Billy Payne wore a smile as wide as the Augusta National fairways as he watched eight kids file out of the room with their trophies from the inaugural Drive, Chip and Putt Championship on the Sunday before the Masters. Mariano Diaz Real Madrid Jersey . "Were going to be hearing from some of these kids again," he said. Yes, but six weeks later? An 11-year-old girl who won her age group in the youth competition before the Masters has played her way into the U.S. Womens Open next month at Pinehurst No. 2. Lucy Li, a sixth grader with braces and a sharp short game, made history Monday at Half Moon Bay with rounds of 74-68 to become the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Womens Open. Not only did she earn a spot at the biggest event in womens golf, she won the 36-hole qualifier by seven shots. Its another example that golf has no age limits. The record for youngest qualifier had belonged to Lexi Thompson, who was 12 when she made it to the 2007 Womens Open at Pine Needles. Its only fitting that when Li signed up for the Drive, Chip and Putt, she listed Thompson as among her favourite players. Li, from the suburbs south of San Francisco, still wont be the youngest player. Beverly Klass was 10 when she played in 1967, but that was when the U.S. Womens Open didnt have qualifying. Judy Rankin was a 14-year-old prodigy from Missouri when she entered the 1959 U.S. Womens Open at Churchill Valley Country Club in Pittsburgh. "When I went to register, they asked me if I was registering for my mother," Rankin said Tuesday. "I weighed 80 pounds. I remember the first tee was way up high. I was shaking. I was so scared, so nervous. I thought I could fall off. I didnt even make the cut. I was probably ill-prepared to be playing. But the next year, I was low amateur." Teenagers in the U.S. Womens Open are nothing new. Morgan Pressel, who went on to become the youngest major champion in LPGA Tour history at 18, qualified for the U.S. Womens Open in 2001 when she 12. Michelle Wie was 12 when she qualified for her first LPGA Tour event, and she was in the final group at a major when she was 13. Lydia Ko was 15 when she won the Canadian Womens Open two years ago, making her the youngest winner in LPGA history. Now shes in range of becoming No. 1 in the world. In mens golf, Matteo Manassero won twice on the European Tour before he had his drivers license. Ryo Ishikawa won his first professional tournament when he was 15. Jordan Spieth nearly won the Masters last month at age 20. And who can forget Guan Tianlang, the 14-year-old from China who made the cut at the Masters last year? Even so, two numbers are enough to get anyones attention — "11" and "sixth grade." "This is ridiculous," Dottie Pepper said Tuesday, more amazed than concerned. Earlier in the day, Pepper was on Twitter and tried to get her head around an 11-year-old teeing it up at Pinehurst No. 2 when she noted that Lis date of birth was "THIS CENTURY. Whoa!" Rankin and Pepper both attributed the increasing achievements by teens — pre-teens in Lis case — to modern equipment and coaching. Li began playing when she was 7 by whacking a few golf balls on the range while waiting for her brother and cousin to finish a golf tournament. She now works with Jim McLean. And this is not the first time Li has written herself into USGA history. She set a record last year in the U.S. Womens Amateur as the youngest qualifier at age 10. She also was the youngest in the U.S. Womens Amateur Public Links to reach match play, losing in the first round to a college player. "For people with talent, regardless of age, todays equipment is making the game a lot easier to learn," Rankin said. "For talented people, they are learning the game quicker and easier. That has a big bearing on it." Rankin also points to the very best in golf being on television so often, and the fact that kids copy what they see. "No one in the world is better at mimicking than children," she said. "I can go way back to a friend of mine from U.S. Amateur days, Helen Sigel Wilson. She always said the way to teach a kid how to play good golf is only let them see great players. They can figure it out." Sooner than later, thats what theyre doing. Marcelo Jersey . The article states that according to court papers filed last week, Yuri Sucart said he would reveal Rodriguezs secrets unless he paid him enormous sums of money.” Rodriguez, who is coming off a year-long suspension from baseball, obliged and on June 5, 2013 agreed to pay his coousin $700,000 followed by three more payments that would total $200,000. NEW YORK, N. Tre Mason Rams Jersey .Y. - From the moment John Smoltz stood on a chair to place a cap atop 6-foot-10 Randy Johnsons head, it was clear this gathering of baseballs newest Hall of Famers was going to be different than those in past years.I just wanted to be funny, Smoltz said Wednesday at the Waldorf Astoria hotel. Hes 6-10 and he was struggling with his jersey. I was trying to help him with his hat.The always canny Pedro Martinez greeted Craig Biggio with an apology of sorts.Im extremely honoured to be here with all of you. Craig. I know I brushed you back a couple of times. It wasnt intentional, he said.On this day, the fierce competitors were all teammates in jerseys with Hall of Fame in red script stitched across the chest.I still love you, Biggio said. Its OK.There was a lot of love, laughter and admiration among the largest induction class elected by the writers since 1955. Some of the highlights of the nearly hour-long news conference:WHATS A FEW INCHES AMONG FRIENDS?On his connection with former Braves teammates Gregg Maddux and Tom Glavine, who were known for pitching on the corners — sometimes getting a wider strike zone than usual:Everyone kind of assumes the three of us together and links us together, Smoltz said. Everyones feeling is we got 6 inches off the plate. I didnt, by the way. So dont believe that. I didnt. I didnt.Biggio answered Smoltz several minutes later: I agree with John. It wasnt 6 inches off the plate. It was more like 6 to 10.OLD GOATSMartinez on being elected to the Hall, where he visited when he was a young player with the Montreal Expos and had an immediate appreciation of the games history:I couldnt imagine how the game was. I could only wonder, but Im extremely honoured to be going back now, being part of it, being looked at as an old goat. Thats what we all became. We became old goats now. Theyre going to be like, Oh, look, thats Pedro, thats John. That was back then. So we all became old goats after yesterday.FAKING ITSmoltz got some good advice on how to put away batters:I learned it from Tom Glavine who never really showed any emotion, which is the reason why he won 300 games and was a Hall of Famer. I learned if you didnt have what you needed that day, fake it; dont let them know.Johnson had a different take on faking it:For me it was hard to fake. You either saw 95 to 100 (mph) or you didnt. ... The one thing I had going for me is I could throw really hard. I was kind of like that Sports Illustrated story that came out a long time ago (The Curious Case of Sidd Finch from April 1, 1985), a kid wearing overalls in a hay field, being able to throw a hundred miles an hour. That was me. I was like Nuke LaLoosh in Bull Durham that hit the mascot. I was a combination of all that until it finally came together for me.MEMORABILIAAs an 18-year-old playing for the Dodgers rookie team in Great Falls, Montana, Martinez was called up to pitch for Class A Bakersfield in the playoffs, a little more than 100 miles from Dodger Stadium, where his brother Ramon was pitching. Martinez went to visit his brother and came across a memorabilia auction:As a kid, I remember watching Reggie Jackson. He was the only one that could pimp a homer back in those days. ... Ramons friend goes, You want that ball? Im like, Yeah, I would like to have it. You have the 250 bucks? All I had to do was reach in my pocket, pull it out. I knew it was 250. So I was handing it to the person, Here, buy it.No, no, no. You dont get it that way. You sign your name there. If it happens that nobody bets on it, then you get it. All 250 bucks, 1990, that I made in my last 15 days of work in Montana, I paid for a Reggie Jackson signed ball.Smoltz isnt so nostalgic:Im pretty bad at it, Ill admit. I never really asked for autographs growing up. Im better today, but Ive been known to play catch with my 200th win ball with my son. I dont know where a lot of stuff is.NEW YORK, NEW YORKJohnson made his first start after being traded from the Montreal Expos to the Seattle Mariners in the Bronx on May 30, 1989. It didnt take the University of Southern California pitcher long to meet a fellow Trojan — and baseball Hall of Famer:Tom Seaver is walking behind me as Im going into the clubhouse with my suitcase. I played for the legendary college coach Rod Dedeaux at USC. He called everybody Tiger. ... Its also a calling card that when you hear someone say Tiger to you. You know thats USC alumni baseball. Tom Seaver yelled out, Tiger, Tiger, Tiger, you cant be carrying your own bags. Youre pitching today. ... I went on to win that game. But more importantly someone of that stature, who Ive become friends with now since then, the great Tom Seaver, helped me with my suitcase on my pitching day in Yankee Stadium.Johnson ended up pitching for the Yankees from 2005-06, and he got to know several of the teams Hall of Famers:Im good friends with Reggie Jackson. He called me asking: Randy, how did you get more votes to the Hall of Fame than I did? I mean, who does that? Friends do. Reggies the greatest. I love Reggie. Green hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift the Boston Celtics to a 111-110 victory over the Heat on Saturday night. "I have confidence in every shot I have," Green said. "When it left, I had a good feeling it would go in. It went in." Gerald Wallaces pass from next to the Heats bench found Green on the far right corner, where he unleashed a shot over the outstretched hands of LeBron James. The shot was confirmed after a video review, giving the Celtics their third consecutive win. "Im glad we still had time left on the clock," Boston coach Brad Stevens said. "It is proof that in this game if you score quickly, you are going to have a chance to at least shoot the ball if the other team misses free throws. "It was a great play by Jeff Green, but it is fortunate to even get a shot off in that moment." Wallace hit a layup with 1.6 seconds remaining to get Boston within 110-108 and he fouled Dwyane Wade with 0.6 seconds remaining. Wade missed the first free throw and deliberately bounced the second off the backboard. His shot failed to hit the rim and no time went off the clock, allowing Boston to call a time out and set up an inbounds play. "I was trying to hit the rim, down a little bit," said Wade, who admitted deliberately missing the shot was his call. "It didnt go where it was supposed to go." Green finished with 24 points and was 5 off 8 on 3-pointers. Robert Quinn Rams Jersey. Avery Bradley scored 17 points and Jordan Crawford added 15 for the Celtics (3-4). When the Celtics came out of the time out, the play was set up to tie the game, but Green had other ideas. "It was for a two, but I told Gerald I wanted to shoot the 3 to try to win it," Green said. "Gerald made a great pass at the end, and he got the 2-pointer which gave us the opportunity to be in this position. "Our team made great plays down the stretch, and that is what it takes to win games." Down 110-108, the Celtics had a chance to tie or take the lead, but Kelly Olynyk missed a bank shot with 6.9 seconds remaining. James grabbed the rebound, dribbled toward the Heat end and was fouled by Olynyk. James, who was questionable for the game because of ongoing back discomfort, converted two free throws with 3.6 seconds remaining to give the Heat 110-106 lead. "Im not 100 per cent; my back is not where I want it to be," James said. "But I could still be effective. I thought I was tonight. I just didnt make enough plays to help us win." James led Miami (4-3) with 25 points and 10 assists. Chris Bosh had 20 points and Wade finished with 18. NOTES: Bosh shot 7 of 12 from the field and has shot at least 50 per cent in all six games hes played this season. ... The Celtics completed the first half of a road-heavy, back-to-back stretch. LONDON - One in four professional footballers said they suffer symptoms of anxiety and depression in a new study into the sports

