the defence has been an all-around effort. It shows in the numbers, it shows in the games, it shows in the record, Green said. Were going to continue to get better defensively and well continue to grow. Eventually, people will catch on.___Antonio Gonzalez can be reached at: www.twitter.com/agonzalezAP Tyus Bowser Ravens Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. Tim Williams Womens Jersey . With an overall record of 59-63, including 6-9 last week, TSN football analyst Chris Schultz is back with his Week 9 selections in the NFL in Risky Business. Chris Wormley Youth Jersey . New Orleans (-2.5) at Carolina The Panthers did play the Seahawks tough in losing by only four points but Seattle had five opportunities to put the game away and did not capitalize so I do think that 13-9 score is misleading. Youre never sure which team will show up for the Saints - the one that beat the Packers 44-23 or the one that has lost seven road games in a row. Heres a fact about three of their four road losses this year: the Saints had the lead in the fourth quarter against the Falcons, Browns and Lions only to lose by 3, 2, and 1 point. This one will be close but I like the Saints. New Orleans. Tampa Bay at Cleveland (-6.5) The Bucs have had two blowout losses this year, at Atlanta and at home against Baltimore two weeks ago. Every other game has been within one touchdown. For the Browns at 4-3 they are still a possible playoff team by record but do need to improve the run game and on third down. The Bucs need to score first as they have lost 16 consecutive games when the opponent gets on the board first. Bucs on points...Tampa Bay. Arizona at Dallas (-4) The Arizona Cardinals are quietly, very quietly one of the NFLs best teams over the last 16 games, this and last year. In the last 16 they are 13-3. And they do win in the most dramatic ways. Last week they used an end zone interception and late fourth quarter touchdown passes to beat the Eagles 24-20. For the Cowboys they must clarify the procedures in blitz pick up to protect Tony Romo. And it should happen because Cowboy mistakes in protection were much more mental than physical. The Cowboys will try to re-establish DeMarco Murray who only had 19 carries against Washington. The Cardinals will try to hit the big play early and often to keep the pressure on Romo to make the key plays, not Murray. Another key is the health and availability of Patrick Peterson. Cardinals need him to compete directly with Dez Bryant. Cardinals. Philadelphia (-2) at Houston Its the second road game in a row for the Eagles after the Arizona game and that is a tough challenge. Nick Foles as a quarterback has definitely come back down to quarterback reality with 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Last week in Arizona he had 411 yards passing but 62 attempts. The game to me is more about Arian Foster and LeSean McCoy than Foles and Ryan Fitzpatrick. The team that wins will be the one with the more productive running back. It will be good to see Jadeveon Clowney in uniform for the Texans but more fun to watch him compete against one of the best left tackles in football, Jason Peters. Eagles. New York Jets at Kansas City (-9.5) The Chiefs have won their last two home games by a combined 75-21 score. Its significant that Michael Vick will make his first start in a long time and although getting all the practice reps will help he really will have to double his quarterback rating to compete, which is currently 49.9. Percy Harvin will make an impact and the Jets defensive front seven is good but the Chiefs are rolling and I think they will continue to do so. Kansas City. Jacksonville at Cincinnati (-11.5) The Bengals are going to win but by how much? In the last 13 games they have 12 wins and one tie at Paul Brown Stadium. If the trend continues the Jaguars will have difficulty scoring points. The only time this season where they scored more than 20 was in their only win over the Browns at home when they scored 24. Denard Robinson, the ex-Michigan Wolverine quarterback is the Jaguars leading rusher, not Toby Gerhart. Pressure is off a little for Cincinnati after they beat Baltimore by three last week. Blake Bortles has to improve and I think he will. Cincinnati wins but Jacksonville keeps it close on points. Jaguars. San Diego at Miami (-2) The Dolphins have won two in a row and the Chargers have lost two in a row. But the Chargers are coming off Thursday Night Football in Denver so traveling west to east should not be a big issue, lots of preparation time. For Miami to win they need a good pass rushing game and a good time of possession game. Right now Philip Rivers is playing his best football with 20 touchdown passes and just five interceptions. Miami has to hurry him as a quarterback and keep the ball away from him so he cant run a lot of plays as a quarterback. Ryan Tannehill had 56 first half yards against Jacksonville. San Diego has lost to Arizona, KC and Denver. With extra time and good play from DJ Fluker and King Dunlap I can see a tough but three-point win for the Chargers. San Diego. Washington at Minnesota (-2.5) Will RG3 start or will it be Colt McCoy? McCoy was impressive in the 20-17 win over Dallas on Monday but now has to play a Viking team that in the last three games has allowed 13, 17 and 17 points. If I was running Washington I would go with McCoy for one more game as the Redskins do have a bye week and could have a healthy Griffin III for the last seven games with the first being Tampa Bay at home. Trent Murphy has filled in for Brian Arakpo, DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon are good receivers, and Alfred Morris as a running back can close out a game. Washington should be confident, Vikings just a touch complacent. Washington. St. Louis at San Francisco (-9.5) The 49ers are coming off the bye week and the timing is good. After three straight wins they lost in Denver and looked tired and beat up and Peyton Manning took advantage. For St. Louis they did trade for Mark Barron with Tampa Bay which means they dont have extreme confidence in the secondary they presently have. How will Greg Robinson play as starting offensive tackle for the Rams, replacing Jake Long? Robert Quinn vs. Joe Staley. The 49ers offensive tackle won Round 1, now can he win Round 2? I do think San Francisco coming off a bye will be rejuvenated but the 49ers handled the Rams in St Louis already, they can do it again here. 49ers by 10 to cover the number. Oakland at Seattle (-15) I am not sure how the Raiders are going to score more than 15 points because outside of one game, a 31-28 loss to San Diego, the Raiders have yet to score more than 14. The Seahawks know they have to get on a roll and fast, since Arizona is good and San Francisco is getting healthy. I dont think Seattle will be complacent against Oakland and being back home after two road games the stadium noise will be at an enthusiastic high. A score of 28-10 sounds good to me. Seattle covers, Seahawks. Denver (-3) at New England Great game. Records of 6-1 against 6-2. Both teams are coming off slightly misleading victories. Denver beat San Diego 35-21 as the Chargers were without their top three running backs and two cornerbacks. New England cruised 51-23 over Chicago but the Bears lacked NFL intensity throughout in one of the most uninspired performances in that franchises history. But in reality this is the 16th Brady vs. Manning