NEW YORK -- The NHL is threatening to relocate the Phoenix Coyotes if Glendale city council doesnt approve a new arena deal for the franchise by July 2. Cliff Avril Seahawks Jersey . That was commissioner Gary Bettmans strong stance Thursday after a board of governors meeting that included an update on the Coyotes situation but not much else in the way of progress, as the league waits on the process in Arizona. Renaissance Sports & Entertainment has agreed to buy the team, but everything is contingent on an arena management deal getting done. "If the council doesnt approve it so that this transaction can close, I dont think the Coyotes will be playing there anymore," Bettman said. Strengthening his position from the Stanley Cup final -- the original target for the city of Glendale to finish the deal -- Bettman explained that the NHL has "lots of options" if the Coyotes must relocate, even if that plan B hasnt yet been ironed out. "I find it difficult to conceive of why, if the council turns this down, we would want to keep the team in Glendale any longer," Bettman said. "And so we will then, if they turn it down, have to deal with the possibilities and the options that will be available to us, and they are numerous." Deputy commissioner Bill Daly didnt want to get into specific cities that could get the Coyotes if keeping the team in Glendale doesnt work out. Asked specifically about Seattles Key Arena, he said it could house an NHL team. Asked about Quebec City being an option, Daly said, "I wouldnt rule it out." "I think we tried to be clear that obviously there are a number of alternatives, and we have to decide which one is best for us in the short term," Daly said. The short term would begin in 2013-14. Bettman and Daly confirmed there is enough time to move the Coyotes to another city without them playing a lame-duck season in Glendale. If the Coyotes move, the conference and division alignments wont change, according to Daly, even if it means a less-than-ideal situation like what the Winnipeg Jets went through after moving from Atlanta. Not knowing whether the Coyotes will be in Glendale or somewhere else is holding up the release of the next NHL schedule. But so is completion of an agreement to send NHL players to the Olympics in Sochi in 2014. Bettman said the board of governors gave him authority to get a deal done and that theres a meeting Monday in New York "to hopefully conclude that." The board discussed rule changes such as hybrid icing being tested in pre-season and visors being made mandatory for incoming players, but Bettman declined to give details as to whether they were approved, deferring to the NHLPA, which meets next week and must formally approve them. The Coyotes situation obviously drew the most attention. Colorado Avalanche executive vice president of hockey operations Joe Sakic said the board was "brought up to speed" but declined to reveal much more. At this point, the NHL has to wait. "Were anticipating or hoping that the Glendale City Council passes the proposed deal with the Renaissance group for the operation of the building and the club playing there going forward," Bettman said. "Thats an essential ingredient to this moving forward." Custom Seahawks Jersey . Murray swept into the semi-finals of the ATP Tour Finals with a 6-4 6-2 victory over Wawrinka on Friday as the world No 1 remained on course for a blockbuster showdown against Novak Djokovic.Murray brushed aside the Swiss in 86 minutes at Londons O2 Arena to ensure he finished top of his group and avoided a last four clash with Djokovic. Murray was delighted with his display in defeating Wawrinka The Scot has won all of them, although the Canadian was forced to pull out of their Paris Masters clash just last week due to a leg injury.Andy has had the better of him but theyve had some battles, but I actually think its a good thing theyve played as much as they have, said Petchey. Not just from the wins Andys had but also when you face a big server you want to try and find a pattern, you want to try and see the ball toss. One of the crucial things is the return and the fact Andy has played him as much as he has this year he is going to have a good understanding of whats coming at him, so I think from that perspective its very much a positive thing. Murray makes O2 semi-finals Andy Murray beats Stan Wawrinka at ATP World Tour Finals to reach semi-finals The wins that hes had will lead him to feel much more confident going into it and from our perspective as neutrals, the way that the semi-finals have fallen this gives us the potential of the blockbuster of a final that people we wondering whether we would have.Theres no question that you cant be complacent against a guy like Raonic with that kind of serve and those groundstrokes. If you give him an opportunity, then he will produce. And hes hungry. He wants to finish the season as number three, but thats something that will prompt him to be as motivated as he can and hell have learned from those losses as well.Andy will perhaps be expecting something a little bit different. Murray joined Leif Shiras at the SkyPad to look back at his victory over Wawrinka Petchey was delighted with Murrays display as he produced a ruthless performance against US Open champion Wawrinka, which took his winning streak to 22 matches and equalled his career best run earlier this year. Michael Griffin Vikings Jersey. I thought it was fantastic - a well executed plan, he said. I think that he struck the ball considerably better than he did against Nishikori and both those two guys Nishikori and Stan can take your time away so thats probably going to be the most pleasing aspect for Andy, that he was able to dictate a lot of the points.I thought Stan started the match strongly as well, he really timed the ball well and once he gets his motor up and running hes a difficult man to stop. From Andys perspective I think hes always self-critical, but I think he will always find it difficult to find a fault with that performance. Heres the moment Murray equalled his career best run of 22 matches unbeaten Sky Sports commentator Barry Millns was also impressed with Murrays quick-fire demolition job and believes the best four players in the tournament have made it through to the last four.He said: Murray was playing with calm authority and playing as a world No 1 today. He didnt have the inner turmoil that he had perhaps in the earlier matches. To do that in under an hour and a half after the battle that he had against Nishikori, well that now is just the perfect tonic because it was short and very sweet and hes brought his game to the boil right on cue for the semi-finals.The four guys involved makes for a fantastic showdown after a great week. CLEVELAND -- Interim general manager David Griffin said before the Cavaliers game Sunday night that hed like to see a few more smiles from his team. Braylon Edwards Seahawks Jersey . Following Clevelands 91-83 overtime win over Memphis, there were happy faces all around the locker room. "The game is fun," said Kyrie Irving, who scored 28 points as Cavaliers won back-to-back games for the first time in a month. "Being out there, just competing at the highest level. At the end of the day, its just a game." The Cavaliers, who broke a six-game losing streak Friday night against Washington, have won both games since general manager Chris Grant was fired last week. Irving scored the final four points in regulation to tie it. Luol Dengs 3-pointer on the first possession of overtime put Cleveland ahead for good, 81-78. While a two-game winning streak wont remedy all the teams problems in an adversity-filled season, the Cavaliers want to seize on any positive momentum they can find. "Everybody was putting too much pressure on themselves," Irving said. "We needed to go out there and play basketball. Going out there the last two games, whether the game gets tight or gets away from you, it should be fun." Nick Calathes scored 17 points to lead Memphis, which has lost three of four since winning six straight. Deng began the overtime scoring with a 3-pointer from the corner as the shot clock was winding down. Baskets by Dion Waiters and Anderson Varejao, sandwiched around a 3-pointer by Calathes, left Cleveland with an 85-81 lead. A resounding dunk by Waiters and four free throws by Irving put the game away. "They had the two best players on the floor in Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving," Grizzlies coach David Joerger said. "They really took the game over from start to finish." Joerger blamed the Grizzlies poor first half, in which they fell behind by 14 points, for the loss. "We slogged in the mud at the start tonight, which you cant do on the road," he said. James Johnson scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to help Memphis erase a nine-point deficit. Cleveland led 74-65 but was held scoreless for 4:54 as the Grizzlies took a 78-74 lead. Irving tied it with a layup with 18 seconds remaining and was fouled, but missed the free throw, giving Memphis the ball with 16.7 seconds left. Zach Randolph lost the ball while driving the lane and Waiters heave from just inside halfcourt hit off the backboard. Griffin met with the players at Sunday morning at the shootaround while owner Dan Gilbert spoke with them prior to the game. "I think it woke up a lot of people," Waiters said of Grants dismissal. "Me, I felt half of that was my fault, how we played. We just didnt come out right as a unit. I think it cost the man his job. If we had been playing the way we have the last two games hed probably still be here. We cant dwell on the past, weve got to continue to play the way weve been playing and keep it up." Waiters scored 18 points, and C.J. Miles added 14 for Cleveland. Johnson scored 15 points for Memphis. Randolph, who left the game in the second quarter to get three stitches to close a cut under his left eye, had 14 points. Calathes, playing in place of the injured Mike Conley, made his first six shots and was 7 of 9 from the field. Randolph went to the locker room late in the second quarter after taking an elbow in the face from Tristan Thompson while they were going for a rebound. Randolph was on the court for a couple of moments and asked for a towel to put to his face. He tapped hands with Thompson before jogging off the court with a team trainer. Randolph returned to start the third quarter. "Teams know we try to go inside to Zach and let him go to work, but weve got to do something with all five guys, not always depend on our horse down there," Said Memphis forward Tayshaun Prince. "We cant allow Zach to always be our hero. It puts us in a tough spot and it puts him in a tough spot." Deng started after missing Fridays game with the flu. NOTES: Grizzlies G Tony Allen (sprained left wrist) is listed as day-to-day, but hasnt taken part in practice. Hes been out since Jan. 3. ... Varejao left the game with a hand injury in the first quarter. He went to the locker room, but returned in the second quarter. Adebayo Akinfenwa was pleased to make an impact after coming off the bench But signs of life from Accrington came not long after as Shay McCartan headed on a cross from Seamus Conneely into the path of Tom Davies but he couldnt quite get a touch on the ball as it flew into the hands of Kelle Roos. VANCOUVER -- Vancouver Canucks 2013 first-round draft choice Hunter Shinkaruk will undergo hip surgery in early January and is expected to miss the rest of the WHL season. Pekka Rinne Jersey . "Hes going to have hip surgery on Jan. 7, and hell be expected to rehabilitate for four to six months beyond that," Canucks general manager Mike Gillis said Friday in an interview. Shinkaruks minimum recovery time gives him a chance to return in mid-May for the Memorial Cup tournament, if his Medicine Hat Tigers qualify by winning the WHL championship. But the odds of him coming back quickly appear long, given that hip problems usually rank among the most serious and require extended rehabilitation periods. Shinkaruk was chosen 24th overall in this years NHL draft and was among Vancouvers last pre-season cuts. The Medicine Hat captain was invited to Team Canadas selection camp for the world junior hockey championships, but was released for the second straight year after travelling to Sweden with the club before the tournament started. "Hes got a slightly torn labrum," said Gillis. "But it doesnt matter if its slightly or more torn. He suffered it early on in the season, tried to play through it and wanted to have an opportunity to make the world junior team. Clearly, his play dropped off fairly considerably after the injury. "He gave it his best effort and the plan all along was that this (decision to have surgery) was going to happen regardless, so it happened a little bit earlier." Gillis said the injury contributed to Shinkaruk, a 19-year-old Calgary native, not having the best opportunity to make Team Canada. The surgery will be performed in Vail, Colo., by Dr. Marc Phillipon, who specializes in repairing hip disorders. Shinkaruk was among two first-round choices selected by Vancouver this year. The Canucks took London Knights centre Bo Horvat with the ninth pick, which they acquired in a draft-day trade from New Jersey for goaltender Cory Schneider. Gillis expects Shinkaruk to be healthy in time for Vancouvers training camp in the fall. "We think hell make a fully recovery and that hell be fully cleared to try and make the hockey club in September," said Gillis. Shinkaruk has recorded five goals and 11 assists for 16 points with the Tigers this season. His junior team is also optimistic that he will bounce back from the ordeal. "We wish Hunter all the best for a successful surgery and a full recovery," said Medicine Hat general manager and coach Shaun Clouston in a release. MINNEAPOLIS -- Another group of former NHL players has joined the fight for compensation for head injuries they say they incurred while playing, while at the same time targeting the violence of the game that they believe brought about those injuries. Eddie Lack Jersey . Retired players Dave Christian, Reed Larson and William Bennett filed a class action lawsuit in federal court on Tuesday alleging that the league has promoted fighting and downplayed the risk of head injuries that come from it. "I think the glorified violence is really