Posted in IYH Forums by jokergreen0220 at 06:36, Dec 20 2016

LONDON - One in four professional footballers said they suffer symptoms of anxiety and depression in a new study into the sports largely unexplored "dark side" of mental illness. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Guillermo-Celis-Copa-America-Jersey/ . The mental health of recently retired professional footballers was even more worrisome, with one in three reporting signs of anxiety and depression. Some 300 current and former professionals — from the Netherlands, Major League Soccer, Scotland, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand — took part in the study for the players union, FIFPro. While football can draw on reams of scientific study about players physical injuries, little research has previously been done into their mental health, and mental health problems have remained very much taboo in the sport, FIFPro chief medical officer Vincent Gouttebarge said. "There is definitely some dark side of professional football," he said in an interview. "We dont talk about mental health issues in football, or we didnt talk about this issue," he added. "Its quite a macho culture so people do not talk about it." Gouttebarge said the studys findings suggest that professional footballers are no less prone to mental illness than other younger people in the general population. He said that might surprise fans who believe footballers live comfortable, worry-free lives, with media attention often focusing on the wealth of the most successful players. "Contrary to what people think, professional footballers experience psychological problems just like other groups in the population," Gouttebarge said. Among the 180 active footballers who responded to the lengthy questionnaire, 10 per cent reported symptoms of distress, five per cent reported signs of burnout and three per cent said they suffered from low self-esteem. Nearly 20 per cent reported problems with alcohol, which Gouttebarge said could include binge drinking and regularly drinking too much, and seven per cent said they smoked. The 121 former professionals who responded on average had 12-year playing careers and have been retired for five years. Fifteen per cent showed signs of burnout and 18 per cent signs of distress. One in three reported drinking problems, 12 per cent smoked, and 39 per cent reported suffering from depression and anxiety. Gouttebarge said that could include worrying, mood swings, difficulties sleeping, feeling stressed, not being sociable or a combination of symptoms. "Mental illness seems to occur among former professional footballers more often than in current players, and more often than in other populations. Consequently, mental illness among former professional footballers cannot be underestimated and should be a subject of interest for all stakeholders in football," the study said. Retirement was "really a critical period," with players abruptly losing the structure of regular training and the support of being in a club, Gouttebarge said. "You have to find a new life," he said. "It can put you under a lot of stress." Long-term injuries and surgeries that take players out of the game and away from close, regular contact with teammates can also be factors in mental health problems. Being forced to stop playing professionally because of injury or because clubs wont offer another contract can be particularly hard to cope with, Gouttebarge noted. "This has been recognized in other sports as a huge cause of mental health issues," he said. "The guy who is willing to retire or to stop his career is really (in) a different kind of situation to the one who is forced to retire." He called the study "a good first step" toward identifying the scope of mental health issues in football. The survey is expanding to players in France and from French-speaking nations in Africa, with plans to also study players in Spanish-speaking countries and Japan, Gouttebarge said. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Pedro-Franco-Copa-America-Jersey/ . In the Brewers six games this season, no starter has allowed more than three runs. "We see the guy in front of us do a great job and we want to do even better," Gallardo said after the Brewers beat the Red Sox 4-0 on Sunday, his second straight scoreless start. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Edwin-Cardona-Copa-America-Jersey/ . The whole deflation of New England Patriots footballs is like a murder mystery without the violence or significance. On one side, this is a ridiculous issue. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Edwin-Valencia-Copa-America-Jersey/ . - Buffalo Bills running back C.The National Hockey League would likely command a record expansion fee worth as much as $1.2 billion for a second franchise in Toronto, sources tell TSN - a sum that would eclipse the previous North American sports record of $700 million that the Houston Texans paid to join the National Football League back in 1999. While NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has insisted the league in not currently considering expansion or relocation, several senior NHL team sources said expansion - along with the leagues strategy to grow international revenue - would be key topics during the NHL board of governors meetings on Sept. 30 in New York. Five investment bankers who advise NHL team owners on the sales of franchises said it would only be a matter of time before the league entertains offers for another team in Toronto. The bankers, who collectively have advised both buyers and sellers of NHL teams, as well as owners who have sought new limited partners, said bidding for a new team in Toronto would begin around $800 million. Opinion was split on how high the bidding might go. Three of the bankers said they could see the auction reach $1.2 billion. The other two doubted the bidding would eclipse $1 billion. "In an auction situation, I could see it getting to $1 billion or even $1.2 billion," said Drew Dorweiler, a Montreal economist who has been hired by the owners of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, Manchester United and other sports teams to estimate their franchise values. "An NHL team in Toronto is a marquee property." Another sports banker who has consulted on more than a dozen NHL team sales said the Leafs profit eclipses $80 million a year. "They are making more profit annually than many NFL teams," he said. "You cant stand in the way of the tide of history. There are more hockey fans in Toronto than in New York or Los Angeles combined, cities that have five NHL teams between them (Anaheim - a 30-minute drive south of Los Angeles)." Some of the bankers would not agree to speak for attribution because they said it might negatively affect their business relationship with the league. A decade ago, it would have been ridiculous for anyone to muse about a billion-dollar price tag for an NHL team. In 2004, a league-commissioned report by securities and exchange commission official Arthur Levitt claimed that 19 of the NHLs 30 teams were losing money. But today, the NHL has a labour agreement with players that include revenue sharing and more importantly, has strong national TV contracts in both Canada and the U.S. Increasingly, skyrocketing media rights are influencing the purchase price of sports franchises. The NBAs Los Angeles Clippers recently sold for $2 billion, largely because the NBAs national TV contract in the U.S. is up for renewal in two years and is widely expected to double in value to $15 billion over eight years. To put a possible $1.2 billion Toronto expansion fee into context, the NHLs last two expansion teams Columbus and Minnesota joined the league in 1997, paying $80 million apiece (The Blue Jackets and Wild began play in 2000). The bankers said they expect the NHL would probably announce at some point over the next year that its officials are accepting bids for expansion franchises. Toronto and Quebec would be the most coveted markets, the bankers said. Often, when the subject of expansion or relocation to Toronto is raised, media reports suggest Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of the Maple Leafs, might manage to block an expansion team in North Americas biggest hockey market. Its unclear whether that might happen. Bettman told TSN that the NHLs owners collectively decide where to expand or move teams. That means a second team can be added in Toronto with the support of the majority of the 30 NHL owners - even if the Leafs oppose the move. Bettman wouldnt say why the league has not already added a second team in Toronto. TSN owner Bell Media is a part owner of the Leafs parent company, along with Rogers Communications and Larry Tanenbaum. In 1992, when the Mighty Ducks joined the NHL, the Los Angeles Kings were given half of the Ducks $50 million expansion fee. But today, according to terms of the NHLs constitution cited by the bankers and Bettman, the Leafs have no right to demand a fee if their local territory is encroached on by another NHL team. "The only way MLSE gets money for an expansion team in Toronto is by the good grace of other owners and why would the new team owners to the league, with debts of their own and no longstanding relationship with MLSE, say to MLSE here, take this $100 million, money that would have been shared between all of us," one banker said. "Maybe a new owner makes an offer to MLSE to keep them as good neighbours," added Dorweiler, who has worked for six NHL teams. A source close to the MLSE board said that both Bell and Rogers did due diligence when they partnered to buy the interest in the Canadas largest sports company for $1.4 billion. Both companies believe they have a legal challenge if the NHLs other teams owners pushed forward with a second Toronto team and declined to compensate MLSE. Its unclear how a successful bidder might finance such a massive NHL purchase and there are certainly significant hurdles for any new owner. The league allows team owners to borrow 50 cents for every dollar worth of equity. That means a buyer might borrow $600 million, based on a $1.2-billion purchase price. Bank of America and Citibank are currently expand a league-wide credit facility to give each team a $100 million line of credit at low interest rates. An expansion team owner could borrow $100 million through that credit line and another $500 million from a bank. Assuming an interest rate of about 6 per cent, a buyer might have about $30 million worth of annual debt payments on the expansion fee alonee. http://www.teamcolombiasoccer.com/Daniel-Torres-Copa-America-Jersey/. If a new arena did not receive public funding, a further $24 million a year would be required to pay the interest on financing a $400 million facility. Then there are player costs of perhaps $70 million a year and coaches salaries, travel and other administration costs of as much as $15 million, giving a new owner some $140 million a year worth of expenses. Still, one banker said there would be a huge buzz around a new Toronto team, and annual ticket sales could generate $80 million, with another $20 million coming from corporate sponsorships. The NHLs national TV deal in Canada pays each franchise $13 