TSNs Jack Armstrong offers his thoughts on the impressive run of the Phoenix Suns, the absence of Patrick Patterson in the Toronto Raptors lineup, and the upcoming mayhem of NCAA March Madness. 1. PHOENIX SUNS: Second time this year Ive seen them in person and watched them countless other times on TV. Quite impressed with this squad. Ten games over .500 in the brutal Western Conference. Who would have thought that in the Fall? Heres the amazing thing - theyve got a very favourable salary cap situation as well as three first-round picks and a second-round selection in this years deep draft. Long term it really puts them in a nice situation bringing players into a winning and competitive environment internally where talented young picks will have to earn their minutes rather than having them handed to them as it happens on lousy teams. Good for the growth of the franchise. 2. PATRICK PATTERSON (Raptors): Even though his team is 3-2 without him and lost both games by less than 10 points, you can clearly see that they miss him big-time. His ability to shoot the three, rebound, defend on the perimeter and in the post and overall smart play is really missed. The second unit was absolutely dominated yesterday by the Suns and when youre missing one of your main focal points of your second unit youll get exposed some days. Yesterday was one of them. 3. CANADIANS IN THE NCAAS: Theyll be a bunch of them to watch and well have it covered on TSN starting on Thursday. Really cool to see some of the elite teams having young Canadian players who have vital roles. The game keeps growing and the stories get better. 4. NCAA FINAL FOUR & CHAMPS: My Picks for the Final Four are: Florida, Duke, Oklahoma and Virginia. My Pick for the champs is: Florida. 5. A FEW NCAA LOWER SEEDS THAT CAN WIN A 1ST ROUND GAME : Harvard, St. Josephs, Providence, Nebraska, Oklahoma State and Arizona State. Always fun to see who will be this years Cinderella which makes the tournament really special. Have fun and enjoy the games! I cant wait! <a href="http://www.customsaintsjersey.com/custom-henry-childs-jersey-large-642e.html">Henry Childs Jersey</a>. Hall had a goal and three assists in a 5-4 loss to San Jose on Tuesday, had an assist in each of Edmontons next two games the capped the week with a goal and two assists in the Oilers 4-2 win over Anaheim on Sunday. <a href="http://www.customsaintsjersey.com/custom-joe-federspiel-jersey-large-872e.html">http://www.customsaintsjersey.com/custom-joe-federspiel-jersey-large-872e.html</a>. - Diego Fagundez scored his team-leading 13th goal of the season in the 76th minute to lift the Revolution to a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Crew on Saturday night that kept New Englands playoff hopes alive. <a href="http://www.customsaintsjersey.com/custom-vaughan-johnson-jersey-large-1672e.html">Vaughan Johnson Jersey</a>. The tournament was set to be held Sept. 15-21 and would have been the first ATP tournament held in Israel since 1996. But amid Israels military campaign against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip, ATP President Chris Kermode said "we do not feel we can proceed as planned given the situation in the region.INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Pacers played just well enough to beat an inferior opponent, which has been the way most of their five-game win streak has gone. David West scored 25 points, Paul George added 22, and the Pacers beat the Utah Jazz 94-91 on Sunday night. Indianapolis native Gordon Hayward had 21 points and Derrick Favors scored 17 for the Jazz, nine of them in the first eight minutes as Utah opened a 14-4 lead. A dunk from Favors cut the Pacers lead to 89-86 with a minute left to play, and West missed a jumper to give Utah a chance to tie with 35 seconds remaining. Hayward cut the Indiana lead to one, but Lance Stephenson sank two free throws to seal the win. "This was a mental toughness win," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "I thought we played with extraordinary effort for four quarters." The Jazz made things interesting in the games fourth period thanks to Hayward, who had 10 of his 21 points in the final 15 minutes. His final five points came in the final minutes. Ian Mahinmi came off the bench to score nine points for the Pacers and provide key minutes, as Roy Hibbert struggled to contain Favors. Utah came out of halftime to score eight unanswered points and force Indiana to call an early timeout. The Pacers retook the lead when Mahinmi was fouled on a layup. Mahinmi made the free throw to put Indiana up 60-58. "Ive pretty solid on defence all season long," Mahinmi said. "My shot blocking has been up. My timing is good." CJ Watson, starting for the injured George Hill, scored 13 points for the Pacers. Hill sat out his second straight game with a bruised shoulder. After coming off the bennch to score 17 in a win over Boston a night earlier, Evan Turner struggled in his reserve role.dddddddddddd Turner, acquired from Philadelphia on Feb. 20, scored eight points and shot 2 of 9 in 20 minutes. But the Pacers got a boost from Mahinmi and Watson to pull out another win against an opponent they might have easily beaten earlier in the season. After two close tilts against Milwaukee and a come-from-behind victory in Boston on Saturday night, Indiana survived a scare against one of the Wests worst teams. But all night long, Utah buckled under pressure from one of the NBAs best defensive teams. The Jazz finished with 18 turnovers, which led to 24 points for Indiana. George went down hard after being fouled on a drive to the basket late in the third quarter. George slammed to the floor and appeared to hit his head, but remained in the game to sink both free throws. Hayward rebounded from a slow start to put together one of his best games since January. In his fourth time playing in his native city, he shot 8 of 15 from the field after being held scoreless until the beginning of the second period. He scored seven straight points in the third quarter, keeping the Jazz in the game while the rest of the offence sputtered. "I thought I was quiet in the first half, but I was proud of the way we came back and fought against a team with a real good record, especially here at home," Hayward said. Hayward, who led Butler to an NCAA championship game appearance in 2010, averaged 12.2 points on 34.1 shooting in 12 games in February. He came into the game having scored only 21 points in four games in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. <a href="http://www.chinawholesalejerseysnfl.com/">Wholesale Jerseys</a> ' ' '

BEREA, Ohio -- Johnny stretched. Johnny ran. Johnny passed. Johnny talked. With all eyes -- well, at least the ones allowed to watch him -- on quarterback Johnny Manziel, the most hyped college player to enter the NFL in years took his first steps with the Browns, who havent promised Johnny Football anything other than a chance to win a starting job. And thats cool with him. "Im a rookie," Manziel said. "I need to earn my place. I need to earn my keep. Nothing here needs to be handed to me. I dont need to be treated based off what I did in the past, because that doesnt mean a thing at this level." The former Texas A&M quarterback, who oozes swagger every moment hes on the field, is participating in Clevelands rookie minicamp this weekend along with its other draft picks and unsigned free agents. Browns first-year coach Mike Pettine restricted access to Saturdays workout, which was held inside because of rainy weather, to local media members. Sundays practice is closed. Pettine was on the Jets coaching staff when popular quarterback Tim Tebow joined the team and wants to control "Manzielmania" as best he can. "Were well aware of the persona. Were well aware of what it brings," Pettine said. "Were excited about it. Its something that were very willing to have come here, knowing that he has a chance to make us a better football team and a better franchise." Pettine added that he knows the decision to limit access will "ruffle some feathers." "Ill apologize in advance for that, but what were tasked as a staff to do is do whats best for the football team," he said. Wearing a red No. 2 jersey, Manziel stretched with his teammates as Jay-Zs "Public Service Announcement" boomed through the speakers in the field house. With Browns owner Jimmy Haslam on the sideline, Manziel made a few handoffs and threw three short passes before the session was closed after 15 minutes. Manziel later answered questions for 10 minutes before the interview was stopped by a member of the teams media relations staff. Manziel tried to clear up one story about how he wound up with the Browns, whose long-suffering fans hope his arrival can turn around their woeful franchise. Cleveland passed on him earlier in the draft before trading up to take him at No. 22. On Thursday, quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains revealed during a radio interview that Manziel sent him a text message during last weeks draft, urging the team to pick him. Loggains claimed the text read: "Hurry up and draft me because I want to wreck this league together." Manziel confirmed he exchanged texts with Loggains, but said the one in which he claimed he would "wreck this league" may have been exaggerated. "I dont know if thats exactly word for word," he said. "It was something along those lines." He explained he didnt mean he was going to dominate as a rookie, just that he wanted to help the Browns win games. "Whenever it is I get a chance to play, I dont want to come in and be mediocre," he said. As for his desire to join the Browns, Manziel said that was true. "This was a place I felt comfortable with," he said. "I liked the situation here and I wanted to come here, and if they wanted to take me and were trying to get me earlier, I said, Lets do it. I dont know what kind of influence that had or what exactly that did." Pettine told Manziel that if he wants to start hes going to have to beat out Brian Hoyer, who made three starts last year before a knee injury ended his season. Manziel said he understands hes nothing special -- not yet. "I was completely OK with hearing that from everybody," he said. "I dont want to come in and have anything handed to me that I dont deserve." Manziel was humbled long before the Browns took him. "I got passed up 21 times, so that says something," he said. As for meshing with his new teammates, Manziel is fitting right in. Offensive lineman Joe Bitonio, a second-round pick, said there was a moment of awe when he walked into the locker room and realized his locker was next to Manziels. "At first I was like, Man, thats Johnny Manziel," Bitonio said. "And then once you get to know him, hes a normal guy." On the field, Manziel has already made an impression. "Amazing," running back Terrance West said. "Hes Manziel, right? Everybody knows Johnny Manziel. He makes plays. He makes big plays. Hes a great player." But right now, hes only Johnny Rookie. <a href="https://www.49ersrookiestore.com/49ers-Jerick-Mckinnon-Jersey/">Jerick McKinnon Super Bowl Jersey</a>. The Vancouver coach and an announced sellout crowd of 18,910 watched in dismay as the Canucks lost 7-4 to the New York Islanders on Monday night by squandering a 3-0 lead in the third period. <a href="https://www.49ersrookiestore.com/49ers-Jalen-Hurd-Jersey/">Jalen Hurd Super Bowl Jersey</a>. VANCOUVER -- The struggling Vancouver Canucks cant seem to catch a break on the injury front. The team announced Thursday that centre Mike Santorelli has undergone surgery to repair a