The NHL has hired Chris Pronger to work in the department of player safety, deciding that having the future Hall of Fame defenceman in its office was worth the perceived conflict of interest. J.R. Smith Jersey .Pronger, whose career was ended by post-concussion symptoms almost three years ago, will continue to be on the Philadelphia Flyers long-term injured reserve. That was the only option for the team and league because if Pronger retired his cap hit of just under US$5 million would count against the Flyers salary cap.Chriss case is unique, commissioner Gary Bettman said earlier in the week during his season-opening news conference in Los Angeles. There are salary-cap reasons why he couldnt officially retire, but ... if in fact we go that route, Im not sure that presents any problem at all to deal with. Hes done playing. He gets paid no matter what from the Flyers. He doesnt owe them anything.Pronger will not take part in deliberations having to do with the Flyers, just as Patrick Burke abstains from those with the Calgary Flames, where his father, Brian, is president of hockey operations. The 39-year-old was suspended for a total of 20 regular-season and two playoff games during his playing career.Pronger will work under new vice president of player safety Stephane Quintal, who replaced Brendan Shanahan when he became president of the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Dryden, Ont., native who won two Olympic gold medals while representing Canada had been working in a scouting capacity for the Flyers. We have no interest in stopping Chris from getting on with his life, Philadelphia GM Ron Hextall told reporters Thursday night. Ia€?ll tell you that much.As for the negative salary-cap implications that would follow if Pronger were not allowed to remain on LTIR, Hextall said thats a different story.Prongers cap hit would continue to count if he retired or was placed on another kind of injured list because his current US$34.55-million, seven-year contract began after he turned 35.After taking an inadvertent high stick to the eye from then-Leafs forward Mikhail Grabovski on Oct. 24, Pronger began having vision and other problems. His last NHL game was Nov. 19, 2011.___With files from The Associated Press.Follow @SWhyno on Twitter Jeff Green Jersey . Vietnam won the first leg 2-1.COLUMBUS, Ohio - Clarke MacArthur and the Ottawa Senators used a big third period to put away the injury-riddled Columbus Blue Jackets.MacArthur had two goals and an assist, and Ottawa beat Columbus 5-2 on Tuesday night in the Blue Jackets first game since star goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky was sidelined by a broken finger. Our leadership group stepped up tonight on the road to make sure we went home with some points, Senators coach Paul MacLean said.Erik Karlsson added a goal and assist for Ottawa, which scored three times in the third while stopping a two-game slide. Zach Smith and Alex Chiasson also scored, Kyle Turris had two assists and Robin Lehner had 36 saves. We played pretty good hockey in the third period, said MacArthur, who has four goals this season. We gave up a couple of chances but Lehnny was right there to make the big saves when we needed him.David Savard and Cam Atkinson scored for Columbus, which has lost three in a row due in part to a rash of injuries.Centre Artem Anisimov went down after taking a shoulder in the second period that sent his helmet into the air and left him face down on the ice. Columbus coach Todd Richards said defenceman James Wisniewski broke a finger in the third and likely will miss one to two weeks.Whether Ive done something or someones done something to the hockey gods, Ive never seen any like this, Richards said. It seems like every time we play a game somebody is getting hurt. At least thats what it feels like right now.Curtis McElhinney had 29 saves subbing for Bobrovsky, who was injured in practice on Monday and is expected to miss at least a week. It was McElhinneys first appearance since injuring his neck in a goal-mouth collision on Oct. 18 in a 3-2 loss at Ottawa. The Blue Jackets also had a scare in Sundays 5-2 loss at Los Angeles when Nick Foligno was carted off on a stretcher in a neck brace. Forwards Brandon Dubinsky, Boone Jenner and Nathan Horton have yet to play this season because of serious injuries. While Columbus was struggling with injuriess, Ottawa got better as the game went along. We stuck to it and executed when we had to, Karlsson said. The game was tied at 2 before Ottawa converted a 3-on-1 at 3:41 of the third period, with Karlsson beating McElhinney with a wrist shot for his third of the season. It was nice, Karl snuck it in five-hole there, Lehner said. Its one of those good shots he does. A little sneaky. Thats why hes one of the best. The Senators then got a power-play opportunity when Corey Tropp was issued a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct for checking Mark Borowiecki into the corner dasher board from behind. Ottawa used a nice passing combination down low to make it 4-2 on Chiassons third of the season at 10:06. Borowiecki did not return. The specialty teams I think end up being the difference in the game, MacLean said.A minute later, MacArthur scored again, slipping home a bouncing puck that had eluded defenceman Ryan Murray. Each team converted a power play in the first period. Savard fired a slap shot from the right circle for his second at 5:18. MacArthur tied it a minute later on a nifty waist-high redirection from the slot.Ottawa made it 2-1 early in the second period on another redirection. After a sloppy Columbus breakout, Cody Ceci found Smith down low for his second. At the 8:04 mark, Anisimov, with his head down skating near the puck, was levelled along the boards by Eric Gryba in what the on-ice officials called a hit to the head. Gryba was assessed a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct, but Columbus couldnt convert the opportunity.Columbus did respond with just over a minute left in the period. After a faceoff win and quick touch pass from Wisniewski, Atkinson scored from the right circle.Tonight, I thought the players took charge of it and did a real good job, MacLean said.NOTES: Rookie G Anton Forsberg was added to the Columbus roster on emergency recall from the teams AHL affiliate. ... ALLEN PARK, Mich. Victor Oladipo Jersey . -- After two injury-filled seasons, Detroit Lions receiver Ryan Broyles is ready to get going. "Im out here making plays," Broyles said. "I feel confident in what Ive shown this preseason. Its just the beginning for me." Broyles confidence couldnt come at a better time. The 2012 second-round draft pick has been thrust into a position competition after an ACL injury shortened his rookie season, and a ruptured Achilles in Week 8 against the Cowboys ended his 2013 season. Those injuries were partially responsible for Detroits acquisition of free agent receiver Golden Tate during the off-season. Tates arrival, coupled with Detroits decision to draft receiving tight end Eric Ebron with the 10th overall pick, meant that Broyles would have to fight to remain with the Lions during training camp. Broyles response to the challenge has been a solid one. He leads all Lions receivers with eight catches for 113 yards in Detroits first three preseason games, and his effort hasnt been lost on coach Jim Caldwell. "The quarterbacks like him," Caldwell said after Detroits third preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. "(Broyles) has an unusual knack of being able to split two defenders with speed and power. His hands are reliable. Hes doing a nice job." Broyles said the key to his preseason performances is the fact that hes been able to participate in nearly all of Detroits training camp workouts for the first time in his career. "This is the first time that Ive gotten the full feel of the offence and rhythm with the quarterbacks," he said. "I feel like Im in a good spot." Broyles faces competition from a trio of receivers with experience in the Lions organization. Kris Durham played in all 16 games for the Lions in 2013. At 6-foot-6, his height gives Detroit an extra option in multi-receiver formations. Durham also has a close relationship with Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford going back to when they were college teammates at Georgia. Veteran Kevin Ogletree was signed by Detroit in October 2013, and has six years of experience as both a receiver and special teams contributor. Ogletree believes that his efforts during training camp will be enough to remain with the team, but he admitted the competition to join Calvin Johnson, Tate, and return specialist Jeremy Ross on the roster has been difficult. "Its very healthy to have this many guys that want to be great," Ogletree said. "Big decisions always happen around this time. Its the beauty of this game, but its sort of the beast of it, too." Second-year player Corey Fuller spent the 2013 season on the Lions practice squad, and the former sixth-round draft pick is eligible to return there this year. Fuller, Durham, Ogletree and Broyles are all expected to receive extended playing time during Thursdays preseason finale against the Buffalo Bills. Just how many roster places the quartet are fighting for is unclear. That answer depends on the amount of depth Caldwell wants to commit to the position given that Ebron and tight end Brandon Pettigrew give Stafford additional receiving options. Regardless of how many spots are up for grabs, Fuller said he understands just how important Thursdays game is to his career. "Its my last chance to show coaches what I can do," he said. "Hopefully I can stick around." Thaddeus Young Jersey .35 million. "Weve given ourselves now a tougher task," said Carlyle after the Friday practice, the Toronto head coach notably chipper and upbeat throughout. "But the bottom line is we just have to win our share of games [and] not worry about what anybody else is doing.PHOENIX - Hes been called the Evil Genius, and hes been fined for spying on an opponent. And now there are questions about deflated footballs.Any visual portrait of Bill Belichick likely has him wearing a hoodie — and a scowl. Many of his media duties are marked by terse answers or outright stonewalling. All of which masks the impact and longevity of the New England Patriots boss, the winningest coach in post-season NFL history.Belichick is about to lead his team into its sixth Super Bowl in 14 seasons. No one, not Chuck Noll or Tom Landry or Marv Levy or Bill Walsh — all Hall of Famers — managed that. Since Belichick took over the Patriots in 2000 after a five-season flop as head man in Cleveland, there have been 119 coaching