Hobart, Australia (SportsNetwork. Michael Strahan Jersey .com) - Brit Heather Watson topped American qualifier Madison Brengle, 6-3, 6-4, in the final of the Hobart International tennis event. The Australian Open tuneup provided the 22-year-old Watson her second career championship in as many final appearances. She also captured a title in Osaka in 2012. The 24-year-old Delaware native Brengle was in her first-ever WTA final. Watson beat Brengle in their only other previous WTA meeting in Quebec City in 2010. After both men had disastrous outings in Tuesdays 18-4 mauling at the hands of the Tigers, its clear that neither is the best option to begin the season in Toronto. http://www.authenticnygiantspro.com/Doug-kotar-giants-jersey/ . -- Los Angeles Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw was placed on the 15-day disabled list Saturday for the first time in his seven-year career because of a swollen muscle in his left upper back.As Carl Robinson met the media in Vancouver on Monday, there were plenty of questions to answer about the future. With the Whitecaps controversial playoff loss in Dallas now in the rear-view mirror, attention is already turning to what the Caps squad will look like next season. After setting a new single season points record, qualifying for the Champions League and successfully defending the Cascadia Cup, there is plenty for Robinson to be pleased about. He has had an excellent first season as a head coach and has laid a strong foundation for future success, but there are some big decisions facing the Whitecaps coach in the next few weeks to ensure the club has the best possible chance of building upon an impressive 2014. Here are five key jobs on Carl Robinsons To Do list: 1. Find a striker (or two) Since the departures of Camilo and Kenny Miller, the Whitecaps have been missing a natural goalscorer. They will likely add a Designated Player striker this winter, and it would be a surprise if the player doesnt come from South or Central America. Robinson will do some travelling in the next few weeks as he narrows down his search as he looks for the ideal signing to complement the pieces he already has within the squad. It’s likely Robinson will not only try to sign a DP, but also bring in another frontman as well, either as a permanent signing or maybe securing the loan of a younger player. “I will turn over every rock,” said Robinson. “I know what is around in MLS, but teams don’t want to give their good players away. We will look abroad, as well, whether it is a European player or a South–Central American player, I will certainly be doing a lot of travelling in the offseason.” 2. Bring back Laba There isn’t much doubt about this one. Matias Laba won the Whitecaps “Unsung Hero” award and was outstanding throughout the year. The young Argentine has quickly developed into one of the top two or three defensive midfielders in Major League Soccer and will be returning to Vancouver next season. After joining from Toronto FC in March, the Whitecaps now have the option to pay a pre-agreed sum to their Canadian rivals in order to keep Laba’s services long-term. Carl Robinson says there isn’t an issue and that Laba will be staying with the club, but ‘Caps fans will still breathe a huge sigh of relief when the ink is dry on the paperwork. “There is a fee agreed for us to take Mati and we will be doing that because Mati has been fantastic for us and is a big part of this club moving forward. That fee will be settled between the two ownership groups,” explained the Whitecaps coach. 3. Mattocks and Salgado As Robinson looks to strengthen his squad and bring in “a few fresh faces next season,” there will likely be departures, either through trades or the Expansion Draft. Two players who seem unlikely to have a future with the club long term are young strikers Darren Mattocks and Omar Salgado. Mattocks is a valuable asset within MLS, despite his lack of consistency in front of goal, and if the Whhitecaps are to sign one or two starting forwards, it is possible they could get value within the league for Mattocks to strengthen the team in other areas. Dexter Lawrence Womens Jersey. Salgado finished the year on trial with Tigres in Mexico after a season where there was more talk about his temperament than his footballing ability. It seems best for both parties if there is a parting of the ways before next year. “We will sit down with him and discuss the best way to move forward,” said Robinson. “I don’t want him to get frustrated. If he feels it is right and we feel it is right for us to part ways, we will. I want to help him personally because he has been injured for a number of years and he wants to play. The one thing I will never do is stop players going to play football somewhere.” 4. Defensive decisions The Whitecaps found their number one starting central defender with the signing of Costa Rican giant Kendall Waston this summer. Now Robinson must decide which other central defenders he wants to have in his squad next year. In an ideal scenario, the ‘Caps will be able to sign another central defender to start alongside Waston and also re-sign veteran Andy O’Brien who had a very good end to the season. O’Brien played more minutes than any other Whitecaps central defender but if he stays with the club, he may have a reduced role moving forward. With the club also set to be in the Champions League, having an experienced player like O’Brien on board would be important. “Andy has been fantastic this year and has got stronger as the season has gone on,” said Robinson. “I would like to try and keep Andy at the club in some capacity, if I can, because I think he is a very good leader. Because we are in a salary cap league, it depends on the financial side of it, as well.” O’Brien has loved his time in Vancouver so far and wants to stay. The former Ireland international says he’s not against taking a pay cut in order to extend his career. “The objective would be to play as many games as possible – I view it as a challenge, he said. It’s not all about money, it’s about being wanted. I’ve been very blessed to have the career that I’ve had and at this stage of my career it’s about being made to feel welcome.” 5. Magnificent Mauro Mauro Rosales was superb, both on and off the pitch, following his move from Chivas USA and the Whitecaps would love to find a way to keep him for 2015. Rosales would need to agree to take a cut in salary, but there is also a possibility the club could sweeten a deal by allowing him to also start a transition to the coaching ranks. Rosales wouldn’t play every match next season, but having his presence within the squad and his undoubted teaching abilities would be a big bonus within a young squad. “He has been excellent since the trade and, in the last game, in my view, he was the best player on the park. He’s got a lot to bring to the table, but, obviously, it is a financial decision, as well. I will be doing everything I can to try and keep Mauro at the club.” Cheap Jerseys China NFL Jerseys Cheap NBA Jerseys Wholesale NHL Jerseys Wholesale MLB Jerseys Cheap Soccer Jerseys China Wholesale NCAA Jerseys Wholesale Football Jerseys Wholesale Basketball Jerseys Wholesale Baseball Jerseys ' ' '

Alfredo Simon lowered his ERA to 0.86, and the Reds beat the Chicago Cubs 4-1 Friday for their 16th win in their last 17 games at the Friendly Confines.WINNIPEG -- The B.C. Lions clinched a spot in the CFL playoffs on Saturday night with a 28-23 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers -- but the win may have come at a cost. The Lions (9-7) lost starting quarterback Kevin Glenn to a big hit from Bombers Johnny Sears. He didnt return but backup John Beck took over, didnt miss a beat, and threw the 12-yard go-ahead touchdown pass to Ernest Jackson on his first play. He then pounded the nail in with a 55-yard touchdown pass to former Bomber Kito Poblah. Paris Cottons two-yard touchdown run with just over two minutes left in the game brought the Bombers (6-11) within five but they missed a two-point convert attempt. Winnipeg has now dropped eight straight games and will miss the post-season. The Bombers also got a touchdown from Clarence Denmark and three field goals plus a single from rookie kicker Liram Harullahu. B.C.s other touchdown came from Keola Antolin and Paul McCallum added two field goals and a single. Cotton had 96 yards in the first half alone in his third game since replacing Nic Grigsby as Winnipegs starting tailback. It was also a night of milestones as veteran B.C. kicker McCallum became just the second CFL player to top the 33,000-point mark. Custom Baltimore Ravens Jerseys. Denmark also topped 1,000 yards receiving for the first time in his career and scored Winnipegs first touchdown on a 19-yard pass from Drew Willy. At least nine sacks killed Winnipeg drives but B.C. did the same thing with penalties -- starting with the first play of the game. They took 11 penalties for 90 yards in the first half alone compared to just two and 15 for the Bombers. Their most costly was taken on a 91-yard kick return for a go-ahead touchdown in the third quarter that was called back for holding and an illegal block. A highlight reel interception by Sears that led to a Winnipeg touchdown at the end of the third quarter was also called back. Sears tossed the ball into the air as he was being tackled, where it was caught by defensive back Maurice Leggett, who ran more than 50 yards for what was marked as a touchdown until it was reviewed. NOTES: The Bombers lost defensive lineman Greg Peach in the second half to injury and defensive back Don Unamba also had to leave the field but he returned. The Bombers benefited from the return from injury of Troy Stoudermire. Their kick returner had 72 yards in the first half, including one run of 35. Lowry, Torontos fallback option after a failed attempt to woo Steve Nash, was brought in from Houston to battle incumbent point guard Jose Calderon for the starting gig. Then general manager Bryan Colangelo had high hopes for Lowry but at that moment, a consolidated news conference in the concourse of the Air Canada Centre, he was just another player. He was due to earn $5.8 million that season. For Lowry those days are long gone. Thursday morning represented the Raptors first opportunity to make sure he knew that. With the official announcement of Patrick Patterson and Greivis Vasquezs extensions on hold, likely until early next week, this day was all about Lowry. It was his moment, well deserved, not unlike his freshly signed contract and significant pay raise. This is awesome, Lowry said, borrowing the phrase from GM Masai Ujiri, who had used it moments earlier. Ujiri and his star point guard sat side by side on stage in Real Sports Bar and Grill, located across from the ACC in the heart of downtown Toronto. This was not your run-of-the-mill press conference. It was an event. The Raptors had opened up the festivities to their fans, who played hooky from school and work on a Thursday morning to support a player they have adopted as their own. They screamed, they chanted, they took photos and Lowry - an introvert, who doesnt generally hand out smiles - couldnt wipe the smirk off his face. Retaining Lowry had been the Raptors top priority from the moment last seasons playoff run came to an abrupt end. They spared no expense in showing the 28-year-old how much he means to the embattled franchise and they wasted no time in getting him locked up. Lowry agreed to terms on a four-year, $48 million deal last Wednesday, officially putting pen to paper Thursday morning when the free agent moratorium period was lifted. Lowry was courted by a number of teams - including title contenders in the Houston Rockets and Miami Heat - when free agency unofficially opened on July 1. They were real factors, Lowry admitted. Returning to Toronto, however likely, was not a lock. Along with his family and agent, Andy Miller, he considered his options, weighing pros and cons and doing his due diligence before coming to a quick decision. It didnt take long for him to realize where he wanted to spend the next three years, with a player option for the fourth. I think the process was a difficult one but at the end of the day it was an easy one, it was the best one, Lowry said. I didnt really think about it, honestly, until a week before free agency started. I knew it was going to be kind of stressful, but stressful in a good way. At the end of the day it was easy, it was easy to come back here. I didnt want to wait for everybody else, he continued, taking a subtle shot at a few of his fellow free agents, who appear to be in no rush despite holding up the process for the rest of the league. Im not going to wait for this guy to make a decision, I wanted to make my own decision and I wanted to make it when I was ready and I was ready after day