torn labrum and will be out five to six months, effectively ending his season. The news came after assistant coach Mike Sullivan told reporters defenceman Kevin Bieksa wont accompany the Canucks on their five-game road trip that leads into the Olympic break. "Its more than (a maintenance day)," said Sullivan of Bieksas absence from practice. "He is not going to join us on the trip. "We dont know the details of it yet. When we get more information well update you." On top of that, fellow defenceman Christopher Tanev is out with whats believed to be a broken hand. Captain Henrik Sedin has missed the last five games with an upper-body injury, although Sullivan expects him back soon. "Hes still day-to-day, but I believe he will join us on this trip and we are hopeful that well get him at some point here," said Sullivan. It all adds up to a very busy sick bay for a team that has just four wins in its last 15 games (4-8-3), including just two victories in regulation. The loss of Santorelli hurts up front as the Canucks have been held to two goals or less in nine of their last 10 games. The 28-year-old, who was injured Jan. 16, had 10 goals and 18 assists in 49 games this season. A native of nearby Burnaby, B.C., Santorelli impressed head coach John Tortorella in training camp and became one his most trusted players the first half of the season. "After consultation with our team physicians, we determined Mike would require a procedure on his shoulder," Canucks general manager Mike Gillis said in statement. "The surgery was successful and we expect a full recovery." Santorelli -- who can become an unrestricted free agent in July -- had been a journeyman in the league until appearing to find a home with the Canucks. He was put on waivers by the Florida Panthers last season and picked up by the Winnipeg Jets before signing with Vancouver. The loss of Bieksa, who has four goals and 15 assists in 55 games this season, is also a significant blow. To take the 32-year-olds place on the blue-line, the Canucks recalled defenceman Frank Corrado of the American Hockey Leagues Utica Comets. The 20-year-old played six games for Vancouver earlier this season but has yet to register a point. Meanwhile, Tortorella still has one game to go in his six-game suspension for trying to get into the Calgary Flames locker-room after that infamous first-period line brawl Jan. 18. The fiery head coach, who had been on his best behaviour since coming to Vancouver prior to that incident, will sit out Friday games against the Winnipeg Jets before returning Monday against the Detroit Red Wings. What he will find is a team with a 27-19-9 record thats in a dogfight for one of the two Western Conference wild-card spots, a position the Canucks arent accustomed to after winning division titles five of the last six years. "We have to be a resilient group. We understand the circumstance, everybodys looking for the result," said Sullivan. "Resilience and attitude is a big part of having success in this league, because inevitably, most teams go through adversity where they lose a few games or things dont go their way, they hit the injury bug, whatever it may be -- sometimes its all of the above." <a href="http://www.custommlbcardinalsjersey.com/custom-ken-boyer-jersey-large-391q.html">Ken Boyer</a>. MANCHESTER, England - Arsenal and Tottenham slumped to 2-1 losses in the Premier League as their weaknesses were ruthlessly exposed on Sunday, while Newcastles resurgence continued with a fourth straight win. After squandering a three-goal cushion midweek in the Champions League, Arsenal again failed to hold onto a lead by conceding twice in less than three minutes at Swansea to drop out of the top four. Its difficult to explain how we lost the lead. We were in control, said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, whose team is 12 points behind leader Chelsea and has yet to register a win against a side outside the bottom seven.Chile forward Alexis Sanchez scored for the fourth straight league game to give Arsenal a 63rd-minute lead, only for Gylfi Sigurdsson to equalize with a stunning free kick and Bafetimbi Gomis to grab the winner barely 90 seconds after coming on as a substitute.Spurs suffered another hangover after their Europa League commitments, losing at home to Stoke to fall to 12th in the standings and increase the scrutiny on new manager Mauricio Pochettino. We need to improve quickly because you never have a long time in football, Pochettino said. My challenge in the next few weeks is to change the mentality. That is something Alan Pardew has managed at Newcastle, which was without a win until Oct. 18 but has surged up to eighth in the table.Young Spanish striker Ayoze Perez scored for a third straight game to set Newcastle on its way to a 2-0 win at West Brom. LUCIE, Fla. SALT LAKE CITY -- Tyrone Corbin oversaw Utahs transition from Jerry Sloan and Deron Williams to a youth movement, one he wont get to see to fruition. The Jazz are in the market for a new coach after deciding not to offer Corbin a new contract Monday. Corbin went 112-146 in three-plus seasons in Salt Lake City. He took over on Feb. 10, 2011, following the resignation of Sloan, for whom he played three seasons and served as a longtime assistant. Corbin reached the playoffs in the strike-shortened 2011-12 season, but his team was swept by San Antonio in the first round of the playoffs. The Jazz went 43-39 the next season and dumped a number of veterans. This year, they went 25-57, the worst season by the Jazz since 1979-80, when Utah was 24-58 following the franchises relocation from New Orleans. Still, it wasnt easy to cut ties with a classy man who steered the franchise through the difficult stretch and whos worked for the organization for more than a dozen years. "Tys a man of dignity, class, integrity and well do nothing now in this press conference or moving forward that will disparage him or his coaches in any way," Jazz general manager Dennis Lindsey said. "Today, were grateful for a period that they saw us through and following coach Sloan in many ways ... is like following John Wooden." Lindsey said he doesnt have a short list of preferred coaching candidates nor does he have a deadline for hiring Corbins replacement. Corbin was the seventh coach in franchise history. He served as an assistant under Sloan from 2004-11. He also played for nine teams during a 16-year NBA career, including three seasons with the Jazz from 1991-94. Lindsey left open the possibility of Corbin returning to the organization in some capacity. "I dont want to speak for Ty and understand his range of emotions, from disappointment to anger to everything in between, but (hes) a good man who was a very good player, very good assistant thatt led us well through a tough three-plus years where there was significant change of personnel," Lindsey said.dddddddddddd"So, I wouldnt rule anything out, just because hes that high of character. "And Ill say this, as well: I think Ty is ... going to be a better coach or is potentially going to be a better head coach for his experience, and it wouldnt surprise me at all to see him land on his feet to be a head coach and to do very well going forward. If that doesnt happen and he were to want to come back in some fashion, I dont think theres anybody within the organization that would prevent that." Owner and CEO Greg Miller said in a statement that Corbin "has always represented the Jazz franchise in a first-class manner both on the court and in the community. He did a wonderful job of building relationships with the players and encouraged their growth throughout the season." After jettisoning veteran salaries last summer, the Jazz started 1-14 amid injury woes, but improved as the season progressed. Rookie point guard Trey Burke started the season on the bench with a broken finger, pressed through a shooting slump and ended with a season-high 32 points in the final game. He averaged 12.8 points and 5.7 assists. Despite the losses, the team never splintered. Players pointed to Corbins positivity and the veteran influence of Marvin Williams and Richard Jefferson, who resurrected his career, shooting 41 per cent from 3-point range and scoring 10.1 points after rarely playing at Golden State last year. A lottery pick, another first-round choice and sizeable salary cap flexibility will benefit the Jazz and Corbins successor this off-season. And theres plenty of promise in Enes Kanter, Derrick Favours and Alec Burks. The two big men improved in all statistical areas. Burks became a go-to scorer and ended up as the second-leading scorer despite playing as a reserve most of the season. <a href="http://www.chinawholesalejerseysnfl.com/">Wholesale Jerseys</a> ' ' '

BRADENTON, Fla. Eric Fisher Jersey . - Coming off their first playoff appearance in 21 years, the Pittsburgh Pirates were eager to start spring training. Several players have been training regularly at the Pirate City complex since early January. When 36 pitchers and catchers held their first official workout on Thursday, a half-dozen position players were there, too. The Pirates won 94 games last season and advanced to the NL division series, their first post-season berth since 1992. They were eliminated by the St. Louis Cardinals in the decisive Game 5. "Were still hungry," catcher Russell Martin said. "We did some special things last year, but everybody was disappointed with how it finished. I dont know what all the experts are saying, but I consider myself an expert and I think were going to do better than we did last year." They will have to do it without veteran right-hander A.J. Burnett, who has agreed to a one-year, $16 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies. Burnett made 61 starts and won 26 games over the past two seasons with the Pirates. After hearing that Burnett chose not to return to Pittsburgh, Martin sent a text message to his former teammate. "I wished him well," Martin said. "I hope he stays healthy and has a good season ... and, hopefully, well meet him in the playoffs and beat him." Many players admitted they were surprised and disappointed about Burnetts departure. Others preferred to look ahead. "Weve got to move on," reliever Mark Melancon said. "You cant live in the past. This is a new year and anything can happen." Even without Burnett, the Pirates have the makings of a solid starting rotation. Left-hander Francisco Liriano, who went 16-8 with a 3.02 ERA, is the likely opening day starter. Gerrit Cole (10-7, 3.22) and Charlie Morton (7-4, 3.26) also return. Wandy Rodriguez missed most of last season due to a sore left forearm. He is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Friday and is expected to be ready for the start of the season. "Physically, hes coming along very well," general manager Neal Huntington said. "Were going to take it slow with him this spring, so hes kind of on a different program than the other guys. But, hes healthy and feels good." New arrival Edinson Volquez, who signed a $5 million deal in December, and Jeff Locke could battle for the No. 5 job. The 26-year-old Locke won eight straight starts in the first half of the season and made the NL All-Star team. However, he went 2-5 with a 6.12 ERA over his final 12 starts and was shut down in September. "Making the playoffs last year meant a lot to us," Locke said. "The fans in Pittsburgh and the rest of the baseball world hadnt seen it in a while, but I know the 25 guys in our clubhouse knew it was something we could do. Were not under anybodys radar anymore, but I think the 25 guys this year will