the Achilles heel for the NHL," said Charles "Bucky" Zimmerman, an attorney at Zimmerman Reed that filed the lawsuit on behalf of the players. "If anything comes of this, the focus on the glorified violence and perhaps the change to that will be a good thing." The lawsuit, which is similar to one brought by former football players against the NFL, joins others filed by hockey players in Washington and New York and seeks monetary damages and increased medical monitoring. The NHLPA declined to comment. A message was left with the NHL seeking comment. Zimmerman also worked on the football litigation, which resulted in the NFL agreeing to pay a $765 million settlement to thousands of former players. That settlement is still awaiting a judges approval, but the headlines it generated have been partially responsible for hockey players mounting their own case against the NHL. "Weve seen it in football. Its now here in hockey. Its of the same genesis," Zimmerman said. "Theres knowledge, we believe, that these type of concussive injuries were known and protections were not put in place appropriately enough and fast enough and rules changes were not implemented even today in fighting. "Players continue to be at risk and suffer as a result of those risks that they take on behalf of the sport. We think those are unreasonable and they should be changed and the players should be compensated." The lawsuit alleges "the NHL hid or minimized concussion risks from its players, thereby putting them at a substantially higher risk for developing memory loss, depression, cognitive difficulties, and even brain related diseases such as dementia, Alzheimers disease, and Parkinsons disease." One argument that tries to separate the NFL litigation from the NHL case is that by engaging in fighting, players willfully take on the health risks that could come from that. "You could make that argument only to a point," Zimmerman said. "And the point is that the fighting arena would not exist and would be outlawed as it is in every other level of the game had the NHL not condoned it and sold tickets based upon it and promoted the sport in that way. Its not the players that promote the sport in that way because the players dont implement the rules. Its the league that implements the rules. If they would outlaw fighting, there wouldnt be people who would fight." Zimmerman said he thinks more players will join the litigation much in the same way the group of plaintiffs in the NFL case exponentially grew as it progressed. "The light went on for them as the football players story was becoming more told," Zimmerman said. "I think the hockey players started to see that their story was going to be heard and told. Its not that we havent known about football players or hockey players getting hurt. Its now become more important that we talk about it and do something about it rather than just benignly let it continue into the future." And Kyle Lowry, the player who has so often carried them down the stretch, was in the locker-room getting treatment for a sore and swollen knee. But with DeMar DeRozan leading the way, the Raptors showed the resiliency that has become part of their makeup this season en route to a 107-103 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. "Every win is great for us right now for what were trying to do, especially with Kyle out and Amir (Johnson) out," said Raptors coach Dwane Casey. "Hopefully it gives our guys some confidence. . . guys who stepped in, to go where we need to go." Johnson missed all but the first three minutes with an ankle injury. DeRozan poured in 29 points, and was key in the fourth quarter, doling out a couple of assists and uncharacteristically taking a charge. "Those are the winning plays that hes learning to make and hes making now, other than just scoring," Casey said. "Hes doing a great job of scoring but theres so many other things when he plays those kinds of minutes, especially now with Kyle out, hes got to do a lot more." When he somehow cut his finger with just over three minutes to go, he continued to play despite the blood that was smeared across his shorts. "I kind of split the middle of my hand, the webbing of my hand, I didnt even notice," said DeRozan, who estimated he had four or five stitches. "I looked down and my whole hand was soaked." Jonas Valanciunas and Greivis Vasquez added 15 points apiece, and Terrence Ross finished with 14 for the Raptors (43-32). James Harden scored 26 points to top the Rockets (49-25), who were missing Dwight Howard (ankle) for the third consecutive game. Chandler Parsons added 20. Lowry missed the game after a hard knee-on-knee collision with LeBron James in the Raptors 93-83 loss to Miami two nights earlier. His X-rays were negative, so there was no structural damage. Johnson played the first three minutes but headed to the locker-room with a sore right ankle. But despite the absence of not only two of the teams top contributors but arguably its two hardest workers, the Raptors werent going to let this game slip away. With seven games to go, every game is meaningful as the Raptors fight for a favourable opponent in the post-season and homecourt advantage. Vasquez, who started at point guard, said its no surprise that DeRozan and the Raptors stepped up so well in Lowrys absence. "Its not hidden that (DeRozan and Lowry) are our leaders. We go as they go. And everybody else understands that," said Vasquez. "This is why we have a healthy locker-room, were not fighting egos, we know whats going on. Those two guys are going to score, those two guys are going to make winning plays. And whenever one of those guys goes down, weve got their back. Thats what this team is all about. "This is not a fluke. We earn wins, and we earned a win tonight." Houston, which has now dropped seven straight decisions in Toronto, was coming off a 105-96 loss the previous night at Brooklyn, and arrrived in Toronto at 3 a. Justin Faulk Hurricanes Jersey. m. Wednesday. The Raptors led by as much as 20 points in the third against the fourth-place team in the mighty Western Conference. But they allowed the Rockets to pull within 90-80 heading into the fourth and it was during a stretch in the final 12 minutes that the Raptors really felt the absence of Lowry and Johnson. The Rockets pulled within two points with 8:45 to play but that was as close as the visitors would get, and when a wide-open Ross drained a three-pointer with four minutes to play it brought the crowd to its feet and gave Toronto a six-point lead. There were some tense moments as Houston showed some life late. Jeremy Lin drained a three-pointer to cut Torontos lead to three points with nine seconds left, but a free throw by Vasquez sealed the Raptors victory. "We are a team that is desperate for a win right now," Lin said. "Weve dropped three in a row, definitely not a good feeling. We just have to regroup. The one thing I will say is that Im proud of how hard we played but we didnt play great in terms of execution, in terms of coverage and a lot of those little things." As for Lowrys knee injury, Casey said sitting his starting guard wasnt a matter of getting him rest. Wednesdays game was one the coach really wanted to win, so if Lowry could have played, he would have. "Theres a pride factor, you want to win, you want to win a division, you want to win and try and get home court," Casey said. "Were in position, so theres no use of letting off the pedal now. Every game for me is desperate. "But its not live or die or anything like that, were not going to risk a kids health to try to do that." Lowry is averaging 17.4 points, 7.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds. Johnson, whos averaging 10.8 points and 6.8 boards, has long battled bad ankles, but the hardworking forward normally plays through the pain. The fact he left the game is worrisome. The Raptors are tied with Chicago for third in the Eastern Conference and two-and-a-half games ahead of Brooklyn. The good news is Wednesdays game was the Raptors last against a Western Conference opponent. And of the remaining games, Toronto plays last-place Milwaukee twice, and Philadelphia (second-last) once. The Raptors got off to a sloppy start, falling behind by 12 points midway through the first quarter. Toronto ended the quarter with a 12-2 run capped by a three-pointer by Vasquez and trailed 25-23 heading into the second. DeRozan led the way with 15 points in a second quarter that Toronto finish with a 13-4 run, and when the Raptors all-star drilled a 32-footer at the buzzer it sent Toronto into the dressing room with a 55-50 lead. A pair of free throws by Salmons gave the Raptors a 20-point lead -- their biggest of the game -- with just under four minutes to go in the third. But the Rockets finished with an 18-8 run to make it a 10-point game with a quarter to go. NOTES: The Raptors have another tough game Friday when they host the Indiana Pacers. The Raptors are in Milwaukee on Saturday before returning home to face the Sixers and New York Knicks. . . Toronto FC midfielder Dwayne DeRosario was at the game. NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

ROME - Parma has fallen further into last place in Serie A with a one-point penalty for failing to pay players salaries. Mitch Morse Chiefs Jersey .The Italian Football Federation announced the penalty on Tuesday, and also banned Parma president Tommaso Ghirardi and CEO Pietro Leonardi from league activities for two months. The club and the two administrators were also each fined 5,000 euros ($6,000).With only two wins from 14 matches, Parma has just five points, three behind Cesena and six behind Cagliari. On Sunday, Leonardi announced that Ghirardi was in talks to sell the club to a Russian-Cypriot conglomerate. Smoltz joins former teammates Greg Maddux and Tom Glavine, who were inducted in the Hall last summer along with their Atlanta manager, Bobby Cox.Smoltz spent 12 seasons as a starter, winning the 1996 NL Cy Young Award, before 3 1/2 years as the Braves closer. He returned to the rotation, becoming the only pitcher with 200 or more wins and 150 saves, finishing 213-155 with 154 saves. It was a potentially difficult career for Hall of Fame voters to judge.I would argue theres nobody like me to compare, Smoltz said.He was picked on 455 ballots (82.9 per cent). He will be joined at the July 26 induction ceremony in Cooperstown, New York, by Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez and Craig Biggio.Smoltz, Maddux and Glavine led Atlanta to 14 straight post-season appearances from 1991-2005, but only one World Series title in 1995.I was given an opportunity to go 14 straight years, Smoltz said. I dont think anyone else will have the opportunity to do that. Yeah, there was a little part of me that sits there and goes My gosh, we could have won a few more and Why couldnt we get it done? But when I look back, and I started out with three consecutive 100-loss seasons, it was the greatest run in sports. I know the end result is what we get known for ... winning rings, but at least we got one. No doubt we should have had a few more.Maddux is eighth on the career list with 355 wins and Glavine 21st with 305.The three of us share such a unique bond that I dont think anyone feels anyy different than the other person, Smoltz said. Tony Gonzalez Chiefs Jersey. Though I can tell you, Im not in their class when you talk about the numbers they put up. Im probably not in anyones class because of the strangeness of my career and the uniqueness of what I did. It kind of sets me apart a little bit.Smoltz attended last years ceremony and said he resisted the temptation to ask Glavine and Maddux about the process.I didnt want to say anything until this day came, and it has come, he said.Smoltz thrived in the post-season, posting a 15-4 record and 2.67 ERA. He missed the 2000 season while recovering from Tommy John elbow surgery, one of five arm operations, and suggested the shift to the bullpen in 2001. He had 11 saves that year before adding 55 in 2002.In kind of a cruel way, one year of 55 saves kind of undid 14 pretty good years of starting, he said. People started saying, Well, this is what hes always meant to be. This is great. This is going to get him in the Hall of Fame. I was quite perplexed, to say: How can 14 years disappear in one year?Smoltz moved back to the rotation in 2005 for his first of three straight seasons with at least 14 wins. He was 24-8 with a 2.94 ERA in his Cy Young season but said his return to a starting role set the stage for probably my most gratifying years.During a pair of news conferences, he struggled to grasp his accomplishment.I cant even at this point put myself in anyones category, let alone the Hall of Fame, Smoltz said. I think itll hit me when I get there. Im not comfortable with titles, but Im relishing this one and I will for the rest of my life.___Follow Charles Odum on Twitter at www.twitter.com/CharlesOdum NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