game about to be played. Brady has won 10, Manning five, and New England has won 13 straight at home at Gillette Stadium. On top of that, Brandon LaFell is becoming an impact receiver. Home underdog, and I will stay with the home team. Patriots. Baltimore at Pittsburgh (Pick em) These are two completely different types of offences when it comes to producing touchdowns. The Ravens have more drives of 80-plus yards than any other NFL team, they will grind you into submission if you let them. The Steeler receivers are maturing together led by Antonio Brown. He has an NFL record going of at least five catches for 50 yards in the last 24 games. Pass protection was an easy challenge for Pittsburgh last week, it wont be this week. It is tough to beat the same divisional team twice in half a football season. Especially when Baltimore does not have perhaps its best cornerback in Jimmy Smith. Pittsburgh. Indianapolis (-3) at NY Giants It is hard to explain how a team like the Colts can shut out the Bengals one week and then give up 51 to Pittsburgh. No Vontae Davis, no Erik Walden is one reason but I do think the Colts will respond. Coming off the bye week, the Giants will be healthy but can they create a pass rush and protect as well as Pittsburgh. Andrew Luck has thrown for 300 or more yards in six straight games, breaking a Peyton Manning record. The Giants have not allowed 300 yards to a quarterback in five of their last six games. What gives? The Giants defence. Colts. Chris Wormley Jersey . CHICAGO -- This time, the Chicago Cubs were shut down by Mat Latos. Starlin Castro had an RBI single for Chicagos only run in a 4-1 loss to Latos and the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night. The Cubs began the day with a .232 team batting average, which was next to last in the National League. They managed just six hits in the series finale against Cincinnati. "The story for us has been that were not scoring enough runs for the starting pitchers and for this bullpen," catcher John Baker said. "Its frustrating for us position players." Its also frustrating for first-year manager Rick Renteria. "Theyre all chipping away at their approaches, but were facing some pretty good chuckers too," he said. "We just obviously werent able to generate a whole lot of runs." Edwin Jackson (5- allowed four runs and six hits in 5 1-3 innings for Chicago, which has dropped four of five. Starlin Castro had two hits and drove in a run. "Its a tough lineup. Theyre going to make you work," Jackson said. "I thought for the most part I was able to contain them until the sixth inning. They kind of busted it open a little bit." With the wind blowing in on a cold summer night, Devin Mesoracos five-game homer streak came to an end. The Reds catcher was tied with Adam Dunn, Ken Griffey Jr., Johnny Bench, George Crowe and Ted Kluszewski for the franchise record. Latos (1-0) allowed one run and five hits in seven innings in his third start after beginning the season on the disabled list. It was his first win since Sept. 2 against St. Louis. Latos was coming off a frustrating no-decision against Toronto, when he was staked to an 8-0 lead and was unable to hold on. He gave up five runs and nine hits in 5 2-3 innings as the Blue Jays rallied for a 14-9 victory Friday night. Thee Cubs fell to 12-31 against Cincinnati over the last three seasons. Pinch-hitter Justin Ruggiano doubled off the front of the basket in right field with two outs in the ninth. The call was upheld after Renteria called for a review, and Chapman struck out pinch-hitter Mike Olt to end the game. Cincinnati went ahead to stay with three runs in the sixth. Todd Frazier scored from first on Joey Vottos opposite-field double to left. After Mesoracos single, Jay Bruce lined a double off third baseman Luis Valbuenas glove to drive in Votto. Jackson struck out Chris Heisey before James Russell came in, and Skip Schumaker executed a perfect suicide squeeze to give the Reds a 4-1 lead. "It was the first one in my life. College, big leagues, you name it," said Schumaker, who also had two doubles in the game. "I saw the sign. It worked out." Bruce put the Reds in front with a two-out double down the right-field line in the first, scoring Frazier from second. Votto tried to hustle home from first but was cut down at the plate on Darwin Barneys relay throw. The Cubs tied it in the fourth. Ryan Sweeney reached on a leadoff double, advanced on Anthony Rizzos groundout and scored on Castros base hit. NOTES: Reds 2B Brandon Phillips was out of the lineup for the third straight game with a bruised right heel. ... RHP Dallas Beeler will make his major league debut in Game 1 of Chicagos day-night doubleheader Saturday against Washington. The 25-year-old Beeler is 5-3 with Triple-A Iowa. ... TORONTO - For his new radio job, Dean Blundell will have to leave his old character behind. Davis Webb Womens Jersey .Gone is the shock-jock style that he relied on in his rock radio days. Blundells flirtations with the boundaries of good taste are over too. When he makes his debut as morning show co-host on Sportsnet 590 The Fan in early March, the controversial host will be expected to deliver a more mature broadcast for the Toronto all-sports radio stations listeners, according to Sportsnet president Scott Moore.Hes a bold move, a risky move one might say, Moore told The Canadian Press on Tuesday. I spent a great deal of time with him when we were looking at whether or not to make this decision and Im convinced hes going to be a terrific fit.Blundell spent almost 13 years with Toronto rock radio station 102.1 The Edge before his departure last January. The on-air banter on The Dean Blundell Show frequently drew the ire of the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council. The Edges parent company, Corus Entertainment, suspended the show in December 2013 following a segment where several gay men involved in a Toronto criminal trial were ridiculed on the air. A show producer and on-air personality had served as the foreman on the jury.Earlier that year, the CBSC found that comments made on a January 2013 segment about wrestling and homosexuality were discriminatory, stereotyping and degrading under the Canadian Association of Broadcasters code of ethics and equitable portrayal code.Blundell kept busy over the last year with a regular podcast on his personal website. He also had a brief trial run with the Fan and Moore was impressed. We found him to be a great team guy, Moore said. We saw an uptick in interest. Our audio streaming numbers were like triple or quadruple what they had been. He does bring an audience and thats what were in the business of. He brings an audience, he also interestingly brings some advertisers that are interested in him.Hes a personality and as long as you have some parameters around the personality and the personality understands what the brand is, those are the things you look for in building a radio station or a brand.Blundell will work with co-host Andrew Walker, while current co-host Greg Brady will move to early afternoons starting March 30. Brady will take over the current timeslot occupied by Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro, who will move to an early evening television show slot starting July 1.The morning show, dubbed Dean Blundell & Co., begins March 2. A third co-host is expected to be added in the near future.Theyre going to hear a different Dean Blundell, Moore said. Theyll hear a very talented Dean Blundell — a very knowledgeable sports guy. But theyre not going to hear the edgy quote shock jock that they have been familiar with in the past.Reaction to the hiring was mixed on social media. Some Twitter users welcomed his return while others strongly disapproved.I dont think anyones career should be defined by one or two ill-chosen words, Moore said. Im convinced that hes a standup guy, hes a great team guy and I think he very much wants to prove that.Moore is so confident in Blundells ability to perform in his new role, hes not going to bother with a tape delay before the show is broadcast.People deserve a chance in life, Moore said. And most people deserve a second chance in life. He didnt do anything thats illegal. He may have offended a few people, for which he has apologized. Im a fan, I think hes an excellent broadcaster and I think hell fill the role really well. There will be some people that will choose not to listen to him at first. But I think for those who do choose to listen to him, theyll be impressed.