HAMILTON, Ont. Rodrigo Palacio Inter Milan Jersey . -- The Hamilton Tiger-Cats signed defensive back Mike Daly and fullback Isaac Dell on Friday. Hamilton selected both players in the 2013 CFL draft. Daly amassed 95 tackles and 10 interceptions during his college career at McMaster. Hamilton selected the three-time OUA all-star in the sixth round, No. 45 overall, in last years draft. Dell had 907 total yards (200 rushing, 707 receiving) in five seasons at Wilfrid Laurier. Dell, taken in the fifth round, No. 37 overall by Hamilton, served as the Golden Hawks captain for the last three seasons. Caner Erkin Inter Milan Jersey . So true. It is one thing to create a winning football team, and another to keep it winning. Each and every week it changes. The NFL creates a unique interest of not who is "the best", but much more who is "the best this week". Felipe Melo Jersey . The (35-35-10) Jets have 80 points and are also playing .500 hockey on home ice this season with a 17-17-6 record. Michael Hutchinson will start his second straight game in goal. http://www.soccerintermilanfcteamshop.us/Andrea-Ranocchia-Inter-Milan-Jersey/ . It has been eleven years, eight months, and 261 days since I played my last CFL game.ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- David Price overcame two homers and getting hit in his protective cup by a lin1er in the fourth inning to throw hs first complete game of the season. Price allowed six hits, David DeJesus drove in three runs, and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Minnesota Twins 7-3 on Tuesday night. "I thought his fastball was actually better towards the end of the game," Rays manager Joe Maddon said. "Im always looking at those kind of signs. Velocity was good. Strike throwing was good. Delivery was good. Everything looked like it was in order." Price (3-1) struck out 12 and walked one in his ninth career complete game. "He made it tough on us," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "A lot of strikeouts." The Twins got homers in the fourth from Brian Dozier and Chris Colabello, the same inning Price was struck by Joe Mauers liner. "I dont know how I didnt really feel it, or it didnt break my cup," Price said. "Im extremely lucky. If that ball is two feet up, its in my face or my throat. I was very fortunate." DeJesus stopped an 0 for 24 skid with an RBI single during a three-run first and added a third-inning two-run single. Kyle Gibson (3-1) gave up seven runs and 10 hits in three-plus innings for Minnesota. The right-hander had given up just two runs over 19 1-3 innings in his three other starts this year. The game was delayed 1:47 in the fifth when the umpires used replay to review the count on Tampa Bays Yunel Escobar and still ended up with incorrect information after the review. The umpires said the count was 3-2 when in fact Escobar had taken four balls. Escobar then struck out on a 4-2 pitch. "An error was made when replay officials and supervisors mistakenly thought one of the pitches was a foul ball when it was actually a ball," MLB said in a statement. Both managers thoughht Escobar had drawn a walk. Rey Manaj Jersey. "I dont know. Strike five, Strike six," Gardenhire said. "I know there was a ball four somewhere in there. We all had ball four, but I was really happy with that, 3-2 is way better." Maddon joked that he thought he was seeing thing. "We just came off a day off," Maddon said. "It might have messed me up." James Loney drove in two on a single and DeJesus had an RBI hit as the Rays went up 3-0 in the first. Tampa Bay was aided when shortstop Pedro Florimon missed Matt Joyces pop fly in the roof that dropped for an infield single and two walks. DeJesus put Tampa Bay ahead 5-0 on a two-run single in the third. Joyce hit a two-double in the fourth. Price retired his first nine batters, six coming on strikeouts, before Dozier opened the fourth with his sixth homer of the season. Later in the inning Colabello made it 5-3 on a two-run shot. Colabello has 22 RBIs in 19 games this season. Price was coming off a 10-2 loss Thursday to the New York Yankees in which he gave up six runs and 10 hits in five innings. NOTES: Gardenhire on the lack of arguing with umpires this season due to expanded replay: "My face hasnt gotten red, really, one time all year, and thats not much fun." Gardenhire does feel that replay will help the game. ... Tampa Bay LHP Matt Moore had left elbow ligament replacement surgery and could be sidelined 12 to 15 months. ... The Rays activated RHP Juan Carlos Oviedo (right elbow surgery) from the 15-day disabled list. The reliever last pitched in the majors in 2011 when he was known as Leo Nunez and had 36 saves for Miami. ... Tampa Bay CF Desmond Jennings (groin) returned after being out of the starting lineup the previous three games. ... Twins RHP Mike Pelfrey (0-2) and Rays RHP Jake Odorizzi (1-2) are Wednesday nights scheduled starters. LOS ANGELES -- The Clippers expected theyd be better once Chris Paul returned to the lineup. Antonio Garcia Patriots Jersey . They just probably couldnt have imagined how much. Blake Griffin had 26 points, 11 rebounds and six assists Sunday night as Los Angeles stormed out to a 31-point lead in the first quarter with its All-Star point guard back on the court and pummeled the Philadelphia 76ers 123-78. "It felt great just to play. You never know what its going to be like until you actually get out there and compete," Paul said. "A lot of things go through your mind out there, especially when you come back because you want to make sure youre not too tired and not trying too hard. But at the same time, weve been playing extremely well and I didnt want to break up our rhythm." Jamal Crawford scored 21 for the defending Pacific Division champions, who were 12-6 while Paul was sidelined with a right shoulder he separated Jan. 3 at Dallas. The seven-time All-Star point guard showed no signs of rust, getting seven points and eight assists in 23 minutes. "He set the tone," Crawford said. "The energy from when he was introduced, to the level of play that he brings, it makes everybody better." DeAndre Jordan had 20 rebounds and 10 points, helping Los Angeles increase its division lead over idle Phoenix to four games. The 45-point margin of victory was the largest for the Clippers franchise. The previous record was 39, set in a 121-82 win over Chicago on Nov. 24 at Staples Center. "Thats an intense, defensive-oriented athletic type of team. We ran into a buzz saw and we got jumped early," Sixers coach Brett Brown said. "What an incredible opportunity for a young point guard like Michael Carter-Williams to see Chris Paul play and to play against him." Carter-Williams, who leads all rookies in scoring, rebounding and assists per game, finished with 14 points, five assists and seven boards in 34 1/2 minutes. Tony Wroten scored 21 points off the bench for the 76ers, losers of six straight and 13 of 16. Center Spencer Hawes missed all eight shots in 23 scoreless minutes and had just two rebounds. Pauls return provided an instant spark, as the Clippers opened the game with a 13-0 run that included a pair of 3-pointers by Crawford off Philadelphia turnovers. They widened the gap to 30-5 while the 76ers missed 17 of their first 19 shots. Griffin limped to the dressing room with a bruised left shin after Wroten fell into him on a foul by Jordan with less 3 minutes left in the opening period. But the four-time All-Star returned to the bench before the teams highest-scoring quarter of the season ended, and Willie Green put an exclamation point on it with a 3 from the left corner to give Los Angeles a 46-15 cushion. Griffin and teammate Antawn Jamison shared a laugh on the bench as Wroten went to the foul line, trying to cut into a 54-17 deficit about 3 minutes into the second quarter. By then, it hardly seemed to matter to the sellout crowd that Clippers starting forward J.J. Redick missed his third straight game with a sore right hip. It was a laugher the whole way. "Our defence really set the tone," Crawford said. "When were covering for each other like that and playing together, it makes it tough on other teams and kind of breaks their rhythm." Griffin showed no hint of any ankle issues after his mishap -- particularly during a Showtime-like sequence in the second quarter. Paul went in alone on a fast break with Griffin trailing the play, then bounced the ball off the glass and Griffin sent the crowd into a frenzy with the first of back-to-back windmill dunks 27 seconds apart. That made it 60-21 with 4:46 left in the first half. "I think our guys have tried that in a one-point game. Thats the problem," coach Doc Rivers said. "But thats who they are, and I dont want to take the joy away -- as long as theres no turnovers with it." Philadelphia never challenged after the Clippers built a 69-30 halftime lead. Crawfords 15-footer gave them their biggest margin, 89-33, with 6:01 left in the third quarter. It was 100-51 going into the fourth. Before Sunday, the Clippers had never beaten Philadelphia by more than 29 points since the franchises first played in 1970-71. NOTES: The Clippers shot 56.2 per cent and the Sixers 27.0 -- going 3 for 28 from 3-point range. ... The Clippers are 10-1 against teams that are currently in last place in their respective divisions. The only blemish was a 98-80 loss at Orlando on Nov. 6. Antonio Garcia Jersey . The 25-year-old Brazilian player has only made four Premier League appearances for United this season and underwent a medical test in Italy on Friday. Derek Rivers Jersey . Following their overtime victory in Game 1 last night, the Canadiens were back on the ice Thursday in Tampa, with the main focus of practice once again on special teams, as the team tries to crack an 0-for-25 power play slump over the past nine games, and 0-for-16 against the Lightning this season. Despite the lack of success with the man advantage, Montreal holds the series lead thanks in much part to the work of the fourth line, which features rookie Michael Bournival, grinder Dale Weise and playoff veteran Daniel Briere. That was the line which generated the game winning goal last night. It was a play where Weise still admits his eyes opened up when he saw the pass coming from Briere. The assist on the goal gives Briere 110 career playoff points, which ranks him third in career post-season points among players in this years playoffs; Marian Hossa has 113, while Henrik Zetterberg leads the way with 114. In a fun side note, Briere had an on-going battle all night with Lightning forward Cederic Paquette, who played junior hockey with the Blainvillle-Boisbriand Armada, a team in which Briere has a stake in ownership. Derek Rivers Patriots Jersey. All four lines got in on the scoring for Montreal last night with goals from Tomas Plekanec, Brian Gionta, Thomas Vanek, Lars Eller and Weise. For Gionta, it marked his third career shorthanded playoff goal. He last scored shorthanded for the Devils in the 2006 playoffs. The Habs captain has 32 career playoff goals in 96 games. Eller recorded his first playoff goal and his second marker over his past three games. Michel Therrien moved into a tie for 58th all-time with Terry Crisp, Al MacNeil and Harry Sinden for playoff games coached, while tying Mike Milbury at 58th for all-time playoff wins with his 23. Travis Moen practiced with the team for the second time this week, but will not play in Game 2. The Canadiens arent