million, and its contract with NBC in the U.S. pays another $7 million. The biggest challenge may be in generating local broadcast revenue. Bell and Rogers may not want to pursue local broadcast rights with a team thats competing with the Maple Leafs. There could also be scheduling problems since TSN carries NBA games in the winter and Rogers will be dedicated to its national TV package of NHL games. Brian Cooper, president of S+E Sponsorship Group and a onetime Maple Leaf Sports executive, said an expansion club would get both a large rights fee as well as carriage on cable TV services. "No one is going to give up the rights to an NHL team in the biggest TV marketing the country to the other regardless if its a new team or not," he explained. "They will get an audience and its NHL hockey. I think both Rogers and Bell would bid aggressively on the broadcast rights." There are other solutions to a potential broadcast quandary. Perhaps one of the two media companies would consider being bought out of its interest in Maple Leaf Sports to take an ownership position with a new franchise. Its also possible that a new team could start its own regional sports network, or, with the media landscape changing fast, cut a deal with the likes of YouTube, which last year struck a deal for exclusive streaming rights to past episodes of "Saturday Night Live," or one of the many other companies that specialize in Internet video streaming. Maple Leaf Sports current TV agreement with Rogers and Bell will pay the club as much as $1 million a game, or $42 million a season (TSN and Sportsnet have 26 and 16 regional Maple Leafs games, respectively, this season). If an expansion franchise several years from now could generate $40 million in broadcast revenue, that would give the team sales of perhaps $160 million, enough to clear a profit. To be sure, there are also hurdles with a place to play. While two NBA teams play in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, that might not be so easy in Toronto. Even if Bell and Rogers decided to allow another club to play in the Air Canada Centre to boost their own profits, there might not be enough available dates to accommodate another NHL team because of the contract Maple Leaf Sports has with Live Nation to host concerts. The most likely solution would involve construction of a new arena, and bankers and NHL team executives are split on whether the most logical place for that is near the Highway 401 corridor or another location. Its not a investment a billionaire would make based on sound financial judgments. But an NHL team is a trophy investment. Clubs rarely come on the market, and its even more seldom to have a chance to own a team in a hockey-mad market such as Toronto. "I know at least a dozen guys who would want to talk about bidding for an expansion team in Toronto, and at least six who have the money to do it," said one investment banker, who said several billionaires have asked him to advise them when the NHL gets serious about a Toronto expansion club. "If the NHL does it right, it would attract interest from investors around the world." Besides Toronto, Seattle is the strongest untapped U.S. market, the bankers said. "Its a logical choice for the NHL because of the natural rivalry with Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton," one banker said. "It cuts down on travel costs." Las Vegas has long been considered a potential expansion market and it has been said that it would be a feather in the NHL cap to expand there before the NBA does. Still, a team in Las Vegas is far from a financial sure thing. At least one-third of Las Vegas residents work at night when NHL games are played. Even with slot machines being added in private suites, its unclear whether casinos would be willing to encourage visitors to leave the gaming tables for more than three hours to watch a game. Las Vegas is also not a large U.S. TV market, meaning the teams local broadcast rights would not generate considerable revenue. (Las Vegas is the 42nd largest market, trailing Harrisburg, Pennsylvania; Grand Rapids, Michigan; and Birmingham, Alabama.) The latest U.S. census showed that in 2010, Nevada had the second highest increase in the U.S. poverty rate behind Florida. Las Vegass $26,993 per capita income was less than the $27,334 U.S. average. A recent NBA-commissioned survey found that a team in Las Vegas would not make a profit. Its also hard to predict what will happen in coming years with the Florida Panthers and Phoenix Coyotes, the leagues biggest money losers. The Panthers, one investment banker said, are locked into a long-term lease with their country and the teams new owner Vincent Viola "loves the team there and has so much money" to fund its losses, an NHL source told TSN. Even so, if the cash-strapped Panthers do move, it would help the Tampa Bay Lightning become a more financially viable team because the Lightning could then boost revenue with a statewide TV contract. The Coyotes, meanwhile, continue to lose money under new owner George Gosbee. One banker told TSN that the Coyotes are losing at least $20 million per year, although $15 million worth of those losses are being covered by the city of Glendale. Every football coach will tell you that in order to make a difference in the game, you have to take full advantage of your opportunities. Daley Blind Jersey . Now, on the field that could mean scoring after your defense creates a turnover or moving the football offensively when you have the wind at your back. On Thursday, the CFL Board of Governors will have their opportunity to make a difference when they vote on the proposal to make pass interference a reviewable call. A "yes" vote means that for the first time since video review was implemented, the system will be used on a judgment call by the refs. Coaches will not get extra challenges but if the rule change is passed, they will be able to challenge a called pass interference or challenge a missed called PI. Critics call it a drastic shift in philosophy which turns the on-field refs into robots, while proponents call it a small expansion of the current video review system that will help the on-field officials make the toughest and most controversial call in the game. The rules committee, which is made up of football people, passed the rule change proposal over a month ago but while it was a strong majority, it wasnt a unanimous "yes" vote. Sources contacted on Tuesday were divided on whether or not the fact that it wasnt unanimous will influence the Governors. While they couldnt come up with actual numbers, one source felt that rule change proposals that did not get a unanimous vote from the rules committee were almost always voted down by the Governors. A separate source didnt think that the fact that it wasnt a unanimous vote would make any difference at all to the Board. One thing both sources agreed on was that this is one of the most important rule change votes in recent memory and if passed, will be a rule change that will be watched closely by the National Football League. The NFL rules committee decided to put a much more drastic proposal to a vote this year when they tabled the idea of giving coaches the chance to challenge all personal foul penalties. That is a drastic change in philosophy with regards to video replay and it was, not surprisingly, voted down. However, if the CFL Governors vote "yes" to this PI rule change, you can bet the NFL will be paying close attention. In fact, a source close to the process said that there are many coaches in the NFL that are pushing for a chance to review pass interference, so if it is voted in by the CFL board and runs smoothly in year one, then it is safe to say it wont be long before the NFL tables the idea again. There is also a sense of urgency with this decision in that, when a rule change proposal gets defeated by the Governors it typically cant be reintroduced for two years. Which means, if you are a fan that gets frustrated with the inconsistency of the PI call, you are going to get two more years of a whole lot of the same. The CFL head office was contacted Tuesday and refused to comment, but football fans should not read into that. With the current CBA negotiations on going, the "no comment" response may becoming automatic. There has been interesting debate on this topic, however, the question football fans have to ask is; what is the downside and the upside of a "yes" vote? Without debating all aspects of this rule change proposal again, it is still tough to find a real downside. Even if this change is a one year experiment and the league finds out that it has created more questions than answers when it comes to pass interference, nothing is really lost. If it doesnt work, it was at least attempted, all teams in 2014 will have played by the same rules, and the idea is dropped in 2015. However, if it works; if it does help refs get the game changing penalty right more often and if it does improve the game, then the CFL will be looked upon as innovators. On May 13, a new crop of young football players will be drafted into the league and will be looking to take full advantage of their opportunity to play the game they love for a living. On the field, a defensive back can make a difference with an interception if he takes advantage of an opportunity when the quarterback throws and errant pass. On Thursday, an opportunity will present itself to the Board of Governors. If they vote "yes," they have a chance to make a difference. If they vote "no," it will be two more frustrating years and an opportunity lost. Jasper Cillessen Netherlands Jersey . However, it wasnt a problem on Monday night. Evgeni Nabokov made 23 saves for his 56th career shutout in the New York Islanders 3-0 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night. Karim Rekik Netherlands Jersey . And Samuel Etoo scored for his fourth different team. On a night of standout individual performances Wednesday, Schalke goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand had a game hell want to forget.NEW ORLEANS - The Toronto Raptors were without Jonas Valanciunas on Wednesday for their game in New Orleans against the Pelicans. Valanciunas, who left Tuesdays loss to the Hawks late in the third quarter with a lower back sprain, missed his first game of the season. Head coach Dwane Casey announced the news an hour and a half prior to tip-off. "His back is still tight," Casey said. "[He] wasnt able to get it loose. (Director of Sports Science) Alex (McKechnie) put him through some preliminary work and it still was tight so hes going to be out." Valanciunas sustained the injury turning to set a screen, feeling immediate pain in his lower back before McKechnie and the Raptors training staff made the call to pull him from the game. After navigating through a mini-slump to close the month of February, the Raptors sophomore centre had been playing some of his best basketball of the season over the past week. Getting off to hot starts in each of hiss last three games, Valanciunas has totalled 34 points on 14-of-20 shooting in the first quarter of those contests. Tim Krul Netherlands Jersey. The Raptors were already undermanned in the frontcourt, missing Patrick Patterson for a seventh straight game Wednesday. He is expected to be out at least another week resting an elbow injury. Tyler Hansbrough started in place of Valanciunas. Both he and Chuck Hayes will see increased playing time as long as the teams starting centre in sidelined. Amir Johnson also played against the Pelicans after tweaking a lingering right ankle injury at the end of regulation in Tuesdays overtime loss. "Weve been very fortunate not to have that many injuries up until this part of the season," said Casey. "A lot of teams had them earlier and its unfortunate were hitting them now but its part of the NBA. Now weve got to adjust