---Follow @GregoryStrongCP on Twitter. PAUL, Minn.WASHINGTON -- One day after their general manager was unexpectedly fired and playing without their second leading scorer, the Cleveland Cavaliers managed to snap their six-game losing streak. Luol Deng was out with flu-like symptoms, and Kyrie Irving, who missed shootaround because he was ill, fought through his sneezing spells to help lead the Cavaliers to a 115-113 win over the Washington Wizards on Friday. Irving had 23 points and tied a career high with 12 assists and made all 13 of his free throws. Dion Waiters scored 24 points and C.J. Miles had 18 for Cleveland. "Im all right. Its the best that Im going to get right now," Irving said. The second-year guard admitted that the firing of Chris Grant, who drafted him, was troubling. "Thats the sad part, the bad part about our business. Things are going to change whether you like it or not and you still have to go out there and perform as a professional. It was probably on our minds but we cant use it as an excuse," Irving said. Cleveland took a 67-63 lead at halftime when Irving hit four free throws just before the intermission and never relinquished it. The Cavaliers took a 101-87 lead three minutes into the fourth quarter, but the Wizards, who were led by John Walls 32 points and 10 assists, couldnt make up the difference. Martell Webster hit two late 3-pointers to cut the lead to 115-113 with 2.9 seconds left. Clevelands Jarrett Jack missed two free throws with 2.2 seconds remaining. A scramble resulted with Washington getting possession with 0.2 seconds left, but couldnt get off a final shot. The near comeback didnt impress Wizards coach Randy Wittman. "We wait until the last four minutes to fly around and decide to play defence. Last four minutes of the game. Everybody will say, you gave a great effort coming down the stretch. No we didnt. For 44 minutes we didnt give an effort," Wittman said. His team didnt heed his warnings. "We told them what that organization is going through right now. Some tough times with the firing of theirr GM. Wayne Gallman Youth Jersey. Theyre going to be desperate. It always happens no matter who it is that gets fired," Wittman said. Washington fell to 24-25. Its the 12th time theyre one game under .500 this season. The Wizards were one game over .500 after Mondays win against Portland for the first time since Oct. 31, 2009, but they lost in double overtime to San Antonio on Wednesday. "Were not a very good team. Good teams dont do that over and over and over and over again. We can get all caught up in .500, and I told you guys what that meant. Nothing. And think youve arrived. Good teams do not lose basketball games like this nine, ten, 11 times halfway through a season," Wittman said. Marcin Gortat had 19 and Webster 18 for Washington. "We have a lot of fans coming in, paying to watch good basketball at a high level. They expect us to win games like that -- and were losing," Gortat said. Waiters scored just four of his 24 points in the fourth quarter when he was just 2 for 7 from the field. "The energy was different, these guys knew what was at stake after going through a situation where we went through. We faced adversity and it wasnt the first time for us but at the end of the day we came out here we played hard, played for one another and we got a big win," Waiters said. Grant came under fire after he chose Anthony Bennett with the first overall pick last June. Bennett has struggled in his first months with Cleveland, though coach Mike Brown, a longtime friend of Grants, defended Bennett before Fridays game, saying hes shown great improvement recently. Bennett had eight points. NOTES: Clevelands Alonzo Gee had a season-high 11 points. . Wall addressed the fans before the game, thanking them for their support in All-Star Game voting. The fourth-year guard will play in the Feb. 16 game in New Orleans for the first time. .Washington F Al Harrington hasnt played since Nov. 12 because of right knee surgery. Wittman said he thinks Harrington will play again this season, but wouldnt put a timetable on it. ALBUQUERQUE, N. Zach Cunningham Jersey .M. - Former UFC lightweight champion Benson Henderson needed an impressive victory over an unheralded Rustam Khabilov to keep his name relevant in the 155-pound title picture, and he delivered, submitting the gritty challenger in the fourth round. The bout served as the headlining matchup of Saturdays "UFC Fight Night: Henderson vs. Khabilov" event, which took place at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque, N.M. Khabilov (17-2) was impressive to start the fight, utilizing powerful strikes and impressive grappling to rattle Henderson (21-3) in the early going. But as the bout wore on, the former champion gained steam and the Russian began to slow. In the fourth round, southpaw Henderson clipped Khabilov with a tricky lead uppercut-left cross combination that sent his opponent toppling to the canvas. Henderson immediately jumped on his opponents back and locked in a rear-naked choke. Trapped, Khabilov had no choice but to tap out 76 seconds into the frame. "Anybody who wants to fight for the belt, come see me," Henderson said after the win. In the nights co-feature hometown lightweight Diego Sanchez (25-7) delivered a typical crowd-pleasing performance, moving forward from start to finish and looking to brawl with British slugger Ross Pearson (15-7). And while it appeared he had come up short at the end of the three-round affair, judges awarded Sanchez a controversial split-decision win. The three-round matchup was a contrast in styles, as Pearson looked to remain technical and move in and out of range. Meanwhile, Sanchez looked to punch, kick and wrestle his way to victory any way possible. As Pearsons strikes started to add up, blood trickled down Sanchezs face. It was an entertaining scrap, but one that Pearson appeared to have won. Two of three judges saw it differently, much to Pearsons dismay. UFC president Dana White, who watched the fights on TV from his home in Maine, called the fight a "robbery." "What can I say?" Pearson asked after the surprising result. "Im confident that I won every round. I didnt get hit once. I guess its my fault for leaving it in the hands of the judges." In a key flyweight matchup, top contender John Dodson (16-6) made his claim for a second crack at