be up to the challenge." NOTES: The Pirates signed LHP Yao-Hsun Yang to a minor league contract, which includes an invitation to spring training. Yang, 31, made nine outings last year in the minor leagues in Japan. The Canucks figured to be active prior to Wednesdays trade deadline, getting a jump on things the previous day when they dealt goaltender Roberto Luongo to the Florida Panthers for netminder Jacob Markstrom and forward Shawn Matthias.PRETORIA, South Africa -- Oscar Pistorius defence team called an anesthetist to testify at the double-amputee runners murder trial Thursday in an attempt to counter prosecution claims that Pistorius is lying about the timeline of events on the night he killed girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Prof. Aina Christina Lundgren was being questioned on her expertise regarding how long it takes a person to digest food after eating. The testimony relates to an autopsy report on Steenkamps body that said she still had food in her stomach after she was killed by Pistorius, leading prosecutors to challenge his story that the couple last ate around eight hours before he shot her through a toilet door. An expert testifying for the prosecution said a persons stomach is normally empty of food six hours after eating and Steenkamp ate much later on the night of the killing and not in line with Pistorius story. Prosecutors say thats because the couple were up arguing late into the night before Pistorius shot Steenkamp multiple times in the midst of a heated fight through a toilet stall door in his bathroom. Pistorius says he mistook her for an intruder hiding behind the closed toilet stall door. He testified the couple had dinner at around 7 p.m. on the night she was killed, and they were in bed around 10 p.m. Pistorius shot Steenkamp after 3 a.m. on Feb. 14, 2013. Lundgren, who described herself as a specialist anesthetist, testified that there are a number of factors that could have delayed the digestion process in Steenkamp to explain the food found in her stomach, including that she was a pre-menopausal woman and had been sleeping. Lundgren was presented by the defence to try and undermine the testimony of pathologgist Prof. Xavier Williams Jersey. Gert Saayman, who said it was his opinion that Steenkamp ate much later than Pistorius says, possibly even at around 1 a.m. when the runner claims they were in bed. Lundgren said it was difficult to be exact about the rate of digestion and it was "speculative to attempt to estimate when she had last eaten." Chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel cross-examined Lundgren and pointed to Saaymans findings that he could even identify vegetable and cheese matter in Steenkamps stomach. "Would you not have expected the digestive process to have caused the contents to be unrecognizable after eight hours?" Nel asked Lundgren. "I cant comment," she replied. "But he can, and he did," Nel said of Saaymans report. The state pathologist was present in the courtroom and Nel asserted that his evidence was "more probable." Replying to Nels questions, Lundgren said she was a clinician and unwilling to criticize Saayman, a pathologist. However, later on re-examination by chief defence lawyer Barry Roux, she said she did not agree with Saaymans assertion that Steenkamp ate at 1 a.m. or after. Pistorius lawyers also said in a statement Thursday that an offer to buy the villa where the Olympian killed Steenkamp had been accepted and the sale of the house was being processed. Pistorius is selling his home in the gated community in the South African capital Pretoria to help with his legal bills. His trial is now into its seventh week of testimony. Lawyer Brian Webber said they would not identify who was buying the house or the amount it was being sold for until the sale was finalized. Pistorius last year valued the house at about $450,000. CLEVELAND -- Cavaliers All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving has been cleared to return to practice after missing eight games with a biceps injury. Air Max 270 Just Do It . Irving strained his left biceps on March 16 against the Clippers. He can resume full contact immediately, but the Cavs said his status for important games this week at Orlando and Atlanta has not been determined. Cleveland is 4-4 since its leading scorer was injured. The Cavs, who enter the week just 2 1/2 games behind Atlanta for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, will likely ease Irving back into the lineup. Also, an MRI on forward Anderson Varejaos shoulder revealed a sprained AC joint. The 6-foot-11 Varejao will not play Wednesday against the Magic and the team said his status beyond that will be updated later. Air Max 270 React Club Gold . If Vettel wins at Suzuka on Sunday, and his nearest rival Fernando Alonso finishes worse than eighth, the German driver will join his compatriot Michael Schumacher and Argentine Juan-Manuel Fangio as the only men to win four consecutive titles. Last week, six days after sustaining a concussion, franchise quarterback Mike Reilly is rolled out by the Edmonton Eskimos in a must win game against the Montreal Alouettes. The Eskimos muzzled their “Top Dog”, virtually handcuffing the young quarterback by limiting what he does best: his ability to run, improvise, and attack a defence with his unmatched will to do whatever it takes to win. That plan went south in a hurry and by half time, Reilly was back in his cage. The next quarterback up for the Eskimos wasnt Kerry Joseph, who has 11 years of experience under his belt. Joseph only had two reps all week during practice. Im scratching my head right now. The Eskimos had planned all week long to go with Jonathan Crompton, a young and promising quarterback from the University of Tennessee. Problem was, Crompton had only thrown 22 career passes in the CFL heading into that must win game! Let me recap: you toil with the decision to start your franchise quarterback after he sustained a concussion just six days ago, limit his package – removing what he does best, dont practice or play your experienced gunslinger, and go with a virtual rookie in a must win game! Wow, I know theres no giving an inch or concessions in football, but on behalf of the dwindling fan base, what is going on? Now this week, with the playoffs virtually out of reach and the season almost over, you want to remove the muzzle on Reilly and set him free to attack the game – likke he should have been last week – and risk further meaningless injury? I dont get it! Now is the time to get Crompton the reps he was given last week. Air Max 270 React Grey. Again, Im scratching my head here. I know there is a disconnect between management and coaches with who is second on the depth chart and thats why we saw Crompton last week instead of Joseph in a must win game. But how about dealing with your No. 1 quarterback properly? If he was cleared to play last week by third party doctors, then why the muzzle and shackles in a must win game? Manage play calling to keep him out of harms way and make certain he was not exposed to protection breakdowns. What? Are we still talking about the same team? Reilly is an old school quarterback. Hes a warrior and hes proven he can compete, win, and lead this franchise. Its been a long season; rest your star! Now is the time, and for the next four weeks, to see what you have in Crompton. If Joseph is not in the cards for the future, move Jacory Harris onto the active roster and see what hes got to offer too! Head coach Kavis Reed knows all about the seriousness of injuries in football; he was forced to retire prematurely with a neck injury. Not only that, Reed is as passionate as they come in the coaching ranks. Hes uniquely dialed in to his players, both on and off the field. Simply put, he cares! So do I! Sometimes you are too close to the trees to see through the forest. So I ask, why Reilly now? More head scratching... ' ' '

While much of the focus of the NBA Offseason is about stars changing teams, there isnt necessarily a dramatic impact, say to LeBron James production going from Miami to Cleveland. https://www.cheapstarsonline.com/" class="TyTxtSmlC">Stars Jerseys 2020 . Leaving aside the possibility of more changes to come with the Cavaliers roster, there isnt an obvious reason that James numbers should be significantly different next season. His greatness will travel. On the other hand, there are some players that are looking at better opportunities next year, with the possibility of more playing time and touches leading to potentially better production. Here are 10 guys that could have bigger roles with their respective clubs next season: Chris Bosh, C, Miami - Wooed by the Rockets, Bosh decided to return to the Heat, even in the wake of LeBron James departure. Sure, newcomers Luol Deng and Josh McRoberts will have big roles in the frontcourt, but if anyone is going to have a bigger role in LeBrons absence, doesnt it have to be Bosh? He had 12.1 field goal attempts per game last season, his fewest since his rookie year (2003-2004!) and this while hes become a more effective shooter, with a career-best 55.5% effective field goal percentage, dramatically increasing his three-point attempts to 4.5 per game. Thats up from 1.6 per game, which had been a career-best, the year before. Sure, there wont be as many open threes if Deng is handling the ball instead of LeBron, but it should come as no surprise if Bosh sees his field goal attempts go back to 15-16 per game and he gets back over 20 points per game. Darren Collison, PG, Sacramento - After Isaiah Thomas departed for Phoenix, Collison moved north from the Clippers to take the Kings starting point guard job. Collison played a career-low 25.9 minutes per game last season, yet was effective enough, scoring 11.4 points and dishing 3.7 assists per game. With presumably more minutes and possibly more shots (Thomas was one of three Kings to average more than 15 field goal attempts per game), 26-year-old Collison is in position to have his numbers bounce back signfiicantly this season. Lance Stephenson, SG, Charlotte - Moving from starting shooting guard in Indiana to starting shooting guard in Charlotte doesnt necessarily mean a big change, but the Hornets let Gary Neal jack up 12.8 shots per game last season while shooting 35.3% from the field. Why not give those looks to Stephenson, who shot a career-best 49.1% from the field, averaging a career-high 14.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game with the Pacers last year. Jordan Hill, C, L.A. Lakers - There are newcomers at power forward for the Lakers, including Carlos Boozer, Julius Randle and Ed Davis and, between them, they will eat some minutes in the middle, but Hill is looking at a prime opportunity to start for the Lakers, a chance to build on a great finish to last season, when he averaged 15.9 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game in March and April. Hill shot a career-best 54.9% from the field last year and played more than 20 minutes per game for the first time in his career. If he can maintain that efficiency, he could be a real asset over 28-30 minutes per game as a starter. Patrick Beverley, PG, Houston - With the Rockets sending Jeremy Lin to to the Lakers, Beverley is head-and-shoulders above his competition for playing time at the point with the Rockets. Beverley may not play a bunch more, than the 31 minutes a night he averaged last season, but there are more touches available and if Beverley takes an extra couple shots per game and dishes a few more assists, he will continue on his Andrei Kirilenko, SF, Brooklyn - A 33-year-old forward coming off a season in which he averaged 5.