Opposites will attract when the second-seeded Oregon Ducks kickoff against the fourth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes in the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship game tonight. Nike Air Max 90 Baratas España . The winner of this matchup will become the least questioned national champion in the history of NCAA football and first to win after a four-team playoff. The National Championship had previously been decided between two teams with the highest BCS ranking. You can catch the game live on TSN1, TSN3, TSN4, TSN5, TSN GO and the TSN Radio Network, beginning with the pregame show underway now. You can also catch bonus Spider Cam and Command Centre cameras on TSN GO beginning at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt. Command Centre will provide enhanced statistics utilizing a split screen application with live game action and immediate replays of every play. On one side of the field will be the Ducks, a team led by college football’s best player in 2014, quarterback Marcus Mariota, and in search of their first national title. Standing in their way is Ohio State, winners of four previous national titles, but entering this year’s championship behind a quarterback starting just his third-career game. Oregon defeated 2013 Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles 59-20 on New Year’s Day to set up their date in the final, while Ohio State recovered from a 21-6 second-quarter deficit to stun the top-seeded Alabama Crimson Tide 42-35 in the Sugar Bowl. With their Sugar Bowl win, the Buckeyes silenced their many doubters and proved they deserved to be in the inaugural playoff. Alabama proved to be just the latest obstacle in the unlikely championship run for the Big Ten champions. The Buckeyes, who entered the year as a favourite to reach the playoff, seemed to have their hopes diminished with the loss of starting quarterback Braxton Miller to a shoulder injury prior to the season. However, redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett emerged as a star in Urban Meyer’s offence and managed to keep the Buckeyes in contention for a national title. Barrett struggled in Ohio State’s lone loss of the season – 35-21 to unranked Virginia Tech – but recovered to march the Buckeyes from their 22nd-ranking after the loss to sixth entering the final week of the regular season. Against Michigan in that final week, Barrrett ran for two touchdowns and threw for another as he continued to electrify fans with his play. That is, until disaster struck Ohio State again. While scrambling in the third quarter, Barrett suffered a broken ankle, ending his breakout season. Third-string quarterback Cardale Jones entered in his place and the Buckeyes used a run-heavy approach to close out the Wolverines. Like Barrett, Jones also presents a rushing risk for defences. Jones has averaged 5.1 yards per carry on 51 runs this season. He has yet to rush for a touchdown. Jones made his first career start one week later in the Big Ten Championship Game against Wisconsin and threw three touchdowns as the Buckeyes won in a 59-0 rout. Jones had 257 yards through the air and received help from running back Ezekiel Elliott, who rushed for 220 yards as the Buckeyes’ win allowed them to jump past TCU for the fourth, and final, playoff spot. Jones’s second career start proved to be a tougher matchup against the Crimson Tide, but the redshirt sophomore passed for 243 yards with a touchdown and interception as the Buckeyes earned the upset win. Elliott again played a key role, adding a Sugar Bowl-record 230 yards rushing with two touchdowns. In his third time out, Jones will be in the spotlight once again as Ohio State tries for their fifth National Championship in school history. Meyer will look to give Jones as much help as possible as he looks for his first title since joining Ohio State in 2012, but neither Jones nor Elliott figures to have an easy matchup against the Ducks defence. Oregon has held opponents to 20 points or fewer in four-straight contests. For Oregon, there are no questions at quarterback with Heisman winner Mariota under centre. The redshirt junior has thrown for over 4,100 yards with 40 touchdowns this season, while adding another 15 scores on the ground. Mariota, the unquestioned MVP and leader of Oregon, threw for over 300 yards against Florida State and added three total touchdowns to make up for throwing just his third interception of the year in the win over the defending champions of a year ago. Mariota’s dual-threat ability caused headaches for opposing defences throughout the season, while he compiled over 700 yards on the ground. Not surprisingly, Oregon’s lone loss came as Mariota put up his lowest yardage total of the year. Mariota will be without two of his top receivers in the national championship in Darren Carrington and Devon Allen. Carrington has been suspended for a failed drug test, while Allen suffered a knee injury in the Rose Bowl. In early October, Arizona stunned the Ducks with an upset 31-24 victory, while holding Mariota to just one rushing yard on nine tries. Playing behind three backups in his offensive line, Mariota was unable to lead a game-tying drive after Arizona took the lead with just under three minutes left. With the loss, the Ducks dropped from second to 12th in the AP rankings. Yet, Oregon recovered to reel off eight-straight wins to enter the College Football Playoff as the second seed. That run included a 51-13 rout of Arizona in the Pac-12 Championship Game as Mariota put the final touch on his Heisman year with a five-touchdown performance. Mariota, the likely top pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, will now try to become the seventh Heisman winner since 1996 - and second straight - to win the national championship in his trophy season. He will also be looking to – likely – end his Oregon career with his 36th win as the school’s starter. Mariota has lost just four games in three seasons with the Ducks. Trying to make his history of his own with Ohio State, will be Meyer. The former University of Florida head coach is looking to become the second coach in history to win a National Championship with two separate schools. In that category, Meyer is looking to join Alabama head coach Nick Saban, who he defeated in the Sugar Bowl. Saban won the National Championship with LSU before winning three more titles with Alabama. Meyer coached the Gators to national titles in both 2006 and 2008. He debuted with Ohio State in 2012. Not surprisingly given the quarterback situation of each team, Oregon enters this matchup as six-point favourites. Being underdogs is, of course, a trend of late for the Buckeyes, who will look for their third-straight upset win with Jones at quarterback. The two schools have met on eight previous occasions with Ohio State sweeping the series to date. As a 5-foot-6 point guard, decorated WNBA veteran Becky Hammon has never had the experience of shattering a backboard with a dunk. Adidas Neo Shoes Online . Shes busting through the glass ceiling instead. The San Antonio Spurs hired Hammon as an assistant coach on Tuesday, making her the first full-time, paid female assistant on an NBA coaching staff. When Hammon retires from her 16-year WNBA career at the end of the San Antonio Stars season, she will immediately move to the staff of the defending NBA champions, working with the revered Gregg Popovich on scouting, game-planning and the day-to-day grind of practice like no woman has ever done before. "Nothing in my life has really ever been easy. Ive always been someone who did it uphill," Hammon said. "Im up for challenges. Im up for being outside the box, making tough decisions and challenges. ... And Im a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. Throw those all in there and this was the perfect challenge and opportunity." That makes her fit right in with the Spurs, an organization with a reputation for bold decisions. Popovich and general manager R.C. Buford have long been at the forefront of the leagues international influx and earlier this summer hired European coaching legend Ettore Messina as an assistant. During the 2001-02 season, Cleveland Cavaliers coach John Lucas brought Lisa Boyer into the teams practices and some games. Boyer, now an assistant at South Carolina, was not paid by the Cavaliers and did not travel with the team, but did work with the players and coaches that season. "I very much look forward to the addition of Becky Hammon to our staff," Popovich said in a statement released by the team. "Having observed her working with our team this past season, Im confident her basketball IQ, work ethic and interpersonal skills will be a great benefit to the Spurs." But Popovich and Buford were not available in person and Hammon had the spotlight entirely to herself. "Congratulations to Becky on todays announcement," Boyer said in a statement. "Its a great thing for her and for the NBA. I am still so thankful to John Lucas for giving me the opportunity to work with his NBA team during my time with the Cleveland Rockers. His staff and players welcomed me as a coach, and it was an incredible experience for me to spend that season with them." Last season, Hammon attended Spurs practices, film sessions and sat behind the bench at home game after suffering a torn ACL that kept her from playing. Shes been friends with Tony Parker and Tim Duncan since competing in an NBA All-Star shooting competition in 2008, a familiarity that will help as she makes her transition to coaching the two stars. "As far as women coaching men, its really silly. People ask me all the time, will there ever be a woman player in the NBA?" Hammon said. "To be honest, no. There are differences. The guys are too big, too strong and thats just the way it is. "But when it comes to things of the mind, things like coaching, game-planning, coming up with offensive and defensive schemes, theres no reason why a woman couldnt be in the mix and shouldnt be in the mix." Its been a long time coming for female basketball players and coaches who have long dreamed of getting a chance in the NBA. "I was so excited and pleased and the one thing that people have to remember is that the San Antonio Spurs dont do anything for effect," said Nancy Lieberman, a former star player who was a head coach in the NBA Development League in 2009 and now serves as the GM of the Texas Legends. "Thats not who they are. They dont do this for the record-breaking barrier. They do things out of respect. "And the fact that coach Popovich has this much respect for Beckys basketball IQ, for how she handles herself with the guys in practice, her ability to relate to them, Im sure he saw so much when she was working with them last fall. Im sure he didnt hire her because she was a woman. Im sure he hired her because she was the best person for the job." "This will open the door for other women, even like myself," Lieberman added. "My goal is to coach in the NBA and youve got to start somewhere. So this is a great day." Charlotte Hornets sideline reporter Stephanie Ready, who served as an assistant on the Coppin State mens team as well as in the D-League, called Popovich the perfect person to hire Hammon "because hes proven he has a tremendous track record and he does not make bad decisions." "Thats the first step, having the precedent set is very important," Ready said. "A lot of it also is now women will know these jobs are available. In the past, a lot of women probably didnt try because they didnt think it was possible. I think you may very well see an increase in seeing some females hired." Hammon has a reputation of being a smart, hard-nosed, tough-minded player. She made six All-Star teams and averaged 13.1 points in her 16 seasons with the Stars and New York Liberty. Hammon was receiving congratulatory messages from all over, including from Lieberman, Boyer and Lakers star Kobe Bryant. "I love seeing people Ive been involved with have an opportunity in life to have these types of experiences," said Stars coach Dan Hughes, who has coached Hammon for eight years. "This one is unique. Shes ready for it, shell do a great job." Even tennis great Billie Jean King weighed in on the hire, congratulating the Spurs for acquiring "a key person based on their qualifications and not allowing gender to play a role in their decision." But like it was only a matter of time before a woman got a chance to coach in the NBA, its also only a matter of time before said coach finds herself in Popovichs crosshairs. "Im sure Pop will be yelling at me soon enough," Hammon said, "with the rest of them." Mint/Black/Rose Adidas Springblade 3 Mens/Womens Running Shoes . The Washington Wizards squandered an 11-point lead in the fourth quarter and eventually lost in overtime to the lowly Sacramento Kings. Isaiah Thomas had his first career triple double with 24 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists to help the Kings beat the Wizards 117-111 in overtime on Tuesday night. DeMarcus Cousins and Rudy Gay each added 24 points for the Kings, who rallied in the fourth to send the game into overtime and simply outplayed the Wizard in the extra period to snap a two-game losing streak. Veteran centre Marcin Gortat felt the Wizards let up late in regulation and it cost them a victory. "We were up five points (with 24 seconds left) and celebrating like we had already won the game," said Gortat, who had a physical battle all game with Cousins, the Kings highly aggressive young centre. "We loosened up way too much. We got punished for being too cocky." It was a rare loss for the Wizards, who had won 10 of 13 games before falling to the Kings for the fourth straight time at Sleep Train Arena. After being quiet through three quarters, it was Gay and Cousins delivering big time for the Kings in both the fourth period and overtime. Cousins, who finished with 14 rebounds, had 12 points in the fourth quarter and