the promotions 125-pound belt with a scintillating win over John Moraga (14-3). While the pace was moderate for much of the match, Dodson exploded when the opportunity presented itself, eventually rattling off a series of punches punctuated with a knee that broke Moragas nose. While Moraga made it to the end of the second round, the attending doctor waved off the fight before the third round began. "I really wanted to go to that third round, so Im a little disappointed," Dodson said. "I feel like we cheated the fans out of another five hard minutes. I was landing my shots very well, and it seemed like a caught him with everything I threw." Current UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson puts his belt on the line against Russian slugger Ali Bagautinov at next weeks UFC 174 event in Vancouver. Byron Ritchie and Jacob Micflikier each scored twice to lead the way for Canada, which jumped out to a 3-0 first-period lead before letting Rochester back into the game in the second. "It was nice to go into the locker-room after the first period with that lead but you had the feeling it wasnt over," Canada coach Doug Shedden said. "Then a couple of mistakes, a couple of little things and in this business you just cant make those little mistakes because they add up to big things, and once they made it 4-3 we had a monster on our hands." Canada was able to re-establish momentum in the third period, and two more goals put the game out of reach. "I was really third with our third period, I thought it was textbook hockey," Shedden said. Canada will play Swiss club HC Geneve-Servette in Mondays semifinal. Geneve-Servette had an automatic berth to the semis after finishing first in its group. The game will reunite Shedden and Geneve-Servette head coach Chris McSorley, who was an assistant coach for Canada when it won last years Spengler Cup. "(McSorleys) teams playing a more North American style of hockey. They chip pucks in and theyre a hard-forechecking team that drives the net hard, so I think youre going to see similar styles," Shedden said. After starting sluggishly in a 3-2 loss against host HC Davos on Saturday, Canada came out flying against the Americans. Ritchie gave Canada a 1-0 lead at the 7:30 mark, then Miicflikiers two goals put the Canadians up 3-0 heading into the first intermission. Davis Webb Womens Jersey. Rochester came back in the second, capitalizing on Canadian mistakes. "We made a blind pass behind the net on their first goal and then we took a penalty and before you know it its 4-3. So our management skills were kind of dumb in that area," Shedden said. Shedden said the team went back to basics in the third period, and goals from Ritchie and Alexandre Giroux clinched the win. "Our point was we get hard forechecking and we stick to our (system) and get the turnovers, and dont let them in our zone," Shedden said. "I thought we did it really well in the third period." Derrick Walser also scored for Canada, while Ahren Spylo added three assists. Chris Mason got the start in goal for Canada and gave up three goals over 22 shots over the first 40 minutes. He left after the second period with an injured groin. "He came to me after the second period and said I should have pulled myself after the first goal because thats when I felt it, but I thought I could stick it out," Shedden said. Allen York replaced Mason in the third and stopped all five shots he faced. Nathan Lieuwen started fort Rochester and surrendered three goals on 14 shots in the first period. Matt Hackett came in at the start of the second and stopped 19 of 22 shots the rest of the way. Alexander Hutchings, Dan Catenacci and Joel Armia scored for Rochester, which is the American Hockey League affiliate of the NHLs Buffalo Sabres. But unfortunately for the Niagara Falls, Ont., native, a pulled muscle wouldnt allow him to go past the second set. Japan sealed its victory over Canada in the first-round Davis Cup tie after Nishikori downed an ailing Dancevic 6-2, 1-0. Later Sunday, Peter Polansky of Thornhill, Ont., lost to Go Soeda in the fifth match 6-1, 6-4 to increase Japans margin to 4-1. "Kei came out playing really well today and once I pulled a stomach muscle early in the second set there was no way I could stay with him when I could only serve at 20 per cent..." Dancevic said. "Under other circumstances I probably wouldnt have even stepped on the court with the way I was feeling, but this is Davis Cup and I wanted to give it all I had and push to the limit because this situation means a lot to me." Dancevic, ranked 119th in mens singles, held his serve during the first game, but World No. 18 Nishikori went on to break twice and win the next five games to eventually take the set. ANAHEIM, Calif. Jamal Adams Youth Jersey . -- Once the Anaheim Ducks wiped out a four-goal deficit, all the stress shifted to the visiting Winnipeg Jets. Stephane Robidas scored 16 seconds into overtime, and the Ducks staged the biggest comeback in team history by rallying from four goals down to beat the Jets 5-4 on Monday night. "Youre down 4-0 and you come back 4-4, now the pressure is on the other team because they gave up the lead," Robidas said. "We just tried to play our game, and I got lucky and it went in." Andrew Cogliano and Luca Sbisa assisted on Robidas fifth goal of the season. Anaheim outshot the Jets 25-6 in the third period and outscored them 3-0 to force overtime. Corey Perry tied it 4-4 with 22.7 seconds remaining in regulation, scoring his 39th goal after Anaheim pulled rookie goalie Frederik Andersen for an extra skater. "If Im going to the net and crashing around the blue paint, thats where Im effective," Perry said. "If Im not doing that, Im not playing my game." Nick Bonino cut the Ducks deficit to 4-1 in the second period, and Ryan Getzlaf and Hampus Lindholm scored in the third to set up Perrys heroics. Andersen (18-5) stopped 32 shots. The Ducks (49-18- established a franchise record for most wins in a season. "When you always believe you can win, youre never out of the game," Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said. "I think that was what happened. We were so vastly outplayed in the first 35 minutes of the game. "When Nick Bonino scored and Freddie Andersen made the big save 20 seconds later, we thought if we could get another one, you never know." The Ducks never stopped attacking. "We didnt get a great start," Perry said. "We said if we keep pushing and playing that style we established in the second half of the second period, no team can play with us. Thats the way weve got to keep playing." The Jets struggled to put into words what happened in their collapse. "Youre just awfully disappointed because you liked so much of what you saw, and then to have it go away ... its just frustrating," Winnipeg coach Paul Maurice said. Defenceman Mark Stuart echoed that sentiment in just as few words as Maurice. "Its frustrating," he said. "Theres not a whole lot to say right now. Its shock after a game like that." Anaheim remained atop of the Pacific Division, three points ahead of idle San Jose with a game in hand. The Ducks trail Western Conference-leading St. Louis by one point. Jacob Trouba, Matt Halischuk, Blake Wheeler and Eric Tangradi scored for Winnipeg, which is last in the Central Division. The Jets are 1-2-1 on their road trip that ends Tuesday at Phoenix. Winnipeg took a 1-0 lead on Troubas ninth goal of the season 8:48 in. Bryan