to it and make hay from it." Valanciunas is considered day-to-day. Its amazing how the outlook on the Blue Jays has changed, and how energized the fan base has become over the past 48 hours. Bob Lilly Jersey . And its all due to the performances of two rookie right handers. Aaron Sanchez delivered two electrifying perfect innings of relief in the Jays 6-4 win over Boston in his Major League debut on Wednesday night. Then his good buddy Marcus Stroman followed that up with six no-hit innings against the Bosox Thursday afternoon and went seven innings of one-hit ball overall in Torontos 8-0 victory that gave them the series three out of four. Suddenly the Jays look like a threat in the AL East again as they head out on a crucial 10-game, three-city road swing through New York, Boston, and Houston. Reflecting back on Sanchezs performance, I decided to look back at the first Major League appearances of four of Torontos top homegrown starting pitchers and a closer who started elsewhere, but blossomed into a star with the Blue Jays. Lefty Jimmy Key debuted with the Jays on April 6, 1984 at Anaheim. He was like Sanchez, broken in as a reliever with a starting role as the near term goal. That day in Anaheim starter Doyle Alexander lasted only four and a third innings. One reliever later Key entered the game with an 8-5 lead. He proceeded to pitch three and a third near flawless innings and the Jays went on to win 11-5. Key was awarded his first major league victory because the scorer ruled him to have been the most effective Jays pitcher on the day, which he certainly was. The following year, Key made it into the starting rotation and went on to have a stellar career with the Blue Jays, Yankees and Orioles. Its a shame he couldnt have been a Blue Jays lifer. He was 22 years and 350 days old when he made his first appearance for the Blue Jays. Chris Carpenter was even younger when he first took to the mound for the Jays on May 12, 1997 at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. He was just 22 years and 15 days old when he faced the Minnesota Twins. Carpenter started and got rocked. He only lasted three innings, giving up eight hits and seven runs, five of those earned. He also walked three and struck out five. The Twins pounded out 20 hits on that day and hammered the Jays 12-2. Ironically, former Jays catcher Greg Myers was behind the plate for the Twins, and went 4 for 5 with two runs batted in. Carpenter wasnt fazed by that humbling beginning. He was a solid contributor to the Jays rotation until he left for St. Louis as a free agent. There, he developed into a star and won a couple of World Series titles. Dave Stieb was the Blue Jays first star pitcher. His first start, like that of Carpenter, was nothing to write home about. The converted outfielder took to the mound as a Blue Jay for the first time on June 29, 1979. He was only 21 years and 342 days old when he faced Baltimore at old Memorial Stadium. His catcher that day was Bob Davis. Stieb pitched pretty well through five innings, gave up just three runs and was locked in a fairly tight pitchers duel with Os lefty Scott McGregor. But it all came undone for Stieb in the bottom of the 6th, when third baseman Doug DeCinces touched him for a two-run homer and the "Big Bopper" Lee May followed with a solo shot. Stieb was done after six and the Orioles won the game 6-1 in a tidy one hour and 56 minutes. Stieb went on to finish 8-8 that season with 4.31 ERA. He pitched 129.1 innings, striking out 52 and walking 48 on a bad Blue Jays team. That was only the beginning though for "Sir David" as the late great Jim Hunt dubbed him. He went on to become arguably the best homegrown pitcher in Blue Jays history alongside Roy Halladay. "Doc" Halladay, who retired as a Blue Jay back in the spring, debuted on September 20, 1998 at Tropicana Field against Tampa Bay. I was in the ballpark that night, but honestly remember very little about it, or the significance of it being Halladays first game. The Jays were on the third leg of an 11-game, four-city trip that would see them go 4-7 and fall out of contention in the AL East. Halladay may have even been given the start, because the team was out of it. Roy was 21 years and 129 days old, the youngest of the four starters Ive mentioned. He went five innings and allowed eight hits, three runs - two earned - walked two and struck out five. The Jays ultimately won 7-5 in 12 innings, their only victory in that series as I recall. The funny thing about that game is the reliever who picked up Halladay that night was none other than Dave Stieb, who made a one-year comeback in 1998 as a reliever and spot starter. It was his second-last Major League appearance. He went 2.2 innings, giving up one unearned run on two hits while walking two and striking out three. It was the only time the two greatest homegrown starting pitchers appeared in the same game for the Blue Jays. Most fans remember Halladays second start with crystal clear clarity. On September 27 at the then-SkyDome Halladay pitched a complete game one-hitter versus Detroit. Pinch hitter Bobby Higginson slammed a home run to left-centre with two out in the top of the ninth to ruin the no-hit bid. Halladay and the Jays hung on to win 2-1. Though he didnt come up through the Blue Jays organization, I still believe "the Terminator" Tom Henke had the most hyped and anticipated debut in Blue Jays history. He was the closer the Blue Jays needed to get over the top in 1985. His first four years in the Texas organization hadnt panned out and the Jays got him as compensation for losing veteran DH Cliff Johnson to the Rangers as a free agent. Henke started the year at Triple-A Syracuse and his legend grew with every save. He finally was called up when it became clear Bill Caudill wasnt the answer in short relief. Henkes first appearance came on July 29 at Baltimore. Henke took over from Jimmy Key to start the 9th in a 3-3 tie in front of a jam-packed house of 41,599. He mowed down the Os in the 9th, but walked a batter in the 10th. With two down Henke got Cal Ripken Jr. to fly out to Jesse Barfield, who was playing centre in one of the deepest parts of the park. After a sigh of relief, Henke joined the celebration as he picked up the win in his first Major League appearance. The Jays went 36-25 the rest of the way with Henke as the closer. They set a franchise record with 99 wins and made it to the post-season for the first time. Well find out over the next few years if Stroman and Sanchez will write their own glorious chapters in Blue Jays history. After what theyve shown this week I cant see either one being traded before next weeks July 31 non-waiver deadline. Travis Frederick Cowboys Jersey . Daniel Alfredssons third-period goal was enough to lift Sweden to a 1-0 win over a pesky Switzerland side Friday in Group C of the mens Olympic hockey preliminary round. Xavi Hernandez Jersey . The Swedes ended the scoreless stalemate with less than eight minutes remaining in the game at Bolshoy Ice Dome. Defenceman Erik Karlsson sent a harmless looking shot toward Reto Berra, but the Swiss goalie allowed a bad rebound right to Daniel Alfredsson, who buried his easy chance. The win gives Sweden (2-0) first place in Group C, three points ahead of Switzerland (1-1) and the Czech Republic (1-1). Henrik Lundqvist backstopped Sweden with 26 saves. Despite giving up a questionable goal, Berra stopped 30 shots for Switzerland. Both teams took turns dominating the territorial play. Switzerland, which continues to improve with each passing Olympic Games, outshot Sweden 13-5 in the opening period. The Swedes picked up their game in the second as they held a 17-7 advantage. The Swedes are playing without two of their best offensive players. Captain Henrik Zetterberg scored a goal and played 18:14 of ice time during Swedens 4-2 victory over the Czech Republic on Wednesday. But the Detroit Red Wings stalwart is sidelined for the remainder of the Olympics with a herniated disc in his back, according to the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation. Zetterberg joins Vancouver Canucks forward Henrik Sedin on the injury infirmary. Meanwhile, Paul Pogba led the way as Juventus stayed on course for a third consecutive title with a 1-0 win over relegation-threatened Bologna.MILAN, Italy -- Carloz Tevez struck again to help Juventus beat Torino 1-0 in the Turin derby on Sunday as Antonio Contes side maintained its charge to a third straight Serie A title. Tevez scored on the half hour mark, although Torino will feel aggrieved not to have been awarded a late penalty when Omar El Kaddouri appeared to be tripped by Andrea Pirlo. "It was a penalty on El Kaddouri," Torino coach Giampiero Ventura said. "Its disappointing because if (referee Nicola) Rizzoli had seen the penalty maybe we would have witnessed a different game. If we had drawn today it would have been a fair result." It was Tevezs 13th goal of the season and sees him move level with Giuseppe Rossi at the top of the goalscoring table. The Fiorentina striker was injured at the beginning of January and is out for the rest of the season. Juventus moved nine points ahead of second-placed Roma, which has a game in hand. "It wasnt easy," Conte said. "But we conceded very little to Torino. There was contact but fortunately the referee chose well. "We were calmer last year. Behind us we have a team like Roma, which is more dangerous that Napoli was last year. They dont make mistakes, they have enthusiasm and desire." In the race for the final Europa League spot, Torino slipped four points below fifth-placed Inter Milan which could only draw 1-1 at home to relegation-threatened Cagliari. Hellas Verona almost squandered a three-goal lead but held on to win 3-2 at struggling Livorno and moved a point behind Inter. Luca Toni scored his 12th of the season for Verona. Elsewhere, AC Milan recovered from its disappointing Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid by winning 2-0 at Sampdoria, which had former Rossoneri striker Maxi Lopez sent off. New signings Adel Taarabt and Adil Rami both scored their second Milan goals. Also, Chievo Verona beat Catania 2-0 in a relegation fight and Udinese drew 1-1 against Atalanta. In the evening match, bottom club Sassuolo levelled twice -- including one equalizer by former Lazio striker Sergio Floccari -- but lost 3-2 at Lazio. Stefano Radu struck twice for Lazio, including a stunning opener off the inside of the post from more than 30 metres (yards). Juventus had won all 12 of its home league matches this season and hadnt lost in the derby since 1995 -- a run of 15 matches. Jeremy Mathieu Jersey. Play had to be halted when Ciro Immobile -- who is co-owned by Juventus and has already scored 13 goals this season -- broke the goal with a fierce shot into the sidenetting which pulled the net off its support. Juventus took the lead after 30 minutes when Tevez controlled Kwadwo Asamoahs cross with his back to goal and swiveled to fire an unstoppable effort into the near bottom corner. There was controversy 10 minutes from time as El Kaddouri appealed furiously for a penalty but the referee instead booked the on-loan Napoli midfielder for diving. Replays appeared to prove El Kaddouri right but his dramatic fall may have cost him. Cagliari had lost five of its past six matches but took a surprise lead four minutes from halftime, Mauricio Pinilla converted a penalty after Victor Ibarbos shot was deflected off Walter Samuel and onto Juan Jesus arm. Inter levelled seven minutes after the break when Yuto Nagatomo crossed to the far post where Mauro Icardi headed on for Rolando to bundle in from close range. Inter almost snatched all three points but Icardis header crashed off the crossbar in the final minute. Milans chances of a European spot were reignited after another solid performance moved it five points behind Inter. Milan had put on by far its best display of the season in the 1-0 defeat to Atletico in the first leg of its Champions League tie but had a massive injury list which included Mario Balotelli. However, it continued from where it left off on Wednesday and took the lead in the 12th minute. Taarabts header from Ramis cross was parried by Angelo Da Costa at point-blank range but the on-loan Queens Park Rangers midfielder turned in the rebound. The Morocco international was involved in the controversial second goal, crossing for Rami to head home after Da Costa had fumbled. Sampdoria players were furious as they felt Milan striker Giampaolo Pazzini had crashed into their goalkeeper. Substitute Maxi Lopez was sent off in the 72nd, receiving a second yellow card for comments to the referee immediately after being booked. Chievo moved out of the relegation zone with its first win in 10 matches and is a point above Livorno and two ahead of Catania. NFL Jerseys China cheap jerseys ' ' '