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game, while playing a career-low 19 minutes per game, Kirilenko will have to compete with younger Euro forwards Sergey Karasev and Bojan Bogdanovic for playing time but, as an established NBA player, Kirilenko should have first crack at replacing Paul Pierce in the starting lineup. With significant playing time, Kirilenko has an opportunity for something resembling a bounceback season. Donatas Motiejunas, PF, Houston - One other reason that the Rockets should have some shots available is that they let Chandler Parsons go to Dallas and only James Harden (16.5) had more than Parsons 13.3 field goal attempts per game. With a thinned-out roster, because they were trying to lure a premier free agent, there is opportunity in Houston for someone like Motiejunas, a 23-year-old left-handed 7-footer who has put up 5.6 points and 3.0 rebounds in a little over 14 minutes per game through two NBA seasons. Motiejunas had a strong showing in the Las Vegas Summer League so maybe hell find his way into a regular spot in the Houston rotation and put up some decent numbers as a result. Cody Zeller, PF, Charlotte - With Josh McRoberts moving on, there is opportunity available in the Hornets frontcourt and last years fourth overall pick, Zeller, should have the edge over this years ninth overall pick, Noah Vonleh, for a spot in the starting lineup. Zeller started slowly as a rookie, shooting 38.0% from the field before the All-Star break, but he hit 50.7% from the field after the break, averaging 7.7 points and 4.8 rebounds per game in 18.3 minutes per game. If Zeller is a starter, 12 (points per game) and 8 (rebounds per game) should be possible. Anthony Morrow, SG, Oklahoma City - While the Thunder are looking at a starting lineup that will effectively include two point guards, Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson, there should be a regular rotation role for Morrow, a three-point bomber who hit 45.1% from beyond the arc last season and has made 42.8% on threes for his career. Morrow played under 19 minutes per game in New Orleans last season, but effectively takes over a spot from Thabo Sefolosha, who was playing 26 minutes per game for the Thunder last year. Some of those minutes would figure go to Jackson, but if Morrow plays 24 minutes a game, he could score in double figures. Hollis Thompson, SF, Philadelphia - 23-year-old Thompson started 41 games for the Sixers last season, averaging 6.0 points, 3.2 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game. An undrafted free agent out of Georgetown, Thompson made 40.1% of his three-pointers as a rookie and there just arent that many great offensive options for the 76ers. Once Michael Carter-Williams and Thaddeus Young get theirs, why couldnt Thompson double last years 4.8 field goal attempts per game? MIAMI -- Over the last 10 seasons, only one NBA player has been part of more wins than LeBron James. Jimmy Graham Super Bowl Jersey . His name is Tim Duncan. Their numbers over that decade are incredibly similar. Duncan has appeared in 622 regular-season and playoff victories, James has played in 621. Duncan is shooting 50.2 per cent from the field, James is shooting 50 per cent. Duncan has won two championships with San Antonio during this 10-season stretch, James has two with Miami. Plus, when facing each other in the NBA Finals, both has won one, lost one. Here comes the tiebreaker -- a Finals rematch that will have high expectations. Miami and San Antonio are the leagues last two teams standing for the second consecutive year, their next chapter starting on the Spurs home floor Thursday night. The Heat won a wild series last season for their second straight championship, needing a frantic rally to avoid elimination in Game 6 and then riding the strength of a 37-point, 12-rebound effort from James to top the Spurs in Game 7. "I think our guys, they actually grew from the loss last year," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "I call it fortitude. I think they showed an unbelievable amount of fortitude. If I can compliment my own team humbly, to have that tough loss, especially the Game 6 and not have a pity party and come back this year and get back to the same position, I think thats fortitude." Its the leagues first Finals rematch since Chicago and Utah played in 1997 and 1998. The teams have actually played three times since last seasons classic series ended, twice in the regular season, another being a preseason meeting in Miami where the Spurs acknowledged that the pain of losing Game 7 on that floor was still real. Then again, its almost like they wanted to feel that hurt at times. Popovich showed the Spurs clips of Games 6 and 7 early in training camp this season, not so much to open old wounds but rather speed up the healing process. "We were just trying to put it away, just get over that part of it, learn from it, and move forward from there," said Duncan, a champion in 1999, 2003, 2005 and 2007. Move forward, they did. San Antonio won 62 games in the regular season, the best record in the league. One of those wins was a 24-point romp over Miami, on the same floor where this series will start on Thursday. The Heat know what wanting revenge feels like. They lost the 2011 NBA Finals to Dallas, then opened the following season on the Mavericks floor and simply blew them away. Heat forward Chris Bosh called it "extra motivation" for the Spurs. "Its just something that we have to deal with, and we know that theyre going to be very passionate, and theyre going to play some good basketball," Bosh said. "So whoever we play, we just have to continue to keep our approach the same and play good basketball." While the Spurs were punching their ticket by ousting Oklahoma City from the West finals on Saturday night, the Heat were getting a day off. James was taking his kids to see X-Men. James Jones went to a home-improvement store for some supplies. Bosh insisted he was going to do as little as possible, and Heat coach Erik Spoelstra isnt summoning his team to practice again until Monday. By then, James will be locked in on the Spurs. "It hasnt really hit us that much yet because I think were in it," James said Friday night after Miami beat Indiana and clinched its fourth consecutive East championship. "I think it will once were done and were able to look back at what we were able to accomplish as players, as a franchise. I think thats when it will really hit us. We definitely dont take it for granted to be in this position." So for the next few days, all the highlights of last years finals will be played over and over again. The shot by Tony Parker -- who missed the second half of Saturday nights game with a left ankle injury -- to win Game 1 in Miami for the Spurs. James twirl-on-the-rim dunk as the Heat pulled away in Game 2. San Antonio sharpshooter Danny Greens Finals-record 3-point display. VANCOUVER -- Three-time Olympian Maelle Ricker will lead Canadas snowboard team at the Sochi Games. Corey Levin Jersey . Ricker, a 2010 gold medallist in snowboard cross, was among five competitors named to the team Friday. The remainder of the squad will be unveiled Jan. 21 in Quebec City. "We definitely have an amazing group and an amazing team and to be a part of it is great," said the 35-year-old from of West Vancouver, B.C. "The team is doing great. "We have strong athletes in all the disciplines and Im very honoured and excited." Also named Friday were first-time Olympians Mark McMorris of Regina, Sebastien Toutant of LAssomption, Que., Spencer OBrien of Courtenay, B.C., and Chris Robanske of Calgary. "It feels amazing," said McMorris. "Its going to be a fun time. Ive been preparing like a mad man and I think Im ready." McMorris, Toutant and OBrien will all compete in the slopestyle event -- which is making its Olympic debut in Sochi -- while Ricker and Robanske are entered in snowboard cross. Canada won 26 medals at the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver and has set a lofty goal of finishing first in the overall medal count in Sochi. "If we say we dont want to be No. 1, were striving for mediocrity and were not going to do that. We will strive to be the best," said Canadian chef de mission Steve Podborski, who won bronze in mens downhill at the 1980 Olympics. "When we went into (the 2006 Games), we had no notion that we could strive to be No. 1 and now we are looking at that. "So why not? Its going to be tough, maybe impossible, but you strive for impossible dreams." If its going to happen, Canada will in all likelihood need big performances from its snowboard team. Canadian snowboarders claimed three medals in 2010, with Ricker and Jasey-Jay Anderson capturing gold medals, while Mike Robertston won a silver. "I would love to perform at my best (again)," said Ricker. "Definitely every time I put my snowboard on thats what Im aiming to do and hopefully we get some good results because of it." McMorris, viewed as one of the favourites in slopestyle, doesnt feel any added pressure with Canada looking to top the medal standings. "Whenever anybody looks at you to win theres pressure," said the laid-back 20-year-old. "Ive been able to have a lot of success over the last three years and consistently podium or win events. "Im expecting to go over there and do just that." The 2014 Games begin on Feb. 7. Johnny Knox Jersey .Do you have to be that close? The outdoor event will be played on Dec. 31 between alumni of the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers at Citizens Bank Park, the home of the Philadelphia Phillies.Lexington, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaiah McKenzie returned the games opening kickoff for a touchdown and scored on a punt return as No. 17 Georgia blasted Kentucky 63-31 on Saturday. Hutson Mason threw a career-high four touchdown passes despite not playing one snap in the fourth quarter for Georgia (7-2, 5-2 SEC), which rebounded from last weeks 38-20 loss to Florida. Mason was 13-of-16 for 174 yards, and Nick Chubb rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown in the bounce-back win. The Bulldogs had a three-touchdown lead just over 10 minutes into the game. Very pleased with what happened today, said Georgia coach Mark Richt. Im proud of our players. I thought they did a really good job. Starting the game, there was a lot of energy in going up 21-0. Patrick Towles totaled 139 yards with a touchdown pass and ran for another score for the Wildcats (5-5, 2-5), who suffered their fourth straight loss. Towles completed 16-of-31 passes with one interception and added 60 yards on the ground. The Bulldogs got off to a great start in all three phases. McKenzie began the game by sprinting 90 yards to the end zone, the Georgia defense forced a three-and-out and Chris Conley caught a 15-yard touchdown pass to cap the first drive. After another brief Kentucky possession, Chubb scored on an 18-yard run with 4:57 left in the first quarter. Very embarrassing effort by our team (and) our coaching staff, starting with myself, said Kentucky coach Mark Stoops. Not acceptable. Just very disappointed in the way we played, thhe way were playing. Maury Buford Jersey. Like I said, embarrassing is the word that comes to mind. Were a .500 football team. Weve got our two biggest rivals left, so well see if we can regroup. The Wildcats outscored the Bulldogs 24-14 in the second quarter. Braylon Heard ran for a 3-yard touchdown and Austin MacGinnis kicked a 38- yard field goal after Georgia fumbled a short kick. Stanley Williams quickly answered Masons 23-yard touchdown pass off play action to Malcolm Mitchell with a 56-yard TD run. The Bulldogs went up 35-17 when Conley hauled in a 4-yard pass from Mason on a fade route, but two defensive penalties on the next Kentucky drive led to Towles scoring on a quarterback sneak with 16 seconds remaining before halftime. However, things fell apart for Kentucky in the third quarter. Towles was picked off by Corey Moore on the first play from scrimmage. The Bulldogs capitalized on the miscue as four Chubb runs preceded Jeb Blazevichs 10-yard touchdown grab. After a three-and-out by the Wildcats, McKenzie returned a punt 59 yards for a touchdown. Sony Michel scored on a 23-yard run later in the third, and Brice Ramsey threw an eight-yard touchdown pass to Blazevich in the fourth. Towles connected with Javess Blue for a nine-yard touchdown with 3:22 to play. Game Notes Georgia has won five straight games against Kentucky and each of the last four meetings in Lexington ... Michel had 84 yards on 16 carries ... Williams rushed 10 times for 100 yards. ' ' '