Little earned an assist to extend his point streak to six games. Later in the period, Winnipeg took advantage of a Ducks mistake in their zone and made it 2-0. Halischuk scored his fifth of the season at 13:39. Winnipeg dominated play in the first period and outshot the Ducks 19-4 and had a 31-11 edge in shots after two periods. The Jets increased their lead to 3-0 just 33 seconds into the second on a power-play goal by Wheeler, Winnipegs goal leader with 27. The Jets have scored five power-play goals the past five games. Tangradi added Winnipegs fourth goal of the game, from Zach Redmond and Anthony Peluso, midway through the second period. "It wasnt pretty. They were all over us," Robidas said. "You have to give them credit because they came out hard. We didnt really show up in the first period. Its a lesson learned. We need to move on now." Boninos 20th of the season brought the Ducks within 4-1 with 2:16 left in the second. Getzlaf added a power-play goal, his 31st tally of the season, at 3:06 of the third, and Lindholm made it 4-3 just 1:13 later. Patrick Maroon had two assists for the Ducks. Teemu Selanne, who began his NHL career and scored 147 goals with the original Winnipeg Jets, played his final game against the new Jets franchise that relocated to Winnipeg from Atlanta in 2011. Selanne has scored 684 career goals. NOTES: The Ducks opened a three-game homestand and will play four of their remaining seven games at home. ... On a night he managed only a season low for strikeouts, the St. Louis right-hander still found ways to dominate. Wainwright allowed four hits over 7 2-3 innings, Matt Carpenter continued to feast on San Francisco pitching, and the Cardinals ended a scoring drought, beating the Giants 2-0 Wednesday night. "To come away with a way on a night I walked the pitcher, Ill run out of here," Wainwright said. "That was a big win for us." Carpenter had three hits and drove in a run, improving to .520 (26 for 50) against the Giants to help the Cardinals end a three-game losing streak. Matt Holliday added two hits and an RBI. "I dont think there is any rhyme or reason to it," Carpenter said. "I stay with the same approach and just try to help the team." Wainwright (11-4) took over the NL lead in ERA (1.89) and wins. He walked two and struck out one and his infielders combined to record 18 outs. "I was aware of that," Wainwright said. "Im getting outs, so why change? When you start thinking about strikeouts, then you start going deeper into counts. Guys were making great plays and laying out left and right." The closest the Giants came to scoring was in the eighth, when Tyler Colvin sent a drive to the wall in centre field and defensive replacement Peter Bourjos hauled it in. Joe Panik, who had two hits, was the lone Giant to venture past first base, reaching third with two outs in the sixth and again with two outs in the eighth. Ryan Vogelsong (5-5) gave up two runs on six hits over seven innings. He walked one and struck out eight. Vogelsong lost his second straight start despite a 2.08 ERA with a walk and 15 strikeouts over that span. "He had all his pitches going, good tempo out there," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "For him to give up two runs, seven innings, thats a great job." The Cardinals ended a 26-inning scoreless streak by scoring twice in the thiird. Marcus Maye Youth Jersey. Oscar Tavares doubled and Mark Ellis singled. After a strikeout, Carpenter and Holliday each singled in runs. Carpenter has hit safely in 14 of his 16 games against the Giants, including the last 10 10. "Were still trying to figure out a way to score runs," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. "Those were big RBIs there. It lets Wainwright do what he does. Its no secret hes the guy we want on the mound." Vogelsong retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced, allowing one hit the rest of his outing. "It doesnt matter, its a loss," Vogelsong said. "Im tired of talking about stuff. The Mike Kelly era, as short-lived as it was, kicked off a troubling five-year period for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Gareon Conley Raiders Jersey . Save for the season after their Swaggerville run to the Grey Cup – one that ultimately didnt pan out – Bombers fans have been subjected to the same hope-filled off-season rhetoric; what makes this the year they turn it around when the same pre-season confidence a year ago led to just more troubling results? And in a lot of ways this year could be similar. New general manager Kyle Walters was part of the old guard and new starting quarterback Drew Willy, he of just 147 career CFL passing attempts, cannot be considered the for-sure answer at quarterback. That isnt to say these things wont turn around this season, but old GM Joe Macks hiring got a lot of people excited in 2010, returning to the city where he won a Grey Cup before gaining extensive experience in NFL front offices; and Stefan LeFors, Buck Pierce, and Alex Brink all had failed tenures as quarterback of the future. But there is some tangible evidence the team could be breaking out of their five-year fog. Mike OShea leads the list of smart moves the team made in the off-season to quietly start a foundation that could lead to success. Its been a while since the Bombers landed a coveted candidate at head coach. OShea has been ticketed as someone to watch for years now after following up a very impressive playing career with a promising stint as special teams coordinator in Toronto. The Canadian football lifer oozes leadership and has the opportunity to set the standard for the Bombers roster as he helped to do with some strong Argonauts rosters the past couple years. Keeping Marcel Bellefeuille around as OSheas offensive coordinator gives the team a play caller with both head coaching and successful coordinator experience on his resume. And adding Danny McManus, by all accounts an up-and-comer in the player evaluation world, should be of benefit to Walters in the front office. And aside from losing out on the Zach Collaros sweepstakes – Willy was a decent consolation prize – the team added some important free agents to help in the culture change Winnipeg is undertaking. Nick Moore, who some had tabbed for the NFL after his breakout season, should be a fine replacement for Terrence Edwards as the go-to option in the receiving corps. And Korey Banks, who was added after a contract squabble with the BC Lions, still has a lot of game left to go along with his leadership and winning mentality. Maybe this year wont be any different than ones previous, theres really no way of knowing if the new regime fits together to make a winner or not. And there likely wont be an easy team to pick off in the East Division. But aside from bringing with them a fresh air and new way of thinking, OShea and company have a winning attitude that could finally reverse the fortunes in Winnipeg. If youre apt to believe a change of culture is a noticeable step on the way to respectability, the Bombers could finally be making the first moves towards contending this season. Notes West Division The Blue Bombers are returning to where many CFL fans feel they belong, the West Division. With the Ottawa Redblacks joining the league and East Division, Winnipeg will jump back to the West, alongside the Lions, Stampeders, and Eskimos, and of course their longtime rivals in Saskatchewan. Terrence Edwards Retires Blue