PORTLAND, Ore. Air Max 2016 Flyknit . -- Fresh off their surprising run in the playoffs, the Portland Trail Blazers have signed head coach Terry Stotts to a multi-year contract extension. Stotts led the Blazers to a 54-28 regular-season record, for the teams biggest improvement in team history. Portland made the playoffs for the first time since 2011, dispatching the Houston Rockets in six games, before falling to the San Antonio Spurs in five games in the Western Conference semifinals. The season wrapped up for the Blazers on Wednesday night with a 104-82 loss in San Antonio. "We werent expected to be in the position we were in the regular season. We werent expected to win the first round. So, it was a special year," Stotts said after the game. "I thought everyone of our stars had career years. The young guys got better. We fought through adversity during the season. We made a strong push at the end of the year. There were so many positives about this season." Stotts has an 87-77 record in two seasons with the Blazers, after serving as an assistant with Dallas for four seasons, including the Mavericks championship in 2011. The Blazers finished 33-49 his first season. "Terry has done an outstanding job during his first two years with the organization," general manager Neil Olshey said in a statement. "This extension illustrates our confidence in him as our head coach as well as the Portland Trail Blazers continued commitment to building a model of consistency and stability." The terms of the deal were not disclosed. Nike Air Max 2015 Blanche . The idea came about just over three years after Schmirler was standing on the podium in Nagano 1998, signing our national anthem after capturing the Olympic gold medal in womens curling. Unfortunately, it was also just 14 months after she passed away from a rare form of cancer at the young age of 36. Much like the success Schmirler enjoyed on the ice, the foundation started in her name has been a winner at providing hospitals with funding for the care of premature and critically ill newborn babies across Canada. Despite all the big curling shots she made over the years, including the famous in-off at the 1997 Olympic Trials, Schmirler said giving birth to her only daughter at the time was her best delivery. It was clear that Schmirler never lost sight of what was important in life, which makes her name a perfect fit for the foundation, which bears the slogan Champions start small. Air Jordan 11 Concord. Currently, over 30 hospitals benefit as a result of funding from the foundation and last year, almost $300,000 was made available to those hospitals through grants. And over the 13 years the foundation has been in existence, almost $2.5 million has been allocated to 34 different hospitals Also, six junior curlers received $5,000 each in the first annual Spirit of Sandra Scholarships last year, including Kristin Streifel, who skipped Schmirlers home province of Saskatchewan in this years Canadian Junior Curling Championships in Nova Scotia. Sunday is Sandra Schmirler Day at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Montreal and TSNs Vic Rauter will be hosting the annual telethon for the foundation. Wallach is being interviewed for the vacant Boston Red Sox managerial job. Hansen played 11 seasons for the Dodgers in two different stints. He took over last summer for Jeff Pentland. And with Miami finishing one run of three games in four nights on Wednesday -- and simultaneously starting another of those gruelling stretches -- Wade may be taking a night off to try and heal. SAO PAULO, Brazil -- Will Power had a flawless race to win IndyCars Sao Paulo 300 for the third straight time on Sunday. The Australian was hardly challenged on the streets of South Americas biggest city, finishing ahead of Ryan Hunter Reay on the four-kilometre, 11-turn Anhembi circuit. "I think I love Brazil, I love Sao Paulo," Power said after climbing out of his car. Takuma Sato had a great run to finish third for his first podium after starting only 25th and Brazilian Helio Castroneves was fourth after starting 18th. Three-time defending series champion Dario Franchitti recovered from an early spin to finish fifth. James Hinchcliffe of Oakville, Ont., started fourth and finished sixth. It was Powers third straight victory after four races this season, and Penskes fourth straight. It is the first time the team wins four in a row to start the season, dating to the introduction of CART in 1979. Penske also won the first three races of the year in 2010. "Something is clicking there very well," Hunter-Reay said. "I dont think its a coincidence at all that theyve won as many as theyve won this season. Three out of four, thats astonishing." Power clearly was faster than the rest of the field on Sunday but had to fend off Hunter-Reay on a couple of late restarts, including one with five laps to go. Power crossed the line less than a second ahead of the American. "I was giving absolutely everything I had to keep Ryan behind," Power said. "A solid day when you look at it, very solid, no mistakes." Reay said he knew his best chance was to try to make a move at the restarts. "I was certainly going hard, giving Will Power every bit of the fight that I had in me going into Turn 1. I tried to get him on the outside," the Andretti Autosport driver said. "It was a good race, a lot of fun, but came out just a little bit short." Last year Power won from the pole in a race postponed for a day because of heavy rain. He won the inaugural Sao Paulo 300 in 2010, passing Hunter-Reay with three laps to go to win the rain-shortened race. Power was coming off victories in Alabama and Long Beach annd his triumph in Brazil helped him increase his series points lead heading into the Indy 500 next month. Johnathan Joseph Texans Jersey. "Definitely good for the points, the biggest one is next race and well try to make it four in a row," he said. Japans Sato surprised with his third-place finish after starting back in the grid because of an engine change. He also overcame a drive-thru penalty on lap 12, using a three-stop strategy and being aggressive on restarts to move to the front. "Will was just about lapping me when I had a drive-thru penalty, so we were really luck," Sato said. "It was an eventful and very exciting race. Every restart really helped me a lot." Weather was a concern as it rained hard during the morning practice session and it was expected to rain all day on Sunday, but the race started and finished on a mostly dry track. There was a light drizzle during the race, but not enough to get the track wet. Rain had affected the Sao Paulo race every year since it joined the IndyCar calendar in 2010. Eight drivers were involved in a crash at a restart with eight laps to go, and although there was little contact between the cars, the track was blocked as the cars tried to make it through the first chicane. Scott Dixon was on a different pit strategy and passed Power for the lead on lap 52 as the Australian came off the pits, but Dixon -- who started third -- had to make another stop at the end and finished only 17th. Franchitti stayed close to Power in the beginning of the race but spun on a restart on lap 27. He apparently was touched from behind at the first chicane and lost control of his Chip Ganassi Racing car. He needed to use pit strategy to race back to the front to finish in the top five after starting second. Ryan Briscoes race ended when he hit the wall exiting a turn on lap 22, and Josef Newgarden was involved in an accident at chicane on a restart on lap 29. Rubens Barrichello, in his first race at home since joining IndyCar this season after a 19-year career in Formula One, ran as high as third place but