one. So thats how easy the process was. Houston and Miami offered him a chance to compete for a championship right out of the gate but Toronto countered with their recently constructed winning environment, high aspirations, and an opportunity for incremental growth on the way to their ultimate prize. Most importantly, Lowry - an alpha dog by nature - wanted to lead a team to the promise land. Make no bones about it, the Raptors are Lowrys team. The driving factor was winning, he said. Honestly, I knew the money was going to come. I knew the years [were] going to come, so that wasnt too much of a worry. I just wanted to be in a situation where I can win and personally grow, as a man and as a player, and help a team and help an organization get to the point where theyre holding that trophy up. With the spotlight comes the pay cheque. I was [financially secure] before, he joked in response to a question about his new pay raise. [But] this helps. His new contract will be more than twice the size of his previous one, a four-year, $23.5 million deal signed in 2010, having earned a total of $28.8 million over the first eight years of his career. Lowrys one-time reputation for being a malcontent, like his anonymity, is a thing of the past. Of course, hes not the only one that stands to benefit, shedding a less than flattering league-wide perception as a result of this remarriage with the Raptors. Everyone says Toronto cant do this, or Toronto cant sign back their own free agents, Lowry acknowledged, with a tip of the cap to the franchises disappointing history. I just proved that wrong. Im back. Before the Raptors can establish themselves as a preferred destination for the NBAs brightest stars, they know they must take care of their own. Even in a years time - as the team has turned its fortunes and its fan base has reminded the league why theyre one of the best - Ujiri continues to notice a significant change in how the city is perceived when speaking to players around the association. 100 percent, said the Raptors GM. I think people saw what happened here. Players want to win and players want to be treated well and we try to treat players well, Ujiri continued. I think Kyle Lowry was at the forefront of that. Players in the NBA see that and they want to come play where its a great atmosphere, theyre treated well and theres a culture of winning. We expect more players to come here. According to Ujiri, Lowry was ready and willing to do his part in the recruitment process almost immediately after agreeing to terms last week. Still technically a free agent, Lowry texted the Raptors GM shortly after the two reached a verbal agreement to ask him if there was a player he could call and try to steer in Torontos direction. I wish I had more money to sign another player, Ujiri joked. While all-star and leading scorer DeMar DeRozan remains an integral part of the teams future - and played a significant role in Lowrys decision to return - the unmistakable face of the resurgent Raptors was sitting centre stage. The team is his and, evident in Thursdays mornings turnout, so too is the city. He wont be sharing the stage, or the spotlight any time soon. Two years ago, almost to the day, Colangelo gave Lowry the keys. Now, Ujiri has given him the whole car. You dont get many chances to say its your team, he said. Honestly, you dont get many chances. As a competitor, as aa professional, I relish in that, the fact that I get to say its my team, Im the leader of the team. Bruce Smith Jersey. As a competitor, as a professional, I relish in that, the fact that I get to say its my team, Im the leader of the team. BALTIMORE -- The Drew Hutchison Road Show enjoyed another successful stop, this time at Camden Yards in front of an unappreciative sellout crowd. Steve McNair Titans Jersey . Hutchison scattered six hits over seven innings in another sparkling outing on the road, and the Toronto Blue Jays got a two-run homer from Juan Francisco in a 4-0 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Friday night. Hutchison (5-4) struck out three, walked none and permitted only one runner past second base. The right-hander is 1-3 with an 8.72 ERA at home and 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA on the road. "Its just worked out that way so far. Its kind of one of those things," Hutchison said of his imbalanced record. "I havent had many starts at home, so that might be part of it. But the rest of that, I could really care less as long as were going out there and giving the team a chance to win." Especially against the Orioles. Hutchison is 2-0 with a 1.16 ERA in five career starts against Baltimore. "Hes pretty good against some other people," Orioles manager Buck Showalter noted. Hutchison outpitched Ubaldo Jimenez (2-, who allowed two runs and three hits in six innings but fell to 0-6 at home. "I was able to hang in for the team," Jimenez said. "I was able to at least get a quality start." The difference was Franciscos 11th home run, a second-inning drive into the Baltimore bullpen following a walk to Brett Lawrie. After Hutchison retired three straight batters in the seventh following a leadoff double by J.J. Hardy, a thunderstorm stopped play for 21 minutes. When play resumed, Toronto scored twice in the eighth off Tommy Hunter on a wild pitch and an RBI single by Jose Bautista. Blue Jays reliever Brett Cecil left with a groin injury in the eighth inning. He was replaced by Dustin McGowan, who got five outs for his first major league save. "Just right now it just feels kind of tight," Cecil said. The victory snapped a three-game skid for the AL East-leading Blue Jays, who had lost five of six while being outscored 29-9. "I felt like it was the toughest game to win all year, if you want to know the truth," Toronto manager John Gibbons said. "We didnt get many hits. We got the big home run, and of course we scratched out a couple late." Jimenez was seeking his first win at Camden Yards since signing a $50 million, four-year contract during the off-season. He walked five but, after Francisco homered, the right-hander did not give up another hit until Adam Lind singled off the right-field wall with two outs in the sixth. "Thats something that I need to still work on it," Jimenez said, referring to his walk total. "But I was good. I was OK." Orioles starters have allowed two runs or fewer in 12 of the last 15 games. Manny Machado had three hits for Baltimore, but the Orioles stranded nine and went 1 for 11 with runners in scoring position. The Blue Jays put runners on the corners with no outs in the first inning before Jimenez worked out of trouble. In the second, however, Francisco delivered Torontos major league leading 92nd home run. That ended the Jays run of four straight games without a homer and snapped Baltimores streak of 43 innings without allowing a long ball. It also marked the first time in nine games that Toronto scored first. After Baltimore loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth, Jonathan Schoop hit a fly to the warning track in centre field. "I thought I made a lot of really good pitches in that inning," Hutchison said. "They just happened to place a couple in a couple really good spots, and I was able to bear down and make a pitch to get out of it." Beginning with that out, Hutchison retired 10 of the final 11 batters he faced. NOTES: Baltimores fourth sellout of the season drew an announced crowd of 44,031. ... Orioles C Matt Wieters will have his ailing elbow examined by Dr. James Andrews on Monday, and season-ending surgery is a distinct possibility. "I hope we get some good news Monday, but we better prepare if its not," manager Buck Showalter said. Wieters has not played since May 10. ... Bud Norris (3-1, 2.38 ERA at home) starts for the Orioles on Saturday against Toronto and right-hander R.A. Dickey. ... Showalter said Machados suspension will not start this weekend, and it will likely go to the appeal process. Machado is challenging a five-game suspension for intentionally throwing his bat on the field. Eddie George Jersey . So could they meet at a 175-pound catchweight, without Dwyers BFL title on the line?I thought that was kind of weird, being so far out from the fight, that he couldnt make the extra five pounds but whatever, Dwyer recalled thinking. The week of the fight, Dwyers manager was told Johnson wouldnt be able to make 175 and would pay a penalty for every pound over. Come weigh-in day, Dwyer tipped the scales at 173.9 and Johnson was around 185. He looked pretty drained too so he cut weight to make where he was at, said Dwyer.Dwyer (7-1) was still willing. But the local athletic commission, wary of the weight discrepancy, said it wouldnt allow the fight until he weighed 180.Rather than hit the fridge, he improvised.I threw my jeans on, stuffed my pockets full of cellphones and car keys, just to get the weigh-in over, he said with a laugh. I made the weight. The lanky Dwyer, who usually walks around at 195 pounds, was a little over 180 after rehydrating. Johnson was even bigger and packed a punch, but the fight turned after he was cut by an elbow. It must have hit like a vein or an artery or something because it was leaking pretty good, said Dwyer, a little fuzzy on his physiology.Dwyer kept going, took him down and eventually stopped him. A bit of a brawler. He likes to throw punches as hard as he can.Dwyer will have a five-inch height advantage on the 22-year-old Einstein, as well as a 3.5-inch edge in reach.Dwyer will become the third fighter from David Leas Toshido MMA in Kelowna to make the UFC, joining Sarah Moras and Rory (Ares) MacDonald. They definitely helped pave the road for me to get here, Dwyer said. They put Kelowna on the map. Its definitely easier to get in when the UFC already know about our gym.MacDonald, who now trains in Montreal, takes on American-based Belgian Tarec (Sponge) Saffiedine in Saturdays main event.Dwyer was supposed to fight Alex Garcia at UFC 176 on Aug. 2 in Los Angeles but the card was cancelled after featherweight champion Jose Aldo pulled out through injury. To help pay for his training, Dwyer headed north to make some money working on the oil rigs.Born in New Westminster, B.C., Dwyer has lived in Kelowna since he was two. He was 17 when he started training in 2007 thanks to his high school rugby coach and vice-principal Mark Steen, who started an MMA program. It was a natural for Dwyer, an avid MMA fan.I pretty much knew how to do an armbar before I was ever in a jiu-jitsu class. TORONTO - According to Masai Ujiris wish list, the Toronto Raptors draft picks will be tough, eager to play defence, able to blend in well with coach Dwane Caseys playing style, and one of them will be a shot blocker. Air Max 2 Uptempo Ireland . The Raptors general manager has his list of possible draft selections whittled down to a handful ahead of Thursday nights NBA draft in Brooklyn, New York. The Raptors, who have auditioned dozens of players over the past couple of weeks, have the 20th overall pick in the first round, as well as the 37th and 58th picks in the second. "I think probably by (Tuesday), it will be narrowed down to probably five guys (for the No. 20 spot), and that doesnt include guys that could fall," Ujiri said. "And about 600 at 37," he added laughing. Ujiri said part of his pre-draft research is figuring out players who are capable of giving Casey what he wants. "Were an aggressive team, were going to play tough, play hard on the defensive end and stop people, and we are going to play up-tempo on the offensive end," Ujiri said. "We have to bring in those kinds of players, we cant just draft anybody to come here and throw to Dwane Casey, that wouldnt be fair." He and his staff will go for the best player on the board rather than draft specifically for position, although he said hed be happy if a shot blocker happened to be available at one of their three picks. Ujiri, who was still with the Denver Nuggets during last years draft, hasnt entirely ruled out moving up to a higher pick. "(But) I dont do heartbreaks very well," he said. "Those trades and talks, people dont understand, we talk about a hundred trades and maybe two happen. Thats just the nature of our business. "Well be aggressive, but our energy is focused on 20 rather than wasting our time on whats not. If theres anything, I always feel like those kinds of things almost come to you rather than you chase them. If we smell anything anywhere, well be aggressive, but 20 is what were counting on." Toronto didnt have a pick in last years draft. They selected Terrence Ross with their No. 8 pick in 2012. They selected Kareem Rush at No. 20 in 2002 and traded him to the Los Angeles Lakers. The previous year, they took Morris Peterson at No. 21. Ujiri said its been a gruelling few weeks of pouring over the specifics of this years draft class. "We do a