ATLANTA -- Lou Williams is out of the doghouse. Mark Duper Dolphins Jersey . Good thing, because the Atlanta Hawks really needed him Monday night. Williams scored 22 points off the bench to give some help to one-man show Paul Millsap, rallying Atlanta to a 103-95 victory that denied the Philadelphia 76ers their first winning streak in nearly three months. The Hawks, clinging to the final playoff spot in the East, snapped a six-game losing streak and won for only the seventh time in 27 games. They came into the night one game ahead of the New York Knicks. "We all kind of looked at each other," said Hawks guard Kyle Korver, who returned to the lineup after missing six games with back spasms. "We all know whats on the line." Williams sat out seven straight games in March, but it didnt have anything to do with being hurt. He was on the outs with first-year coach Mike Budenholzer, who didnt play his top bench scorer for seven straight games even though the Hawks were struggling mightily. The message received, Williams playing time has picked up over the last seven games. He came through with two crucial 3-pointers in the closing minutes as the Hawks bounced back from an early 14-point deficit. "Thats what weve been expecting from him all season," teammate DeMarre Carroll said. "Coach did a good job of not playing Lou, to show him that he couldnt take his opportunities for granted. Hes playing some better basketball now." Millsap carried the Hawks much of the night, also snagging a season-high 17 rebounds. But Williams hit the biggest shots down the stretch, a floater that snapped a 92-all tie, then back-to-back 3s from deep in the same corner to finish off the 76ers. It was his most points since a season-high 28 against Charlotte on Dec. 28. "That was the first time I had to deal with that in my career," Williams said on his benching. "We werent in a good rhythm and Coach wanted to change things up, try something new. He told me to stay ready. Thats what I did." The 76ers were coming off a victory over Detroit, snapping an NBA record-tying streak of 26 consecutive losses. But they couldnt win two in a row for the first time since Jan. 4. Thaddeus Young led Philadelphia with 23 points, while James Anderson chipped in with 19. If only the 76ers could have figured out a way to stop Williams. "Lou did what Lou does -- came out and hit two big 3s, and the game pretty much was determined at that stage," 76ers coach Brett Brown said. "He went back to the old Lou." The 76ers led from the opening minutes until late in the third, when the Hawks stormed to the front by closing the period on a 9-0 run. Williams got it going with a three-point play, Carroll dunked off a turnover, Williams made two more free throws, and Carroll laid one in to give Atlanta a 75-73 lead heading to the final quarter. Philadelphia turned it over twice and missed its final four shots of the period, the last of those a reverse layup by Elliot Williams that rolled off the rim. Atlantas Mike Scott stood defiantly over Williams after playing him tough, the 76ers player sprawled out beneath him on the floor. The Hawks shot just 32 per cent in the first half, were out front for a total of only 29 seconds, and trailed 53-43 at the break. NOTES: 76ers F Arnett Moultrie was suspended five games without pay for a league drug violation. Moultrie, who played 12 games for Philadelphia this season, was assigned to Delaware of the D-League. He cant play with the minor league team during his suspension, either. "Arnett is still a part of the team and we will reach out to him and help him where we can," Brown said. ... Korver finished with 11 points on 3-of-10 shooting. ... Atlanta swept the season series, following up a 113-103 victory at home and a 125-99 win in Philadelphia that started the 76ers historic losing streak. Jay Ajayi Jersey . TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays relied on their big bats in the first two games of their nine-game homestand. A.J. Klein Panthers Jersey . The power game was minimized Friday and it proved costly in a 4-3 loss to the Los Angeles Angels that ended Torontos season-high five-game winning streak. Angels leadoff man Erick Aybar tripled to open the ninth inning and scored the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly from Raul Ibanez. Ernesto Frieri earned his fourth save to end a choppy, mistake-filled game that at times was not pretty to watch. Torontos bullpen struggled after a five-inning effort from starter Dustin McGowan. Sergio Santos left the game in the seventh with the bases loaded and Steve Delabar followed by walking in a run. Brett Cecil (0-3) was uneven in the ninth as the Blue Jays fell back to the .500 mark. "Thats where weve struggled