BUFFALO, N. Air Max 270 2021 .Y. - The Buffalo Bills are scheduled to interview two more coaching candidates before taking a wait-and-see approach to determine whether to expand their search next week, a person familiar with the process told The Associated Press on Friday. The person said the Bills are meeting with San Francisco 49ers offensive co-ordinator Greg Roman on Friday, followed by Detroit Lions defensive co-ordinator Teryl Austin on Saturday. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Bills have not revealed their plans to replace Doug Marrone, who stepped down abruptly on Dec. 31.Roman and Austin increase the Bills list to 12 candidates who have been interviewed. Its group that includes former New York Jets coach Rex Ryan, two-time Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Shanahan, Bills defensive co-ordinator Jim Schwartz and Cincinnati offensive co-ordinator Hue Jackson. The Bills have no more interviews scheduled, but that could change.Without identifying who, the person said, the Bills have identified more than one candidate on teams competing in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs this weekend. Buffalos search committee, headed by new owners Terry and Kim Pegula, will then wait until the games are over to see who might become available to be interviewed next week. The Bills have already met with three assistants on teams still in the playoffs: Seattle co-ordinators Darrell Bevell (offensive) and Dan Quinn (defensive) and Denver offensive co-ordinator Adam Gase. Its unclear whether the Bills will wait beyond next week to begin narrowing their list. The Pegulas, who purchased the team from the estate of late owner Ralph Wilson in October, have taken a hands-on approach in what has become one of the franchises most extensive searches. After spending last weekend meeting candidates on the west coast, the most recent series of meetings are taking place in Florida, where the Pegulas live.General manager Doug Whaley and team president Russ Brandon are also taking part in the interviews.Wilson was not directly involved in the Bills most recent searches. The teams last search took six days and involved five candidates before Marrone was hired in January 2013.This is the Bills sixth coaching search since Wade Phillips was fired following the 2000 season. And Marrones departure was unexpected after the second-year coach exercised an opt-out clause in his contract that kicked in once the team was sold.Buffalo went 9-7 to match its best record since 2004. The Bills, however, missed the playoffs to extend the NFLs longest active post-season drought to 15 years.Roman completed his fourth season with the 49ers, who are also in flux after coach Jim Harbaugh was not retained and was hired by Michigan. The 49ers offence finished ranked among the NFLs top 10 in each of his first three seasons before dipping to 20th last year.He is also familiar to the Pegulas because of their Penn State ties. Terry Pegula attended Penn State and is a major supporter of its football and hockey programs. Roman was a candidate to take over the Nittany Lions football team in each of its last two vacancies.Austin completed his first season with Detroit, where he oversaw a defence that finished second in the NFL in yards allowed. His previous NFL stops included Baltimore, Arizona and Seattle, and broke into coaching as a Penn State graduate assistant in 1991.Austin also has tied to Whaley, as both played college at Pittsburgh, though their careers did not overlap. The Bills strength has been their defence, which produced three Pro Bowl linemen last season.Buffalos offence has remained the teams weakness, and lacks an established starting quarterback. Veteran journeyman Kyle Orton announced his intention to retire after closing last season with a 7-5 record. He took over after second-year starter EJ Manuel was benched after a 2-2 start.Manuel, a former first-round draft pick, has two years left on his contract.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Air Max 270 React Pas Cher Homme . When Hockey Canada needed a coach for its womens hockey team less than two months before the Sochi Olympics, Kevin Dineen stepped up. Cam Erving Jersey . Not long after he won gold, the phone rang again for a job leading the under-18 mens team. "One call to him at the under-18 level, he just said yes right away," Hockey Canadas Scott Salmond said. On Monday, Dineen began the next chapter of his coaching career as he was named as an assistant on Joel Quennevilles staff with the Chicago Blackhawks. "He doesnt care if hes coaching women or men or kids or what it is. Hes a coach, and thats what he loves to do," Salmond said in a phone interview. "To me, great coaches like challenges and they want to coach, they want to be busy, they want to work and Kevins a great example of that. It wasnt a surprise to me that someone in an organization like Chicago would recognize that and his value and what hell bring there." The Toronto native will return to the NHL less than a year after being fired as head coach of the Florida Panthers, armed with plenty of international experience. Salmond, Hockey Canadas senior director of hockey operations and national teams, enjoyed how much energy and passion Dineen put into his work with the national womens and under-18 mens teams, even though he had no previous connection to either. "I think that the players realized right away that he cares," Salmond said. "He really cares about them. And one thing he talked about with the under-18s the whole time was just trying to make them better and trying to have them leave with something. And yeah we wanted to have team success, but if they could gain something from the experience, then that was great." From those experiences, Salmond expects Dineen to be an even stronger coach as he returns to dealing with professionals with the Blackhawks. "I know he spent a lot of time one-on-one both with the women and the men and communicating with them and sharing ideas and having them buy in and share their ideas as well," Salmond said. "The communication side, I think, is huge. Good coaches have that, and certainly its a strength for him." Dineen conceded in Sochi that he was learning on the fly how to communicate differently with women than he did men in previous jobs, joking that he wasnt using the F-word nearly as much. He was not made available by the Blackhawks, who have a policy of not allowing assistant coaches to speak to reporters. Dineen wrote on Twitter that he was "excited about the opportunity to work with this group of people. World class players and organization." The 50-year-old replaces Jamie Kompon, who became general manager and coach of the WHLs Portland Winterhawks, filling the void left by Mike Johnston when he took the head-coaching job in Pittsburgh. "I am thrilled to join Joel Quenneville, a future hall of fame coach, and (assistant) Mike Kitchen, as we strive to reach the ultimate goal in professional hockey," Dineen said in a statement released by the Blackhawks. "The measure of success is very high in Chicago. I look forward to supporting the coaching staff and working with some of the best players in the National Hockey League." During his playing days, Dineen spent time as a linemate of Quennevilles with the Hartford Whalers. In total he played 1,188 NHL games, finishing with 355 goals and 405 assists. "Kevin brings proven leadership qualities, having served as an alternate captain and captain for several of his teams during his 19-year NHL career," Chicago general manager Stan Bowman said in a statement. "He will bring another well respected voice to our coaching staff and we look forward to his contributions to our team." Dineen represented Canada in international competition six times as a player, including the 1984 Olympics and 1987 Canada Cup. He only added to his international resume with his most recent international coaching jobs, and Salmond called Dineen "a great friend to Hockey Canada." Salmond credited Dineen for changing "a bit of the culture" with the womens team after taking over for Dan Church, who resigned in December, and capturing the nations attention with the gold-medal run. With the under-18 mens team, which won a bronze medal, Salmond said Dineen did a fantastic job by helping Canada play to a level it hadnt reached in recent years. "I think we are very grateful for what he was able to bring," Salmond said. "Hes obviously a professional, a former professional player and I think he brings that kind of mentality to coaching. He was great for our program, kind of gave us another perspective and helped us with some things both on the womens side and on the mens side that hell leave behind." Dineen coached the AHLs Portland Pirates for six years before taking over the Panthers. Florida made the playoffs in one of his two full seasons behind the bench, and Dineen was fired 16 games into 2013-14. Joe Delaney Jersey . James Rodriguez curled in a free kick in the 19th minute to give Monaco the lead after the Colombia forward was tripped by Cheikh MBengue. Anthony Martial was handed his first league start in place of the injured Falcao and the 17-year-old forward scored on the stroke of halftime, exchanging passes with Emmanuel Riviere just inside the area before firing into the bottom right corner. Rennes almost got one back 12 minutes from time but Tiemoue Bakayokos effort crashed off the right upright. Monaco remained a point behind Lille but is provisionally two points behind defending champion PSG, which hosts Lyon on Sunday. "I am very happy," Monaco coach Claudio Ranieri said. "The team was very focused, and dealt very well with Rennes counterattacks. Our aim is to qualify for the Champions League. But if Paris loses its rhythm, I want Monaco to be there. "(Martial) had a very good match. I have the experience to know when it is the best moment to give a player his debut. With a lot of champions around him, he can learn a lot here. He has the skills to become a great player, the potential to have a great career." Halftime substitute Ronny Rodelin scored the only goal of the game, two minutes after going onto the field. Pape Souare crossed to the far post where Rodelin was waiting to send a strike into the bottom left corner with his first touch. Lille was forced to play almost the entire second half with 10 men after Franck Beria was seent off following a second booking in the 53rd but goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama managed to keep a 10th successive clean sheet, stretching the time he has not conceded a goal to 945 minutes, The Nigerian is just short of PSG goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigus second-best mark of 948 from last season. Nice defender Jordan Amavi turned the ball into his own net in the 71st and Aboubakar sealed the result in stoppage time. Toulouse ended a run of four matches without a win as Wissam Ben Yedder scored a hat trick to help his team to a convincing 5-1 victory over bottom club Sochaux. Sochaux goalkeeper Simon Pouplin and defender Lionel Zouma both scored own goals. Cedric Bakambu had a goal harshly ruled out for offside for the visitors. Elsewhere, Guingamp beat Nantes 1-0 thanks to a 63rd-minute header from Younousse Sankhare. Saint-Etienne eased to a comfortable 4-0 win at home to Reims. After a goalless first half in which both teams struggled to get shots on target, Bayal Sall broke the deadlock shortly after the hour mark, heading home Romain Hamoumas corner. Saint-Etienne doubled its lead in the 76th minute when Loic Perrin headed in Yohan Mollos free kick, and the captain added a second two minutes later. Reims goalkeeper Kossi Agassa managed to parry Salls header but Perrin headed in the rebound. Mevlut Erding added a fourth three minutes from time as Saint-Etienne moved provisionally fifth. ' ' '