fell to 10th at the end. Castroneves was the best Brazilian at the packed Anhembi circuit. Cheap China Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NHL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys From China China NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Korey Banks got his wish and has been traded from the BC Lions. Moncler Cappotti In Piumino . The veteran defensive back and five-time CFL All-Star has been sent to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in exchange for non-import receiver Kito Poblah. It seemed only a matter of time before Banks would be out in BC after making it known he has no interest in playing out his option year with the team. Lions GM Wally Buono meanwhile, had stated he didnt intend to renegotiate Banks contract. The 10-year CFLer has played the last eight years in BC. Last year the 34-year-old recorded 46 tackles and two interceptions. For his career Banks has 442 tackles and 37 interceptions. "Were grateful for Koreys contributions to our club and we wish him the best in Winnipeg," Buono said in a team statement. "Korey adds an immediate presence in our locker room, veteran leadership both on and off the field, and we look forward to welcoming him to the Bomber organization," Bombers GM Kyle Walters said in a team statement. "We also wish Kito all the best in Vancouver and thank him for his contributions to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers." In Poblah the Lions get a three-year veteran and former first-round supplemental pick. The Central Michigan product has 53 career catches for 534 yards. Poblah missed all but one game last season. Winnipeg also released quarterback Jason Boltus, defensive back Bo Smith, linebacker Daniel Sheffield, running back Mario Fannin and defensive end Mathieu Boulay. Nike Air Max 2016 Uomo . The victory was Dubnyks first with Hamilton, as he came into the contest 0-4-0 with a 3.49 goals-against average and an .884 save percentage since being acquired in a trade from the Nashville Predators on March 5. CHICAGO -- Chase Utley stuck it to the Cubs again. Its just what he does to teams when hes healthy and hitting. Utley went 3-for-3 and homered for the second day in a row, and Cliff Lee pitched seven scoreless innings to lead the Philadelphia Phillies to a 2-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday. "He looks good," Sandberg said. "Hes feeling good, hes in great shape and hes producing quality at-bats right now. Hes very healthy and he looks good." Dominic Brown drove in Utley for the Phillies other run with a single in the fourth inning. Lee (2-0) allowed 10 hits and had just one 1-2-3 inning. But it never felt as if he was in trouble. He worked on the edges of both sides of the plate and kept the Cubs hitters off balance. Four of his six strikeouts were called third strikes. "I still had to battle a little bit," said Lee, who won his first start of the season despite allowing eight runs in five innings. "They got their fair share of hits, but I was able to make pitches when I needed to. "Seven innings, no runs, Ill take that every time." The Cubs wasted another strong start from Jeff Samardzija (0-1), who allowed two runs on six hits in seven innings. He walked three and struck out eight. In his two starts, the right-hander has a 1.29 ERA with nothing to show for it, but said hes confident the offence will come around. "Absolutely," he said. "I see these guys working every day; I know what theyre doing. If it were a different situation, if I thought these guys were being lazy or this or that, obviously itd be different. But these guys come to work every day, doing everything we can. "Its early in thhe season, were going to keep going, keep pushing and figure this out. Air Max 2016 Uomo. " Utley ensured that Lee would take the mound with a lead when he cranked a 1-1 fastball from Samardzija into the right-field bleachers for a two-out solo home run in the top of the first inning. It was Utleys second homer of the season. Utley then led off the fourth with a walk, took second on a single by Ryan Howard and scored on a single by Brown to make it 2-0. Utley, who has been bothered by knee problems in recent years, showed how healthy hes feeling on the play. Browns hit was a liner to left-centre. Utley got a quick read on the ball and raced around third to score without a play. With Lee painting the corners, the two-run advantage seemed huge. The Cubs managed two hits in each the first, third and seventh innings, but couldnt produce a big hit break through - just like things have gone so far this season. NOTES: The Cubs confirmed that RHP Carlos Villanueva will make his scheduled start in Sundays series finale. Villanuevas status was in question because he used in relief twice during the opening series in Pittsburgh. He was losing pitcher in both, meaning hell take the mound for his first start with a 0-2 record and a 13.50 ERA. A.J. Burnett (0-0, 1.50) will start for the Phillies. The veteran RHP allowed one run in six innings in his first start of the season. . Phillies SS Jimmy Rollins was back in the lineup after missing the previous two games when he returned to Philadelphia for the birth of his second child, a daughter named Logan Aliya. . Utleys double in the eighth inning was the 300th of his career, which is eighth on the Phillies all-time list. Two struggling teams meet up in Calgary tonight when the Flames host the Carolina Hurricanes at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Nike Air Max 2016 Negras y Blancas . Calgary enters Thursday having lost two of three and the Flames were stung by the former face of their franchise in Tuesdays 2-1 loss against Jarome Iginla and the Boston Bruins. Iginlas return to Calgary was a triumphant one, as the Bruins overcame a 1-0 deficit with a pair of late goals to down the Flames. Reilly Smith potted the game-winner for Boston with 4:33 left to play, a mere 98 seconds after David Krejci recorded the equalizer with the Bruins on the power play. Iginla, the Flames all-time leader in goals (525), points (1,095) and games played (1,219), faced the club he spent 16 highly productive seasons with for the first time since Calgary traded its longtime captain to Pittsburgh during last Aprils trade deadline. The revered 36-year-old received a warm and rousing ovation from the home crowd during introductions. "It brought back a lot of great memories," Iginla said of his return. Jiri Hudler had the lone goal for Calgary, which received 22 saves from Reto Berra in a losing cause. "I think the best way to describe this is a lack of maturity," Flames head coach Bob Hartley said of his team allowing Boston to get back in the game in the third. It was the third loss in Calgarys last four home games, dropping the club to 5-7-3 at the Saddledome this season. This evenings game marks the first meeting between the Canes and Flames since Calgary posted a 7-6 home win on Dec. 6, 2011. Iginla scored twice for the Flames in that win. Calgary has taken five of seven from Carolina overall and the Hurricanes have dropped four straight and five of six at the Saddledome. Carolinas last win in Calgary came on Dec. 12, 2002. After consecutive losses to begin a four-game road trip, the Hurricanes hope to pick up a win in Calgary. The Hurricanes carried a three-game winning streak into this current trek, but lost 2-0 at Vancouver on Monday before dropping a 5-4 overtime decision the following night in Edmonton. However, Carolina did do a good job to even earn a point in Tuesdays setback, as they fell behind 4-1 to the Oilers before mounting a comeback. The Staal brothers -- Jordan and Eric -- each scored a goal to cut the deficit to 4-3 and Jeff Skinner tied