opened the overtime with two quick baskets and finished with seven points in OT. Gay made numerous clutch shots late in the game and continued that trend in the fourth quarter. He had 10 points in the fourth and six more in overtime. "To turn it around, go up by 11 points and give the game away, it hurts," said Drew Gooden, who scored 18 points in a reserve role. "They executed down the stretch and we couldnt get any rebounds. DeMarcus Cousins is a load." Bradley Beal had 19 points and Gortat also had 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Wizards. They had won six of their previous seven road games. John Wall had 14 before fouling out in overtime. The loss prevented Washington from moving within a game of Chicago, which has the fourth best record in the Eastern Conference. The Wizards (35-32) drop to sixth in tthe East, one percentage point behind Brooklyn (34-31). Mens/Womens Adidas Extaball Shoes High Top Leather White/Black. . "Give (Washington coach) Randy Wittman and that team a lot of credit. They are one of the surprising teams in the Eastern Conference and they are trying to get a home-court advantage in the first round," Kings coach Michael Malone said. Gay broke a tie with a jumper and Thomas made a pair of free throws to give Sacramento a 115-111 lead with 13 seconds left. Thomas clinched the victory with two free throws in the closing seconds. Thomas, a 5-foot-9 guard who was a second-round draft pick three years ago, became the Kings starting point guard early this season and has responded by scoring 20 or more points 42 times this season. The triple-double was the first for Sacramento since Cousins had had one against New York on Dec. 28, 2012. "That was big and its great for Isaiah," Gay said. "Im proud of him for the fact that he effected the game in every successful category today. Size doesnt matter. He plays with fire." Trailing by five points in overtime, Ariza hit a 3, Wall converted on a fastbreak layup and Beal made a 3-pointer, giving Washington a 109-107 lead. But consecutive baskets by Cousins and Gay put the Kings ahead by two with 1:01 left. Beal made both free throws to put the Wizards in front 100-95. But a Thomas three and a running shot along the baseline by Gay tied the game at 100 with 5.6 seconds remaining. Beal missed a jumper in the final seconds. Washington started the fourth quarter with eight straight points to take an 81-70 lead. Cousins helped bring the Kings back, scoring eight consecutive points, the final two on a dunk that cut the Washington lead to 86-81 midway through the fourth. NOTES: The Washington starters shot 5 of 20 in the opening quarter and the Wizards trailed 30-19. ... Prior the game, the Kings signed Royce White to a second 10-day contact. He was not activated for the game. White, who was drafted by Houston in 2012, has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and has never played an NBA game. ... Colorados seniors – Jaromie Iginla and Alex Tanguay each had three points in Saturdays 5-1 win at Buffalo. Iginla now has 11 points (5 G, 6 A) in the past dozen games and Tanguay has been even more productive, with 13 points (5 G, 8 A) in his past dozen games. Tanguay and Iginla have moved into the top two spots on the Colorado scoring chart, with a relatively-modest 22 and 21 points, respectively. Mark Fayne – The Edmonton defenceman played more than 23 minutes against Dallas Sunday, but was thumped in possession (5 shot attempts for, 34 against, 12.8%). Fayne has had a somewhat difficult transition to Edmonton, going from a 55% Corsi performer in New Jersey last year to 49% with the Oilers this year. Goalies: Ilya Bryzgalov – The Ducks goaltender allowed six goals on 31 shots at Ottawa Friday. Jonathan Bernier – Toronto’s number one between the pipes surrendered seven goals on 41 shots against Philadelphia Saturday. Darcy Kuemper – Minnesota’s puck-stopper gave up three goals on 14 shots in Saturday’s 6-5 overtime loss to Nashville. Pekka Rinne – Quite possibly the frontrunner for the Vezina Trophy, the Predators goalie allowed five goals on 27 shots in 6-5 win at Minnesota Saturday. Kari Lehtonen – Dallas’ starter was yanked from the cage after allowing four goals on 19 shots against Edmonton Sunday. LINEUP NEED TO KNOW James Neal – Nashville’s top-line right winger missed Saturday’s win over Minnesota due to illness, though it’s reportedly not the mumps. Craig Smith replaced Neal on the top line and had a goal and an assist while playing a season-high 18:44. Jimmy Howard – Detroit’s starting goaltender suffered a lower-body injury Friday against the Islanders. With Jonas Gustavsson already out, Petr Mrazek will start in Howard’s absence and Thomas McCollum was recalled to fill the backup role. Mikael Granlund – The Minnesota Wild pivot missed Saturday’s game against Nashville due to illness. Charlie Coyle moved up to play with Zach Parise and Thomas Vanek, and registered a pair of assists in a season-high 19:43. Matt Cooke – Minnesota’s veteran checking winger returned to action Saturday against Nashville, playing his first game since being sidelined by a lower-body injury in late October. Brad Richards – The veteran Blackhawks centre missed Sunday’s game against Toronto with an upper-body injury. For a bit of a twist, the Blackhawks put Patrick Sharp at centre with Patrick Kane and Kris Versteeg, and Sharp responded with three assists. Derick Brassard – Returned to action for both of the Rangers’ games against Carolina on the weekend, after missing a week with the mumps. Jonathan Drouin – The Tampa Bay rookie has seen his ice time increasing, playing a season-high 21:15 at New Jersey Friday, skating most frequently on the top line with Steven Stamkos and Ryan Callahan. Ondrej Palat – Returned to the Lightning lineup Friday after missing 10 days with a lower-body injury. Radko Gudas – Tampa Bay’s bruising blueliner returned to the lineup Friday after missing eight days with a lower-body injury. Grant Clitsome – On the depleted Winnipeg blueline, Played 24:43 against Boston Friday, then 20:19 against Philadelphia Sunday. Considering that Clitsome averaged 19:47 per game last season, and is at 15:09 per game this season, he’s a logical candidate to take on a bigger role while the Jets’ defence is overrun by injuries. Chris Kunitz – Returned to the Penguins’ lineup Saturday after missing three weeks with a broken foot. Patrick Bordeleau – The Colorado tough guy, recovered from a back injury, got into the Avs lineup for the first time this season during Saturday’s win at Buffalo. Rasmus Ristolainen – The second-year Sabres defenceman played a career-high 27:01 Saturday against Colorado, then followed up by playing 26:46 at Boston Sunday. Ristolainen has also contributed three points (2 G, 1 A) in the past four games. Tyler Myers – The main reason Ristolainen saw the increased workload is that Myers suffered a lower-body injury and was forced to leave early Saturday. Mark Barberio – The Lightning blueliner skated in a career-high 22:29, in his 63rd career game, at the Islanders Saturday, due to Jason Garrison leaving early with an undisclosed injury. Jannik Hansen – The Canucks winger collapsed on the bench during Saturday’s 3-2 overtime win vs. Calgary, though appears to be fine since the incident. Brian Gionta – The Sabres captain left Sunday’s game against Boston early after a questionable hit from Bruins D Matt Bartkowski. Anton Lander – The perennial Oilers prospect was promoted again and had a team-leading six shots on goal in 16:39 against Dallas, then was sent right back to Oklahoma City of the AHL, where he has 27 points (8 G, 19 A) in 26 games this season. Jets G Michael Hutchinson stopped 30 of 31 shots for a 2-1 win over Boston Friday, lifting his save percentage to a league-leading .940…Avalanche G Calvin Pickard turned back 62 of 64 shots in weekend wins over Buffalo and Detroit, raising his save percentage to .939…Lightning G Andrei Vasilevsky had 45 saves on 47 shots in Saturday’s 3-1 loss at the Islanders…Capitals G Braden Holtby had a 21-save shutout at New Jersey Saturday. He has a .927 save percentage in December (after .907 and .913 in the first two months of the season)…Blackhawks G Antti Raanta stopped all 31 shots he faced in Sunday’s 4-0 win over Toronto. FIRSTS Derrick Pouliot – Pittsburgh’s highly-touted rookie blueliner, the eighth overall pick in 2012, scored his first NHL goal, on his first NHL shot, against Florida Saturday. With Christian Ehrhoff and Paul Martin hurt, Pouliot finally has an opportunity to show his stuff. Keith Kinkaid – New Jersey’s backup goalie stopped 26 of 28 shots against Tampa Bay Friday for the first win of his career. Johan Larsson – The Buffalo left winger scored his first career goal, in his 34th game, during Saturday’s 5-1 loss to Colorado. Tim Schaller – Buffalo’s rookie centre scored his first NHL goal, in his third NHL game, in Sunday’s 4-3 loss at Boston. Rob Zepp – Philadelphia’s 33-year-old goaltender made his NHL debut and allowed three goals on 28 shots, good enough to secure the win in a 4-3 overtime win at Winnipeg. A fourth-round pick in 1999 (Atlanta) and 2001 (Carolina), Zepp has been bouncing around in places where reaching the NHL is more than a little unexpected. Zepp spent the previous seven seasons playing in Germany, two more in Finland and logged a total of seven AHL games (and 115 ECHL games) prior to this season. FANTASY FOCUS With a half dozen games on tap tonight, here are some players to consider for your lineup: Mike Fisher – After taking a few games to get rid of the rust as he recovered from his summer Achilles injury, Fisher has six points (2 G, 4 A) in the past seven games. Nick Spaling –Spaling has six points (2 G, 4 A) in the past six games, though the return of Chris Kunitz does bump Spaling off Sidney Crosby’s wing, and thats kind of a big deal. Mike Hoffman – The Senators’ leading goal-scorer, with 10, is skating on a productive line with Mika Zibanejad (recommend him too) and Bobby Ryan. The Kamloops, B.C., native added eight rebounds while Kyryl Natyazkho recorded 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Ukraine. "We played very good D for 38 minutes and even though our offence struggled, our D gave us the lead," said Canadian head coach Jay Triano.South Bend, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Jerian Grant totaled 24 points and six assists as No. 14 Notre Dame outlasted Georgia Tech, 83-76, in double overtime on Saturday. Steve Vasturia had 17 points and six rebounds for the Fighting Irish (14-1, 2-0 ACC), while Zach Auguste added 13, Demetrius Jackson picked up 11 and Pat Connaughton poured in 10 points and eight boards. Marcus Georges-Hunt led the way with 20 points and eight rebounds for the Yellow Jackets (9-4, 0-1). Charles Mitchell posted 14 points and 12 boards in defeat. It was a heck of a college basketball game, Georgia Tech head coach Brian Gregory said. The only disappointment is we didnt finish as well as we needed to finish in this league around the basket. You cant fault our effort; you cant fault our competitiveness. It was a heck of a game and they figured out a way to win the game. Grants free throw with 25 seconds left in regulation forged a 59-59 deadlock, but Georges-Hunt had his last-second layup try blocked by Auguste. In the first extra session, a Vasturia triple gave the hosts a 67-61 edge, but the visitors fought back for another tie on a Demarco Cox tip-in with 10 seconds left. Grant and Auguste both missed relatively easy chances to send the contest into its fourth period. Augustes bucket early in the second OT provided a 78-71 margin for Notre Dame, but this time the Irish clamped down, aided by poor Yellow Jacket shooting. Paul Goldschmidt Jersey. Between Grant splitting a pair at the line with 1:18 left and Vasturias two free throws with 42 seconds remaining, Georges-Hunt missed two shots and a three along with a Robert Sampson miss. Georgia Tech dominated early, scoring 13 of the games first 15 points, and it led by 27-17 until a late Notre Dame surge pulled the hosts within 31-27 at halftime. Georges-Hunt sank two free throws and the Yellow Jackets led 43-35, then the Irish began to slowly chip away. They led for the first time in the game at 47-46 with 9:12 left on a Connaughton dunk, and were up 56-52 with 4:25 showing once Grant completed a three-point play. It was hard to get into a flow offensively and youve got to give credit to Georgia Tech, they really physically and athletically guarded us, Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. Game Notes Notre Dame shot 8-of-14 from the field in the two overtimes, while Georgia Tech made only 7-of-19 field goals ... Chris Bolden also totaled 14 points for the Yellow Jackets ... The Irish, who have won 10 in a row since their lone loss to Providence, heads to Chapel Hill on Monday night ... Georgia Tech hosts Syracuse on Wednesday. Seattle Seahawks superstar Richard Sherman, widely considered to be the leagues top cornerback, is carrying his war of words with Michael Crabtree into the off-season.BARCELONA, Spain - There are some very real problems at Barcelona, and the firing of the clubs sports director this week is the latest signal that the once almighty team has entered into meltdown. While many neutral soccer fans have enjoyed watching Lionel Messi and his teammates win again and again, there are plenty in Barcelona still longing for the days when Pep Guardiola led the team to 14 of a possible 19 titles in a four-year span. Not to mention a good deal of envy for Real Madrids 10th European Cup victory last year and its Spanish record 22-match winning streak to end 2014.The sense of impending doom that has settled over Camp Nou since the firing of Andoni Zubizarreta on Monday had been festering for more than a year, and it finally came to a head last week when the Court of Arbitration for Sport rejected Barcelonas appeal against FIFAs one-year transfer ban for violating