Numbers Game looks at the Yankees addition of Jacoby Ellsbury. The Yankees Get: CF Jacoby Ellsbury. Ellsbury, 30, has been a productive player when healthy, a career .297 hitter who has led the American League in steals three times. However, hes missed a lot of time -- 264 games to be precise -- over the last four seasons, which makes a long-term investment risky, particularly for a player on the north side of 30 years of age. While Ellsbury had a 32-home-run season in 2011, thats the only season of his career in which hes finished with more than 10 home runs so, even in new Yankee Stadium, which plays well to lefthanded hitters, its not likely that Ellsbury will be a significant power threat. He could hit double figures in home runs, but its a long way from 10 or 12 to 30-plus. But, a little power to go with tremendous base-stealing ability makes Ellsbury an asset offensively. Over the course of his career, he has stolen 241 bases in 287 attempts (83.9%), including a ridiculous 52 in 56 attempts (92.9%) last season. The question, on top of whether Ellsbury can stay healthy, is for how much longer can he be that top-of-the-order base-stealing threat? Is it three years? Five? Given Ellsburys speed on the bases, it should come as little surprise that he covers a lot of ground in centre field. Over the last four seasons, he ranks among the Top 10 centre fielders with 25 Defensive Runs Saved, while ranking sixth in Ultimate Zone Rating. Mehdi Benatia Jersey. Putting Ellsbury in centre field, moving Brett Gardner back to left field and Ichiro Suzuki in right will give the Yankees exceptional range in the outfield and ought to help their pitching staff to some degree. Despite his injuries, Ellsbury has accumulated a fWAR of 22.4 since 2008, which ranks fourth among centre fielders. The odds are that, over the course of the deal, there will be years that the Yankees regret because injury and/or age prevent Ellsbury from contributing like he has to this point in his career, but if there are five really good years in there, then that might be enough for the Yankees. A healthy Ellsbury improves their chances of returning to the postseason. The Red Sox are likely to move Shane Victorino to centre field to make up for the loss of Ellsbury and they could still be active in the free agent market looking for a corner outfielder. Additionally, prospect Jackie Bradley Jr. could be ready for another chance to stick as an every day player in the majors. Signed for seven years and $153-million, with an option for an eighth year that would run the contract to $169-million, Ellsbury is the latest in a long line of lucrative Yankees free agent signings, many of which have not panned out, but its only money and the Yankees generate enough of it that they can afford to swing and miss every so often, particularly with the chance to hit a proverbial home run. DAVIE, Fla. Montee Ball Jersey . - Miami Dolphins centre Mike Pouncey claims to have no regrets about last seasons incidents in a bullying scandal in which an NFL-sanctioned investigator identified him and two teammates as principals involved. Pouncey talked to reporters Tuesday for the first time since the Ted Wells report implicated him, left guard Richie Incognito and right guard John Jerry as being behind alleged hazing and harassment of tackle Jonathan Martin. "No, not at all," Pouncey said when asked if he had any regrets. "Weve moved on from that. Im not worried about anything in 2013, honestly, its all about 2014 for me." On October 28, three days before the Dolphins played Cincinnati, Martin abruptly left the team after storming out of the cafeteria, and never returned. It wasnt until the Wells report was released that Pounceys name was directly attached. The NFL is waiting for him to undergo a psychiatric evaluation before issuing any discipline. Pouncey said he does not need such an evaluation. Dolphins coach Joe Philbin stood behind Pouncey during his news conference after the practice. Philbin confirmed that he and the team will be in constant communication with the league regarding any discipline for Pouncey. "The one thing thats without question about Mike Pouncey which is important is he wants to be a great football player," said Philbin, who invited Pouncey to a dinner with free agent left tackle Branden Albert before the team signed him. "He wants to make a valuable contribution to the Miami Dolphins, and hes not unlike any other player that we have in terms of theres an educational process every player goes through. But I love the effort and energy that he brings and that hes put forth into this off-season and todays Day 1. Its a long, long process, but hes off to a good start." New offensive co-ordinator Bill Lazor also expressed confidence in Pounceys leadership. "Mike and I walk into this professional relationship with a real clear picture," Lazor said. "I spoke with him on the phone and I laid out what I was looking for. He was very excited to do it and I think hes the right guy to do it." Pouncey didnt help matters last month after Miami drafted Tennessee right tackle JaWuan James in the first round when he tweeted he was looking forward to the gifts James would have to deliver to the veterans. The 2011 first-round pick insisted he was joking, reiterating that he believes he is the type of leader his teammates want him to be. Incognito, Jerry, Martin, Tyson Clabo and Bryant McKinnie all started alongside Pouncey on the offensive line at times last season. Now, only Pouncey remains. In addition to signing Albert and veteran guard Shelley Smith, the Dolphins drafted James and guard/tackle Billy Turner in the early rounds. All of them were aware of the issues that plagued that unit in 2013. Philbin knew that would have to be addressed. "We didnt really say an awful lot," he said. "We want them to make their own decisions. When they walk into the building, when they feel the energy, the excitement that the coaching staff has in working with these guys every day, when they see the way these players are treated by our equipment staff, by our security staff and by our medical staff, I dont really have to say a whole lot. "The people that come to work here every single day create an outstanding atmosphere ... and again I think the players feel that. If you have to talk about that, then you probably dont have one." NOTES: WR Brandon Gibson was back to work after recovering from a torn patellar tendon that cost him the last nine games of 2013. ... Former star defensive end Jason Taylor was on the field Tuesday as a special guest coach. ... Koa Misi worked at middle linebacker, with Danell Ellerbe joining Philip Wheeler on the outside, which was a switch from previous lineups. Tre Jackson Jersey . Mission accomplished. Now the Royals will take the field on Saturday with a World Series lead for the first time in team history when they play Game 4 of the Fall Classic against the Giants at AT&T Park. Reggie Wayne Patriots Jersey . Niese pitched seven steady innings on a rainy Tuesday night and Daniel Murphy had three hits to lead New York to a 6-1 victory over the Phillies. http://www.patriotsfanaticstore.com/authentic-marcus-cannon-patriots-jersey/ .C. - Steve Clifford isnt exactly singing his teams praises after the Bobcats won for the sixth time in seven games. SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Jim Harbaugh pirouetted in frustration following a personal foul on Dan Skuta. He got hit with his own unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for arguing following a catch by Vernon Davis that went to review before being ruled a touchdown. And that was just last Sunday. Harbaugh has been at his emotional best -- or, to some, worst -- with his cartoon-like faces and quirky sideline antics in leading San Francisco back to the NFC championship game for the third time in as many years since taking over as 49ers head coach in January 2011. On Davis TD during Sundays 23-10 win at Carolina, Harbaugh ran well onto the field during the play. "I think Harbaugh gets away with murder myself," former Seahawks coach and ex-49ers assistant Mike Holmgren said. "If I ever did that it would be a penalty." Harbaugh should be as charged up as ever come Sunday, when he faces off once more against the rival Seattle Seahawks in an NFC championship game featuring that familiar coaching sideshow with Pete Carroll. This time, theres a Super Bowl berth on the line. But if you ask Harbaugh, "Whats your deal?" is so five years ago. Enough already, he insists, keep it about the players. "That might have been something four or five years ago," Harbaugh said. "But, I havent seen it as of late. And, it would be as irrelevant now as it would have been then when people made a bigger deal out of it. So, irrelevant, irrelevant." Sorry, not this week. Theres no avoiding such chatter. Harbaugh has to expect that infamous phrase to come up often. It dates back to their college days coaching in the Pac-10 Conference. In 2009, Harbaugh and No. 25 Stanford ran up the score on 11th-ranked USC in a surprising 55-21 rout, even attempting a 2-point conversion with the game way out of reach -- prompting Carrolls infamous "Whats your deal?" when they met afterward at midfield. Whatever their past or perceived differences, Harbaugh knows what to expect every time a Carroll-coached team takes the field. The Seahawks ended San Franciscos two-year reign as NFC West champion. "Its hard to get to this position," Harbaaugh said. Dion Lewis Patriots Jersey. "Talking about a year of preparation and planning and off-season and training camp and games. And they did it better than anybody did it this entire season. So, a great task, great challenge ahead of us." The 49ers have already accomplished plenty this post-season by winning in the bitter cold of Green Bay and at Carolina. Harbaugh is the first coach in the Super Bowl era to reach the NFC championship in each of his first three years. Place kicker Phil Dawson wanted to be part of the winning vibe after 14 mostly disappointing years with Cleveland. Nose tackle Glenn Dorsey left Kansas City to join a team with Harbaugh at the helm. Even if Dorseys first impressions of the coach left him shaking his head. "I noticed what everybody else noticed: a coach going crazy on the sideline having fun," Dorsey recalled. "Always pumped up and always getting his team hyped. He works hard, even now being on the inside seeing him every day and how he goes about doing his job, the enthusiasm that he has and the motivational stuff that he has, the knowledge that he has. Hes a great coach." Dawson appreciates how Harbaugh takes chances in the kicking game based on his trust in the veteran -- and it certainly didnt hurt that Dawson converted a franchise-record 27 straight field goals until the streak ended in the regular-season finale at Arizona. The 50-year-old Harbaugh, a 