RT @TSN_Sports: @tsnjamesduthie: Take this Ellen.Leading up to SportsCentres Year In Review on Christmas Eve, TSN and TSN.ca look back at each of the Top 10 stories of 2013. Today, we look back at the Roberto Luongo saga. One thought he was on the way out. The other thought he was staying. Two summers ago, Vancouver Canucks goaltender Roberto Luongo was ready and willing to accept a trade out of town. What transpired afterwards was a lengthy whirlwind of speculation on when and where he would go. And its not like the Canucks didnt try. The team spent a full year attempting to deal the Luongo - and the nine years remaining on his $64 million contract. But nothing came of it, and the franchise goaltenders showed his frustration after the Apr. 3 trade deadline passed without a new address. "My contract sucks," said Luongo. "Thats what the problem is...unfortunately it is a big (factor) in trading for me. Id scrap it right now if I could." The offseason brought speculation once more that the Canucks would have another shot at getting Luongo out. But after months of failed attempts, the Canucks surprised pretty much everyone in the hockey world and traded Schneider instead. Even Luongo was shocked by the decision, after accepting the idea that he was the one that was on the move. "I had moved on from Vancouver and I was ready to start a fresh new chapter of my career somewhere else," the three-time NHL All-Star told TSNs James Duthie. "t;It felt like a divorce, I accepted it and I had moved on personally. Swingman JJ Redick Jersey. "The only problem was she wanted me back." And Luongo was even more surprised that the team would make such a decision without talking to him. "Out of all the situations that I envisioned, that wasnt one of them," he said. "Thats a pretty big move, I thought, to make without having input from the guy youre going to put your trust in." Schneider also described the trade as shocking, adding that after several seasons of expecting to be moved out of Vancouver, he had finally begun to believe he would stay. Schneider, who spent years developing as the Canucks No. 1 prospect, felt he earned the starting job. "It was pretty stunning," Schneider told Duthie. "In this business you know you are always in the mix, you are always fair game. I really felt that having spent my entire career there, having been in the organization a long time, I was hoping to spend the rest of my career in Vancouver. But circumstances changed. Its one of those things where unfortunately it came down to this." And after weeks of more speculation about whether or not he would return to Vancouver, Luongo confirmed he would report to the Canucks training camp in September as the teams starting goalie. "I have a contract. I plan to honour it," Luongo told Duthie. Theres a lot at stake for me this year." NFL Jerseys China cheap jerseys ' ' '

The NFL Players Association will conduct its own investigation into the Miami Dolphins bullying scandal, a person familiar with the situation said Wednesday. Richard Smith, outside counsel for the union in the New Orleans Saints bounty case, will investigate tackle Jonathan Martins allegations, the person confirmed. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the union hadnt announced its plans. Martin has said that he was harassed daily by teammates, including guard Richie Incognito, who has been suspended. Smith will examine the roles of coach Joe Philbin, his staff and Miami management, although its unknown whether they will be willing to meet with him. One issue is whether anyone on the coaching staff ordered Incognito to toughen up Martin, a second-year tackle from Stanford who became a starter as a rookie but played poorly at times. NFL special investigator Ted Wells has been questioning players, coaches and staff at the Dolphins complex this week. Wells was appointed by Commissioner Roger Goodell after Dolphins owner Stephen Ross asked the league to look into thee case. Rafinha Jersey. Ross formed two committees to study the matter and conceded changes are needed. John Denney, the Dolphins player representative, said theres no timeframe regarding how long Wells interviews with the Dolphins will last. Its unknown whether Wells has talked yet with centre Mike Pouncey, who was hospitalized last week with a gall bladder ailment, missed last weeks victory over San Diego and might be unavailable to play Sunday against Carolina. UNIONDALE, N. Devin McCourty Jersey .Y. -- The New York Islanders were seeking a positive finish to a frustrating season on home ice. Ottawas Jason Spezza and Craig Anderson did their best to block that effort. Spezza scored twice and Anderson made 45 saves as the Senators topped the Islanders 4-1 on Tuesday night. The Senators (34-31-14) will still miss the post-season for the first time since 2011 and just the third time since 1996. They were making their first appearance this season at Nassau Coliseum, and the Islanders won the previous two meetings in Ottawa. "It feels good to put together a team effort and come away with the win," Anderson said. "We played well." Matt Kassian scored an empty-net goal at 19:48, his first this season. Spezza, the Senators captain, had the chance for a hat trick, but instead passed to Kassian. Frans Nielsen scored the lone goal for the Islanders with his career-best 25th in the teams home finale. Anders Nilsson made 28 saves for the Islanders (31-37-11), who wont reach the playoffs for the sixth time in seven years. They finished 13-19-9 at home. "The effort has been there and will continue to be there," Islanders defenceman Travis Hamonic said. "Were going to keep pushing and playing hard until the end." Spezza opened the scoring on a tip-in at 12:45 of the second. Nielsen then tied it 22 seconds into the third. Rookie defenceman Kevin Czuczman and Josh Bailey had assists, giving Bailey points in six straight games. Spezzas go-ahead goal at 12:45 of the third came when his shot edged under crossbar behind Nilsson. Ales Hemsky, who assisted on both of Spezzas goals, added his 13th at 14:26 of the third to make it 3-1. The Islanders qualified for the post-season last year for the first time since 2007 and lost to the top-seeded Pittsburgh Penguins in a tough six-game opening-round series. But they never found firm footing this season after trading captain John Tavares longtime linemate Matt Moulson to Buffalo for Thomas Vanek on Oct. 27. They subsequently traded Vanek to Montreal at the March 5 deadline. The Islanders also had to contend with a litany of injuries to key players, particularly veteran defenceman Lubomir Visnovsky, who missed most of the season with a concussion and starting goaltender Evgeni Nabokov. Then, Tavares suffered a season-ending knee injury during the Winter Olympics in February. The Islanders have dressed at least nine rookies in their last nine games in which theyve gone 5-2-2. They are 7-4-2 in their last 13 contests. There are 11 rookies on the current roster: Defencemen Calvin de Haan, Scott Mayfield, Matt Donovan and Czuczman in addition to forwards Brock Nelson, Brett Gallant, Mike Halmo, Anders Lee, John Persson and Ryan Strome plus Nilsson. All but an injured de Haan played against the Senators. "Im proud of the young guys, they are playing hard," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. "When we get our team back next year and play the way we can play, I think we can make a push and get back to the dance." Gallant, 25, made his NHL debut. He had 245 penalty minutes in 56 games for Bridgeport of the AHL. The feisty forward levelled Kassian with a single punch midway through the first period. "He caught me with one," said Kassian, sporting a postgame bruise under his right eye. "Sometimes that happens in a fight, you get punched right in the face." The Islanders conclude their season with road games at Montreal, New Jersey and Buffalo. Ottawa hosts New Jersey and Toronto before finishing at Pittsburgh. NOTES: Islanders forward Cal Clutterbuck left during the first period with an upper-body injury and didnt return. ... Ottawa was without defencemen Colin Greening and Jared Cowen with lower-body injuries, plus forward Bobby Ryan (sports hernia). ... LOS ANGELES, Calif. Jesus Navas Manchester City Jersey . - Kobe Bryant tore his right rotator cuff in the Los Angeles Lakers latest defeat, the club announced Thursday.Bryant injured his right shoulder in the second half of the Lakers loss at New Orleans on Wednesday night when he drove the baseline for a two-handed dunk.An MRI exam Thursday in San Antonio revealed the tear, and Bryant headed home to Los Angeles while the Lakers prepared to play the Spurs on Friday. The Lakers are expected to release an update on Bryants condition Friday.Lakers coach Byron Scott and the team declined to speculate on the severity of Bryants injury, but many rotator cuff injuries require surgery and several