LONDON -- As first-round losses go, this one was easier to take for Vasek Pospisil. Nick Martin Texans Jersey . Playing at Wimbledon on his 24th birthday, the Vancouver player saved three match points before falling to Robin Haase 7-6 (8-6), 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 on Monday. Despite his loss, Pospisil was more than satisfied that the back pains which had made his life hell for the past six months have been fixed thanks to a diagnosis by a Prague doctor after months of uncertainty. Pain-free over the last two weeks, Pospisil said he now knows exactly what was bothering him and that the problem has become "completely manageable." Pospisil came to the All England Club after reaching the quarter-finals on grass last week in the Netherlands in his best career performance on the surface. "This was the first match of the year which felt normal," said the player who began to be bothered by his back in Chennai in early January. "Last week was the first week of the season in which I recognized myself on court in terms of competing. "I played quite well last week and today I just had a couple of mistakes and it didnt work out. "But this was definitely a normal match. Now I can focus on what I need to work on. Not playing much probably cost me today. My main goal now is to stay healthy and finally be able to work on improving my game." On the womens side, Aleksandra Wozniak of Blainville, Que., was also eliminated, losing 6-1, 6-2 to Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia. The No. 31 seed was beaten in a battle lasting one hour 38 minutes to leave his Wimbledon main draw record at a 2013 win and two defeats. Pospisil hammered over 21 aces against Haase and produced 58 winners to 44 for his opponent, but he converted on only one of five break points. The Canadian dropped the opening set in a tiebreaker and levelled by winning the second before Haase took the lead two sets to one as he broke in the final game of the third. Haase earned another break for a 3-1 lead in the fourth set but was unable to close it out immediately as Pospisil salvaged three match points in the ninth game. But a cross-court forehand winner gave Haase one more winning chance, which he took when Pospisils volley went low into the net. Pospisil and Haase and split two meetings last season with a win apiece. Pospisil was one of three Canadian men in the singles draw, where eighth seed Milos Ranoic of Thornhill, Ont., heads the effort. Frank Dancevic of Niagara Falls, Ont., earned a lucky loser spot in the 128-man draw. Duane Brown Texans Jersey .ca. And like the near entirety of last season, Jonathan Bernier and Torontos goaltending tandem is up to the task.NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay wont have to appear in court Thursday for an initial hearing on drug-related charges he faces. Irsays attorneys filed a motion Wednesday waiving his appearance on misdemeanour charges of driving while intoxicated and driving with a Schedule I or II controlled substance in his body. Myra Borshoff Cook, a spokeswoman for Irsay, had no immediate comment. The charges against Irsay carry maximum penalties of 60 days in jail and $500 fines for each count. Hamilton County court documents say Irsay was driving under the influence of prescription painkillers. Irsay, 54, was arrested near his home in suburban Carmel on March 16 after police say he was spotted driving slowly, stopping in the roadway and failing to use a turn signal. Police said he failed field sobriety tests and ann officer believed him to be intoxicated, but not on alcohol. Kareem Jackson Texans Jersey. . Various prescription drugs were found in his vehicle. Attorney Steven Stoesz, who often handles similar cases, said waivers are not uncommon in misdemeanour cases where a defendant has bonded out of jail and retained an attorney. "The purpose of an initial hearing is for the court to advise a person of the charges they are facing, of their constitutional rights and to set future court dates," Stoesz told The Indianapolis Star (http://indy.st/1ngp2n. Retaining an attorney essentially lets the court know you are aware of your rights and the charges against you, he said. The next hearing on Irsays case will likely come within 30 days, but Stoesz said that meeting may involve only lawyers and the judge and Irsay may not attend. NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

TORONTO - As Kyle Lowry walked off the podium, on a day in which he cleaned out his locker following a heartbreaking end to his career season, he looked back at the throng of media that had just finished grilling him on his future. Cheap NFL Jerseys China . "Goodbye, everybody," he shouted. What he really meant was, see you later. With the wounds of a Game 7 loss beginning to heal and the dust settling on the season that was, the attention immediately shifted to Lowry, an impending free agent, and whether or not hell be back in a Raptors uniform next fall. Although the star point guard is prohibited from putting pen to paper until the NBAs moratorium period concludes after the first week of July, there is a resounding belief within Torontos locker room that he is planning on sticking around. It was written on the face of his teammate and good friend DeMar DeRozan as the all-star guard deflected question after question regarding Lowrys future with the subtlety of a hand grenade. Will it be difficult to watch Lowry go through the free agency process? "No, no, no," he said Monday afternoon, accompanied by a big smirk. Why not? "Because," he replied, as reporters began to snicker. "No" How would you feel if, for whatever reason, he wasnt back? "Im not worried about that," DeRozan insisted. Do you know something we dont? "I didnt say that. I didnt say he was, I didnt say he wasnt. I just said Im not worried about it." The 24-year-old spends the bulk of his summers working out in Las Vegas. If that was his poker face, its a good thing he rarely strays from the gym. "Why would he leave?" DeRozan asked in the rhetoric a day earlier. A fair question and one Lowry could not find an answer for when pressed shortly after Torontos one-point loss and first-round elimination to the Brooklyn Nets. "Of course I can see myself back," said the Raptors point guard. "We just went to Game 7, first round. Nobody expected us to be there. Of course I can see that." Coming off a breakout campaign in which he averaged career-highs of 17.9 points and 7.4 assists, the 28-year-old will take his time and weigh his options before making a decision, that much he made clear. "At the end of the day, its still a business and you have to be a businessman for the situation that youre in," he said, "but I am very happy. This has been one of the best seasons Ive had, through and through. Best coaches, teammates, [front office]. Its been great. I am happy. Without a doubt, I can say Im happy." While money and the terms of his next deal should play a big part in the negotiation process that will take place in roughly two months, its hard to put a price on happiness. Thats something that any other suitor may have difficulty matching. Finally, in his eighth NBA season, Lowry started to scratch the surface of what many believed had been there all along. Only, it very nearly played out at Torontos expense. "We knew if we lost [after the Rudy Gay trade] it was going to get blown up," Lowry wisely pointed out. "Thats just the fact that, once we made the trade, if we would have lost a little more, I probably wouldnt be sitting here today, just being honest." As it turned out, the Raptors were his perfect storm. For the first time, he was entrusted to lead a team without looking over his shoulder or pretending to be something hes not. He came to training camp with a rejuvenated approach, in the best shape of his playing career. "The most important difference Ive seen in Kyle is his ability to lose weight," said Patrick Patterson - a teammate of Lowrys in Houston - with a straight face, if you can believe it. "When he was in Houston, he was on the heavy side." He and DeRozan formed the leagues second-highest scoring backcourt, only behind the Golden State Warriors "Splash Brothers" of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. "Why wouldnt you want to be on a team with a guy like that?" he said of DeRozan. Most of all, hes grown up. A year ago he stood in the Raptors practice gym, head down, embarrassed after a lost season and promised to be back, better than ever. "[Im] very disappointed for myself because I know Im a much better player than what Ive shown this year," he had said on Apr. 15, 2013. This version of Lowry, sitting at the front end of the ACC media centre, couldnt have been more dissimilar. Hes channeled the very things that used to work to his detriment - his hardheaded, stubborn nature - to become an indispensable player. As a result, he has a greater understanding and appreciation for whats important to him at this stage of his career. First and foremost, his priority is to win. "I want to be happy," Lowry repeated, identifying overall team situation as the primary factor in making his decision. "I want to win, but its something that me and my agent, we have yet to talk about. But I know I want to win, and thats important to me." How does Toronto stack up? "I love this place," he exclaimed. "I love the situation. Its simple as that." No, Lowrys not going anywhere. The Raptors give Lowry his best opportunity to win and Lowry does the same for the Raptors. They need each other. "Kyles like my biggest brother," said sophomore Terrence Ross. "I look up to him, ask for advice on a lot of different things, on and off the court. Hes hands down the best point guard Ive ever played with. Hes taught me a lot. He motivates everybody. I really hope he comes back. I even talk to him all of the time, saying You got to come back, youre basically the heart of the team, we need you to come back." Lowrys response to Ross frequent sales pitches; "He always played it off like weve got to worry about something else right now." Now, Lowry tops the teams offseason agenda. Hes their highest priority and it wont take long after the clock strikes 12:01 AM on July 1 for Masai Ujiri and agent Andy Miller to sit down and finalize an agreement to keep the star point guard in Toronto long term. "We wouldnt have been here if it wasnt for Kyle," DeRozan said. "Kyle is an elite player," added Patterson, "and as far as him staying here, Im sure a lot of people in Toronto would love that. It all depends on him. But definitely if Toronto wants to get better in the future, have someone to build around and be the key, the glue for the basketball team, what better person to start with than Kyle?" With the Blue Jays failure to land Ervin Santana and the continuing spring struggles, to varying degrees, of Esmil Rogers, Todd Redmond and J.A. Happ, Ricky Romeros name is being brought up on an increasing basis. Its getting lumped in with that large group competing for a job in the starting rotation. Manager John Gibbons was effusive about Romeros Wednesday performance, in which the former ace lefthander allowed one run over four innings of work. "All hes got to do is get it in the zone," said Gibbons. "That ball is moving every which way too. Its tough to square him up. If he gets in the zone, he makes them swing, you add that great changeup on top of that, thats where hes had his success. Where he ran into trouble he was just scattering it. He was walking guys, things like that. Hes getting in the zone now and thats the key." Baby steps, though. Romero did walk two batters and hit another. He was the beneficiary of a beautifully turned double play and of an outfield assist on a base hit by Jose Bautista, who threw out a runner at third. If Romero was to land the starting job, at this moment it seems remote, the Jays would likely begin the season with an eight-man bullpen. The fact Romero isnt on the 40-man roster works against him, performance over the last two seasons aside, but he is owed at least $15.6-million over the remaining term on his contract and the Jays would love to get some value for it. Romero has simplified his approach. "Like Ive told Kratz and Thole, the guys who have caught me the last two times, just set up down the middle and stuff will move," he said. "I feel like Im getting that movement back with the changeup and the sinker. There are going to be times when I come out of my delivery a little bit but I think the good thing now is that Im realizing when Im coming out of it. Its just slowing myself back down and my delivery is going to be key, just finding that rhythm." One noticeable difference from last season: when Romero talks about feeling good, feeling confident, his eyes and his body language emit the same. That hasnt been the case. "I definitely feel like its in the right direction and how can you not," said Romero. "Everything Ive been through, this feels good. I think if I do that, just continue to work, work, and see the little wins each and every day and remain positive I think Im going to be just fine. The rest will take care of itself." Its a long road back to being the 15-game winner from 2011 and Romero may never regain his All-Star form. But hes trying. His manager hopes the crisis of confidence is a thing of the past. "Some guys never rebound from it," said manager John Gibbons. "What hes done here this spring, we noticed it, first started noticing it, just warming up in the bullpen, just throwing their sides and in BP, before we even started playing games, he looked different. Were all pulling for him here." McGowan feeling better Dustin McGowan threw two scoreless innings in Thursdays 7-5 loss to the Astros. It was his first game action in 10 days thanks to a stomach bug. It was the same illness that affected Sergio Santos earlier this month. "I lost eight (pounds,) exactly, too," said McGowan. "I think its the eight pound flu or whatever it was. Next time Sergio needs to stay home." After years of battling shoulder problems, McGowan made 25 appearances out of the bullpen last season, posting a 2.45 ERA while striking out, essentially, one hitter per inning pitched. Hes stretching out this spring, longing to be a starter once more. He felt no side effects from his sickness-induced layoff. "I felt good," said McGowan. "For me, thats the most important thing is feeling good. Pitches are starting to come around and location is starting to get better so its a positive outing today for me." McGowan seems to understand the unlikelihood that hell end up in the rotation, admitting "Its hard to say in my head Im going to be a starter but thats where I want to be." Still, hell continue to try to pitch deeper into games. "Ill keep going this path but if Im at four innings by the end of spring, if they want me in the bullpen thats easy to transfer right into," he said. "If you throw one or two, youre ready for it easily." Has he gained the eight pounds back he lost while sick? "You dont see this," joked McGowan, pointing to his stomach. "Ive got it." CLEVELAND -- Anthony Davis isnt worried about making the All-Star team. [url=http://www.hockeyoilersofficial.us/Ryan-Nugent-Hopk