changes. In the AFC East alone, which the Patriots have won 12 of 14 seasons, 17 coaches have come and gone, according to STATS.Belichick is the constant.I think Coach is always pretty consistent with how hes dealt with our team, Tom Brady said. You dont ride the highs and lows of the season. Whether its one win or one loss, you just try to get better and make improvements, and youve got to play your best at the end.Its hard to make our team. Coach Belichick puts a lot of pressure on guys in training camp. If you make the team, you know that you have the confidence of the coaches that you can help us win. Everybodys got a skill. Everybodys got a skill set. Whoever is on the field has to be able to go out there and perform their job.In the face of the controversies and criticisms the Patriots have faced during his tenure, Belichicks approach remains the same. Yes, he often comes off as ornery, but thats because hed rather be coaching, rather be teaching, rather be dissecting film. But according to Vince Wilfork, other than Brady the longest-tenured Patriot, Belichick has changed somewhat. Out of necessity.Yeah, Ive seen the difference in Bill in the 11 years that I have been here, and I tell him he is getting soft, the defensive tackle joked. But this is a different era of football now with how the team is shaped up, and how a lot of guys are younger guys. You dont really have that veteran team that he used to have. When I first came in the league, he had a veteran team that didnt take much to get those guys going. But hes more understanding now. I think when you get so used to having a certain quality of players and it changes, its hard for you to adapt to change. And I think Bill had to do a good job of that ever since Ive been in the league because weve changed so much. Custom Indiana Pacers Jerseys. .Pretty much every successful Super Bowl coach had to follow that path. Certainly Noll did as Pittsburgh evolved from the Steel Curtain-dominated squads to a high-scoring bunch. So did Landry, several times, depending on if he had a Doomsday Defence or a potent attack built around Roger Staubach.Belichicks first Super Bowl team back in 2001 was fundamentally sound on both sides of the ball, but far more aggressive on defence, his specialty. Indeed, Brady was almost a caretaker that season.Belichick knew he had something very special in Brady, though, and when the quarterback rapidly developed, the coach loosened the reins. When they won their consecutive titles for the 2003 and 2004 seasons, Brady was a budding star. When Belichick recognized that, he built an unstoppable offence around Brady. In some ways, he was ahead of the game, again. While the NFL was evolving into pass-crazy league, the Patriots already were there with Brady throwing to Randy Moss and Wes Welker.By 2007, Brady was the best quarterback in the league, breaking records and guiding New England to a perfect regular season.Dont think other coaches around the NFL havent paid attention. His counterpart in this Super Bowl, Seattles Pete Carroll, actually was replaced in New England by Belichick.I know that when (owner Robert Kraft) was making his choice to hire coach Belichick, I had one opportunity to say something to him about that, Carroll said. And I thought that was really a unique hire, a special hire and a guy that would really fit in well if (Kraft) let him do what he was capable of doing. I think Bill is a very open, free-thinker and a guy that needs that kind of control to be at his best. Its worked historically and in extraordinary fashion. To Wilfork, nothing has changed, yet so much has changed. We were a veteran team, (then) it was a younger team; at one point we were the youngest team in the league, said. So I think he had to try to find the identity in what works for that team. And I think hes done a great job over the years of doing that. But at the end of the day, he is still Bill. He coaches the same way. He demands everything the same way. But I think hes got a little soft heart now. Over time, he got a little softer, though.Even if he is loath to show it publicly.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Cheap Authentic Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys 2018 Cheap Jerseys Wholesale Wholesale Authentic Jerseys Cheap Authentic Jerseys Cheap Authentic Jerseys ' ' '

PORTLAND, Ore. Mark Glowinski Jersey . - Once Gerald Green gets going, he doesnt think he can be stopped. Green scored 18 of his 32 points in the second half and the Phoenix Suns rallied for a 109-93 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night. "Thats what Gerald does," Phoenix coach Jeff Hornacek said of Green, who made 12 of 20 shots from the field, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range. "When he gets going, you just kind of let him go. "There are times when you go, Uh, oh, what are we going to see next? He got a little wild, but he feels nobody can ever stop him. Thats the confidence he has." Eric Bledsoe finished with 30 points and Goran Dragic added 19 for the Suns (45-31), who denied the Blazers (49-2 a chance to clinch a Western Conference playoff berth while beating Portland for the third time in four games. Trailing 67-57, the Suns outscored Portland 22-13 over the final 6:48 of the third quarter to pull within 80-77, then scored the first seven points of the fourth to take the lead for good. Robin Lopez and LaMarcus Aldridge each scored 18 points for the Blazers, who had their four-game win streak snapped and dropped two games behind Houston for the Wests No. 4 playoff spot. "Im glad we dont have to play Phoenix anymore," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "Obviously, theyre active on the offensive glass and extra possessions hurt us. Usually I like our chances when we hold a team to 40 per cent shooting, but give the Suns credit." The Suns, battling Dallas and Memphis for the Wests final two playoff berths, took the lead for good at 81-80 when Green threw the ball off the backboard and dunked to open the fourth quarter, touching off a 20-5 run that all but put the game out of reach with 5:07 remaining. Markieff Morris scored 12 points for the Suns, who finished with a 59-48 advantage in rebounds, a 24-6 advantage in fast-break points, and a 48-32 edge in points in the paint. "We just had a little more determination, I guess," said Bledsoe, who scored 14 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter. "Everybody knew if wed lost this game, it was going to be tougher going forward." The Suns still face a daunting six-game stretch to close out the regular season, including home games against Oklahoma City and Memphis, and road games against San Antonio and Dallas. "Our destiny is in our own hands, because we still play Dallas and Memphis," Dragic said. "Those two games are going to be really huge for us. Win those games and its going to be really close." The Suns, looking to bounce back from Wednesdays 112-108 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, got a pair of 3-pointers from Green during a 13-2 run that gave them a 26-19 lead with 1:29 to play in the first quarter. They led 51-45 but then came up empty on their final nine possessions of the second quarter, going 0 for 11 from the field with two missed free throws and a turnover as the Blazers outscored them 9-0 in the closing 3:17 of the half to take a 54-51 halftime lead. Aldridge, held to four first-half points, made 5 of 8 shots from the field and two free throws, giving him 12 third-quarter points as the Blazers carried an 80-79 lead into the fourth. The Blazers, coming off Tuesdays 124-112 road win over the Los Angeles Lakers, got 15 points from Damian Lillard and shot 43 per cent (35 of 81) to the Suns 40 per cent (39 of 97). Both teams also made 6 of 21 shots from 3-point range. Notes: The last time the Suns had a player score at least 30 points off the bench was when Dragic had 32 points in a 124-115 loss at Utah on Jan. 25, 2010. . The 16-point loss was the second-worst loss for the Blazers at home this season, ranking behind a 98-81 loss to Memphis on Jan. 28. . The Suns went into Fridays gave averaging an NBA-best 18.6 fast-break points and had scored 20 or more fast-break points in 36 games this season. . Lopez was originally drafted by the Suns in the first round (15th pick overall) of the 2008 NBA draft and played four seasons with Phoenix from 2008-12, averaging 5.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 242 games. BEAVER CREEK, Colo. -- Lindsey Vonn knows it was just some youthful exuberance when teenager Mikaela Shiffrin playfully announced she was dreaming of winning five gold medals at the next Winter Olympics. Vonn certainly appreciates such a lofty goal by Shiffrin, who captured the slalom title at the Sochi Games last month. A light-hearted warning, though. "Im going to compete in the 2018 Olympics," Vonn said with a laugh. "So shes going to have tough competition in the speed events." With four years down the road in mind, Vonn is taking it slow with her surgically repaired right knee. She said she doesnt anticipate a return to racing until early December. The four-time overall World Cup champion had her ACL fixed for a second time in January, sidelining her for Sochi. As it turned out, there was "quite a bit of meniscus damage" in the knee and thats caused her to push back her time frame. Vonn hopes to train on snow by October and be racing in Lake Louise, Alberta, two months later, on a hill where shes always done well. But thats all tentative. No sense rushing back to racing, no matter how antsy shes growing to step back into the starting gate. "If I have to push the date back when I start, so be it," Vonn told The Associated Press on Saturday. "To ensure the next four years go smoothly, I have to give this meniscus some time to heal." In between rehabilitation sessions, the 29-year-old Vonn is finding plenty of other things to occupy her time. Shes sneaking in some fly fishing with her dog, Leo, starting a new foundation and having coffee with skiing great Annemarie Moser-Proell, whose record Vonn is chasing. Vonn remains three wins from matching the World Cup record of 62 race victories by Moser-Proell. "She wants me to break her record," Vonn said. "You dont see that. I think shes a really, really nice person and I really enjoyed spending time with her." Vonn ventured around Beaver Creek on Saturday to support "Ski Girls Rock," a program that focuses on empowering girls through skiing. She met with the kids, signed autographs, posed for pictures and then called a brief timeout to sit on an outdoor couch near a fire pit to rest her knee and film a video. She put an ice bag on the knee as she settled iinto the