rules regarding the registration of youth players.Until then, the club had insisted — and many of its fans had believed — that they would win their case and the harsh penalty would never be applied. Now the reality of a season with no new players for an aging squad is settling in.Barcelonas faithful will have their chance to express themselves at home matches against Elche in the Copa del Rey on Thursday before Sundays meeting with defending league champion Atletico Madrid. Many disgruntled supporters will have their handkerchiefs handy in case the team loses. They could demand president Josep Bartomeu calls for early elections instead of seeing out his mandate until 2016.Barcelona greats Johan Cruyff and Hristo Stoichkov have already lamented the state of their former club.I believe Barcelona is heading toward chaos, Stoichkov said Tuesday. There are too many controversies. I dont understand it.On the field, the team has continued to churn out wins against minor opponents and can still challenge for titles. That steady stream of lopsided scorelines and Messi goal records — this season he has broken both the Spanish and Champions League scoring marks — covers up the clubs biggeest failure: its incapacity to keep top talent both on and off the field. Cheap NFL Jerseys. First, Guardiola left the club in 2012. President Sandro Rosell resigned last year, and top players Carles Puyol, Eric Abidal and Cesc Fabregas have not been replaced. The most perplexing part of Barcelonas decline is that most of the blows have been self-inflicted by the myriad of legal cases plaguing the club. Besides the FIFA ban that has damaged the reputation of its once lauded football academy, Rosell left amid a lawsuit into the transfer of Neymar, while Messi is mired in a tax fraud case.Messi, so far, is holding Barcelona together, but there has been a breakout of Messi-mania recently because of reports the clubs all-time leading scorer is not happy with coach Luis Enrique. The arrival of Luis Enrique — the clubs fourth coach in as many seasons — was labeled as a return to the Guardiola model of a player coming home. But his erratic lineup choices, which included resting Messi and Neymar for the first half in Sundays 1-0 loss at Real Sociedad that cost Barcelona the provisional league lead, have erased any comparisons other than unfavourable ones with Guardiola. Now, the transfer ban until 2016 means that the clubs institutional crisis has finally spilled over to become a sporting disaster as well.Zubizarretas latest batch of reinforcements from last year have not panned out. Even if Luis Suarez recovers his scoring prowess after one goal in nine league games, Barcelona has slipped in midfield and defence. Ivan Rakitic and Rafina are no Fabregas; Jeremy Mathieu and Thomas Vermaelen (still to debut because of injuries) are far from the second comings of Puyol and Abidal.Mainstays Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta are showing their age at 34 and 30, respectively. Gerard Pique is not the dominant defender he was, and Dani Alves contract is up at the end of the season, pointing to his exit.As Sergio Busquets has said, football evolves. Its impossible for things to stay the same, the Spain midfielder said in November. Seattle, WA - The Seattle Mariners activated first baseman/outfielder Logan Morrison from the 15-day disabled list prior to Wednesdays game against the New York Yankees. Nice Kicks x Adidas Nmd Runner . To clear a roster spot for Morrison, the Mariners placed first baseman Justin Smoak on the 15-day DL. The 26-year-old Morrison, obtained in a trade with Miami over the winter, was 3-for-20 in eight games for the Mariners prior to his hamstring injury, which surfaced prior to an April 14 game at Texas. Smoak, who is dealing with a strained left quad, is batting .208 with 12 doubles, seven homers and 29 RBI in 63 games this season. Atletico Madrid also stayed perfect thanks to goals by Diego Costa in a 2-1 win against Osasuna, giving it 18 points, although Barcelona stay top with its better goal differential.Having just snapped their longest losing streak in 20 years, the Boston Red Sox will try to make it two in a row Tuesday night when they resume their home-and-away series with the Atlanta Braves. Watch the game live on TSN2 and TSN GO at 7pm et/4pm pt. The teams will finish off a two-game set at Turner Field Tuesday night, then head to Fenway Park for two more on Wednesday and Thursday. Boston picked up a much-needed 8-6 victory on Monday to snap a 10-game slide, its longest since an 11-game skid from June 8-19, 1994. David Ortiz did most of the heavy lifting with a three-run homer that tied the game in the fifth inning, then a sacrifice fly in the seventh to put the Red Sox in front. Dustin Pedroia, who had been struggling along with Ortiz, also drove in a pair of runs and finished 1-for-3. "In 10 games prior to today, theres one RBI combined (from Pedroia and Ortiz)," said Red Sox manager John Farrell. "Today there is six between the two. I think the outcome is directly correlated to their performance. Thats not to put it all on them because we had a lot of good at-bats all the way up and down the lineup today. But them being in the middle of the lineup, their contributions are key for us." The Red Sox used seven different pitchers to get the job done as starter Clay Buchholz was pulled after only three innings as he allowed six runs and a staggering eight walks. Braves starter Ervin Santana went five innings and was also charged with six runs. "We know we still have the core of a winning team here and were going to win," Red Sox general manager Ben Cherington said before Mondays win. "But weve got to get there. Weve got to focus on today and just try to start playing a little bit better first." Atlanta has split its last six games overall and currently owns a two-game lead over Miami in the National League East. The Braves will send veteran Aaron Harang to the mound for Tuesdays game. Harang began the year with a 0.85 ERA through five starts, but he has gone 1-3 with a 6.11 ERA over his last five. He faced Milwaukee last week and gave up four earned runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings for a no-decision. It was only the second time in his last 10 starts that Harang gave up more than two earned runs. Boston will counter with ace Jon Lester, who has yielded three earned runs or fewer in eight of his 10 starts. Like Harang, Lester is coming off a subpar outing as he gave up a season-high seven runs over the first two innings against Toronto. "I dont think were excelling in any one area, but I do think we have players capable of excelling and some of that is going to happen naturally," said Cherington. "There are other things that maybe you can do at some point to try to make the whole thing a lot better. "What we believed this offseason, what we believed in Spring Training, in terms of potential of this team, the position were in with people in the clubhouse, the depth of the talent -- that hasnt changed. We just have to perform. We have to find ways to perform better, and thats going to come in a number of ways." Boston has won 15 of the last 20 meetings in the head-to-head series. Reds at Dodgers, 10pm et/7pm pt (TSN2) Zack Greinke will try to keep the mound presence going for the Los Angeles Dodgers when they resume a three-game series versus the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday from Chavez Ravine. Greinke has to follow two superb outings from teammates Josh Beckett and Hyun- Jin Ryu when he makes his 11th start of the season. Dames Yeezy Boost 350 Licht Blauw Adidas NZ Schoenen. Beckett started LAs current pitching trend with a no-hitter Sunday at Philadelphia and retired 23 straight at one point. It was Ryus turn in Mondays 4-3 win over the Reds and he followed suit by retiring the first 21 batters he faced until Todd Fraziers double in the eighth inning. Ryu came within six outs of a perfect game and finished with three runs allowed across 7 1/3 innings. The left-hander struck out seven and walked none, and also added an RBI and a run scored. Dodgers manager Don Mattingly believed Ryu running the bases wore him down. "That long inning hurt him," Mattingly said of Ryu. "It broke the momentum for him. At the end of the night, we got the win." Kenley Jansen threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief for his 15th save. Carl Crawfords two-run double highlighted a three-run seventh inning and he finished with two hits for the Dodgers, winners in three of four and eight of their last 13 games. The Dodgers will also host Pittsburgh and Chicago (White Sox) on this 10-game homestand. Greinke will try to pitch Los Angeles to its third straight win and he is 7-1 in 10 starts with a 2.01 earned run average. Greinke is coming off a no- decision in Thursdays 5-3 loss to the New York Mets and he was tagged for three runs -- one earned -- in five innings. Greinke snapped his streak of 21 straight starts allowing two runs or fewer. However, he has allowed two or fewer earned runs in a record 22 consecutive regular-season starts since July 30, 2013, going 14-2 with a 1.76 earned run average in that time. He surpassed Roger Clemens mark of 21 from 1990-91. The right-hander is 3-0 in four home outings and has a 4-1 record to go along with a 2.62 ERA in eight career starts against Cincinnati. Cincinnati opened a seven-game western swing with Mondays loss at Dodger Stadium and Frazier was able to spoil the show with his hit in the eighth. Reds ace Johnny Cueto was dealt the loss for surrendering four runs, one of which was earned, and four hits in 6 1/3 innings. Cueto was outdueled by Ryu and fell to 4-4 with his second straight loss after winning four straight decisions. After Frazier doubled to start Cincinnatis late rally, Ryan Ludwick singled and Chris Heisey followed with a sacrifice fly to put the visitors on the board. Brayan Pena then singled and Skip Schumaker walked one out later before Billy Hamilton stroked a two-run double. The Reds had two runners on base in the ninth, but Devin Mesoraco flied out to end the game. "Our silver lining was we rallied late," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "We have to hang tough. Weve played a lot of close games, but unfortunately weve come out on the short end." Cincinnati has lost three in a row since winning three of four games, and will send Alfredo Simon against Greinke Tuesday night. Simon is 6-2 with a 2.31 earned run average in nine starts and is 5-1 in the past six decisions. He won his second straight start in last Wednesdays 2-1 victory at Washington and delivered seven innings of one-run ball. Simon struck out six and walked one for the second straight start. He has 14 Ks over that span. The right-hander has been strong on the road this season, winning all five assignments, and will make his first career start against the Dodgers. He has allowed one run in 2 1/3 innings of relief (2 games). LA lost four of seven meetings with the Reds last season. Cincinnati has lost its last two series at Dodger Stadium. Venus has won an impressive seven Grand Slam titles, but hasnt been considered a top contender for years due to injuries and other health problems. Now at the age of 34, Venus is enjoying a late-career resurgence that has been on full display at the Australian Open where both sisters have reached a Grand Slam quarterfinal for the first time since 2010. Each will play a younger opponent Wednesday who has never won a major. If the Williams prevail there will be a Sisters Semifinal — which would be their 26th career meeting and their first since 2009 Wimbledon. That is just one of the compelling story lines as the Australian Open heads into Day 10, where the quarterfinal matchups are filled with back stories of revenge and revival and rising young stars looking to unseat the returning champions. Here are some things to watch for on Wednesday:___EXPERIENCE VS. ENERGY (No. 1 Serena Williams vs. No. 11 Dominika Cibulkova): Serena might be 33 years old but she is still No. 1 and wants to stay there. Her eyes are on the prize of winning her 19th Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, which she hasnt won since 2010. Her opponent in the quarterfinals is a mere 1.61 metres (5-foot-3) and has never won a major but came very close last year. The 25-year-old Cibulkova, last years runner-up to now retired Li Na, has a ferocious fighting spirit. As you can see, Im not the tallest player on the tour. I need to have something extra if I want to beat these top players, Cibulkova said earlier this week. Williams has won all four of their previous matches, and knows it wont be easy. To be her size, she hits so hard and she plays so well, Serena said. I just have to stay focused and not underestimate her.___ALL-AMERICANS (No. 18 Venus Williams vs. Madison Keys): As Venus moved through the first week of the Australian Open, she received tweets of encouragement from U.S. tennis great Billie Jean King. When Venus was asked what she would tweet back to the retired star, Venus thought a moment and quoted King: What does she always say? Pressure is a privilege. so that would be my tweet for Billie Jean. The pressure in the quarterfinals will come from another American, the 19-year-old Keys who is tipped to be one of the next stars of U.S. tennis. Keys has said that Venus was one of her childhood idols. Venus and Keys speak highly of each other but Venus couldnt help joking about their age difference: She started watching me when she was in diapers, Venus said. If Keys wins, she will get to face another Williams in the semifinals.