months of rehabilitation. Bryant has a high pain threshold and an impressive ability to play through injury, but the Lakers have already been limiting Bryants playing time to preserve his health beyond this largely lost season for the 16-time NBA champion club.Later Thursday, Bryant was voted into a starting spot in the NBA All-Star game, but the 36-year-old guard could miss the Feb. 15 showcase for the second straight year due to injury. Bryant, a 17-time All-Star selection in his 19-year career, was voted a starter last year despite playing just six games before breaking a bone near his left knee and missing the rest of the season.Bryant has been selected for every All-Star game since missing out his rookie season in 1997. He is a four-time All-Star game MVP and the leading scorer in the events history, passing Michael Jordan in 2012.Bryant briefly returned to the Lakers game in New Orleans and played essentially with one arm after the injury, making a 14-foot jumper with his left hand. He is a right-handed shooter. After the game, Bryant said it felt as if his shoulder came out of joint a little bit on the dunk.I felt fine when I went up, and didnt feel too good when I came down, he said.Bryant downplayed the injury immediately after the game, apparently suspecting he had a torn labrum in his shoulder. Bryant has played through similar injuries before. But the superstars famed ability to play through pain has been seriously challenged in the past three seasons, ever since he tore his Achilles tendon in April 2013.Bryant is the third-leading scorer in NBA history but had played in just six games over the previous 18 months before this season began after recovering from those two major leg injuries.Bryant has sat out eight games in the past month strictly to rest, and he has played recent games under a stringent minutes limit. The Lakers have acknowledged discussions about limiting his minutes even more severely down the stretch for the last-place club, which, at 12-31, is highly unlikely to make a playoff run.Scott has said he is attempting to preserve his superstar through the length of his contract, which extends to next season.Bryant is the NBAs highest-paid player this season, making $23.5 million this year and $25 million next.Bryant is averaging 22.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game while making only 37.2 per cent of his shots. The Lakers already have lost three key players for the entire year. Guard Steve Nash was ruled out with back problems in training camp, while rookie first-round pick Julius Randle broke his leg on opening night. Swingman Xavier Henry tore his Achilles tendon in November and was subsequently waived. Willy Caballero Jersey . Next up are the Philadelphia Flyers, hoping they have enough to at least maintain last years playoff position. Catch up on their summer moves and the issues they face this season, as well as Craig Buttons analysis of their top prospect and an analytical breakdown by TSNs Scott Cullen. Division: Metropolitan GM: Ron Hextall Head Coach: Craig Berube 2013-14: 42-30-10 (3rd in Metropolitan) Playoffs: Lost in conference quarter-finals Goals For: 233 (8th) Goals Against: 227 (20th) Powerplay: 19.7% (8th) Penalty Kill: 84.8% (7th) That Was Then: Losing seven of your first eight games is never a desirable way to begin a season, but thata€?s the reality the Flyers made for themselves in 2013-14. The losing streak, which extended to nine of the teama€?s first 12 games, set off a trend that unfolded for the entirety of the campaign. The start cost Peter Laviolette his coaching job (after just three games!), with Philly handing Craig Berube the reins on an interim basis on Oct. 7. The former grinder was eventually able to turn the team around, but the shift was not instantaneous. It took until after Christmas for the Flyers to get their first handle on playoff position and that turnaround was largely thanks to two factors. The first was that the Metropolitan Division was not very competitive in the early-going, with the third spot in the division taking fewer points to get hold of than the final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference. The second was Claude Giroux playing out of his mind in December and continuing his hot play throughout the second half. The Flyers captaina€?s nine-game point streak began in Chicago and wasna€?t snapped until New Yeara€?s Eve, including six multi-point games over the span. The Olympic break provided an opportunity for a lot of the Flyersa€? top talent to get a breather with its Canadian core a€“ including Giroux a€“ left out of the nationa€?s Sochi plans. Philly finished strong, securing points in 16 of its final 22 that amazingly includes a stretch that saw them lose six of seven. Finishing third in the Metropolitan, the Flyers earned a first-round date with the team theya€?d battled in the standings for much of the spring: the New York Rangers. The team suffered an untimely injury, though, in their final meeting of the season with their intrastate rivals from Pittsburgh as netminder Steve Mason sustained an upper body injury on Apr. 12. The injury a€“ which Mason later revealed was a concussion a€“ kept him off the ice for the first three games of the first round. He came back with the team in a 1-2 hole but despite holding the Rangers to two goals or less in three of the four games he played, the Flyers were sent packing in seven. Sergio Aguero Jersey. Luckily for Hextall, there was not a lot of heavy lifting to be done in terms of shaping the roster. The forwards were a balanced group, with seven scoring 20 or more in 2013-14, including first-timer Brayden Schenn and nearly-old-timer Vincent Lecavalier. Hextall moved one of those seven out in his biggest off-season move, trading popular vet and one of the gamea€?s best combinations of grit and skill in Scott Hartnell to Columbus to reacquire R.J. Umberger, who broke into the NHL with Philly in 2005. The Flyers now have a couple years to work with the existing roster, since the majority of the current club has at least two years contract remaining, highlighted by the eight-year extension Giroux signed in the middle of last season. Six years may have been a long term to give Andrew MacDonald, but the team got an up-close look at him down the stretch and seems to have liked what it saw. With Kimmo Timonen out indefinitely, there will be some pressure on MacDonald, along with veterans Braydon Coburn and Mark Streit, to handle big minutes on the Flyers blue line. Hextall also rolled the dice on a low-risk addition, signing Michael del Zotto to a $1.3 million free agent deal in hopes that the 24-year-old can regain the form that had many projecting him as an elite offensive blue liner earlier in his career. Flyer great Bob Clarke to current star Claude Giroux, embody requisite qualities of skill, fire and an indomitable will to win. Scott has no less of these qualities. Hes an excellent playmaker and his vision and anticipation allows him to be dangerous with the puck. He plays in the guts of the action, is not deterred in any way and he will do whatever is necessary to help the team win regardless if it may stretch the boundaries of the rules. A player Flyers fans will come to love. Fantasy - Cullens Player to Watch - Vincent Lecavalier This may qualify as wishful thinking, considering that Lecavalier is a 34-year-old coming off a season that was his least productive, on a points-per-game basis, since he was an 18-year-old rookie. Its not typical to get bounce-back years in a players mid-thirties, and Lecavaliers underlying numbers have been headed in the wrong direction for a while, but there is room in the Philadelphia lineup for Lecavalier to play a supporting offensive role. Given his contract, that may not be the ideal, but better to find a way to get 20-plus goals out of Lecavalier while using him in favourable matchups, in the hopes of trying to recapture some value. PRETORIA, South Africa - The murder trial of Oscar Pistorius, set to open Monday, marks the start of a dramatic new chapter in the life of the double-amputee athlete who ran at the Olympics and became a global star before he shot his girlfriend to death. Sebastian Eriksson Sweden Jersey . Prosecutors charged the 27-year-old Pistorius with murder in Reeva Steenkamps death and say it was with premeditation. They say they will seek a life sentence if Pistorius is convicted, the sternest punishment available in South Africa. South Africa no longer has the death penalty. The intense public interest in the Pistorius trial is shown by the launching Sunday night of a 24-hour cable channel devoted to covering the court case. If convicted on the murder charge, Pistorius could be sent to prison for at least 25 years before the chance of parole, the minimum time someone must serve if given a life sentence in South Africa. He would be older than 