this year -- throwing strikes out of the bullpen," said Toronto manager John Gibbons. "If they beat you, make them hit it to beat you." Toronto (18-1 pumped out 22 runs over its two-game mini-sweep of Philadelphia leading into the opener of a four-game series against the Angels. The Blue Jays scratched out runs where they could on this night, scoring twice on wild pitches and getting another run on a Jose Reyes solo homer. McGowan was hit and miss on the mound and did well to escape with just two earned runs allowed. Santos breezed through the sixth inning but gave up a one-out double to Aybar in the seventh. Aybar moved to third on a groundout and after an intentional walk to Albert Pujols and another walk to Ibanez, Delabar threw four straight balls to Howie Kendrick that were well out of the zone. "It was one of those days where I thought it was right there," Delabar said. "When I released the ball, I thought it was in the zone but it was nowhere close." Mike Trout hit his seventh homer of the season for Los Angeles (17-17). Aybar, meanwhile, was 3 for 5 and is hitting .397 over his last 15 games. "Hes swinging the bat nice, he has confidence up there," said acting Angels manager Dino Ebel. "Hes putting good wood on it and he wants to be the guy ... hats off to him getting that big triple there in the ninth inning." Reyes had three hits and scored twice for the Blue Jays, who were outhit 9-7 in front of 21,383 spectators under the roof at Rogers Centre. Los Angeles starter Garrett Richards was wild at times but turned in a solid performance overall, allowing five hits, two earned runs and two walks while striking out six. "Richards is one of the best young pitchers in the game," Gibbons said. "He can overpower you. He shut down a pretty offence too tonight. So that was the key there. "We were in a position to win, we just didnt win it." Richards second wild pitch in the first inning allowed Reyes to open the scoring. Trout gave the Angels a 2-1 lead with his solo shot in the third inning but another wild pitch from Richards allowed Melky Cabrera to tie the game in the bottom half of the frame. The Angels nearly went ahead when McGowan fired a wild pitch of his own with two outs in the fifth inning. The ball bounced back toward catcher Dioner Navarro, who tagged Ibanezs leg as he slid at home plate. Umpire Angel Hernandez ruled him safe but Gibbons challenged the call and the decision was reversed to end the inning. Reliever Joe Smith (2-0) replaced Richards in the eighth and Reyes greeted him by lashing a pitch that barely cleared the wall in right field. It was the third home run of the year for the Toronto shortstop, who has struggled to find a groove after missing time with a hamstring problem last month. "He looks back," Gibbons said. "Hes feeling good, hes bouncing around. He got off to a slow start with the bat but its coming. He can do so many things." The Blue Jays put the potential go-ahead run at second base later in the eighth but Juan Francisco struck out to keep the game tied. Notes: Ebel, the Angels bench coach, will also serve as skipper on Saturday as regular manager Mike Scioscia is away at his daughters college graduation. ... The Brazilian international goalkeeper was beaten twice in the first 12 minutes of his Reds debut in a 3-1 preseason loss to Columbus Crew in Florida earlier this week.RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes talked in the locker room before Monday nights game about how they felt they were due for a win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Columbus had won seven straight in the series, including a dramatic comeback victory the last time the teams met in Raleigh at the end of December. "We knew we owed em one," Eric Staal said. "We wanted to pay them back for some of the good games they played against us." Staal and his brother, Jordan, helped Carolina make that pregame prediction a reality, combining to score three goals in a 2:47 span in the third period and lifting the Hurricanes to a 3-2 victory. Jordan Staal scored the tiebreaker with 5:55 remaining after Eric had scored twice to help the Hurricanes erase a two-goal deficit and earn their fourth consecutive victory. Anton Khudobin made 22 saves. Carolina moved one point ahead of Columbus in the congested Metropolitan Division with the win. "We knew it was a big game," Carolina coach Kirk Muller said. "You dont want to dwell a lot on it -- let the guys figure it out." R.J. Umberger and Derek MacKenzie scored for the Blue Jackets. Columbus lost its second straight after winning eight in a row. "I dont know if we were trying to hold on or if we were playing the game to win," Columbus coach Todd Richards said. "We gave up three goals in less than 