expected to make any line-up changes for tomorrow night. Game 2 of the Canadiens-Lightning can be heard Live on TSN 690 Montreal, TSN 1050 Toronto, TSN 1200 Ottawa, TSN 1290 Winnipeg and Team 1410 Vancouver at 7pm ET/4pm PT. ALAMEDA, Calif. Takkarist McKinley Falcons Jersey . -- Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor will miss Sundays game in Houston because of a sprained right knee. The Raiders ruled out Pryor on Saturday and announced that undrafted rookie free agent Matt McGloin will start against the Texans. Pryor had a setback at practice on Friday and had been listed as questionable. He leads all NFL quarterbacks with 504 yards rushing. But he wore a thick brace over his knee during last weeks 24-20 loss to the New York Giants when he was held to a season-low 19 yards on the ground and sacked four times. McGloin was 7 for 15 for 87 yards in relief of Pryor against the Eagles in Week 9 in his first game action of his career. He will be the 17th quarterback to start for Oakland since the start of the 2003 season. The Raiders also promoted rookie Tyler Wilson from the practice squad to back up McGloin and waived defensive end Brian Sanford. Wilson was a fourth-round pick but was beaten out for a roster spot by McGloin. McGloin entered training camp fourth on the depth chart. He was originally a walk-on at Penn State before setting the school record for career touchdown passes. "What can you say about Matt McGloin? Having been in that league, I know it takes a smart guy, it takes a competitive guy, it takes a guy that does the same thing every day," said Penn State coach Bill OBrien, the former offensive co-ordinator for the New England Patriots. "He works at it. Hes in the office early, he leaves late. Thats what Matt is. Everything Matt gets, he deserves because he works for it. Its going to be fun to watch him play." McGloin will start against another undrafted free agent in Houstons Case Keenum. This marks the first time since 2011 that two undrafted free agent quarterbacks started against each other. Kansas Citys Tyler Palko faced Chicagos Caleb Hanie on Dec. 4 that year, and Miamis Matt Moore faced Dallas Tony Romo on Nov. 24. Disregarding the strike year in 1987, this will be just the second time two undrafted quarterbacks in their first year in the NFL started against each other, according to STATS LLC. The only other time it happened came on Dec. 1, 1985, when Dieter Brock of the Los Angeles Rams faced Bobby Hebert of the New Orleans Saints. Takkarist McKinley Womens Jersey . HUMBLE, Texas -- Phil Mickelson did more than prove to just himself that hes ready for next weeks Masters on Thursday. The five-time major winner showed to everyone that hes fully recovered from last weeks muscle pull and likely to be a factor in this weeks Houston Open as well. Without so much as a practice round this week at the 7,441-yard Golf Club of Houston, Mickelson opened with a 4-under par 68 and was among the leaders following Thursdays opening round. The bogey-free performance was a far cry from last week when Mickelson was forced to withdraw during the third round in San Antonio after pulling a muscle in his right side "Im surprised because I was worried about the Masters," Mickelson said. "I was certainly worried about Houston, but it healed a lot quicker. I felt great today; didnt feel any pain or discomfort and didnt even think about it." Mickelson is three shots back of first-round co-leaders Bill Haas and Charley Hoffman, both who finished at 7 under. Hass had five birdies on his back nine, while Hoffman needed just 27 putts to earn a share of the lead. Keegan Bradley and Matt Kuchar lead a group of five golfers at 6 under. J.B. Holmes, Erik Compton and Jim Renner are also at 6 under, with 10 golfers are at 5 under. Of the 144 players in the field, 113 finished at even par or under on an overcast and occasionally misty day. "The greens are absolutely perfect," Haas said. "... I think the scores are reflective on that. They were a little slower, but part of that, too, is the weather. It was like a little dewy mist out there all day, which played a part in the speed of the greens." Mickelson and Bradley were part of a threesome with Webb Simpson, who also finished 4 under. All three players in the group navigated the course without a bogey in their morning rounds. Former world No. 1 Rory McIlroy, playing in the afternoon and one of the five top-10 players in the world in the tournament, finished withh a 2-under 70. Sean Harlow Falcons Jersey. While Haas and Hoffman shared the lead after Thursdays play, it was Mickelson -- who was forced to withdraw during last weeks third round in San Antonio after pulling a muscle in his right side -- who was the centre of attention leading into next week at Augusta National. Mickelson has won the Masters three times, the latest coming in 2010, but his status was in doubt following last weeks injury. The left-hander, however, underwent treatment in the days following his departure from San Antonio -- along with fitting in two days of light practice at Augusta National -- and appeared in top ball-striking form on Thursday. "One of the things I really worked on hard today was staying focused on each shot," Mickelson said. "... I needed to play here this week and really challenge myself in that regard to give myself the best chance for next week." Opening on the back nine at the former Redstone Golf Club, which was renamed the Gold Club of Houston following an ownership change, Mickelson was bogey free despite needing 31 putts. He made the turn at 2 under following a 16-foot birdie putt on the par-4 18th, and he birdied both of the par 5s on his back nine to put himself squarely in contention. Mickelson won the Houston Open in 2011, and the courses Masters-like setup -- including slick greens and tight rough -- is a key reason hes returned every year since. "He was striking it, he was hitting it long and great," Bradley said of Mickelson. "... He seems like it was feeling a lot better today than it was in San Antonio." Kuchar, who finished tied for fourth at last weeks Texas Open, had three straight birdies in the middle of his round on Thursday -- highlighted by a 47-foot birdie putt on the 445-yard par-4 second hole. McIlroy, one of five of the top 10 players in the world in the field, was as low as 3 under before a pair of bogeys on the back nine. World No. 10 Dustin Johnson withdrew following an opening 8-over par 80. MINNEAPOLIS - When the Minnesota Timberwolves walk into Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, they will be staring their former franchise player right in the face for the first time since he was traded last summer. Miguel Monteiro Portugal Jersey .Kevin Love has moved on after six frustrating seasons in Minnesota, and Timberwolves president and coach Flip Saunders said he harbours no grudges against him for asking to be traded. But Saunders cant say the same for Timberwolves fans.Minnesota people are pretty loyal. You turn on Minnesota, they dont forgive you, Saunders said after practice on Monday. So I think people probably appreciated him while he was here. But you leave under the terms that he did, just the way Minnesota people are, theyre not pretty forgiving along those lines.Love made three All-Star teams in six seasons with the Wolves, including being voted a starter last year. He worked tirelessly to change his body and improve his game and became a pillar in the community by reaching out to fans and organizing a coat drive every winter. But things started to sour in 2012 when previous president of basketball operations David Kahn declined to offer him a full, maximum five-year contract extension. An infuriated Love signed a four-year deal with an opt-out after three seasons and never forgave Kahn or Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor for the slight.Saunders replaced Kahn in 2013 and spent all last season trying to convince Love to stay. But the damage was already done.He was pretty much set in stone the minute he got his four-year contract, Saunders said. At least thats what he says.Love wanted to play for a winner after six straight seasons of missing the playoffs. When LeBron James decided to return home to Cleveland, the Cavaliers engaged in a deal that sent the No. 1 overall picks from the two previous drafts — Andrew Wiggins and Anthony Bennett — to Minnesota team Love with James and Kyrie Irving in a formidable new trio of stars. The Wolves also received Thaddeus Young from Philadelphia in the three-team deal and were determined to use a mixture of veterans and dynamic youngsters to try to at least equal the 40 victories they had last year in Loves final season. But the teams three best players — Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic and Kevin Martin — have played in 23 combined games due to injuries. So the young Wolves (5-21) have sunk to the bottom of the Western Conference. Its tough to judge because I do believe all of our young guys will be a lot better when we get those other guys back, Saunders said.Wiggins has shown flashes of jaw-dropping ability on both ends of the court and is the front-runner for rookie of the year now that Milwaukees Jabari Parker is out with a knee injury. But he has also frustrated Saunders at times with inconsistent effort in games, and the coach is trying to coax higher energy out of the prized piece of the Love haul. Our young guys have probably hit the wall a little bit with the way our schedules been and how much theyve had to play and the responsibility theyve had to play with, Saunders said. Theyre probably as mentally drained as they are physically. The Cavaliers have been mostly healthy, but are having their own issues. At 16-10 and fifth in the lacklustre Eastern Conference, they have not jelled as quickly as anticipated under first-year head coach David Blatt. Loves averages of 16.