couch. Sheldon Richardson Jersey. "The knee is coming along nicely," she said. "Its obviously a slow process, but Im making progress every day, so thats good." Vonn has already decided shes not even going to try to walk every hole as she trails boyfriend Tiger Woods around at the Masters next month -- provided, of course, Woods even plays, given his ailing back. "Well see how far I make it," Vonn said. "With my meniscus the way it is, its not great to be on my feet all the time." Vonn tore two ligaments in her right knee during a high-speed crash at the world championships in February 2013. She then re-injured her surgically repaired ACL in a crash during training last November. Vonn tried to rehab the knee in time for Sochi, but sprained her MCL racing a downhill in France on Dec. 21. Even though it was difficult not competing in Sochi, Vonn said she caught nearly all of the races. However, her computer crashed just before the second run of the womens slalom. She missed quite a recovery from Shiffrin, who overcame a major mistake to win gold. "Mikaela is skiing incredible," Vonn said. "With her slalom, shes in a league of her own right now." Very soon, Shiffrin will be stepping into Vonns domain -- the speed events. Shiffrin recently squeezed in some super-G training at Beaver Creek on Raptor, the race hill for the world championships next February. She may just ski a few speed events next season. "Ideally, I would race my first super-G with all these girls at the world champions at Beaver Creek and win," said Shiffrin, who was thrown a welcome-home party by Vail on Friday. "Thats my mindset, where Im going to come out of the wood-work and be like, Ive never raced against you girls and Im starting bib 60 and Im going to beat you all. Thats not really possible. But well see how it goes." While Shiffrin is emerging as the next big thing, some of Vonns good friends on the circuit -- like Maria Hoefl-Riesch of Germany -- are calling it a career. "Its going to be weird to not have them there," Vonn said. "Im just really itching to get back to racing. I want to race. "Thats the only frustration I have in my life right now, which is not bad. It means things are pretty good." Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca! Good Day Kerry, I have been involved with hockey for 52 years. I grew up and continue to live in the town of Forest, Ontario. Your father used to coach the AAA midgets in Sarnia when I was a Juvenile hockey player in Forest. The midgets used to play in the Juvenile league. We had some great games back then. No one worried about getting hurt. It was a great time. I also used to play hockey with Terry Gregson at the University of Western Ontario. He lived on the same floor in residence. Enough of my rambling. If your schedule permits I would be interested in your thoughts on this. I was sitting at the dinner table tonight having supper and watching the hockey highlights from the Boston/Tampa Bay game and witnessed the Steven Stamkos incident. It was obvious from what I saw that Dougie Hamilton took out Stamkoss legs. The result is a broken keg. Was there a penalty? Should there have been one? Thank you,Allan J. Wilson --- Hi Kerry, like your column. I watched the Steven Stamkos injury play today - on the replay it looked like Dougie Hamilton gave him a quick shot to the back or quick cross-check causing Stamkos to propel uncontrolled into the goal post - possibly Im wrong but it sure looked that way on the three replays I watched. The referee appeared to be in a very good position to see this but called no penalty. Im curious if you saw it the same and since there no penalty but a serious injury might the league look at this or given the perceived or real bias towards the Bruins and a few other teams is this likely to go unpunished whether I am correct or not? JB Allan and JB:Witnessing the snap of Steven Stamkos tibia against the goal post brought an immediate sick feeling to my stomach no differently than watching Pat Peake, the Washington Capitals first pick in the 91 Amateur Draft (14th overall), shatter his right heel in 14 places as he raced to negate an icing in a game on April 26, 1996 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Peake went airborne from just below the goal line after getting a nudge on the back of his skate from J.J. Daigneault. The tripping penalty I assessed to Daigneault on the play was of little consolation to tthe budding Caps star who was forced to retire from the game two years later following multiple surgeries at the tender age of 23. Duane Brown Jersey. We can only hope that Stamkos will recover fully from the surgery he underwent on Tuesday following what I deem to be an unfortunate accident as a result of minor body contact exerted by Bruins talented young defenceman Dougie Hamilton. The fact that Stamkos did not have the puck and the contact or "nudge" was initiated by Hamilton which caused Stamkos to lose his footing, a minor penalty could have been called for interference. The location and extent of contact however was very difficult to ascertain even with slow-motion replay so it would be almost impossible for the Ref to determine interference had been committed as both players went hard to the net. With Hamilton jumping up on the play and racing toward the net Stamkos took the inside lane away with a solid back check. Hamilton is seen approaching from behind and makes a downward chop in an attempt to eliminate Stamkos stick for a potential rebound. The two players were almost hip to hip as Stamkos applied the brakes and started to snow plough near the top of the goal crease. Hamilton nudged Stamkos on the hip or pushed off as the two players were in contact with one another causing the Lightning superstar to lose his footing and crash into the goal post. The result was sickening for sure as Stamkos sustained a serious injury. Aside from Steven Stamkos, I would bet there isnt anyone that feels worse about the injury than Dougie Hamilton. There was no malicious intent or aggressive physical contact demonstrated by Hamilton on this play. Incidental contact and battles for position like this happen frequently throughout every game that can result in a loss of balance and fall to one or both players. I see this as one of those unfortunate times. It was great to reconnect with you Allan but todays NHL is played at an unbelievably fast pace where injuries such as this do occur and we werent susceptible to as young players. I am sure you have followed Steven Stamkos from his Junior "A" days with the Sarnia Sting and know what a truly great person he is beyond just his superstar status as a hockey player. We wish Steven Stamkos the very best for a full and speedy recovery. Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork. Eddie Goldman Jersey .com) - The Oakland Athletics acquired first baseman Ike Davis from the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday, three days after he was designated for assignment. The teams swapped international bonus slots as part of the deal, with the Pirates gaining the No. 27 slot and the As landing slot No. 86 from Pittsburgh. Davis finished fifth in the National League with 32 home runs while with the New York Mets in 2012 and spent the majority of last season as Pittsburghs regular first baseman. The 27-year-old hit just .233 with 11 homers and 51 RBI in 143 games between the Pirates and Mets in 2014, however. Over five major league seasons, Davis owns a .240 average with 78 homers and 270 RBI. To create room for Davis on the 40-man roster, Oakland designated outfielder Andrew Brown for assignment. Brown spent most of last season with the Mets Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas (PCL), batting .283 with 21 homers and 69 RBI in 103 games. The 30-year- old was claimed off waivers from New York by the As on Oct. 31. Dion Sims Jersey . You can watch the game live on TSN and TSN GO at 3pm et/Noon pt. When I watch the videos side by side, I still cant believe how much better Kanes looks. The speed of his quick touches are out of this world. He keeps a very wide stance and seems to move through the pucks with ease. To the eyes of everyone watching, it is amazing because its hard for us to comprehend the speed at which he stickhandles, and the accuracy of his stickhandling. Hes in complete control! He switched back to his first number this summer when he went back to Cleveland, where he played until leaving in 2010.Its the first time James Cavaliers jersey topped the list since 2004, his rookie season, and the first time the Cavs have been No. 1 on the team merchandise list.Golden States Stephen Curry jumped five spots to No. 2 on the list, which is based on overall sales from adidas and NBAStore.com from October-December, 2014.Oklahoma Citys Kevin Durant, the Lakers Kobe Bryant and Chicagos Derrick Rose rounded out the top five. Less than 24 hours later, in the same arena, he tried to recreate the magic of his all-time favourite player. Hed implode in the short program of the U.S. Championships, buried in seventh place with an Olympic berth out of reach. "I would wake up crying, and it was just horrifying," he said. The reality Friday was nothing like that. A spotless performance set a U.S. record with 99.86 points in his final nationals before retiring. "I wouldnt say it was a dream, because I was very in it," Abbott said. "I was very focused and very aware of what I was doing the entire program. I think thats why it was as good as it was." The three-time U.S. champ leads Richard Dornbush by 7.82 points heading into Sundays free skate. "Honestly, I have much more confidence in the long program than I do in the short program," Abbott said. The only time he came close to falling was when he nearly tumbled during his celebration afterward. The three jumps were perfect, his footwork exuberant. Hes dazzled like this before at U.S. Championships, but there have been few of these moments since his last title two years ago. Abbott often struggled as he overhauled his training program. "When things didnt work at competition, I believed in what weve done," he said. "And I just kept plugging at it, and it paid off tonight." Usually he bubbles with energy in the lead-up to nationals, his favourite event. The 28-year-old Abbott felt strangely nonchalant this year until the day before he headed to Boston. "I just realized that I was leaving and this was the last one," Abbott said. "I had this flood of emotion and excitement and fear and dread and passion and everything. Since Ive been here, its been really joyous." World champions Meryl Davis and Charlie White felt the same way earlier Friday in their short dance. The 2010 Olympic silver medallists are