lot of mechanics, pictures, analytics, background checks, psych tests and all that stuff. When they come for workouts, there are so many things you look at, foot speed, how tall they are, their demeanours, so many things," he said. "Its a huge process for us and just builds and builds and builds. "Now hopefully by Wednesday morning we will have gathered all the information we have. And then mess it up with a trade or something," he added, laughing. The difficult part is judging a players potential — "we have to figure out where the player is now and what he will be in a couple of years from now or four years from now." Point guard Kyle Lowry led the Raptors to their first post-season appearance in six seasons, where they were eliminated by the Brooklyn Nets in the first round. Lowry becomes a free agent on July 1, but Ujiri said his status wont be a factor in how the Raptors select in the draft. "We are going full force after Kyle Lowry, and if theres a talented point guard in the draft. . . well go for talent in the draft. But Kyle Lowry is our target," he said. Several Canadians have been among the players whove worked out for the Raptors at the Air Canada Centre, including point guard Tyler Ennis, forwards Melvin Ejim and Khem Birch and seven-foot-two centre Jordan Bachynski. There could be as many as five to eight Canadians taken in the draft, led by Andrew Wiggins, the Vaughan, Ont., star whos expected to go No. 1 or 2. Ujiri pointed out that plenty can happen between now and Thursday night. Three days before the NBA draft, there have already been a couple of surprises. Highly-touted prospect Joel Embiid had surgery last week on the stress fracture on his foot. Draft prospect Isaiah Austin has been diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a career-ending condition. "I walked into (the office) today and was like Please, no news thats going to throw me off right now. Because it will keep coming, there will be something tonight, tomorrow morning, there will be something, thats just the nature of the draft," Ujiri said. "You love it, thats why we do it, theres always action." Air Max 90 Womens Ireland . Nike Air Max Thea Ireland . Hawkins severely sprained his left ankle while making a diving catch during training camp and went on injured reserve with a designation he could return midway through the season. He was back at practice Wednesday. http://www.irelandcheapairmax.com/ . On Friday night, after a long rain delay, he was scratched from his scheduled start.LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Tiger Woods surveyed his options from so far left of the fairway he was up to his ankles in grass in a hazard he didnt even know was there. He could take it over the trees and go sideways, but it might be tough to keep it in the fairway. "What about left gallery?" Woods asked his caddie. "Thats actually not bad," Joe LaCava replied. He wasnt trying to hit anyone -- that was just a good sight line. And it gave him the best angle to the green. But it spoke to the state of his game Thursday in the opening round of the PGA Championship. He was so wild at times that his best option was to aim at the crowd. Woods made only one birdie at Valhalla -- a chip-in from a collection area left of the 15th green -- on his way to a 3-over 74. That not only put him nine shots behind the early leaders, he was in danger of missing the cut in the PGA Championship for the second time in four years. "It wasnt very good," Woods said. "A lot of bad shots, and I never got a putt to the hole." At least he still has his health. Woods said he was a little stiff from his most recent back injury Sunday at Firestone, though he looked the same as he has since returning from March 31 back surgery that kept him out of golf for three months. But the "new normal" is nothing like the old Tiger Woods. Even before his back surgery, Woods has looked nothing like the player who won five times last year. From the middle of the 12th fairway, he came up 20 yards short of the flag on the par-4 12th and had to scramble for par. He hit a spectator in the left hip with a tee shot on the par-3 14th that was 20 yards left of his target. Woods played the back nine in 1-over 37, and then quickly went the wrong direction. He smothered his tee shot at No. 1 so far left that it was in an area marked by a hazard. He followed that with a 3-wood that was a pure hook on the par-4 second hole, and Woods knew it was in trouble. He hung his head as the ball sailed into a water hazard. He had to make a 10-foot putt just to escape with bogey. And perhaps worst of all? He even got sympathy from Phil Mickelson, his longtime foil. "I thought he played with a lot of heart,"; Mickelson said. Nike Air Max 95 Ireland. "Its not easy when your game isnt where you want it and youre hitting shots that you dont normally hit to fight hard. I thought the second hole was a great example, when he hooked it into the water. A lot of guys would just play as focused, not put it all in the next shot. He grinded out a bogey. I thought that showed a lot of heart." Woods even playing the final major of the year looked unlikely four days ago when he withdrew after eight holes at Firestone with another back injury. He hopped down into a deep bunker after playing from an awkward stance, and said it jarred his lower back. He could barely put on his shoes before leaving. Woods said it turned out to be a joint just above his sacrum, and once that was put back into place, he regained motion and was ready to go. The entire round, however, looked like a grind. Woods hit the driver nicely on the 16th and 17th, and twice more on the front nine on back-to-back scoring holes. He just didnt hit it close enough or make the putts. The best putts he made all day were for par (No. 6) and bogey (No. 2). The par-5 seventh hole summed up his day. The two fairways are divided by a water hazard, and only the confident players -- such as Rory McIlroy -- go down the left side and shorten the approach. Woods rehearsed his swing four times, aimed to the right and hit a huge slice that went over the gallery, off a cart path and through a gap in the fence toward a parking area. He originally though it was out-of-bounds. It landed in a "Phone Zone," and Woods was given line-of-sight relief from the fence. He hit 3-wood off the matted grass, through a gap in the gallery just short of the green. He played a delicate pitch-and-run to a front pin position. And he missed a 7-footer for birdie. He talked about winning the PGA Championship, ending more than six years without a major. He was still thinking that way after his round, even though only 16 players from the morning groups -- seven of them club pros -- had higher scores. "If I get under par for two rounds, that will be right in the ball game," Woods said. Based on his play Thursday -- all year, really -- thats a big "if." LONDON - Ched Evans, the soccer player trying to revive his career after a rape conviction, blamed mob rule tactics for forcing English club Oldham to abandon plans to sign him on Thursday. Cheap Nike Air Max Ireland .Oldham said death threats received by staff, sponsors, and fans during a week of intense scrutiny on the third-division club made it impossible to sign Evans.Evans criticized those who stopped his lawful quest to return to professional soccer.Sadly the mob rule tactics employed by the more radical elements of our society and the constant media reporting has had the desired influence on some sponsors and the club would face significant financial pressure if I joined them, Evans said on his personal website.Evans said funding for a new stand at Oldhams stadium would have been jeopardized if he played for the team.It would mean that workers would lose their jobs and others would be put at risk, he said. That would simply not be fair. The former Manchester City, Sheffield United and Wales striker maintains he was wrongly convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman in a hotel room in Wales in 2011. He was released from jail about three months ago and has since been trying to sign with a professional soccer team, while seeking to get his conviction overturned by the Criminal Cases Review Commission.Whilst I continue to maintain my innocence, I wish to make it clear that I wholeheartedly apologize for the effects that night in Rhyl has had on many people, not least the woman concerned, Evans said.Several people have been fined for revealing the victims identity online, and she has reportedly had to change her name several times and move.It has been claimed that those using social media in an abusive and vindictive way towards this woman are supporters of mine, Evans said. I wish to make it clear that these people are not my supporters, and I condemn their actions entirely.Oldham has lost sponsorship deals this week over its pursuit of Evans, and also said it received a barrage of abuse.Proceeding could have placed significant financial pressure on the club and continued to be a divisive influence, Oldham chief executive Neil Joy said.We deplore and condemn the vile and abusive threats, some including death threats, which have been made to our fans, sponsors and staff whilst this process has been in the public domain, Joy added outside the clubs stadium. The Professional Footballers Association is still helping the 26-year-old Evans find a team.PFA chief executive Gordon Taylor compared Evans bid to clear his name with Hillsborough stadium disaster campaigners who fought to ensure the 96 dead Liverpool fans were not blamed for the 1989 crush.(Evans) wouldnt be the first person or persons to have been found guilty, maintained their innocence, and then been proved right, Taylor told the BBC. We know what was alleged to have happened at Hillsborough and its now unravelling, and were finding it was very different to how it was portrayed at the time — indeed by the police.___Rob Harris can be followed at www.twitter.com/RobHarris Nike Air Max 97 Ireland . Subbans power-play goal 4:08 into overtime sent the Montreal Canadiens into the All-Star break with a 2-1 win over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. PRETORIA, South Africa -- Blood on the stairs, walls and furniture, a cocked 9 mm pistol, bloody towels, fallen wall tiles. Like pieces of an unfinished puzzle, the photos of the blood-splattered interior of Oscar Pistorius home gave a fragmented picture Thursday of his girlfriends violent end. One of the first police officers to arrive at the scene testified at the athletes murder trial that he followed a "trail of blood" when he got there. Recounting what he saw in macabre detail, former police colonel G.S. van Rensburg said he traced spots and bigger blood marks downstairs where Reeva Steenkamp lay dead from three gunshot wounds, then followed them across the floor, up the stairs, through a small lounge area and into Pistorius bedroom. Ultimately, he reached the bathroom where the double-amputee Olympian shot his girlfriend in the early hours of Valentines Day last year. There, van Rensburg said he found Pistorius gun, its hammer back and safety off, lying on a mat. Nearby were spent bullet casings, cellphones and a blood-soaked towel, as well as the cricket bat Pistorius says he used to smash open the toilet door to get to the fatally wounded Steenkamp. In the toilet cubicle, a dark pool of blood was on the floor as well as wooden splinters from the broken door. The mat the gun lay on was clean, in glaring contrast to the blood stains all around it, head prosecutor Gerrie Nel noted. The 27-year-old Pistorius faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted of murder, and also faces three firearms charges. He has pleaded not guilty and says he shot the 29-year-old model by mistake, believing she was an intruder hiding in the toilet cubicle. Prosecutors charge he intentionally shot Steenkamp after an argument. Using the photos, the prosecution created a detailed picture of the scene. One showed a gun holster on the side of the bed where Pistorius says Steenkamp was sleeping that night. Nike Air Max Ireland Sale. The size of the bedroom suggested Pistorius would have had to walk close to where he says he thought she was still sleeping to get to the bathroom. Pistorius mostly kept his head down, avoiding the TV monitors where the images were shown. The screen next to Pistorius was switched off before the exhibit began. Van Rensburg confirmed the photos reflected how he found the scene just before 4 a.m., about half an hour after prosecutors say Pistorius shot Steenkamp. The former police officer said he had been on duty for about 24 hours by then, dealing with other cases. The photos showed blood stains splattered on a white wall close to a group of trophies in the Paralympic champions home. Running on carbon-fiber blades, Pistorius medaled repeatedly at the