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 12.5 shots per game are his lowest since his second year in the league as he gets used to life as a supporting actor in James movie.Saunders said he expected Wiggins and Bennett to have a little extra motivation going into the game on Tuesday night against the team that traded them.Theres always motivation, Wiggins said. I think thats obvious.Does he feel any connection to the Cavaliers organization? No, Wiggins said with a chuckle. I was there for like three days,Even though wins are hard to come by, Wiggins reiterated that Minnesota is a better situation for him at this point in his career.Im being put in a bigger position, a bigger role here than I wouldve been on that team, Wiggins said. Thats just helping me grow more mentally and physically.Whatever happens on Tuesday night, the real test will come Jan. 31, when Love returns to Minnesota. Kevin Garnett received a thunderous standing ovation from a sold out Target Center crowd in his first game back with Boston after he was traded in 2007, but Saunders thinks Loves return will be different. They know KG stayed many times. He stayed when things were tough, didnt run from the situation, Saunders said. He turned down trades three times to go to Boston and finally the organization had to convince Kevin to take the trade. Yaya Toure set City on its way with a third-minute penalty at Etihad Stadium before Rickie Lambert equalized with a spot kick of his own in the 37th. Samir Nasri and Edin Dzeko both scored in first-half injury time for City. The hosts added an 81st-minute fourth goal through Stevan Jovetic to gain three points that put the team a point behind leader Liverpool, with City having played a game less. Liverpool visits West Ham on Sunday and then hosts City in a crucial game in the title race next weekend. City will clinch a second league title in three years by winning its remaining seven matches. Rodriguezs chances of playing in the World Cup were jeopardized after he was carried off on a stretcher with a knee injury midway through the first half, having landed badly as he jumped to control the ball. He is one of the in-form strikers in the Premier League and is likely to be in England manager Roy Hodgsons plans for Brazil. " Southampton was comfortably second best after the break but had City in some trouble at 1-1 after Lamberts 34th straight successful penalty for the club. The turning point of the match arguably was Citys second goal, which arrived when David Silva received a pass when he was in an offside position before crossing for Nasri to apply a simple finish. "The linesman killed off the game, its clear," Pochettino said. Toure scored Citys opener after Dzeko was adjudged to have been fouled by Jose Fonte, and Dzeko almost doubled the lead when he headed against the bar from Nasris cross. Southamptons penalty came after Jack Cork was carelessly tripped by Pablo Zabaleta as he burst into the box and the visitors impressed until Citys two-goal counter-punch in injury time. Jovetic came on for Silva to add the fourth, tapping home from a cross by Jesus Navas, and there was still time for Toure to strike a shot against the post from the edge of box. "We knew it was going to be a big game and a very difficult one, so we take a lot of positives and confidence out of this game," City captain Vincent Kompany said. "Not many teams will dominate a game against Southampton." Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

Gordon went 4 for 4 with a pair of three-run homers and a career-high six RBIs as the Kansas City Royals beat the Baltimore Orioles 8-6. Gordon drove a 1-1 pitch from Ubaldo Jimenez (2-5) out to right with two outs in the fifth with Nori Aoki and Billy Butler aboard. Gordon, who led the Royals with 20 home runs last year, had gone 134 at-bats without a home run. Gordon homered in his next at-bat, a three-run shot off left-hander Troy Patton in the seventh after Eric Hosmer walked and Butler doubled for his third hit. The Kauffman Stadium crowd then gave Gordon a lengthy standing ovation, calling him out of the dugout. Gordon said he had "never" had a curtain call. "I didnt know what to do," Gordon said. "They told me just to go wave my helmet. They just started yelling at me. I was downstairs enjoying the moment. They told me to come up and give the crowd a wave. It was my first. Hopefully, its not the last. It was pretty cool. Its something I want forget. "Its fun when we play like this and the crowd starts doing what they do. It makes it really exciting." It was Gordons third career multi-homer game. His six RBIs matched a Royals season high. His four hits matched a career high, the 10th time he has accomplished that. "Even though I was making good pitches, they found a way to hit the ball hard. I felt really good and I made a lot of good pitches," Jimenez said. "They had a good approach. I threw a lot of sinkers down and they found the hole every time. They had a really good game. Theres nothing I can do but move on." Gordons second homer turned out to be necessary. Adam Jones hit a three-run homer off Royals reliever Aaron Crow in the ninth. It was the first runs Crow allowed in 20 relief appearances and 17 innings. Greg Holland got the final two outs for his 12th save in 13 appearances. "I was making my pitches, trying to get a double play that inning and they were just finding some good holes." Jimenez, who was 2-0 with a 0.46 ERA in his first three May starts, was pulled after five innings. He permitted five runs on eight hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. "The pitch to Gordon was uncharacteristic," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "He had, really, just the one (bad) pitch to Gordon. He tried to go down and away, and it came back in and came into a sweet spot. He hadnt walked anybody to that point, either. Except for one pitch I thought he was good. After the first inning he was pretty crisp." Nick Markakis singled home J.J. Hardy, who had three hits, and David Lough in the Orioles third. Manny Machado, who had three hits, had a sacrifice fly in the third to score Jonathan Schoop for the other run off Shields. LAKE FOREST, Ill. Martin Prado Jersey . -- Jim Furyk crouched to study the 3 feet of green between his ball and the cup, a short distance with such large implications. He thought back to a similar putt -- slightly downhill, sliding to the right -- that he made the last time he won a tournament three long years ago. That one at the Tour Championship was worth $10 million. Friday at the BMW Championship, it was for a piece of golf history. Furyk capped off a magical day at Conway Farms with a birdie on his last hole to become the sixth player in PGA Tour history to shoot 59. And with a bogey on his card, no less. "I guess the moment kind of struck me the most at No. 9 when I hit the wedge shot in there close, and the crowd erupted and I started looking around and it just hit me how many people had come over to that side to see the finish and how excited the crowd was," Furyk said. "It was kind of like winning a golf tournament, to be honest with you. It made it that much more fun." It was a day he wont forget, in the same town -- the Chicago suburbs, anyway -- where he won his lone major at the U.S. Open in 2003. After starting his round on No. 10, Furyk stood in the ninth fairway, 103 yards away and a gap wedge in his hand, and realized what was at stake. "I said, How many opportunities are you going to have in life to do this again?" he said. "Got to take advantage of it. Tried to knock it in there tight and make it as easy on yourself as you can." The gallery lined both sides of the fairway about 150 yards down from the green and gave him a huge ovation when he walked onto the green. One fan screamed out, "Jimmy, Ill give it to you!" Furyk smiled and waved at him as if he were more than willing to pick it up. He rolled it in and repeatedly pumped his fist, turning for the gallery in the grandstands to see, and then he hugged caddie Mike "Fluff" Cowan and tapped him on the head. It looked like a Sunday afternoon, and had the occasion of a winning putt. Theres work left for the trophy. Furyk was tied for the lead with Brandt Snedeker, who was nine shots clear of Furyk at the start of the second round and shot 68. Snedeker knew Furyk was closing in on the lead; he just didnt realize Furyk had opened with a 1-over 72 and was on his way to a piece of history. That changed when Snedeker saw a video board as he was finishing on No. 18 that Furyk needed a birdie on No. 9 for a 59. "I thought, What the heck? Are you serious? Theres no way," Snedeker said. "On a day like this when the wind is blowing 20 mph out of the north, I dont think anybody out here saw that score coming." The next best score in the second round was a 65 by Jordan Spieth and Jimmy Walker. Zach Johnson was alone in third after a 70, three shots behind. No one else was closer than five shots. Tiger Woods thought he finished with a 70 to be five back, only to be given a two-shot penalty when video showed his ball moved while he was removing twigs around it on the first hole. That gave him a quadruple-bogey 8 on the opening hole and a 72, leaving him seven shots behind -- and paired with Sergio Garcia in the third round. David Hearn of Brantford, Ont., is nine strokes back after a 68, while Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., stumbled to 1 over with a 73. It was the first 59 on the PGA Tour since Stuart Appleby in the final round of The Greenbrier Classic in 2010. The others with a 59 were Al Geiberger in the 1977 Memphis Classic; Chip Beck in the 1991 Las Vegas Invitational; David Duval in the 1999 Bob Hope Classic; and Paul Goydos in the 2010 John Deere Classic. "Theres not much I could have improved on today," Furyk said. For a change, everything went right at the end. Furyk has been haunted in the last two years with a bogey on the 16th hole that cost him a shot at the 2012 U.S. Open; a double bogey at Firestone last year that kept him from winning a World Golf Championship; a bogey-bogey finish in the Ryder Cup to lose a key match to Garcia last year in Chicago; and a one-shot lead he failed to hold just last month at the PGA Championship. Making it worse, he was left off a U.S. team for the first time in 15 years when Presidents Cup captain Fred Couples did not make him a wild-card selection. On this day, Furyk gave Couples 59 reasons to reconsider. Furyk described himself as "grouchy" on Thursday after having breakfast with two friends, Steve Stricker and Johnson, who were talking about the Presidents Cup. "But I felt like last night I kind of kicked myself in the rear end and said, You know, its done with. Its over with. Theres nothing I can do to change it now. Its over and lets just focus on this week." Furyk was striking the ball so well in the windy conditions -- he hit every fairway and missed only one green -- that he made only three putts longer than 12 feet, including a 15-foot par putt on the 16th hole. He opened with three straight birdies, holed out from the fairway on the 15th for an eagle, finished with two birdies and had a 28 on his card. Furyk realized a 4 under on the front nine would give him golfs magic number. It looked promising when he rolled in a 25-foot birdie on the third, and his 4-iron on the fourth hole bounced toward the flag and settled 5 feet away. He was 11 under through 13 holes, needing one more birdie. And then he three-putted for bogey from 30 feet. The key to his round might have come at No. 7, when he holed a birdie putt from just inside 12 feet to get back to 11 under. Two holes, one birdie, and a 59. Even in the FedEx Cup playoffs, the math was that simple. And he knew with a par 5 at the eighth and a front pin on the ninth, he would have two good chances. He came up short of the green on No. 8 and made par, and then played the ninth to perfection. Brian Davis, who had finished an hour earlier, came back to the ninth green to watch Furyk finish. Johnson finished when Furyk still had two holes to play and was told about his bid for 59. "Hes on No. 8 to go to 59? I dont have anything to say about that. That is ridiculous," Johnson said. Furyk signed his glove with "59" and put the date beneath his signature for the World Golf Hall of Fame. He signed leftover golf balls for the volunteers helping his group. And then, he reached into his pocket and pulled out another golf ball. "Thats the one that went in on 9," he said with a grin. "And its staying with me." Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn.ca. Hey Kerry, Can you clarify something for me please? On every draw taken by Jonathan Toews, Ive noticed that as soon as the first stick touches the ice (his own on the road and the opponents at home) he simultaneously turns his body and moves his left foot forward, positioning it in front of his opponents right foot immediately before the puck is dropped. This allows him to basically block out the opposing player before the puck is even dropped. How is this not considered to be encroaching (or jumping early) on the faceoff? To me, hes basically being allowed an advantage by getting a head start so to speak on the draw. Keep it up Mr. Fraser! Kyle ShermanWestlake Village, CA Kyle: I did not take your claim lightly that Jonathan Toews cheats on every faceoff, so I examined consecutive faceoffs in an objective manner that the Hawks captain was involved in during the first period of Wednesday nights game. You might be surprised to learn (which I wasnt at all) that the centres from both teams were cheating every chance they could get and as much as the linesmen allowed! There was considerable stick movement regardless of which player placed his stick on the ice first (especially from Jarret Stoll who utilizes a quick stick tap up and down to be in motion when the linesman releases the puck). So put your stick down and your skates squared up on each side of the lines Kyle because this is what transpired: 1) Opening faceoff: Toews set up with open stance to the right before the referee Marc Joannette moved into position to drop the puck. Toews won the opening faceoff cleanly over Anze Kopitar and the Hawks puck possession and attack led to Drew Doughty being called for tripping Toews. 2) As a result of the Kings penalty, Toews took the draw to the right side of Jonathan Quick. From this location, the Hawks captain wanted to draw the puck back to his left. Both Toews and Stoll line up with their feet square on each side of the markings. Toews puts his stick on the ice first butt then picks it up as Stoll comes down with an effort to time the drop. Dee Gordon Marlins Jersey. The linesman puts the puck in and both centres tie up but Toews wins the puck back from the scrum. This puck possession results in a Hawk power play goal by Brent Seabrook. 3) Toews set up square for a Hawks attacking zone left side draw back. Stoll demonstrates a dramatic set to the right with his skates. Jonathan Toews wins the draw cleanly back for another Hawks attacking zone puck possession. 4) Toews lost a neutral zone faceoff as he set up square while Anze Kopitar was twisted to the right. Kopitar won the draw to the sidewall and created a Kings entry into the Hawks zone (First commercial timeout then resulted). 5) Centre ice faceoff following Jarret Stoll goal which saw both Jonathan Toews and Anze Kopitar dramatically twisted as they lined up. Both players moved to gain the benefit of a timed drop. Toews was faster and more dramatic but Kopitar won the draw back and Kings controlled. 6) With 7:10 remaining in the period and a Hawks end zone left side faceoff, Jarret Stoll places his stick on the ice first and does a stick tap up and down to gain momentum as Toews comes down and then up with his stick. Both players attempted to gain the benefit of this timed drop but Stoll was clearly twisted to his right with movement and won the draw back as the Kings controlled the puck in their attacking zone. The linesman fell to the ice and was likely fined a "six-pack." Play went end to end until Marian Gaborik scored on a terrific pass from Anze Kopitar. I think you get the picture by now Kyle. Jonathan Toews is not the only centre thats rotating his left skate in advance of the puck drop; there is cheating on both sides of the faceoff circle! What you have highlighted Kyle is the need for the linesmen to be more diligent in squaring the centres as they get set to drop the puck and not allow a player to swing or move his stick to gain the benefit of a "timed drop". Puck possession off an end zone can be a huge factor in the outcome of a game. Thank you for pointing this out! WILKES-BARRE, Pa. Lucas Digne Jersey . -- Will ONeill is making a name for himself in the American Hockey Leagues Calder Cup playoffs. The second-year pro is tied for the league lead with 10 post-season assists. Hes playing key minutes for a defence that is allowing fewer than two goals a game. Just about the only thing missing from his resume was a goal. ONeill fixed that in a dramatic way Thursday night, breaking a scoreless tie late in the second period and assisting on the winner in the third as the St. Johns Ice Caps won a third straight game in the Eastern Conference finals, beating the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 2-1 in Game 4 Thursday night. The IceCaps can advance to the Calder Cup finals with a win in Game 5 on Saturday night in Wilkes-Barre. "It feels nice to get a goal, but it feels great to win," ONeill said. "Weve got a long way ahead of us here, but well enjoy it for a little bit." Josh Lunden also scored for the IceCaps, who went 2 for 9 on the power play. "I thought we did a good job drawing penalties, getting to the net," ONeill said. "Thats the key to getting to any goalie." Brian Dumoulin scored a third-period goal for the Penguins, who went scoreless on six power-play opportunities. "Our power play had some good looks, but at the end of the day, myself and our unit definitely have to put some in the back of the net," Dumoulin said. "Its not just getting chances anymore. We have to score." The Penguins were called for six minor penalties in the second period, contributing to a massive 19-2 shots advantage for the IceCaps in the period. Penguins goalie Peter Mannino stopped the first 18 shots he faced, but the 19th was a one-timer from ONeill from the top of the left faceoff circle that trickled past his pads with 26.1 seconds left in the period. ONeills goal came on a 5-on-3 advantage after centre Zach Sill took a double minor for high-sticking IceCaps winger Andrew Gordon with 1:07 left in the period while the Penguins were already killing a penalty. "We were getting a lot of chances," ONeill said. "It was just a matter of time before one went our way. We had a 5-on-3, had good traffic at the net and we buried one." The Penguins tied the score 1-1 at 6:49 of the third when a Dumoulin shot from the blue-line that looked to be headed well wide of the left post hit defenceman Brenden Kichton and skipped past goalie Michael Hutchinson. The Penguins took another penalty less than a minute later, however, and St. Johns retook the lead with a second power-play goal. Lunden collected the rebound of an ONeill shot behind the net and wrapped it inside the post with 10:41 left. "They had some momentum going their way," ONeill said. "It was good to draw a penalty, get back into it and bury one on the power play." Eliaquim Mangala France Jersey .ca. The three-year deal was finalized on Monday and fundamentally changes the way Japanese players are acquired by MLB clubs. Now, if an NPB Club wishes to make one of its players available to Major League Clubs, they will notify the MLB Commissioner of the players availability and the release feethat must be paid to the NPB Club in order to secure release. The NPB Club may not set the release fee higher than $20 million and the fee cannot be changed once set by the NPB Club. The Commissioners Office will then post the player by notifying all MLB clubs of both the availability of the player and the fee sought by the NPB Club. Postings must be made between Nov. 1 and Feb. 1. A 30-day period begins the day after the player is posted, and concluding 30 days later, with any Major League Club willing to pay the release free to negotiate a contract with the posted player. If a team is able to reach an agreement with the player, the fee will then be paid out to his NPB club in installments. Should the player fail to reach an agreement with an MLB club, the release fee is not owed and the player may not be posted again until the following November. Under the current system, teams submit their top bids in secret with the highest bidder gettingg an exclusive negotiating window to sign the player. Mamadou Sakho France Jersey. The deal comes as MLB teams wait to hear about the potential availability of the latest Japanese phenom pitcher, Masahiro Tanaka. The New York Yankees were believed to be the front-runners for Tanaka, since their deep pockets would allow them to submit a high posting bid, while only having Tanakas salary count towards luxury tax. However, under the new system that advantage would no longer play in the Yankees favour. Since only the posting fee is luxury tax-exempt. The change levels the playing field, giving players like Tanaka the ability to choose between whichever clubs deem his services worthy of a maximum bid. Whether or not Tanaka gets posted still remains to be seen as his club - the Rakuten Golden Eagles - has been going back and forth on whether to actually make him available. Tanaka reportedly wants to play in North America, but the change to the system has made posting him less lucrative to his Japanese club. The highest bid ever submitted by an MLB club for a Japanese free agent came in January of 2012 when the Texas Rangers paid a reported $51.7 million for the right to negotiate with pitcher Yu Darvish. The Rangers and Darvish took almost the full allotted month to reach an agreement, with Darvish settling for a six-year, $60 million contract on the final day of the negotiating window. DECATUR, Ala. Kenny Golladay Womens Jersey . -- A judge on Friday convicted Dallas Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in his Alabama hometown and imposed an 18-day jail term that could interrupt the players bid to restart his career. Municipal Judge Billy Cook convicted McClain on the misdemeanour counts after a non-jury trial that lasted about three hours. McClain was accused of yelling an obscenity at police trying to arrest him during a disturbance in a crowded city park in 2013. McClain wont have to report for his jail sentence until after an appeal is complete in state court. Cook also ordered McClain to pay $1,572 in fines and court costs. Its unclear how long an appeal might take. The judge signed a document stating McClain, 25, was free to leave the state while challenging the conviction. Defence attorney Harvey Steinberg said McClain would head to Cowboys training camp in Oxnard, Calif., within hours of the trial. "My attitude is I think I ran into the only person in the entire state of Alabama that would convict Rolando McClain based on this evidence," said Steinberg. "Unfortunately, it happened to be the judge." The former Alabama Crimson Tide star maintained his innocence and said police arrested the wrong person. Hes been arrested three times in Decatur since 2011. McClain tried to delay the trial so he could attend the start of NFL training camp this week, but a judge refused. The Cowboys acquired the rights to McClain from Baltimore on July 1. He was the eighth overall pick by Oakland in 2010 but hasnt played since 2012. DENVER -- The St. Louis Cardinals successfully pitched around Troy Tulowitzki. So there was Justin Morneau, waiting to make them regret it. Morneau hit a three-run homer and drove in six runs as the Colorado Rockies beat the Cardinals 10-5 on Tuesday night to snap a seven-game losing streak. "This was obviously a game we needed," said Morneau, who was batting cleanup. Morneau is making a compelling case to be an All-Star selection, which would be all the more special because its in Minnesota where he began his career. Morneau is hitting .304 with 13 homers and providing valuable protection for Tulowitzki. "If I dont get it done, he seems to get it done," Tulowitzki said. "Hes been a nice addition to our ball