well on their way to a sixth straight U.S. title. Skating to selections from "My Fair Lady," Davis and White broke their own record with 80.69 points to build more than a seven-point lead on Madison Chock and Evan Bates. Siblings Maia and Alex Shibutani were third; three teams will go to Sochi. The free dance is Saturday. "This is the first time we felt comfortable enough to let things happen naturally," Davis said. "This is the fifth time weere competing the program. Deyshawn Bond Jersey. With this program, its all about being comfortable enough to let things happen naturally, and when you reach a point where it can be just fun, thats what we really enjoy about skating." Abbott has enjoyed U.S. Championships far more than major international competitions in his career. He beat Evan Lysacek at the 2010 nationals before the last Olympics, only to finish ninth when his countryman captured gold in Vancouver. Abbott held the previous U.S. mark for a short program, 90.23 at the 2012 nationals. Dornbush, 22, has struggled since coming in second in 2011 and didnt even compete in the Grand Prix series this season. Only the second skater of the night, he was spectacular from the get-go Friday, landing a perfect quad and triple axel that had the fans entranced. By the time his 2 1/2-minute program was done, the crowd was on its feet, Dornbush was on his knees throwing an imaginary punch through the air and celebrating a career best. "Im not sure any thoughts went through my head," he said. "I was pretty excited, pretty pumped." Jason Brown was in third after a smokin skate to Princes "The Question of U." He even wore a black and purple costume embellished with rhinestones around his neck and down his back and side, plus Princes "love symbol" on the back. He nailed a triple axel and a triple flip-triple toe loop with gorgeous flow to open the program. Brown, who just turned 19, added a lutz with both hands above his head, footwork that meshed with every element and with every nuance of the music, and speedy spins that had the crowd roaring. "I think the whole season has pushed every guy to just really push themselves to their limits because anything is possible at this event," he said. Defending champion Max Aaron was fourth, one of five skaters to land a clean quad. The U.S. will send two men to Sochi. Abbott knows exactly what stands between him and a shot at Olympic redemption: eight jumping passes, 13 jumps, three spins and two series of footwork. "That was just fun," he said. "I love to figure skate. When you hit all the technical stuff and you do all the athletic part, thats when you can really enjoy the performance." ___ AP Sports Writers Barry Wilner and Jimmy Golen contributed to this report. Rory McIlroy has targeted a summer of success after producing a stunning finish to win the Irish Open for the first time at The K Club. Jamie McGinn Jersey . McIlroy was in danger of blowing a three-shot lead after 54 holes for the second time this season after Scotlands Russell Knox carded four birdies and an eagle in the first 15 holes of a dramatic final round. Wentworth ways to watch Dont miss a moment of this weeks BMW PGA Championship, with extended coverage from Wentworth live However, the world No 3 then birdied the par-five 16th as Knox three-putted and, after lipping out for a birdie on the 17th, fired a stunning approach from 252 yards to within three feet of the hole on the 18th for a closing eagle. The resulting 69 on a day interrupted twice by hailstorms and torrential rain meant McIlroy finished three shots clear of Knox and Wales Bradley Dredge. He will donate his first prize of £515,000 to his own foundation which hosted the tournament for the second year. It means a lot for my summer, said McIlroy, who failed to convert a similar position in the WGC-Cadillac Championship in March. Its nice to get that first win of the year.I kept telling myself, kept telling anyone that would listen, my game was close. It was just a matter of everything clicking. Maybe those last three holes is the catalyst for another big summer. Rory McIlroy reveals he was holding back the tears on the 18th after winning the Irish Open The 27-year-old, who won four times in 2014 including two majors and a maiden WGC title, added: I really feel like my game is in good enough shape to kick on from here and to challenge in the three final majors, and obviously everything else we have to play for this year, Olympics, Ryder Cup, Race to Dubai, FedEx Cup.The 13th European Tour title of McIlroys career was not enough to improve his position in the world rankings, but it did lift him to second in the Race to Dubai behind Masters champion Danny Willett, who shared the lead at halfway but slumped to a closing 77. McIlroy puts himself in prime position to win the Irish Open after firing this five wood to within two feet of the pin on the 18th That left Knox as McIlroys biggest challenger and the US-based Scot took the lead with birdies on the 14th and 15th, only for McIlroy to produce a stunning approach from 273 yards to set up a two-putt birdie on the 16th, while Knox found sand off the tee and three-putted for a costly bogey.I played brilliant to be honest, Knox said. Obviously 16 is a huge turning point, but the shots that Rory hit in the end, he deserves to win. I shot 75 the first day and finished tied second. Oliver Carr paced Carroll (10-4) with 10 points, while Zach Taylor and Nick Williams had nine each in the lopsided loss. ARLINGTON, Texas - If Tony Romo really is becoming the second option in the Dallas offence, hes perfectly happy handing the leading role to DeMarco Murray. Nick Perry Jersey .I love that kid, Romo said after the two paired up to produce all four touchdowns in the Cowboys sixth straight victory, 31-21 over the New York Giants on Sunday. He really exemplifies everything you want in a player. Hes hard-working. Hes humble. Hes a team-first guy. Hes talented. Hes explosive. And now Murray is the first running back in NFL history to start a season with seven straight 100-yard games, breaking Hall of Famer Jim Browns 56-year-old record. Murray ran for 128 yards and a late touchdown that came after a replay reversal, which denied Romo his fourth touchdown pass.I think we did it as a group, said Murray, the NFL rushing leader with 913 yards. Its hard for me to accept this individually.Romo settled for three scoring tosses, and the Cowboys (6-1) kept rolling after beating Super Bowl champion Seattle on the road last week. Its their best start since winning six of their first seven on the way to a 13-3 finish in 2007, when they were the top seed in the NFC before losing to New York in their first playoff game.I think our record is above what we could have expected, but we have it and its a credit to a team thats building in their confidence, owner Jerry Jones said. That wasnt the same team that went to Seattle, that came home from Seattle, and I know this team, the Giants, had a lot to say, a lot to prove today.Eli Manning had three touchdown passes for the Giants (3-4), who have lost road games to the NFC Easts top two teams in consecutive weeks. New York now has two-game skids on either side of a three-game winning streak.Weve lost a couple important games in a row, but we have a lot of games to play, coach Tom Coughlin said. Were going to have to do something about it. Our consistency has to be there.Second-year Dallas tight end Gavin Escobar had his first two-touchdown game, and Dez Bryant finished with a season-high 151 yards receiving. Romo was 17 of 23 for 279 yards with an interception.Bryant was the one who had the touchdown taken away when he stretched his left arm over the goal line as he was being tackled by Prince Amukamara. The call was overturned on review, and Murray scored on the next play for a 28-14 fourth-quarter lead.Murray didnt return in the first half after falling down in the open field on his longest run before halftime, a 21-yard sprint around right end. He spent a few minutes with trainers on the sideline but didnt leave the field. The fourth-year back from Oklahoma returned in the second half and broke Browns record on a 1-yard plunge early in the fourth quarter after a 15-yard carry put him on the verge of setting the mark. His 28 carries marked the second time this season there were more Murray runs than Romo passes. After the Giants pulled within seven on Odell Beckham Jr.s second touchdown catch, Murray had seven carries on a time-killing drive to Dan Baileys 49-yard field goal for a two-score lead with 1:05 to go.Youve heard me say this thousands of times, coach Jason Garrett said. Bell cow, whatever you want to call him. Were going to hand him the ball. And we believe in that. Hes certainly capable of handling that.New York tight end Larry Donnell had team highs of seven catches for 90 yards but fumbled twice. The first one set up Murrays touchdown and the second clinched the Dallas victory in the final minute.Beckham was starting in Victor Cruzs place in the Giants first game since their star receiver was taken off the field in tears when he tore the patellar tendon in his right knee in last weeks 27-0 loss at Philadelphia. Its definitely hard not having him out there, said Beckham, who had four catches for 34 yards. Just his presence. Its something where all the receivers just have to step up now and fill his shoes. The first score for Beckham was a 9-yard catch for a 7-all tie in the second quarter. The Giants went ahead less than 4 minutes later on Mannings 27-yard pass to Daniel Fells on the first play after Bryant fell on a deep route, giving Amukamara an easy interception that he returned 38 yards.NOTES: Manning was 21 of 33 for 248 yards. ... Luongo made 25 saves, while Dmitry Kulikov and Jesse Winchester each scored power-play goals to lead the Panthers over the Buffalo Sabres 2-0 on Friday night. Luongo, acquired in a trade with Vancouver on Tuesday, was in net for the first time for Florida since April 18, 2006. Luongo previously played for Florida from 2000-2006. "Kudos to all the guys in front of me tonight. It was really a team effort," Luongo said. "Shutouts are always nice, but at the end of the day its about the wins. We did a good job." Luongo received a warm reception from the fans, with chants of "Louuuuu" resonating from the stands after every save. "It was nice. It was a great reception right off the start of the game," Luongo said. It was the fourth shutout of the season for Luongo. His last was on Dec. 13, a 4-0 win for Vancouver over Edmonton in which he made 19 saves. It was the first regular-season shutout for the Panthers since a 2-0 win over Carolina on March 11, 2012 in which Jose Theodore had 34 saves. Michal