CLEVELAND -- Anthony Davis isnt worried about making the All-Star team. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins Oilers Jersey . He may have nothing to fear. Davis padded his resume by scoring 30 points with eight blocks and seven rebounds and Eric Gordon scored 20, leading the New Orleans Pelicans to a 100-89 win over the puzzling Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday night. Davis, one of three No. 1 overall picks on the floor, was dominant from baseline to baseline as the Pelicans won their third straight. With New Orleans hosting next months All-Star weekend, the Pelicans are hoping their second-year star will be added to the Western Conferences squad when reserves are named Thursday night. "Everybody keeps talking about All-Star, and should he be an All-Star," New Orleans coach Monty Williams said. "All you have to do is look at tonight. Show me other bigs who are doing it on both ends like he does every single night." Davis dislocated his left index finger in the final minutes, but got taped up during a timeout and stayed in. New Orleans scored 16 straight points to close the first half and opened a 22-point lead in the third, causing some fans to boo the listless Cavaliers, who followed a 3-2 trip out West by going 1-4 on their homestand. Clevelands lone win was against Milwaukee, which has the NBAs worst record. "Our competitive spirit is non-existent," said Cavs coach Mike Brown. "Maybe I need to shake some things up." Kyrie Irving scored 23 and Dion Waiters 21 for Cleveland. Rookie Anthony Bennett, the first pick in last years draft, scored a season-high 15 and was the lone bright spot for the Cavs. A major disappointment so far, the 6-foot-8 Canadian added eight rebounds and played 31 minutes -- his most action this season. Davis scored 11 points in the third quarter, when he showed off his well-rounded game. He swished a long jumper, dropped a runner, nailed a bank shot and, of course, dunked. Missing Anderson Varejao, who was out with a hyperextended and bruised left knee, the Cavs had no defensive answer for Davis, who was coming off a 22-point, 19-rebound, seven-block performance in a win over Orlando. As the Pelicans were putting the finishing touches on the win, Davis injured his finger and came to the bench in obvious pain. He bent over as a trainer worked on his fingers and several of Davis teammates patted him on the back as he was treated. "He said, tape it up. Im going right back," Williams said. "That to me says more about him than any number or stat that he can put up. His heart and his willingness to do whatever it takes for his team is why hes an All-Star in my opinion." Davis returned to the floor, but didnt have to do much in the final three minutes as the Pelicans had already wrapped up their 10th road victory. Davis said the All-Star talk is not distracting. "Its cool," Davis said. "I hear it, but Im trying to win games. Im trying to get better each and every day. If it happens, Ill be more than grateful and more than excited to be able to play." The Pelicans outscored the Cavs 16-0 over the final 5:25 of the second quarter to open a 56-44 halftime lead. Gordon had six points during the spurt, which included a possession where all five New Orleans touched the ball before Davis dunked. Cleveland, which scored just six points in the third quarter of a loss to Phoenix on Sunday, missed its last nine shots of the period. The Cavs committed three turnovers in the last four minutes and shot only 5 of 20 from the field. Irving said the Cavs have not tuned out Brown, whose second second stint with Cleveland has not gone well to this point. "As a team, we go through stretches where its ups and downs, thats just part of the game," Irving said. "I leave my trust with coach Brown, Im riding with him. Whatever he says and whatever he needs me to do, Im going to go out there and do. Im pretty sure all of my teammates feel the same way and thats where that rests. Anything he needs us to do, Im willing to do and I know my teammates do as well." Notes: Clevelands Luol Deng scored just six points. Hes been slowed by a sore Achilles. ... The No. 34 banner representing former Cavs guard Austin Carrs retired number was mysteriously missing from its usual place hanging from the arenas rafters. The Cavs are investigating the disappearance. Carr, the No. 1 overall pick in the 1970 draft who played nine seasons for Cleveland, joked, "Maybe Im coming out of retirement." ... It centred around the Los Angeles Clippers and owner Donald Sterling. The NBA is investigating a report of an audio recording in which a man identified as Sterling tells his girlfriend not to bring black people to games. "Guys more than anything are saying, Something has to addressed, something has to be said," said Raptors forward Steve Novak, who spent two seasons (2008-10) with the Clippers. The league said it is in the process of authenticating the validity of the recording posted on TMZs website. In the recording, the man questions his girlfriends association with minorities. TMZ reported the woman, V. Stiviano, who is of black and Mexican descent, posted a picture of herself with Lakers Hall of Famer Magic Johnson on Instagram -- which has since been removed. "Theres definitely not a place for it in the NBA, in this game," Novak said. "What makes it so strange is hes been an NBA owner for that many years (33), hes not someone who isnt associated with African Americans, someone whos benefited that much from African Americans. . . theyve been such a positive part of his life. "Sometimes theres very successful people who arent very good people," Novak added about the American business magnate. The man in the recording asked Stiviano not to broadcast her association with black people or bring black people to games. He specifically mentioned Magic Johnson on the recording, saying "dont bring him to my games, OK?" "I will never go to a Clippers game again as long as Donald Sterling is the owner," Johnson responded on Twitter. He also said the alleged comments are "a black eye for the NBA" and felt bad that friends such as Clippers coach Doc Rivers and point-guard Chris Paul had to work for Sterling. "I dont blame him. I wouldnt either," DeMar DeRozan said of Johnsons decision to boycott games. DeRozan, who grew up in Compton just south of downtown Los Angeles, said he felt for the Clippers players, who lead their Western Conference playoff series against Golden State 2-1. "Honestly, especially right now in the playoffs, theyre trying to win their series so its going to be interesting to see (how the players handle the situation),&quuot; DeRozan said. Benoit Pouliot Oilers Jersey. Landry Fields added: "Right now theyre kind of in a tough position. Theres still playoffs to be played. But it is sad that now this has become an issue rather than Clipper basketball." DeRozan was asked if he could play for an owner like Sterling. "I dont know man, I dont know. I dont know," the all-star said with a shake of his head. "Me personally, I dont stand for nothing like that. It would be tough, itd be tough." Added Raptors coach Dwane Casey: "If its true, its a sad commentary on our society . . . on our society as a whole, being an African American myself." Novak said the allegations are no surprise, players have known about previous discrimination cases against Sterling. He said the NBA must take action. "I think its personal to each and every guy," Novak said. "More than anything I dont think the league can sit back and say it didnt happen, if it did. "Theres no way that should be tolerated. I dont think in any workplace in the world you can speak that way about anybody, and in our league especially." New NBA commissioner Adam Silver said in a press conference before the Grizzlies playoff game in Memphis that the audio is "disturbing and offensive." "All members of the NBA family should be afforded due process and a fair opportunity to present their side of any controversy, which is why Im not yet prepared to discuss any potential sanctions against Donald Sterling," Silver said. "We will, however, move extraordinarily quickly in our investigation." Novak added its a huge black eye to the NBA ownership group. "The owners in the NBA are such an impressive group of people," he said. "Look at all the owners and what theyve done, and all the good things that they do, and so for something like that to come out, to be grouped as an NBA owner type-thing is unfortunate." Sterling has been involved in several lawsuits over the years. Novak played for the Clippers when the owner was sued by the U.S. Department of Justice in 2009. Sterling agreed to pay US$2.73 million to settle allegations by the government that he refused to rent apartments to Hispanics and blacks and to families with children. Sterling is the longest-tenured owner in the NBA since Lakers owner Jerry Buss died last year. NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

The Tampa Bay Lightning and pending unrestricted free agent Ryan Callahan have agreed to a six-year deal. Mario Edwards Jr Jersey . TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun reports that the deal will average $5.8 million a season and also carry a full no-trade clause in the first four years of the deal, and then is a limited no trade clause in the final two years. “Hes proven to be a fierce competitor and outstanding leader who fits very well with our team," said Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman. Callahan was sent to the Lightning from the New York Rangers at the trade deadline on March 5 for Martin St. Louis. “I couldnt be happier to be part of the Tampa Bay Lightning organization for the next six years and I am excited for this new chapter of my career,” Callahan said. “Tampa Bay has been a great place to live and play from the day I got there. As soon as the season ended I knew it was a place I wanted to be.” In 20 games with the Lightning, Callahan amassed six goals and five assists, but was kept off of the scoresheet in the playoffs where the Lightning were swept in the first round by the Montreal Canadiens. BUFFALO, N. Jamie Langenbrunner Jersey .Y. -- Syracuse guard Trevor Cooney was mired in a shooting slump, and his woes coincided with a late-season swoon by the Orange. Say goodbye to both. Cooney scored 18 points, fellow guard Tyler Ennis of Brampton, Ont., had 16, and the Orange defence clamped down in a 77-53 victory over Western Michigan on Thursday in the second round of the NCAA tournament. Cooney hit 4 of 8 from beyond the arc and Ennis had six assists with one turnover to spark the Orange, who shot 28 of 57 (49.1 per cent) from the field and hit 7 of 17 from long range. "It was just good to see one go in," Cooney said. "It adds to your confidence a little bit, and I was able to get into a good rhythm and guys found me in good spots. The ball just went in today." Since matching a school record with nine 3-pointers that keyed a six-point win over Notre Dame last month, Cooney had hit just 10 of 51 (19.6 per cent) from beyond the arc. That abysmal shooting came during Syracuses swoon, which included a three-point loss to North Carolina State in the ACC tournament last week. Thats all forgotten now. "Same guy," Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said. "Hes just got to get his looks and take them. Hes definitely stayed up the whole time. Hes played the other parts of the game. Its a big difference when he makes shots." Syracuse (28-5), the third seed in the South Regional, will play 11th-seeded Dayton (24-10) on Saturday. Dayton beat Ohio State 60-59 on Thursday. The Orange won their first 25 games and were ranked No. 1 for three weeks before losing five of seven in that late-season skid. Western Michigan (23-10), the Mid-American Conference champion, had won 14 of 16 games and was in the NCAA tournament for the first time in a decade. The Orange forced 11 turnovers in the opening half and scored 13 points off them in running out to a double-digit lead before the midpoint of the period. Syracuse used an 18-4 spurt over 10 minutes to take control and led 40-21 at halftime. The Broncos took care of the ball in the second half, losing it only twice, but the deficit was much too daunting to overcome as Syracuse dominated the glass 41-25 and scored 15 second-chance points. "We ran into a buzz saw today," WMU coach Steve Hawkins said. "We made too many mistakes in the first half. We had 11 turnovers in the first half and thats what staked them out to that lead. I felt like after we started taking care of the ball in the second half, we got a few better looks." Jerami Grant finished with 16 points, while C.J. Fair, double- and triple-teamed nearly every time he touched the ball, finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Shayne Whittington and Tucker Haymond led Western Michigan with 11 points apiece. David Brown, the MAC scoring champion, finished with a season-low nine points on 2-of-12 shooting, 2 of 10 from long range. Syracuse rode its defence to the Final Four a year ago and the zone was stellar from the opening tip against the Broncos. The Broncos split two games with Eastern Michigan during the season, learning the nuances of the zone defence employed by Eagles coach Rob Murphy, an assistant at Syracuse for eight years before taking over at EMU. "We hope its a help," Hawkins said. It wasnt. Same system, maybe, but different personnel. "Theyre long and athletic, and they make you second-guess where you want to throw the ball," Brown said. "I feel that we were hesitant. We turned the ball over way too much." The Syracuse defence had to focus on WMUs fifth-year seniors Whittington and Brown and did the job. Whittington was hounded in the lane, unable to generate much, taking just seven shots. And while Brown was his usual self at the free throw line, he had only four chances, hitting three. "We came out playing pressure defence," Fair said. "We werent going to let them get comfortable." They didnt. The Broncos committed four quick turnovers as Syracuse took a 7-2 lead on a 3-pointer by Cooney just over 3 minutes in. Brown led the MAC at 19.4 points per game and earned MVP of the conference tournament after scoring a career-high 32 points that included five 3-pointers in the final against Toledo, and he makes a good living at the free throw line. Brown was 196 of 254 (77.2 per cent) from the line, most of the fouls coming while he was attempting one of the 237 shots he took from behind the arc. He found no room to roam against the Orange, missing three times from well beyond the 3-point line before finally hitting near the midpoint of the opening half. Whittington is a hulking figure in the lane at 6-foot-11 and 250 pounds, but Grant easily spun around him and slammed home a ferocious two-handed dunk to boost the Syracuse lead to 12-4. Cooneys second 3 and a layup by Ennis