Paralympic games and also competed at the London Olympics, but didnt win a medal. Photos of the bathroom showed broken wall tiles on the floor and a metal panel that had been damaged, apparently after being hit by a hard object. There was an air gun and a baseball bat near the door to Pistorius bedroom. Pictures of the bedroom showed a cabinet with multiple pairs of sunglasses and a blood-smeared box of watches, as well as blood stains on the carpets. Van Rensburg described how, on arriving at Pistorius house, he saw Steenkamps body near the entrance covered in towels and plastic bags that the daughter of the estate manager said she had used, with assistance from Pistorius, to try to stop the bleeding. Pistorius was pacing in the kitchen, van Rensburg said. "I asked him what happened but he didnt answer me," the former police officer said. "He was in tears." "We then followed the trail of blood up the stairs." EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. Brittan Golden Jersey . -- The Minnesota Vikings are struggling both on and off the field. Middle linebacker Erin Henderson became the latest to find trouble, when news of his drunken-driving arrest surfaced Wednesday. Wide receiver Jerome Simpson was jailed Nov. 9 and later charged with two counts of DWI. Cornerback A.J. Jefferson was released Monday mere hours after he was arrested following a fight with his girlfriend. Jefferson was charged Wednesday with one count of felony domestic assault by strangulation. Thats three police-blotter appearances in three weeks for a team with a 2-8-1 record. "The fact that we have had three recent off field situations is unacceptable and disappointing," general manager Rick Spielman said in a prepared statement. "Our organization looks at each situation and the circumstances involved to determine our actions with those players and how to best move forward. The Vikings have a comprehensive approach with our player development program and excellent resources that are a part of this organization, but certainly we will take a methodical look at how we can improve upon our current programs to prevent these situations in the future." Spielman left the questions from reporters about Henderson up to coach Leslie Frazier, who politely but uncomfortably declined to answer most of them. Henderson is expected to play, Frazier said, but not start Sunday against Chicago. Henderson didnt practice last week or play at Green Bay because of what the team described as a personal matter, and Frazier declined to answer whether the arrest and Hendersons absence were connected. He said Henderson was not being punished, however, by the team. According to police in the Minneapolis suburb of Eden Prairie, where the Vikings have their headquarters, Henderson was arrested Nov. 19 for probable cause driving while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. As of Wednesday he had not been charged with a crime. Hendersons attorney, David Valentini, filed a petition Wednesday in Hennepin County court to have his drivers license reinstated. Because Henderson registered a 0.11 blood alcohol concentration following a breath test, his license was automatically revoked. According to the petition, Henderson claimed police did not have "articulable grounds to make an investigatory stop" nor did they have "reasonable and probable cause" for arrest. Henderson told reporters he was sorry for his teammates and the organization for "any embarrassment" he brought. He declined to speak specifically about his case. He also said his absence last week was "a mutual thing" between him and the team. "It was a wake-up call for me and, honestly, it may be something that I needed in the long run, something I think will help me progress and become the person Im capable of being and the man that I want to be," Henderson said. He added: "This will give me the opportunity to really step back and look in the mirror and look at my reflection and become happier with the person that I am and the person that I know I can become. And like I said, Ive been given a lot of great tools and a lot of resources by the program and by the organization here, something Im very thankful for. I look forward to showing you guys the improvements of myself." Audie Cole filled in for Henderson last week and will likely keep that spot. Cole had a team-high 13 tackles, one sack and three quarterback hits on Sunday. "We came back on Monday, looked at the tape and verified some of the things that we saw in the game," Frazier said. "And you say, How do you just sit this guy down and not give him a chance to show if he can continue this? So we made the decision based on the way he performed, and well get a chance to see him play this Sunday and see how he does." Cornerback Xavier Rhodes was the most notable player on the injury report. He had yet to pass all of his post-concussion tests after getting hurt Sunday, but Frazier said he hoped the rookie could practice Thursday. Nick Gates Jersey . MONACO, Monaco - With the IOCs new bidding process now in place, the race for the 2024 Olympics is primed to take off. [url=http

MONACO, Monaco - With the IOCs new bidding process now in place, the race for the 2024 Olympics is primed to take off. Ryan Hewitt Jersey .The U.S. Olympic Committee will make a decision next week on whether to bid and may even select a city to put forward, making a choice among Boston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington. Were not in it to come in fourth, third or second, USOC chairman Larry Probst said Tuesday, setting the stage for a contest that could also include Paris, Rome, Berlin or Hamburg and other cities. The 2024 campaign is ready to move forward after the International Olympic Committee approved a raft of changes Monday that include a revised process designed to make bidding less expensive and more attractive to potential candidates. The new system includes an invitation phase where interested countries and cities discuss their plans with the IOC in advance of bidding to tailor the project to their own needs and conditions.I dont think it has much of an impact on our process, Probst said. I dont think any of these reforms have a significant impact on bidding or not bidding.IOC President Thomas Bach said Tuesday the invitation phase will begin on Jan. 15, eight months before the Sept. 15 deadline for declaration of bids.Bach said the IOC will contact all national Olympic committees interested in bidding. Meetings will be arranged in Lausanne, Switzerland, or in the potential bid cities. Its not an evaluation, Bach said. It will be up to these potential candidate cities to raise the topics they think are worthwhile. Our delegation will listen and give them any advice.Bach again ruled out reopening the bidding for the 2002 Winter Games. Scared off by high costs and other factors, several cities pulled out, leaving only Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan, in the running.Canadian member Dick Pound said the former candidates should be given the chance to rejoin the race under the new bidding rules. But Bach said it would be unfair to the two remaining contenders. Its like a 10,000-meter race, Bach said. If you pull out after five laps, you cant expect that the race will be started again. One thing is already certain for 2024: The Peruvian capital of Lima beat out Helsinki on Tuesday for the right to host the IOC session in 2017 where the vote will be held.Germany has already announced it will be bidding, with a choice between Berlin and Hamburg to be made in March. Italy is expected to announce a Rome bid on Monday. France is likely to approve a Paris bid next month.Other potential contenders include Doha, Qatar; Istanbul, Turkey; Baku, Azerbaijan; Dubai, United Arab Emirates; Budapest, Hungary; and a city or region in South Africa. The United States hasnt hosted the Summer Games since 1996 in Atlanta. New York made a failed bid for the 2012 Olympics, and Chicago missed out for 2016.Thats 28 years, Probst said. Thats more than a generation. Thats a long time to not have the games in the United States.Probst said he spoke with Bach and other IOC members in Monaco who encouraged the U.S. to submit a 2024 bid.Its more along the lines of its time for the U.S. to bid and if you have a strong bid with a high-quality leadership team, good venue plan and all the other elements that are important to the membership, you have an opportunity to compete and hopefully compete successfully, he said. The USOC board will meet in California on Dec. 16 to decide whether to bid after listening to presentations from all four cities. The board could decide to choose a candidate city right away or wait a month or two.If we decide to move forward with a bid next week, I would say within 30-60 days we would probably select a city, but we could get to that next week as well, Probst said. The new IOC rules allow for events to be held outside host cities and countries in exceptional cases.I dont think the notion that you could have venues in two different cities is really applicable to a U.S. bid, so I dont think it advantages us or disadvantages us, Probst said.Los Angeles is seeking to host the Olympics for a third time after staging the games in 1932 and 1984.I think some people think its a pro, some people feel its a con, Probst said. Theyve got facilities in place, theyve done it before, but you hear some members say been there, done that, so thats one of the things we have to consider.___Follow Stephen Wilson on Twitter: http://twitter.com/stevewilsonap Cody Hollister Jersey . They havent won since he started against Jacksonville on Oct. 12, and thats the opponent again coming up Thursday night. So for this game between a pair of 2-12 teams fighting for draft position, Whitehurst believes he has a simple formula to help the Titans to victory.Relax and have fun.We dont really have a lot to lose, Whitehurst said Tuesday. Thats kind of our mindset. Were going to go out there, be confident, let it all hang out and try and get a win.The career backup who signed with the Titans this off-season already has set career highs by completing 69 of 122 for 967 yards with five touchdowns and two interceptions. He has played in five games and will make his fourth start Thursday night in a big turnaround for a quarterback who had gone two years without throwing a regular-season pass heading into this season. The game is really fun for me, and its become more fun, Whitehurst said. Earlier in my career, I was probably more stressed out about stuff. Oh, gosh, Ive got to do this, do that. But I try to have fun, because theres times in my career in college and in the pros that it wasnt as fun as it should be. Now, I prepare myself. I go out there and I try to have fun.Whitehurst went from his last start against the Washington Redskins on Oct. 19 to being inactive until Zach Mettenberger sprained his right shoulder Dec. 7. Whitehurst relishes the chance to play whenever the opportunity arises, even as the Titans season has come apart. He said the circumstances arent great, and he knew he was coming to Tennessee as a backup.Theres no substitute for playing, Whitehurst said. You get to play, you get to play in the NFL. Its been pretty awesome for me personally, but theres been a lot of anguish and a lot of heartache. Ive been a part of some of these losses, and thats been tough. You definitely feel more a part of the team and I hope to go out and help us get a win.He has the trust of Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt, who helped to bring Whitehurst to Tennessee when hired in January.I feel good about Charlie and what hes done. Hes played well for us when hes had to go in there, Whisenhunt said. He made some plays for us and made some good throws. He started against Jacksonville the last time and played a pretty good game, so I certainly feel comfortable with him.NOTES: The Titans were without RB Dexter McCluster (knee), LT Taylor Lewan (left ankle) and Mettenberger (shoulder) in practice Tuesday. The Kelowna, B.C. rink made the announcement on their facebook page on Thursday night.DUBAI, United Arab Emirates -- The hope of an all-Williams final at the Dubai Championships ended on the racket of Frenchwoman Alize Cornet on Friday. The 26th-ranked Cornet scored her first career victory over a No. 1 player when she upset Serena Williams 6-4, 6-4. "Im so excited," Cornet said, smiling broadly. "I didnt expect that definitely, and Im really, really happy and proud of myself. "Shes one -- or maybe -- the biggest champion of history, and, wow, just thinking that I beat her today." Earlier in the day, Venus Williams earned her spot in the final when she dominated eighth-seeded Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark 6-3, 6-2. Serena Williams, playing in her first tournament since losing in the Australian Open fourth