Bombers fans havent had a lot to cheer about the past couple years but one constant was Terrence Edwards tremendous play at receiver. Edwards spent seven of his nine CFL seasons in Winnipeg, five of which he surpassed 1,000 yards receiving, scoring a combined 46 touchdowns. Expansion Draft The Redblacks used the first two rounds of the expansion draft to nab from Winnipeg a promising young receiver in Wallace Miles, and a strong special teams player in FB James Green. The Bombers didnt suffer a loss in the third round however as the Redblacks selected impending free agent Rory Kohlert, a non-import receiver. Ottawa never signed Kohlert to a contract extension and he returned to Winnipeg just months later as a free agent. Free Agency Winnipeg should be relatively pleased with their off-season haul. They locked up some solid players on their own roster and landed a star receiver to replace Edwards in former BC Lion Nick Moore, and a quarterback they hope can lead the team now and in the future in former Saskatchewan Roughrider Drew Willy. CFL Draft With the second overall pick the Blue Bombers landed a solid offensive line prospect in Matthias Goossen, who they hope will be a mainstay for years to come. Winnipeg also selected McGill LB Jesse Briggs in the second round, Simon Fraser DB Derek Jones in the fourth round, Mount Allison DL Quinn Everett in the sixth round, and McMaster LB Aram Eisho in the seventh round. With the 2014 tournament ready to begin, TSN and TSN.ca have named the All-Time, All-World WJC team - 13 forwards, seven defencemen and two goaltenders who played in the Under-20 event with distinction. Making up the No. 1 line is the Canadian trio of Jeff Carter, Eric Lindros and Jordan Eberle. Carter led Canada in goals at the 2005 tournament and is tied for third-most career goals by a Canadian (12) Hes one of four forwards in tournament history to make back-to-back all-star teams (Vladimir Krutov, Vladimir Ruzicka and Michal Pivonka are the others) and one of only two Canadians with double-digit career games to average a goal per game. The other one to do so is Eberle. Hes one of six Canadians to be named tournament MVP since the honour was introduced in 2005 and averaged 2.2 points per game - the highest such mark for players with more than 10 games played. Lindros, a man amongst boys in junior, was a dominant force in the tournament from 1990 to 1992. Hes the only player to lead Canada in points in two tournaments and earned points in 11 of 14 games played in 1991 and 1992. The second scoring unit is the Russian combo of Alexander Ovechkin, Alexander Mogilny and Pavel Bure. Ovechkin played in three World Junior tournaments from 2003 to 2005, scoring 14 goals and 25 points in 18 games. Mogilny represented the Soviet Union in 1988 and 1989, winning the Best Forward award in 1988 after leading the tournament in scoring. Joining Mogilny on those impressive runs was Bure, who – with centre Sergei Fedorov – helped power the Soviets to gold in Anchorage in 1989. The third line is made up of standouts Peter Forsberg and Markus Naslund, centred by Wayne Gretzky. The Great One played just one year at the World Juniors – and what a year it was. The skinny kid from Brantford, Ontario led the tournament in goals, assists and points in 1978, all at the age of 16. He averaged and all-time single tournament high of 2.8 points per game and is tied for the second-most points in single tournament for Canada. Forsberg and Naslund provided an impressive 1-2 punch for a powerful Swedish side that scored an astounding 53 goals in 1993. Forsberg set records with 24 assists and an unbelievable 31 points, whhile Naslund had 24 and also set a tournament record with 13 goals. Obi Melifonwu Jersey. Rounding out the forward ranks are Canadas Kris Draper, Mike Richards and Martin Lapointe – tough grinders who helped lead Canada to a combined five gold medals – along with 13th forward Jonathan Toews who was part of gold medal-winning teams in 2006 and 2007. The first pairing on defence is Canadas Dion Phaneuf and Marc Staal. Phaneuf, who made highlight reels with his thunderous hits and aggressive pplay (ask Rostislav Olesz), is the only two-time all-star defenceman to represent Canada and one of only four in history of tournament. Staal was the ultimate shutdown player on the blue line, helping guide Canada to back-to-back gold in 2006 and 2007. While Mikhail Tatarinov didnt have a long and distinguished NHL career, he was a dominant force at the World Juniors and shares the second pairing on TSNs team with fellow countryman Ilya Byakin. Tatarinov won a gold medal with the USSR in 1984 and 1986 and a bronze in 1985. In 1985 and 1986, he was placed on the tournament all-star team and he was named the top defenceman in 1986. Byakin was named the tournaments top defenceman in 1983, helping lead the USSR to a perfect 7-0 record en route to gold. Filling out the blue line are Canadas Gord Kluzak, Brent Tully and Ryan Ellis. Manny Legace had a standout performance in the 1993 World Juniors – his only campaign in red and white. Hes tied for most wins at one tournament (six) for Canada and put in a memorable outing by stopping 58 of 60 shots against Finland in a 3-2 Canada win. Legaces single season performance is rivaled only by Russias Evgeny Belosheiken – the second goaltender chosen for TSNs All-Time All-World Team. He was named the outstanding goaltender of the 1986 World Junior Championship in Hamilton as the USSR went undefeated, winning seven games and surrendering only 14 goals. Ottawa, ON (SportsNetwork. Duke Riley Womens Jersey .com) - The draw for the 2015 Womens World Cup took place in Canada on Saturday and it saw the United States placed in maybe the toughest group along with Sweden, Australia and Nigeria. The Americans were drawn into Group D, and with the field having been expanded from 16 to 24 teams for the 2015 tournament, it was expected the team would receive a fairly favorable draw. However, Sweden will represent a big challenge in the group having already beaten the U.S. in the Algarve Cup this year, while Australia and Nigeria will both be playing the role of spoiler. The hosts, Canada, find themselves in Group A along with China, New Zealand and the Netherlands, making the Canadians firm favorites to win their group. Defending champions Japan were placed into Group C, where they should have little trouble navigating their way through Switzerland, Cameroon and Ecuador. Germany will be big favorites to top Group B, although Norway should provide a bit of test, with Ivory Coast and Thailand both looking like outsiders. Group E is expected to be won by Brazil, with Korea Republic, Spain and Costa Rica battling it out for second place. The final group, Group F, contains France, which figures to be a serious contender to lift its first womens World Cup trophy. The French are joined in that group by European rivals England along with Colombia and Mexico. BROSSARD, Que. Chris Godwin Jersey . -- Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price said Saturday the "lower body" injury he suffered in the NHL Eastern Conference final wont need surgery. Prices playoffs ended in the second period of the series opener after New York Rangers forward Chris Krieder crashed into him while on a breakaway. He would only call it a lower body injury, although he was wearing a brace on his right knee in the days after the incident. "Over time its going