it late in the third for Carolina. Eric Staals short-handed tally came 7:47 into the third period and Skinners tying marker was at the 14:46 mark. However, Jordan Eberle notched a power- play goal at 1:48 of OT to deliver the 5-4 victory for the hometown Oilers. "We showed some good jump battling back into the game," said Eric Staal. "Unfortunately, we had to kill a lot of penalties." In addition to goals from the Staals and Skinner, Carolina also received a tally from Tuomo Ruutu. UNIONDALE, N.Y. -- In Thomas Vaneks first week with the New York Islanders, the high-scoring forward has often said how thrilled he is to be playing alongside new captain John Tavares. Now he is starting to show how happy he really is. Tavares, defenceman Andrew MacDonald and Vanek scored second-period goals, and Kevin Poulin made 26 saves for his first win of the season as the Islanders beat the Boston Bruins 3-1 on Saturday night. Vanek, the left wing acquired from Buffalo for fan favourite Matt Moulson, scored his first goal with the Islanders and recorded his 500th NHL point. The scoring play came on a perfect cross-ice pass from right wing Kyle Okposo. Vanek finished it with a one-timer from the left circle past goalie Chad Johnson. "That felt really good, a relief for me," Vanek said. "Each day were feeling better and better and working together. Tonight you saw what can be possible with our line." Tavares knocked a loose puck past Johnson at 6:15 of the second for his sixth goal of the season. The assist went to Vanek. After MacDonald scored his first of the season at 13:13 to make it 2-0, and Bostons Dougie Hamilton answered two minutes later, Vanek notched his 255th NHL goal. "Hes a great skilled player," Tavares said. "When you get those opportunities, you have to take advantage of them, and he did. When we play our game and compete, we are successful." Okposo and defenceman Travis Hamonic assisted on the goals by MacDonald and Vanek. The Islanders (6-5-3) won for the second straight night. On Friday, they bombarded the Ottawa Senators with 57 shots and won 5-4 in a shootout, twice rallying from two-goal deficits. "Our last six periods have been very good," Islanders coach Jack Capuano said. "Kevin was particularly solid for us tonight. This was a strong character win." Tavares, who has played 221 connsecutive games, seemed more at ease with the new line combination of Vanek and Okposo. Nike Air Max 90 Blancas Baratas. . Moulson had been Tavares left wing and close friend since the captains rookie season in 2009-10, scoring 118 goals for the Islanders. Boston (8-5) lost for the third time in four games. Poulins best save came 6:58 in when he denied David Krejci from the top of the crease after two perfect passes from Jarome Iginla and Patrice Bergeron. He also stopped Milan Lucics backhand from in front with 1:29 left in the third as the Bruins had Johnson pulled for an extra skater. He made another glove save on Hamilton with 23 seconds remaining, sparking chants of "Pou-lin, Pou-lin" from the home crowd. "I felt strong out there, working hard at doing the little things right," Poulin said. The 23-year-old Poulins two other starts in place of No. 1 goalie Evgeni Nabokov were losses -- 3-2 at Chicago and 5-2 at home to Philadelphia. Johnson played his second game of the season to give Tuukka Rask a rest. Johnson won his only other start, 5-2 at Buffalo on Oct. 23. The Bruins, coming off a 3-2 shootout win over Anaheim on Thursday, will start a five-game homestand against Dallas on Tuesday. They had won their previous three visits and eight of 10 at Nassau Coliseum. "We werent focused or sharp enough," Bruins coach Claude Julien said. "Well be working hard to get the team back on track." The Islanders will embark on a four-game trip starting Tuesday at Washington before they head to Carolina, Columbus and Montreal. It was the third time this year they lost at home with a chance to get over the .500 mark. Martell Webster had 15 points and Marcin Gortat added 10 points and 12 rebounds for Washington. The score was tied at 88-all when Wizards forward Nene hit two free throws with six minutes left. But Stuckey followed with a three-point play as the Pistons took the lead for good. He added two free throws and his jumper with 2:23 left put Detroit in charge, 97-90. Washington got no closer than three after that. It was a tale of two halves for Smith, who went 0 for 6 from the field in the first two quarters and then scored 20 in the second half. He also had eight boards for the NBAs top rebounding squad. Washington hit 10 of its first 15 shots and sprinted to a 26-16 lead. But the first four Cardinals batters hit singles in the seventh, starting a deluge that didnt end until Kershaw was on the bench, presumably wondering how the NL Central champions got the best of him again. After two full days off, the Montreal Canadiens were back to work with a light 45 minute practice as they continue to wait for their opponent in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Toronto FC return to league action on Saturday against New York Red Bulls but the Reds will be without their most influential player, midfielder Michael Bradley, who has now left to join up with the United States squad for their pre World Cup training camp. Cheap NFL Jerseys . After a difficult run in the league, TFC managed to advance to the final of the Amway Canadian Championship in Vancouver on Wednesday night. Despite losing 2-1 against the Whitecaps at BC Place after extra time, Toronto won the tie on penalties. The Form: Toronto FC have lost three straight in Major League Soccer, and their home form has been poor, losing two of their three games at BMO Field this season against Colorado Rapids and New England Revolution. Defensively, the Reds have had some shaky moments in their last couple of league games, conceding four goals at Dallas and home to New England. Ryan Nelsens team will be buoyed by their progression in the Canadian Championship: Its a game we really wanted to win," said the coach following the match in Vancouver. "No matter how we got through, we got through. When you play these games and they go to extra time, it can be a real positive when you come out with a win. Guys have played together now, they will harden up and any 90 minutes they experience in the future will be a walk in the park compared to this." The Big Question: Will Toronto FCs players have enough gas left in the tank? With the Amway Canadian Championship semifinal in Vancouver going all the way to penalty kicks on Wednesday night, there will be some tired legs within TFCs squad. However, Toronto FC had a bye weekend in MLS leading up to the match in Vancouver and have only played seven league matches so far this year, so the effect of a lengthy cup tie may not be as negative as it could have been if the schedule had been more difficult. The Lineup: Bradley Orr partnered Doneil Henry in the centre of defence in Vancouver but veteran defender Steve Caldwell is likely to return to the lineup against the Red Bulls. Mark Bloom and Justin Morrow are set to return in the fullback positions, although Nick Hagglund has impressed this year whenever he has been given an opportunity. With Bradley gone, Torontos midfield could see two young Canadians paired together with the potential for Kyle Bekker to play alongside Jonathan Osorio, although Osorio has also been played by Nelsen on the left side of midfield recently. Draft pick Daniel Lovitz was impressive when he came on as a substitute for his Toronto FC debut in Vancouver on Wednesday. Jermain Defoe was left on the bench against the Whitecaps but should be back in the team on Saturday. Ryan Nelsen will be hoping Defoe is motivated to