round, offered no excuses. She said her back, which had been hurting in recent weeks, was fine. "Im a wee bit embarrassed," said Williams, who started laughing. "She played really well. I just didnt play today. "I tried, though. I dont think I have made that many errors in a match in I think at least three years, maybe four years." Williams gave herself a failing grade for being unable to find a winning formula for the match: "I think out of a 10, I was at like a negative 283." Cornet won the first set when Williams flinched while serving in the ninth game. Cornet, who reached the Paris Indoors semifinal earlier this month, took advantage of her one-set point in the 10th game with a winning backhand down the line. The Frenchwoman then jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the second set, but Williams rebounded. Cornet broke Williams serve again in the seventh game with a winning forehand down the line. Williams fought off four match points on her owwn serve in the ninth game, but Cornet served out the match at love. Cheap Nike Air Max. "I know her, and I know she feels the moment when she has to put more into making the opponent feel that shes still here," Cornet said. "But I did it, too. I showed her that I would be there till the end. "So when she was screaming louder, I was screaming louder. She was hitting harder, I was hitting harder." In contrast to her sister, the 44th-ranked Venus Williams has been playing top level tennis all week long in Dubai. A former two-time Dubai champion in 2009 and 2010, Williams currently holds a 14-match winning streak at the tournament. She didnt play in this event between 2011 and 2013. "I feel like Ive just gotten so much better since my first round to now, just feeling comfortable on the court, feeling comfortable when Im behind, feeling comfortable when Im in the lead," Williams said. Williams, who lost the Auckland final to Ana Ivanovic last month, lost an early 2-0 lead in the first set. But from 2-2, Williams always held the lead in the match. Williams failed to serve out the first set at 5-2, surrendering that eighth game at love. Wozniacki, however, surrendered her serve -- and the first set -- on a second set point in the next game Williams broke Wozniackis serve at 15-40 with a textbook backhand volley for a 2-0 lead in the second set. She broke serve again in the eighth game for the win. "I didnt really feel like I could go out and play what I wanted to play," said Wozniacki, who won the Dubai trophy in 2011. "Once I got going, she started to play better as well. It was kind of uphill today." Venus Williams holds a 3-0 lead in matches played against Cornet. AUBURN, Ala. Chuck Bednarik Womens Jersey . -- Nick Marshall ran for three touchdowns and passed for a score and No. 5 Auburn beat South Carolina 42-35 on Saturday night, surviving a scare from the Gamecocks after Steve Spurrier made a succession of gambles that paid off. The Tigers (6-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference) finally stopped the onslaught of Spurrier, Dylan Thompson and fourth-down magic late in the game. Auburn burned off four-plus minutes from the clock after the first unsuccessful gamble before the Gamecocks (4-4, 2-4) made a stop at midfield for one more shot. Thompson, who threw five touchdown passes and helped convert five straight fourth-down tries, took over at his own 15 with no timeouts and 1:08 left. Jonathan Jones made his second interception in the end zone of the fourth quarter on Thompsons last-play heave to preserve the Tigers SEC and national title hopes. The Gamecocks, 18-point underdogs, converted an onside kick and four fourth-down plays in their own territory. Spurrier finally busted on his last gamble. Thompson threw an incompletion on fourth and 14 from Auburns 19 that gave the Tigers the ball back with 5:28 left. The Gamecocks got another chance, and moved into Auburn territory with a completion and personal foul against Jonathon Mincy. Then Thompson threw one final pass into a crowd of players from both teams, and Jones came down with it. Spurrier said he would have gone for two points and the victory if the Gamecocks had scored. Thompson also had a pick in the end zone early in the fourth when he was drilled by Gabe Wright as he threw. Auburn tied Florida State for the longest active streak with 14 straight home wins. South Carolina has lost three consecutive SEC games for the first time since the end of the 2009 season. Marshall ran for 89 yards and completed 12 of 14 passes for 139 yards. He scored on a 37-yard sprint and on runs of 4 and 9 yards. Cameron Artis-Payne gained 167 yards on 25 carries as Auburns punishing running game countered South Carolinas prolific passing. Receiver Ricardo Louis ran for 102 yards and raced to a 75-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter. Thompson was 29-of-51 passing for 402 yards but was also intercepted three times beyond or near the goal line. Pharoh Cooper caught two of his touchdown throws and had 127 yards on seven catches. It was quite a duel between Spurrier and Auburns Gus Malzahn, both innovative offensive minds who seemed engaged in a chess match of differing styles. Both had their quarterbacks catch passes for first downs, and both stuck to what they do best. Auburn racked up 551 yards, 395 on the ground. South Carolina had 416 of its 535 yards through the air. The difference: Auburn scored four touchdowns on trips inside South Carolinas 20-yard line. The Gamecocks were 2 of 5 with the three picks keeping them out of the end zone. Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork. Daniel Helm Jersey .com) - Jeremy Hill rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown and Dre Kirkpatrick posted two interceptions as the Cincinnati Bengals clinched a playoff spot for fourth straight season with a 37-28 win over the Denver Broncos on Monday. Andy Dalton completed 17-of-26 passes for 146 yards with two touchdowns and an interception for the Bengals (10-4-1), who will battle Pittsburgh for the AFC North title on Sunday night. Im very proud of our guys tonight for our resiliency, our ability to come back after negative plays and put positive plays and string them together, Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said. Obviously, things to work on and do, but were still in position, still controlling our destiny, and thats all we can ask for at this point in the year. Jermaine Gresham caught nine passes for 62 yards and a score and Giovani Bernard also hauled in a TD pass in the win. Peyton Manning struggled throughout and was picked off four times while finishing with 311 yards and two scores on 28-of-44 passing for the Broncos (11-4), who had a four-game win streak come to an end. C.J. Anderson rushed for 83 yards and a score on 18 carries, Emmanuel Sanders had two scores to go with 70 yards on six catches and Demaryius Thomas finished with seven catches for a game-high 115 yards in defeat. We just have to be more consistent for four quarters. You cant play well the end of the second quarter and the beginning of the third quarter - not play well in the first and not play well in the fourth, said Manning. Against good football teams, you have to be more consistent and I have to play better as well. New England clinched the first overall seed in the AFC due to Denvers loss. Brandon Tates 49-yard punt return helped set up Mike Nugents 23-yard field goal to give the Bengals a 30-28 edge with 7:49 to play. On the following Broncos drive, a facemask penalty wiped out Thomas 27-yard catch, and Taylor Mays sacked Manning for a 6-yard loss to force a punt. Denver got the ball back with four minutes remaining. On 3rd-and-1, Mannings throw was way off the mark as Kirkpatrick intercepted it and ran the ball back for a 30-yard score and a 37-28 lead with 2:41 to play. After Manning was sacked, Anderson caught a short pass and ran it 20 yards for a first down prior to the two-minute warning. Two plays later, Manning hit Welker over the middle for a first down. On 3rd-and-4, Anderson broke two tackles and ran for 27 yards, but Kirkpatrick picked off Manning again at the Bengals 5 to seal the win. After each team punted twice to start the game, A.J. Green tipped Daltons pass up in the air and Aqib Talib made a diving one-handed grab and ran it back 33 yards for an early Broncos lead. Green was hit hard on the play and was limited the rest of the game with a right arm injury. On the next play from scrimmage, Hill bounced out to his right on a counter, shook off a tackle and darted 85 yards for a 7-7 game. Hills second-effort plunge on fourth down moved the chains to help set up Nugents eventual 37-yard field goal less than five minutes into the second quarter. Denvers woeful offensive start continued on the ensuing drive as Reggie Nelson ripped the ball out of Julius Thomas hands for an interception, giving the Bengals the ball at their opponents 25. Dalton scrambled for gains of 10 and nine yards before lofting a pass to Gresham in the back of the end zone from two yards out to increase Cincinnatis lead to 17-7 with 7:56 to play in the first half. A Ryan Clady holding call erased a 48-yard catch from Demaryius Thomas on Denvers next drive and halted all momentum after Andersons 13-yard run moved the team near midfield. The Bengals took over shortly after at their own 15. Bernard broke off a 23- yard run and also hauled in an 18-yard pass before Nugent was true from 49 yards out. Manning and the Denver offense received the ball with 1:03 to play in the first half and cooly moved the ball 49 yards down the field in seven plays. Connor Barth, however, hooked his 49-yard attempt wide left as time expired. Down 20-7 at halftime, Denver came storming out of the break. Omar Bolden returned the kickoff 77 yards down to the Bengals 21, Demaryius Thomas made a 19-yard grab and Anderson ran the ball in from a yard out after a pass interference call to make it a 20-14 contest. Adam Jones countered with an electric 80-yard return of his own to start the Bengals at their opponents 27. Three plays later, Dalton dumped off a pass to Bernard, who ran through a defender and up the left sideline for a 22-yard score. Sanders hauled in a deep 33-yard pass down to the Bengals 15 before catching Mannings quick strike three plays later for a 4-yard touchdown and a 27-21 game with 9:08 to play in the third. Cincinnati marched down the field into the red zone, but Von Miller stripped Hill of the ball and Denver took over at its own 9. Manning stepped up in the pocket and fired a 46-yard bomb to Demaryius Thomas After Thomas moved the chains again with a 15-yard catch down to the Bengals 9, Sanders got past the Cincinnati secondary and put the Broncos ahead with a 5-yard score for a 28-27 lead with 1:29 remaining in the third. Early in the fourth, Adam Jones picked off Manning and returned it to Denvers 23, but was flagged for taunting which drew the Bengals out of field goal position. "In the first round of the year youre always anxious to get started," Pettersen said. "It took me a while to get really comfortable, to trust what Ive been working on. "In the end the trust was stronger than the rest. I hit a lot of great shots but I also have to say I left a lot of shots out there. I three-putted a lot of greens, stupid three-putts really, but I also felt like I played good and gave myself a lot of birdie channces. Rodney Randle Jersey. quot; Ricordeau, who had eight birdies, a bogey and a double bogey, briefly drew level with Pettersen before finishing among a group of four players with rounds of 67. Tied in second place were Park Hee-young of South Korea and Americans Jaclyn Sweeney and Jessica Korda, daughter of former tennis star Petr Korda and already a tournament winner this year. World No. 4 Lydia Ko of New Zealand was among a larger group at 4-under after a mixed opening round. The 16-year-old was one-under after her opening nine but came home with five birdies and two bogeys, including birdies at her last two holes. Australias Karrie Webb, a record four-time winner of the event, opened with a 71. The Hall of Famer had another brush with rules officials after being disqualified last week at Royal Pines for signing an incorrect scorecard after the second round. Webb started her round on the 10th tee Thursday and was told she had teed up fractionally in front of the tee marker. She was allowed to replace her ball without incurring a two-shot penalty. This week, I flew out to Saint John, New Brunswick to speak at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association mens soccer championships. Chris Carson Seahawks Jersey . There are eight teams from across the country contesting the nationals, with games taking place from Wednesday to Saturday. You can watch the action live by clicking this link. While I was in Saint John, I also had the chance