had the Broncos 13 points behind and reeling. Fairs three-point play and a 3-pointer from the wing by Ennis off a feed from Grant inside gave Syracuse a 31-13 lead with 4:08 to go in the half. Whittington shook off a foul by Grant and hit a pretty hook in the lane that he turned into a three-point play and Brown followed with two free throws and his first 3 to give the Broncos a glimmer of hope. Syracuse responded with a slam dunk by senior centre Baye Moussa Keita, another 3 from Cooney, and a putback by Fair off a miss by Ennis to gain the 19-point halftime lead. If the Broncos hoped to make a comeback in the second half, that idea was quickly squashed. After a layup by Connar Tava -- Grant was called for goaltending on the play -- and a free throw by Haymond closed the gap to 16 points, Syracuse responded with an 8-2 spurt that Cooney started with a four-point play. McDonagh put the puck past backup goalie Thomas Greiss, who relieved injured starter Mike Smith in the third period and then gave up the tying and winning goals. Girardi got the Rangers even with 3:26 left in regulation when he tipped in a drive by his defence partner McDonagh. Brad Richards and Derick Brassard scored in the second period when New York erased a 2-0 deficit Phoenix built in the first. Henrik Lundqvist made 18 saves to win on a night he was honoured for recently breaking Rangers marks for career victories and shutouts. The Rangers fourth straight win pushed them one point ahead of Philadelphia and into second place in the Metropolitan Division with nine games left. Philadelphia, which has two games in hand on the Rangers, will meet them in New York on Wednesday. Kyle Chipchura had a rare goal and assist, and defenceman Oilver Ekman-Larsson and Jeff Halpern also scored for the Coyotes, who hold the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Chipchura, who entered with only two goals and 11 assists in 69 games, helped set up Halperns goal and then was credited with the go-ahead tally when Rangers forward Chris Kreider knocked the puck into his own net. Smith stopped 25 shots while making his 12th consecutive start, but was forced to leave with 7:34 left in regulation after he injured his right leg when Brassard was pushed into him by Coyotes defenceman Derek Morris. Greiss came on for his first action since Feb. 28 and stopped seven of nine shots. The Rangers needed two big rallies to keep their winning streak alive. After being ushered off the ice by a chorus of boos following a poor first, the Rangers got Maddison Square Garden rocking in the second, but Phoenix went back in front before the second intermission. St. Louis Cardinals Bob Gibson Jersey. . Richards cut the Coyotes lead in half at 6:10 when a drive by Carl Hagelin found its way through traffic, hit him, and bounded between Smiths pads for Richards 17th goal and first in 11 games. The Rangers tied it with 9:07 left off hard work by Brassard. Brassard bumped with Chipchura in the neutral zone to get the puck into the Phoenix end, and then netted his 17th. Brassards pass attempt in front bounced back to him in the right circle, and he sent a rising shot into the top right corner to make it 2-2. The Rangers were nowhere near the top of their game at the start, and they paid for it. Just 29 seconds after Rick Nash was sent off for tripping, Ekman-Larsson scored his 13th of the season with a stick-bending wrist shot from the right circle at 4:40. Smith, who stopped 10 shots in the first period, earned his third assist of the season. Lundqvist kept Phoenix at bay for a bit, but he was hung out to dry by his teammates when Halpern made it 2-0 on the Coyotes fifth shot. Chipchura made a backhanded pass from below the goal line in front to a wide-open Halpern for a quick shot past Lundqvist at 8:22 for his fifth goal. It appeared the Rangers would be no worse than tied going into the third, but Kreider deflected an attempted centring pass by Chipchura from the left-wing boards between Lundqvists legs to make it 3-2 with 1:09 left in the second. Lundqvist angrily swept the puck out of the net as Chipchura celebrated his third goal of the season and first in 57 games, dating to Oct. 29 vs. Los Angeles. BOISE, Idaho -- With his fifth-ranked team trailing by two points in the final seconds, San Diego State coach Steve Fisher was all but certain senior point guard Xavier Thames was going to take the final shot for the Aztecs on Wednesday night. Bill Ranford Jersey . But Thames surprised his coach -- and most of the 9,602 in attendance -- when he whipped a pass to Dwayne Polee II, who drained a three-pointer with four seconds left to give the Aztecs an improbable come-from-behind 67-65 victory that extended their winning streak to 19 games. "It was like the Red Sea parted," Polee said. "I wasnt surprised. X is a real unselfish player, and if there was one person open, he was going to find them." Thames finished with 23 points for San Diego State (20-1, 9-0 Mountain West), but it was his steal at midcourt in the final minute and his second assist of the game that saved the Aztecs, who trailed by 14 points in the second half. "What can you say about Xavier Thames?" Fisher asked. "You cant tell me that hes not playing as well as anyone in America right now." Thames said he was very close to taking a shot that would have tied the score. But at the very last second, he changed his mind. "I had a pretty decent look, but I saw DP out of the corner of my eye," Thames said. "I was going to shoot a floater but (Ryan) Watkins was going to contest it. Then I saw (Anthony) Drmic sink down. It was on the tip of my fingers (to shoot). It was pretty close." Close is the typical result when the Aztecs and Broncos (15-8, 5-5) play. The past six meetings between the schools have been decided by six or fewer points. San Diego State eliminated Boise State from the past two conference tournaments and won 69-66 last month in San Diego. "Theyre a good matchup for us, and were a good matchup for them," Thames said. "We know were always going to get a great game for them." Mikey Thompson led the Broncos with 16 points and Thomas Bropleh and Derrick Marks both added 15. "I just feel awful for these guys right now," Boise State coach Leon Rice said. "They are giving everything they have. We just havent finished." Boise State led the final 18 minutes of the first half and the first 15 of the second before a scoring drought allowed the Aztecs to rally. After Bropleh banked in a three-pointer to give the Broncos a 57-43 lead with 13:37 to play, Boise State only made one field goal in the next 11 minutes and the lead disappeared when Thames scored his seventh consecutive point to give his team a 61-59 lead with four minutes to play. Boise State finally got on track, getting two free throws and a layup from Thompson and a basket from Marks to retake the lead at 65-62. Thames made a steal in the final minute and hit two free throws after being fouled, and after Marks missed a jumper, the Aztecs were in position for the biggest play of the game. "That was a tough, gutty character-type game for us," Fisher said. "We stayed with it and found a way to win." Thames said there was some motivation to keep the winning streak going. With its meteoric rise to No. 5 in the poll, the Aztecs expect to get every teams best shot the rest of the way. "We talked at halftime about that," he said. "We said, You know they are going to rush the court if they win. We didnt want that to happen." Josh Davis had 10 points for San Diego State, which won despite turning the ball over 15 times and allowing Boise State to shoot 51 per cent from the field and make eight three-pointers. "They just kept hitting shot after shot," said Polee, who finished with nine points and was 1 for 1 on three-point attempts. "Everything they threw up was going in. We just had to buckle up." New York, NY (SportsNetwork. Bryan Trottier Islanders Jersey .com) - Kevin Klein scored the winning goal with 1:15 to play in overtime as the New York Rangers nabbed a 4-3 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday. In the extra session, Klein wound up with the puck in the high slot and cranked a shot that went through a screen and past Marc-Andre Fleury for the win. J.T. Miller, Kevin Hayes and Rick Nash all scored for the Rangers, who snapped a two-game slide. Henrik Lundqvist stopped 32 shots in the win. Nick Spaling and Steve Downie each posted a goal and an assist for the Penguins, who have lost two of three. Fleury stopped 25 shots in the loss. The only goal of the first period went to Pittsburgh as Sidney Crosby skated down the right wing and lost control, but the puck went to the left circle and Spaling blasted it in over the glove of Fleury at 12:35. New York tied the game 3:50 into the second after Martin St. Louis sent a short pass from the right wing to the slot where Miller snapped it in. It was a 2-1 lead for New York five minutes later as Nash skated in on a short break and backhanded it in. The Rangers took a 3-1 lead at 12:58 of the third off a 2-on-1 break that saw Hayes stuff in his own rebound. Evgeni Malkin, though, made it a one-goal game at 15:17 when he jammed it in from in front, and the Pens tied the game 24 seconds later as a broken play was chipped in by Downie. And thats cool with him. "Im a rookie," Manziel said. "I need to earn my place. I need to earn my keep. Nothing here needs to be handed to me. I dont need to be treated based off what I did in the past, because that doesnt mean a thing at this level." The former Texas A&M quarterback, who oozes swagger every moment hes on the field, is participating in Clevelands rookie minicamp this weekend along with its other draft picks and unsigned free agents. Browns first-year coach Mike Pettine restricted access to Saturdays workout, which was held inside because of rainy weather, to local media members. Sundays practice is closed. Pettine was on the Jets coaching staff when popular quarterback Tim Tebow joined the team and wants to control "Manzielmania" as best he can. "Were well aware of the persona. Were well aware of what it brings," Pettine said. "Were excited about it. Its something that were very willing to have come here, knowing that he has a chance to make us a better football team and a better franchise." Pettine added that he knows the decision to limit access will "ruffle some feathers." "Ill apologize in advance for that, but what were tasked as a staff to do is do whats best for the football team," he said. Wearing a red No. 2 jersey, Manziel stretched with his teammates as Jay-Zs "Public Service Announcement" boomed through the speakers in the field house. With Browns owner Jimmy Haslam on the sideline, Manziel made a few handoffs and threw three short passes before the session was closed after 15 minutes. Manziel later answered questions for 10 minutes before the interview was stopped by a member of the teams media relations staff. Manziel tried to clear up one story about how he wound up with the Browns, whose long-suffering fans hope his arrival can turn around their woeful franchise. On Thursday, quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains revealed during a radio interview that Manziel sent him a text message during last weeks draft, urging the team to pick him. Loggains claimed the text read: "Hurry up and draft me because I want to wreck this league together." Manziel confirmed he exchanged texts with Loggains, but said the one in which he claimed he would "wreck this league" may have been exaggerated. "I dont know if thats exactly word for word," he said. "It was something along those lines." He explained he didnt mean he was going to dominate as a rookie, just that he wanted to help the Browns win games. "Whenever it is I get a chance to play, I dont want to come in and be mediocre," he said. As for his desire to join the Browns, Manziel said that was true. "This was a place I felt comfortable with," he said. "I liked the situation here and I wanted to come here, and if they wanted to take me and were trying to get me earlier, I said, Lets do it. I dont know what kind of influence that had or what exactly that did." Pettine told Manziel that if he wants to start hes going to have to beat out Brian Hoyer, who made three starts last year before a knee injury ended his season. Manziel said he understands hes nothing special -- not yet. "I was completely OK with hearing that from everybody," he said. "I dont want to come in and have anything handed to me that I dont deserve." Manziel was humbled long before the Browns took him. "I got passed up 21 times, so that says something," he said. As for meshing with his new teammates, Manziel is fitting right in. Offensive lineman Joe Bitonio, a second-round pick, said there was a moment of awe when he walked into the locker room and realized his locker was next to Manziels. "At first I was like, Man, thats Johnny Manziel," Bitonio said. "And then once you get to know him, hes a normal guy." On the field, Manziel has already made an impression. "Amazing," running back Terrance West said. "Hes Manziel, right? Everybody knows Johnny Manziel. He makes plays. He makes big plays. Hes a great player." But right now, hes only Johnny Rookie. MEMPHIS, Tenn. Jeff Skinner Jersey . -- Kevin Durant insisted the Thunder facing elimination was all the motivation he needed. Thanks to the NBAs best scorer, the Thunder remain alive and can finish off the Memphis Grizzlies back in Oklahoma City. Durant scored 36 points to break out of a slump, and the Thunder routed the Grizzlies 104-84 on Thursday night to force a deciding seventh game in the first-round Western Conference series. His performance came on a day where the hometown newspaper questioned his struggles with a headline calling him "Mr. Unreliable." "We needed to win this game," Durant said. "Thats more motivation than anything, so our team responded. Weve got to do an even better job in Game 7." Russell Westbrook added 25 points for the Thunder, who havent been eliminated in the first round of the playoffs since 2010. They took control early with Durant scoring 14 points in the first quarter, led by 15 at halftime and never let Memphis get that close again in the second half in the first game in the series that didnt go to overtime since the opener. "You dont get to his level as an NBA player and a great