50 before he could be released. The state says Pistorius intentionally killed Steenkamp at his home in the pre-dawn hours of Valentines Day last year by shooting her through a toilet door after an argument. Pistorius denies murder and says he killed his girlfriend by mistake when he fired four times through the door thinking there was a dangerous nighttime intruder on the other side. A lesser sentence is possible if Pistorius is found guilty of murder but without premeditation. He also could be convicted of culpable homicide, South Africas version of manslaughter in which someone is killed through negligence. Pistorius claims he was acting in self-defence against what he believed at the time was a threat to his life. As well as murder, Pistorius faces a second charge of illegal possession of ammunition for bullets found at his Pretoria house that he allegedly didnt have proper licensing for. Prosecutors say he also will be indicted Monday with two more gun charges relating to him allegedly shooting in public on two separate occasions before Steenkamps killing. The serving of an updated indictment to Pistorius in court is expected to be the first move at the trial at Pretorias high court. He has not yet been formally served with the papers that include all four charges against him, although his lawyers have had the papers and details of the additional gun charges since last year, prosecutors say. The gun charges reportedly relate to him allegedly shooting out the sunroof of a car in one incident and another when he allegedly fired a gun inside a restaurant, apparently by mistake. Those incidents happened in the court jurisdiction of the city of Johannesburg, not where Steenkamp was killed in Pretoria, and prosecutors applied to have the two charges included and heard at his murder trial. Female judge Thokozile Masipa will ultimately pronounce the champion runner innocent or guilty and will decide on any sentence. South Africa has no trial by jury. Parts of the trial will be broadcast on live television, both in South Africa and across the world, and hundreds of reporters are expected to descend on North Gauteng High Court in the South African capital for the start of the trial. The 24-hour cable channel devoted solely to the trial will continue until the case is finished. The trial will deal with the bloody killing of a 29-year-old model and law graduate, but also the issue of gun ownership and South Africas problem of violent crime, which Pistorius says was the reason why he kept his licensed 9 mm handgun under his bed. Pistorius says his fear of crime was why he fired four shots through the door, hitting Steenkamp three times — in the head, elbow and hip. Prosecutors maintain he was simply angry with her after an argument. Members of Pistorius family will likely attend the trial, as they did on his previous court hearings. His uncle, Arnold Pistorius, sister Aimee and brother Carl are all also listed as state witnesses. "We love Oscar, and believe in him, and will be standing by him throughout the coming trial," Arnold Pistorius said in a statement over the weekend. For the first time, members of Steenkamps family will also be in the courtroom according to a family statement that her mother June and others would be at the trial. The parents and close relatives of Steenkamp did not attend any of Pistorius previous court appearances. "All we are looking for is closure and to know that our daughter did not suffer on that tragic Valentines Day," Steenkamps parents said in a statement this month and days before the one-year anniversary of the shooting that stunned South Africa. Brown hit his 20th home run and tied a career high with four RBIs, and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 6-2 Tuesday night. "I was looking changeup," said Brown, "It was the only fastball I had seen from him in three at-bats. So I was just trying hit something in the middle the other way and I just reacted to the ball. "I just wanted to keep the swing short and quick and made that adjustment." Marquis (9-3), who had won eight straight decisions over his last 11 starts, went 4 1-3 innings, giving up six runs on six hits, walking five and striking out four to take the loss. "It was a fastball, up and out over the plate," Marquis said of the pitch Brown hit out. "Its 2-0 -- a hitters count -- and he put the barrel on the ball." He allowed back-to-back walks on eight pitches to Ryan Howard and Brown in the fifth inning, which led to Marquis exit from the game and contributed to three more runs by the Phillies, who took their 6-2 lead. Philadelphia parlayed singles by Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley along with three walks, a wild pitch and a sacrifice fly by John Mayberry Jr. for the three runs. Marquis, who hadnt lost a game since April 22 against Milwaukee, leads the majors in walks with 53. He has had four or more walks in 11 of his 16 starts. The Padres have lost five of eight since a season-high seven-game win streak. "Its always nice to pitch eight innings," said Kendrick. "That was a good win for us. I was throwing my cutter a lot more than usual tonight. That home run by Brown was big particularly after we gave up two and to come back and take the lead." Brown, who walked with the bases-loaded in the fifth to drive in a run, had hit a three-run homer off Marquis in the third for a 3-2 lead. Rollins walked to lead off the third and stole second. NEW YORK -- Pirates manager Clint Hurdle had good reason to call upon Gaby Sanchez to bat for Ike Davis. Ezekiel Elliott Cowboys Jersey . Sanchez tagged the Mets again, delivering a pinch-hit home run in the eighth inning and a tiebreaking single in the ninth that rallied Pittsburgh over New York 5-3 on Monday. Sanchez has a .324 average with nine homers and 34 RBIs vs. New York, matching or topping his bests against any NL team. He lost playing time after Davis was acquired in a trade with the Mets in mid-April. "Ikes a good player and hes been swinging the bat really well. Hes been one of the hottest bats on the team. So, hes going to play and I understand that," Sanchez said about Davis, who was making his return to Citi Field. "My role is to keep that going whenever I get my chance, keep that going and help the team win." The Mets announced after their ninth loss in 12 games that they had fired hitting coach Dave Hudgens. New York also cut reliever Jose Valverde soon after he gave up Sanchezs go-ahead hit. Valverde (1-1) was booed off the field after allowing pinch-hitter Jose Tabatas tying single in the eighth. Valverde returned for the ninth and was even worse, yielding four runs overall. "Dont think for one second that theres not a guy in there that realizes that this is part of it. We just released one of the best professionals I ever been around in Jose Valverde," a fired-up Collins said. "You deal with it, and if you cant you dont belong in the game." Mets minor league hitting co-ordinator Lamar Johnson will take Hudgens place. Right-hander Vic Black is being recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas to fill Valverdes spot. With one out in the ninth, Valverde gave up a single to Neil Walker and walked Andrew McCutchen. Sanchez fouled off a fastball, losing hold of the bat, which spun toward the Pirates dugout and hit a batboy in the legs. The batboy smiled and on-deck hitter Russell Martin checked to see if he was OK. Sanchez then singled to left, scoring Walker. Juan Centeno couldnt handle Curtis Grandersons throw that bounced to the right of the plate and skittered past Valverde, who was backing up but way too close to the catcher. McCutchen scored on Grandersons error for a two-run lead. Martin added an RBI double for Pittsburgh, which rebounded from a loss to Washington on Sunday after a season-high four straight wins. "This mentality in the dugout is, This is the inning. Even if we get pushed down, the next inning well make something," Hurdle said. "Youve got to be relentless. You cant get sad." Tony Watson (5-0) pitched an inning for the win. Mark Melancon got his 10th save. Davis drew a warm reception from the Memorial Day crowd of 29,309, opposite of what he predicted during a pregame chat in the visitors dugout. Popular with fans in his four-plus seasons, he went 0 for 2 with a walk. Slumping Lucas Duda homered off Melancon to start the ninth. The homer was the first off Melancon in 86 innings, since April 14, 2013. New York took a 2-0 lead in the fifth on Daniel Murphys single, Pittsburghs third error of the game and a favourable review under the new home plate collision rule. But the Mets bullpen wasted a fine start by Jacob deGrom. The 25-year-old deGrom pitched 6 2-3 scoreless innings in his third career start, allowing five hits. He laboured early but settled in to throw 122 pitches. Brandon Cumpton was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis to take the