to speak to coaches and volunteers from the Fundy Soccer Association. We often focus our attention on the top of the pyramid in Canadian soccer - professional teams in MLS or our mens and womens national teams. While many fans are keen to follow the stories at the highest level of the game, there are also some great stories to tell about the people who are the real lifeblood of the game in Canada - the volunteers who run grassroots clubs. The Fundy Soccer Association is a great example. Their organization is full of volunteer administrators, referees and coaches, all trying their hardest to give the kids in their community a great experience with the game of soccer. It isnt about developing professional or national team players for them (although doing so would be icing on the cake); it is about ensuring that every child that comes into their club falls in love with the game, has fun, and stays involved in soccer for the rest of their life. It is about teaching them life lessons through the game of soccer. They are implementing the principles of long-term player development (LTPD) at their club because they understand the reasoning and research behind it. It isnt always an easy sell - there are parents that reject small-sided games and age-appropriate competition because it "doesnt look like real soccer" - but they continue to preach the gospel of LTPD in the hopes that it will soon become the norm. What organizations like Fundy need more than anything, is support. There are two major areas where that support would make a major difference - the first being coach education. When a club is reliant upon volunteer coaches (the vast majority of non-profit grassroots clubs in Canada would not exist if not for volunteer coaches), attracting and retaining coaches is paramount. That is very difficult to do when the cost of training and certifying those coaches is taken into consideration. It is one thing to ask a parent or volunteer to give up their time for their club. It is quite another to then ask them to pay for the privilege. While many clubs across the country pick up the cost of coach education (which they offset through higher registration fees or hard-earned sponsorship money that needs to be generated year after year), many of them cannot. In those situations, the cost of coach education is passed on to the volunteer coach - making it even more difficult to attract and retain coaches. Ive said it before (and Im sure Ill be saying it again in the future) but our governing bodies need to find revenue sources that completely offset the cost of coach education. Making coach education free to volunteer coaches across the country removes a massive barrier to grassroots coach education, making it far easier for organizations like Fundy to develop coaches. The second area that requires support is curriculum. Volunteer coaches often find themselves rushing home from work, collecting their kids and dashing off to practice. They keep a bag of balls, their boots and assorted coaching equipment in their cars, because they are out on the field three or sometimes four nights a week. They simply dont have time to sit down on their computers after work to look for training ideas on the internet. Shouldnt it be easier than that? Shouldnt those volunteer coaches have a document that they can use, a blueprint for the development of young soccer players they can refer to when stretched for time? Of course they should. And thats where a national curriculum comes into play. That we dont have one is a problem that the CSA needs to rectify immediately. Work is being done on that right now, but until such time as we have our own national curriculum, volunteer coaches across the country will be left to fend for themselves. The Fundy Soccer Association and those like it that exist across the country deserve better than that. L.J. Collier Womens Jersey . The takeover reportedly cost 350 million euros ($475 million). Thohir, and fellow Indonesians Rosan Roeslani and Handy Soetedjo agreed to buy a 70 per cent stake, Inter said on its website. The first Serie A club to cede majority ownership to foreigners was Roma, which was taken over by a group of Boston executives in 2011. The 43-year-old Thohir is part owner of the Philadelphia 76ers and D.C. United. He is chairman of the Mahaka Group, which has business interests in media and entertainment. "Today is a truly special day in my life," Thohir said. "I am honoured that Mr. Moratti has entrusted me with the responsibility to lead Inter into the next chapter, and I am excited to have him continue in the future as my partner. The job done by the Moratti family, from Angelos great Inter to Massimos treble record, has made Inter one of the most respected clubs in the world." Thohir has also served as vice-president of the Indonesian Olympic Committee and as Indonesias chief of mission for the 2012 London Olympics. "I am an entrepreneur but first of all I am a supporter and a sports lover," Thohir said. "I cannot wait to put our passion and international experience at the service of this fantastic club and its supporters."t; It remains unclear if the 68-year-old Moratti, who has owned the club since 1995, will remain president. "The important thing is that hes always respectful of the rest of the world, beyond his own job, and I think these people also have that in mind. ... Theyre people that really mean well and are good character-wise, too." Inter and city rival AC Milan have each won 18 Serie A titles, second on the all-time list behind Juventus record 29. Inter has also won three European Cups. Moratti took over the club after his father Angelo was owner during the teams early glory years in the 1960s, when Inter won the European Cup twice. After some difficult years under the younger Moratti, Inter returned to the top after the 2006 match-fixing scandal and won five consecutive Serie A titles from 2006-2010. In 2010, Inter also won the Champions League and the Italian Cup for an unprecedented treble in Italy, with Jose Mourinho as manager. However, Inter struggled again in the past two seasons -- finishing sixth in 2012 and ninth last season with the same number of losses (16) as wins. Inter is coming off its first loss of this season, a 3-0 defeat to first-place Roma, which left the team in fourth place under first-year manager Walter Mazzarri. BUFFALO, N. [url=http://www.cheapnewyorkjetsjerseysauthentic.com/?tag=authentic-joe-klecko-jersey]Joe Klecko Jersey[/url] .Y. --

BUFFALO, N. Joe Klecko Jersey .Y. -- First, Patrick Kane gave his family and friends something to cheer about by scoring a highlight-reel goal in a rare trip home to Buffalo on Sunday night. Then, Kane stuck around an hour after the Chicago Blackhawks 2-1 victory over the Sabres, by posing for pictures and signing autographs in the stands. As homecomings go, Kanes was nearly complete except that his beloved grandfather Donald Kane was not around to see it after passing away last month. "No matter what, youre going to miss him," Kane said, following only his fourth NHL game at Buffalo. "But life goes on, and I think more importantly, I have a lot of family here at the game that came and supported me." Coach Joel Quenneville saw a jump during a performance in which Kane snapped a five-game goal drought that began after his grandfathers death. "I thought Kane was special," Quenneville said. "He was a threat and had the puck on his stick tonight: very dangerous and nice to see him play well here at home." Kane opened the scoring 3:12 in, by capping a breath-taking rush. Bursting past defenceman Christian Ehrhoff, Kane snapped a shot through the legs of defenceman Chad Ruhwedel that beat goalie Jhonas Enroth over the left shoulder. Kane nearly made it 2-1 with 8 minutes left in the second period, when he got in alone behind the Sabres defence only to have his backhander stopped by Enroth. He also scored into an empty net, but a second after the final horn sounded. Captain Jonathan Toews secured the win by scoring the go-ahead goal 1:34 into the third period. Corey Crawford stopped 20 shots, and the Blackhawks (38-13-14) snapped a two-game road skid. Drew Stafford scored for the league-worst Sabres (19-37-, who had a three-game home winning streak snapped. Stafford capped a nifty three-way passing play to tie the game midway through the first period. Tyler Ennis started it by finding trailing forward Cory Conacher driving up the left wing. Conacher drew Crawford from out of the net and slipped a pass into the crease where Stafford jammed it in after his first chance was blocked by Brent Seabrook. The assist for Ennis made up for a goal he had disallowed a few minutes earlier, when he was called for hooking Crawford. "I didnt think it was a penalty, and frustrated that I had the goal taken away," Ennis said. "But I dont think that was the turning point." The difference was the Sabres ongoing difficulties on offence, which has managed a league-low 122 goals. Buffalos power play went 0-for-5 on Sunday, and is 0-for-10 over its past four games. "What do we take out of that one?" Ennis said. "One: Jhonys playing great. Two: Weve got to stay out of the box. And, three: Our power plays got to be better." Enroth stopped 29 shots and had little chance on either of the two goals he gave up. With the game tied at 1 and the Sabres mounting a threat in Chicagos end to open the third period, Toews answered by capping a 3-on-2 rush the other way. Andrew Shaw crossed Buffalos blue line and found Brandon Saad breaking up the right wing. Saad drew Enroth his way before steering a pass through the crease to Toews, who then snapped it in the open side. It was Toews 25th goal of the season and sixth in four games. Toews has shown little sign of a post-Olympic hangover after he helped Canada win a gold medal at Sochi. "I think hes returned from the Olympics in great shape, very confident," Quenneville said. "He just seems to have the knack, has good pace with it, has the puck a lot as well. And when hes around the net, hes getting rewarded." The Blackhawks extended their win streak to five games against the Sabres. And with 90 points, they jumped into third place in the Western Conference standings, a point ahead of idle San Jose. NOTES: Kane was the last Chicago player off the ice following pregame warmups and got a big cheer after flipping a puck into a large crowd of Blackhawks jersey-wearing fans behind the teams bench. ... Sabres C Conacher made his debut with Buffalo since being claimed Wednesday, a day after being waived by Ottawa. Conacher played college at Buffalos Canisius and is from nearby Burlington, Ontario. ... The Sabres suspended D Rostislav Klesla for failing to report to the teams AHL affiliate in Rochester. Acquired in a trade with Washington on Wednesday, Klesla told Canadian broadcaster TSN that he intended to not finish the NHL season, and instead planned to continue his career in Europe. He wants to leave a legacy. Consider it done. The 6-foot-10 senior played the game of his life Thursday, scoring a career-high 41 points to help fourth-seeded Michigan State look every bit like a March Madness favourite in a 93-78 victory over Delaware. "He was playing in another zone, not even in the ozone," Izzo said. "He was in Pluto and beyond." This marked the first 40-point performance in the NCAA tournament since Stephen Curry did it for Davidson in a win over Gonzaga in 2008. Payne set a school tournament scoring record, surpassing the 34 points Greg Kelser scored during Michigan States 1979 title run led by Magic Johnson. Paynes overall line: 10 for 15 from the field, 4 for 5 from 3-point range, and a tournament-record 17 for 17 from the free throw line. He chipped in eight rebounds, too. "Forty-one is 41, and he was a load tonight," Delaware coach Monte Ross said. "He was probably the best big man that I have faced in 21 years of college basketball." Payne thought long and hard about leaving for the NBA after last season. He decided to stick around to see if he could lead Michigan State to another Final Four. Asked what his best night -- at least so far -- in a Spartan uniform means to him, Payne said, "Leaving a legacy." "I talked to Coach about that," he said. "The other day, I sent him a text and were just trying to win games. We are here to win the weekend and thats the main goal." Michigan States next game is Saturday against 12th-seeded Harvard, which beat Cincinnati 61-57 in an earlier East region contest. Though his entire performance was sublime, it was never better than during a 105-second stretch midway through the first half. Payne scored 12 straight points to help the Spartans (27- open an 18-point lead over the 13th-seeded Blue Hens (25-10). Those points came three at a time -- a trio of spot-up 3s and one ridiculous, spinning left-hander from the paint while he was being mugged by Carl