___GENERATIONAL BATTLE (No. 1 Novak Dkjokovic vs. No. 8 Milos Raonic): At 6-foot-5 (1.96 metres), Raonic delivers one of the most feared serves in tennis and is one of the new generation of stars threatening the dominance of the old guard. He made his breakthrough year in 2014, reaching the Wimbledon semifinals and becoming the first Canadian man to finish the year in the top 10. The 25-year-old Raonic lost last years French Open quarterfinal to Djokovic in three tight sets. I play for the opportunity to have a shot against the big guys at the big slams, he said when asked about playing the No. 1-ranked Djokovic, who has won seven Grand Slams, including five Australian Open titles. He has beaten Raonic in all four of their career matches.___GRAND SLAM REMATCH (No. 4 Stan Wawrinka vs. No. 5 Kei Nishikori): Wawrinka is the defending champion who doesnt like to talk about his success. His focus, he says, is not on winning another Australian Open title but just on playing the clichéd one match at a time. The next one is expected to be a battle, and a rematch of the U.S. Open quarterfinal that Nishikori won in five sets that lasted over 4 hours. Recalling that match gives both players flashbacks. Hes a tough, tough player, the 29-year-old Wawrinka says about Nishikori. Which is exactly what the 25-year-old Japanese player says about Wawrinka, adding: Its going to be an exciting match. cheap jerseys from china .Desperately needing a win to revive its campaign, Ghana looked to be on the brink of elimination before Gyan ran onto a desperate long ball right at the end and scored past Rais Mbolhi in the Algerian goal. wholesale jerseys . The Austrian produced a superb second run to win his third career giant slalom race and fourth overall at Val dIsere. However, Hirscher was disappointed that Ted Ligety did not finish. Bowe was pulled over for speeding in a Kansas City suburb on Nov. 10, and was arrested after police found a black bag containing his wallet, drivers license and two container of suspected marijuana. He later pleaded guilty to amended charges of defective equipment and littering, and his attorney said there was no admission of guilt for the marijuana charge, which was dismissed. Bowe, who signed a $56 million, five-year deal last off-season, issued a statement through the NFL Players Association shortly after the suspension was announced. "I made an error in judgment. I take responsibility for my mistake and it will not happen again," he said. "I will be supporting my teammates in Week 1, and I cannot wait to get back on the field to help us win in Week 2 and beyond as we work toward our goal of winning the Super Bowl." The one-game suspension is in line with punishments that have been handed down by the league in similar cases. Bowe will still be eligible to participate in preseason practices and games. The loss of Bowe, even for one game, is significant for the Chiefs, who have struggled to find reliable wide receivers for years. They have several young players trying to earn a job in training camp, but Donnie Avery provides the only other veteran presence in the entire corps. "We are disappointed in the situation and will miss him on the field," the Chiefs said in a statement, "but we support the leagues decision. The club will have no further comment." This isnt the first time that the 30-year-oldd Bowe has proven to be a distraction. jerseys from china. He was suspended four games in 2009 for violating the NFLs policy on performance-enhancing drugs after taking what his agent called an unapproved weight-loss supplement. He also made questionable comments to a magazine a few years ago about womanizing that allegedly occurred at team hotels, and then misstated the name of Chiefs ownership family in his apology. Bowe struggled to adjust to new coach Andy Reids offence last season, catching just 57 passes for 673 yards and five touchdowns. But he showed up to training camp in better shape this fall, and Reid has expressed confidence that his top wide receiver will be able to bounce back. Those efforts have been hampered by a recurring injury to one of his fingers. Bowe caught just one pass for 10 yards in the Chiefs preseason opener against Cincinnati. "His finger is shot. Its been thrown out of place about 15 times," Reid said, "so now hes not catching the ball but hes getting his work done. You can practice with that kind of thing." Bowe is second in franchise history with 472 receptions, and last season he became the fastest to surpass 6,000 yards receiving for his career. He capped the year by catching eight passes for a franchise-record 150 yards in the Chiefs wild-card loss to Indianapolis. ""Hes in the best shape hes been in," Chiefs wide receivers coach David Culley said this week. "I know from last year this is completely different. When he came back from the off-season, he was in great shape. At 30, thats a mindset kind of thing. There are old 30s and there are young 30s -- which do you want to be? Right now, when he came back, he came back as a young 30." TORONTO – It became clear pretty quickly that James Reimer was at the top of his game yet again at the Air Canada Centre on Saturday evening. Nike Air Max 90 Nettbutikk . "Im not sure how many people were here tonight, maybe 20,000, I think they could all tell," said Morgan Rielly, following the 2-1 shootout victory. "The guys on his game." Reimer stopped 49 of 50 Washington shots in regulation, with Alex Ovechkin being the lone Capital scorer. He would then stop three of four in the shootout. The 25-year-old now leads the NHL with a sparkling .947 save percentage this season, stealing victory for his club once more on this night. "When you get into situations like tonight, it was one where we needed the save and he continued to make them," said Randy Carlyle of Reimer, who remains a perfect 4-0-0 at home this season. "What can you say?" said Rielly, "the guy was unbelievable. "I think the whole team is just playing a lot more comfortable and playing with a lot of confidence because hes back there and hes kicking and hes playing great. Hes unbelievable." Reimer turned shot after shot aside amid a Capitals onslaught that picked up steam at the outset of the second period. With a pair of power plays to start the frame, Washington managed to fire 10 shots unanswered at Reimer, none of which eluded the Leafs netminder. Only an Ovechkin rifle with less than five minutes to go in the third period found the back of the net. "Obviously its piling up a bit," said Reimer of the one-sided shot clock, "but honestly it was more of them just throwing pucks to the net from everywhere." Wholly impressive last season when he posted the leagues seventh-best save percentage, Reimer appears to be even better at the outset this season, looming as one half of the Leafs dominant netminding duo. "I feel like Im the best I am in my career," said Reimer, asked if this was the best stretch of his career. "The best Ive played? I dont know. I think in the playoffs last year I felt like I was playing well every game there, too. "I feel good about how Im playing right now and I think Im the best Ive ever been, but the best Ive ever played? I dont know how to answer that." Five Points 1. Ovechkins Brilliance Alex Ovechkin entered the ACC with a league-leading 19 goals, including eight on the power play. Hed scored at least once for the Capitals in 14 of 21 games. His career numbers against the Leafs were devastating: 25 goals and 46 points in 30 games. And though he was kept quiet for the better part of the evening, the Washington captain managed to stun the home crowd late with his 20th goal this season. Tracking a lofting pass from Mike Green into the offensive zone, Ovechkin snapped a laser beyond Reimer. Cody Franson explained what made the three-time Hart Trophy winner so unique. "He kind of picks his spots a little bit," Franson told the Leaf Report prior to the game. "You see him just watching the game, watching the game, and then hell see something develop and hell just explode. Hes one of those guys that has that gift to be able to see something happen before it does. With his skill-set hes able to jump into those holes very quickly and make those tough plays in tight areas that allow offensive scoring chances to happen." Asked where Ovechkin, who won his third Hart Trophy last season, sat amongst the leagues elite, Franson said, "Top of the list. Hes in there with Crosby, Malkin and all those guys. Hes evidently one of the top guys in the league. All those guys that are in that top class you can argue whos better at what, but hes definitely in that mix." 2. Finding a Comfort Zone David Clarkson hit the score-sheet for the fourth time in the past five games, scoring the lone Leaf goal in the opening period. Parked in front of Braden Holtby on a Toronto power play, Clarkson redirected a Jake Gardiner point shot for his second goal this season. Now 13 games into his career with the Leafs – he missed the first 10 games due to suspension – Clarkson is beginning to feel at home. "Im starting to feel more comfortable, 100 per cent," said Clarkson, especially effective alongside Nazem Kadri and Joffrey Lupul in the first frame. "Starting to feel better, like myself. But when youre behind the eight-ball or when youre coming into a new situation its always tough." While acknowledging the players improvement in recent days, Carlyle said hed like to see Clarkson limit some of the on-ice antics, which included a feisty back-and-forth with the Capitals. "I think thats part of his make-up," said Carlyle, "but Id like to see that toned down. I dont think we need that with our group. We have enough fuel to give the officials opportunity to put us in the box so lets not enhance that." 3. Point Shots James van Riemsdyk scored a pair of goals against Buffalo last week when he parked himself in front of Jhonas Enroth and redirected a pair of Cody Franson point shots. Clarksons goal, as noted, came off a similar attempt from Gardiner, who simply flung the puck at the crease of Holtby. Its something Carlyle would like to see more of from his defence and group as a whole. "Weve been preaching and weve been pleading with our players, just direct pucks toward the net and drive the middle lane," Carlyle said. "Were far, far too cute. We just refuse continually to direct pucks and were not getting that second and third opportunity, that flurry of shots. And the opposition that we play against are doing it to us. They take one shot on net and they get two or three whacks at it where we seemed to be one and out. Were very selective on when we want to shoot the puck. Weve got to simplify, put the pucks toward the net. I would say we have some thick heads." 4. The Ovechkin Strategy Just as he did with success against John Tavares earlier in the week, Carlyle employed the trio of Jay McClement, Nikolai Kulemin and Mason Raymond – in addition to the top pair of Carl Gunnarsson and Dion Phaneuf – opposite Ovechkin and the Capitals top line. Most interesting in the Toronto strategy was their approach in defending the Capitals captain on the power play. Shadowing Ovechkin, the Leafs were content to allow one-time after one-time from John Carlson in the middle of the ice. Carlson fired seven shots on goal, including five on the man advantage. "It didnt look very good, but consciously we felt it would be more of an advantage for us to let our goalie see the one-time shot from the other players other than Ovechkin," Carlyle said. "You see what he can do with it." Yielding a pair of power play goals to Nashville two nights earlier, the Leaf penalty kill ultimately bounced back with a perfect 3-for-3 effort against Washington. The Caps entered the night with the leagues second-ranked power play. 5. Grabovskis Return Mikhail Grabovski was quiet in his return to the ACC on Saturday. The 29-year-old made most of his noise in scary fashion during the middle frame. Looking to keep a puck in near the Toronto blue-line, Grabovski fell to the ice, his face then sliced by the skate of Clarkson. Bloodied and down on the ice, he departed for the Washington dressing room as soon as play was whistled down, returning for the second period with 20 stitches in two separate places. "Im really happy to be here," said Grabovski prior to the game. "Im happy to be around my friends who love me before and I love them, family, friends. Like home ice, my old home ice. Im just very excited and very happy." Grabovski finished with two shots in 16 minutes. Bonus Point – Sharp on the Draw Added to the roster amid growing trouble at centre ice, Jerred Smithson has proven valuable for the Leafs, particularly in the faceoff circle. In just eight games, Smithson has already taken 134 draws, now up to 61.2 per cent on the season. The 34-year-old has, in Tyler Bozaks absence, assumed the bulk of key defensive zone faceoffs, be it at even-strength or on the penalty kill. Date Opponent Percentage Total Nov. 8 NJ 89% 8-9 Nov. 9 BOS 50% 9-18 Nov. 13 MIN 53% 16-30 Nov. 15 BUF 49% 11-23 Nov. 16 BUF 47% 8-17 Nov. 19 NYI 81% 13-16 Nov. 21 NAS 89% 8-9 Nov. 23 WAS 75% 9-12 Bozak missed his 12th consecutive game against the Capitals on Saturday. The 27-year-old is still recovering from a hamstring injury which has kept him out since Oct. 25. "Were surprised that hes not available to us," said Carlyle prior to the game. "We fully counted on him being able to play..." Stat-Pack .947 – Save percentage for James Reimer, tops in the NHL. 4 – Points in the past five games for David Clarkson, who scored his second goal this season against the Capitals. 62% – Leafs on the draw against the Capitals. 134 – Face-offs for Jerred Smithson in eight games as a Leaf. 10 – Shots for Washington on three power plays. 9-3-0 – Home record for the Leafs this season. 