prove a point after being left out of Englands World Cup squad. The Opposition: New York Red Bulls won the Supporters Shield last year, finishing with the best record in MLS during the regular season. Mike Petkes team have had a mixed season so far. They got off to a slow start, failing to win in their first six matches, but since then things have picked up, and they were unbeaten in four - with three wins - prior to losing a crazy game at home to Chicago Fire last weekend 5-4. Whenever the Red Bulls visit, much of the attention is focused on France star Thierry Henry, but it is his attacking partner Bradley Wright-Phillips who has been capturing the headlines of late. Wright-Phillips scored a hat-trick (his second of the season) against Chicago and has now scored eight goals in his last four matches. The London born forward leads the league in scoring with nine goals, and has been developing a strong understanding with Henry. Red Bulls coach Petke and TFCs Nelsen know each other well. They won MLS Cup as teammates at DC United back in 2004. Petke was a finalist for MLS Coach of the Year in 2013 after guiding New York to the top of the standings in his first year in charge. The Odds: With Toronto FCs current poor run in MLS and their disappointing home losses against Colorado and New England, New York will arrive at BMO Field confident of taking at least a point home with them, especially given the loss of Michael Bradley. The Red Bulls have a very good record against Toronto FC and are unbeaten in their last ten matches against the Reds dating back to June 2009. Theyve out-scored them 25-5 during that stretch. In fact, New York have only lost four of 18 meetings all-time against Toronto. Where To Watch: Join me, Jason deVos and Kristian Jack for Toronto FC against the New York Red Bulls, live on TSN on Saturday at 4:30pm ET, 1.30pm PT. Cheap NFL Jerseys Supply . Marcel Mosley had 19 points and Ghiavonnie Robinson added 13 for the Golden Lions (1-7), who have dropped their past five games. The Spartans led this game from start to finish and built an 18-7 lead six minutes in after Costello hit a pair of free throws. A 12-0 run from Michigan State later in the half saw the team build its lead to 25 after Trice hiit a pair of free throws for a 36-11 advantage. Authentic NHL Jerseys Wholesale. PHILADELPHIA -- Marlon Byrd drove in two runs and the Philadelphia Phillies knocked around Jose Fernandez in one of his worst major league starts, beating the Miami Marlins 6-3 Friday night to snap a four-game skid. Cheap Jerseys Supply . Phillies starter A.J. Burnett left in the fourth inning because of a sore groin, but Philadelphia chased Fernandez (2-1) with three runs in the fifth en route to its first home win of the season. Fernandez, last seasons NL Rookie of the Year, was tagged for eight hits and a career-worst six earned runs in four-plus innings. The right-hander walked four, matching a career high, and struck out six. He gave up only one run over 18 innings in three appearances against Philadelphia last season. Derek Dietrich homered for the Marlins, who lost their fifth straight. Miami has been outscored 32-13 during the slide. Byrd had two hits, including a double. Chase Ultey and Jimmy Rollins also had two hits for the Phillies, outscored 25-10 by Milwaukee this week in their first home series of the season. The Brewers won all three games for their first sweep in Philadelphia. Jonathan Papelbon pitched a scoreless ninth for his second save in three chances. Philadelphia quickly jumped on Fernandez, scoring two runs in the first thanks to Byrds RBI double and Domonic Browns RBI single. Byrd has six hits and seven RBIs in his last four games. After the Marlins tied it at 2 in the second on Dietrichs drive to right-centre, Philadelphia went ahead 3-2 in the third thanks to Fernandezs wildness. The Phillies loaded the bases with a pair of walks and Utleys single before Fernandez walked in the go-ahead run with a free pass to Ryan Howard. Then, the hard-throwing righty returned to form by striking out the next three batters, featuring a fastball that reached 98 mph. He whiffed all three in the fourth for six straight strikeouts -- all swinging. Fernandez, however, was shaky in the fifth when Philadelphia opened the inning with four straight hits, the last of which was Byrds RBI single that ended Fernandezs night. Kevin Slowey limited the Phillies to just one more run, charged to Fernandez, but the damage had been done. Burnett was removed with one out in the fourth after walking Casey McGehee to load the bases on four pitches that werent even close. Phillies trainer Scott Sheridan went to the mound with manager Ryne Sandberg to pull Burnett from the game. He had thrown 106 pitches. Left-hander Jake Diekman (1-0) relieved Burnett and wiggled out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam by striking out Jarrod Saltalamacchia and Dietrich. Jeff Bakers eighth-inning sacrifice fly pulled Miami to 6-3. NOTES: Rollins had two walks to give him 694 for his career, moving into sixth place in Phillies history. ... The Marlins have lost 11 of their last 14 in Philadelphia. ... Philadelphia CF Ben Revere (sore ribs) was replaced in the starting lineup by Tony Gwynn Jr. ... The Phillies activated infielder Freddy Galvis from the 15-day disabled list and optioned infielder Cesar Hernandez to Double-A Reading. Osasuna beat Atletico at its own game, both in its tough, physical approach and its set piece strategy to take a three-goal lead at the break after one of Atleticos worst first halves in three years under coach Diego Simeone. Alvaro Cejudo opened the scoring from a corner kick in the sixth minute before fellow forwards Emiliano Armenteros and Roberto Torres added goals in the 21st and 42nd. Atleticos loss came one day after Barcelona lost 3-1 at Real Sociedad, with both the former front-runners looking weary after their Champions League trips in midweek. Atletico fullback Filipe Luis, who returned from injury, said that their win at AC Milan on Wednesday had nothing to do with this defeat. "Osasuna played a great game," said Filipe Luis. "You cant take anything away from them. They beat us in every facet of the match." Atletico and Barcelona have both dropped 10 points over the last seven rounds, allowing Madrid to turn a five-point deficit into a three-point lead despite playing without Ballon dOr winner Cristiano Ronaldo during a three-game suspension. Madrid hadnt topped the standings since winning the title in 2011-12. Simeone quickly needs to restore both his teams fitness and confidence before it hosts Madrid next weekend after its crosstown rivals travel to German side Schalke 04 on Wednesday. Also on Sunday, Athletic Bilbao strengthened its hold on fourth place by winning 2-0 at Real Betis after the bottom side had two players dismissed, while Valencia and Sevilla won to move to within five points of sixth place and Spains last Europa League spot. Osasuna had already earned draws against Barcelona and Madrid at El Reyno de Navarra Stadium this season, and Javi Gracias side lived up to its reputation as being one of the toughest hosts in the Liga. "I think the fact that those three teams havent won here says a lot," said Cejudo, who credited his teams fans for their vocal support that he said "pushes" the team forward. Cheap NFL Jerseys. Osasuna used a bit of well-executed trickery to strike first when it sent several players to the near post to draw in Atleticos defence before Torres crossed to the far post, where Cejudo had charged in late to drive the ball home. Osasuna was a step faster to almost every ball and Armenteros beat Gabi Fernandez to a loose ball before he unleashed a blistering left-footed