Baptiste. Payne stepped to the line to make the free throw with his right handd -- the hand he shoots most of his shots with -- and by then, he had pretty much proven his point. Wayne Chrebet Jersey. "He made the right decision to stay," Izzo said. "Hes a much more cerebral player, hes a much stronger player. He is starting to marry the inside-outside game. And if he does that on a consistent basis, I see him as one of the best 4 men in the whole country." With the game out of reach -- but Izzo less than satisfied with what he called an uneven effort -- Payne played almost to the end and the Spartans fed him. He dunked with 4:26 left to reach his career high and break Kelsers record. Points Nos. 40 and 41 came on free throws; the second one gave him the record for most makes in an NCAA tournament game without a miss. The previous holders are a couple of unforgettable names: Bill Bradley (1963, Princeton) and Fennis Dembo (1987, Wyoming). "When youre scoring like that and your games coming so easy to you, and you make a lot of shots, it feels like youre in a rhythm," Payne said. "It feels like you cant be stopped." For the brief moments Delaware did stop him, others stepped up. Travis Trice scored 13 of his 19 points in the second half to prevent the Colonial Athletic Association champs from turning this into a game. Branden Dawson, the Big Ten tournaments most valuable player, finished with 10 points, eight rebounds and four assists -- modest on this day. It was that run through the Big Ten that turned Michigan State into a trendy pick in brackets across the country. President Barack Obama has the Spartans winning it all, and Las Vegas has them favoured along with Florida and Louisville. Devon Saddler had 21 points and Davon Usher added 20 for Delaware, which made its first NCAA appearance since 1999. Ross looked at it all with a sense of awe. He thought his team played pretty well. He still cant believe Michigan State is a No. 4 seed. "Im only reiterating what the whole country is saying," Ross said. "If the country is saying youre the odds-on favourite to win the national championship, youre not 16th best in the country." Posted in IYH Forums by jokergreen0220 at 03:46, Jul 04 2019

At a press scrum last Thursday, the day before the Redblacks were to play their season home opener and officially open the new TD Place Stadium, one of the owners, Roger Greenburg, was asked why he decided to become the co-owner of a football team. Cody Latimer Jersey . His answer just may be the best example of why football will work this time, when it didnt on two previous occasions in Ottawa. Im paraphrasing, but the chairman/CEO of Minto Developments said that he believes there are four pillars that make up a strong community. The first is the medical system. Second, is the education system. The third is the arts and the final one is the sports culture. He went on to say that the Senators have contributed to the sports culture, but it was time to add to that with the return of professional football to the city and the addition of professional soccer. Greenburg and his partners John Ruddy, William Shenkman and Jeff Hunt wanted to be part of building and strengthening one of the pillars of a strong community. In other words, this ownership group has done all of this for the right reason - to strengthen the community that they live in and they were rewarded on Friday night for all their hard work and perseverance. Fridays home opener was an unforgettable experience and, hopefully, showed one of our other major cities in the country, that happens to be only about four hours away, just what is possible. The Redblacks didnt score a touchdown on the field, but they did in the stands and that is what mattered most. Jeff Hunt said the team could have sold another 15,000 tickets to the game and that will translate into demand. Based on the in-game experience on Friday night, nobody should be surprised to hear that the next home game will be sold out soon. The atmosphere was electric. It was a young energetic crowd, who partied like they were attending a rock concert. In fact, in what was an ingenious move, there was also a rock concert going on before the game to get people pumped up for kick-off at what was a Canadian-style tailgate party. TD Place Stadium is fantastic with great sightlines and a design that not only looks outstanding, but is designed to enhance the fan experience for soccer and football, specifically. It doesnt feel like an all-purpose facility that accommodates many, but pleases none. The game itself was not a masterpiece, but it had an exciting finish when, down by two, Redblacks QB Henry Burris hit Kerrie Johnson on a deep ball to set up the game winning field goal. It wasnt a walk-off winner by Brett Maher, but when Ricky Ray was intercepted in the dying seconds, it was game over and the crowd erupted. The games MVP was the crowd, that included Prime Minister Steven Harper, who sat beside CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon and Rough Rider great, Russ Jackson. In fact, one of the highlights of the night was when our TSN cameraa caught a fan walking by the PM and the commish to shake hands with Jackson. It was not a slight to our country leader or the leagues top man, but a show of respect for history of football in Ottawa. And speaking of the telecast, I owe the football fans in Ottawa an apology for mistakenly saying that the five Grey Cup teams in the 60s and 70s were all coached by Frank Clair. My intention was to say that all the Cup teams in the 60s were coached by Clair. Jack Gotta was the coach from 1970-1973 and George Brancato was the coach when the Rough Riders beat Saskatchewan to win in 1976. The telecast wasnt perfect and neither was the night - apparently, some of the concessions ran out of beer and the traffic was a bit tricky, which, of course, was pointed out by some sportswriters...I swear some people would complain that their ice cream is too cold. I recently went to a George Strait concert in Dallas at AT&T Field, one of the most elaborate and state-of-the-art stadiums in the world and it had traffic issues, as well. In fact, it was so jammed up, I ended up tailgating in the parking lot for almost two hours after the event waiting for it to clear. On Friday night, the small issue were just that - small - and didnt, in any way, take away from the success of the event. It was a look at what is possible, even in Ontario ,when it comes to CFL football. The capacity of TD Place Stadium is 24,000, which just may be the perfect number and a blueprint for a possible stadium in Toronto. Our country has great football fans, but just not the volume to consistently fill a 40-to-50,000-seat stadium and at 24,000 in the stands, owners are making money. For those who would say that, if the NFL were in Toronto, they would sell out the old SkyDome, I would remind those people that the NFL regular season games played in Toronto were not sell-outs and not even close. In fact, sources have said that upwards of 20,000 tickets to the games in the Buffalo Bills series were freebies, handed to people on the street. No, 25-30,000-seat stadiums are the perfect size for CFL football, professional soccer and summer concerts and, for proof of that, look no further than Friday night in Ottawa. It can work in Toronto, as well, with a stadium at a realistic capacity and one built for football and soccer, specifically. It worked in Montreal, it is working in a big way in Winnipeg and, after Game One in Ottawa, it looks like it will be a huge hit there, as well. The answer may be BMO Field, which seems to still be part of the plan for the Argos. On our TSN set in Ottawa, Commissioner Mark Cohon had this to say when asked what it would take to replicate the Ottawa plan in Toronto: "The answer is a smaller stadium like BMO," said Cohon. "We know that they have a four-year deal left with Rogers Centre. Were talking to Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment, were talking to the city of Toronto and were working to see if we can move [the Argos] into BMO Field and replicate what we have [in Ottawa.]" The blueprint for the correct business model has now been created and now all that is needed in Toronto is for David Braley, or whomever buys the Argos, to start building the fourth pillar in that community. Congratulations again to the Ottawa Sports and Entertainment Group and, on behalf of the football fans in our country, thank you. At the end of the night in Ottawa, the scoreboard read Redblacks 18 - Argonauts 17, but the true winners were the fans and the community in our nations capital. B.J. ST. Jerry Tillery Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The World Series champion Boston Red Sox lost their 10th straight game for their worst slide in 20 years, and brawled with the Tampa Bay Rays during an 8-5 defeat Sunday. Rays pinch-hitter Sean Rodriguez connected for a tiebreaking, three-run homer in the seventh. Yunel Escobar hit a two-run double later in the inning and then took third on defensive indifference, setting off the fracas. Escobar, Rodriguez and Bostons Jonny Gomes were all ejected. This is Bostons longest losing streak since an 11-game skid from June 8-19, 1994. The Red Sox have been outscored 52-24 over their last 10 games. Boston will try to end the drought on Monday afternoon in a game at Atlanta. Xander Bogaerts hit a two-run single with two outs in the Boston ninth off Josh Lueke. Grant Balfour got his ninth save by retiring Dustin Pedroia on a grounder. Gomes pulled Boston even at 3 with two-run, pinch-hit homer in the seventh off Joel Peralta (2-3). It was Gomes eighth pinch-hit home run. After Craig Breslow (2-1) walked pinch-hitter Desmond Jennings and gave up Evan Longorias single to start the seventh, Rodriguez gave the Rays a 6-3 advantage with his first pinch-hit homer. Escobar doubled and easily took third without a throw on the first pitch to Jose Molina. Escobar got into a yelling match with the Boston dugout and had to be restrained just before both benches and bullpens emptied. The sides gathered around third base for a short session that mostly involved pushing and shoving. Longoria hit a leadoff homer and Logan Forsythe had an RBI single as the Rays took a 2-1 lead in the fourth. Longorias opposite-field drive to right off Brandon Workman was his first since May 6. Wil Myers made it 3-1 on a run-scoring grounder in the fifth. Workman, recalled from Triple-A Pawtucket before the game to replace injured left-hander Felix Doubront (strained left shoulder), gave up three runs and five hits over five innings in his first big league start this season. He made three relief appearances with Boston earlier this year before being optioned to Pawtucket on April 8. Rays starter Jake Odorizzi allowed one run and four hits in six innings. The Red Sox went 0 for 7 with runners in scoring position against the right-hander. Boston had runners on second and third with no outs in the third, but scored just once for a 1-0 lead on a sacrifice fly by Brock Holt. The second most interesting thing about Mike is that very early in his junior hockey days, Corrigan played a little goalie. The first most interesting thing about Mike is his face in this photo.2. Our second inductee comes from a former TSN employee only known as "Producer Tim". Its a classic, featuring Pavel Bure, roller blades and casual pose near the beach. All those elements give you instant access into the Hockey Card Hall of Fame.3. Next up, Martin Brodeur. This may be the perfect draft shot. Not only is his haircut fresh (and square) but his wispy moustache made him a Hall Of Famer before he even played a game in the NHL 4. Our fourth inductee is the infamous Eric Lindros. We know that Eric was a great athlete in his prime, we didnt know that it also included water sports. His excellent pose + wave + the life jacket and the frosted tips = Hockey Card Hall Of Famer 5. Our final induction goes to a man who never played in the NHL but still was named celebrity captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins and got his own hockey card. The legendary Mr. Rogers and theres even a video of him accepting a cardigan with a C and skating out in Melon Arena to address the crowd. He is a true Hall of Famer. It was the 1991 Pens home opener. Lake Buena Vista, FL (SportsNetwork. Ed Oliver Youth Jersey .com) - If Thursday was any preview of who will win the Heisman Trophy, Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota should feel pretty good about his chances. Hopefully he has a large trophy case, too. Mariota, a Heisman finalist along with Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper and Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon, was the recipient of the Davey OBrien Award as well as the Walter Camp Award and Maxwell Award. The OBrien Award