place of Wandy Rodriguez, who was designated for assignment Thursday, and matched deGrom into the fifth. With the help of an umpires review, New York took the lead. The Mets two-out rally was started by -- who else? -- deGrom. He lined a single to left field for his second hit of the day and advanced when Juan Lagares walked. A college shortstop, deGrom is now 4 for 5 as a big league batter. "I guess Ive been seeing the ball pretty well," deGrom said. Murphy lined a single to right field and deGrom scored easily. Josh Harrisons throw to third skipped passed third baseman Pedro Alvarez and Lagares scampered home. The ball took a good bounce back to Alvarez off the protective fence in front of the Pirates dugout and he made a quick throw home. Martin set up to the left of home plate but stuck his leg out, blocking Lagares path before the ball arrived. Umpire Laz Diaz initially called Lagares out, but Colliins asked crew chief Jeff Nelson to review the play under new rule 7.13, covering collisions at the plate. After a delay of 3 minutes, 4 seconds, Lagares was called safe and Murphy was awarded second base on the play home. "Weve encouraged our guys to play the game, do what you feel athletically moved to do knowing what the options are," Hurdle said. NOTES: The Mets placed OF Eric Young Jr. on the DL because of a right hamstring strain. They recalled OF Matt den Dekker from Triple-A Las Vegas to take his place. ... The Pirates designated RHP Vin Mazzaro for assignment to make room for Cumpton. ... Up Next: Pirates RHP Edinson Volquez (2-4) faces Mets LHP Jonathon Niese (3-3) on Tuesday night. Doug Free Cowboys Jersey .com) - Mike Conley scored 20 points with five assists to help the Memphis Grizzlies remain unbeaten with a 91-89 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday. Emmitt Smith Cowboys Jersey . Once again, the third baseman delivered in a big spot. Ramirez kept up his torrid hitting with a two-run homer to help back Wily Peraltas solid start, and the Brewers extended their winning streak to seven with a 4-2 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Friday night. http://www.footballcowboysstore.us/authentic-ronald-leary-cowboys-jersey/ . CLEVELAND -- His arms folded across his chest, New York Knicks coach Mike Woodson watched helplessly as three Cleveland players streaked past him on the way to an uncontested layup. Adam Bedell Jersey . Woodson couldnt stop the Cavaliers. Right now, he cant do much about his sinking Knicks either. Kyrie Irving had 37 points and 11 assists and Jarrett Jack added 17 points, leading the Cavs to a 109-94 victory over the hard-to-figure Knicks on Tuesday night. Fresh off an embarrassing 41-point loss at home to Boston on Sunday, New York dropped to 5-15 and made Woodsons future even more uncertain. The Knicks have lost 11 of 13. "I dont have the answer to what we have to do," Carmelo Anthony said. "You cant coach or you cant teach energy. The losing is becoming unacceptable. Hopefully, everybody feels like that. I cant be the only one who is feeling like that." Irving scored 12 points in the third quarter, when the Cavs outscored the defenceless Knicks 33-20 and pulled away. Tristan Thompson added 12 points -- two on a ferocious put-back dunk -- and had nine rebounds as Cleveland won its fourth straight at home. Anthony scored 29 points and Amare Stoudemire had 15 for the Knicks, who erased an early 18-point deficit, gave it all back, fell behind by 19 and werent aggressive. New York attempted just five three throws. "This is all new to me," Stoudemire said. "Ive never been 5-15 before in my career. The only thing we can do is stay positive." Anthony said there are bigger things to worry about than any looming changes. "If we start thinking about that, were going to be 5-25," he said. "It will all go downhill." After being outscored 22-4 during one stretch of the second quarter, the Knicks got it together -- briefly. New York only trailed by three at halftime and the Knicks were showing some signs of life, one game after enduring the most lopsided loss in the NBA this season. Anthonys 3-pointer pulled New York within 53-52, but Thompson scored on a sensational, one-handed dunk, triggering an 8-0 run that made it 61-52. "I did take it out on the rim," said Thompson, who was frustrated by early foul trouble. "Sorry, rim." Irving hit a 3-pointer, and moments later, Clevelands Alonzo Gee tipped the ball away from New York guard Pablo Prigioni near midcourt. Gee picked up the loose ball and led a three-on-none Cavs break past Woodson, who stood on the sideline unable to prevent Cleveland from scoring another easy basket. The Cavs pushed their lead to 88-69 in the fourth quarter before the Knicks made one last run, getting within 90-77 on a jumper by Andrea Bargnani. But Jack hit a 3-pointer, Irving made one from long range and Cleveland finished off its largest win this season. With four wins in five games, the Cavs are beginning to shake out of their early season funk under coach Mike Brown. "We knew it was going to take some time," said Brown, in his second stint with Cleveland. "We knew we were going to take our lumps." Looking for a spark and some inside muscle at both ends to offset the loss of Tyson Chandler and Kenyon Martin, Woodson started Metta World Peace, who came off the bench in New Yorks first 19 games. "Metta has earned the right to be out there," Woodson said. "Hes patiently waited for his opportunity." Woodsons opportunity, on the other hand, could be ending. On Monday, New Yorks third-year coach said hes "up to the task" of fixing the Knicks. He may not have much more time to get them repaired. After the game, Woodson said he hopes to still be around when Chandler and Martin return. "Hopefully, Ill get a full deck and see where we are," he said. When the final horn sounded, Knicks assistant coach Herb Williams helped Woodson get out of his courtside chair by pushing him from behind. He may soon be pushed aside, but Anthony feels Woodson can still fix the Knicks. "Weve got to help him figure it out," Anthony said. "Hes not going to do it by himself. Weve got to help each other figure this out." NOTES: Chandler, out since Nov. 5 with a broken right leg, began practicing earlier this week and is encouraged by his progress. Chandler doesnt know exactly when hell be back in the lineup. "Im close. Im not that close," he said. "I know Im not game ready. I want to be able to get back on the court and give my team something as well as protect myself. When youre coming back from an injury, you just cant jump out there and not be afraid." ... He insists hes not counting. "If youre thinking hits, youre not paying attention to wins," Altuve said Sunday after leading the Houston Astros past the Texas Rangers 3-2. BALTIMORE -- The Baltimore Orioles used their most potent weapon -- the long ball -- to complete a satisfying sweep of the New York Yankees. Chris Davis set a franchise record by hitting his 31st home run before the All-Star break, and Manny Machado and Nate McLouth also connected in a 4-2 victory Sunday night. The Orioles increased their major-league leading home run total to 115 with three in the opening three innings against Hiroki Kuroda (7-6). Davis, meanwhile, has six more homers than anyone else in the big leagues after hitting three in the last two games. His second-inning drive broke Brady Andersons franchise record for home runs before the All-Star Game. Anderson had 30 in 1996 en route to hitting 50 for the season, a team record that still stands. The Orioles tagged seven homers in their first three-game sweep of the Yankees since 2005. New York may have eliminated Baltimore from the playoffs last October, but at this point, the Orioles appear to have the upper hand on their injury-riddled rivals. "I think its always a statement whenever you sweep anybody," Davis said. "I think its been big for us. I think its our first one this year. Weve always put emphasis on winning series and making sure we at least win the majority of the games, but when you can get a sweep, especially against a team in the division, its huge." Chris Tillman (10-2) gave up two runs and five hits over six innings to win his sixth straight start and reach a career high for wins in a season. The right-hander is 7-0 in eight starts since May 19. Jim Johnson worked the ninth to earn his 28th save. Baltimore is 6-3 against New York this season, 5-1 at home. Robinson Cano homered for the Yankees, who have lost five straight -- matching their longest skid of the year -- and 13 of 18. New York dropped into fourth place in the AL East, 6 1/2 games behind division leader Boston. "There are a lot of things that go on in life that are struggles that you go through, and you have to figure out how to get through them," manager Joe Girardi said. "This is like life. Everything is not going to be easy. You find ways to get through