The first-place Habs hope to take out their frustrations Friday night when they visit the Buffalo Sabres at First Niagara Center. It marked the fourth time the Canadiens were blanked this season, but the Habs responded from their previous three shutout losses with victories in the next game. The Canadiens lead the Atlantic Division with 33 points -- 19 more than the last-place Sabres -- and have won the last six meetings with Buffalo. Montreal, which is 7-3-1 as the visiting team this season, also owns a four- game road winning streak against the Sabres. Montreal had won two straight before getting slammed by the Rangers on Sunday. New York scored once in the first period, and added two goals in both the second and third stanzas. The Jets recorded a 2-1 win behind goals from Bryan Little and Michael Frolik. Chris Stewart scored in the third period and Jhonas Enroth stopped 24 shots for Buffalo. The Sabres only fired 20 shots on net in the loss and went 0-for-4 on the power play. We couldnt get our power play going. LOUIS – On the heels of their best game all year came one of the worst. The Maple Leafs were blasted 6-3 by the Blues at Scottrade Center on Thursday night. It was Torontos eighth loss in the past 10 games (2-6-2), 13th in the past 19, and a drastic reversal in course from an inspired home loss to the Kings one night earlier. "Tonight it looked like we were totally brain-dead in a lot of areas," said Randy Carlyle, following the defeat. All the persistence, feistiness and energy of their effort against Los Angeles deteriorated in a hurry against the Blues. St. Louis buried three goals on its first 15 shots in a dominant opening frame – chasing James Reimer from the crease – before adding a goal in the second and a pair in the third. "It just looked like we werent there mentally at the start," said Carlyle. It was a stinging return to the inconsistent, chaotic hockey which has plagued the group for the better part of the season. Most baffling, however, was the dramatic shift in performance from the night previous. Though they ultimately fell 3-1 to Los Angeles at the ACC on Wednesday night, the Leafs were the superior team and played their most complete game of the season. The starting point they hoped to gain from the effort – a largely stingy defensive effort – never materialized against the Blues, dominant with 21 wins in 30 games this season. "Even though we lost that game [against the Kings] it was something to build on," said Carl Gunnarsson, "and tonight its like it was all gone." Concern has to be inching ever upward with the mounting losses and little to no sustained improvement. The Leafs have just two regulation victories since the start of November and face the defending Stanley Cup champs at home on Saturday. "Our concern has been very high for a while here," said Carlyle. "We thought with our performance [Wednesday] night it would be something we could build on, but we just didnt have any kind of an energy to be able to put forth an effort that was needed." Five Points 1. Defensive Issues In describing his team as "totally brain-dead", Carlyle was referring mostly to the areas in which St. Louis managed to score. David Backes opened the scoring untouched from just outside the slot. Jaden Schwartz had two whacks just outside the blue paint for the second St. Louis goal. Derek Roy pranced in untouched through the slot on the third. Chances and opportunities of that kind continued throughout the night. "I dont know any other way to describe it from a standpoint of where the goals were being scored from again," said Carlyle. "We have systems that our coverage has to be in place and if you vacate those critical areas youre going to give up quality scoring chances." Revealingly, the Leafs have allowed three goals or more in 13 of the past 19 games, losing all but one. "They had a lot of freedom in our zone," said Carlyle of the Blues. "Look where they scored the goals from." 2. In Need of Urgency Carlyle has been beating the drum of urgency from the opening days of the season when his team won games on the shoulders of terrific goaltending and special teams. But at this point in the year, more than a third of way through but with plenty of time still remaining, the urgency level appears mixed in the Toronto dressing room. A clear understanding of just how long this skid has lingered seems lost. "Theres lotts of time," said Nazem Kadri. https://www.packersrookiestore.com/Packers-Bart-Starr-Jersey/" class="TyTxtSmlC">Bart Starr Super Bowl Jersey. "Fifty games left, theres no reason to panic. Its just something weve got to figure out in the dressing room." "We started off playing terrific," he said later of the teams start to the season. "Obviously some things made us take a couple steps backward with injuries and things like that. Its tough to be mentally and physically prepared when things like that just keep happening. But its up to us. Were professionals. We do have a good team inside this dressing room. We believe we can win and were confident still, weve just got to figure out ways around these games." 3. Urgency v. Intensity James Reimer had interesting insight on the need for urgency amid a skid thats lingered for more than a month and longer than that if you include October. "Sometimes its hard to differ between urgency and intensity," he said. "If you get tense thats the worst-case scenario. If you can get some urgency in your game without squeezing your stick then thats important. But in the market we play in the biggest key is keeping the pressure off and trying to stay as loose as possible. Thats the main thing. Its really easy to get too intense. Do we need some more urgency? Probably. But you have to be careful when you start going down that path." 4. Reimers Quick Night Reimer got the hook after third Blues goal. He allowed three goals on 15 shots and was replaced by Jonathan Bernier. "Too many goals," Reimer said of the performance, coming on the heels of a 47-save effort in Ottawa. "I felt good out there, felt good in warm-up, felt like I was seeing the puck. But just a couple got by, obviously a couple too many. "I felt like I was on my game, pucks just found a way in." "Im not blaming the goaltending specifically," said Carlyle. "I just think it was part in parcel with our hockey club." 5. Western Exposure The Blues were the fourth Western Conference team on the Leafs docket in the first two weeks of December with Chicago and Phoenix lying ahead in the days to come. "Guys say its more defensive in that conference," Jake Gardiner said prior to the loss to St. Louis. "I was talking to [former Leaf] Matt Frattin and he said the same thing. He said its a lot harder to score and get points and get production. Yeah, definitely noticed a difference." (Frattin had seven goals and 13 points in 25 games with the Leafs last season, but has just two goals and six points with similar ice-time through the same number of games with the Kings). "Theres definitely a different style," said Jay McClement, who spent all but his last two seasons in the West. "Theres obviously a lot of big, strong teams out here." The Leafs are now 7-7-1 versus the West this season. Stats-Pack 13 – Losses for the Leafs in the past 19 games. 13 – Number of times in those 19 games that the Leafs allowed three goals or more, losing all but one. 7-7-1 – Leafs record versus the Western Conference this season. 14 – Goals for James van Riemsdyk this season. Special Teams Capsule PP: 0-3Season: 23.3 per cent (4th) PK: 3-3Season: 77.2 per cent (27th) Quote of the Night "Tonight it looked like we were totally brain-dead in a lot of areas." -Randy Carlyle, following the loss to St. Louis Up Next The Leafs host the defending champion Chicago Blackhawks at the ACC on Saturday evening. Antonio Di Natale scored the only goal in the 66th minute, finishing off a great team move by Udinese. "Were disappointed," Milan coach Clarence Seedorf said. "Youre never happy when you lose and certainly more so when certain mistakes could have been avoided. The lads tried tonight and gave what they could but we need to be more clinical in front of goal. "We have to keep in mind our good performances and not forget all that we have done well up until now. Its a football match on Tuesday and we can win it, we are convinced. Everyone saw the first leg and we have to pick up from that performance." Milan remained provisionally 10th after its second successive league defeat. Udinese moved to 13th with its first win in four matches. "Its a fantastic victory against a great club like Milan," Di Natale said. Being International Womens Day, he dedicated the win to his wife "and all the women." Milan enjoyed the best opportunities in the first half and forced teenage goalkeeper Simone Scuffet into several fine saves, notably denying Giampaolo Pazzini from close range with one hand. Cristian Zapata should have given Milan the lead moments earlier but headed a corner wide after being left unmarked at the far post. Scuffet also made a superb diving save shortly after halftime to parry Robinhos header from point-blank range. Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati -- who made his league debut when Scuffet was only two years old -- pulled off a brilliant save to deny Roberto Pereyra early on. Udinese improved after the break and took the lead when Pereyra released Bruno Fernandes, who crossed for an unmarked Di Natale to slot home. Substitute Mario Balotelli blasted over the bar shortly afterwards for Milan, while Allan curled an effort narrowly past the top corner for Udinese. Also, relegation-threatened Catania drew 1-1 at home to 10-man Cagliari. Matias Vecino broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute but Catania levelled nine minutes later when Gonzalo Bergessio nodded in Francesco Lodis curling free kick at the far post. Cagliari had to play out the final 17 minutes a man down after Danilo Avelar was sent off following a second booking. Catania almost made the most of the numerical advantage but hit the woodwork twice in quick succession as first Cristiano Biraghis effort crashed off the post before Alexis Rolin headed off the bar. Catania remained second to last. Fake Yeezy 350 V2 . Austin does not believe the game-time temperature is going to be an advantage for either side heading into the Grey Cup. INDIANAPOLIS - If you ask the Phoenix Suns about their promising start to the NBA season, coach Jeff Hornacek is optimistic while the players are focused on the long-term goal of getting back to the playoffs. Jamaal Williams Super Bowl Jersey .After making a late-season playoff push last spring, the Phoenix Suns have picked up where they left off and are blazing their way through their first extended road trip of the season.Gerald Green scored a game-high 23 points, Isaiah Thomas scored 16 points off the bench and two other starters scored in double figures Saturday in Phoenixs 106-83 road win over Indiana. With the victory Phoenix (9-5) got its fourth straight win - all on the road during a six-game road trip.Things are looking up in the Valley of the Sun.Were getting a little bit of a rhythm, Hornacek said. Its something about being on the road. These guys have come together and everybody is contributing. The Suns improved their road record to 5-2 this season and remain one of the leagues highest-scoring teams. And it was their ability to score in bunches that allowed the Suns to seize control against the Pacers.Green, going against his former team, caught fire with three minutes left in the first quarter and stayed hot until he took himself out with seven minutes left in the half. In that stretch, Green dumped 18 points on the Pacers and helped the Suns maintain a lead that they took into the half (55-4.Hes among the group inside the organization that feels the team has turned the corner with Hornacek at the helm. But that group also says last seasons late run and this seasons early success only will be meaningful if the Suns can be consistent over the course of an 82-game schedule. Were potentially a 48-to-50 win team, Green said. But potential doesnt mean anything if you dont prepare your potential. Right now were just trying to take it game-by-game. Just because you win four games in-a-row doesnt mean youre guaranteed to make the playoffs so were just trying to use this to build on.With the loss, the Pacers not only saw their two-game win streak end, but they lost starting centre Roy Hibbert midway through the first quarter due to a sprained left ankle. He attempted to return with 9:23 left in the first half but was unable to remain in the game. Hibbert logged just under seven minutes in the game.In his absence, Ian Mahinmi recorded 12 points and 10 rebounds but was limited in the fourth quarter because of foul trouble. The Pacers werent certain on Hibberts status immediately after the game. He had already left the arena before the game ended.Should Hibbert miss any action other than the 2 1/2 quarters he sat out Saturday, hell join fellow starters George Hill, David West and Paul George on the sidelines. Those three starters have not yet played a game for the Pacers this season.Despite relying on role players in the starting lineup because of the number of injuries, Indiana (5- had won four of its last five games entering Saturdays contest. Indiana was led by Rodney Stuckey, who scored 14 points off the Pacers bench. Hill scored 13 and grabbed six rebounds. Markieff Morris added 13 for Phoenix and Goran Dragic had 11.Now headed out for a two-game road trip against Dallas and San Antonio, the Pacers say theyre still confident in themselves and in the way theyre approaching games despite having three starters who havent played and awaiting an update on Hibberts left ankle.I think were here mentally. Were in every game, said Hill, who hit the game-winning shot Wednesday for Indiana in an 88-86 win over Charlotte. We still believe in each other.___TIP-INSNO HARD FEELINGS - Going against his former team, Gerald Green torched the Pacers for 18 points in an 8-minute span. Indiana had no answer, and Greens run came to an end only because he pulled himself out of the game to catch a breather.THEYRE FREE - Phoenix has taken advantage of its trips to the foul stripe this season, leading the league at 82.9 per cent going into Saturdays game. Against the Pacers, the Suns knocked down 18 of 20 free throws.UP NEXTIndiana plays on the road Monday at Dallas.Phoenix travels to Toronto on Monday. Ray Nitschke Super Bowl Jersey . Three days after falling to Hamilton, Abbotsford scored three goals in 53 seconds en route to a convincing 5-1 win over the Bulldogs Saturday in American Hockey League play. Raven Greene Super Bowl Jersey . The alley-oop looked easy -- just like everything else after halftime for the Miami Heat. James scored 32 points, Wade added 22 points and eight assists, and the Heat trailed by 11 early in the second half before running away to a 107-88 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night. http://www.officialgreenbaypackerspro.com/Dexter-williams-packers-jersey/ . The San Angelo, Texas product, who was a high school and college quarterback sensation in the Lone Star State, will start his first CFL game with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-4) on Friday at Mosaic Stadium against the leagues top team, the Calgary Stampeders (11-2).History and Controversy in Week 2 The Ottawa Redblacks will go through a lot of firsts this year. On Thursday we witnessed the first game played by the new franchise, the first touchdown scored, (Chevon Walker, who will one day be the answer to a trivia question), and almost the first win. The Henry Burris-led expansion franchise got out to a 14-point first quarter lead, but couldnt hold on against a Blue Bomber team that is for real. More on the Bombers shortly, but it was fantastic to see and call a game involving Ottawa again. Football teams in our nations capital never had bad fans, just bad owners, and that is not the case this time around. The business model is sound, the league is strong, and football fans in Ottawa can trust that this team will be around for decades to come, and get emotionally invested. The players on this team are certainly "all in". They played hard, on the road, in a hostile environment, and almost got it done. It wont be long until we see some more firsts. Like the first game at home which is already sold out on July 18, and based on Thursdays game it wont be long until we see their first win. The Real Deal Now to the Bombers, and yes they are for real! On paper there still may be some who are suggesting other teams in the league are more talented, or maybe more experienced. However, this is a "what have you done for me lately?" business so experience only helps you if you are executing. Also, at the pro level every player is talented, and the difference between winning and losing is smaller than third and inches, so the culture you create for those talented players is what gives you the edge. The difference in Winnipeg this year is that head coach Michael OShea is a team first guy to the core. It oozes out of him when he talks and it is the main reason the Bombers are off to a 2-0 start. Yes, Drew Willy has looked excellent and they have found a tailback in Nic Grigsby but lots of teams have good QBs and tailbacks. OShea is teaching that the team is the priority and that all decisions must be made with the team considered before any personal agendas. It sounds simple but there are many examples of coaches that couldnt get the message across to their players. OShea has not been perfect. He kicked around the handling of veteran Korey Banks for longer than he had to, but his teams record is perfect so far, and that is what matters more than anything. Oh, and in the end the Bombers new head coach did eventually make the right decision when it came to Banks when he cut him loose. Banks wasnt happy with his role and that may have affected the culture in the locker room. By cutting Banks and letting him continue his career somewhere else, OShea made a team-first decision. Reaction to Willis hit on Collaros There are lots of differing opinions on the hit from Odell Willis of the Edmonton Eskimos on Zach Collaros of the Ticats. On one side there are those that argue the game is fast, physical and played by tough men who know what they signed up for, which is all true. It is an old school mentality and its not wrong. However, we live in a new world where player safety has become a priority in contact sports. Finding ways to make hockey and football safer for those who participate is not just dominating league meetings, but is also very important to the playerrs associations. Blake Martinez Super Bowl Jersey. So what about the hit from Willis? First, it looked like the Esks defensive end did try and turn his head and avoid helmet-to-helmet contact. Second, it also looked like he tried to lead with his shoulder, therefore you can assume that there was no intent to target Collaros head. It is also true that if there is a penalty flag thrown every time helmets collide than there would be a penalty called on every play. Having said all of that, if in fact Willis did contact the head of Collaros - whether it was an accident or not - a penalty had to be called. Many times a defensive player gets pushed or trips into the quarterbacks legs accidentally, and that has to be called as well. The league will also review the hit and there could be supplementary discipline handed down in the form of a fine. It is no longer acceptable to say that it is a tough game and things happen at light speed so you have to let the guys play. Improving player safety is priority number one, and has become a legal issue. In fact you could take the discussion even further. The Players Associations in hockey and football are negotiating the player safety agenda into new CBA agreements, and yet dont self-govern when it comes to questionable hits in a game. How many times have we heard the CFLPA announce that they are appealing a fine by the league on a player who has made a questionable hit? It happens virtually every time a player is fined or suspended. Meanwhile the player that took the hit, in this case Zach Collaros, missed the rest of the game and could possibly miss more due to concussion issues. How many times has the Players Association announced a fine within their own organization to a player/member for a questionable hit? That to my knowledge has never happened. The players associations in contact sports have got to start imposing their own fines to players that cross the line, and show the league that improving player safety is not just the responsibility of the leagues head office, but the associations as well. It looks like the hit by Willis was an accident with no intent, but it was to the head of a quarterback, and that is a penalty and should also result in a fine. There is no provision in the rule book that says, "if the player hits a quarterback in the head by accident, or if he didnt mean to do it, then the hit becomes legal." The only way that Willis could avoid a fine here is if the league determines that Collaros didnt actually get hit in the head but it was the whiplash effect that caused his concussion symptoms, and of the TV angles shown so far that doesnt seem feasible. The tougher rules in contact sports these days are designed to change the behaviour of players to protect them from themselves. Those rules are not going away anytime soon, in fact they are getting tougher. We might as well all get used to it and drop the tough guy talk. If the league lets the Willis hit go without supplementary discipline, it will set a precedent for every other time a defensive player hits the head of a quarterback accidentally. There cant be any more grey area. If a defensive player hits the head of a QB, it is a penalty and a fine or suspension - thats the new reality of football. So much so, it is hard to see why there was even a debate on this hit in the first place. ' ' '