3 minutes. For 57 minutes, I thought we managed it pretty well. Those three minutes, thats the game." After shutting out Carolina in the teams last meeting, reigning Vezina Trophy winner Sergei Bobrovsky made 32 saves for Columbus. On the game-winner, Jordan Staal rushed into the zone against defenceman Ryan Murray. After cutting to the middle of the ice, he nuddged a backhander past Bobrovsky while fighting off Murray. Andrew Norwell Panthers Jersey. "It was a fun comeback," Jordan Staal said. "I had some speed coming low, and just kind of went for it from there. I tried to get my reach out there." Trailing 2-0, Eric Staal got the Hurricanes comeback started when he beat Bobrovsky between the legs after a pass from Alexander Semin. Staal then tied the score with 7:42 remaining after Jiri Tlutsy fed him in the slot. Staals shot fluttered, but the puck sneaked inside the post. Columbus jumped on Carolina in the first period, scoring goals 17 seconds apart to take an early two-goal lead. MacKenzie got the Blue Jackets first goal. Fedor Tyutin took a wrist shot from the slot that hit the post. The rebounded bounced to MacKenzie, who put the puck in the goal before Khudobin could get back in position. After the ensuing faceoff at centre ice, the Blue Jackets forced a turnover along the boards in the Canes zone. The puck eventually made its way to Umberger, who was alone in front of the net, and he scored his third goal in four games. "We came out of the gate well; we were playing well and we went after them," Richards said. After scoring goals on two of their first three shots, the Blue Jackets continued to control much of the action, taking the games first seven shots before Carolina asserted itself. The Hurricanes tied a season high with 17 shots in the second period. NOTES: Columbus came into the game with the best winning percentage in Eastern Conference for the month of January (.81. ... Semin extended his point streak to six games for the Hurricanes. ... Carolina recalled Aaron Palushaj from Charlotte earlier on Monday. Denver, CO (SportsNetwork. Karlos Dansby Browns Jersey .com) - Peyton Manning threw four touchdown passes, three to Demaryius Thomas and two during a fourth-quarter rally that lifted the Denver Broncos to a hard-earned 39-36 win over the Miami Dolphins in a key AFC clash. The Broncos trailed a gritty Dolphins team for most of the game and were down 28-17 after three quarters, then erupted for 22 consecutive points in the fourth to regain sole possession of first place in the AFC West and bounce back from last weeks startling 22-7 loss at St. Louis. Manning hit Thomas and Wes Welker for touchdowns during the stretch, while C.J. Anderson had a go-ahead touchdown run with 5:01 left to highlight a career-high 167-yard, 27-carry performance. You have to earn them all. We definitely earned a victory against a good football team today, said Manning. Thomas amassed 10 catches totaling 87 yards and Emmanuel Sanders snared nine Manning passes for 125 yards in the Broncos eighth straight home victory. Manning finished a sharp 28-of-35 for 257 yards for Denver (8-3). Ryan Tannehill threw for three touchdowns and ran for another to put Miami (6-5) in position for the upset before Manning engineered his 41st career fourth-quarter comeback. The young quarterback completed 26-of-36 throws for 228 yards with a costly late interception that helped seal the outcome. As a competitor, you dont like to see it, Tannehill said. We didnt score enough points in the second half. Jarvis Landry hauled in two of Tannehills scoring strikes and recorded seven catches for 50 yards. Tannehill put together an outstanding first half to lead the Dolphins to a 21-17 lead at the break, then hit Landry on a slant route from five yards out late in the third quarter to put Denver in an 11-point hole entering the final period. A Denver offense that was held scoreless in the third then get back on track, generating three consecutive touchdown drives to forge ahead for the first time on the day. Andersons 20-yard run on 4th-and-2 kept alive a series that ended with back- to-back catches from Thomas, the last a 5-yard score on a well-executed play fake from Manning with just over 14 minutes left. Manning and Sanders teamed up on the ensuing 2-point try to bring the Broncos within 28-25. Denvers defense followed by coming up with a stop before Manning went back to work. Three more completions to Sanders got the Broncos inside the Miami 20, and Anderson powered up the middle for a 10-yard touchdown run shortly afterward to put the reigning AFC champs ahead with 5:01 remaining. Landry had a Tannehill pass bounce off his hands on the subsequent possession, with Denvers T.J. Ward grabbing the