Neuvirth stopped 42 shots in his first start for Buffalo since being acquired from Washington last Wednesday. It was a great performance by Neuvirth, seeing his first action since before the Olympic break. "This was my first time with a new team; for sure I was nervous," Neuvirth said. "Ive been practicing hard, but a game is a different story." The Panthers won for just the second time in seven games. The Sabres lost their second in six games. Florida went ahead 2-0 on its second power-play goal. Kulikov took a slap shot from above the right circle that beat Neuvirth on the stick side at 4:04 of the second period. Neuvirth never saw it coming as he was screened on the play. "I?just saw a bunch of bodies in front of the net," Kulikov said. "I was screaming for the puck because I was wide open." The Panthers scored two power-play goals for the thhird time this season. Clay Matthews Jersey. The last time was Dec. 3 against Ottawa. The Panthers grabbed a 1-0 lead when Winchester took a pass from Scottie Upshall in the low slot and flipped it over Neuvirths glove midway in the first period. The goal came with just 5 seconds left in a power play that lasted 6:30, including a 5-on-3 for 25 seconds. The Panthers have been woeful on the power play, entering the game 30th in the league. That extended penalty was due to a delay of game on Matt DAgostini. About 30 seconds later, Buffalos Marcus Foligno drew a five-minute major and a game misconduct when he drove Brandon Pirri into the boards. Pirri left briefly, but returned later in the period. "I dont think it was worthy of getting kicked out of the game," Foligno said. "That put our team in a tough position and I think it was a tough call to make." The Sabres were outshot 30-13 through the first two periods, and 44-25 in the game. They may have been sluggish after playing their second game in as many nights, beating Tampa Bay 3-1 on Thursday. That victory was costly as the Sabres lost forwards Zemgus Girgensons and Chris Stewart with lower body injuries. "Back-to-back games this late in the season, its tough for anybody," Sabres coach Ted Nolan said. "For two nights in a row, it was really tough." It didnt get any better on Friday, as defenceman Alexander Sulzer suffered a lower body injury and will be out one to two weeks, according to Nolan. The Panthers were awarded a penalty shot in the second period when Drew Stafford tripped Sean Bergenheim skating in on Neuvirth. But Neuvirth easily stopped Bergenheims shot with his stick. NOTES: Buffalo recalled Luke Adam and Nicolas Deslauriers from AHL Rochester due to injuries. Both played in Fridays game, with Deslauriers making his NHL debut. ... Florida C Vincent Trocheck made his NHL debut after being called up from AHL San Antonio on Wednesday. ... Upshall has six points in his last seven games. BATA, Equatorial Guinea - Equatorial Guinea taking over late as host of the African Cup of Nations may not be great for the tour

BATA, Equatorial Guinea - Equatorial Guinea taking over late as host of the African Cup of Nations may not be great for the tournaments troublesome last-minute planning, but its pretty good for the home team. Clay Matthews Jersey .Six months ago, Equatorial Guinea was thrown out of the African soccer championship for cheating in qualifying. On Saturday, it will play in the tournaments opening game against Republic of Congo in front of its own red and blue-clad fans. How did that happen?Equatorial Guinea stepped in late last year when Morocco pulled out as host because of Ebola, fearing the deadly virus might spread during the 16-team, three-week tournament. With its decision to stand in, Equatorial Guinea earned a spot for its team in place of Morocco. When the Equatorial Guinea team learned it would participate in the CAN (African Cup), it was very quick. Quick, quick, Equatorial Guineas newly-appointed Argentine coach Esteban Becker said on Friday. And we have organized the team for a new coach. But the players mentality ... for them the mentality is very happy for the African Cup.The national team is theoretically picked from a population of just over 700,000 people, although foreign-born players once dominated the Equatorial Guinea lineup and sometimes got the country into trouble. Equatorial Guineas initial disqualification last year was for selecting a player from neighbouring Cameroon. At this African Cup, the teams strength will again be playing at home, as it was three years ago when it co-hosted the Cup of Nations and reached the quarterfinals, surprising Senegal on the way. Were not thinking about the quarterfinals, the semifinals or the final, captain Javier Balboa, who once played for Real Madrids reserve team, said ahead of this campaign. Game by game by game.In 2012, Equatorial Guineas riotous home support spurred it on. But on Friday, just a few supporters stood outside a broken-down ticket office on the outskirts of Bata Stadium, one wearing a wooly Equatorial Guinea hat and team scarf in the 30-degree heat and sweltering equatorial humidity. It didnt look like a mad rush for tickets on the eve of the opening night, when Burkina Faso also faces Gabon in a double-header at the same stadium.Fearing poor crowds — a problem at many African Cups — the government announced this week that ticket prices would be reduced to cater for the many poor. They will start at 500 Central African francs, or around $1, in the remote host towns of Mongomo and Ebebiyin. The cheapest tickets will be $2 for games in the bigger cities of Bata and Malabo, the capital. And for 40,000 supporters, their tickets to a game will be free, bought for them by the countrys president. Teodoro Obiang Nguema announced his gesture to the country on national television this week.Let those who have the means help the poor, Obiang said. Myself, I bought 40,000 tickets.A charm offensive, maybe. But for this curious country halfway up the west coast of Africa, where Spanish is spoken, oil is big business and the autocratic Obiang has been firmly in charge since he took over in a coup in 1979, the tournament could be a major boost for its image if it comes off.Still, it is a risk. There are already problems with the organization, including no running water and dangerous electric cables at one teams hotel, no rooms at all for another squad, and a training ground located in the middle of the rainforest and a two-hour drive from its base for a third, tournament favourite Algeria.Coach Claude Le Roy, whose Republic of Congo plays Equatorial Guinea in the opening game, has complained bitterly about the standard of his teams hotel. Le Roy declined to answer questions on the issue on Friday, telling reporters to go ask organizers the Confederation of African Football about the running of the tournament, which he has said should have been delayed to give Equatorial Guinea more time.As Le Roy spoke at Bata Stadium, the lights suddenly failed, temporarily plunging a media room into darkness. As they flickered weakly back on again, Le Roy started laughing.___Gerald Imray is on Twitter at www.twitter.com/GeraldImrayAP Jake Ryan Jersey .com) - Delon Wright made all 12 of his free throws and finished with 21 points and six assists as No. Jordy Nelson Jersey .com) - Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Edwin Encarnacion has been named the American League Player of the Week for the period ending May 11. http://www.officialpackersteamgears.com/randall-cobb-jersey/ .C. -- The Bobcats announced theyve signed centre Justin Hamilton to a 10-day contract.(SportsNetwork.com) - If you are a fan of foreshadowing, keep an eye on Lambeau Field this Sunday. The New England Patriots, perhaps the AFCs best team, will invade the frozen tundra to take on one of the NFCs top contenders, the Green Bay Packers, in a potential Super Bowl XLIX preview. The Pats have won seven games in a row, including a 34-9 victory over Detroit in Week 12, a triumph that clinched the organizations 14th consecutive winning season. New England is the first to accomplish that since San Francisco did so in 16 straight seasons from 1983-1998. During the Pats current seven-game run, quarterback Tom Brady has thrown 22 touchdowns and posted a 111.7 passer rating. Against the Lions, Brady threw two touchdown passes and carved up the NFLs then-top-ranked defense, completing 38-of-53 passes for 349 yards. LeGarrette Blount had two rushing scores in his first game back with the AFC- leading Patriots, who have won 14 straight against NFC North teams and 15 consecutive at home. I thought our guys did a good job, being ready to go, said Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Any time you keep a team out of the end zone like Detroit, thats good. We were able to put some points on the board, make plays in all three phases of the game. The Packers, however, are 5-0 at Lambeau this season, outscoring opponents 219-85 in those games and scoring at least 50 points in each of its past two homes games. Quarterback and leading MVP candidate Aaron Rodgers has thrown 322 consecutive passes and 29 touchdowns in a row without an interception in Green Bay; both NFL record streaks. The Pack wasnt quite as impressive on the road in Minneapolis last weekend but managed to outlast the upstart Vikings 24-21 behind Rodgers, who had two touchdown passes, and Eddie Lacy, who scored twice. This week was a little bit more of a grind-it-out thing, said Green Bay receiver Jordy Nelson. But we needed to see a game like this because if you want to win it all, you have to be able to win all sorts of games. Rodgers went 19-for-29 for 209 yards while Lacy finished the game with 25 carries for 125 yards and a touchdown, along with two catches for 13 yards and a score for the Packers, who have won three straight and now sit atop the NFC North by one-half game after the Lions drubbing of Chicago on Thanksgiving Day. He had a great game and made a lot of huge plays for us, Nelson said of Lacy. He got two touchdowns, and the way him and the O-line finished off the game for us was impressive. The Patriots own a 5-4 lead over the Packers in the all-time series between the two teams and have won two straight, including a 31-27 win the last time they met back on Dec. 19, 2010. New England actually whitewashed Green Bay 35-0 in its last trip to Lambeau behind four Brady TD passes but that was way back in 2006 when Rodgers was a backup. WHAT TO WATCH FOR These are the two top scoring teams in the NFL with the Pats pacing the 32- team league at 32.5 points per game and the Packers a tick behind at 32.2. This is likely the final leg of a four-game stretch against division-leading opponents for New England and so far Bill Belichicks bunch has passed the test with