it. Im not going to get frustrated. I know the effort these guys are putting in. Im going to stick uup for them. Julian Green USA Jersey. " Kuroda went six-plus innings. The three homers he allowed were a season high, after allowing only two homers in his previous four starts. "He didnt give up a lot of hits but the hits he did they were loud and they were home runs," Girardi said. The Orioles activated Brian Roberts from the disabled list, where he had languished since April 5 with a right hamstring injury. Batting ninth as Baltimores designated hitter, Roberts went 1 for 2 with a sacrifice fly in his fourth game of the season. "If you are going to be out there you want to contribute," he said. "You dont want to be the weak link in the chain and there are some pretty strong links in this chain." Machado got Baltimore a first-inning run with his first homer since May 5. The Yankees tied it in the second when Brett Gardner drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs, but Tillman avoided further damage by retiring Ichiro Suzuki on a popup. Davis opened the bottom half with an opposite-field drive to left field, his second career homer against Kuroda in 15 at-bats. A solo shot by McLouth made it 3-1 in the third, his fourth hit in 24 career at-bats against Kuroda. Robinson hit his team-leading 17th homer in the sixth, and Roberts made it 4-2 in the seventh with a run-scoring fly ball. VANCOUVER - DeMar DeRozan dribbled around opponents and drove to the basket with grace and ease Sunday night. Angel Di Maria Jersey .If the Toronto Raptors hope to head into this season riding the momentum built during last seasons playoff run, it appears DeRozan already is.The Raptors all-star scored 21 points in 21 minutes to lead the Raptors to a 99-94 victory over the Sacramento Kings in their pre-season opener as the NBA returned to Vancouver for one day. Efficient, said Raptors coach Dwane Casey. Hes smart, under control, he really did a good job just being efficient with his play. DeRozan, who spent a good chunk of his summer helping the United States to gold at the FIBA World Cup, wasnt quite as kind in his self-assessment.I felt rusty, man, said DeRozan a€” although there was no discernable rust.Ive been playing different type of international rules for a month and a half. . . A lot of my moves that I usually do, especially now that I added so many counters to a lot of the moves that I did, I was second-guessing, he explained. It probably didnt look like it, but I was out there second-guessing a lot of things, I could have made it a little bit easier. Its something Ill get more comfortable with as I continue playing.Jonas Valanciunas and newcomer Lou Williams, a nine-year veteran acquired by Toronto in June, added 12 points apiece. Terrence Ross and Tyler Hansbrough finished with 11 points each in front of a sellout Rogers Arena crowd of 18,630 that included former Canucks star Trevor Linden and B.C. premier Christy Clark.Ramon Sessions led the Kings with 14 points, while DeMarcus Cousins and Darren Collison had 13 points each, and Canadian Nik Stauskas had 12 in his NBA debut. The Raptors trailed the Kings 75-68 heading into the fourth quarter, but an unlikely three-pointer by Tyler Hansbrough a€” that brought the Toronto players off the bench in celebration a€”a€” tied the game 75-75.He been working on it, DeRozan said of Hansbroughs three. I called him (former Raptors three-point specialist) Steve Novak the other day.We really value the corner three, Hansbrough explained of his decision to add the long-range shot to his game. To be honest with you, it was a long process, especially for a guy who didnt shoot threes. Im definitely not a three-point shooter. I worked with a shooting coach (Mike Hollis in North Carolina) all summer. It was almost like we kind of changed a lot of what I was doing. A lot of it is just having the confidence to be able to do it.Hansbrough connected on a pair of free throws with 1:40 to play to put Toronto up by one, then Williams converted a three-point play and Toronto led by four with just over a minute to go, as the Raptors romped to victory. The Raptors went a franchise-best 48-34 and made their first post-season appearance in six seasons. Their thrilling series against the Brooklyn Nets ended in a heartbreak a€” a one-point loss in Game 7.The Raptors hope to go into this season riding the wave of momentum established last season, and coach Casey said the goal Sunday was to establish a habit of playing hard, especially on the defensive end.Whether we win lose or draw is not important in these types of games, Casey said. What is important is our defensive approach and I thought we didnt come out in the third quarter with our starters with that defensive intensity, that zeal that you have to have. The Kings outrebounded the Raptors 45-30, with former Raptor Reggie Evans leading the way with 13.The Raptors are trying to firmly entrench the squad as Canadas team, and there was a real sense the team was in town this week with Raptors billboards overlooking downtown Vancouver streets and ads playing on TV screens. We The North T-shirts and flags dotted Rogers Arena a€” normally home to the Vancouver Canucks a€” along with numerous teal Vancouver Grizzlies jerseys from the citys old team that moved to Memphis in 2001.It was amazing, DeRozan said. I was on the bench with Amir (Johnson) and Amir said This is crazy, it sounds like a playoff game, and it really did. The energy in here tonight for a pre-season game was definitely amazing, and we are very appreciative of it because we are Canadas team. To come to the other side of Canada and get this kind of reception is amazing. One row of fans held a big Vancouver Wants NBA banner. The game marked a decent debut for Stauskas. The 20-year-old shooting guard from Mississauga, Ont., picked No. 8 by the Kings in last summers NBA draft, played 26 minutes, connecting on his first shot attempt, a three-pointer.Sim Bhullar, a seven-foot-five centre from Toronto, is in camp with the Kings, becoming the first player of Indian descent to sign an NBA contract. Bhullar subbed in for the final 19 seconds of the game. The game capped the Raptors west coast training camp. The team had spent the better part of the week training at Fortius Sport & Health in Burnaby, B.C.Casey went with last years starters a€” Lowry, Ross, DeRozan, Amir Johnson and Valanciunas a€” and the Raptors led 20-17 to end the first quarter.Ross came off the bench to score eight points in the second a€” treating the crowd to a thunderous dunk a€” and the Raptors took a 47-42 into the halftime break.Raptors rookies Bruno Caboclo, picked 20th overall in the draft last June, and Lucas Nogueira, didnt play. Theyll head to Sacramento to face the Kings again on Tuesday. They host the Boston Celtics at the Air Canada Centre on Friday. Theyll host Atlanta in their regular-season opener on Oct. 29. Chapman made his first major league appearance since being hit above the eye by a line drive during spring training, striking out the side in the ninth with his 100 mph fastball to close out the Cincinnati Reds 4-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies 4-1 Sunday. "I am really happy to get out there for the first time," said Chapman through a translator. "They are a good team but I was mentally prepared to face them. Facing those type of hitters make you feel better, than if you just break the ice." Chapman walked Troy Tulowitzki, who started the day leading the National League with a .405 batting average, but had an easy inning. Todd Frazier hit his second 400-foot home run in three days to back Homer Baileys shutdown pitching as Cincinnati won the rubber match of its three-game series with Colorado. "It was great to see Aroldis. The confidence and determination he had was very cool," said Frazier without a thought to his second home run of the series or his 11-game hitting streak. Chapman was greeted by a standing ovation from the crowd of 33,143. He reached 100 mph with his first pitch and topped out at 102 mph in earning the save. Chapman had been out since being hit above the left eye by a line drive during a spring training game on March 19. "I was excited to get back but I was even more excited when I heard the fans," said the 26-year old Cuban. Chapman was hit hard in his in his last two rehab starts in Louisville, allowing eight earned runs in one inning over the two-game stint. "As much as you want guys to treat those assignments like a normal game, they dont always have the same focus," Reds manager Bryan Price said. "The reports we had said he was throwing the ball well. He made some big pitchers to get some good hitters out." Skip Schumaker drove in two runs and the Reds capitalized on two Colorado throwing errors to send the Rockies to their third loss in four games. Besides contributing two sacrifice bunts, Bailey (3-2) limited a Colorado offence that produced 11 runs and 16 hits on Saturday night to one run -- Charlie Blackmons ninth homer of the season and second in two games -- and four hits with two walks and six strikeouts in 7 1-3 innings. "Homer worked with (pitching coach) Jeff Pico to raise his hands above his head during his wind up," Price said. Bailey, who signed a $105 million contract in March, struggled through his first seven starts. He began the game with an ERA at 5.. Hervin Ongenda Paris Saint-Germain Jersey. 