strike from outside the area that went in off the post. Diego Costa mustered a shot that sailed wide in the 21st, but Atletico never responded to Osasunas surge and a collective breakdown in defence cost it a third goal. David Villa first failed to fight for a ball in midfield, and then two defenders left Torres unmarked to nod Damia Abellas cross under goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. "It was a day to remember," said Gracia. "Its a big step for us as we try to stay up." Bilbaos first victory in four rounds lifted it four points clear of Real Sociedad and kept it in command of Spains last Champions League berth for next season. In contrast, Betis was left 11 points from safety after a dismal performance that at times bordered on self-destruction amid some questionable refereeing decisions. Bilbaos Iker Muniain converted a penalty in the 34th minute after Damien Perquis tripped Kike Sola in the area. Another reckless tackle by Perquis earned him a second yellow card in the 41st to completely deflate the crowd at Benito Villamarin Stadium. Betis was left with nine men from the 58th when Lorenzo Reyes handled the ball after he had already been booked for arguing. Bilbao substitute Guillermo Fernandez headed in the first ball he touched in the 81st. Valencia needed an injury-time goal from 19-year-old defender Ruben Vezo in his first start to complete a 2-1 comeback win at home over Granada. Sevilla won 1-0 at Rayo Vallecano thanks to fullback Jorge "Coke" Andujars 57th-minute header. Sevilla played the last seven minutes with 10 men after Vicente Iborra received his second booking. ST. UGG Boots Cyber Monday UK SALE . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- It took a masterful performance for Jake Odorizzi to get a rare win. Odorizzi allowed one hit and struck out 10 while pitching into the eighth inning as the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Houston Astros 8-0 on Saturday. "A lot of things went right today," Odorizzi said. Odorizzi (3-7) retired his first 10 batters before Jose Altuves one-out infield single in the fourth that went off the pitchers foot. The right-hander, who went 7 1/3 innings, won for just the second time in his last 14 starts. "Tough luck," Odorizzi said of Altuves hit. "It was coming too fast." Only one runner reached second base against Odorizzi, who walked two. Brad Boxberger and Kirby Yates completed the one-hitter. "Thats the kind of game were capable of, absolutely," Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon said. "We finally got the hits when we needed them and the pitching was outstanding. Jake was really good." The Rays are 7-18 in their last 25 games. They have nine shutouts this year. Jake Buchanan (0-1) gave up five runs, eight hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings in his major league debut. He had his contract purchased from Triple-A Oklahoma City to fill in for Brad Peacock, who was scratched from his scheduled start after having food poisoning earlier in the week. "It was pretty exciting to get out there and pitch in a big league game," Buchanan said. "I tried to settle in and battle and did the best I could." Kevin Kiermaier had an RBI double and James Loney hit a run-scoring single as the Rays took a 2-0 lead in the first. Buchanan avoided further damage by getting an inning-ending grounder from Yunel Escobar with the bases loaded. Tampa Bay had a three-run fifth to take a 5-0 lead. Brandon Guyer drove in a run with single before Matt Joyce had an RBI double that ended Buchanans day. Ryan Hanigan added a run-scoring double against Jerome Williams. Loney had a two-run single in a three-run eighth that extended the Rays lead to 8-0. Altuve went 1 for 3 with a walk, and has 12 hits in his last 21 at-bats. It was the ninth time this season, and second in three days, that Houston was shut out. "Thats the nature of baseball," Astros manager Bo Porter said. "You cant let a bad today ruin a great tomorrow. We come back (Sunday) and have an opportunity to get a split in a four-game series on the road, which is always good." NOTES: The teams wore retro 1970s uniforms on "Turn Back the Clock Day." Maddon remains a fan of the Astros rainbow uniforms that they wore Saturday. "They nailed it," Maddon said. "I do dig the uniforms." ... Houston C Jason Castro was the DH one day after taking a foul ball off his knee. He is expected to get Sunday off, ... Lions wide receiver Ernest Jackson was named CFL offensive player of the month Wednesday after helping his team secure a playoff berth for the 18th straight season.Erik Guay will miss at least the first two World Cup downhill races of the season following a pair of off-season knee surgeries. That means Canadas most decorated downhiller wont race the season-opening downhill or super-G on Nov. 29-30 in Lake Louise, Alta., nor will he compete the following week in Beaver Creek, Colo.Lake Louise is definitely a scratch this year, Guay said Tuesday from Toronto.Right now, our optimistic calculations should put me back on snow around the seventh of December. If everything goes well from there, Id like to start racing the last weekend of December. The 33-year-old from Mont-Tremblant, Que., had surgery to replace cartilage and bone in his left knee in June. Guay underwent arthroscopic surgery on the same knee in March. So far its been healing well, Guay said. It took a little bit longer than originally anticipated, but things are on schedule now. Im working on gaining some mass and strength back into my leg.Guay won the mens world downhill championship in 2011 after claiming the World Cup overall title in super-G in 2010. Last season, he passed Steve Podborski for the most career World Cup medals won by a Canadian and now sits at 22.After finishing off the podium at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Games in fourth and fifth respectively, Guay really wanted to win some Olympic hardware last February in Sochi, Russia. But he twisted his left knee in January while training in Wengen, Switzerland, and arrived in Sochi hobbling. Hed also had surgery on that knee in 2013.Guay was 10th in the downhill in Sochi and was disqualified in the super-G for missing a gate. His Canadian teammate Jan Hudec tied for bronze in the super-G to claim Canadas first alpine Olympic medal since 1994.Its not easy, certainly, Guay said. You work for this for four years and knowing I was competitive early on in the season makes it that much more frustrating. I knew going in my knee was a problem and it wasnt 100 perr cent. UGG Boots Cyber Monday UK DEALS. . It weighs on you. When you go into a race, and confidence is such a huge thing, and you know your knee isnt performing the way youd like it to, its not an easy thing.I personally struggle with that. Im not the kind of guy who can put things aside. Jan Hudecs extremely good at that. If hes racing through pain, hes able to do that extremely well, whereas I struggle with that a little bit more. The pursuit of that elusive Olympic medal will keep Guay racing to a fourth Winter Olympics in 2018. At 36, hed likely be one of the oldest downhillers, but others have raced at that age and reached the podium. Didier Cuche of Switzerland was still winning World Cup races at 37 before he retired. Bode Miller, who tied for third with Hudec in Sochi, was 36.But if Guay is going to race at breakneck speeds for another four years, his knee has to be able to sustain it.Two weeks after his arthroscopic procedure in March, he was still experiencing pain and swelling in his knee. Guay then made the decision to have the more invasive surgery.I needed to get (my) knee in a good place, he said. Even if I start a little late, even if I miss the