deflection and racing 37 yards to the Dolphins eight. The pivotal turnover led to Welkers 2-yard touchdown grab that staked the Broncos to a 39-28 advantage with 3:13 to go. Aided by a unnecessary roughness penalty on Denvers Malik Jackson that tacked 15 yards onto Landrys chain-moving catch on 4th-and-2, the Dolphins inched closer with a 9-play, 84-yard drive capped by Tannehills 1-yard, over-the- middle delivery to Landry with 1:34 left to play. When Lamar Miller was able to just get across on the 2-point attempt, Miami still had life after trimming the deficit to 39-36. Anderson corralled Caleb Sturgis onside kick, however, and the Broncos chewed off the remaining time to come away with the tough win. An action-packed first half featured plenty of explosive plays from both sides, with the Dolphins grabbing a quick lead by putting together a 7-play, 80-yard opening possession that Daniel Thomas capped with a 3-yard touchdown run just over 3 1/2 minutes in. Denver countered with a methodical 12-play series culminating in Brandon McManus 38-yard field goal, but Miami found the end zone again following a trade of punts to increase its advantage. After getting the ball back in Broncos territory after a Denver three-and- out, the Dolphins moved inside the opposing 5-yard line on the strength of two strong runs from Miller and Mike Wallaces 10-yard catch. Tannehill capped the drive with a well-executed 1-yard run on a bootleg fake to give the Dolphins a 14-3 lead early in the second quarter. Manning answered by engineering an 11-play, 77-yard sequence in which he converted three third-down situations with completions -- two to Sanders and the last a 5-yard fingertip grab by Demaryius Thomas in the end zone on a crossing route. Tannehill brought Miami right back down the field, however, making good on all six of his throws on a 10-play, 87-yard jaunt he concluded with a perfectly thrown ball that Wallace hauled in with a diving attempt for a 21-10 Dolphins edge. Wallaces 10-yard score came with 1:54 left in the half, more than enough time for Manning to get the Broncos back on the board. The five-time league MVP hit a wide-open Sanders for a 35-yard gain on 3rd-and-20, then connected again with Demaryius Thomas for a 14-yard touchdown with 12 seconds on the clock to cut Denvers deficit to 21-17. The Broncos couldnt make any progress in the third quarter, however. McManus hit the upright on a 33-yard field goal attempt on the initial drive of the second half, and a fumbled punt by Isaiah Burse that the Dolphins recovered at the Denver 12 led to Landrys first touchdown catch. Game Notes Demaryius Thomas had a string of seven consecutive 100-yard receiving games end, one shy of Calvin Johnsons NFL record set in 2012 ... Manning has now thrown a touchdown pass in 50 straight games, becoming the third quarterback to reach the mark ... The Broncos outgained Miami by a 201-97 margin in rushing yards ... Joining St. Louis is a terrific situation for Stastny too. The Blues had a contending team last season that could have used an offensive boost and Stastny ought to provide that and with last years top line -- Alex Steen, David Backes and T.J. Oshie -- capable of handling a lot of heavy lifting (tough matchups, defensive zone starts), Stastny should be freed up for more of an offensive role than the all-around responsibility he had with Colorado. Also working in Stastnys favour is that by moving to a team with much better puck possession stats, there will be more opportunity for Stastny to play in the offensive zone and if he ends up with rising young wingers Jaden Schwartz and Vladimir Tarasenko (or fellow U.S. Olympian T.J. Oshie), it would be easy enough to forecast that line being very productive. Theres also some shuffling to do among Blues forwards, as they have signed C Jori Lehtera and that could mean Patrik Berglund and David Backes shifting to wings, leaving Vladimir Sobotka and Maxim Lapierre in the third and fourth-line spots. Ben Tate Browns Jersey. The team that Stastny is leaving, the Colorado Avalanche, will have their hands full trying to match their 2013-2014 regular season success, but the team does at least have options down the middle, with Matt Duchene and Nathan MacKinnon more than suitable on the top two lines, and they have Ryan OReilly (who shifted to wing last season) available if needed. Losing Stastny means tougher minutes for those guys, but the Avalanche at least have the personnel to withstand a loss at centre. The ideal part of this deal for St. Louis is that they didnt have to get into an outrageous deal in order to acquire the player who was clearly the best free agent centre on the market. Stastny wanted to go to St. Louis and was willing to take a