15-year NFL quarterback himself, regularly moves around the team plane to visit with players about football and life. He shares meals with rookies and veterans alike on occasion in the team cafeteria. "Hes the kind of coach you want to win for," Dawson said. "Theres a special satisfaction with having a relationship with the head coach. Being a place kicker, on a lot of teams the head coach never even speaks to the kicker. Hes around, he gets it, hes been there. Hes sat in those seats. I think its probably one of the biggest reasons hes successful is his ability to communicate with the guys and relate to them on their level and be able to instil whatever it is hes trying to instil in a way that guys will receive it." FIVE NBA THOUGHTS: 1. Joshua Kimmich Jersey . DEMAR DEROZAN (Raptors): His numbers of late are quite impressive, but more importantly to me, I see a guy who has matured and is very professional. Hes prepared to play and he hates to lose. He has good competitive spirit. His confidence is growing and he knows now what works for him and what doesnt. There have been some stretches this year where I look out on the court and see a guy who is the best player on the court on either team. Can he build that into being a guy who is at that level consistently game to game? Only time will tell, but Im definitely seeing a guy this season from the start of training camp until now who is totally engrossed in his craft and has paid the price in the off-season working on his skills, strength and conditioning to move himself to another peg in the progression of his game. 2. DERRICK WILLIAMS (Kings): The former second-overall pick of the Timberwolves (2011) is shipped to Sacramento. Maybe a fresh start will help him. Hes a combo 3-4 or 4-3, whichever way you want to put it. Hes a guy more comfortable with his game working 15 feet and in, though hes capable of making threes. The bottom line is, when a team that invested heavily in you gives up on you so early, youve got to look in the mirror and ask why and make the adjustments in your game and approach to improve. The Kings need scoring and hell be able to provide that. It goes to show that in todays NBA, you need to bring at least one or two discernable high-end skills to the table and excel at those to carve out your niche. If youre pretty good-to-average at everything and are stuck between positions, you kind of get caught in no mans land. Williams is young player who still has plenty of time to figure it out. This is a wake-up call though. 3. ERSAN ILYASOVA (Bucks): Hes had a disappointing season so far, only averaging nine points per game and four boards per game, but injuries have been a factor. Ive always been a fan of his game because hes a tough competitor who battles on the glass, plays hard and shoots it well from distance. It just seems something always gets out of kilter for him with Milwaukee. Hes a guy, if they sour on him, whos worth a look from a bunch of teams if he gets dangled out there on the market. I firmly believe that hes a good player and with the right point guard situation, could thrive. 4. BRADLEY BEAL (Wizards): Hes now out for a few weeks with a leg injury. I saw him on Friday night in Toronto and I gotta tell you: I love his game. Hes got a beautiful stroke. When I watch him and John Wall together, Im fascinated by their potential as a back court. Hes greatly developed the ability to create his own shot and he and Wall could be an intriguing duo for a long time. Hopefully, this injury doesnt set him back too far, as hes really starting to come into his own. 5. JOSH McROBERTS (Bobcats): With big free agent signee, Al Jefferson being out for most of the start of the season (Hes played in only six games, so far,) coach Steve Clifford has needed steady play in his front court on a back court-dominated team. McRoberts stats (9 PPG, 5 RPG and 4 APG) wont jump off the page at you, but hes been reliable. Hes a good system guy with nice versatility in his game. You dont need to run plays for him and he can shoot threes and is a very clever passer. McRoberts is a good teammate who knows and accepts his role and has allowed his team the ability to keep the floor spaced with his face-up game. Sometimes less is more and McRoberts does what hes supposed to do and keeps his ego in check. Hes a good role player. Sven Ulreich Jersey . -- Washington Redskins linebacker Brian Orakpo is going to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for San Francisco 49ers linebacker Ahmad Brooks. Manuel Neuer Jersey . Lynchs attorney, Ivan Golde, told The Associated Press on Thursday of the plea deal that was reached with the Alameda County District Attorney Office. The plea will be formally entered in court in Oakland, Calif.ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Joe Torre, Tommy Lasorda and Jim Leyland were among the many friends and family members at Tropicana Field on Saturday to celebrate the life of longtime baseball man Don Zimmer. The tribute was held before the Tampa Bay Rays played Seattle. Zimmer, a senior adviser for the Rays, died Wednesday at 83 in a hospital in nearby Dunedin. Both teams wore Zimmers No. 23 Brooklyn Dodgers jersey as they lined up along the foul lines. Fans stood and cheered at the end of a video tribute. There is no funeral or other memorial service planned. More than 20 family members, including Zimmers wife "Soot" -- they were married at home plate during a minor league game in 1951 -- also attended. "A great life," Soot Zimmer said. "No regrets." Son Tom Zimmer, a scout with the San Francisco Giants, caught the ceremonial first pitch thrown by granddaughter Whitney Goldstein. Torre says Zimmer was "one of a kind" and "an institution." Zimmer was Torres bench coach for four World Series championships with the Yankees. "His loss creates a void in my life," Torre said. "I hired a coach who became a family member, basically. I think baseball is just going to miss the presence of him. He was a big teddy bear, ttheres no question about it. Renato Sanches Jersey. " Zimmer spent 66 years in baseball as a player, manager, coach and executive. "I just hope that people remember what a great baseball man this guy was," Leyland said. "He was a character, but he wasnt somebody that you laughed at when you understood how much this guy knew about baseball. His passion for the game and his passion for people." "Its kind of an ironic day," he said. "Todays the day of the Belmont, as you know, and everybody knows how he liked horses. Family came first, baseball second, horses third. So, family is here today, were going to have a ballgame and the Belmont is today." Zimmer convinced Torre not to make ties mandatory when the Yankees travelled. Torre, who wore a tie Saturday with horses on it, removed it when the subject came up during the ceremony. Yankees star Derek Jeter made a video statement. So did Yankees manager Joe Girardi, whose first big league manager was Zimmer with the Chicago Cubs. "He made an impact like no else has," Texas Rangers senior adviser Tom Giordano said. The ceremony ended with "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" played on a bagpipe. "Perfect," Tom Zimmer said. "Emotional." NFL Jerseys China cheap jerseys ' ' '

ARLINGTON, Va. Ezekiel Elliott Jersey . - The Washington Capitals acquired forward Dustin Penner from the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday, adding another potential candidate for the top line of Alex Ovechkin and Nicklas Backstrom. The Capitals gave up a fourth-round pick in this years draft for what is essentially a 20-game rental. Penner signed a one-year, $2 million contract last year and is set to become a free agent this summer. The Capitals began the day in ninth place in the Eastern Conference, in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2007. They have struggled in particular on defence, an area they could address before Wednesdays NHL trade deadline. Penner, 31, has played for the Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim over nine NHL seasons. He had 13 goals and 19 assists with the Ducks this season. He would appear to be a natural fit at left wing on the Capitals top line. Coach Adam Oates best options to partner with Ovechkin and Backstrom have been Marcus Johansson, Brooks Laich and Martin Erat, but none of the three has looked suited for the role. "I look forward to coming in," Penner said, "and hopefully adding something they were looking for." (SportsNetwork. Rob Havenstein Rams Jersey .com) - The surging New York Rangers take aim at a fourth consecutive victory on Monday, as they host the Anaheim Ducks in an interconference battle at Madison Square Garden. Rangers captain Ryan Callahan is expected to return from a broken thumb for the home side. The Rangers went 3-6-0 on a season-opening nine game road trip, but things have been looking up for the Blueshirts since playing their home opener on Oct. 28 against Montreal. Although New York dropped a 2-0 decision to the Habs in that contest, the Rangers have since won three in a row and recorded their two most recent victories on home ice. New York hasnt won four in a row since a four-game winning streak from Feb. 28-March 7 of last season. After notching a 3-2 road win against the rival New York Islanders on Tuesday, the Blueshirts opened a four-game homestand with Thursdays 2-0 triumph against Buffalo. The Rangers then recorded their most lopsided win of the season Saturday against Carolina, scoring a season-high five goals in the 5-1 rout of the visiting Hurricanes. Derek Stepan broke out of a scoring drought by netting his first three goals of the season to lead the way in Saturdays blowout win over the Canes. Carl Hagelin added a pair of goals to support Stepans second career hat trick, while Henrik Lundqvist turned aside 27-of-28 shots in the victory. Chris Kreider and Mats Zuccarello each recorded three assists in the rout. "We didnt have the start we wanted but we battled back and (Lundqvist) kept us in the game," said Hagelin. "All the lines started going and we got our chances." Hagelin has two goals and one assist in three games since returning from offseason shoulder surgery. However, the Rangers are still playing without key forward Rick Nash (concussion). Meanwhile, Nash remains sidelined indefinitely with a head injury suffered in the third game of the season. The Ducks are capping their longest road trip of the season on Monday and have recorded a solid 4-2-1 record on the swing so far. Anaheim began the trek with consecutive regulation setbacks in Toronto and Montreal, but has righted itself with a 4-0-1 mark in the past five outings. Bruce Boudreaus club improved to 6-3-1 as the visiting team this season after Saturdays 6-3 decision in Buffalo. Corey Perry and Emerson Etem scored two goals apiece and Ryan Getzlaf added a goal and two assists to help the Ducks down the lowly Sabres. Sami Vatanen also scored for the Ducks and Jonas Hiller only needed to make 14 saves to earn the win. Down 1-0, Anaheim scored three consecutive goals before the end of the second period to make it 3-1. The Ducks pushed their edge to 5-1 in the early stages of the third period and cruised to the victory from there. "It took us about a period to get going. Its frustrating," said Getzlaf. "Obviously I am happy with our effort after that first period to get back into the hockey game. We had a will to win." After closing its lengthy trip on Monday, the Ducks will play their next three games on home ice, beginning with Wednesdays tilt against Phoenix. Anaheim is a perfect 5-0 as the host this season, including a 6-0 win over New York on Oct. 10. Hiller made 34 saves to lift the Ducks to their third victory in four games versus the Rangers. Anaheim, though, has lost its past three trips to Madison Square Garden. Johnny Hekker Rams Jersey . ST. Nick Perry Packers Jersey . LOUIS -- Just a few days ago, the St. Louis Cardinals had no wins when trailing after eight innings and just one extra-inning victory. They certainly showed the Pittsburgh Pirates they can go the extra mile. "We did a good job of bouncing back," said Matt Holliday, who hit a game-ending RBI single in the 12th inning of St. Louis 6-5 victory over Pittsburgh on Thursday. "Winning this game could be very important for us." Matt Carpenter had four hits and scored the winning run in the Cardinals second extra-inning triumph over the NL Central leaders in three days. "Anytime having a walk-off win, its a big deal," manager Mike Matheny said. "Jumping on it again it today is just the resiliency of this club. "You could sense it on the bench. The guys werent going to give in, werent going to stop pushing." The Cardinals took two of three in the series to pull within two games of the sagging Pirates, who have dropped five of six. St. Louis won 4-3 in 14 innings in the opener on Tuesday night. "We had a number of guys that had opportunities," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said. "The great thing about what were going through is the challenge and opportunities were all getting. "Its playoff atmosphere baseball." The Cardinals lost the division lead when they dropped four of five in Pittsburgh from July 29-Aug. 1. Rookie Kevin Siegrist (1-1), St. Louis seventh pitcher, struck out two in a perfect 12th against the heart of the order. Russell Martin and Clint Barmes homered for Pittsburgh, which blew a 4-0 lead in one inning. Jose Tabata had three straight hits after entering as a pinch hitter. Carpenter sparked the winning rally with a one-out walk. He went to third on Jon Jays single before Holliday grounded a single up the middle off Bryan Morris (5-6). Carpenter, the Cardinals leadoff man, leads the National League with 48 multihit games and 40 doubles. He entered with league-leading averages of .366 at home and .367 in day games. Holliday also had an RBI double and is batting .452 during a 12-game hitting streak. Martin hit a tying leadoff drive off Trevor Rosenthal in the eighth, handing the setup man his second blown save of St. Louis 4-6 homestand. The Pirates hit for the cycle against Lance Lynn in a four-run fifth that featured rookie Andrew Lambos first hit and RBI on a double and Barmes two-run homer. The Cardinals responded by knocking out A.J. Burnett with five runs in the bottom half on a two-run single by Daniel Descalso and RBIs in consecutive at-bats from Carpenter, Jon Jay and Holliday. "As good as it looked early, its never easy against this group," Burnett said. "They figured me out early." Both managers put a heavy stamp on the game. Hurdle hit for two regulars in the sixth and emptied his bench, and Matheny used three relievers in the sixth and seventh. St. Louis activated All-Star catcher Yadier Molina from the 15-day disabled list, and he announced his presence almost immediately. He threw out Starling Marte trying to steal third to end the first. NOTES: The Pirates begin a three-game homestand Friday against the Diamondbacks. Pittsburgh rookie Gerrit Cole (5-5, 3.95 ERA), who opposes Brandon McCarthy (2-6, 4.73 ERA) in the opener, has lost five of his last six decisions. ... The Cardinals open a three-game series at Chicago, with St. Louis Jake Westbrook (7-7, 4.11 ERA) opposing minor league callup Jake Arrieta. It will be Westbrooks first appearance since giving up nine runs in 4 2-3 innings of relief on three days rest after Shelby Miller was knocked out by a liner off his elbow on his second pitch of the game. ... TSN. Adam Lallana Jersey .ca presents its latest weekly power rankings for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League staff. Rankings were weighted evenly between separate lists made by TSN Radio host and soccer analyst Gareth Wheeler as well as TSN.cas soccer editors. 1. Arsenal (Last Week- 1) The Gunners moved five points clear at the top of the table with a 2-0 victory over Liverpool. Santi Cazola scored in the first half and Aaron Ramsey fired home from 25 yards out in the second to secure the win. Arsenal have collected 25 points from their first 10 games. 2. Tottenham (LW- 4) Keeper Hugo Lloris was injured but stayed in the game during Spurs 0-0 draw with Everton. Lloris banged his head off Romelu Lukakus knee and though it looked as though he was going to be removed from the game, waived off backup keeper Brad Friedel and stayed in the game. With the point, Tottenham now sits tied for second in points but fourth when goal differential is taken into account. 3. Chelsea (LW- 2) Chelsea fell five points off the top of the table as they were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle. Though they controlled the majority of the play, they were not able to find a way past Newcastle keeper Tim Krul. In fact, if it wasnt for keeper Petr Cech they would have slumped to an even bigger defeat. 4. Manchester City (LW- 5) While a goaltending controversy ruled the pre-game, Citys offence told the story in a landslide 7-0 victory over Norwich City. Six different goal scorers and an own goal powered the attack and goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon picked up the clean sheet being forced to make only one save. 5. Liverpool (LW- 3) Neither of Liverpools in form strike partnership of Luis Suarez or Daniel Sturridge could find the mark as they fell 2-0 to top of the table Arsenal. Suarez was the livelier of the duo but had numerous attempts on goal turned away as his side suffered its second defeat of the season. 6. Everton (LW- 7) Both team had chances but in the end Everton and Tottenham played to a 0-0 draw. In a back in forth contest, neither team was able to grab control and find the marker that would give them the game. Keeper Tim Howard was strong in goal earning himself another clean sheet. 7. Southampton (LW- 6) After conceding a goal in the opening minute to Stokes keeper, Jay Rodriguez struck back before the half in a 1-1 draw. Southampton pressed the action late and almost had the winning marker but in the end had to settle for the single point. 8. Manchester United (LW- Antonio Valencia, Robin Van Persie and Wayne Rooney all scored in the first 22 minutes of the game as United cruised to a 3-1 victory over Fulham. Though Uniteds second half performance wasnt as dominant as the first they were never in danger of leaving with anything but all three points in this contest. 9. Hull City (LW- 10) A first half own goal helped Hull take a 1-0 victory over Sunderland. Hull played the entire second half against nine men after two red cards late in the opening half sealed Sunderlands fate in the contest. Though they were not able to score a second goal, Hull did control the action for the majority of the game. 10. Newcastle United (LW- 13) Two goals in 21 minutes were enough to give Newcastle a 2-0 victory over title contenders Chelsea. Yoan Gouffran scored in the 68th minute and Loic Remy put the game out of reach with a second goal in the 89th. Newcastle had to withstand lots of pressure from their opponents and in the end were able to collect their fourth win of the season. 11. West Bromwich Albion (LW- 12) A goal in each half was enough to lead West Brom to a 2-0 victory over Crystal Palace. Saido Berahino and Gareth McAuley each scored and Stephane Sessegnon was influential for the winning side. 12. Cardiff City (LW- 16) In the first top flight South Wales derby, Cardiff earned a 1-0 victory over Swansea on the strength of a 62nd minute goal by Steven Caulker. The former Swansea man fired home a header to give the home side a victory and bragging rights over their rival. 13. Swansea City (LW- 9) In their first top flight derby match against their South Wales rival, Swansea fell 1-0 at the hands of Cardiff City. Michu continues to struggle for Swansea and was subbed off in the 65th minute and keeper Michael Vorn was sent off in stoppage time. 14. Aston Villa (LW- 11) Christian Benteke had the best chance of the contest but he wasnt able to find the mark as Aston Villa drew West Ham 0-0. Andreas Weimann also had a chance go by the boards as Villa left Upton Park with a point for their efforts. 15. West Ham United (LW- 15) After three straight home losses, the Hammers finally earned a point at home in a scoreless draw against Aston Villa. West Ham enjoyed more of the possession during the game but were not able to break the deadlock. West Ham have gone 375 minutes without scoring a goal at home. 16. Stoke City (LW- 17) Keeper Asmir Begovic scored for Stoke in the opening minute of the game but it wasnt enough as they split the points with Southampton in a 1-1 final. Begovics strike ties him with Dwight Yorke and Chris Sutton for the fourth fastest goal in Premier League history. 17. Fulham (LW- 14) Fulham manager Martin Jol is back in the hot seat after his side fell 3-1 to Manchester United. Alexander Kacaniklic pulled a goal back for the Cottagers in the 65th minute but it wasnt enough to get them back into the game. Sascha Riether was charged with violent conduct by the FA following the contest for a stamp on United midfielder Adnan Januzaj and given a three-match ban. 18. Norwich City (LW- 1 For 16 minutes Norwich were even with Manchester City, however they were torn apart over the remainder of the game as they fell 7-0. Keeper John Ruddy had a nightmare performance as he gave up goals to six different goal scorers and a seventh to one of his own men. Norwich never threatened the City goal. 19. Sunderland (LW- 19) A Carlos Jimenez Cuellar own goal in the first half and red cards to both Lee Cattermole and Andrea Dossena doomed Sunderland to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Hull City. Adam Johnson came on as a substitute and had the best chance to rescue a point for Sunderland but saw it turned away by Hull keeper Steve Harper. 20. Crystal Palace (LW- 20) Bottom of the table Crystal Palace fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Albion. This defeat was the seventh in a row for Palace who have only one once during the season. Adlene Guedioura had the best chance for the losing side. Jack Dunn Jersey . Murray was delighted with his display in defeating Wawrinka The Scot has won all of them, although the Canadian was forced to pull out of their Paris Masters clash just last week due to a leg injury.Andy has had the better of him but theyve had some battles, but I actually think its a good thing theyve played as much as they have, said Petchey. Not just from the wins Andys had but also when you face a big server you want to try and find a pattern, you want to try and see the ball toss. One of the crucial things is the return and the fact Andy has played him as much as he has this year he is going to have a good understanding of whats coming at him, so I think from that perspective its very much a positive thing. Murray makes O2 semi-finals Andy Murray beats Stan Wawrinka at ATP World Tour Finals to reach semi-finals The wins that hes had will lead him to feel much more confident going into it and from our perspective as neutrals, the way that the semi-finals have fallen this gives us the potential of the blockbuster of a final that people we wondering whether we would have.Theres no question that you cant be complacent against a guy like Raonic with that kind of serve and those groundstrokes. If you give him an opportunity, then he will produce. And hes hungry. He wants to finish the season as number three, but thats something that will prompt him to be as motivated as he can and hell have learned from those losses as well.Andy will perhaps be expecting something a little bit different. Murray joined Leif Shiras at the SkyPad to look back at his victory over Wawrinka Petchey was delighted with Murrays display as he produced a ruthless performance against US Open champion Wawrinka, which took