season entirely, I think I have to keep my eyes on the prize which is four years down the road. That being said, Id like to start as soon as possible because I know how competitive my sport is. I know the more time you spend off snow, its that much time you have to make up on the other competitors. Im a little bit anxious to get back on snow and start racing again, but I need to give myself enough time to heal.Guay won his first career World Cup medal in Lake Louise in 2003 when he was second in downhill. Hes been a consistent top-10 finisher at the Canadian stop on the circuit.Hell be in Lake Louise working with his sponsors, but wont race there for the first time in over a decade.Itll definitely be a strange feeling not to be in the start hut, Guay said. MINNEAPOLIS -- Kendrys Morales is on his way back to Seattle to try and give the Mariners struggling offence a boost as they chase a playoff spot. Ua Speedform Phenom Black . The Minnesota Twins traded Morales to the Mariners on Thursday for minor-league pitcher Stephen Pryor. Morales hit 23 home runs and drove in 80 runs for the Mariners last season, but turned down a $14.1 million qualifying offer from Seattle to become a free agent. "Hes a professional hitter," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said. "He gives us the opportunity to stretch out our lineup, so to speak. Hes a nice fit, switch-hitter, hitting behind Robbie (Cano). "He gives us options, what we want to do with (Kyle) Seager, where we want to hit him," McClendon said. "I like it." Morales sat out the first two months of the season while searching for a new deal, signing a pro-rated $12 million contract with the Twins on June 8. But he hit .234 with 11 doubles, one homer and 18 RBIs in 39 games with the Twins, who have faded from contention in the AL Central. The Mariners, who started the day with a half-game lead for the second wild-card spot in the AL, are hoping a return to Safeco Field could help Morales rediscover his swing. Seattle has the best ERA in the majors, but the Mariners offence is 14th in the American League in runs scored. Mariners GM Jack Zduriencik said missing spring training and the first two months of the season has had an impact on Morales slow start. He believes hes close to his hitting stride. "I dont think there is any question about that," Zduriencik said. "I thought it was interesting that he went right to the big leagues but that plays a part in the negotiations. "Nevertheless, when you look at where hes at right now, we know what Kendrys is, we know his career as a hitter, we know what he did here and now that hes in a pennant race and technically has spring training under his belt -- he did it at the major league level -- I think we all feel that Kendrys is going to hit his stride and be the Kendrys Morales we all know," he added. Morales was signed by the Twins to be the everyday designated hitter, but he played a lot of first base while filling in for the injured Joe Mauer. "I think he was a good teammate. I think he was a good influence on some of the players in this clubhouse. He got off to a surprisingly quick start and then cooled off, of course," Twins GM Terry Ryan said. "We gave it a shot. Obviously, our club hasnt responded." In the first sign that the Twins are starting to look at selling some of their veteran pieces to retool for next season, they acquired the 25-year-old Pryor in the exchange. Pryor has appeared in 34 games for the Mariners since 2012, posting a 2.81 ERA. He will report to Triple-A Rochester. Pryor, who once regularly had his pitches clocked at 100 mph, started this season on the disabled list after having surgery to repair a torn right latissimus dorsi muscle. He made one appearance for the Mariners this season. He was 2-2 record with a 5.71 ERA in 34 2-3 innings for Triple-A Tacoma this season. The Twins also recalled infielder Jorge Polanco from Class A Fort Myers. Under Armour Outlet . Ed Lucas singled off Jerry Blevins (2-2) to open the 10th and Christian Yelich walked. After Derek Dietrich bunted the runners over, the Nationals intentionally walked Giancarlo Stanton. Under Armour Curry One Low . -- The Chicago Bears say an MRI taken Monday showed Pro Bowl linebacker Brian Urlacher suffered no major structural damage to his left knee in a season-ending win at Minnesota. http://www.stephencurryshoe.com/under-armour-shoes-on-sale/ua-phenom-proto.html . The Jets are now 5-2 in shootouts on the season. The win snapped Calgarys six-game winless skid, and snapped the Jets four-game home winning streak. The Jets are now 0-2-1 in the second game of back to backs. After their four-game winning streak was snapped Sunday night in Minnesota, the Jets record sits at 10-10-3. The Detroit Lions achieved one of their top goals this off-season, retaining Joique Bell, and took a step toward another one, setting up a meeting with Golden Tate. The Lions and Bell agreed to a $9.3 million, three-year contract, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The person, who said $4.3 million of the contract is guaranteed, spoke Tuesday to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal had not been announced. Detroit is also determined to add a player to complement wide receiver Calvin Johnson. Tate appears to be a good fit. The free agent wide receiver will meet with the Lions, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person, who said Tate was travelling to Detroit on Tuesday night, spoke to AP on condition of anonymity because the visit had not been announced. Tate led the Seattle Seahawks with 64 catches and 898 yards receiving last season, setting career highs in both categories. The former Notre Dame star also scored five touchdowns last season, giving him 15 in his four-year career. "I definitely do not want to play against Seattle, Ill tell you that," Tate said in February after Seattles Super Bowl parade. "I dont want to play against Richard Sherman and Kam Chancellor for sure, but well see. Only time will tell. I think I set myself up regardless if its here -- hopefully its here -- or elsewhere with the way I play the game." Detroit also agreed to a one-year deal with wide receiver Kevin Ogletree, according to another person familiar with negotiations, speaking to AP on condition of anonymity because the deal hadnt been announced. The Lions really wanted Bell back, and can probably find a spot on the roster for Ogletree. Bell had a team-high eight touchdowns rushing last season. He was second to Reggiie Bush with 166 carries for 650 yards rushing for the Lions last year. Under Armour Cheap Shoes. Bell ranked third on the team in each of the last two seasons in Detroit with a combined 105 receptions for 1,032 yards. While Bush gives Detroit a speedy and shifty threat out of the backfield, the 5-foot-11, 220-pound Bell provides much-needed power. He has run for 1,064 yards -- 4.3 yards per carry -- and 11 TDs in two seasons with the Lions. The undrafted free agent from Wayne State University in Detroit played a total of eight games as a rookie in 2010 with the Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles. Bell won the Harlon Hill Trophy as the NCAA Division II Player of the Year after rushing for 2,084 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2009. Eventually, Bell proved he could make the jump to the NFL. The Benton Harbor, Mich., native has found a home with the Lions, who signed him off New Orleans practice squad late in the 2011 season after he bounced around with the Saints, Eagles, Colts and Bills. Ogletree can potentially help Detroit because Nate Burleson was released and Ryan Broyles has struggled to stay healthy. He had 13 receptions for 199 yards and a touchdown in 12 games last