6. "I had to do something," Bailey said. "I had to figure something out. There was nowhere else to go but to be better." Manny Parra got the final two outs of the eighth inning. The Reds snapped Nolan Arenados streak of getting on base at 30 consecutive games, two days after his hitting streak was stopped at a franchise-record 28 games. "Chapman threw the ball very well," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. "He used his splitter well to left-handed hitters. He was on today." Juan Nicasio (4-2), whod won his previous two starts, allowed five hits and four runs -- two earned -- with one walk and three strikeouts. Billy Hamilton, making his first start since spraining two knuckles on his left hand while making a diving catch on May 1, led off the first inning with a bunt single up the first base line and went all the way to third on first baseman Justin Morneaus throwing error. Hamilton scored on Schumakers groundout to second baseman DJ LeMahieu. The Reds made it 2-0 in the third on Ramon Santiagos leadoff bloop single to left field, Baileys sacrifice, a Nicasio balk while facing Hamilton and Schumakers soft, two-out liner to centre field. Blackmon became the first Rockie to reach base when he led off the fourth with an estimated 380-foot shot into the right field seats on a 2-2 pitch. Frazier got that run back with his seventh homer of the season, an estimated 421-foot drive to centre field on a 2-2 pitch with one out in the fourth inning that extended his career-high hitting streak to 11 games (13 for 42, .310). Frazier reached an estimated 485 feet with a home run on Friday. The Reds used another throwing error to take a 4-1 lead in the fifth. With Santiago on third base and Hamilton on second and two outs, third baseman Arenados high throw to Morneau on Brandon Phillips two-out grounder pulled the first baseman off the bag. Phillips slid under the attempted tag while Santiago scored. NOTES: Blackmons homer was Colorados 20th of the season with two strikes. ... Reds RHP Mat Latos threw a bullpen session before the game, the next step in his comeback from a flexor mass strain in his right elbow that has kept him out all season. Latos had surgery to remove bone chips from the elbow shortly after the 2013 season and needed surgery on February 14 to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. He has won 14 games in each of his first two seasons with Cincinnati. ... Colorado and Cincinnati both have Monday off. The Rockies are scheduled to open a two-game interleague series at Kansas City on Tuesday, the same day the Reds are due to open a three-game home series against San Diego. ST. John Hannah Patriots Jersey . LOUIS -- When Cardinals manager Mike Matheny came to the mound in the seventh inning, Adam Wainwright focused on recording another out. Matheny left his ace in for one more hitter with two on and Wainwright responded with one more big pitch, and then left the mound with a whoop in a 5-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Thursday night. "That was a couple weeks of frustration built up, just not making a pitch when I needed to," Wainwright said. "He just came out and gave me a little pep talk. "Hes a motivational speaker guy, hes very good at that." Yoenis Cespedes took a third strike on a full-count curveball and catcher Tony Cruz sprinted to the dugout before home plate umpire Gary Cederstrom raised his right arm. "Hes one of the top pitchers and when they get into trouble they find ways to get out of it," Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia said. "Thats what he did. Thats why hes one of the best." Wainwright recovered from a shaky start to earn his 14th win, tying for the major league lead, and rookie Kolten Wong homered twice. "Hes got really impressive bat speed, always has," Matheny said of Wong. "You dont have to cheat. You just take the head of the bat to the ball and watch it jump." Jhonny Peraltas two-run double keyed a three-run first off Brandon Workman and Wong had his first multihomer game. The Cardinals took two of three from their stripped-down opponents, who beat them in the World Series last fall but are in last place in the AL East. "That first inning is kind of notorious in his career," Red Sox manager John Farrell said of Workman. Wainwright (14-6) needed 66 pitches to slog through the first three innings after the start was delayed by rain for more than an hour for the second straight night. The 6-foot-7 right-hander retired 11 in a row before the seventh. Wainwright has won at least 14 games each of the last three seasons. Wily Peralta won his 14th game earlier Thursday for the NL Central-leading Brewers, who are one game ahead of St. Louis. Workman (1-5) retired nine straight before Wong lined a 1-0 pitch over the right-field wall with one out in the fifth to put the Cardinals up 4-2. Wong then added his ninth homer in the seventh, a 423-foot shot off Craig Breslow. Mike Napoli and Christian Vasquez each drove in a run in the third, Wainwrights roughest inning. He had seven strikeouts and allowed seven hits, four of them in the third. SLOW STARTERS Workman has totalled 70 pitches in the first inning his last two starts, allowing five runs. He faced eight batters in St. Louis three-run first. TRAINERS ROOM Red Sox: David Ortiz was scratched because of concerns with wet grounds and Napoli got the start at first base instead. Ortiz pinch-hit in the eighth and lined out. Allen Craig (left foot sprain) is visiting with specialist Dr. Robert Anderson in Charlotte, N.C., on Friday and will rejoin the team in Los Angeles. Cardinals: Closer Trevor Rosenthal made his fourth straight appearance in a five-day span on Wednesday and took the loss, surrendering the go-ahead run. He didnt warm up during the finale. All-Star setup man Pat Neshek finished for his third save in five chances, and first since June 17. "(Rosenthal) could have said whatever he wanted to say, it didnt really matter tonight," Matheny said. ON DECK The Cardinals sent Justin Masterson (1-0, 7.50 ERA) ahead to Baltimore, where he will oppose Chris Tillman (8-5, 3.78 ERA) on Friday night. He is 2-3 with a 6.98 ERA in six starts at Camden Yards. The Red Sox begin a three-game series at Los Angeles, with Allen Webster (1-1, 6.75 ERA) opposing the Angels Jered Weaver (12-6, 3.59 ERA). NOTABLE The Cardinals have won all four interleague series against the Red Sox and are 8-4 overall. ... Nix is a career .218 hitter in 425 games over six seasons. The 31-year-old right-handed hitter batted .270 with a homer this spring for Tampa Bay.BRADENTON, Florida - J.A. Happ was pummeled by the Pirates on Tuesday, leaving general manager Alex Anthopoulos with an unappealing conundrum: its become easier for him to sell to the fan base the idea of having $12.7-million (Ricky Romeros and Happs combined 2014 salaries) of dead or differently-allocated money than it is to sell the fan base on including the left-hander in the opening day starting rotation. Happ faced 20 batters in three-plus innings. Twelve of them got hits, including Pittsburgh starter Wandy Rodriguez, who hit a wind-aided, opposite field, two-run home run to cap a four-run second inning. Rodriguez had never homered in 437 career major league at-bats. Happ allowed seven earned runs, bloating his springtime ERA over four starts to 20.57. The Blue Jays lost, wait for it, 22-5. "It wasnt a good day for anybody, really," said manager John Gibbons. "We got pounded pretty good. They werent missing em. We got hit around pretty good." Meanwhile, back in Dunedin, Dustin McGowan, the sudden favourite for the final available rotation job, threw four innings of scoreless baseball in a Triple-A game. His fastball was clocked in the mid-90s; McGowan hit the 62-pitch mark. "I thought he looked great," Anthopoulos told a pool reporter in Dunedin. "Its just trying to get him stretched out here. Every step is a step in the right direction, but well see how he feels tonight, tomorrow, all that kind of stuff. He got up to 62 today off of 48 the (outing) before. Well take it outing by outing at this point." The logical next step, provided McGowans wonky shoulder feels good on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, is to have the right-hander throw another minor league game in Florida on Sunday. "The big thing is that we dont get ahead of ourselves because we re-evaluate it almost