to get back to normal," he said. "I actually got really lucky, it could have been a lot worse than it was." Price lay on the ice for a moment after the collision early in the second period of New Yorks 7-2 victory, but finished the period. He was substituted by back-up Peter Budaj for the third. No penalty was called on the play, although teammate Brandon Prust said Kreiders crash was "accidental on purpose." "I dont think he did it intentionally and I dont think he tried to miss me either," said Price. "He was coming in with a lot of speed and he lost his footing. "Theres not much really to be said. Im not going to go seeking revenge or anything like that. Hockey is a game of chance and unfortunately, I was unlucky in that situation." Budaj was beaten for three goals in his one period of action and coach Michel Therrien made the surprise decision to start third-stringer Dustin Tokarski for the rest of the series. Tokarski, who had only played 10 NHL regular season games in his career and had no playoff experience, was solid in goal, going 2-3-1 with a 2.60 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage. Price had been 8-4-1 with a 2.35 average and a .919 save percentage. "That was probably one of the hardest situations you could ever throw a guy into and he really excelled," Price said of Tokarski, a former rival in the junior Western Hockey League. "He showed why hes won at different levels. "Hes an awesome guy and Ive got to tip my hat to him. He did an awesome job." It left Budaj out to dry. The Slovak has a year remaining on his contract but looks to have been bumped to third-string status. Price feels for him. "Its definitely a tough spot," he said. "Peters one of the genuinely nicest human beings Ive ever met. "Hes an unbelievable backup. Hes one of the best friends I have on this team and he showed a lot of character. He never hung his head, never pouted and he showed the utmost support for everybody, including Dustin. It takes a special person to do that." Price was on an accelerated rehab program after the injury. Going from a five-minute skate to a half hour in pads and then practising with his teammates. He said he should have been able to play if the team reached the Stanley Cup final. "I would have been pushing my luck to come back real quick, but obviously the time of year I would be trying to come back real soon," he said. "Obviously, in the playoffs you play through things, and thats what I wanted to do. But theres also the reality that no matter how bad you want to play and how bad you want to get in there, theres also a question of how effective you are going to be. That was a decision that we had to make." He said the injury was not related to the one he suffered while backstopping Canada to gold at the Sochi Olympics in February. The 26-year-old plans to continue rehab in Montreal for a short spell and return home to British Columbia to heal and get ready for next season. O. J. Howard Youth Jersey . BALTIMORE - Orioles third baseman Manny Machado began serving a five-game suspension Monday, nearly three weeks after Major League Baseball initially levied the sentence and five days after his appeal hearing. Cameron Sutton Steelers Jersey . Machado was suspended and fined on June 10 for intentionally throwing his bat on the field during an at-bat in Baltimores game against Oakland on June 8. Machado immediately appealed the suspension, and spoke for about an hour Wednesday in an appeal hearing in Baltimore with MLB official Joe Garagiola Jr. The initial decision was upheld, meaning Machado will miss the Orioles four-game series against visiting Texas that began Monday, along with Friday nights game in Boston. "When we went in for an appeal I thought we had a good case, we had a great case," Machado said Monday afternoon. "We said what we had to say. It didnt come out how we wanted it to, but going into the appeal you know its going to be 50-50. Its something you cant control. I think we did the right thing, its a flip of the coin and we came up short. ... So now were just going to have to deal with the consequences." So will the Orioles, who will be forced to play with a 24-man roster. Chris Davis, who usually plays first base, was at third base on Monday night. "Thats the worst part about it. Were down a man," Machado said. "Obviously I dont want to put my team in that situation, especially five tough games." Machado tossed his bat in the direction of third base during a plate appearance in which Oakland reliever Fernando Abad threw successive high-and-tight pitches. After the bat went soaring, both benches emptied. Machado and Abad were ejected. Abad was fined but not suspended. "I didnt throw the bat at the pitcher. I didnt harm anybody. And Im going to get five games," Machado said. "I didnt charge the mound. I didnt get in a fight. ... This is an unfortunate event and Im going to have to deal with it." Orioles executive vice-president Dan Duquette said: "Obviously, we were disappointed. We were hoping the suspension would be reduced, and we thought there were good reasons it should have been reduced." In the opener of that series against the Athletics on June 6, Machado yelled in the face of Oaklands Josh Donaldson after the third baseman tagged him on the chest and caused him to lose his balance. Both benches emptied, but there were no ejections. "It sounded like they were giving him four games for the bat and they were also giving him an additional game for the Friday night," Duquette said. "I hadnt heard of a case where they went back and retroactively apply a suspension. ... The umpires didnt recommend any discipline; Manny stayed in the game. So that was kind of puzzling." Machado, 21, said he learned a lesson from the experience. "Dont do it again," he said. "You dont want to be in this situation. No one wants to be in it. Well just go from here and try to put this behind me and just go on playing baseball." Orioles manager Buck Showalter hoped the five-game sentence would be lowered after the appeal, but was ready to move on after the punishment remained in place. "It was surprising," Showalter said. "Were not going to dwell on it. We understand the rules and why things are in place for different reasons. There are repercussions for actions in baseball as there are in life in general. Hopefully, there will be some positive that comes out of it where Manny is concerned in the future and for all players, managers and coaches." Machado missed the first month of the 2014 season recovering from off-season knee surgery and got off to a slow start at the plate. Just before Mondays suspension, however, he had 10 hits over an eight-game span to raise his batting average 15 points to .239, and he also hit three home runs in his previous four starts. That made the timing of the suspension even tougher to take. "Definitely. It just (stinks)," he said. "I was starting to feel a little better at the plate and here they come with that bomb, five games. It was going to come. It was just about time to come. Unfortunately it came in the wrong spot, but hey, nothing you can do about it." JuJu Smith-Schuster Youth Jersey . The defeat leaves the 41-year-old Nestor to concentrate on the mixed-doubles event after winning 12 straight matches and winning Australian titles in Brisbane and Sydney with two different partners. FORT MYERS, Fla. Sean Harlow Youth Jersey . -- Minnesota Twins slugging prospect Miguel Sano will