shorter term than he might have made elsewhere. Signed for four years and $28-million, Stastny gets a raise on what he was making in Colorado, joins the team with which his father, Peter, finished his career and its not an unreasonable price for what Paul Stastny provides. If Stastny can thrive in an offensive role, hell give the Blues a legitimate chance to get into the discussion with the best teams in the Western Conference and thats all that can be asked from a contending team when they dip into the free agent pool. Jamies number grades given are out of five, with five being the best mark. Tuukka Rask, Boston Bruins (5) – He had a brilliant game; it was a huge response for his average games before. He delivered when needed by his team; was the best player on the ice. He had huge saves on Bournival and Eller in first, Gionta on a breakaway in the second. He had elite rebound control: everything was just hitting him and dying. Huge left pad save again on Gionta in third period, great Subban pass to Weise and Rask makes a big right shoulder save. Stopped Gionta again in tight shorthanded. He was locked in all night, his positioning was outstanding. Made it look easy. Carey Price, Montreal Canadiens (5) – He had a big save on Bergeron in the first, a great reaction save on Smith in the second, handled the puck real well on wraps on boards and around net, and had three posts/crossbar plays against. He was poised, calm and cool in the third. When he was not busy, he did not lose focus on a few in-tiight shots. Blair Walsh Vikings Jersey. Sign of tremendous mental toughness. Game-winning goal was a scramble play that was an odd bounce off the back glass to get in front. Jonathan Quick, Los Angeles Kings (3) – He had no chance on the first goal against. He was very composed on a big save on Perrault, a glove save on Silverberg was great as well. He had no chance on Selannes back door goal. He was his acrobatic self in net, made great saves on Maroon and Perry in tight. The Lovejoy goal was a short side shelf shot, stoppable with how good his glove is. Frederik Andersen, Anaheim Ducks (3) – He was calm and cool in the net, had a big save early on in game on Voynov. He had some rebound issues with a lot of pucks, but was great at battling in-crease. He had big saves on Williams, Kopitar, and Brown. Gave them a chance to win, until his injury. Jonas Hiller, Anaheim Ducks (4) – He came in cold with under 10 minutes left in the third, made good saves on Doughty, Kopitar and Carter right away. Tough task to come in cold, but he did a solid job settling in. Bad rebound on Richards goal, but found a way to hold on. NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

But this time, the Gunners weathered the storm. Arsene Wengers team was on the ropes in the early stages of a lively FA Cup tie, until Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain scored a goal against the run of the play.TRELLEBORG, SWEDEN – Jake Paterson seemed to be the underdog in Canadas goalie competition when the selection camp opened. Not anymore. The Detroit Red Wings prospect made 23 saves in Canadas 4-1 win over Switzerland on Monday in what was the teams final pre-tournament test. Paterson also started Sundays game against Sweden making 31 saves and providing the lone bright spot for Canada in a 3-0 defeat. "My mindset going into it was that each goaltender would get a game and then whoever we felt deserved the opportunity to play the third game would be the guy and wed see how he responds," said head coach Brent Sutter. And Paterson responded well in allowing just one goal, which came while Canada was shorthanded in the first period. "I thought he was really good again tonight. Hes seeing a lot of pucks, a lot of pucks hit him in the crest and thats what you want your goaltender to do. He made a couple great saves for us at critical times. Ive been happy with both our goalies, but Patty, the last two games, has been outstanding." So will he start the tournament opener against Germany on Boxing Day? "Well wait and see. I havent decided yet," Sutter said with a smile. "Itd be an honour to be the starter," said Paterson, &quoot;but its still up in the air and Im not sure what the coaches are thinking so if Im fortunate enough to get the call Ill be ready. Letroy Guion Packers Jersey. "Obviously when I found out the news that I was starting tonight I was pretty happy about it." Zach Fucale also performed well in his pre-tournament start stopping 31 of 33 shots in a win against Finland on Friday. And the Mooseheads goalie has the better recent resume having helped Halifax win the Memorial Cup in May. The Montreal Canadiens prospect also has experienced success on the international stage helping