daily to see how he feels," said Anthopoulos. "I always remind him as well, I keep reminding him that at any time any concerns, any tweaks, anything at all, he needs to tell us, and he said, Absolutely. Hes obviously a big part of wanting to do this as well. As I told him when were even exploring this, he needs to want to do this because we would never take chances with his career or with his health. Hes the one who knows how he feels. Hes been through this enough times. He has to communicate with us." Happ has had a puzzling spring. He arrived in Dunedin under the impression he had a spot in the starting rotation locked up. After poor starts on February 26 and March 3, he missed game action due to a bad back. His two appearances since his return, on March 19 and on Tuesday, have gone no better. "Yeah, thats not an issue," said Gibbons, when asked if Happs back was still a concern. Happ has an option remaining, meaning he could be sent to the minors without first passing through waivers. However, the fly in the ointment is significant: as a major league veteran with more than five years of service time, Happ has the right to refuse the assignment, at which point the Jays could keep him or release him while paying him full freight. Would Happ be willing to move to the bullpen? "Im not thinking about that," he said. "Ill answer that question if someone elsee, one of the bosses, decides they need to ask that. Devin McCourty Jersey. Well deal with that then. But thats not something thats on my mind." The Blue Jays still have not officially named Drew Hutchison to their starting rotation although its inconceivable he doesnt make the team. Hutchison has been the clubs best pitcher this spring and Anthopoulos is on the record as saying hes taking the best 25 players north. Assuming Hutchison joins R.A. Dickey, Brandon Morrow and Mark Buehrle in the rotation, Anthopoulos, Gibbons and pitching coach Pete Walker have to decide between McGowan, Happ and Todd Redmond for the final spot. The idea of piggybacking McGowan, that is starting him on a strict pitch count and backfilling with Redmond, Esmil Rogers, maybe even Happ, behind him has been bandied about. It likely will be revisited during internal meetings ahead of Sundays deadline to announce the opening day roster. "When we announce the team, everybody will know who it is," said Gibbons. REYES GOING TO MONTREAL? The Blue Jays are encouraged by the MRI results on Jose Reyes left hamstring, which revealed a minor strain. "Hopefully hes in there the next couple of days, maybe at DH," said manager John Gibbons. "Let him run half-speed, three-quarter-speed. It actually made us feel pretty good after we heard the results." When asked on Monday, before he had his MRI, whether he would play through the strain if the regular season already was underway, Reyes didnt answer. It behooves the Jays to be careful, though, especially considering the club plays 91 games (81 at home, 10 in Tampa Bay) of its 162 on artificial turf. "With baseball, too, there can be a lot of dead time too before you actually get a ball," said Gibbons. "That quick movement will sometimes get you. We feel good about it and you hope it doesnt turn into anything down the road either." Still, Gibbons says the plan is to bring Reyes to Montreal, where two games will be played on turf, if hes healthy enough to go. "Im sure everybody wants to see him play up there," said Gibbons. THE SECOND CATCHER R.A. Dickey is scheduled to start the Blue Jays final Grapefruit League home game on Wednesday. By game time, we should have a better idea of who will back up Dioner Navarro. "I would say the guy who catches him (Wednesday) will be the backup catcher," said Gibbons. "Ill leave it at that." Erik Kratz and Josh Thole are vying for the job. Gibbons has repeatedly said that effectively catching Dickey is the jobs number one priority. Thole, to the extent someone can be, is a master at it. Hes also got the most experience. Dickeys pitched 565 innings to Thole over their time together with the Mets and Blue Jays. Kratz, a 2002 Blue Jays draft pick, returned to the organization in an offseason trade with the Phillies. Hes a threat to hit a home run, having gone deep 18 times in 375 at-bats over the last two seasons. Thole posted a .175/.256/.242 line in limited action last season. If he makes the team it appears the club will have trouble generating offence from the eighth and ninth (Ryan Goins) spots in the lineup on the days he plays. NFL Jerseys China cheap jerseys ' ' '

San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork. Steven Hauschka Jersey .com) - Tom Brady has Philip Rivers number. Its that simple. Brady threw for 317 yards with two touchdowns and an interception as the New England Patriots defeated the San Diego Chargers, 23-14, on Sunday night. New Englands signal-caller improved to 6-0 all-time against Rivers Chargers. Julian Edelman totaled 141 yards on eight catches with a touchdown that essentially sealed the game in the fourth quarter, and Rob Gronkowski also caught a touchdown pass for the Patriots (10-3), who have won at least 10 games for a 14th consecutive season. Rivers couldnt generate much offense for his team throughout the night, throwing for 189 yards with a touchdown and interception. San Diego had its three-game winning streak snapped and will host AFC West- leading Denver in a pivotal division matchup next Sunday. Or just business as usual, showing off their resiliency and character? Its probably a bit of both for the never-say-die Boston Bruins, who climbed out of what looked to be a deep hole with four third-period goals for a stirring 5-3 comeback win over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday afternoon. The scoring spree started midway through the final period, lasted seven minutes 58 seconds, and buried the Canadiens who had seemed in control after Thomas Vaneks second power-play goal of the game gave them a 3-1 lead 6:30 into the third. With each goal, the sellout crowd of 17,565 Bruins faithful at the TD Garden roared louder. At golf courses across the continent, Toronto Maple Leafs must have felt the Habs pain during the third-period collapse. The Vancouver Canucks were probably also cringing at their summer retreats. It was the Bruins first four-goal period in the playoffs since a 5-2 decision over the Canucks in Game 6 of the 2011 Stanley Cup final. The win sends both teams to Montreal with the second-round playoff series tied at one game apiece. Game 3 is Tuesday at the Bell Centre. "The way we just battled back through, I felt, a lot of crap that we put up with today was pretty indicative of what our teams all about," said Boston coach Claude Julien. "It just shows that if you focus on the things you need to focus on, this is a pretty good team that can accomplish a lot." Asked to elaborate on what he meant by crap, Julien declined, saying "I think anybody who watched the game knows whats going on there." Thats coach-speak for bad officiating. The Bruins took nine penalties to the Canadiens six and were punished twice on the power play. One of those Boston penalties was a late second-period bench minor. "The referee -- I kind of told him that I didnt agree with his calls," said a straight-faced Julien, drawing laughter. Trailing 3-1 midway through the third period, Boston pulled even on goals by Dougie Hamilton at 10:56 and Patrice Bergeron at 14:17. Reilly Smith scored the go-ahead goal with 3:32 remaining and Milan Lucic added an empty-net goal to cap a remarkable comeback. "Weve got to look at the big picture," said Montreal coach Michel Therrien, looking slightly more morose than usual. "I thought we played really well for 50 minutes. Even in the third period, the first 10 minutes we were almost perfect." "We got some breaks last game and they got the breaks (today)," he added, referring to the Habs 4-3 double-overtime win in Game 1 on Thursday. "So theres no way to panic. Were going home. We know its going to be a long series. Were ready for that." But then he offered a glimpse of the emotions behind the calm mask. "It would have been nice, honestly," he said wistfully. "It would have been nice, because we were in a position to pick up two games here. It would have been a great accomplishment." Hamiltons shot through traffic, on Bostons second shot of the third period, started the comeback. Bergeron then scored on an angled shot that deflected in off defenceman Francis Bouillon. Bad coverage and a bad bounce was how Therrien saw the two goals. Torey Krug found Smith cruising in towards goal and the Bruins forward rifled a shot past Carey Price for Bostons third goal in five minutes 28 seconds. Lucics empty-net goal came with 66 seconds remaining. "They were playing desperate at the end of the game and they found a way to put it in the net," Price said. "Weve just got to regroup, realize what the situation were