season for the Lions, who signed him after Tampa Bay cut him. Ogletree has 78 career receptions for 999 yards and six touchdowns over five seasons, four of which were with the Dallas Cowboys. In free agency or the draft, the Lions are hoping to add a No. 2 receiver -- perhaps Tate -- and a safety to start alongside Glover Quin to replace Burleson and Louis Delmas, both of whom were released this off-season. Delmas has signed with the Miami Dolphins. The Lions would also like to sign Ndamukong Suh to a new contract to avoid having the defensive tackle count more than $20 million against the salary cap this year. HOUSTON - The Houston Texans took care of business against two bad teams. Nike Air Max Thea Print Natural musta miehet Running .Now they are moving on to face much tougher competition, starting with Sundays trip to Indianapolis, a place where theyve never won.Coach Bill OBrien doesnt have to say anything to his team about its history in IndianapolisWere well aware that we have not won there, OBrien said. The Colts are in first place in the AFC South, two games ahead of second-place Houston with three games left in the regular season. The Texans have already won five more games than they did in last years 2-14 season, but are still aiming higher.OBrien and the Texans dont talk about their possibilities for the post-season because they know theres no way theyll get there if they dont focus on each opponent. This game right here is a playoff game, OBrien said. As far as thats concerned, as far as our team, this is a big game.Houston lost to the Colts 33-28 in the first meeting this season after falling behind 24-0 in a disastrous first quarter. The Texans were forced to punt on their first three possessions in that game and the Colts recovered an onside kick to build the big lead.OBrien doesnt like to talk about the past, but he is reminding his team about its struggles in that one.The thing that happened in the last Indianapolis game cannot happen, OBrien said. If it does, we have no chance ... we cant get down like that to a really good football team and expect to win, especially on the road. The Texans have won two games in a row for the first time since the first two weeks of the season and OBrien believes his team has grown since the last game against the Colts. Houston trailed 13-10 at halftime on Sunday before rallying for a 27-13 victory over Jacksonville.I thought our guys came in at halftime and really had a resolve about them that they were going to go out and win the game and that they were going to play better over the last half of the game, OBrien said. I think that has improved over the year. The Texans could have to face Indianapolis without Andre Johnson after the receiver suffered a concussion on a helmet-to-helmet hit on Sunday. OBrien said Johnson will have to go through the concussion protocol and that hell be listed day to day this week.If he cant go the Texans could rely more heavily on slot receiver Damaris Johnson, who has 250 yards receiving and a touchdown in limited action this season. That slot position is a very important position for us, OBrien said. We certainly want it to be more involved probably than it has been this year.Houstons defence was bolstered by the return of cornerback Kareem Jackson, who had missed three games with a knee injury. Its a unit that has been led all season by defensive end J.J. Watt, who had another big game on Sunday. He had three sacks against the Jaguars to give him 14 1/2 this season, which is third in the NFL. He returned a fumble by Andrew Luck for a touchdown and had two sacks the last time Houston played the Colts.OBrien knows that theyll have to try and slow down Luck if they hope to be successful on Sunday.Theyre a very, very good team, OBrien said. They have a great quarterback, great coaching staff. Its a big challenge for us. Its all or nothing for Vancouver Whitecaps. Nike Air Max Thea Hvit . Wednesday night could officially signal the end of the Caps playoff hopes if they dont beat Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field, live on TSN2 (10pm et/7pm pt). The way in which Vancouver twice fought back to draw against Portland at BC Place with two sensational goals from Camilo created a feel-good factor around the club, but unfortunately a point against the Timbers likely wasnt enough. Now the Whitecaps will probably have to win their remaining three matches in order to make the postseason. Its a position nobody expected them to be in when they were within touching distance of the Western Conference summit in mid-July, but a run of just two wins in their last 12 matches has seen the club tumble well outside the top five. Right now its a long shot. Mathematically it is still possible, but extremely unlikely. Theyre six points behind fifth-placed Colorado with three matches remaining for both teams, and they have to play the Rapids twice. The picture will become much clearer on Wednesday as both teams are in action. Colorado goes to San Jose, a team that is also chasing down the Rapids for the final playoff place. The Whitecaps recent road results have been positive, tying in San Jose and winning in Montreal, but with the draw at home to Portland, Martin Rennies men have now won just one of their last six home matches, losing three of them. Ultimately that will cost them their place in the playoffs. Theyve also won just four of 21 matches against Western Conference opposition this season. Thats plenty of points that they have handed to the sides they are competing with. Now they must achieve something they are yet to do in Major League Soccer, just to keep their season alive – win in Seattle. A victory against the Sounders would also move the Whitecaps into first place in the race for the Cascadia Cup, with one match remaining next weekend between Portland and Seattle. Up until July, the Whitecaps hadnt beaten one of their Pacific Northwest rivals in MLS. They managed to put that right by winning against the Sounders at BC Place. A month earlier, they lost 3-2 to an understrength Sounders team in Seattle despite twice taking the lead. So both matches this season have shown the Whitecaps can live with their neighbours from down the I5. Seattle are clearly one of the best teams in the league – especially at home. They will go into Wednesday nights contest anxious to put things right after a shock 5-1 thumping at Colorado on Saturday, a result that was the Sounders heaviest MLS defeat. Seattles squad may be weakened by injuries, suspensions and international call-ups, but they will still go into the match as heavy favourites against a Whitecaps side that will also be missing the likes of Kenny Miller and Darren Mattocks. The Sounders have been pretty much invincible at home. They are currently on the second-longest unbeaten home run in MLS history, not having lost since the opening day of the season when Montreal won 1-0 at CenturyLink. A win for Seattle would clinch them a playoff spot for the fifth successive season since they joined the league in 2009. It would also take them into first place in the chase for the Supporters Shield as the team with the most points over the course of the regular season. If the Whitecaps could pull off a win in Seattle it would be one of their best results since joining Major League Soccer. Thats how big the task is ahead of them. No one expects it, but a 3-0 victory in Montreal three weeks ago also seemed totally unrealistic. Rennies side needs the win. They have to go for it. It should be an intriguing match between two long-standing rivals. Camilo or Hassli? Theres a debate going on about the Whitecaps best goal in Major League Soccer. Is it Camilos super scissors kick from Sunday, or Eric