player as he is to have other people motivate you," Thunder coach Scott Brooks said. "Hes self-motivated. Hes a tremendous kid and does everything for his team, for our organization. Were proud of him because he gives everything he has. That was the only focus for tonights game." Durant also had 10 rebounds and made 14 of 15 free throws. Reggie Jackson had 16 points off the bench for the Thunder, who will host Game 7 on Saturday night. Grizzlies guard Tony Allen said the Thunder simply wanted the game more and called the loss embarrassing in front of a sellout crowd. "Now, weve shot ourselves in the foot, and we have to go to a hostile environment now and pretty much show where our heart is at," Allen said. Marc Gasol had 17 points and Zach Randolph 16 for Memphis. Guard Mike Conley strained his right hamstring, briefly returned and left for good with 8:48 left. Conley went down in the third quarter near midcourt dribbling when Kendrick Perkins reached in for a steal. The Memphis guard returned briefly, but Conley was limping noticeably. With the Thunder in control, Conley went to the locker room again and didnt return. Nick Calathes currently is suspended for violating the NBAs anti-drug policy, leaving Memphis with only Beno Udrih at point guard. Memphis coach Dave Joerger said Udrih will play a lot of minutes if Conley cant. Conley said he will be re-evaluated Friday and receive as much treatment as possible before tipoff Saturday. "I plan on playing," Conley said. Durant had to answer questions after the shootaround Thursday about that headline in The Oklahoman newspaper. Durant said he had no problem with the headline and that he just needed to hit shots and be more aggressive. Smiling just before tipoff, Durant did just that. The man who led the NBA scoring 32 points a game during the regular season opened by hitting five of his first seven and finished 11 of 23 from the floor. He continued to struggle outside the arc where he missed all six of his attempts. The Grizzlies had a chance to advance to their third semifinal in four years on their own floor. Yet they couldnt shoot well or match the Thunders intensity with a sloppy performance in front of a sellout crowd that tried to energize the Grizzlies. Oklahoma City outrebounded Memphis 47-36 and easily outshot them 49.3 per cent (37 of 75) to 37.3 per cent (31 of 83). "We knew sooner or later our shots would fall," Brooks said. Brooks also benched Thabo Sefolosha and started Caron Butler. "This is why you play the game to prove doubters wrong, and adversity builds character," Butler said. "This team has a strong character and a will." Memphis last led 6-4. A team that thrives off defence, the Grizzlies couldnt knock down shots even when they managed to get consecutive stops. The Grizzlies got to 42-37 with 3:08 left on a steal and fast-break layup by Conley. The Thunder finished the half with a 14-4 run for a 56-41 lead. The Grizzlies missed their first six shots to open the third quarter, finishing any hopes of a comeback. James Johnson scored 15 points off the bench for Memphis, and Allen added 13. Notes: This will be the second Game 7 between the teams in four years. Oklahoma City beat Memphis in seven in the 2011 conference semifinals. ... The Grizzlies are 4-1 with a chance to close out a series. ... Steven Adams blocked a career-high five shots off the bench for the Thunder. INDIANAPOLIS -- The Eastern Conference became a lot more interesting after Derrick Roses successful return to the Chicago Bulls. The former MVP scored 13 points in 20 minutes in an 82-76 exhibition victory over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. "Same old Derrick Rose," Pacers coach Frank Vogel said. "He looked great." Rose led the Bulls to the No. 1 seed in the East two seasons ago before he tore his left ACL during the playoffs, then missed all of last season while recovering. He said he had some nerves Saturday that quickly went away. "I felt great," Rose said. "I felt normal, I felt the way Ive been playing in practice. Im just trying to get my timing back." He was at his lightning-fast best against the Pacers in the preseason opener for both teams, breaking away for several layups and converting a steal and dunk in the third quarter. He appeared unafraid of contact, constantly challenging Indianas large front line. "Thats the way he played before the injury, and hes back to playing like that," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said. "And for him, thats his game. The speed, the quickness, the power to go along with it -- thats what makes him so special and unique. Theres no one like him." Rose misconnected with his teammates several times and committed four turnovers. Rose said he was going too fast, and his coach agreed. "The speed at which he plays, youve got to get accustomed to," Thibodeau said. "His teammates have to get used to it again, and he has to get used to it, but overall, I thought he played very, very well." Indianas Danny Granger also returned after missing most of last season with a left knee injury. He finished with six points on 2-for-10 shooting in 29 minutes. "He was a little rusty, and I wouldnt expect anything but that," Vogel said. "His game condition is in the final part of his recovery." Taj Gibson had 18 points and 12 rebounds, Luol Deng scored 15 points and Jimmy Butler added 11 for the Bulls. Paul George and David West each scored 14 points and Roy Hibbert added 11 points and nine rebounds for the Pacers. Rose sat on the bench praying in the moments before the opening tip. A large contingent of Bulls fans made the short trip, and they cheered loudly the first time he touched the ball. On his first shot attempt, he challenged the 7-foot-2, 290-pound Hibbert. Rose missed, but got the offensive rebound and scored. "They hit me in practice," Rose said. "Im used to getting hiit now. Cam Ward Hurricanes Jersey. Falling, slipping -- I got that out the way." At 7:17 in the first quarter, Rose stepped in to try and take a charge from Lance Stephenson, but he was called for a block. He played the first 7:02 and went 1 for 4 from the field with an assist. Rose sat on the baseline and rolled a softball under the back of the previously injured knee while he was out of the game. He returned with 8:31 remaining in the second quarter. He showed some of his speed with a breakaway layup with 7:45 left in the second quarter, though it might have been a dunk in his pre-injury days. Later, after a steal, Rose came up stretching his right leg out. Then, it happened. Carlos Boozer snagged a rebound and swung the ball out to Rose, who ran the length of the floor in seemingly no time, scored an up-and-under layup and was fouled. He made the free throw to give the Bulls a 34-31 lead with 4:32 left in the first half. Rose scored another fast-break layup less than a minute later, then hit Deng with a perfect setup for a 3-pointer to push Chicagos lead to 39-33. Rose took a hard foul from Hibbert with 1:34 left in the first half, but quickly got up and walked away, maintaining the calm demeanour he was known for before his injury. He made both free throws to give Chicago a 41-36 lead. Rose had 11 points on 4-for-10 shooting in the first half. He had four turnovers in the second quarter. Early in the third quarter, Rose stole the ball and finished with his first dunk, a two-handed jam. He sat for good with Chicago holding a 50-49 lead, and Indiana immediately went on a 9-0 run to take a 58-50 lead and force a Chicago timeout. Granger played in five games last season. He has a career average of 18.1 points and was an All-Star in 2009 who averaged 25.7 points per game that season. In his absence, George emerged as an All-Star and recently signed a lucrative contract. Granger entered the game with 6:02 left in the first quarter. He made his first basket, a 3-pointer, with 10:54 left in the second quarter. "It was a good first step," Granger said. "My second wind didnt kick in during the first half like it usually does, but it was good to get that under my belt." Notes: Rose turned 25 on Friday. ... Bulls C Joakim Noah missed the game with a right groin strain. ... Granger doesnt practice more than two days in a row and only participates in one practice during two-a-days. ... Jose Mourinho described Manchester United as the unluckiest team in the Premier League after their 1-1 draw with Arsenal, but do the stats back him up? Juan Matas second-half goal appeared to be sending United to a well-deserved victory at Old Trafford on Saturday, only for Olivier Giroud to pull Arsenal level with their only shot on target. Tyson Jackson Falcons Jersey .It was a bitter blow for United, who dominated the game for long periods, and it prompted Mourinho to rue his sides misfortune. I am really happy with the team, but at the moment I consider us the unluckiest team in the Premier League because it is the reality, he told Sky Sports. If you analyse the last three matches. Against Stoke we have to win 5-0 or 6-0 and we draw. Against Burnley we have to win 5-0 or 6-0 and we draw and today we have to win 2-0 or 3-0 and we draw.So does Mourinho have a point? Or is he making excuses? From key decisions to hitting the woodwork, we examine the evidence…Refereeing decisionsMourinho rarely bites his tongue when it comes to decisions going against his side and this season there have been a number of flashpoints. The United boss was angered by two decisions during the Manchester derby defeat to City back in September. Claudio Bravo challenges Wayne Rooney during the Manchester derby First, there was Claudio Bravos lunge on Wayne Rooney, then an Antonio Valencia cross struck Nicolas Otamendi on the elbow. Mourinho criticised Mark Clattenburg for failing to award penalties in both cases. Former referee Dermot Gallagher agreed with Mourinho about the Bravo incident in his weekly column for Sky Sports, but he felt Clattenburg was right to overlook the Otamendi incident. In Uniteds following game against Watford, they conceded the opening goal after Anthony Martial was robustly dispossessed by Miguel Britos. Mourinho described the decision to let play continue as ridiculous, while Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville said the Watford defender had kicked through his left leg to get the ball. PL contenders highs and lows We examine each of the title contenders highs and lows so far this season. Clattenburg enraged Mourinho again when he didnt award United a penalty after Matteo Darmian went down following a clash with Jon Flanagan in their 0-0 draw with Burnley last month. Mourinho was handed a one-game ban for his furious reaction, but replays showed the contact was minimal. Nacho Monreal tangled with Antonio Valencia in Saturdays game There was another penalty incident against Arsenal, with Valencia going to ground after Nacho Monreal raised an arm across his body. Mourinho chose not to criticise Andre Marriner over the incident, but it was a decision which could have gone either way. Man Utd 1-1 Arsenal While Manchester City, Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool have all been awarded at least four penalties this season, United have only had one. But while there have been a number of decisions to irk Mourinho, they have not all been quite as clear-cut as he might tell you. And on the other hand, they have only had one penalty awarded against them. Penalties won and conceded - Premier League 2016/17 Team Penalties won Team Penalties conceded Manchester City 5 Hull 6 Arsenal 4 Southampton 4 Liverpool 4 West Ham 4 Tottenham 4 Arsenal 3 Crystal Palace 3 Bournemouth 3 Leicester 3 Everton 3 Sunderland 3 Swansea 3 - - - - Manchester Utd 1 Manchester Utd 1 Injury count? One area in which United have undoubtedly been unfortunate is injuries. Defensive issues forced Mourinho to field a makeshift back four against Arsenal on Saturday, and it was not the first time this season that his options have been depleted. Manchester United have lost Eric Bailly to injury this season In fact, according to PhysioRoom.com, United have racked up the second-highest total of injuries this season with 27. Only relegation battlers Sunderland have suffered more (30). Most injuries - Premier League 2016/17 Team Injuries Sunderland 30 Manchester United 27 Liverpool 24 Tottenham 22 Leicester 21 Manchester City 20 Arsenal 19 Crystal Palace 19 Southampton 19 Watford 19 West Ham 19 Goalkeeping heroics?Manchester Uniteds shot conversion rate of 11.6 per cent is the fifth-lowest in the Premier League. Its partly down to wasteful finishing, but they have also had the misfortune of facing goalkeepers in the form of their lives. Tom Heaton pulled off a string of impressive saves against Manchester United Stoke shot-stopper Lee Grant rescued the Potters with eight saves in their 1-1 draw at Old Trafford, while Tom Heatons performance in the 0-0 draw with Burnley was even better. The 30-year-old made 11 saves in total, including one described as one of the best in Premier League history by Peter Schmeichel. Bad luck or bad finishing? Manchester United have had 74 shots to their opponents 19 in the last three Premier League games at Old Trafford, yet the aggregate score is 2-2. In total, opposition goalkeepers have made 49 saves against Manchester United this season, a far higher total than the Premier League average of 34. Its not just a question of bad luck, but its certainly been a factor.Hitting the woodworkFootball is a game of fine margins and there are few things more frustrating than seeing your sides shots come back off the woodwork. United have rattled the frame of the goal five times in total - including twice each in their draws with Stoke and Burnley. You could call it bad luck, but its nothing compared to Bournemouth, who have been denied by the woodwork 13 times in total. In fact, six Premier League sides have hit the woodwork more times than United. Most times hit woodwork - Premier League 2016/17 Team Hit woodwork Bournemouth 13 Arsenal 7 Manchester City 7 Tottenham 7 Liverpool 6 Stoke 6 Manchester United 5 Southampton 5 Late goals?Girouds equaliser on Saturday was the fourth time United have conceded in the 80th minute or later this season, putting them comfortably above the Premier League average of 2.5 late goals per side.It happened twice in Uniteds 3-1 defeat to Watford back in September and it also