flying colors, winning the first three games by an average of over three TDs per game. The Patriots topped AFC West kingpin Denver 43-21 on Nov. 2 and AFC South stalwart Indianapolis 42-20 on Nov. 16 before disposing of Detroit in Week 12, a development that enabled Green Bay to vault over the Lions. Its not realistic for us to expect to continue to blow teams out like that, or, I dont want to say blow out, but win by a large margin, Belichick said. I cant really put my finger on what it is. I thinkk its a culmination of things and preparation. Ty Montgomery Jersey. After Sundays game, New England travels to San Diego, which could also be tied for the AFC West lead if things break correctly in Week 13. Since losing to Kansas City to fall to 2-2 on the season, New England has been scoring nearly 40 points per game (39.5 to be exact) and Brady has taken off, averaging 315.3 passing yards per game with the 22 touchdowns against just four interceptions. Perhaps the biggest contributor to that has been the health of All-World tight end Rob Gronkowski, who is feeling good after a myriad of injuries in recent seasons and has amassed 27 receptions and five touchdowns in his last four games. The Pats have also begun to mirror their former success with the two-tight end offense when Gronkowski teamed with Aaron Hernandez, before the latters personal life went off the rails. Tim Wright, who was acquired from Tampa Bay before the season, has six TDs on his 23 receptions. If there is one team that can keep up with the Patriots, though, its the Packers, especially at Lambeau. The key to Green Bay at home has been blitzing people out of the starting blocks. The Packers have outscored their opponents by an amazing 66-0 margin in the first quarter of their last four home contests. That number expands to 128-9 at halftime. Foes have been looking up and finding the score 14-0 in the first four or five minutes of a game and that has enabled a flawed Packers defense to excel as teams become more one-dimensional. Were playing Green Bay in Green Bay, Belichick said. Thats where theyve been very dominant, really, in terms of getting ahead and playing from ahead, first quarter. The numbers are staggering. Rodgers has thrown for 18 touchdowns without an interception at home this season. Overall, the All-Pro leads the NFL with a 119.3 passer rating and has thrown for 30 scores against just three INTs. I think Aarons a great quarterback, Belichick said. He does everything well, is very smart, does a great job with his team in situations and seeing things at the line of scrimmage, putting them in good plays and (a) very accurate passer, very good with his feet, hard to sack, hard guy to bring down, has real good awareness. I think pretty much everything with his game is excellent to outstanding. Rodgers favorite target, Nelson, averages over 120 yards receiving per game at Lambeau and has scored at least one TD in the teams five home games this year. Randall Cobb isnt bad either, snaring 20 balls with two TDs in his last three at home. Teams are going to take away what we do best, and what weve done best is get the ball to Jordy and Randall, Rodgers said. Theyve had big statistical seasons so (opponents) try to take them out of the game. Minnesota did that at home and New England is better equipped than most to do it because of star cornerback Darrelle Revis, perhaps the best man-to-man coverage corner in the game. Opponents often assume Belichick will just lock up Revis with their best receiver but the Pats coach is usually a step ahead and he could use Revis to lock up Cobb and then double Nelson. Either way thats where the powerful Lacy comes in. A bowling bowl of butcher knives, no one wants to tackle Lacy in the open field, especially when things gets cold. Hes a workhorse, said Rodgers. We need him in the winter months. OVERALL ANALYSIS Something has to give here because New England has won seven in a row overall and the Packers are a perfect 5-0 at Lambeau. The guess here is home field holds up with the Patriots being far more competitive them most visitors to Lambeau. SAN DIEGO -- The Padres have always valued Alexi Amaristas defensive versatility. [url=http://www.authenticbillsfanatic.com/c-63

SAN DIEGO -- The Padres have always valued Alexi Amaristas defensive versatility. Micah Hyde Jersey . This time, the diminutive shortstop flashed a big bat. Amarista had three hits, including a two-run homer, to lead San Diego to a 5-4 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night. Amaristas two-out homer in the sixth inning off A.J. Burnett (8-17) followed a walk to Jake Goebbert and put the Padres ahead 4-3. Amarista, who doubled in the second and singled in the fourth, fell a triple short of the cycle when he grounded out in the eighth. "It was a surprise about the home run," the 5-foot-6 Amarista said through a translator. "I had a lot of confidence in myself in that situation. I wasnt trying to hit the home run, but I got a good swing on it." Amarista, acquired by the Padres in a May 2012 trade with the Angels, has already equaled or surpassed his career highs in plate appearances, runs, hits, home runs and RBIs. And with San Diego shortstop Everth Cabrera having missed 53 games due to injuries, Amarista has filled in nicely for the former All-Star. "The last month, hes been as strong as any shortstop in the National League," San Diego manager Bud Black said. Burnett, who took his major league-leading 17th loss, was not happy with his outing. "Im not going to make excuses," he said. "I messed up. I walked a guy, and the curveball (to Amarista) wasnt down enough." San Diego won its second straight game after dropping nine of 11. Ian Kennedy (11-13) pitched six innings for the win. The right-hander allowed three runs and three hits with seven strikeouts and four walks. Kennedy had lost his previous two starts, giving up double-digit hits in both outings. Freddy Galvis hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give the Phillies a 3-2 lead. Dominic Brown had a solo homer in the second. Philadelphia, held to one hit by Andrew Cashner in a 1-0 loss Monday night, managed just five hits against Kennedy and three relievers. Kevin Quackenbush allowed an RBI single to pinch-hitter Darin Ruf in the ninth before closing out his fourth save. The Phillies have lost seven of 11. Burnett, who has gone 2-8 in his last 10 starts, gave up five runs -- four earned -- and eight hits in 5 2-3 innings. He struck out four to pass Phillies Hall of Famer Robin Roberts for 43rd place on the career list with 2,361. TRAINERS ROOM Phillies: SS Jimmy Rollins took infield practice but is still not expected back before the weekend. Rollins has been out since Sept. 8 because of a strained left hamstring. Padres: OF Seth Smith did not start due to a sore right hamstring, although he walked as a pinch hitter. Smith tweaked his hamstring while making the final out on Monday. The left-handed-hitting Smith isnt scheduled to start Wednesday night against Phillies lefty Cole Hamels. UP NEXT Phillies: Hamels (8-7, 2.51 ERA), a San Diego native, has had great success when facing his hometown team, with an 8-2 record and an ERA of 2.21 in 15 career starts. Padres: LHP Eric Stults (7-16, 4.49) will try to avoid tying Burnett for the major league lead with 17 losses. JUST SHORT AGAIN With Amarista missing the cycle, the Padres and Miami Marlins are the only teams in the majors that havent had a player accomplish the feat. It was the 358th time the Padres have had a player fall one hit short. ANOTHER LOSING SEASON The loss dropped Philadelphia to 69-82, ensuring the clubs second consecutive losing season with 11 games remaining. IT NEVER RAINS IN CALIFORNIA With a rare summer shower that moved through San Diego in the late afternoon, although it missed Petco Park, the Padres issued a thunder alert. Early-arriving fans were cautioned to take cover until the alert was lifted 45 minutes before the game. Nick OLeary Jersey . SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Two substitutes, two goals. Netherlands coach Louis van Gaal can, it seems, do no wrong at this World Cup. He sent on replacements Leroy Fer and Memphis Depay in the second half of the match against Chile on Monday and they scored both goals in a 2-0 win that confirmed the Dutch as Group B winners with a maximum nine points. "It is luck," Van Gaal himself said about his super substitutions. "Just luck." But it was more than that. Fer, listed by FIFA as 6 feet 2 inches (188 cm) tall, scored with a header a minute after coming on as a substitute for the 5-foot-6-inch (171 cm) Wesley Sneijder. "I know Leroy Fer is tall compared with our opponents. I know he can head the ball well," Van Gaal said. Then there was Depay. "We analyzed that Chile in the last 15 minutes gives away more room," Van Gaal said. "If you have a creative player in at that moment, you have the chance to use that space." Manchester United, which hired Van Gaal to restore its fortunes after a disastrous season by the clubs lofty standards, must be delighted even if it has to wait a bit longer for him to join them after the World Cup. Chile, one of the most attacking and attractive teams at the World Cup, had no answer at the Itaquerao Stadium, especially not without midfielder Arturo Vidal who watched from the bench. "I played the best team I had," said Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli. Juventus star Vidal had knee surgery before the tournament and had a sore Achilles tendon but said a day before the match he felt fit and ready to play. Both teams had already advanced to the second round, but Chiles first loss of the tournament consigned it to second place in Group B and a meeting with host Brazil in Belo Horizonte. The Dutch next travel to Fortaleza to play Group A runner-up Mexico in the round of 16 on June 29. Chile began with its trademark fast, attacking style while the Dutch, with a five-man defence, looked content to sit back, absorb the pressure and break out with swift counterattacks. "We gave nothing away and fought like lions," stannd-in captain Robben said. Cordy Glenn Jersey. "Orange lions." The match marked the first time at this World Cup the Netherlands had played in its national colour, but the change of jerseys didnt change its fortunes. Vidals absence deprived Chile of midfield creativity and it struggled to break down the well-drilled Dutch defence. Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez tried to fill the gap left by Vidal, but couldnt find a way through. He came closest to scoring in the second half with a powerful shot that Jasper Cillessen easily blocked at his near post. "Im very proud of this team," Robben said. "If you see how we fought here today. We were right on top of them and gave them no chances." The Netherlands was playing without suspended captain and striker Robin van Persie and was also missing defender Bruno Martins Indi, who suffered a concussion in the teams last match, a tough 3-2 victory over Australia in Porto Alegre. No problem for inspirational coach Van Gaal, who pulled a tactical surprise with his starting lineup -- reverting to the 5-3-2 formation he began with against Spain and posting veteran forward Dirk Kuyt, in his 99th international, at left back. "I enjoyed it," Kuyt said. "I never played in this position but the coach told me a couple of weeks ago that it could be a possibility during the tournament and I told him that I would be ready for it and I was very happy I get the chance. I think it went very well and hopefully I will get another chance." Then came Van Gaals substitutions. Fer headed in powerfully and Depay doubled his World Cup tally in stoppage time. Robben delayed his cross from the left cleverly until the PSV Eindhoven striker arrived at the far post -- also delaying his run by a split second to shrug off his marker -- to tap in an inch-perfect pass. "He is a huge talent and great for the future of Dutch football," Fer said of Depay. Robben said that after three wins out of three, the Dutch squad is hungry for more. "We can enjoy this fantastic performance, but it must not stop here," he said. MONTREAL -- FC Edmonton had its first Amway Canadian Championship final within its grasp. Jay Bouwmeester Jersey . But then it all slipped away. Edmonton was winning on aggregate after 90 minutes of play on Wednesday, even though the Montreal Impact were winning the match 3-2. But Patrice Bernier scored late in stoppage time on a penalty kick to give Montreal its second consecutive Amway Canadian Championship final berth. "Its sickening," said Frank Jonke, who scored the games two goals for Edmonton three minutes apart in the second half. "It leaves a sick feeling in everybodys stomach on our team. To lose, to not go through on that, is very sickening for us." Having lost the first leg of the home-and-home series 2-1 in Edmonton last week, the Impact needed a two-goal victory for a spot in the next round. Berniers goal five minutes into stoppage time, effectively the last kick of the game, gave Montreal the 5-4 victory on aggregate over the Eddies. In the dying minutes of added time, Montreals Heath Pearce fired a shot into a crowd of Edmonton defenders in the box. Referee Drew Fischer blew his whistle for handball, ran over to Edmontons Kareem Moses, and then pointed to the penalty spot. "I dont think it was a handball," said Jonke. "I dont think it was a penalty, and I think we should be going through." Edmonton coach Colin Miller also thought his team was robbed. "(Two Edmonton players) saw one of our players with his hands behind his back. And the ball hit him here," said Miller, pointing to his shoulder. "The referee then went to the wrong player to tell him it hit him." Miller was livid with Fischer after the game, and confronted the official as he was leaving the pitch. "Our players in the second half didnt deserve to get beaten in the manner that they did," said Miller. "I had a go at the referee after the game, and rightly so. The job that we do as coaches is hard enough without that decision being made." Impact president Joey Saputo then jumped onto the field and got into a screaming match with Miller. "I wished him a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!" quipped the Edmonton coach. "Im sure Mr. Saputo will buy me a Guinness afterwards." With the win, Montreal (1-0-1) will play either Toronto FC or the Vancouver Whitecaps in the two-leg final on May 28 and June 4. The winner will advance to the CONCACAF Champions League. The Impact went up 3-0 on Wednesday on two first-half goals by Jack McInerney and a 47th minute strike by Jeb Brovsky. Montreal was all but assured victory before Edmonton clawed back in the second half. Jonke scored his first goal in the 67th minute when his shot from just outside the six-yard box deflected off an Impact defender and beat goalie Evan Bush. The Edmonton striker added what would have been the series-clincher three minutes later from the penalty spot, firing right down the middle for his second of the game. The Eddies were awarded a penalty after Impact defender Karl Ouimette took down Neil Hlavaty in the box. Jonkes goals were the first conceded by the Impact at Saputo Stadium in four Canadian Championship matches dating back to 2012 when the team joined MLS. "The game should have been 5-0," said Impact coach Frank Klopas. "It should have been over. It was a lack of concentration. In five minutes, the game changed. We should have never been in this situation. We crumbled. Our mentality has to be stronger." If not for Berniers stoppage-time goal from the spot, the Eddies would have progressed to the next round. "Some guys took their foot off the gas pedal, and we let them right back into it," said McInerney. "We were fortunate to get a goal at the end. Its about time something goes our way this season." Last week in Edmonton, the Eddies scored a stoppage-time goal for the 2-1 victory. McInerney was the lone goal scorer for Montreal in that game, beating goalkeeper John Smits in the 56th minute. It only took 10 minutes for McInerney to score on the return leg at Saputo Stadium, firing home after a Justin Mapp cross missed Felipe in the box but fell right to the 21-year-old instead. "No disrespect to Edmonton, but theyre a lower-level team," said McInerney. "I would expect from myself to go out there and score every game against them." Mapp fed McInerney again seven minutes later, flicking the ball to the on-rushing striker with his heel at the edge of the 18-yard box. McInerney gave no chance to Smits, beating the Eddies keeper with a quick strike. As winners of last years Canadian Championship, the Impact made it to the CONCACAF Champions League for the second time in the continental tournaments six-year history, where they were eliminated in the group stage. Notes: Edmonton plays in the North American Soccer League, a league just below MLS. Mission, B.C., native Kim Gaucher led Canada (5-0) to its fifth straight victory at the FIBA Americas tournament with 14 points, 11 rebounds and three assists. Though shes pleased with the result, the veteran of Canadas womens program knows the win is just a step toward the teams ultimate goal. "We truly feel like were a team on the rise and were a force to be reckoned with in womens basketball. Canada opened up the contest with a late 12-0 run to lead 26-8 after the first 10 minutes of play. Puerto Rico outscored Canada 18-13 in the second quarter to cut into the lead, but the Canadians held a 39-26 advantage at halftime. "Us winning this game is almost a relief -- so much excitement -- but also a relief that we did qualify," Achonwa said. "To be able to get rid of the jitters of qualifying and now to play for the gold, it will be a great experience." Carla Cortijo was the top scorer for Puerto Rico with 22 points. Cuba, meanwhile, advanced to the final by upsetting Brazil 72-68 on Friday. Clenia Noblet scored 18 points for the Cuban squad while Leidys Oquendo added another 17. Lille, France (SportsNetwork. Bobby Jenks Jersey .com) - Roger Federer lost and Stan Wawrinka won, as visiting Switzerland and France are tied at 1-1 following the opening singles at the 2014 Davis Cup final. The Swiss drew first blood on Friday when Wawrinka handled Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in four sets, while the nightcap saw Gael Monfils douse the former world No. 1 Federer in straights, 6-1, 6-4, 6-3, on some slow red clay in Lille. The acrobatic former top-10 star Monfils played near flawless tennis in taking advantage of the 33-year-old Federer, who failed to demonstrate his typical on-court prowess, perhaps due to a much-publicized back injury. Already ahead by two sets, a determined Monfils got his fourth break of the match to grab a 3-2 lead in the third, and he would keep Federer down from there. Monfils broke Federer once again to close out the rubber, which he did on his first match point with an easy backhand winner. The uneventful affair was over in 1 hour, 46 minutes, as Monfils notched one of the biggest wins of his career by popping 10 aces and tallying five breaks, while a stunned Federer failed to break his French counterpart on Day 1. Monfils struck 19 more winners than Federer (44-25), while the Swiss legend uncorked 11 more unforced errors (29-1. The 19th-ranked Monfils is now 10-2 in his career Davis Cup singles, while Federer fell to 37-8. The world No. 2 Federer is now 8-3 lifetime against Monfils, who pushed the Swiss icon mightily in their last meeting in the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open, where Federer had to save two match points before coming back to win in a five-set thriller. In the opener in Lille on Friday, the world No. 4 Australian Open champion Wawrinka bludgeoned the tennis ball in outgunning the former Aussie runner-up Tsonga on the Frenchmans home soil, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Wawrinka was spot on with a sensational one-handed backhand and prevailed in 2 hours, 24 minutes by breaking Tsongas serve five times. Tsonga had to settle for only one break in the setback. The 29-year-old Wawrinka is now 3-3 lifetime against the 12th-ranked Tsonga, including wins in their last two meetings. The Swiss slugger also topped Tsonga on some clay in Madrid last year. Wawrinka improved to 21-13 lifetime in his career Davis Cup singles, while Tsonga fell to 16-5. Saturdays doubles match has a French tandem of Richard Gasquet and Julien Benneteau facing a Swiss duo of Marco Chiudinelli and Michael Lammer, but expect Federer and Wawrinka to team up for that one if the great Federer is fit enough to play. The Wimbledon runner-up pulled out of last weeks championship match at the ATP World Tour Finals in London because of his back, a problem that slowed the Swiss legend mightily in 2013. Sundays reverse singles will pit the 17-time Grand Slam king Federer against Tsonga and Wawrinka versus Monfils. The best-of-five tie is being staged on an indoor clay court at Stade Pierre Mauroy in front of a capacity crowd of more than 27,000, which sets a new record for an officially-sanctioned tennis match, overtaking the Spain- United States Davis Cup final at the Estadio Olympico de Sevilla in 2004. Switzerland is captained by Severin Luthi, while France is guided by former Aussie runner-up Arnaud Clement. The French are 10-2 all-time versus the Swiss in Davis Cup play. The