club. Without a doubt, hes All-Star worthy." Jorge De La Rosa (7-6) allowed five runs, four earned, in seven innings. He is the first Rockies starter to earn a win since June 12. Nick Greenwood (1-1) pitched 1 2-3 innings in relief of starter Shelby Miller, who left in the third with back tightness but believes he will be back in time for his next start. Greenwood surrendered Morneaus homer on a hanging slider in the fourth. Morneau had an RBI single in the first and a two-run single in the seventh that gave Colorado some breathing room. "Hes having a heck of a season," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said. The Rockies finished with 17 hits one night after managing just three when they were shut out at home for the first time in nearly a year. Jhonny Peralta hit a two-run homer for St. Louis and Matt Holliday had another productive day at Coors Field against his former team, going 2 for 5. He is hitting .545 in his last five games at this park. De La Rosa finished strong, striking out Allen Craig to end the seventh with Holliday on first. St. Louis had something brewing in the eighth with the bases loaded and two outs. But Adam Ottavino struck out pinch-hitter Jon Jay. In the fourth, a hustling Peter Bourjos scored from second on Tony Cruzs high bouncer off the plate to second baseman DJ LeMahieu. An inning later, a slow roller possibly grazed Hollidays arm -- replays were inconclusive -- as he sprinted toward third, the ball taking a funny hop past Tulowitzki and rolling into left field. Holliday easily ran home as Tulowitzki protested. Weiss came out to argue the ruling, but the play wasnt reviewed and the run stood to cut Colorados lead to 6-5. The Cardinals rotation appeared to take another hit with Miller leaving the game. The right-hander arched his back in discomfort soon after delivering a pitch to De La Rosa. Manager Mike Matheny and a trainer instantly trotted out to check on Miller, who took a few warm-up tosses before being taken out for Greenwood. "I could still throw the baseball. It was just kind of a nagging little sting," explained Miller, who went 2 2-3 innings and surrendered three runs. "But nothing that we cant come back from. "At the end of the day, I didnt really execute pitches at all. So, obviously, it was disappointing and frustrating." St. Louis already is missing Michael Wacha (right shoulder stress reaction) and Jaime Garcia (left shoulder inflammation), who both went on the 15-day disabled list Sunday. NOTES: Cardinals LHP Marco Gonzales will make his major league debut Wednesday. Gonzales was a high school standout in nearby Fort Collins, and his dad, Frank Gonzales, is a pitching coach in the Rockies minor league system. ... Rockies RHP Christian Bergman has a broken left hand and will not make his start Wednesday. The Rockies are expected to bring up LHP Yohan Flande from Triple-A Colorado Springs. Ronda Rousey is not used to showing her soft side. Teez Tabor Lions Jersey . The UFC womens bantamweight champion is 8-0 in her professional mixed martial arts career, all by way of her trademark submission: a vicious armbar. The Riverside County, Calif., native usually opens up when her opponent taps out, but another way to get Rousey to release is to mention the Olympics, where she won a bronze medal in womens judo at the 2008 Beijing Games. "Its one of the things that humanity got right," she said. "The whole world gets together, puts their wars and politics aside, and competes against each other just for sport. Its one of the best ideas we as humans ever had." Her definition of the Games is not much different than her career now. The UFC roster consists of fighters from over 20 countries, including four former Olympians. Rousey is gearing up for her title defence at UFC 170 on Feb. 22 against one of those former Olympians, 2004 wrestling silver medallist Sara McMann. As the Sochi Olympics in Russia approach the end of its first week, the timing of the two events is not lost on the champion. "Its very intense and very life long and there are so many experiences that go into it that I still dont know how to feel about it," she said. "I get excited and I get nostalgic and I get idealistic … its just a lot of emotions that come up with every Olympics." Its been six years since her medal triumph, and although she has little time between defending her bantamweight title and focusing on a budding film career – shell appear in "The Expendables 3" and "Fast and the Furious 7" in 2014 and 2015, respectively – Rousey says she wouldnt pass up the opportunity to attend the Games as a spectator in the future. However, rich in competitive spirit, shes more likely to attend as a participant rather than to watch. "You never know, I might show up as a boxer one day." Respect for contracts and treating professional footballers like any other employee in a normal workplace environment is not too much to ask, is it?Van Seggelen is a member of FIFAs players status committee which is scheduled to study the proposal in March. Rule changes are approved later by FIFAs executive committee. The issue of late wage paymeents has affected the integrity of competitions, and unpaid players are regarded as more vulnerable to approaches by match fixers. Last season, Racing Santander players refused to play a Spanish Cup quarterfinal match after having gone unpaid for four months.Their second-leg match against Real Sociedad in January was abandoned after one minute when Racing players lined up at the halfway line.A FIFPro survey of players with eastern European clubs to learn more about match-fixing found 41 per cent who responded said clubs did not pay on time.In recent FIFA judicial cases, players who argued that unpaid pages led them to leave a club and sign elsewhere were judged to have terminated their contracts illegally. Players are typically banned for four months and the signing club is sanctioned with a one-year transfer embargo. OAKLAND, Calif. Wholesale Rangers Jerseys . -- The taxing preseason, which included two games in China, is finally over. Whether the Golden State Warriors are ready to live up to lofty expectations remains unclear. Damian Lillard scored 21 points, LaMarcus Aldridge added 16 points and 12 rebounds, and the Portland Trail Blazers rallied to beat the Warriors 90-74 Thursday night in the preseason finale for both teams. "There are certain teams with different mentalities and agendas going into the preseason. Some teams, we were there once, its important to win ball games," Warriors coach Mark Jackson said. "For some teams its important to stay healthy. Some teams you just want to establish a rhythm. I think the two latter ones were us. The danger is you cant believe you can turn it on when you want to." The Warriors will carry that message into the regular-season opener against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night. Golden State led by 11 early in the third quarter before the Blazers scored 22 straight points. The Warriors missed 17 shots in a row and were held scoreless for more than 8 minutes during Portlands run. Stephen Curry had 17 points and six assists, and Klay Thompson scored 16 points for the Warriors, who blew a double-digit lead for the second straight game. Golden State lost 91-90 at Sacramento on Wednesday night after leading by 17 points in the third quarter. "Thats going to be our Achilles heel. When were not making shots, how do we defend? Whats our personality going to be?" said new addition Andre Iguodala, who had nine points, four rebounds and two assists. The Warriors ended the preseason 3-4, including wins against the Lakers in Beijing and Shanghai. Portland won its final five games to finish the preseason 5-2. "Just as we ignored the predictions last year that we werent going to make the playoffs," forward David Lee said, "were not going to let the positive outlook change the way we work." Jackson said he feels satisfied with the way the preseason ended because the Warriors emerged "relatively healthy." The third-year coach still never really got the chance to experiment with lineups in the exhibitions like he had hoped. Small forward Harrison Barnes missed the last four games with left foot inflammation. His status for the regular-season opener is murky. Lee also sat out Thursday after undergoing dental work on his two front teeth, which were loosed by an inadvertent elbow from Jason Thompson in the loss at Sacramento. Lee is not expected to miss any time. Adding to the concerns, Nemanja Nedovic -- drafted 30th overall out of Serbia -- landed hard on his left wrist and lower back after Mo Williams fouled him on a layup attempt in the fourth quarter. Officials called a flagrant foul but downgraded it to a common foul after a video review. The Warriors have less than a week to rest up and regroup -- not to mention sort out the rotation. With the addition of Iguodala, the question remains: Who will come off the bench? All five starters -- Curry, Thompson, Barnes, Lee and Andrew Bogut -- are back from a team that won 47 games last season before beating the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs and losing to the eventual Western Conference champion San Antonio Spurs in six games. Either Barnes or Thompson will come off the bench. Jackson is still trying to find the right combination, especially after wasting leads in consecutive losses, albeit in the preseason. "It is somewhat of a concern, but not overly concerned," Jackson said. "I think that second unit, probably in a normal game, someone will be in there as a calming effect -- not just a scorer, but a guy that could get us good looks. With that being said, leaving a starter in the game to take some of the pressure off would be ideal." Thompson started his third straight game in the preseason finale, which is usually more of a showcase for unproven players than the regulars, though neither coach treated it that way. Second-year Blazers coach Terry Stotts mixed up his backcourt rotation throughout, but leaned on Lillard when it mattered most. The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year and Oakland native started the Blazers big run with a 3-pointer. He made another from beyond the arc to put Portland up 76-59 early in the fourth. Wesley Matthews (irregular heartbeat), C.J. McCollum (fractured left foot) and former California guard Allen Crabbe (stomach flu) all sat out for the Blazers. Rooney, 30, returned to club duty this week after an international break during which he was booed by fans at Wembley in the victory over Malta three days before interim England boss Gareth Southgate left the player out of his XI in Slovenia. But whether Rooney starts against Liverpool on Monday Night Football, Mourinho insists the forward can rely on the backing of the Old Trafford faithful. He was not booed by Man United fans, Mourinho said. To be honest, the last match when he went to the warm-up, I was feeling Old Trafford was behind him and immediately supporting him during the warm-up before he came on against Stoke. Rooney was dropped by England after being booed by a section of fans against Malta I think at Man United he feels at home, at Man United he feels the respect he deserves. Not at Anfield, obviously, but he knows that here he is respected.Mourinho is also assured of a frosty welcome at Anfield after the rivalry his old club Chelsea shared with Liverpool during his time in west London, but he admits he relishes these rivalries. TORONTO -- Almost three weeks after its last league outing, Toronto FC returns to action Friday night against the New York Red Bulls as the MLS season resumes with a vengeance following a World Cup break. Cheap Soccer Jerseys 2018 . After just two league games in June, Toronto (6-4-1) will go on to play seven in July plus a friendly against Tottenham. Five of those contests are against Eastern Conference opposition, meaning valuable points in the playoff race are on the line. Manager Ryan Nelsen gave his players eight days off following the 1-0 win over visiting San Jose on June 7. They have been training ever since, albeit with sessions pushed forward a little bit to allow players to watch the World Cup in the afternoon. There are different allegiances, although the team is rooting for both Brazil and the U.S. given the presence of TFC goalie Julio Cesar and midfielder Michael Bradley at the tournament. Canadian international Jonathan Osorio is pulling for Colombia, where his parents came from. The U.S.