CHICAGO -- Aaron Rodgers is back leading the Green Bay Packers and that could be bad news for every other playoff team. Kentavius Street Super Bowl Jersey . He returned from a broken collarbone and is taking aim at a post-season run, even if it took one big pass to get there. Rodgers fired a 48-yard touchdown to Randall Cobb in the final minute, and the Packers beat the Chicago Bears 33-28 to capture the NFC North championship on Sunday. "This is a special group of guys whove been through a lot," Rodgers said. "Its been a rollercoaster." Back after missing seven games with a broken left collarbone, Rodgers found a wide-open Cobb on fourth-and-8 to wipe out a one-point deficit with 38 seconds left. Green Bay will host San Francisco next weekend in the wild-card round. The Bears had one final drive, but Jay Cutlers deep pass to Alshon Jeffery was intercepted by Sam Shields on the final play. That gave the Packers (8-7-1) their third straight division title and fifth post-season appearance in a row. It also kept the Bears (8- out of the playoffs for the sixth time in seven years. Things werent looking great for the Packers after Chicagos Brandon Marshall spun away from Tramon Williams in the end zone on the first play of the fourth quarter to make it 28-20. But Green Bay answered with a touchdown drive. Eddie Lacy ran in from the 6 after a 22-yard pass from Rodgers to Andrew Quarless went through safety Chris Contes hands, making it a one-point game. Then, on the winning drive, Green Bay converted twice on fourth-and-1 before Rodgers eluded pressure and unleashed that winning pass to Cobb. A block by John Kuhn on Julius Peppers helped Rodgers roll to the edge and find Cobb by himself down the field. "We had a blitz on," Bears coach Marc Trestman said. "We lost an edge. Aaron was able to get outside. Once he got outside things happen. When youve got a zero blitz on things can happen. And we just lost coverage with our eyes in the backfield." For Rodgers, it was a strong finish after a shaky start, and it gave him some payback against the team that nearly ended his season. He was intercepted on the Packers first two possessions but threw for 318 yards and two touchdowns in his first appearance since he was injured in a loss to Chicago on Nov. 4. Cobb, in his first appearance since Oct. 13, caught just two passes but both were for touchdowns. "To be in that moment at the end of the game and have that opportunity, its a blessing," Cobb said. Jordy Nelson had 161 yards receiving. James Starks ran for 88 yards. Eddie Lacy aggravated his ankle injury in the third quarter and finished with just 66. For the Bears, their first season under Marc Trestman ended the same way five of the previous six did under Lovie Smith -- on the outside looking in at the playoffs. This loss is sure to spark memories of Green Bays victory in the 2010 NFC title game at Soldier Field on the way to the Super Bowl championship -- and fuel more questions about Cutlers ability to win big games even though he played well. With a playoff spot on the line and his contract set to expire, Cutler threw for 226 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He is now 1-9 against Green Bay, including that conference final and a loss with Denver in 2007. Marshall guaranteed Cutler will be back next season, and Cutler said hed like to return. "Youd love to," Cutler said. "You cant predict the future, though. Im not really going to get into whats going to happen. It always works out how its supposed to." Matt Forte ran for 110 yards and two scores. He also had 47 yards receiving with a touchdown catch. Alshon Jeffery had 80 yards receiving, and Brandon Marshall had 74. Two unusual plays late in the first half turned a 7-3 deficit into a 13-7 advantage for the Packers. Green Bay had a first down at the Chicago 17 when a sack and strip against Rodgers by Julius Peppers turned into a wild touchdown. Jarrett Boykin ran across the field, picked up the loose ball as play stopped. One thing, though: The whistle never blew. With Rodgers standing nearby, Boykin turned and headed 15 yards to the end zone, and after a replay review, it stood. That stunned the crowd and gave the Packers a 10-7 lead. Green Bay caught another big break on the Bears next possession when Jeffery fumbled a pass at the Chicago 41. Morgan Burnett picked up the ball and lateraled to Shields, who returned it to the Chicago 28. That led to a 27-yard field goal by Mason Crosby to make it a six-point game at the half. As for Boykins fumble recovery, Rodgers said it was one of the strangest plays he could recall. "Boykin finally picked it up, I looked back at (referee) Clete (Blakeman), he was looking at us so I think myself and everybody on the sideline was telling him to start running," Rodgers said. "It was one of the crazier plays Ive been part of." Notes: Bears RT had his left foot in a walking boot and was on crutches after being injured on the games first offensive series. ... MONTREAL -- The much-anticipated first NHL meeting between brothers Malcolm and P.K. Subban turned out to be a bit of a dud. P.K. Subban, the Norris Trophy winning defenceman for the Montreal Canadiens, managed one feeble shot against 19-year-old Malcolm, a goaltending prospect for the arch-rival Boston Bruins. And the Bruins outshot Montreal 40-20 and blew the game open with three third period goals en route to a 6-3 pre-season victory on Monday night. Malcolm Subban stopped all 12 shots he faced -- none of them terribly difficult -- after entering the game in relief of Chad Johnson midway through the second frame. "I didnt get very many shots, but it was good for sure," said the younger Subban, a top goalie in the Ontario Hockey League for the Belleville Bulls who was a 2012 first-round pick by Boston. "Obviously it was a great experience and a fun time." P.K. Subban, who had beaten Johnson with a rocket on a power play in the second period, didnt get much on his one attempt on his brother. "I think he had one that was probably his slowest shot ever, just a little knuckle-puck on net, but it was pretty fun," Malcolm said with a laugh. Jarome Iginla scored twice, including the game-winner, while Nick Johnson, with two, David Krejci and Zach Trotman also had goals for the Bruins, who scored three each on Carey Price and Robert Mayer. Boston went 4-for-6 on the power play. Travis Moen, Max Pacioretty and Subban scored as Johnson allowed three goals on only eight shots. The Subbans father, grandfather and next door neighbour were in from Toronto to see them play against each other for the first time at the level. Its something that is likely to be a regular occurrence in regular season and even playoff games once Malcolm is established as an NHL goalie. Then they will be part of the bittter rivalry between teams that are old foes. Ronnie Lott Super Bowl Jersey. But this time was low key. When Malcolm entered the game, there was a tepid mix of boos and cheers from the Bell Centre fans, even though it had been the talk of the town for much of the day. One downtown pub even offered customers a free shot of whiskey if P.K. scored on his brother. It was not to be. "It was a pretty cool experience," said P.K. Subban. "We made eye contact, but we lost the game, so Im not going to smile or talk to him too much. "Ill see him after the game. Im sure hell rib me about the loss. But I was just playing the game. If I had scored on him, great, but Im just trying to help the team win. I thought he handled himself well for his first game." It was probably best for Boston coach Claude Julien to get the Subban versus Subban sideshow out of the way in a pre-season game, rather than having the youngster do it under pressure and a circus atmosphere in the regular season. "I think its something special and its an opportunity I was able to give him," said Julien, still looking for a backup for starter Tuukka Rask. "It was done on purpose and it was done for the right reasons. "I liked his game tonight very much. He looked in control, he looked calm. He made the saves look easy because he was well-positioned. Hes showing good signs of maturity, and thats the biggest challenge for goaltenders when they turn professional. "Certainly hes on the right track and I couldnt have been happier for him in his first game against his brother." After the game, the Canadiens cut 14 players, including Mayer and 2009 first-rounder Louis Leblanc. Three will return to Quebec Major Junior Hockey League teams -- Zach Fucale to Halifax, Charles Hudon to Chicoutimi and Martin Reway to Gatineau. The rest were assigned to AHL Hamilton. ' ' '

The bad news, though, was that it was all Philadelphia after that. The Flyers erased the two-goal deficit — thanks in part to four-point nights from both Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek — and skated away with a 7-4 win at Air Canada Centre. We had a good start offensively, but we gave them a lot of good scoring chances, said Leafs defenceman, Stephane Robidas. Thats a good team out there, they have a lot of skill and we beat our self basically.Giroux scored twice and added two assists, and Voracek chipped in with four helpers to take the NHL scoring lead in a game that saw the Flyer outshoot the Leafs 42-25.We started the way that we wanted, we come out we have a great start and give them credit, they came back, said Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf. Were tied up and they just seemed to push the pace of the game and continue to play a harder game than we did.We took our foot off the gas pedal after we scored early and we just didnt regain any traction the rest of the game.Voraceks four points give him 42 on the season, three more than Dallas Stars forward Tyler Seguin. It was Voraceks second career four-point game. His first was on Feb. 18, 2013.I think we skated very well today, we were attacking, we were forechecking, we were backchecking, said Voracek. How many shots did we have? 40? On the road its tough to do but because we were skating and aggressive with the puck thats why we scored so many goals.Added Giroux: The thing about Jake is that defensively hes playing very well for our team and thats why Im able to get scoring chances because were able to get the puck out. For a guy like me, playing centre with Jake makes my job a lot easier and Im pretty lucky to play with him.R.J. It wasnt just happening by fluke. After Umberger got the Flyers on the board with his third of the season, Philadelphia and Toronto scored three goals in 26 seconds, setting a new Leafs record for the fastest three goals scored by both teams.Couturier tied it 2-2 with his eighth of the season, Clarkson briefly gave Toronto a 3-2 lead at 11:33 of the first, and Giroux tied the game again 11 seconds later. We played aggressive, said Flyers coach Craig Berube. We needed to be a lot more aggressive and we were tonight, we attacked and shot the puck and had some real good offensive-zone time.Robidas took a hit from Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds as time was expiring in the second period and fell awkwardly on his left shoulder. He had his shoulder heavily wrapped after the game.Just a little injury, but its nothing, Robidas said. No big deal.Saturday was the first of three meetings between the two clubs.