23:02 – Ice-time for Jake Gardiner against the Capitals, including 22:05 at even-strength. With the three biggest stars of the womens game falling one by one -- top-seeded Serena Williams, followed by Maria Sharapova and two-time Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka -- the door has opened for a first-time winner at Melbourne Park. Only fourth-seeded Li Na has won a Grand Slam before -- the 2011 French Open. Fifth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland was the 2012 Wimbledon finalist, but had never been beyond the quarters in Melbourne until she chipped, lobbed and sliced Azarenka off the court in a remarkable display of shot-making on Wednesday. Dominika Cibulkova, a diminutive Slovakian who dispatched Sharapova in the fourth round, has made just one Grand Slam semifinal before, while 19-year-old Eugenie Bouchard is a only playing her fourth major -- she didnt even make it out of qualifying at last years Australian Open. With such a golden opportunity for one of the four to now break through and capture a major, the deciding factor in the semifinals may be who can best handle the pressure. "Of course, a couple seeded (players) are out. Doesnt mean its going to be easier and you have a title right away," Radwanska said. "Its a bit more pressure. This is the semifinal of a Grand Slam." Radwanska should know. The draw opened up similarly at Wimbledon last year when Williams and Sharapova were upset early and Azarenka pulled out with an injury, leaving the Polish player as the highest remaining seed and the favourite to capture her first major. Radwanska, however, crumpled in the semifinals against Sabine Lisicki, blowing a 3-0 lead in the third set. She said its natural to feel nervous in these situations. "I think in the beginning of the match its always a little bit tough, especially its the first semifinal," she said. Billig New Balance KL574. "But hopefully after few games Im going to be myself and play my best tennis." Radwanska faces Cibulkova in the semis -- a player shes beaten four times in five matches, including a 6-0, 6-0 drubbing in the Sydney International final last year. Cibulkova knows she doesnt have a great record against Radwanska, but she takes inspiration from Stanislas Wawrinkas upset of four-time mens champion Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals after 14 consecutive losses to the Serb. "You just want to prove it to yourself that you can do it, and thats what (Wawrinka) did," Cibulkova said. Li, a two-time finalist at the Australian Open, has the most experience of any of the semifinalists playing in the latter stages of slams, but shes also been susceptible to buckling under pressure. Li was up a set in the finals here against Kim Clijsters in 2011 and Azarenka in 2013, only to falter both times. She also nervously wasted four match points in a fourth-round loss to Clijsters in 2012, breaking down in tears afterward. The Chinese star was almost out of this years tournament, as well, saving a match point against Lucie Safarova in the third round. Since then, however, shes appeared more focused on court, dropping just six games in her last two matches. The wild card is Bouchard. Li, who will be 32 next month, is 12 years older than the Canadian and has won their only previous meeting, but Bouchard is a rising talent with nothing to lose. She likes her chances in a tournament as topsy-turvy as this one. "I think some players can still lose on any given day and it still makes it extremely interesting," she said. "Im feeling confident and just excited to play." Cheap China Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China China NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '

CLEVELAND - Jason Giambi has never taken a single day as a major leaguer for granted. Cheap Jerseys China . And at 43, the veteran sluggers not about to start. Giambi was activated from the disabled list on Tuesday by the Cleveland Indians, who also recalled right-hander Trevor Bauer from Triple-A Columbus to start against Detroit and made several other roster moves. Although he wasnt in the starting lineup to face Justin Verlander, Giambi is grateful to be back in any capacity. "Its fun to have your name on the lineup card and get a chance to help the ball club out," he said. Giambi had been placed on the DL on May 5 with a strained calf he injured a day earlier against the Chicago White Sox. It was his Giambis second trip to the DL after he fractured a rib during spring training. Before he went on the DL last month, Giambi, who has 438 career homers, was hitless in 10 at-bats. Its been a rough start. "I went basically from a broken rib, played a few games, calf injury," he said. "That kind of happens when you get that short spring training and dont get to play much. Its definitely hard to get going and come back to the cold weather, but Im excited to be back." The Indians also promoted utility man Justin Sellers from Triple-A Columbus and optioned infielder Jose Ramirez to the Clippers. First baseman Jesus Aguilar, who had two RBIs in Mondays win over Detroit, and left-hander T.J. House were optioned back to the minor leagues to clear room for Giambi and Bauer. Indians manager Terry Francona intends to use Giambi in pinch-hitting situations. Hell also be used at designated hitter, and could see more time if Carlos Santana, who is batting .148, continues to struggle. Giambi said if there was one positive about his calf injury, its that it didnt prevent him from keeping his swing sharp. "I was able to do everything," he said. "I could hit. I could do everything else. With the rib, I basically couldnt do anything. I was shut down for basically five weeks, not doing anything. "So, that was nice. I could still hit, throw, everything but run. I kept up with my hitting, which was great. I feel like I could catch up, like I dont have to make up that time to get some swings in, so thats big for me." Bauer will be making his second start. The right-hander, who went 4-1 with a 2.15 ERA in seven starts in the minors, will match up against Verlander and face Detroits fearsome lineup for the first time. The 23-year-old Bauer struck out eight in a spot start against San Diego on April 9. He took the loss, but went back to Columbus and continued to dominate. "We were glad we got a chance to glimpse the last outing, and then he went back to Triple-A and kicked it into gear," Francona said. "Weve been talking for a year, this guys a big part of what we want to do going forward. And to see him growing and understanding, its exciting." Cheap NFL Jerseys . TORONTO -- After sitting out the previous two games, Kenny Ryan made a loud statement Sunday according to his head coach Steve Spott. Nike Air Max 90 Donna . The Marlies centre set up three goals, including the game-winner, as Toronto cruised to a 4-1 victory over the Oklahoma City Barons in American Hockey League action. "He came in and gave us great minutes on that fourth line with (Brad) Staubitz and (Jamie) Devane," said Spott. "Kennys one of those guys that can be an unsung hero. He kills penalties, he plays against other teams top lines and he brings us that speed and energy that you need on the depth of your lineup." After Anton Lander opened the scoring, Ryan set up Greg McKegg and Devane sixty-eight seconds apart in the second. Ryan also set up McKeggs second of the night in the third. Brandon Kozun had the other goal for the Marlies (31-17-4) whove won three straight and earned a spilt in the season series with Oklahoma City winning one game a piece. "I think Ive been struggling a little bit trying to get my feet underneath me and felt like the breaks werent going my way," said Ryan, who was playing in his 27th game with the Marlies. "Tonight I was pretty confident out there. Making plays, hanging on to pucks as long as I could and fortunately got a couple bounces." With the loss the Barons (23-24-7) dropped two of three in a three-game, three-night stretch over the weekend. The Barons won the only other meeting of the season between the two clubs, 5-3, Jan. 30 in Oklahoma City. Garret Sparks, who was making his first start since Jan. 31, made 38 saves for the win and improved to 2-2-0 at Ricoh Coliseum this season. Richard Bachman made 27 saves for his 14th loss of the season. Kozun made it 4-1, on a power play, at 17:10 re-directing a T.J. Brennan shot past Bachman. McKeggs second of the night at 9:42 gave the Marlies a 3-1 lead. McKegg picked up a pass from Ryan and beat Bachman blocker-side for his 13th of the season on a power play. With the two-goal game, McKegg now has four goals and four assists in seven February games. "Hes now turning himself into a legitimate NHL prospect and Im sure theres a number of teams, not only the Toronto Maple Leafs, but the 29 other teams that are seeing that as well," said Spott. "Its great to see the confidence that hes playing with." The Marlies scored twice in just over a minute during the middle frame to erase an early 1-0 deficit. McKegg tied it 1-1 at 8:34 taking a Stuart Percy feed and one timing it over the glove hand of Bachman for his 12th of the season. Just over a minute later, Devane slapped a loose puck past a screened Bachman for his third of the season giving Toronto its first lead, 2-1. Oklahoma City opened the scoring on a second period 5-on-3 power play as Landers pass re-directed off of Korbinian Holzer and past Sparks at 3:48 of the second. Toronto had an excellent chance to open the scoring at 12:15 of the first period as Josh Leivo re-directed a Ryan feed past Bachman, but hit the post. With a minute remaining in the opening period, Mark Acrobello beat Sparks glove-side but rang his shot off the post. Just prior to the Acrobello chance, Peter Holland got a shot through the pads of Bachman, but Barons defenceman David Musil was there to clear the rolling puck before it crossed the goal line. "Hes so dynamic. The challenge we have now is do you play him with Kozun, Leivo, Abbott so well have to make some decisions as we go forward," Spott said of Holland. "Hes a puck procession guy, he likes to move the puck and hes just so dynamic through the neutral zone. "A good effort by him. He hasnt played hockey in a long time. Hes been off for quite some time with the break. Hell only get better as we go." Holland was playing his first game with the Marlies since being re-assigned on Saturday. In three games with the Marlies this season, Holland has three goals. With the March 5 NHL trade deadline fast approaching a plethora of scouts were in attendance to watch the Maple Leafs and Oilers affiliates Sunday. Spott said hes noticed chatter among his players. "We have a room there where guys get coffee, you definitely hear some of the banter, but all they can do is control their play," said Spott. "They cant control anything else outside of that so, its just staying positive and allowing them to play. "Were a four line team, we get everybody out on the ice, and if they want an opportunity to continue to play in the National Hockey League, its a great program to be in." Nike Jordan Prezzo . Only it wasnt the extended right pad of his old teammate Jonathan Bernier early in the final frame, it was James Reimer, who stole a night that was supposed to belong to the former King. “Amazing,” said Nazem Kadri of the performance. Replacing an injured Bernier for the final two periods Thursday night, Reimer helped halt the Kings eight-game win streak with 31 saves, steering the Leafs to their second victory in the California triangle and perhaps biggest all season. He was brilliant from start (a late one in this case) to finish. The 25-year-old stopped every shot he faced in 40 busy minutes, including one other rewind-and-replay save on Kopitar in a hectic 17-save second frame. Reimer very nearly had to leave the game himself with an injury (more on that in Five Points), but remained in there to guide the Leafs to their 15th win in the past 22 games (15-4-3) and his first personally in nearly two months. His memorable right-pad stop on Kopitars doorstep attempt in that final frame came on a Kings power-play, the save setting the stage for Mason Raymonds eventual game-winner just seven seconds later. “That was probably the TSN Turning Point where he made that huge save and then we went down on the two-on-one and next thing you know were up a goal and we were able to hang on for the rest of the game,” Kadri said. Formerly the Leafs No. 1 in goal, Reimer has endured a trying season, relegated to the undesired backup position for the better part of the 2014 calendar. He was playing in just his third game since late January, making just six starts in the new year. It was two nights earlier on the second stop through California that he and his teammates were shelled by the Sharks, thumped 6-2 at the SAP Center in San Jose. But here on this night against the Kings, who were gunning to match a franchise record with nine straight wins, they found the means to elude the leagues hottest team on the shoulders of an unlikely candidate. Doubted and dissected constantly throughout his relatively brief NHL career, Reimer had not won a game since Jan. 21. His future with the organization, in light of Berniers ascendance, remains an open question certain to be settled in the summer. “I just came in and did my job,” he said. “Every time you get in there its an opportunity, whether its a full game or half a game or 10 minutes or whatnot. … It was just `Go in there and take care of business – dont think about the future or the past or anything like that. You kind of get those thoughts out of your head because they dont help you very much. So I was just trying to focus on what I had to do technically and mentally to stay sharp.” Coming off a terrific 43-save showing in Anaheim on Monday, Bernier was forced to exit his long-awaited return to the Staples Center after just 20 minutes, pulling himself because of a lower-body injury. It was a disappointing return to say the least. “He was a little sore before the game,” said head coach Randy Carlyle of Bernier, who did not speak to reporters afterward. “And we just said if you cant go let us know and after the first period he felt he wasnt going to be able to give us what we needed and we made a decision that wed go with Reimer.” Randy Carlyle said Bernier had been sore before the game. Bernier told them after the first that he wasnt able to continue. Carlyle was unsure of the