happened with Joe Allens late leveller for Stoke last month. Add Girouds equaliser and United would be five points better off had they managed to hold on in those games. But while Mourinho might call it bad luck, it also raises questions over complacency. Olivier Girouds equaliser was the fourth late goal Manchester United have conceded in the Premier League this season So while the evidence suggests United have indeed had their share of bad luck, particularly with injuries and goalkeeping heroics, there are clearly numerous other factors at play.Mourinho will be hoping things fall into place in the weeks ahead, but United are not the only side to have been hit by misfortune, and their prospects of turning things around are dependent on more than just a change of luck.Upgrade to Sky Sports now and get 12 months half price. And doesnt it seem that the Hamilton Tiger-Cats are getting better and better? Those were the two questions I was thinking about while leaving Studio 6 and heading home after Friday Night Football - Hamiltons most recent win and Winnipegs most recent loss. For the Bombers it has been a combination of things coming together at the most inappropriate moments in time. Quarterback, injuries, Canadian talent or depth and leadership are all issues. Trust me when I say being a Bomber is no fun right now in a city that embraces football the way Winnipeg does. While Buck Pierce will be getting another shot, I think Max Hall does deserve another opportunity. His negative plays came at a point in the game that he had to "press" to make plays. But playing the same team again could be beneficial to him and help him get into the flow quicker and gain confidence. His receivers have to step up and catch everything and the defensive backs for Winnipeg must use better technique as there are way too many pass interference penalties. In the big picture, there is something wrong with the scouting system in Winnipeg. Five quarterbacks in 18 months of football and not one is close to dominant. Hamilton has two, Burris and LeFevour, Saskatchewan has two, Durant and Willy, Calgary has three, BC two, Toronto has Ray and Collaros and even Edmonton with Mike Reilly as No. 1 is going to continue to improve. Because with all the quarterbacks in North America, why cant the Bombers find one? Legitimate question. With Hamilton, they are getting there. C.J. Gable and Chevon Walker are being used very intelligently by Kent Austin. Greg Ellingson as a receiver is an immense surprise. But No. 1 to me is the edges of protection for Henry Burris. Brian Simmons, U of 0klahoma. Great feet and technically sound with consistency of performance. Joel Figueroa, U of Miami. More of a mauler as a player but good and getting better. They still do miss Chris Williams and his returns with speed. Speaking of speed on Saturday maybe there was too much of it. I was pretty must astonished when it came to the two games and injuries. Honestly, not much you can do. I dont remember any of the impact hits being dirty or illegal. Just brutal. And for Calvillo it has to be concerning. In 2010 he had a sternum injury that caused him breathing issues. In 2011 it was a Marcus Howard hit that I thoughht Calvillo would not recover from, remember that one? Last year a shoulder issue affected his play. Tevin Coleman Falcons Jersey. And now a shot to the head that took him out of the game. Anthony Calvillo is respected by everyone for that rare combination of ability, courage and class being at such extremely high levels. If he were to retire I would almost be relieved. He wont though. The Riders were fortunate to beat Montreal and now play Edmonton next. For a team at 6-1 they need to improve all of a sudden. In BC, the uniform switch was magnificent. Looked good, played good, all good. Some of the players had an extra look of intimidation around them, almost an aura. My compliments to the Lions on an exceptional marketing move which was perfectly executed. All in football noticed and I hope it creates a solid revenue stream for the organization. And they won too! There was Sunday night football to end Week 8, Edmonton at Toronto from the Rogers Centre and both quarterbacks put on a show. I guess we almost expect it from Ricky Ray but still to go 30-of-35 is an astonishing level of efficiency. It was brought to my attention that some of the throws were not that difficult in length and congestion but my response would be, well then why dont other quarterbacks have that type of completion percentage? The answer is because they cant do it as well as Ray can. With Edmonton at 1-6 I realize any positive comment may sound ridiculous but Mike Reilly is getting better and better. Hes more confident and completing more passes for greater distance. Actually it has been fun to watch, enjoyable to see an athlete improve as a season is moving forward. I hope Eskimo fans dont lose patience with the Kavis Reed regime. I do think he is the right man at the right time with the right people. In an eight-team league there is a greater "grace period" to get it together because the playoffs are almost always possible come October. It just becomes disheartening when the team you follow does not have winning success yet sometimes look good while losing. Tough three games for Edmonton also with the Roughriders and then back-to-back with the Stampeders. Week 8 is done moving into Week 9, almost mid-season. Teams know what their strengths and weaknesses are, and now have to maintain their strength, improve the weakness and ask the Gods of football if their team can stay healthy for three more months. ATLANTA -- Freddie Freeman insists the Atlanta Braves have no special insight when playing the Washington Nationals. Jamie Benn Jersey . "I dont know if its about getting in their heads," Freeman said. "You just want to go out there and win series. It doesnt matter who its against." Freeman and Justin Upton each hit a two-run homer off Gio Gonzalez and the Braves completed a three-game sweep of the Nationals with a 10-2 victory on Sunday. Beating Washington for the 18th time in the last 25 series matchups, Atlanta is hoping to use another fast start against the Nationals to win a second straight NL East title. The Braves have won five of six against the Nationals this year. "We have a 19-game stretch against division opponents," Freeman said. "This is where you can get off to a good start and get off to a good lead and hopefully well keep playing well when we get to" Philadelphia to begin a four-game series Monday. Washington began the day by placing third baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the 15-day disabled list with a broken right thumb. Hell be out four to six weeks. With Zimmerman and leadoff hitter Denard Span sidelined, the Nationals lineup managed just five hits off Aaron Harang (2-1), who allowed one run, one walk and struck out five in six innings. Gonzalez (2-1) continued his struggles against the Braves, giving up nine hits, six runs and four walks and striking out six in six innings. Despite ranking second in the majors among left-handers with 34 wins since the start of 2012, Gonzalez is 2-7 with a 5.31 ERA in 10 starts against the Braves during that span. He hasnt received more than one run of support in any of his seven winless starts against Atlanta. "We were catching bad breaks," Gonzalez said. "We were making some big mistakes, and as a starting pitcher youve got to learn to adjust and keep the ball down." Harang, making his 322nd career start and third with the Braves, improved to 2-4 with a 3.72 ERA in 10 starts against Washington. Gus Schlosser, Atlantas fourth pitcher, gave up Adam LaRoches third homer in the ninth to make it 10-2. Ross Detwiler, Washingtons second pitcher, allowed four unearned runs in the eighth on Freemans RBI double and Andrelton Simmons first homer, a three-run shot that put the Braves up 10-1. Gonzalezs struggles began in the first. After walking leadoff hitter Jason Heyward, Gonzalez made an errant underhanded throw to first baseman LaRoche on B.J. Uptons bunt single. The ball rolled away from LaRoche, allowing Heyward to advance to third and B.J. Upton to second. Freemans sacrifice fly scored Heyward, and Justin Upton homered to make it 3-0. Over his last six games, Justin Upton is hitting .590 with four homers in 22 at-bats. "We know what were capable of and what we want to achieve," Justin Upton said. "If everybody can contribute every day, I think well be fine." Atlanta added three more runs in the second. Tyler Pastornicky led off with a triple and scored on Heywards RBI double. Freeman followed with his fourth homer to give the Braves a 6-0 lead. Washingtons first run came on Jose Lobatons RBI groundout, scoring Kevin Frandsen from third to make it 6-1 in the fifth. Freeman, who has hit .470 in his last 34 at-bats, avoided a scare in the fourth when Gonzalezs 92 mph fastball hit the outer right side of his right hand. Like the rest of the day, everything seemed to go Atlantas way. "It pinched my pinkie into the bat," Freeman said. "It was more a scare than an injury. I got really lucky. I think if I didnt choke up, Im done. By choking up, it got some fat right there. I kind of lucked out, I think." NOTES: Washington RF Jayson Werth returned after a sore groin forced him from the lineup on Saturday. Werth went 0 for 4 with two strikeouts and stranded three runners. ... Simmons hit in the No. 5 spot for the first time in his career, going 2 for 5 with three RBIs. ... Nate McLouth was supposed to start in CF and bat second for Washington, but manager Matt Williams said he tweaked his left knee while shagging flyballs during batting practice and was held out. ... Nationals LF Steven Souza Jr. made his major league debut in the seventh as Frandsen moved to second base and Danny Espinosa left the game. Souza struck out in the eighth. ... The Nationals called up INF Zach Walters from Triple-A Syracuse to take Zimmermans spot on the 25-man roster. Walters struck out as a pinch-hitter to end the game. ... Perhaps the greatest daredevil in the world right now is a Russian named Kirill Oreshkin. Earl Thomas III Seahawks Jersey .This brave young man is the king of selfies at unimaginable heights. So high that you may even get nauseous looking at some of his work. Why does he do it? "I started doing it because I like the views," Oreshkin said. "I like photographing the city and the people I get to spend time with." Sounds like a good enough reason, we guess. The people he spends time climbing with are no less insane than Kirill. As you can see in this picture.Heres a video about Kirill and his exploits. It includes facts like sometimes he likes to just hang off the buildings by only his fingers and all his stunts are done unsupervised and without any safety gear.Enjoy it, watch it, but dont try this at home or any building for that matter. Perhaps the crazier thing is Kirill is not the only one out there doing this.Heres a compilation of other insane climbers who refer to themselves as "Mustang Wanted." Ahtyba Rubin Seahawks Jersey . Manager Alex Ferguson says the injury was sustained while the player tried to hit a volley toward the end of training on Tuesday.MONTREAL - There was just enough left in the Montreal Canadiens legs after rousing wins in Toronto and Boston to face the lowly Buffalo Sabres. Max Pacioretty broke a scoreless tie with his 100th career goal midway through the third period and former Sabre Daniel Briere added another as the Canadiens downed last-place Buffalo 2-0 on Tuesday night. "Mentally, the emotional high to come back and get motivated for a game against the Buffalo Sabres was the toughest part," said Briere. "We were a little sloppy in the first period, no doubt about it, but it got better as the game went on." Carey Price made 24 saves for the shutout as the Canadiens (41-26-7) posted a third win in a row and the sixth in seven games — a stretch that included a 2-0 win in Buffalo on March 16. The Sabres (20-44- have one win in their last 10 games. They played their fourth game of a five-game road trip that ends Thursday in Nashville. Their top player was goalie Matt Hackett, who made 33 saves in his second start of the season. "You have the give the kid credit. He played well," said Buffalo head coach Ted Nolan of Hackett. "He looks like hes fighting for a job and thats what you want." The Canadiens had played three games in four nights, including a 4-3 victory in Toronto on Saturday and a rousing but rough win against the rival Bruins in Boston on Monday night. With eight regular season games to play, they are two points up on Tampa Bay for second place in the Atlantic Division, but the Lightning have two games in hand. "This is a very important time for us," Price said after his fifth shutout of the season. "Obviously, everybodys trying to make the playoffs and to be able to pick up points against divisional teams and play well — its definitely a confidence-builder." The win in Boston was costly as two fourth line players left with injuries. Coach Michel Therrien said Dale Weise, who was checked from behind into the boards, has an upper-body injury and will be out for two to three weeks. He said Travis Moen, who jumped to Weises defence and got rocked by a punch from Bostons Kevan Miller, "feels bbetter" but has a concussion and will miss at least a week. Luke Willson Seahawks Jersey. Already missing Brandon Prust to an injury, the Canadiens had a new fourth line of Lars Eller with Ryan White and Michael Bournival. They may have had the most jump on a team that looked short on energy to start the game. Through two scoreless periods, the loudest cheers from the 21,273 Bell Centre fans were for a sharp Price save on Matt DAgostini during a Sabres power play and when Olympic moguls gold medallist Alex Bilodeau was shown on the scoreboard screen. "The first period was even, we even outshot them (11-10), but we couldnt keep it going into the second," said Nolan. "Then there were bad penalties again." They finally broke the ice on a rush after a Buffalo power play when former Sabre Thomas Vanek slipped a diagonal pass that Pacioretty put in off Hackett at 10:53 of the third period. Briere picked the puck out of a crowd and beat Hackett with a wrist shot from close range on a power play at 16:54. "What I liked was that we didnt change anything when it