Canada win the 2012 Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament in the Czech Republic. Paterson, meanwhile, has limited experience wearing the Maple Leaf. He was the third goalie on last years junior squad in Ufa, Russia, but didnt get into a game. He was also a backup with Team Ontario at the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Winnipeg and didnt play. But Paterson is a year older than Fucale and Sutter went with 19-year-old goalies in his two previous times behind the world junior bench in 2005 and 2006. And Paterson has shown he can meet the moment. He stopped every shot he faced during last Decembers selection camp in order to steal a spot from Laurent Brossoit. Now he may have stolen another job. Less than a day after talks broke down between the Canadian Football League and the CFL Players Association for a new collective

Less than a day after talks broke down between the Canadian Football League and the CFL Players Association for a new collective bargaining agreement, the CFL issued a memo to the media stating that even their own CBA proposal would lead to three of their nine teams losing money. Kevin Pierre-Louis Seahawks Jersey . "We want CFL players and fans to have the facts," read the statement, written in a fiction vs. fact format. "Fiction: The CFL offer would set the salary cap at $5 million and the players want it set at $5.8 million, so they could just saw off the difference a little and get a deal. Fact: The players unions ask is actually much, much bigger. You see, a lot of player compensation does not fall under the cap. Things like benefits, pensions, pre-season and post-season pay, plus any bonus to be paid for ratifying a new agreement. If you look at everything in our offer and everything in their offer, you find that the CFL is offering to increase player compensation by $850,000 per team in the first year of a deal, and the union is asking us to increase player compensation by $2.4 million per team in the first year of a deal. Their ask is not realistic. Under their proposal, six of nine teams would lose money." The league also reiterated that it made its best offer to the union, a response to what it calls fiction - that all the CFL has to do is add a little more to its offer to get a deal done. "Its the most we can pay," read the statement. "It was put forward knowing that under the CFLs best offer, three of nine teams would still lose money this year, even with the new TV deal in place." After almost two days of talks at a Toronto airport hotel, the league eventually did increase its financial offer and the union removed any revenue-sharing percentages from its own proposal, but talks between both sides broke down Thursday afternoon. The current CBA expired Thursday at Midnight et. "The players gave up revenue sharing last time because the CFL promised back then to put it back in this round of bargaining," added the league statement under the fiction heading. "Thats not true. That was never agreed to." Theres been no update on if or when the two sides will meet again at the bargaining table, but the league and the union said it wont stop players from reporting when training camps open Sunday. Gabriel Landeskog scored two goals in regulation and then netted the winner in the shootout to lead the Avalanche to a 5-4 victory on Tuesday night. Cody McLeod and Nick Holden also scored for Colorado, which ended a three game losing streak. With the shootout tied 1-1, Landeskog beat goalie Pekka Rinne with a wrist shot from the right side. Roman Josi and Matt Cullen each had two goals for Nashville, which had a two-game winning streak snapped. Nashville has lost six consecutive home games. Josi scored the games first goal at 3:33 of the opening period. After Holden overskated the puck in the neutral zone, Craig Smith carried it into the Avalanche end on the right side and missed wide with a shot from the circle. The rebound came to Josi at the left point, and the Swiss Olympian beat goalie Semyon Varlamov with a slap shot. "I think we started pretty slow," Varlamov said. "The Predators had so many chances to score. We played better in the second and third periods." Josi struck again at 9:49 of the first. Inside the Colorado zone, rookie centre Calle Jarnkrok won a faceoff back to Josi. From the centre of the blue line, he beat Varlamov with a wrist shot, aided by a screen from Gabiel Bourque, who was stationed just in front of the net. Jarnkrok has posted an assist in his first three NHL games. He also scored Nashvilles lone goal in the shootout. Landeskog cut the Nashville lead in half with 54 seconds remaining in the first with a wrist shot from the low slot that beat Rinne on the stick side. "Paul (Stastny) and