extent of the injury (lower-body) and couldnt say whether the team would recall Drew MacIntyre from the Marlies for an upcoming game in Washington. Carlyle also defended the decision to keep Reimer in the net after getting his bell rung in a collision with Jarret Stoll, arguing that Stoll had actually hit the shoulder area. The value of owning two quality goaltenders was never more apparent. Five Points 1. Concerning Collision Two nights after James van Riemsdyk remained down on the ice for a moment or two after a thunderous collision with Dion Phaneuf, Reimer experienced a scary collision himself. Racing to corral a loose puck, he was run over by Jarret Stoll, the left leg of the Kings centre catching him square in the head. “It probably wasnt a very good choice,” said Reimer, “but I went for it, tried to shoot it away and he kind of dove for it and I think his knee or his skate or something just hit me in the head and just kind of rang my bell, thats all.” Reimer remained down on the ice for a few moments after the collision before consulting with the teams medical staff in the TV timeout. He opted to remain in the game without undergoing concussion tests. It was a questionable decision considering his injury history which includes a relatively recent battle with concussion and neck concerns – concerns which date back to an incident with Montreal captain Brian Gionta. “Well I dont think he really actually got kicked in the head,” said Carlyle defiantly. “If you really look at the replay, he didnt really strike him in the head. He hit him more in the shoulder area ... And he said he was fine.” “Obviously there [were] thoughts of coming off,” Reimer said, “but I didnt feel that it really warranted that. Obviously you have a little bit of a headache and stuff like that when you get hit in the head like that, but I felt that I was cappable to keep going so I stayed in. Nike Air Max 2015 Prezzo. rdquo; 2. Backup to the Backup There was definite chatter on the Toronto bench about what might happen in the event that Reimer could not continue with Bernier already sidelined for the night. “I was sitting beside Bernie and as soon as that happened I told him to take off his pads I might have to throw ‘em on,” said Kadri with a grin. “It would be somebody, but I dont know who it would be,” said Carlyle, joking that goalie coach Rick St. Croix and former goaltender and assistant coach Scott Gordon both declined. “I asked Colton Orr if he ever played goal and he said no.” Carl Gunnarsson was Reimers choice. “I think his dad was a goalie,” Reimer said. 3. Kadris Follow-up Campaign It took 64 games for Kadri to exceed his exploits of last season, registering his career-high 45th point of the year against the Kings before adding a second point later in the evening. While not nearly as explosive productivity-wise as his first full season in the NHL, Kadri has, nonetheless, had a solid follow-up campaign, on pace for more than 20 goals and 50-plus points. “I think so,” said Kadri, asked if hed taken the desired step forward in his second full season. “Especially just matching up against a lot of those top lines and going against those top centremen. Im still a young player whos trying to figure out what my boundaries as a player [are]. I think just matching me up against the best is only going to make me better.” On this night in L.A, Kadri saw a lot of two former Canadian Olympians, matched up against Mike Richards (2010) and Jeff Carter (2010/2014). He created the Leafs first goal on the power-play, finding a diving Dion Phaneuf in the slot, adding a second point – his 23rd in the past 25 games – on Gunnarssons second goal of the year. “The points are going to come,” said Kadri. “I know that. But I want to become a complete player that this team can trust, offensive zone, neutral zone, defensive zone. Thats really what Im striving towards.” 4. Kadri on the Dot Still only 23, Kadri remains a youthful work in progress, the finer points of the game an ongoing challenge. One such challenge has been the faceoff circle. Kadri is amongst the worst regulars in the league (at about 45 per cent), but feels hes slowly starting to figure it out. “Thats the same as all the young guys, Giroux, Crosby, top centremen in the league, their first couple years they were in the league they were under 50 per cent and thats right where I was hovering,” said Kadri prior to Thursdays game. “I think the last few weeks Ive definitely been able to figure out some tendencies and get a lot better in that area.” Seven-of-17 against the Kings, Kadri has won 51 per cent of his draws over the past five games. He ties the recent improvement to watching film “and just being around the league a little more, knowing what certain centremen are going to do … Just a lot of things Im working out as we go.” 5. Rangers Progression Torontos seven-defender lineup has worked in large part because of Paul Ranger, who has become the roving option for Carlyle. The 29-year-old has finally found a fit in the defensive role envisioned by the coaching staff at the beginning of the season. “Its just a will and a determination that I want to be in the lineup,” said Ranger ahead of Thursdays game. “I want to play. I want to be a part of things. Personally, for me, I want to be able to play and I want to play consistently. I want to play to the best of my ability, to continue to rise, to continue to improve my game every day. Just contribute as much as I can.” Ranger was a healthy scratch in 14 consecutive games before he was reinserted into the lineup as the seventh defender on Feb. 6. He had struggled to that point to establish himself as a viable option on the back-end. Bigger physically than his first go-around in the NHL, he is also being asked to perform with more of a defensive lean, a shift from the offensive player he was for the most part in Tampa. His game now is dependent on physicality and an aggressive “body-first mentality”. “Its an adjustment, a process,” he said. “Adjusting to the style of play here has been a challenge, but it is something that Ive accepted and taken on that challenge. Now I feel like for me its almost instinctual now, to play that way.” Dressing seven against the Kings, no Leaf defender played 20 minutes on Thursday. Stats-Pack 35-40 – Toronto penalty kill over the past 14 games. 256 – Shots for Phil Kessel this season, second behind only Alex Ovechkin. 46 – Points for Nazem Kadri this season, a career-high. 19:29 – Ice-time for Dion Phaneuf against the Kings, most among the Toronto defence. 15-4-3 – Leafs record over the past 22 games. 13-22 – Mark for Jay McClement in the faceoff circle on Thursday night. Special Teams Capsule PP: 1-3 Season: 21% (3rd) PK: 3-4 Season: 78.8% (28th) Quote of the Night “I was sitting beside Bernie and as soon as that happened I told him to take off his pads I might have to throw ‘em on.” - Nazem Kadri, on what the Leafs might do in the event of an injury to James Reimer. Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn. Nike Free Run+ 2 tumma vaaleanpunainen/Lime/valkoinen naiset Running .ca. Hi Kerry, This may sound like a silly question but Im watching Anaheim and Vancouver Monday night and during a stoppage of play, I noticed that when the linesman Brian Mach No. 78, had gone over to help Eddie Lack with a small equipment issue with his chest protector - his fight strap was undone! I thought jerseys must be "tied down" properly at all times. Does this rule not apply to goalies? Thanks for all you do - the best to ever ref the NHL!Rachel Tilton Hi Rachel: Thank you for the kudos. All players of each team must be dressed uniformly with approved design and color of their team uniform. Altered uniforms of any kind, i.e. Velcro inserts, over-sized jerseys, altered collars, etc., will not be permitted. Any player or goalkeeper not complying with this rule shall not be permitted to participate in the game. A players jersey must be "tied down" properly at all times as per rule 9.3. It is very difficult to detect if a player is not properly tied down unless he becomes involved in an altercation. The only time that a penalty applies to a player not properly tied down is if he engages in a fight and his jersey is removed completely off his torso, in which case a game misconduct is assessed (46.13). The exception to this application is when the opponent has been identified as the instigator; a game misconduct shall not be assessed regardless as to whether or not the player (non-instigator) was properly tied down. I have seen players who do not expect to fight (typically skilled players) participate in the game without tying down their jerseys. While this makes little sense, it their prerogative as it is next to impossible for the referee to detect (goalkeeper included). Specific to goalkeepers no inserts or additions are to be added to the standard goalkeeper-cut jersey as produced by the manufacturer unless approved by the League. In addition goalkeepers are not allowed any "tying down" of the sweater at the wrists if it creates a tension across the jersey such that a "webbing effect" is created in the armpit area. No other tie downs are allowed that create a webbing effect." The length of a jersey is illegal if it covers any area between the goalkeepers legs. In short, any excessive material that would provide the goalkeeper with added coverage of his net is not permitted. Unless a goalkeeper intended to fight during the game he would likely not snap the tab on the back of pants. nike air max thea suomi . -- Michael Phelps has competed in the second event of his comeback and failed to advance to the 50-meter freestyle final. Cleveland signed Bengals slot receiver Andrew Hawkins to a contract offer sheet on Thursday, a Browns spokesman said. Cincinnati will have five days — until next Tuesday — to match the reported four-year, $13.6 million deal, which includes a $3.8 million signing bonus, or theyll lose the speedy and elusive Hawkins. The Browns are in the market to fill the slot position after releasing troubled wide receiver Davone Bess last week. The Bengals have not said what they intend to do with Hawkins, who caught just 12 passes last season and missed four games with a high ankle sprain. In 2012, Hawkins had 51 catches for 533 yards and four touchdowns. The 28-year-old Hawkins was in Clevelands rookie minicamp in 2007, but wasnt signed. He played in the Canadian Football League before signing with the Bengals. If he joins the Browns, the 5-foot-7 Hawkins would provide a nice complement for Pro Bowl wide receiver Josh Gordon and another option for quarterback Brian Hoyer, who at this point is the favourite to begin next season as Clevelands starter. As they await Cincinnatis decision on Hawkins, the Browns are exploring other options and are believed to have interest in New Englands Julian Edelman, a free agent who caught 105 passes last season as Tom Bradys primary target. Edelman took over the role once held by Wes Welker and finished with 1,056 yards receiving and six touchdowns. The former Kent State quarterback also handled punt return duties for the Patriots. He has another local connection because he was a teammate on the Patriots with Hoyer, who backed up Brady for three seasons. On Thursday night, the Browns hosted Houston free agent running back Ben Tate, who could fill a major hole for Clevelandd. air max 90 miehet. Tate was supposed to meet with the team on Wednesday but his visit had to be postponed because of a severe winter storm. Tate rushed for 771 yards and four touchdowns last season, his third with the Texans. He has been on Clevelands radar for months, starting soon after the club traded Trent Richardson to Indianapolis for a first-round draft pick. Tate has averaged 4.7 yards per carry and hes rushed for 1,992 yards and 10 TDs. The Browns didnt adequately replace Richardson and their rushing game was almost nonexistent. Earlier in the day, the Browns signed tight end Jim Dray to a three-year, $5.62 million contract, with $2.25 million in the first season. The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder spent the past four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, setting career highs with 26 catches for 215 yards and two touchdowns last season. Primarily a blocker, Dray gives the Browns depth at tight end behind Pro Bowl Jordan Cameron and Gary Barnidge. Dray was impressed that the Browns showed early interest in him. "Just hearing from my agent that the Browns were pretty aggressive from the start of free agency," said Dray, drafted out of Stanford in the seventh round in 2010. "I thought that theyd be a great fit for me, so the feeling was mutual and Im really excited to be here. Ive been watching (offensive co-ordinator) coach (Kyle) Shanahans offence for Washington the past couple years, and the way they used their tight ends seemed like a good fit." The Browns also are waiting for what happens with Pro Bowl centre Alex Mack. They placed their transition tag — worth $10.039 million for one year — on him last week and will have five days to match any offer if he signs with another team. Mack has until July 22 to sign his transition tag and its possible his situation could drag on. Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork. Adidas Superstar White And Gold .com) - Stephen Curry had 32 points and 12 assists as the Golden State Warriors defeated the Toronto Raptors 126-105 on Friday night. Toronto trailed by as many as 23 in the second half, but pulled within 110-101 after Lou Williams knocked down a pair of jumpers with five minutes remaining. Golden State, though, answered with 14 straight points to put the game away. Curry, who had 10 points during the surge, capped it with consecutive 3- pointers for a 124-101 advantage with 1:38 to go. Draymond Green posted his first career triple-double with 16 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds, Marreese Speights tallied 26 points and eight rebounds and Klay Thompson netted 20 points for Golden State, which has won three in a row. We could go down the list tonight, everybody played well, Warriors coach Steve Kerr said. Greivis Vasquez supplied 25 points, seven assists and five boards off the bench, Kyle Lowry provided 22 points, eight assists and five rebounds and Amir Johnson recorded 12 points and 10 boards for the Raptors, who have dropped three of their last five games. They shot the ball extremely well, said Lowry. Their small ball really got to us tonight. Currys triple in the waning moments of the first half staked the Warriors to a 66-61 edge heading into the break and they further upped their cushion with a 23-5 burst to begin the third. Thompson poured in 10 points during the swing, which was concluded on a Speights layup for a commanding 89-66 lead. Toronto, which trailed 40-31 following a quarter of play, trimmed the gap to 97-84 going into the fourth. The question is, where is he most likely to go? An obvious choice is the Edmonton Oilers. Gretzky won four Stanley Cups with the Oilers from 1979-1988 before “the trade” sent him packing to sunny California to play with the Los Angeles Kings.Following last seasons Stanley Cup Final appearance, Canucks general manager Mike Gillis reiterated his commitment to winning a championship with goaltender Roberto Luongo. One year later, he doesnt sound as sure. With Cory Schneider having taken over Vancouvers net after the Canucks first two losses against the Los Angeles Kings and winning Game 4 - the teams first victory of the series - there has been plenty of speculation about which goalie the team will go with for the future. In an interview on the Team 1040 in Vancouver on Friday, Gillis wasnt as staunch in his support of Luongo as he has been in the past. When asked if the current goalie change will have any impact on who will be in net this September, Gillis replied, "Im not sure yet. Well try and win this series and move on and if we do that, lots of things can continue to change. Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 Canada. " Speaking on how Luongo has handled the situation, Gillis said Luongo has been supportive of Schneider. "He understands that we needed a momentum change," said Gillis. "Roberto has played very well but sometimes you just need a change." The Canucks GM was also asked how he felt the series against L.A. has gone so far. "They have a good team thats patient and if you make mistakes youre going to pay. Thats really the series in a nutshell." Gillis laid out what the Canucks will have to do to win Sundays Game 5 in Vancouver. "If we stay disciplined and play the style we normally play - up-tempo and put a lot of pressure on them - I like our chances. If we make mistakes and play without any energy, were not going to make it through this." Paul McLane Chris: You are correct in your assessment that Wayne Simmonds deserved a game misconduct when he grabbed John Erskine around the neck allowing Vincent Lecavalier a free shot as the players fell to the ice. With the Los Angeles Kings on the verge of winning the Stanley Cup with a 3-0 series lead over the New York Rangers, the debate has begun as to whom should win the Conn Smythe Trophy for this years playoffs. Unlike in 2012 when the Kings last won the Cup, there is no obvious choice for the most valuable player in the playoffs. That year, goaltender Jonathan Quick posted a 16-4 record with a .946 save percentage, 1.41 goals-against-average and three shutouts en route to winning the award. Quick is again a candidate to win this year, however he may not be the favourite. In 24 playoff games, Quick has a 15-9 record, a .910 save percentage and 2.69 goals against average. He also has two shutouts in the playoffs, including one against the Rangers in Game 3. The Kings have used a high-scoring offence to get within a game of winning the Stanley Cup this season. Their 84 goals in the playoffs are 24 more than the next-best Rangers. Leading the way on offence is Anze Kopitar, who leads in scoring with 26 points in 24 playoff games. Kopitars 21 assists in this years run sits second in Kings history, behind only Wayne Gretzkys 25 helpers in 1993. However, Kopitar has just five goals, while nine of his assists have come on Marion Gaborik goals. Gaborik, acquired by the Kings on trade deadline day from the Columbus Blue Jackets, leads the playoffs in goals with 13. His finest game of the playoffs ccame in the second round against the Anaheim Ducks, when he scored with seven seconds left in regulation to tie the game and scored again in overtime to take the series opener. Adidas Superstar Vita Rosa. "Mr. Game 7," Justin Williams, also has an overtime winner on his playoff resume this year. Williams scored to lift the Kings over the Rangers in Game 1 -- one of eight goals hes scored in the playoffs. An emotional leader for the team, Williams is tied for second in playoff scoring with 24 points and leads the team with a plus-14 rating. He also has six points through three Stanley Cup Final games. Tied with Williams at 24 points is forward Jeff Carter, who played a similar role to Gaborik in 2012 after being acquired mid-season from the Blue Jackets. Carter has 10 goals in these playoffs, including a team-high four on the power play. However, hurting Carters campaign is his plus-five rating. If any defenceman is to win the Conn Smythe Trophy for the Kings, it would likely be Drew Doughty, who leads the Kings blue line with 17 points and has been their top defenceman throughout the playoffs, averaging over 28 minutes of ice-time per game. With multiple options available, the Conn Smythe Trophy debate may come down to the Kings final victory. Until then, who do you believe will be named the most valuable player should the Kings defeat the Rangers? As always, its Your! Call. Augustin had 21 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter as Chicago (33-26) improved to 21-8 since Jan. 1 and a season-high seven games above .500 overall. Butler scored 19 points and Carlos Boozer had 14. "Weve hit a stretch where we have guys that are healthy playing that I think they know what to expect from each other," coach Tom Thibodeau said. "I think theyre playing to their strengths." While the Bulls are galloping through the weak Eastern Conference, the Knicks are floundering. Carmelo Anthony scored 21 points and Tyson Chandler had 22 rebounds, but New York dropped its sixth consecutive game. The Knicks (21-39) are just 6-16 since Jan. 14. "Its embarrassing," Anthony said. "Its frustrating and its embarrassing." Swingman Iman Shumpert had three points on 1-for-6 shooting in his return to the lineup. He missed five games after he sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee during New Yorks 98-91 victory over New Orleans on Feb. 19. Noah rolled his right ankle at the beginning of the second half and got it re-taped before comingg back in at the start of the fourth quarter. Ryne Sandberg Jersey. He heard more chants of "M-V-P! M-V-P!" when he went 1 for 2 at the line to make it 89-70 with 9:26 to go. There were more loud cheers when Jimmer Fredette checked in with 3:08 left after joining the Bulls earlier in the day. The sharp-shooting guard drilled a long jumper on his first shot, making it 107-83 with 2:16 remaining. Fredette, the 10th overall pick in the 2011 draft, was bought out by Sacramento on Thursday and cleared waivers on Saturday. His contract with the Bulls covers the rest of the season. "It was great. I mean, these guys did a great job the whole game and got a big lead and I was able to get into the game," Fredette said. Led by Noah, the Bulls jumped all over the Knicks right at the start. He capped Chicagos opening 16-1 run with a driving layup and rebound tip-in. It just kept getting worse for New York, which shot 32 per cent from the field in the first quarter. Butler scored 10 points and also found Gibson for a big dunk as Chicago jumped to a 37-16 lead, setting a season high for points for the opening period. "They came out with more energy than we did, took advantage of us," Chandler said. "On the defensive end, backdoor cuts that pretty much changed the game." The lead grew to 25 early in the second before Anthony and Amare Stoudemire started to heat up. Anthony made a nice pass to Stoudemire for a reverse layup that got New York within nine with 3:33 to go. Anthony drove the baseline for a smooth jam, but Noah found Butler for a jumper that lifted Chicago to a 59-48 halftime lead. Noah had 11 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds at the break. "You cant come on the road and start like that and expect to win," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said. NOTES: Anthony has said he plans to become a free agent this summer, and there was at least one sign calling on him to come to Chicago. "I cant see next year," Anthony said. "I cant even see tomorrow at this point." ... Stoudemire and Tim Hardaway Jr. had 14 points apiece for New York. ... The Bulls improved to 14-2 this season when they score 100 or more points. ... SAN JOSE, Calif. Nike Air Max 90 Nere Uomo . -- Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau found the perfect way to celebrate their new contract extensions. Thornton scored his second goal of the game with 1:30 remaining in overtime to lead the San Jose Sharks to their sixth straight win, 3-2 over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. Marleau also scored as the two longtime Sharks shined one day after signing three-year deals that will keep them in San Jose through the 2016-17 season. "For me and Patty both to score, its a great night for us," Thornton said. Antti Niemi made 20 saves and Joe Pavelski and Matt Irwin had two assists apiece as the Sharks overcame a 2-0 deficit to get their third six-game winning streak of the season. "Theyre our guys, and we need them when were down," Irwin said. "Jumbo got us to within one and Patty tied it up and obviously Jumbo won it in overtime. Theyre our guys. Its just kind of ironic what happened." Matt Cooke and Keith Ballard scored for the Wild, who built an early lead on the opener of a four-game road trip but still lost for the ninth time in their past 10 trips to San Jose. Darcy Kuemper made 29 saves as Minnesota lost for just the fourth time in 12 games this month. "We got a point against a good team in a tough building to play," Ballard said. "For the most part we played a fairly solid game. We werent the best at times. But we hung in there and even after they got those two quick goals, I thought we responded pretty well. We just couldnt find the time to get the third one tonight." Thornton and Pavelski combined on the game-winning play by causing a turnover at the blue line. Pavelski then fed Thornton, who beat Kuemper with a wrist shot from the top of the circle to end it with his ninth career overtime goal and first since Nov. 26, 2008, against Chicago. Pavelski assisted on both of Thorntons goals in a bit of a role reversal after Thornton helped set up many of his 19 goals in the previous 21 games. "Ive been telling Pav, Youve been scoring too much. Start passing the puck. And he finally listened," Thornton said. "I dont too often, but Pav just made two good plays and luckily I put them in." The Wild struck first on a nifty play by Cooke midway through the first period. Cooke deflected Thorntons cross-ice pass to Brad Stuart in the neutral zone. Cooke then beat Stuart to the loose puck and skated in on Niemi before beating him with a forehand for his eighth goal. They added onto the lead early in the second when Mikael Granlund fed Ballard for a one-timer that beat Niemi. It was Ballards first goal since Oct. 6, 2011, for Vancouver against Pittsburgh, ending a drought of 114 games without a goal. But that was all the Wild would get as they managed just 12 shots in the final 39-plus minutes. They spent much of the game on the defensive as they won just 18 of 59 faceoffs. "We lost the extra point because of the face-off circle tonight," coach Mike Yeo said. "We spent the entire night chasing and its inevitable that they will put you on your heels and give them some momentum. We never started with the puck. That was the big story." Minnesota dominated the opening half of the second period, limiting San Jose to one shot in the first 11-plus minutes before Thornton and Marleau delivered a day after getting their new contracts. Thornton struck first when Pavelski fed him for a one-timer that he knocked past Kuemper on a knuckler. Just 49 seconds later, Marleau scored his 22nd of the season when Tommy Wingels fanned on the original shot but still managed to get the puck to Marleau, who deflected it past Kuemper to tie the game. NOTES: Thornton has 40 career multigoal games. ... Minnesota F Jason Pominville got his 500th career point with an assist on Ballards goal. ... San Jose juggled its top two lines the second half of the game with Matt Nieto playing with Thornton and Pavelski and Brent Burns moving to a wing with Marleau and Wingels. They were saving the real celebration for the clubhouse. The Nationals wrapped up their second NL East title in three years against the team that knocked them out of the top spot last season, beating the Atlanta Braves 3-0 on Tuesday night. Tanner Roark pitched five-hit ball over seven innings and Ian Desmonds two-run homer broke a scoreless tie in the sixth, sending Washington back to the playoffs with nearly two weeks to spare. "Nice to have it done," said Washington first baseman Adam LaRoche, who began his career with the Braves. "The sooner, the better." In the clubhouse, the Nationals drenched each other -- and pretty much anything that moved -- with seemingly endless streams of beer. Lil Jons party anthem "Turn Down For What" boomed from the speakers. Bryce Harper, wearing goggles and a fire helmet with "34" across the front, posed for selfies with his teammates. "We want to keep going, keep winning