-Ghana game pitted the 12 Americans on the Toronto roster against Ghana-born forward Dominic Oduro. Massage therapist and acupuncturist Marcelo Casal is cheering for Uruguay. The public relations department is still mourning the exit of Italy. While his players enjoyed time off, albeit with a prescribed gym regimen, Nelsen and his coaches were at work planning training sessions. "We might have worked around a nice glass of red," said Nelsen, whose business holdings include a winery back home in New Zealand. Nelsen is expecting a hard contest Friday against the Red Bulls (4-5-6) who are one point behind fourth-place Toronto in the East despite having played four more games. Toronto defeated New York 2-0 when they met in May at BMO Field, with Jermain Defoe scoring early and Luke Moore scoring late. "I think that game was a big game for us," said Nelsen. "We had a few guys out (injured) and wed just come back from the West Coast after 120 minutes (in an Amway Canadian Championship game in Vancouver) and it was a really, really good performance. "New York will have a lot of motivation, in all honesty, to put one back on us. Its at their home field. Ive got a real sense that everybodys desperate to play a game after the break. "Its nice to have a break but everybody wants to get back on the field. I can sense this games going to be a really good one, a good tough one. Im looking forward to it." The host Red Bulls will also be well rested. Star striker Thierry Henry, fresh from a stint as a BBC World Cup analyst, and Colombian defender Jamison Olave have not played since May 27 at Sporting Kansas City, skipping artificial turf games June 8 in New England and June 14 against the New York Cosmos (in U.S. Open Cup play). The Red Bulls Australian star Tim Cahill is slated to be back from the World Cup and could make an appearance Friday night. Cahill did not see action in the Socceroos 3-0 loss to Spain on Monday but scored two goals earlier at the tournament including a highlight-reel volley against the Dutch. "Were expecting them to play," Nelsen said of Cahill and Henry. While hes a Kiwi, Nelsen was raving about Cahills strike against the Dutch while saying it had not got the publicity it deserved. "For me, if a Brazilian did that, or an Argentinian, or a big-country-type player did that, theyd be raving about that for years to come. ... It was of such quality that I didnt think they gave him the credit he really deserved for an over-the-shoulder left-foot volley." "But thats Timmy," he added. "Timmys been scoring those type of goals his whole career. Thats why New York is so lucky to have him." Toronto has two injury concerns in winger Daniel Lovitz (concussion) and Brazilian striker Gilberto (hip flexor). And while the recently fired Gillis wont be around to reap any potential benefit from deal, Vancouver got its first real glimpse this week at one of the key pieces that came back the other way. Jacob Markstrom, acquired along with forward Shawn Matthias as part of the deal that sent Luongo back to his former team, allowed three goals on 27 shots in a solid first start with the Canucks as Vancouver fell 4-2 to the red-hot Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night. The American Hockey Leagues goalie of the month for February while he was still a member of the Panthers organization, Markstrom watched from the bench for 15 straight games as Vancouver rode fellow Swede Eddie Lack in a failed attempt to make a run at the playoffs. After the Canucks were eliminated from contention for the first time in six years, head coach John Tortorella indicated that youngsters would play in the teams final three games and that Markstrom would get his chance to spell Lack, who started 19 in a row following the Olympic break. "I thought (Markstrom), with the amount of work hes done and the lack of play ... I thought he was really good, as far as the technical part that were trying to work on with him," Tortorella said after Thursdays game. That work the Canucks have been doing with Markstrom has included having him play deeper in his crease, a style preached by goalie coach Rollie Melanson. "A lot of the stuff Ive been working with Rollie with felt pretty good out there," said Markstrom, whose only other game with Vancouver was mop-up duty in a 6-1 loss to Dallas. "Its all repetitions and weve been doing it for quite a bit here so it felt pretty natural. "I was happy that I was playing but too bad we couldnt win." Markstrom might be untested, but he is by no means new to the NHL. The 24-year-old played parts of four seasons with the Panthers, including 23 games during the lockout-shortened 2013 campaign. In 45 career outings, Markstrom has a less-than-inspiring 11-26-5 record to go along with an .897 save percentage and a 3.20 goals-against average. But its his potential and six-foot-six frame that the Canucks were drawn to in the Luongo deal, which happened quickly after Tortorella chose to start Lack in the Heritage Classic. Wholesale USA Soccer Jerseys. "I like Jacob Markstrom, I think hes a really good young talent in goal," Gillis said after the trade. "When I look at the return, obviously you want to try and get the absolute best and most that you can get, but there are circumstances that do impact and play a role in these things. And we were impacted by things that were somewhat beyond our control." At the end of last season, Vancouver had both Luongo and Cory Schneider, who was dealt to the New Jersey Devils in June, on the roster. Now with Lack and Markstrom, what had been a position of strength for the organization is now a major question mark. Tortorella decided against starting Markstrom with the Canucks still in this years playoff chase, describing his talents as "raw." "Really the biggest thing Rollie is trying to do is get him deeper (in his crease)," Tortorella said in late March. "Hes a really athletic guy, hes a big man. Hes trying to get him to play deeper. Again, I dont spend too much time asking questions, but hes trying to change his game a little bit. "Hes a young guy. We are very intrigued about his athletic ability and the size that he is and I think Ive got one of the best goaltending coaches around in dealing with these guys and teaching them." Markstrom, who is expected to play Vancouvers final two games of the season, said before Thursdays start hes fine with the Canucks trying to alter his game if it gets results. "At the end of the day its all about feeling good and stopping the puck," he said. "Youve got to go out there with a good feeling and be confident in what youre going to do and I feel really confident right now. "Im just trying to improve my game as much as I can. Obviously its a couple different steps with Rollie, what he does and what he wants his goalies to do." Meanwhile, Canucks defenceman Kevin Bieksa confirmed after Thursdays game that he will represent Canada at the world championship next month in Belarus. "Its an honour. I talked to (Canadian general manager) Rob Blake and he asked me if I wanted to play," said Bieksa. "I havent had many opportunities to play for my country before and I dont plan on missing the playoffs too many more years so I thought Id take this chance." Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork. Cheap Royals Jerseys China .com) - The Grand Slam

Posted in IYH Forums by jokergreen0220 at 09:35, Sep 04 2017

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork. Cheap Royals Jerseys China .com) - The Grand Slam season will get underway Monday at the Australian Open in Melbourne, where a new champion will be crowned this year. Li Na was the runner-up in 2011 and 13 before she nailed down her first Australian Open title last season by beating pesky Slovak Dominika Cibulkova in the final. But the Chinese star retired toward the end of last season, opening the way for a new Aussie champ in 2015. Who are the favorites to fill the void, you say? Well, lets take a look. You dont have to look much further than five-time Aussie titlist Serena Williams, whos never lost in a final in Oz while holding the Open Era record for titles there. The 18-time Grand Slam winner will be the favorite at the latest Aussie fortnight ... and for good reason. Surprisingly, however, the world No. 1 superstar and reigning U.S. Open champ is seeking her first Aussie title in five years. From 2003 to 2010, the mighty Serena nailed down the five Aussie championships, beating five former No. 1 stars in all of those finals (Venus Williams, Lindsay Davenport, Maria Sharapova, Dinara Safina and Justine Henin, respectively). But she hasnt gotten past the quarters in Melbourne since the 10 championship, including a fourth-round loss a year ago. Sharapova will take a crack at Serena, even though she hasnt beaten her American rival since 2004, or 15 straight meetings. Fifteen straight! The reigning French Open queen captured her lone Aussie title in 2008 and is a two-time runner-up at Melbourne Park, where, like Serena, she exited early in the round of 16 last year. The five-time major titlist from Russia opened her 2015 season last week with a title in Brisbane, where she beat fellow former No. 1 Ana Ivanovic in a sexy final. Simona Halep will be the No. 3 seed in Melbourne, where she reached the quarterfinals a year ago. The quiet Romanian star was last years French Open runner-up to Sharapova and opened her 15 season with a title in China last week. Haleps a Grand Slam title waiting to happen after reaching at least the quarters at three of the four majors in 2014, including a semifinal appearance at Wimbledon. The best left-handed woman on the planet is Petra Kvitova. The world No. 4 star is a two-time Wimbledon champ and currently holds that coveted title. The Czech slugger reached the Aussie semis in 2012, but she has struggled Down Under since, failing to get past the second round, including an opening-round exit there a year ago. As a matter of fact, PK failed to get past the third round at three of the four Slams in 14 (but did manage to sneak out a second Wimby title in four years). The aforementioned Ivanovic is coming off one of her best seasons in several years and opened her latest campaign by reaching the final in Brisbane last week. The former world No. 1 from Serbia is no stranger to success in Melbourne, where she reached the final in 2008 and the quarterfinals a year ago. Having said that, in between the 08 runner-up