two nations last met in a 2004 quarterfinal that was won by France. The nine-time champion French are seeking their first Davis Cup title in 13 years, while Switzerland and the iconic Federer have never hoisted the coveted 114-year-old chalice. The Swiss finished as runners-up in 1992. Harold Baines Jersey . In the few weeks since his breakup with girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki, only some of it has been worth much. Gary Player told him to lay low. Jack Nicklaus told him not to be afraid to change the way he plays, even in the middle of a round. Smartly, he only followed up with one of them. "Do you just ring him up," a reporter asked about McIlroys budding relationship with Nicklaus, "and say, Im popping in?" "I dont ring him up," McIlroy chuckled, "I ring his secretary up and say, Id like to schedule a meeting, please. But its been great to spend some time with him. I feel like Ive got a really good rapport." The two had lunch in Florida a week after the Memorial, the PGA Tour stop where Nicklaus plays the gracious host but isnt shy about asking tough questions. Not about relationships, mind you, unless you count questions about where to slot the club at the top of the backswing. "He said to me, he goes, How the hell can you shoot 63 (in the first round) and then 78 (in the second)?" McIlroy recalled. "I said, I wasnt meaning to, Jack. Im trying not to." That began a conversation between the two on the subject of trust. Nicklaus told him the moment he sensed his swing was sliding off the rails in that second round, he would have made a change "right then and there." "The mental strength to be able to do that," McIlroy paused, still marveling at the idea. "Hopefully," he added a moment later, "some of those little nuggets of wisdom that he passed on to me might help this week." Success came so fast for the 25-year-old Northern Irishman it was easy to assume hed mastered most of golfs lessons. But it took an old soul like Nicklaus to point out where some of the big gaps remained. When McIlroy wins, he usually wins big, running away from the field the way he did at the 2011 U.S. Open at Congressional. What he has yyet to prove is whether he has the patience and toughness to grind out victories, a trait that served Nicklaus and Tiger Woods well over decades. Chicago White Sox Jerseys. If nothing else, the back-and-forth with Nicklaus has put the idea in his head. "Its going to be a test of patience," McIlroy said about Pinehurst No. 2. "And I think I am better equipped than I was a few years ago. The U.S. Open I won was a very ... was abnormal. It was wet. It was low scoring. I havent won a tournament whenever its been like this. Thats why Im relishing the challenge. "Its conditions that I havent won in before and Id love to be able to prove to myself, but also prove to other people that I can win in different conditions. Its a great opportunity to do that this week." While Nicklaus will be McIlroys model this week, he hasnt ignored Players advice altogether. In the wake of his very public breakup with Wozniacki, he has lowered his social media profile and already won once. He concedes that balancing his public life he has with the private one he wants is an act hes still working on. "Its nice when you get out on the golf course because youve got five hours of youre just out there with your clubs, with your caddie, trying to shoot the best score possible," McIlroy said. "Thats the approach that Im sort of adopting from now until whenever." The conversation with Nicklaus appears to be taking hold. Much harder to learn will be the desire that catapulted Nicklaus to 18 major victories — the stubborn pride that made him back off a 4-footer on the last hole of a tournament he wasnt going to win even in the final years of his career, because it mattered to him to shoot 77 instead of 78. "Golf has sort of been a nice release for me the past few weeks. I just want to try to keep focused on that," McIlroy said. ___ Jim Litke is a national sports columnist for The Associated Press. Call it a perfect time for a trip to Milwaukee. Lopez scored 32 points, Joe Johnson had 15 and the Nets beat the lowly Bucks 90-82 on Saturday night. Lopez dominated inside, making 11 of 13 shots from the field. He also had seven rebounds and four assists as Brooklyn bounced back from Thursday nights 113-83 home loss to New York. The Nets had dropped four of five overall. "When you have a player like Brook or Joe, who can also command double teams, youre going to have some shots around the arc that we made tonight," Nets coach Jason Kidd said. "So, everybody pitched in." Alan Anderson added 13 points for Brooklyn, which shot 46 per cent from the field and enjoyed a 41-36 rebounding edge. O.J. Mayo led the Bucks with 22 points and John Henson added 18 points and seven rebounds. Milwaukee has the worst record in the Eastern Conference at 4-16. "We had no answer for Lopez. His size down low was too much for us," Bucks coach Larry Drew said. "We couldnt play him one on one. We tried different things, but he got the ball out to their shooters. We tried everything." Lopez had 20 points in the first half on near-perfect shooting. He also was a defensive presence in the low post. "I just tried to take my time in the post and really read what they were doing," Lopez said. "Just play off that." Milwaukee tried to double team Lopez, put big bodies on him, but nothing worked. He either sank the shot or madee the free throw. Atlanta Hawks Jerseys. "Thats Brook. Thats who he is," Kidd said. "Hes a guy who demands attention. Again, hes seen a lot of double teams in his young career. Hes making all the right plays. Hes letting guys get to their spots. Guys are knocking down shots." Brandon Knights two free throws with 3:54 remaining cut Brooklyns lead to 82-75. But Garnett rebounded Johnsons missed 3-pointer at the other end and scored to restore the Nets nine-point advantage. The Bucks closed to 84-78 with 2:38 left on Khris Middletons two foul shots. Lopez then got free under the basket and Johnson found him for an easy dunk, and Garnett hit a 19-foot jumper with 1:42 remaining. An interconnected network of smart devices and IT systems where electricity and information can flow freely is called a ‘Smart Grid.’ This interconnected network makes the electric grid more reliable. Substantial security risks are incurred when these systems are connected to a wider network. We can list three main security concerns:

1. Ability to confirm authenticity of the other party and communicate only with genuine parties.
2. Integrity of the data flowing through the Smart grid network.
3. Ability to withstand sustained attacks Authentic Bradley Beal Jersey , and quickly recover from such attacks.

As corporate systems are already exposed to external networks and are supposedly protected from risks, the issue with Smart Grid security can certainly be downplayed. We can also use those methods to secure Smart Grid. We can detail the key differences between corporate IT systems and Smart Grid systems as follows:

• Smart Grid systems are considered as vital national infrastructure and need to be more robust to ensure energy security.
• Power system operation must continue in the event of an attack and should recover quickly from any damage.
• The complexity of the modern Smart Grid system exposes it to risks and threats.
• Millions of devices and systems connected to each other in the Grid offer multiple entry points for potential attackers.
• Any breach of data security will offer analysis and malicious usage of the humongous amount of data collected, transmitted and stored.
• Many connections on Smart Grid will have longer durations; sometimes permanent, which increases the risk.
• Many end points in Smart Grid will have very limited processing power and storage Authentic Bojan Bogdanovic Jersey , making it unfeasible to use certificates and sophisticated encryption algorithms.
• Many links in the Smart Grid network will have low communication bandwidth that will limit the security measures taken.
• Unlike corporate IT systems, you may not be able to quickly apply patches when new vulnerabilities are discovered.

It will be challenging to test the Smart Grid as the normal operation ideally should not have an impact during security testing. The impact of security breach will vary based on the system breached. Some feasible scenarios:

• The attacker gains access to millions of smart meters and then shuts them down remotely using a remote disconnect feature in modern smart meters. In a worst case scenario, the built in configuration is changed; so meters stop communicating with the central server altogether. The only option would be to reload the firmware in millions of those meters.
• The attacker can disrupt the load balance of the local system by suddenly decreasing or increasing the demand for power.
• A generator can be manipulated to self-destruct using computer and communication systems connected to that generator. The Stuxnet kind of computer worm can overtake the power plant’s industrial control systems by infecting SCADA software and can destabilize the closed loop feedback control and self-destruct the plant.
• The lead time required to replace a damaged transformer and its critical role in the grid would make this a serious threat.
• Smart Grid technologies will offer Home Energy management solution to the end consumers where they will have control over the use of energy. This is possible because future smart appliances for homes are connected to the Home energy gateway or a Smart Meter, which can be used to set usage configurations based on options like Time of Use (TOU) Wes Unseld Jersey , real time tariff, Time of the Day, etc. This results in significant savings of energy and cost. This increases vulnerability at the consumer’s end. Such breach can impact both privacy and availability for them. Researchers have demonstrated that you can glean insights into a typical day at home by looking at the energy consumption. Based on energy signature, you can find out which appliance was used when Trey Burke Jersey , or if the house is occupied at the moment. The attacker may even send wrong energy usage data to the MDMS system causing monetary losses for consumers and potential disputes with utility.
• Even law enforcing agencies routinely use energy data for consumer protection and civil liberty groups are concerned about loss of privacy.

We may never be able to completely secure the Smart Grid from all threats as proven by news articles on future attacks on the US Smart Grid. Is quick detection followed by quick recovery and response the only strategy available to protect our energy supply?