Hasslis wonder-strike in Seattle back in June 2011? Ironically, both goals tied the game for Vancouver at 2-2 and both were scored against Cascadia opposition. I absolutely loved Camilos goal against Portland. It should be MLS Goal of the Year, but in my mind Hasslis is superior. Camilos may have had a bigger impact because of the time of the season and the importance of the match, plus the way it capped off an incredible three minutes of play. But Hasslis goal was a once-in-a-lifetime thing. It was a moment of individual brilliance which was executed to perfection, and quite rightly nominated for the FIFA goal of the year. Hassli should also have won MLS Goal of the Year, but that honour went to Darlington Nagbe from Portland Timbers, leaving most of North America – except those in Portland – questioning the way the league handles the voting for that award. Like Hasslis effort, Camilos goal was also taken superbly, and capped off a great move for the Whitecaps, but I think it comes second to the Frenchman. If you widen the selection to include other competitions, there is also the fantastic volley Hassli scored against Toronto FC in last years Canadian Championship when talking about the best goals of Vancouvers MLS era. Whatever your view on which goal was best, the fact is Whitecaps supporters have been treated to some spectacular strikes in the last few years. With the club set to miss out on postseason play in Major League Soccer, Camilos two-goal performance on Sunday will likely be the highlight of the season. MIAMI -- Running back Knowshon Moreno has agreed to terms on a one-year contract with Miami Dolphins, and they hope hell enliven a ground game that ranked 26th in the NFL last season. UGG Boots Cyber Monday UK DEALS . Moreno, a five-year veteran, had his best season in 2013 when he rushed for 1,038 yards, caught 60 passes and scored 13 touchdowns playing with Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. He ranked fifth in the NFL with 1,586 yards from scrimmage, and tied for fourth with 10 rushing touchdowns. Montee Ball, a rookie last year, made Moreno expendable in Denver. Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas were the Dolphins primary ball carriers last season, and both remain on the roster. Moreno has a career average of 4.1 yards per carry, compared to 4.2 for Miller and 3.6 for Thomas. The Dolphins offensive line has been a big reason for their sputtering ground game. The unit also gave up a franchise-record 58 sacks and was rocked by the teams bullying scandal last year. Centre Mike Pouncey is the lone holdover in the line, and while the Dolphins added left tackle Branden Albert, theyre still shopping for upgrades at guard and right tackle. Denver made Moreno the 12th overall pick in the 2009 draft after he played at Georgia. He has career rushing totals of 3,468 yards and 26 touchdowns. Moreno became a social media sensation he cried during the national anthem before a game in December. He has been slowed by injuries and has played in all 16 games just twice in his career. Shaun Miller headed a dramatic winner for the third-tier club just a minute before the end of extra time of a particularly dour contest in the rain at Craven Cottage. United, which claimed its second Premier League scalp of the campaign after knocking out Aston Villa in the third round, is second from bottom in League One.CLEVELAND -- Michael Brantley did just about everything for the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday night. The first-time All-Star homered and had three RBIs and Nick Swisher hit a go-ahead two-run shot in the sixth, leading Cleveland to a 5-3 victory over Masahiro Tanaka and the New York Yankees. The Indians stopped Tanakas bid to become the major leagues first 13-game winner. The rookie All-Star right-hander (12-4) allowed season worsts of five runs and 10 hits in 6 2-3 innings. But the night belonged to Brantley, who hit a leadoff homer in the seventh and had RBI doubles in the first and fifth, raising his average to .328. He also ran down Derek Jeters fly ball to deep centre on the warning track in the first when New York scored twice. "Hes a pretty good player, and hes getting better," Indians manager Terry Francona said with a smile. Brantley has 14 homers and 60 RBIs, both team highs. He also is tied for the AL lead with 10 outfield assists. "Hes a young player thats really developed into one of the better outfielders in the game all-around," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "And he showed why tonight. Its why hes an All-Star." Brantley chose to focus on the win more than his personal performance. "We did a great job as a team having quality at-bats all night," he said. "I was trying to get mistake pitches. I was lucky enough to get a couple of balls out over the plate and get good swings on them." Tanaka, who lost for the third time in four starts, took a 3-2 lead into the sixth before Swisher, a former Yankee, put Cleveland on top. "It was the first time weve ever seen him," Swisher said. "The first couple of at-bats youre kind of feeling him out. In that situation from the scouting reports and video weve seen, he loves that split-slider. When I got in that two-strike count, hed been burying that split all day long. For me, I was just lucky enough for him to hang that one." Lonnie Chisenhall started the sixth with a single. Swisher then homered on a 1-2 pitch. Trevor Bauer (3-4) allowed three runs in seven innings and retired 13 of the last 14 hitters he faced. New Yorks only baserunner in that stretch came on Swishers fifth-inning error. Bauer struck out six and walked two in winning for the first time since June 16. UGG Boots Black Friday UK Deals. Cody Allen pitched the ninth for his 10th save. The Yankees were held to four hits, none after Brian McCanns one-out single in the third. The Indians committed three errors, giving them a major league-high 75 for the season. Swisher heard boos from the crowd earlier in the game after going 0 for 2 and having a routine groundball go through his legs. Tanaka allowed a run in a 25-pitch first inning and gave up two hits in the second. He retired seven straight before allowing a run in the fifth when Brantley had a two-out double after Chris Dickerson led off with a single. Tanaka struck out five and walked one. "He did get on a roll in innings three, four and five and then the mistakes kind of caught up to him," Girardi said. "It happens, we know hes not going to be perfect, we understand that. We know how good hes been but we know hes not going to be perfect." New York scored twice in the first on Mark Teixerias RBI single and a throwing error by catcher Yan Gomes. Brett Gardner added a run-scoring groundout in the second. Jason Kipnis started the first with a single, stole second and scored when Brantley doubled to right. Gardner walked to start the game and moved to second on Jacoby Ellsburys single. Dickerson attempted a diving catch of Teixerias bloop hit, but the ball deflected off his glove and rolled toward centre, allowing Gardner to score. New York pulled a double steal when McCann struck out swinging. Gomes throw to second went into centre field and Ellsbury scored. Teixerias stolen base was his first of the season. NOTES: RHP Brandon McCarthy (3-10) will make his Yankees debut Wednesday night. He was acquired from Arizona on Sunday. "Its the Yankees," he said. "Its a team thats in contention. Its a team thats known for winning, theres really no other answer than its just the Yankees." ... The Indians recalled C Roberto Perez and LHP Nick Hagadone from Triple-A Columbus. ... Yankees OF Carlos Beltran (soreness behind right knee) was out of the lineup for the second straight game. ...