finish and the trek into the round of eight last year, AI could do no better than the fourth round in the Bourne from 2009-13, or a five-year stretch. Ouch. But I thinks its safe to say shes recovered since then. Still the capable Ivanovic, the French Open champion in 2008 and runner-up in 2007, failed to get past the third round at the final three Slams of 2014, including a second-round flameout at the U.S. Open. The rest of the Top 10 is rounded out by former Wimbledon runner-up Agnieszka Radwanska; last years Wimbledon runner-up Genie Bouchard; former world No. 1 and two-time U.S. Open finalist Caroline Wozniacki; left-handed German Angelique Kerber; and rising Russian Ekaterina Makarova, who is yet another tough lefty. Radwanska just doesnt have enough power to run the table at a major. Bouchard, like Halep, will probably be a Grand Slam champion sooner rather than later. The young Canadian was the only woman to reach at least the semifinals at three of the four majors last year in only her first full Grand Slam season. The former world No. 1 Wozniacki, like the aforementioned Ivanovic, also has enjoyed a resurgence on tour. The popular Dane reached her second U.S. Open final in six years last year and opened her 2015 season by reaching a final in Auckland just last week. Wozniackis best Aussie showing was a trip into the semis in 2011. Kerber has no shot in Melbourne, while Makarova could make some noise Down Under. Makarova has quietly reached at least the quarters at six of the last 12 majors, including a trip into a U.S. Open semi in September. She was a back-to-back Aussie quarterfinalist in 2012 and 2013 and can make any player uncomfortable on the other side of the net. Venus Williams may not be a threat to win it all at the Aussie anymore, but she did open her 2015 season with a title in Auckland last week, beating Wozniacki in an attractive all-former-world-No. 1 finale. Venus is a seven-time major champ, but hasnt nailed down a big one since the 2008 Wimbledon Championships. She was the 2003 Aussie runner-up to her little sister, but hasnt been much of a factor since in Melbourne, reaching only a pair of quarterfinals over the last 11 years. Id say that ship has sailed. Keep your eye on one of my favorite young players on the tour ... Karolina Pliskova. This big-serving Czech was second on tour to only Serena in aces last year and is a dangerous player for sure. She also had her best-ever showing at the last major event, a third-round berth in New York in September. And how about an unseeded Victoria Azarenka? The former world No. 1 star missed months of action last year while battling left foot and right knee injuries. But when healthy, Vika has been nothing short of a force at the Slams, especially in Oz, where she captured back-to- back titles in 2012 and 2013 and has appeared in at least the quarters there four of the last five years. Azarenka is also a two-time U.S. Open runner-up who has been making deep runs at the majors since 2009. In addition to Serena (and in some way, Venus), another American to keep an eye on could be 30th-ranked Madison Keys. The 19-year-old Illinois native could be one of the breakthrough players were looking for this year, and wouldnt that be nice. Well, whos gonna win it all this year? It would be real easy to pick Serena here, but Im leaning in the Simona Halep direction, if things can break right for the steady Romanian. Mired in their longest losing streak in four seasons and still winless against the Western Conference, the Edmonton Oilers are beyond frustrated. Jamaal Williams Jersey . Theyll look to avoid an 11th consecutive defeat Wednesday night when they visit the Winnipeg Jets, who could be without one of their top players. You can listen to the game on TSN Radio 1290 Winnipeg starting at 6:30pm ct. The Oilers (6-15-4), whose 16 points tie Columbus for fewest in the NHL, may have bottomed out Monday when they allowed Arizonas Tobias Rieder to score two short-handed goals on the same second-period power play en route to a 5-2 home defeat. The result dropped the Oilers to 0-12-3 against the West and 0-7-3 overall since winning consecutive road games against Buffalo and the New York Rangers on Nov. 7-9. The manner in which Edmonton continues to struggle has become tough to comprehend. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again when it doesnt work, defenseman Andrew Ference said. Do you try it again or look for a different path? I think that youve seen that with some of the mistakes, thats what it is, insanity. Though embattled coach Dallas Eakins continues to laud his players for their hard work, he knows effort entitles them to little while trying to end the clubs longest skid since going 0-8-3 from March 8-31, 2011. There should be no feeling sorry for yourself, Eakins told the Oilers official website. You should be scraping and clawing to try to get out of it. The thing that you are going to feel, and I fully understand, is the pain of it. But you cant be walking around feeling sorry for yourself. If thats going on then were going to address it right away. On the ice, the Oilers have scored eight goals in six games and allowed at least four in four of their last seven. In addition to the two short-handed goals it gave up Monday, Edmonton allowed the Coyotes to score twice on the power play. Taylor Hall got his third assist in two games, but has scored just one of his team-leading eight goals in his last seven contests. He has five goals and five assists in five games against the Jets. The Oilers will start Ben Scrivens in goal tonight. Winnipeg (12-9-4) took two of three from Edmonton last season, and though it fell 2-1 in overtime at Boston on Friday, went 2-0-1 on its recent trip. The Jets used the down time between contests to recover and regroup before opening a three-game home stretch. Weve got to not stray from our game, just play our game, forward Mark Scheifele said. Were ready to get back at it. The Jets hope Bryan Little will be ready to take the ice after he was injured blocking a shot in the third period Friday. Tied for the team lead with eight goals and third with 15 points, Little scored in three straight games prior to being shut out at Boston. Hes one of our top guys and any time you lose one of your top guys, its tough, especially a centerman, teammate Blake Wheeler told the Jets official website. Especially a guy that does so much like (Little) does. CHICAGO - Anthony Rizzo slammed a two-run homer, Tsuyoshi Wada pitched five strong innings, and the Chicago Cubs beat the San Francisco Giants 2-0 on Tuesday night in a game that was halted after 4 1/2 innings because of unplayable field conditions following rain at Wrigley Field. Cheap Giants Jerseys China . After a brief but heavy downpour, the game was delayed 4 hours, 34 minutes before it was called off at 1:16 a.m. Fewer than 1,000 fans remained. When the rain and the wind intensified in the middle of the fifth inning, home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt stopped play. The grounds crew couldnt get the manual tarp fully in place, leaving large portions of the infield exposed to rain for more than 10 minutes. The Giants lost for the seventh time in 10 games and fell 4 1/2 games behind Los Angeles in the NL West race. Rookie Javier Baez walked with one out against Ryan Vogelsong in the first inning before Rizzo homered over the right-field bleachers for his 29th shot of the season. Of his 23 homers since May 8, 13 gave the Cubs the lead and two others tied games. He also had a single. After the rain eased, it took nearly 1 1/2 hours for workers to remove water from the infield and spread dozens of bags of compound on the dirt area. Wendelstedt, Giants manager Bruce Bochy and Cubs skipper Rick Renteria toured the infield, but after additional repairs followed by another lengthy delay with little or no activity, play was halted for the final time. San Francisco had at least one hit in each inning but was 1 of 10 with runners on base. Angel Pagan and Joaquin Arias had a single and a double apiece. Wada (3-1) scattered six hits and walked none. Vogelsong (7-9) allowed three hits and two walks in four innings. UP NEXT: In a matchup of veteran right-handers, the Giants Jake Peavy (1-3, 3.86) will oppose the Cubs Edwin Jackson (6-13, 5.74) on Wednesday night. The player Joseph looked up to while learning how to play in the middle of the line in high school and college was Pat Williams, and now his career has come full circle. Joseph has joined the Minnesota Vikings, who havent been able to match the moxie and production Williams provided at the position since the big man retired after the 2010 season. "Pat was a physical guy. He liked to slam guys. I watched him a lot," said Joseph, who finalized a five-year contract with the Vikings on Wednesday. Williams was picked for three Pro Bowls in his six seasons with the Vikings. They allowed the fewest yards rushing in the league for three straight years in that span, 2006 through 2008, and the oversized, popular, colorful Williams had much to do with that. "He wanted to show that hes an all-time great. He had something to prove from where he started to where he finished," Joseph said, adding: "He was just loved around here. And I want to be the same way." Joseph started 46 of 48 games for the New York Giants while averaging 55 tackles and three sacks over the last three seasons and won a Super Bowl with them, too. The 25-year-old was a second-round draft pick in 2010 out of East Carolina. He grew up in Florida after his family moved from the Virgin Islands. The Giants made him an offer, but he said "it was nowhere near" what the Vikings gave him. Cheap MLB Jerseys. . According to ESPN, Josephs deal has a maximum value of $31.5 million. Oakland and Atlanta also were interested. But Minnesota was his first choice. Joseph said he sees playing for new Vikings coach Mike Zimmer like his experience with the Giants and Tom Coughlin, another noted hard-nosed NFL head coach. "I can tell hes straightforward and hes defensive-minded and he wants to win," Joseph said of Zimmer. The Vikings also finalized one-year contracts on Wednesday with middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley and offensive lineman Joe Berger. Given the new deal they gave Everson Griffen this week and the extension they handed Brian Robison last year, the Vikings have secured three of the starting front four with contracts valuing more than $100 million combined at maximum worth. Those three will account for close to 15 per cent of the $133 million salary cap in 2014. They might not spending money on the line, either. According to a person with knowledge of the situation, speaking on condition of anonymity because the Vikings have not publicized any visits by free agents yet, former Chicago Bears defensive tackle Henry Melton will be at Winter Park on Thursday to meet with team officials. Melton made the Pro Bowl with six sacks in 2012, but he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the third game of last season. Max Verstappen made an impressive start to his Red Bull career in Friday practice at Barcelona - but was still beaten by Daniel Ricciardo in both sessions. Carlton Fisk White Sox Jersey . Driving the RB12 car for the first time, Verstappens fastest time was within two tenths of Ricciardos best - a commendable effort in machinery that remains unfamiliar to the Dutch teenager despite intensive