in, were in a good spot, and move forward." Up until the comeback, penalties and ill discipline had cost the Bruins, who led 1-0 after the first period before giving up three straight goals. The Canadiens, who went 2-for-3 on the power play in Game 1, were 2-for-6 this time out. "I think in the first and mainly the second period, emotions got the best of us," said Smith. "We spent way too much time in the penalty box. Youre not going to come out of the period with a lot of positives after that happens. "Third period, we tried to focus and regroup. After that second intermission, we tried to come out with a different outlook. Braylon Edwards Jersey. " On Thursday, Boston came back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits before falling victim to a P.K. Subban shot in the second overtime. Smith, for one, knows that the Houdini approach to playoff wins is probably not the preferred route to victory. "It ended up working out great but its tough when youre relying on the third period to come back in games, for sure." Goalie Tuukka Rask said the comeback showed the Bruins character. "I think we make it unnecessarily hard for ourselves sometimes, but its a great, gutsy win today." Boston outshot Montreal 35-28 Saturday. Including blocked and missed shots, the Bruins have directed 161 shots at goal to Montreals 112 in the first two games. But the margin was much closer Saturday, with Boston holding a 63-54 edge, The Habs pulled ahead late in the second on the power play. Montreal, with four skaters to Bostons three after Andrej Meszaros joined a Hab and Bruin in the box, went ahead 2-1 at 18:09 of the second after Zdeno Chara failed to clear the puck. Montreal reloaded and Subban sent the puck to an unmarked Vanek in front for a tip-in goal. Vanek scored again at 6:30 of the third, tipping in a Subban blast with Hamilton in the box for his third of the playoffs. It was vindication for Vanek, whose play has been under scrutiny of late. Subban, meanwhile, extended his points streak to five games. On the negative side, he was minus-two for the game despite his two assists. Montreals line of Lars Eller, Brian Gionta and Rene Bourque, the best trio in Game 1 with a combined plus-six, was minus-nine Saturday. Chara, meanwhile, finished the afternoon at plus-five. At the other end, Price frustrated the Bruins for most of a second straight game. The Bruins didnt help their cause managing just one shot on goal in the first 10 minutes of the third period until they came alive. Despite all the talk of the need for discipline, there was plenty of niggle in this game with eight minors (four per team) called in the first period alone. Nothing major, but clearly no love lost either. The skirmishes started on the opening faceoff as Bostons Brad Marchand and Montreals Brendan Gallagher, both little magnets for mayhem, tangled. As he was in Game 1, Subban was booed whenever he had the puck. The subject of racial abuse on social media after his winning goal in Game 1, the Montreal defenceman got support from Gary Bettman before the game. The NHL commissioner condemned "bias and hatred," saying "it has no place in our game and its not acceptable." Subban, shaking his wrist, headed to the dressing room during the first period for repairs after getting tangled with Marchand in the corner and making contact with the Bruins skate. He soon returned, showing off his mobility as he skated circles around assorted Bruins. Daniel Paille opened the scoring at 13:02 of the first after Carl Soderberg retrieved a long rebound off the back boards and fired a quick, accurate pass over to his teammate who was unmarked in the slot. It came on Bostons 10th shot, compared to five for Montreal, and followed some fierce Bruin backchecking in the neutral zone. Boston outshot Montreal 13-6 in the period, with Pacioretty taking three for Montreal. The Canadiens came out hot in the second and tied it up at 1:09 after a Boston turnover. The Habs missed two glorious chances -- Rask stopped a Gallagher shot and Brandon Prust was unable to stuff in the rebound -- before Tomas Plekanec retrieved the puck, circled the goal and passed to Mike Weaver whose shot beat Rask through heavy traffic. Montreal had seven of the first eight shots of the second period. A Boston goal with 4:36 remaining in the period was called off, with Lucic ruled to have directed the puck in with his glove. There was no complaint from Lucic, who didnt celebrate. Seconds later, a sprawling Price denied Lucic with a spectacular pad save. Montreal outshot Boston 15-13 in a second period that saw six minors called, with four against the Bruins. Boston, whose power play ranked third in the league with a 21.7 per cent success rate during the regular season, is 0-for-5 with the man advantage through the first two games of the series. ROME -- Serena Williams isnt committing to playing in the Italian Open yet as she waits to see how her injured left thigh feels. Custom New York Red Bulls Jersey . The top-ranked Williams withdrew before her quarterfinal match at the Madrid Open last week. "Im taking it a day at a time. Well see as the week goes on. I have the rest of the day off and Ill see how I feel tomorrow," Williams said Monday. "I hit some balls today a little bit so Im going to see later tonight how it feels." In Madrid, Williams had her thigh heavily bandaged and said the injury occurred during a first-round victory over Belinda Bencic. She dismissed conjecture of pulling out for precautionary reasons. "I dont do anything out of precaution anymore. You live once and I feel like anything can happen tomorrow," Williams said. "I just physically couldnt play. I was in a lot of pain and just wasnt able to continue. When I play I want to give 100 per cent. "I want to go out there and I want to give the fans everything that they deserve and everything that they come to see," Williams added. "And I just wasnt going to even come close to being there." Williams is the defending champion at the Foro Italico, and also won the title in 2002. Shell also be the defending champion when the French Open starts in two weeks. Compared to earlier in her career, Williams said she really enjoys the red clay of Rome and Paris now. "I love the challenge of having to be more consistent and having to be that much better," she said. Williams is slated to open against either Romina Oprandi of Switzerland or Andrea Petkovic of Germany. Shes one of eight Americans in the draw -- quite a large showing compared to recent years. "Its good timing. Im nearing the end of my career, I guess -- who knows when its going to end, I love playing -- and people get inspired by different Americans maybe, and maybe start to play now," Williams said. "I love seeing all the Americans around." The other Americans in Rome are Varvara Lepchenko, Sloane Stephens, Christina McHale, Lauren Davis, Madison Keys, Alison Riske and Serenas older sister Venus Williams. At 32, Serena Williams marveled at the retirement announcement last week by former No. 1 Dinara Safina, who is 28. "Shes a lot younger than me," Serena said. "I just enjoy it right now. I enjoy my practice and Im starting to look in the mirror like, Wow. Whats wrong with me? I should be starting to not enjoy it so much. But the older I get the more I enjoy it. Its kind of weird but Im going to take it as it is." Li - the 11-year-old who will tee it up at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina - has drawn criticism from top-ranked womens player Stacy Lewis, who thinks that a sixth-grader shouldnt compete in a big event at such a young age. "Im not a big fan of it. She qualified, so we cant say anything about that," Lewis told USA Today. "But I like to see kids be successful at every level before they come out here. I just like to see kids learn how to win before they come get beat up out here. "When I found out she qualified, I said, well where does she go from here? You qualify for an Open at 11, what do you do next? If it was my kid, I wouldnt let her play in the U.S. Open qualifier at 11, but thats justt me. Blank Red Bulls Jersey. ." Li isnt the first young player to compete at the U.S. Womens Open - Morgan Pressel and Lexi Thompson qualified and played at age 12, while Michelle Wie was 13. "Look, if youre good enough, youre old enough - or young enough, whichever way you look at it," added four-time major winner Laura Davies. "If you can play the golf and you can qualify, then have a go. Whats the worst that can happen? She shoots a million this week and everyone says, Wasnt it great she was here? So I dont think anything bad can come out of it because shes too young to worry about the pressure. "Shes just having fun. Shes got a week off school. Its perfect." Michelle Wie agrees. Wie was 13 when she played in her first Womens Open and has been asked a lot about Li this week. NFL Jerseys China cheap jerseys ' ' '