his winning streak to 22 matches and equalled his career best run earlier this year. Jon Flanagan Jersey. I thought it was fantastic - a well executed plan, he said. I think that he struck the ball considerably better than he did against Nishikori and both those two guys Nishikori and Stan can take your time away so thats probably going to be the most pleasing aspect for Andy, that he was able to dictate a lot of the points.I thought Stan started the match strongly as well, he really timed the ball well and once he gets his motor up and running hes a difficult man to stop. From Andys perspective I think hes always self-critical, but I think he will always find it difficult to find a fault with that performance. Heres the moment Murray equalled his career best run of 22 matches unbeaten Sky Sports commentator Barry Millns was also impressed with Murrays quick-fire demolition job and believes the best four players in the tournament have made it through to the last four.He said: Murray was playing with calm authority and playing as a world No 1 today. He didnt have the inner turmoil that he had perhaps in the earlier matches. To do that in under an hour and a half after the battle that he had against Nishikori, well that now is just the perfect tonic because it was short and very sweet and hes brought his game to the boil right on cue for the semi-finals.The four guys involved makes for a fantastic showdown after a great week. Despite not scoring a goal yet this season, Vancouver Whitecaps forward Darren Mattocks is a happy man these days. Christian Hackenberg Jets Jersey . "He is in a good place – his work rate has been fantastic and when centre forwards work that hard they will get their rewards and his are coming," head coach Carl Robinson told me. The 23-year-old Mattocks has started all four games for the Whitecaps so far, coming off in both home victories, but when he has been withdrawn he has been a very active, lively member of the bench, cheering a team on that he finally feels a part of. He told me: "We are playing really well, we just have to keep working on things, improving, making space for each other, do the simple things right and then getting the results. "The simple things in soccer will make the biggest difference – everything else will then fall into place. The cohesion in the group right now is really good, we added not only some fantastic players but fantastic people...fun, loving guys and thats helped contribute to our success." As Mattocks tells me about the winter additions he nods his head over towards Robinson in a way of recognition for what the Welshman was able to do before a ball was even kicked this season. It is easy to see the relationship between coach and player is an important one. Happy Mattocks + Happy Robinson = A focused player on the field. When Robinson was given the job in December many saw his adoption of Mattocks as a negative storyline, with some expecting the Whitecaps to trade the inconsistent striker. Robinson disagreed. He went to work on how to get the best out of the Jamaican immediately. "He was one of the first phone calls I made, after I got the job. I know he has fantastic attributes, he lost his way a bit last year and I knew confidence was a problem with him because I saw in training what he can be, but didnt see it enough on a regular basis in games. If you are not playing, as a young player, if you are not handled correctly then you dont develop. I told him I would help him with this, I said it wont be easy but it was important for me to make his base stronger so he understands that he has support in different situations." Robinsons Mattocks Project was not exclusively about the player himself. "I spoke to (Portland boss) Caleb Porter at the draft and he knew a bit about Darrens background and how he dealt with Darren when he was with him at Akron and I used that and philosophy and have taken his advice and it seems to be working. I have to say, he has come back with a renewed attitude and we are seeing the results." Mattocks acknowledges he is different this season and doesnt think twice as to why. "For him to take time for me, it says a lot for you as a player, of course, but also as a person because Carl knew me outside of soccer and thats really important. If you want to get more out of a player, perhaps some coaches take it for granted not knowing more about players outside of soccer, but Carl got to know me that way and thats translated now into our relationship back into soccer as well. Its a big confidence booster to know the coach has got your back, and is willing to play you game in, game out. We have a really good relationship." When asked if that is what he lacked in 2013, Mattocks refuses to be drawn on last season and his issues with then-coach Martin Rennie, saying: "I mean, I wouldnt say it wasnt there – just some things were missing last year and Carl has taken care of that and helped me focus more on my game." Despite playing sparingly under Rennie last year, the thing most people will remember Mattocks for last year was that interview he did in Jamaica where he certainly didnt help the image of himself or his club. Five months on, Mattocks says he has long since forgotten about it, saying: "I am an honest person, you know, it came out the wrong way and I take full responsibility for what I did, but its long gone and I have looked past it. I have learned from it, it will never happen again and I just need to keep looking forward." The Jamaican did admit that he prayed about the situation and leaned on his relationship with God afterwards. "Faith is the biggest thing for me. I have always put God first in everything, good and bad. There are times when people go through some trials and tribulations but I genuinely believe that if you have faith in God and you are a strong believer, everything else will take care of itself." During the off-season, Mattocks, who says he never goes out to party, spent a lot of down time with a small support group he trusts, including his girlfriend, mom and two elder brothers. However, he didnt need time away from the game. "I love soccer, I watch all the leagues but the Premier League is very big in Jamaica – they love it there – as a boy growing up there you dream of playing in the Premier League and hopefully, one day, I can play there but I dont want to get too far ahead of myself, for now I want to help this league grow and do my best for Vancouver." Mattocks doesnt hesitate when asked about his favourite player, almost breaking away from his quiet tone to shout Steven Gerrard. "My favourite team is Liverpool. Gerrard is a fantastic leader and role model and I try to emulate him on the field as much as I can. Its been a great season, amazing and hopefully we can get the title, we have a pretty good chance." We talk more about the Premier League and when we talk about when Robinson was playing at that level, his eyes widen in awe of his new mentor. "Hes a lucky guy eh? Thats why he is really good as a manager because he is played there and in MLS and as a young coach he is really fantastic, I know he is going to be a really good coach for a long time." As well as helping Mattocks to one day reach another level, Robinson has helped him get his passion back for the game. "Firstly, I have to be grateful to God for giving me this opportunity and I need to thank God for giving me this talent but, to be honest, it is a fantastic feeling to play professional soccer game in, game out, it is great. "I tell my girlfriend all of the time I just dont think I could do a 9 to 5 job, take nothing away from those who do it, but I am really happy with what I am doing and I am so grateful to God and I hope I continue to have success and making sure I do the small things right." Now a Jamaican international goalscorer, Mattocks dreams of making it to the 2018 World Cup in Russia but his priorities for 2014 are firmly set on the ground in Vancouver where the maturation process continues to be in effect, on and off the field, as he learns from experienced players like Jay DeMerit, Kenny Miller and Andy OBrien. "They know what it takes, they have played at the highest level and they bring their leadership and experience but, importantly, they are so humble and its a real credit to all of those guys that they want this club to grow. They are really even keel – they dont get too high or low and thats rubbing off on the young players, and it is most definitely, rubbing off on me." A smiling Mattocks leaves the interview with a spring in his step. The only thing to make him happier would be a goal to ignite his season. Oh, and a certain player lifting a certain trophy at Anfield in May. Leonard Williams Jets Jersey . Some teams got significantly better, some teams divested themselves of talent and some teams had quiet afternoons, keeping the status quo. LARAMIE, Wyo. -- Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt was familiar with this feeling -- even if it had been a while. Riley Grabau scored 17 points, Larry Nance Jr. had 14 and the Cowboys beat No. 5 San Diego State 68-62 on Tuesday night to end the Aztecs 20-game winning streak. Shyatt was Wyomings coach 16 years ago -- almost to the day -- the last time a top-five team was upset in Arena-Auditorium. That was Feb. 12, 1998, when the Cowboys took down No. 5 Utah 62-56 on the same floor. "Its like a good bottle of wine -- it gets better with age," Shyatt said. The Cowboys (15-9, 6-5 Mountain West Conference) savored another marquee win Tuesday as fans rushed the court after the final buzzer, mobbing Wyoming players. "Their only other loss was to Arizona," Nance said. "I mean, to be in that category is awesome, you know? Fifth-ranked team, the fans storming the court like they did, it was spectacular." The Aztecs (21-2, 10-1) won 20 in row after losing to Arizona in their second game of the season. The streak tied the program mark set by the 2010-11 team, which finished a school-record 34-3 after reaching the Sweet Sixteen for the first time. "This is a tough league and you go on the road and it becomes even tougher. And with the win streak we had, I think everybody knows it and everybody talks about they want to be the team to break it and storm the court," SDSU coach Steve Fisher said. "And to Wyomings credit, they were the ones. They were the ones that did it. Thhey played better and they deserved one. Nick Folk Jets Jersey. " Dwayne Polee II led San Diego State with 15 points, followed by Xavier Thames with 13. "Youve just got to take it as a learning experience," said Thames, who was averaging 18.1 points. "Theres a lot of season left, so we cant hang our heads." Wyoming built a 16-point lead midway through the second half, catching the Aztecs defence lagging several times. At one point, the Cowboys slammed down four consecutive dunks. San Diego State mounted a furious comeback, closing within four points with 1:04 left and again with 40 seconds to go on two buckets by Winston Shepard, who finished with 10 points. But the Aztecs, who were averaging 73.4 points, failed to score again as Wyoming pulled away with free throws in the final 30 seconds. Nathan Sobey and Charlie Hankerson Jr. each had nine points for Wyoming, which used an efficient offence and a stifling defence to stop San Diego State. The game featured the top two defensive teams in the Mountain West. Entering the game, San Diego State was giving up an average of 56.6 points, while the Cowboys were allowing 60.4. But it was the Aztecs who had the most trouble making baskets, hitting 38 per cent of their field goals and committing 13 turnovers while Wyoming made 58 per cent of its attempts from the floor and had 11 turnovers. The Cowboys took a 32-23 halftime lead, closing out the last 4:20 of the first half with a 10-3 run keyed by two 3-pointers from Grabau. NFL Jerseys China cheap jerseys ' ' '