was 0-0," said Therrien. "We stuck to the game plan and we were rewarded. Hackett played really well for them, but we were patient and disciplined with the puck. "I expected a tough start after the wins in Toronto and Boston." The Canadiens had a four-minute power play in the second period when DAgostini was called for holding and got an extra two for banging his stick on the glass in protest, but failed to cash in. Sabres defenceman Tyler Myers left the game at 6:15 of the third when he looked to hurt an arm or his ribs crashing into a goalpost. There was no immediate word on his condition. Myers was in his first game since sitting out five with an arm injury. Notes — With Weise and Moen both injured Monday in Boston, Eller and White returned to the Montreal lineup. Jarred Tinordi replaced veteran Francis Bouillon. . .Ville Leino, who is without a goal in 51 games this season, was back for the Sabres after sitting out two games in place of injured Zenon Konopka.. . The Winnipeg Jets return to MTS Centre for a 7:00 face off tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. Matt Schaub Falcons Jersey . The 31-30-9 Jets are coming off a 3-1 loss in St. Louis Monday night and currently sit with 71 points in the Central Division. Winnipeg is six points behind Phoenix for a Western Conference Wild Card playoff spot. The Coyotes also lead Dallas by two points and Vancouver by five. Al Montoya will start his third straight game in goal due to the injury of Ondrej Pavelec. Head coach Paul Maurice said this morning Pavelec remains day-to-day with a lower-body injury. Dustin Byfuglien will miss his first game of the season tonight due to a lower-body injury. Maurice hopes hell be able to play Saturday against Carolina. Eric Tangradim, who has been a healthy scratch for the last four games, replaces Byfuglien. Jets Projected Lines: Ladd-Little-FrolikKane-ODell-Setoguchi Tangradi-Jokinen-WheelerHalischuk-Cormier-Peluso Bogosian-EnstromStuart-TroubaPardy-Ellerby Colorado is coming off a 6-3 loss in Montreal and did not have a pregame skate this morning at MTS Centre. Reto Berra will start in goal. It will be his first appearance with the Avalanche since being acquired from Calgary. In 29 games with the Flames this season, Berra was 9-17-2 with a 2.95 goals against average and .897 save percentage. The 44-20-5 Avalanche have 93 points and sit second in the Central Division. They are eight points back of first place St. Louis. Colorado is the only team in the NHL to have not been shut out this season. Jamie McGinn is on a four-game point streak that includes three goals and three assists. This is the fifth and final game between these teams this season. Colorado has a 3-0-1 record outscoring the Jets 11-9. Matt Duchene leads the Avalanche in those games with four goals and an assist while Blake Wheeler has four goals and three assists for the Jets. Steve Bartkowski Falcons Jersey . The actual winners on transfer deadline day are those clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City who were well prepared and managed to get their main incoming business done well ahead of the transfer window closing. Tottenham were able to add seven players by spending over 100 million pounds and also ensured maximum return for the Gareth Bale transfer to Real Madrid by managing the move superbly. Devonta Freeman Falcons Jersey .C. - Blair Jones scored the eventual winner in the third period as the Abbotsford Heat defeated the Oklahoma City Oil Barons 3-2 in American Hockey League action on Friday. http://www.falconsteamstoreauthentic.com/Youth-LaRoy-Reynolds-Elite-Jersey/ .Y. - Major League Soccers independent review panel has taken back the fine and one-game suspension it placed on Toronto FC forward Luke Moore earlier this week."I really like the way hes into the game on the bench, hes finishing checks, hes engaged in what hes doing," Paul Maurice said Thursday as the Jets prepared to host the Vancouver Canucks. "He doesnt at all look like a player whos waiting for this experiment not to work and Im going to go back to where I want to. " Moving Byfuglien to the wing was one of former coach Claude Noels last acts as he tried to reverse a five-game slide that ultimately cost him his job. Maurice left Byfuglien there and suggests its working so well its not even something he thinks about. "Hes put up big numbers, scored overtime goals, done the things, so hes impactful in our game," Maurice said. The Chicago Blackhawks also tried Byfuglien at forward, although he has made it no secret that he prefers defence. He hasnt quit cold turkey and still covers the blue-line when the Jets have a power play and Byfuglien is still the third-highest scoring defenceman in the league with 40 points. When Winnipegs power play works (which isnt often, ranking 24th in the NHL) its usually Byfuglien whos partly responsible. He has a team-leading 19 power-play points. While forward might not be his first choice, he says its his job to do what hes asked to help the Jets win. "I dont know if Im really comfortable yet but getting there," he said after practice Thursday. "Playing with the same line helps and getting to know where they go, its better." He plays right wing on what is nominally the teams third line with Olli Jokinen in the middle and Devin Setoguchi on the left side. It has largely done what Noel hoped to accomplish, given the Jets three legitimate scoring lines that opposition teams have to be concerned abbout. Customized Atlanta Falcons Jersey. Byfuglien has had six points in the nine games since the change, more than his linemates combined. The shift has meant rookie defenceman Jacob Trouba, just 19, is now getting a lot of ice time and defence partner Mark Stuart has nothing but praise for the way hes handled himself. "Hes a kid whos got tremendous skill and hes going to be such a good player in the league, he already is," said the veteran, whose own play seems to have taken off lately. Stuart had points in each of the teams last two games and is seeing almost as much ice time as Trouba. "I think we complement each other," he said. "Hes such a good skater, he plays with the puck really well, he loves skating it up. "Im more of a stay back (defenceman) a lot more, I think defence first." Trouba has seven points over the last seven games and has moved into 14th spot on the rookie scoring list, despite having played only 38 games this season due to injuries. After losing 4-3 to the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, the Jets host Western Conference rival Vancouver on Friday night at the MTS Centre. January hasnt been kind to the slumping Canucks, who have won just four of the 14 games theyve played this month. Theyll arrive here having lost two straight to Edmonton and Chicago. But theyre still clinging to the eighth and final playoff spot in the conference. The Jets were 12th going into Fridays game and need to gain a lot of ground if they hope to avoid missing the post-season once again. WINNIPEG -- Dustin Byfuglien may have to scratch for things he likes about playing forward but his coach is certainly sold on the way the former Winnipeg Jets defenceman is performing when hes on the ice. NEW YORK -- At least on this day, Chris Tillman and the Baltimore Orioles were better than the best pitcher in the big leagues this season. John Riggins Redskins Jersey . Tillman tossed seven innings of four-hit ball and Baltimore beat the New York Yankees 8-0 Sunday, handing Masahiro Tanaka his second major league loss. "Hes some kind of pitcher," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "We were fortunate to catch him on a day when he wasnt as sharp as he normally is." Jonathan Schoop homered off Tanaka for the second time and fellow rookie Caleb Joseph capped the scoring with his first career homer. J.J. Hardy hit a three-run double for the Orioles, who spoiled Old-Timers Day at Yankee Stadium and took two of three from their AL East rivals. After squandering a ninth-inning lead in Friday nights loss, Baltimore outhomered the Yankees 6-1 and outscored them 14-1 in the final two games of the series. "What does it say about this team? That we have a short memory," Hardy said. New York slugger Mark Teixeira left in the eighth after getting hit on the toes of his left foot by an 85 mph slider from T.J. McFarland. Teixeira hobbled toward first, then slammed his helmet to the ground in anger before heading into the dugout. X-rays were negative, manager Joe Girardi said. "I thought it was broken again. I took it out on my helmet," Teixeira said. "Just breathing a sigh of relief right now." Tillman (6-4) snapped a two-start skid, though he pitched well in those outings, and improved to 6-0 on the road -- though he entered with a 6.33 ERA away from home. "I made some adjustments during my side sessions and I was able to carry them out to the mound with me today," Tillman said. Tanaka (11-2) allowed three runs in seven innings, giving him a quality start all 15 times out this season. But the Yankees provided no support for the Japanese rookie, who entered with the most wins in the majors and the best ERA (1.99) in the American League. His only other defeat came on May 20 against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field. Then he went 5-0 with a 1.26 ERA in his next five starts before Sunday. Hardy hit a bases-loaded double in a four-run eighth against Adam Warren after a disputed call went against the Yankees. As he tried for a double play, third baseman Kelly Johnson was taken out by Steve Pearce on what appeared to be an illegal slide too far from the bag. Girardi called it a "pretty malicious" and "dangerous" play, but Pearce said he wasnt trying to hurt Johnson. Manny Machado chopped an RBI single, and Joseph homered in the ninth. Joseph said he was excited that his first home run came at Yankee Stadium, and he ran up the tunnel and hid for a while to turn the tables on his teammates who were planning the silent treatment. The 28-year-old catcher got the souvenir ball back, and said he was told it was Derek Jeter who went to the ball boy and made sure of it. "He might have been the only one on the field that knew it was my first major league home run," Joseph said. "Im really thankful that he did that." Schoop homered to left on a 2-2 pitch in the second, making the 22-year-old infielder from Curacao the only big league player to go deep twice against Tanaka. Schoop also connected for a three-run shot at Yankee Stadium on April 9, when Tanaka ended up with a no-decision in Baltimores 5-4 victory. "I saw the ball pretty well. It was up," Schoop said. "I think he missed a little bit." Hardy singled to start the seventh and went to third on Machados double. Schoop had an RBI groundout, and Joseph hit a long sacrifice fly after fouling off a suicide squeeze attempt. "I feel like that I kind of let the game go there," Tanaka said through a translator. NOTES: Before the game, Hall of Fame reliever Goose Gossage was honoured with a plaque to be put in Monument Park -- part of festivities for the 68th annual Old-Timers Day at Yankee Stadium. Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford, both in their 80s, waved from a golf cart and received standing ovations. ... The recorded voice of late public address announcer Bob Sheppard welcomed fans to Old-Timers Day. Showalter, who managed the Yankees from 1992-95, was introduced to a warm ovation. He popped out of the dugout in full Orioles gear and waved to the crowd before hugging former GM Gene Michael and other ex-Yankees along the third base line. ... Speaking with TSN 1050 following Brendan Shanahans introductory press conference, the Leafs GM also addressed the clubs perceived leadership issues and the type of working relationship that can be expected within Torontos front office.WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic and Jerzy Janowicz of Poland advanced to the Winston-Salem Open final with three-set victories on Friday. The seventh-seeded Rosol edged Taiwans Yen-Hsun Lu 7-5, 4-6, 6-4, and Janowicz defeated Sam Querrey 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 in the final tuneup for next weeks U.S. Open. "Ive been trying to get ready for the hard-court season, but the practice matches were no good for me," said Rosol, who should crack the top 30 in the world rankings for the first time after Fridays win. "But Im happy with my results this week. I hope Im not finished yet." Rosol took a key service break from Lu to go up 5-4 in the third set, and then saved three break points while serving out the match to advance to his third ATP Tour final this year. "All the games were pretty tough," said Rosol, who made it to the semifinals after top-seed John Isner of the U.S. withdrew Thursday because of a sprained ankle. "On my serve, there was a couple times when I went down 30-love and came back. There was a time when (Lu) went down 40-love on his serve and came back. "It was always up and down, so we had to stay with our mind on the court and stay focused all the time." Janowicz broke Querrey four times in the final six gamees of the second and third sets. Charley Taylor Redskins Jersey. "It definitely was an extremely tough match," Janowicz said. "I didnt play my best tennis today. I was fighting to the end. Its always nice to win that kind of match." Despite serving 18 aces, Querrey had trouble controlling his serve, making just 52 per cent of his first serves with six double faults. While he broke Janowiczs serve four times, he also blew three break opportunities. "A lot of them, he hit a serve that was too big or hit a serve that I barely got in," said Querrey, who was trying to make his first tournament final of the year. Janowicz had a scare early in the third set, calling out a trainer for treatment on his left foot. But he managed to stay in the match. Lu, who had beaten Rosol in their only previous meeting last year in Thailand, had his chances in the tight semi. He used a service break to go up 4-1 in the first set before Rosol rallied, and nearly blew a 5-2 advantage in the second set before winning the set. "It was a very close match," said Lu, who was playing in his third semifinal this year. "We both had many, many chances. Theres nothing to complain about, but if I had done better on some points, the score would have turned to my side." NFL Jerseys China ' ' '