ballgames," Harper said. The clinching victory was especially sweet coming against the Braves, who finished 10 games ahead of the Nationals in 2013. The roles were reversed this season as Washington steadily pulled away down the stretch. The teams were tied for the lead as late as July 20. It was no contest the rest of the way. The Nationals stretched the lead to a season-high 12 1/2 games with the victory. "Its just one step. Theres a long, hard road ahead of us," Nationals outfielder Jayson Werth said. "But were going to enjoy the moment for now." Atlanta lost for the 11th time in 14 games, further damaging its hopes of making a third straight playoff appearance, this time as a wild card. The Braves dropped to 75-76 with their fifth straight loss, the first time they have been under .500 since losing on opening day. "You never want anybody to celebrate on your field," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "But they did it professionally, I thought. I didnt expect anything less from that organization." The Braves fell 5 1/2 games behind Pittsburgh for the second NL wild card with 11 games left in the regular season. "Weve still got a chance," Gonzalez insisted. "Now weve got to set our sights on a winning streak and maybe we can come in witth a second wild card. Adidas Donne Superstar 2 Trainers Militare Blu/Bianche. " Roark (14-10) pitched around four leadoff singles by Atlanta, which never got a runner past second base. He struck out four and walked none, lifted after throwing 89 pitches. Tyler Clippard worked a scoreless eighth, and Drew Storen finished up for his seventh save. The Nationals finally broke through in the sixth against Aaron Harang (11-11). After Werth led off with a walk, LaRoche took a called third strike before Harang worked the count to 2-2 on Desmond. The next pitch was a breaking ball that stayed up in the zone. Desmond got all of it, sending a drive deep into the left-field seats for his 23rd homer. Left fielder Justin Upton barely moved, while Harang pumped his fist angrily on the mound. "A curveball down the middle," Desmond said. "It ended up going out of the ballpark." He scored Washingtons other run in the ninth, trotting home on David Carpenters wild pitch. The Nationals will be making just the third playoff appearance in the franchises 46-year history. The club reached the post-season only once as the Montreal Expos (in 1981) before moving to Washington for the 2005 season. Two years ago, the Nationals had a major league-leading 98 wins but were stunned by the St. Louis Cardinals in the deciding game of the NL division series. Washington jumped ahead 6-0 after three innings and still led 7-5 going to the ninth, only to give up four runs with two outs. "We have a chance for redemption," LaRoche said. TRAINERS ROOM Nationals: Harper was back in the lineup after leaving Mondays game in the third inning when he felt light-headed. Manager Matt Williams said Harper had a "little bit of the gunk" that seemed to be going around in the Washington clubhouse. Braves: C Evan Gattis missed his eighth straight game since coming down with strep throat. Gonzalez said he doesnt know when Gattis will be healthy enough to return. UP NEXT Nationals: LHP Gio Gonzalez (8-10) has won two of his three starts in September after going nearly two months without a win. Braves: LHP Alex Wood (10-10) has lasted at least seven innings and allowed two runs or fewer in 12 of his 22 starts. Atlanta is 5-7 in those games. A TRADITION LIKE NO OTHER It was the 10th time the Braves have watched a visiting team celebrate a playoff victory or post-season-clinching win since moving to Turner Field in 1997. He was the primary ball carrier who rushed for 1,293 yards in 2009 and 689 in nine games last season before a foot injury ended his year. The five-foot-10, 210-pound native of Rock Hill, S.C., returned to the lineup last week in Calgary and settles into a crowded backfield that includes Daniel Porter, Jerome Messam and Calvin McCarty. Thats just fine with Whitlock. "The backfield used to be mine, Im the starter, Im coming on the field every time," Whitlock said Thursday after the Eskimos final walkthrough before Fridays home game against the Toronto Argonauts (1-3). "But Im a team guy, Im all about the team." You can watch the game in the second half of TSNs Wendys Friday Night Football doubleheader tonight at 9:30pm et/6:30pm pt. You can also catch live streaming on TSN.ca along with our live blog and also on TSN Mobile TV. The surprising Eskimos (4-0) are the CFLs lone undefeated team and a big reason for that is the players having bought into the team philosophy much like the running backs have done. "We all know the situation, you cant be I before the logo, it has to be team," said Whitlock who carried 10 times for 56 yards in his return against Calgary. "(Head coach) Kavis (Reed) did a good job explaining that to the team and as long as we follow that well be good. "We all dont care about the carries. Well get opportunities to play and at the end of the day its about what the team does and how we can help the team. We all know when we get the opportunity it could be short-lived or it could be long, but we have to do whats right for the team." Fifth-year Eskimo McCarty said having four running backs -- two imports and two non-imports -- helps everyone in the long run, especially the team. "At the end of the game if we have more ground yards than the other team, most likely we controlled the clock and we had success moving the ball, getting first downs... that translates into time of possession," he said. "IIf were running the ball were having success. nike air force 1 high sale. quot; The Eskimos lead the CFL in rushing with 517 yards, an average of 113 per game. Theyve ran the ball 113 times, taking pressure off the passing game, which is still No. 1 with 1,231 yards despite quarterback Ricky Ray throwing a league-low 119 times. Messam has rushed for 220 yards (5.1-yard average), McCarty for 84 yards (3.8-yard average) and Porter for 55 yards (2.9-yard average) and thus far no one seems to be complaining. "When you see guys not complaining about carries I think it moves other guys," said Whitlock. "I think thats what so special about this team, we dont have any I guys, everything is about the logo. "Thats part of our success so far." Reed said that was evident from before training camp even opened and has continued into the season. "We dont have to do very much to keep these guys motivated," he said. "Theyre doing the right things. "Theyre in the film room watching films by themselves, as a group, theyre working out after practice, taking care of their bodies so were blessed to have that group." And the accountability in the locker room is to be envied, he added. "We know the players are accountable to each other, theyre keeping each other in check," he said. "Theyre making certain guys are doing the right things and when we feel that someone is walking out of line a bit the guys are quick to reel him back in." The Eskimos will be without defensive end Greg Peach, who had knee surgery this week. His spot will also be filled somewhat by committee with newcomer Robert Henderson and rookie Jermaine Reid, who has been rotated into the line through the first four games to keep the line fresh, expected to get the most plays there. "We do know we have depth," Reed said of the defensive line. "We expect Henderson to step in... and be more than adequate and ready to compete at a level that will help us win. Reid has done an admirable job for us and we expect that to continue." The Raptors have been outscored 88-66 in the opening quarter over a three-game span to begin the month of February. Their most recent loss, 109-101 in Sacramento on Wednesday, was eerily similar to Saturdays defeat at the hands of the Trail Blazers. After digging themselves an early hole on both nights, the Raptors were unable to close out late-game comeback bids, forcing Casey to question his first units disposition. "Every team has their cross to bear and ours is starting games," he said after practice Thursday afternoon. "Whether weve got to change the lineup to start the game or whatever, I dont know we have to see." "Thats been our problem and it just didnt start [in Sacramento Wednesday], its been going on for a while. Weve been able to dig out of it but you cant get hit like that and expect to bounce back that way every game, it just takes too much of a toll on your body." In many ways the Raptors have been defeating themselves. Over that three-game stretch they held opponents to 43 per cent shooting in the first quarter, an impressive mark, but the hustle stats tell a different story. Toronto was out-rebounded in the opening 12 minutes of each game and put both Portland and Sacramento on the line 12 times. "We addressed it, we talked about it," Casey said, citing his teams focus, toughness and attention to detail. If Casey does opt to shake up his starting lineup in Los Angles, even temporarily, the most likely casualty would be slumping California-native Amir Johnson. Johnson has been hampered by a sore right ankle after turning it late in last weeks win over Orlando. He has logged fewer than 20 minutes in just six games this season, yet three of those have come in the last four contests. The forward has been Torontos most reliable and valuable player over the last three years but its clear he hasnt been himself, even before his most recent injury. wholesale nfl jerseys. After averaging 13.8 points and 8.3 rebounds on 63 per cent shooting in December, Johnsons production dropped last month, scoring 9.5 points and grabbing 6.0 rebounds a night. His 47 per cent field goal shooting in January was his lowest in a full month since March of 2011. As a team the Raptors surrendered 11 points more than they scored with Johnson on the floor in the month. Johnson, who routinely tops the team in the plus/minus stat, was the only Raptor (minimum 50 minutes) that was a net-minus in January, per NBA.com/stats. Mired in a similar slump, and with the team struggling late in November, Johnson was pulled from the starting lineup in favour of Tyler Hansbrough (Johnson told the Toronto Sun that he had requested a move to the bench). Johnson would go on to play his best basketball of the season over the following nine games, averaging 18.0 points and 9.6 rebounds on 68 per cent shooting, and getting his starting job back after three games when Hansbrough went down with an ankle injury. Poised to make a run at the playoffs, the Raptors need Johnson, a nine-year veteran, healthy and focused late in the season. Another temporary demotion could be in the best interest of both the Raptors and their best defensive player. Although Hansbrough could be a candidate to replace him should a change be made, without disrupting the chemistry of the second unit, he has fallen out of Caseys regular rotation since returning from injury. Patrick Patterson would seem to be the most logical choice. Often the first player of Torontos bench, Patterson has been consistently effective since coming over in the trade from Sacramento in December. The forward has scored in double figures in 12 of his last 20 games, averaging 11.1 points and 5.5 rebounds, shooting 52 per cent from the field and connecting on 17 of his 35 attempts from three-point range over that stretch. The Raptors have outscored opponents by 132 points when hes been on the floor during that span. SAO PAULO - Two-time race winner Will Power edged defending IndyCar Series champion Dario Franchitti to win the pole position for Sundays Sao Paulo 300. Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse . Power had a lap of 1 minute, 21.4045 seconds on the 2.5-mile, 11-turn Anhembi circuit on the streets of South Americas biggest city, less than half a tenth of a second ahead of Franchitti, whose Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon will start third. James Hinchcliffe, Ryan-Hunter Reay and Justin Wilson rounded the fastest six in qualifying on Saturday. Power is trying to win his third straight race in Sao Paulo. The Australian also won the last two races heading into Brazil and is the series points leader. "It was a good run," Power said. "We are giving ourselves the best opportunity for the first corner." The Australian also won the last two races heading into Brazil and is the series points leader. He will try to give Penske its fourth straight race to start the season for the first time in team history in IndyCar. Franchitti had been fastest in Saturdays practice but made a mistake in qualifying that he said was costly. "The car is very good," he said. "Im a little disappointed with myself, on that last lap I made a mistake." Qualifying was run under overcast skies but dry conditions. Rain affected the first two races won by Power in Brazil. The inaugural event was postponed for a day and last year the race was cut short. Some of the main changes to the track this year aimed to improve the drainage system at the street circuit. Officials also reduced a strong bump near the braking point for the first chicane, which drivers had complained about last year. "It is much better now, they were able to fix that," said Helio Castroneves, who qualified only 20th for his home race. It was the first time the cars were able to race after Honda was allowed to make changes to the turbochargers on its engines, giving the six teams using them an extra boost of power. Honda was permitted to make the change after a three-person panel on Thursday upheld an IndyCar decision against an appeal by Chevrolet. Power has a Chevrolet in his Penske, but six drivers using Honda engines will start in the top 10 on Sunday. "That helped as well," Franchitti said about the engine change. Lotus also is supplying engines to teams this season. IndyCar has multiple engine manufacturers for the first time in seven years. The best Brazilian driver was Tony Kanaan, who will start 12th.