running in the Red Bull simulator since his sudden promotion a week ago.By contrast, Daniil Kvyat, who lost his seat to Verstappen at Red Bull, was over a second shy of Carlos Sainzs outstanding effort as the young Spaniard wrestled his Toro Rosso car to fifth - just ahead of Ricciardo. Im happy - for the first day I cant complain, said Verstappen. I am still learning a lot about the car of course, but its getting better and better all the time. We did a lot of work, a lot of laps and I think thats the most important thing for me at the moment. Its completely different, the seat position, the steering wheel position the switches, the procedures. But I think it was a very good day for me today. Watching from trackside, Sky F1 analyst Martin Brundle added: For a teenager, his confidence is extraordinary. His first flying lap was immediately on the pace and he was right in there at the end of the session with Daniel Ricciardo. MIAMI -- David Wright has been feeling more comfortable at the plate in the past week, and he was due for a big game. Red USWNT Jerseys . Wright broke out of his offensive woes with three hits -- including two doubles -- and three RBIs and powered the New York Mets to an 8-6 win over the Miami Marlins on Tuesday night. "Its fun to get hits, its fun to drive in runs, and it sure is fun to win," Wright said. "All in all, a good night." Wright came into the game in a 7-for-50 slump, dating to Aug. 14, and had only one extra-base hit in August. "Its nice to feel comfortable and its nice to feel dangerous, and thats what Ive felt lately," Wright said. Juan Lagares reached base five times, including a career-high four hits, stole two bases, scored three runs, and drove in two for the Mets, who pounded out 16 hits -- two shy of their season high. New York had 18 against Atlanta on July 8. "He had a tremendous night offensively," Mets manager Terry Collins said. Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton hit his 35th home run and second in two games against the Mets. He drove in two runs to give him 101 RBIs, becoming the first Marlins player to drive in 100 runs since Dan Uggla had 105 RBIs in 2010. "This guy has been locked in and feeling good," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "The last couple of days the swings have been great and hes been focused. I know he probably doesnt think about the 100 RBIs but to see the way hes playing at crunch time, its fun." Christian Yelich had three of the Marlins 11 hits. Miami beat the Mets 9-6 on Monday when they were helped by six New York errors. "You have nine guys trying to put good at-bats and score runs," Yelich said. "Offence can be streaky at times. Hopefully we can keep this up and finish the year strong." Jonathon Niese (8-10) earned the win on Tuesday, giving up five runs in six innings. Jenrry Mejia pitched the ninth to record his 22nd save in 25 chances. Brad Penny (1-1) took the loss, allowing seven hits and four runs in three innings. The Mets jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning before Stantons two-run homer cut the Marlins deficit to 4-3. New York extended its lead to 7-3 with three runs in the fourth on RBI singles by Lagares and Lucas Duda, and a run-scoring double by Wright. A sacrifice fly by Reed Johnson and an RBI single by Yelich pulled Miami within 7-5. Wrights third RBI of the game came on a sacrifice fly in the sixth. That was matched by a groundout by Garrett Jones, who scored Adeiny Hechavarria in the bottom of the sixth to keep the Marlins within two runs at 8-6. Relievers Carlos Torres, Jeurys Familia, and Mejia held the Marlins scoreless over the final three innings. "You can have a game like last night where we absolutely stunk and you can bring in the same guys in the same situation the next night and they can be brilliant, and thats baseball," Collins said, "Thats what makes our game great." TRAINERS ROOM Marlins RHP Henderson Alvarez (left oblique strain), who left Mondays start early because of the injury, plans on throwing a bullpen session in the next couple of days with the hope of making his next start. UP NEXT Marlins RHP Tom Koehler (9-9, 3.79) will look for his first 10-win season in Wednesdays series finale against Mets RHP Jacob deGrom (7-6, 2.94). Koehler has a 2.68 ERA against the Mets in 11 appearances, making eight starts. DeGrom is 2-0 with a 0.64 ERA in two starts against the Marlins. LAGARES ON A ROLL Lagares two stolen bases gave him five in five games. He is hitting .381 (16 for 42) over his last 11 games. "I think youre seeing the making of a really good player," Wright said. WASHINGTON -- Kevin Love looked as if he was headed for a big night against Washington. Zach Banner Colts Jersey . Instead, the Wizards kicked their defence up measurably and held the NBAs third-leading scorer below his season average. Love, who entered the game averaging 26.8 points, had 16 in the first quarter but only nine afterward as Washington broke its four-game losing streak with a 104-100 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night. "I thought he was going for 70 in the first eight minutes," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said. Love, who made five of his first six shots, missed eight of his final 11 to finish with 25. He had 11 rebounds, also below his season average. Bradley Beal scored 25 points, while John Wall added 14 points and tied his career high with 16 assists for Washington. Martel Websters 3-pointer with 42 seconds to play gave the Wizards a 100-98 lead. Beal added two free throws with 12.9 seconds left to make it 102-98. Webster had 17 points, including five 3-pointers. Minnesota started furiously. A 13-2 first-quarter run put them up by 10, and Love had 16 points by the end of the quarter with the Timberwolves ahead 34-27. Love played half the second quarter, missed his only shot, and had just one point, but Minnesota led 63-51 in the half. "I thought when we came out to start the game, it was again lethargic. We werent dictating things defensively. We got upset at halftime and turned it on," Wittman said. Prior to Tuesday mornings shootaround, the Wizards had a players-only meeting, one that Wittman feigned ignorance about before the game. After the game, he joked that he liked the meetings result. "After halftime I was going to have another one. I wasnt going to go in there. Ill do whatever it takes for a win, trust me," Wittman said. Besides holding Love down, Washington also stopped Kevin Martin, who was averaging 24.4 points. He was held to 11. "We need everybody every night. We cant usually get by if we have a couple guys with off games," Timberwolves coach Rick Adelman said. Minnesota began a difficult stretch of five games in seven nights, its second of the season. "Our transition D was poor," Love said. "Thats the only way they scored the ball really. I thought we did a good job in the half court, but everyone knows, when that team gets out in transition they can be pretty good offensively." Beal scored 17 in the second half and his layup with 10:24 to play gave the Wizards an 86-85 lead. They held it until Martins two free throws tied it at 95 with 2:23 to play. "In the first half, we were horrible. We werent there defensively. We were lackadaisical. We played with no energy," Beal said. Wall hit a jumper with 1:26 to play to give Washington a 97-95 lead, but Martin, who had missed 12 of his first 15 field goals, made a 3-pointer and Minnesota pulled ahead 98-97 with 1:11 remaining. Minnesota had won seven of its first 11. Adelman, a veteran of 23 seasons as an NBA coach, cautioned his team. "I keep telling them they havent done anything yet," he said before the game. In the second half, the Timberwolves shot just 34 per cent and missed 10 of their 13 3-pointers. "If youre going to be somebody in the league, you have to be ready to win every night. I think we didnt do it tonight in the second half and this kind of game is one of the games that youre going to need," Wolves guard Ricky Rubio said. Rubio had three quick fouls in just seven first-half minutes and played just 19 minutes. Wall had seven assists in the third quarter as the Wizards outscored the Timberwolves 30-18 to even the game at 81. The result means Atletico Madrid now tops the table, with Madrid level on points in second and Barcelona a point behind in third with nine games remaining as the title race shapes up to be the closest in years. In a game that saw three penalties, a red card and a host of missed chances, Andres Iniesta set the tone by rocketing home an early opener, only for Karim Benzemas brace to put the hosts ahead by the 24th. The teams went into the break level at 2-2 after Messi slotted in an equalizer, only for Cristiano Ronaldo to re-establish Madrids lead with a 55th-minute penalty. But Messi scored a pair of penalties after that — including the 65th-minute equalizer after Sergio Ramos was sent off — to end Madrids 31-game unbeaten run stretching back to the last "clasico" in October. Atleticos 2-0 victory at last-place Real Betis earlier on Sunday means it leads Madrid on head-to-head with the city rivals level on 70 points. Barcelona is on 69 points. The high pace of play and buzzing atmosphere inside the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium left little doubt this was a "clasico" with much at stake. Messi spotted Iniestas run down the left side seven minutes in and slid a perfect ball clear into the area for him to lift into the top of goal to kickstart the memorable match. Madrid winger Angel Di Maria troubled right back Dani Alves throughout, especially when he twice set up Benzema with crosses from the left side, with the France striker nodding home the fiirst in the 20th before controlling the second to smash a right-footed volley beyond Victor Valdes. Quincy Wilson Colts Jersey. The goalkeeper got a glove to Benzemas opener but couldnt keep it out. The strengths and philosophies of each club were apparent as Barcelona looked to set the tempo through possession while Madrid always looked dangerous when breaking on the counter. Madrids defence nodded off when Neymar and Messis hopeful combination came to fruition and the Argentina star could equalize before halftime, with Benzema left ruing a number of missed chances that could have given Madrid control. Gareth Bales speed provided problems for Barcelona down the right, but Ronaldo was equally troublesome along the left and he was tripped by Dani Alves after the break to set up the penalty for his league-leading 26th goal that put Madrid back on top. However, eplays showed the contact had taken place just outside the penalty area. But Barcelona replied when Ramos was shown a straight red for tangling with Neymar and Messi stepped to equalize again. Benzema then came off as Madrid looked to defend the draw, with Barcelona patiently coming forward and Dani Alves sending a shot off the post in the 74th. Iniesta was then taken down by Xabi Alonso and Dani Carvajal in the area to set up the 84th-minute spot kick that Messi slotted home for his 21st goal of the season. Messi climbed to No. 2 on the Spanish leagues all-time scoring list with 235 goals, passing Hugo Sanchez. He also became the leading scorer in "clasico" matches with 21 goals, bettering the mark of 18 he shared with Madrid great Alfredo di Stefano. ___ Follow Paul Logothetis on Twitter: www.twitter.com/PaulLogoAP Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