winner, recognized as the nations top quarterback, has gone on to win the Heisman Trophy in four straight seasons, including seven of the last eight. Mariota, a redshirt junior, joins UCLAs Troy Aikman as the only Pac-12 quarterbacks to win the award. The Maxwell Award is presented by the Maxwell Football Club for the College Player of the Year, while the Camp Award is given to the Player of the Year decided by a panel of NCAA head coaches. Mariota is the most prolific quarterback in Oregon history and has tallied 35 wins in his three seasons as the starter, including a spot in the national semifinal against Florida State in the inaugural College Football Playoffs on Jan. 1. He has passed for 3,773 yards and 38 touchdowns this season with 669 yards rushing and another 14 scores. Only six quarterbacks have won the Heisman Trophy along with those three awards, and the last three to win the Maxwell have not been honored for College Footballs ultimate prize. Arizonas Scooby Wright III had a good amount of success as well, receiving the Chuck Bednarik Award on Thursday along with the Nagurski Award and Lombardi Award earlier in the week. The Bednarik Award, also presented by the Maxwell Club, is given to the Defensive Player of the Year, while the Nagurski also honors defensive excellence and the Lombardi is given to the nations top linebacker or lineman. Wright recorded 153 tackles -- 28.0 tackles for a loss -- and added 14 sacks and six forced fumbles in 13 games for the Wildcats this season. The sophomore was the only FBS player to rank in the top-25 in each of those categories. Cooper was honored as the nations top wide receiver, winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award. Cooper, a junior, had an SEC-record 115 catches for a national-best 1,656 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 games this season. He had more than 200 yards in three games this season. Cooper is the first Alabama player and second SEC receiver to win the award, joining LSUs Josh Reed in 2001. Gordon was recognized as the Doak Walker Award winner, given to the nations top running back. Gordon finished the regular season with an FBS-leading 2,336 rushing yards, the fourth-best total all-time, and added 26 touchdowns on 309 carries. He set an FBS record with 408 rushing yards against Nebraska last month, but the mark was broken a week later by Oklahoma freshman Samaje Perine. Louisvilles Gerod Holliman was named the winner of the Jim Thorpe Award, given to the nations top defensive back. Holliman recorded an FBS-best and NCAA single-season record of 14 interceptions this season to go along with 37 tackles. He helped Louisville rank sixth in total defense, allowing only 293 yards per game. Holliman, who returned one of his interceptions for a touchdown, is the first Louisville player to win the award. Iowas Brandon Scherff won the Outland Trophy as the nations top interior lineman. Scherff is the fourth Hawkeye to win the award and fourth offensive lineman in the last five years. Maryland kicker Brad Craddock took home the Lou Groza Award, while Utah punter was honored as the Ray Guy Award recipient. Craddock, the first Terrapin to win the award and just third kicker in Big 10 history, went 18-of-19 on his field goal tries. Hackett, the first Pac-12 punter to win the award, averaged 47.0 yards on 77 punts this season. Matt Milano Bills Jersey . NEW YORK -- At least the New York Knicks can say they won a city championship. [url=http://www.wholesalelionsjerseys.com/?tag=yo

NEW YORK -- At least the New York Knicks can say they won a city championship. Zach Zenner Jersey . Only the Brooklyn Nets have a chance to compete for a real one -- though theyd better play a lot better than this. Tim Hardaway Jr. scored 16 points and the Knicks, playing without the injured Carmelo Anthony, beat the Nets 109-98 on Tuesday night to win the season series between city rivals. And in an otherwise massively disappointing season, apparently local bragging rights do matter. "Hell yeah," Knicks guard J.R. Smith said. "I mean, Im cool with some of those guys over there, so I can still say something when were in the gym this summer. As long as I can say they didnt beat us that many times, were good." The Knicks prevented the Nets from clinching the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs and won their third straight in their too-little, too-late strong finish. Amare Stoudemire and Smith each added 14 points. Anthony had an MRI exam Tuesday that revealed a torn labrum in his right shoulder. He wont play Wednesday against Toronto, the final game of the first season in his 11-year career that wont end with a playoff berth -- and potentially his last as a member of the Knicks. He has said he will become a free agent in July. Marcus Thornton scored 24 points for the Nets, who werent sharp despite playing starters Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. The other starter, Shaun Livingston, remained sidelined with a sprained right big toe. The Nets still have a magic number of one for finishing fifth. But they could fall to No. 6 if they lose Wednesday in Cleveland and Washington beats Boston. "Tonight was an example of how not to take a step forward. We were off our game offensively, defensively, all phases of the game and thats not how you want to go into the playoffs," Pierce said. The Knicks would be in the playoffs themselves if they played against everyone else the way they did against the Nets while winning three romps. All four games were on national TV, though none was really worth watching after halftime. The Knicks won a pair of routs, 113-83 at Barclays Center in December and 110-81 at Madison Square Garden two weeks ago. The Nets won by 23 in their lone victory. The overhyped city series didnt live up to preseason expectations, much like the Knicks. Players from both sides had sparred in the press during the summer after the Nets made their big off-season moves, expecting to battle to be the best in New York and also the Atlantic Division. Well, the division champion isnt from New York -- or even the U.S. Toronto finished ahead of both teams. The Knicks have defeated the Raptors, Bulls and Nets, currently the Easts Nos. 3-5 seeds, in their last three games, and coach Mike Woodson said it was "irritating" that his team would be watching the playoffs from home. "If we had handled our business early on and didnt let some of the close games get away, we probably wouldnt be standing here. Wed probably be preparing for playoff basketball, but thats not the case," Woodson said. "We put ourselves in this hole and were going to have to live with it this summer and then try to figure it out next season." The Knicks led 29-18 after one and the game got fun midway through the second quarter. Stoudemire had a powerful follow dunk over Mason Plumlee, screaming into the rookies ear afterward. Plumlee responded in the best way possible, dunking on the Nets next two possessions. Plumlee finished with 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds. But Brooklyn never really got into the game, and the only real interest in the second half were some occasional dueling chants between the split crowd. A "Goodbye Melo!" chant from a section of Nets fans was soon followed by a loud "Lets go Knicks!" NOTES: The Nets wore their Brooklyn Dodgers-inspired grey uniforms on Jackie Robinson Day. He debuted for the Dodgers as the first black player in the major leagues on this date in 1947. ... Pierce became the sixth player in NBA history to score 1,000 points in 15 straight seasons, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (19), Karl Malone (1, John Havlicek (16), Elvin Hayes (15) and Robert Parish (15). ... Mirza Teletovics wife gave birth to twins earlier Tuesday and the Nets reserve forward also will miss Wednesdays game. Devon Kennard Jersey . Orlov, who scored two goals in the game, was assessed a major penalty for boarding on the play. The Flyers scored once on the power play and again with the extra attacker with 65 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. Christian Jones Jersey .Johnny there, who knew he had that speed? teammate Tommy Wingels said.Scott and Matt Irwin were unlikely goal-scorers Tuesday night as the previously stingy San Jose Sharks finally sprung a leak or two, blowing a pair of three-goal leads before coming away with a 6-5 shootout victory over the Washington Capitals. http://www.wholesalelionsjerseys.com/?tag=youth-rashaan-melvin-jersey . The rookie is rewarding their faith with a stellar first season. MacKinnon had a goal and two assists, Jamie McGinn had two goals and an assist, and Colorado beat the Buffalo Sabres 7-1 on Saturday. DENVER -- David Lees season came to a painful end the last time he played in Denver. He put that memory to rest in his return. Lee had 28 points and 10 rebounds for his ninth straight double-double, leading the Golden State Warriors past the Denver Nuggets 89-81 on Monday night. Stephen Curry, battling foul trouble much of the night, added 14 points in the first meeting between the teams since the Warriors, as the sixth seed, ousted third-seeded Denver 4-2 in the first round of the playoffs last spring. Lee tore his right hip flexor in the fourth quarter of the first playoff game, missing the rest of the Warriors post-season run. "The last time I played in this building wasnt the greatest result," Lee said. "I got injured, so I wanted to come out tonight, put that behind me and attack the basket early, get any thoughts of that kind of stuff out of the way. I had some success early and I just tried to be consistent throughout the game." Klay Thompson scored eight of his 13 points in the fourth quarter, helping Golden State overcome a fourth-quarter deficit for the fourth time this season and sending the Nuggets to their season-high fourth consecutive loss. The Warriors also got a strong game from Andre Iguodala, a former Nugget who hit a key 3-pointer late in the game and finished with 12 points while shrugging off the constant boos from the crowd. "It wasnt that bad," he said. "Its just our day and age in sports. Theres so many transactions, and fans are so into it now with the media, being so close to the game, you see it a lot more." For all the noise and attention over his return, it was the game that Lee put together in his first game back in Denver that made the difference for the Warriors, Iguodala said. "He went to work for us early to get us our lead and when we hit a little bit of a drought, we went back to him and he kind of got us out of it," Iguodala said. "Hes been doing a great job of wracking up those double doubles and being a go-to guy." Ty Lawson had 16 points to lead Denver, which was outscored 25-15 in the final period. Andre Miller and Timofey Mozgov had 14 poiints apiece. Tyrell Crosby Jersey. "We didnt have a good game," Miller said. "We havent had a good month. We need better practices. We need to get better when we come back from Christmas. It is always frustrating when you are struggling." Mozgov also had 11 rebounds while starting in place of injured of Kenneth Faried, who was held out of the game to rest a sprained ankle. The Nuggets used a 10-run, capped by successive 3-pointers by Lawson and Wilson Chandler to go in front 55-52 midway through the third quarter for their first lead of the game. Nate Robinsons stepback jumper gave Denver a 64-62 lead going into the fourth quarter, and the game remained tight throughout the period. After Miller made one of two free throws pulling the Nuggets to within 80-78, Iguodala, a former Nugget, drained a 3-pointer to give the Warriors a five-point edge with 3:19 remaining. Miller made a jumper for Denver with 2:24 left and the teams traded turnovers before Chandlers attempt at a game-tying 3 with 42 seconds left to play hit the rim and bounced away. The Warriors responded with a turnaround jumper by Thompson to help seal the win with 22.6 seconds remaining. "I dont think we are playing with the confidence and the sense of urgency it takes to win," Miller said. "We have to figure out the way to get our confidence back and share the ball a little better." The Warriors led by as many as 15 points in the first quarter but settled for a 47-43 halftime lead, getting consecutive baskets by Lee in the last minute of the second period after the Nuggets evened the score on a driving dunk by Mozgov. Golden State had a 30-point first quarter but had barely half that in the second, when the Warriors were held to 17 points. It was their lowest scoring second quarter since being held to 13 against San Antonio on Nov. 8. NOTES: Mozgov has three double doubles this season. ... The Warriors missed their first eight free throws of the game before Lee connected on a pair with 1:09 left in the third quarter. ... Andrew Bogut had 11 rebounds to go with his four points.