have Tommy John surgery on his throwing arm and miss the 2014 season. The 20-year-old third baseman had been trying to rehabilitate a strained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He was hurt in October while playing winter ball in his native Dominican Republic. Twins doctors, along with orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews, recommended rest for Sano in early November. Despite making strides during a two-month throwing program, Sano reported pain in his elbow after making an off-balance throw during an intrasquad game Thursday. An MRI exam revealed a partially torn ligament. "When I threw a couple days ago, (there was) no injury, no pain, nothing. When I threw to first, it hurt a little and I talked to the trainer," Sano said. "I think when I come back I will be the same player." The Twins said the surgery will likely take place in March. "We wanted to give him an opportunity to try and rehab it," Twins assistant general manager Rob Antony said. "If it would have worked, he wouldnt have missed the season. It didnt work." The recovery period for position players is shorter than it is for pitchers undergoing Tommy John surgery. The Twins expect Sano to resume hitting in about four months, and he should return to playing the field in eight months. Sano hit a combined 35 home runs last season between Class A Fort Myers and Double-A New Britain while batting .280 with 103 RBIs and counts Boston slugger David Ortiz among his mentors. On the ensuing penalty kick, Lee Nguyen picked up his fourth goal of the season, giving the Revolution a 2-1 win Saturday afternoon.Dublin farewelled Brian ODriscoll in style last weekend. The great man sweetened the occasion with a magic effort against Italy, tarnished later only by his rendition of Barry Manilows "Copacabana" in the changing room. While it was a fitting celebration of ODriscoll, theres symmetry in him bowing out of international rugby on Saturday in a likely Six Nations title decider in Paris. Thats where he launched himself on the rugby worlds consciousness in 2000 with a hat trick of tries in Irelands first win there over France in 28 years. To that point, he was an Irish star with 10 tests. Marked for great things as a teen with humility masking a ferocious competitiveness, he made his Ireland debut on the 1999 summer tour of Australia at age 20. Man-of-the-match awards in Irelands first two tour games made him a must-pick opposite Wallabies Dan Herbert and Tim Horan. ODriscoll held his own, and again in that years World Cup, where Ireland exited the group stage, embarrassed by Argentina. That was Ireland rugby then, a graveyard of dreams for more than a decade. But ODriscoll gave the side a world-class talent beside hooker Keith Wood, and a back who could create and score tries and return hope and thrills to Lansdowne Road. It took a 50-point hiding from England in the 2000 Six Nations opener for then-coach Warren Gatland to introduce the likes of John Hayes, Simon Easterby, Peter Stringer and Ronan OGara, who became stars of the new millennium as Irelands fortunes prospered. When France was overcome 27-25, Ireland had three wins in the championship for the first time in 15 years. ODriscolls was the first hat trick by an Irish player in the championship in 47 years. "It was lucky that I was in the right place at the right time," he said with a modesty that remains. ODriscoll has gone on to rack up a world record 140 tests, 139 of them starts, a record 132 for Ireland, the most Six Nations matches (64) and tries (26). He captained Ireland for 10 years to 2012 a record 83 times, and has 47 test tries, a record 46 for Ireland. He played in fouur World Cups without success, and only one win from four British and Irish Lions tours. Takkarist McKinley Jersey. Ireland also has won the Six Nations only once, when he scored tries in four of their wins in the 2009 Grand Slam. A second title beckons on Saturday. The statistics reward lasting class. But his legacy interests him more. ODriscoll woke up to the requirements of being professional during his first Lions tour in 2001, a tour de force for him. Hes responsible for revolutionizing Ireland, said captain Paul OConnell, in the team since 2002. "Hes spread confidence across the whole setup," OConnell said. "I grew up watching Ireland in the 90s and maybe that confidence wasnt there when an Irish team took the field. Any team that takes the field with Brian in it always feels they have a chance of winning. "When Brian finishes, that confidence will remain in the Irish setup, because a few players have moulded themselves on him a little bit and realized this is what you need to be to be the all-round rugby player." The 35-year-old ODriscoll has also remodeled himself. He has only one try since the 2011 World Cup, and no longer accelerates through gaps. But where his leg speed has declined, his mind has only sharpened. Ask Italy, victims last weekend. ODriscolls sleight of hand and awareness set up three of Irelands first four tries. He believes his caps records will be broken, and has been grooming potential successors Robbie Henshaw and Darren Cave. Ireland has an abundance of midfield talent, he said. In giving advice, "Hes been generous to a fault," Ireland coach Joe Schmidt said. Where ODriscoll ranks among the great centres is another debate. Some in Ireland still consider him second to Mike Gibson, who retired in 1979, also after 15 years, as the world caps record-holder. No matter. ODriscolls greatness is set. Hell close a circle on Saturday at Stade de France. There, after that hat trick in the stunning victory in 2000, France coach Bernard Laporte said, "We could not stop him." Only time has. Federers 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 win in less than two hours restored order for the 15,000 Swiss fans who saw Australian Open champion Stanislas Wawrinka surprisingly lose the opening singles match. "I was very satisfied with my performance," Federer said. "It doesnt change in terms of being 1-0 up or down -- I have to make sure I played my match." Wawrinka, ranked No. 3 after his first Grand Slam title, was beaten 7-6 (5), 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (5) by 64th-ranked Andrey Golubev. Federer and Wawrinka, doubles champions at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, are scheduled to team up Saturday against Kazakh doubles pair Aleksandr Nedovyesov and Evgeny Korolev. Wawrinka received a huge ovation stepping on court at the Palexpo indoor arena for his first match in Switzerland since becoming a Grand Slam champion in January. However, there was a stunned near-silence when Golubev converted his sixth match point with an overhead winner. The third-ranked Wawrinka acknowledged starting "a little bit tight, a little bit nervous." "When Im in that position I know that I dont move so well," he said, after making 70 unforced errors and converting just one of his 10 break points. The Swiss No. 1 also smashed his racket on the hard-court surface in frustration during the second set. Golubev, who lost to Wawrinka in the first round in Australia, overcame his early nerves to win a first-set tiebreak. "I tried to be always aggressive, didnt give him too much time," he said. Wawrinka, who played in a 5-0 loss against Kazakhstan in 2010, said the heavily favoured Swiss would not be complacent. "We didnt come here thinking it was going to be an easy tie," he said.