Nate (MacKinnon) made great plays in the corner to get the puck to me," Landeskog said. "I was alone in the slot and I managed to get my stick out and find an angle to get it far side. I think that was a big one, but at tthe same time we all regrouped in the second and came out hard. Official Seattle Seahawks Jersey. " Until then, Nashville had controlled the first period. The Predators outshot Colorado 13-3 in the opening frame. Nashville finished with a 33-28 shot advantage. "It could have been easily three or four nothing for them after the first period," Colorado coach Patrick Roy said. "Sometimes its nice to win a game when you are not playing well. That was the case tonight." Colorado tied it at 8:41 when an unchecked Landeskog beat Rinne from the high slot for his second goal of the game. The Avalanche captain set a career high with 23 goals. Nashville regained the lead at 14:43 of the second when Cullen beat Varlamov from in tight with a wrist shot high to the short side. "It felt like one of those games where you deserve to win it by the way you played, but you need to give a lot of credit to their team," Cullen said. "They have a lot of dynamic players that can just go out and scored a goal right away. Its unfortunate the way that it ended up, but for a lot of the game, we felt good about things." After McLeod tied it at 12:25 of the third, Cullen and Holden traded goals 44 seconds apart late to force overtime. "On the fourth goal, we carried it through the neutral zone instead of making a real firm play, we just sort of threw it in the middle and they came back and transitioned and threw a puck at the net there that got by Pekka," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. "We didnt lock it down. We didnt make strong plays when we had those leads." NOTES: Nashville D Seth Jones missed the game with concussion-like symptoms. The rookie was the only Predators player to be in the teams first 72 games this season. ... Bourque has assists in three straight games. ... Nashville is 19-0-4 when leading after two periods this season... The Avalanche had no power plays for the second time this season. NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

The Raptors stepped up on the defensive end to overcome a 52-44 halftime deficit, holding Orlando to a mere 30 points while forcing 12 turnovers over the final two quarters to earn their 10th straight win over the Magic. Orlando shot just 37.1 percent in the second half after hitting at a 59 percent clip prior to the break. Youre not going to win too many games scoring 30 points in a half, Magic head coach Jacque Vaughn said. Williams and Kyle Lowry each made big impacts as well, with the latter tallying 11 of his 17 points after intermission in addition to dishing out eight assists. Tobias Harris led Orlando with 18 points but had only four in the second half. Ben Gordon finished with 16 points in the loss, with Nikola Vucevic posting 13 points and nine rebounds. Despite their second-half struggles, the Magic had the score knotted at 63-63 entering the latter stages of the third quarter. The Raptors then got hot from the perimeter, putting together an 11-2 run to take control. Lowry began the surge with a 3-pointer and Patrick Patterson buried two more to cap the stretch, which staked the Raptors to a 74-65 lead 1:37 into the fourth quarter. We came out more aggressive, Lowry said. We had to keep our intensity up. Threes from Evan Fournier and Channing Frye highlighted a 7-0 stretch that cut the margin to two, but the Magic then failed to score for nearly four minutes as Toronto put the game away with a 12-0 swing. Thhe tone of the first half changed after Fournier temporarily exited midway through the second quarter, the result of an inadvertent elbow to the nose from the Raptors Tyler Hansbrough as the two battled for a rebound underneath the basket. Toronto regrouped following the break and hit four of its first five shots of the third quarter, starting a 12-4 flurry that evened the score at 56-56. Five straight points from Landry Fields shortly afterward had the Raptors up 63-58 with 4 1/2 minutes left in the frame, but a Gordon three and a Harris jumper quickly deadlocked things once again. The Raptors were up by as many as 10 points early on, building a 24-14 lead late in the first quarter on the strength of a 14-2 spurt. Orlando then countered with a 13-4 push to close within one on Gordons driving layup to begin the second period. Its pretty exciting. I love to play here. It was tough games and hopefully were playing fine right now.Wallmark got Sweden on the board with his fourth of the tournament at 11:30 of the third. However, Mamin put home the rebound off of Ivan Fishenkos shot at 12:39 restoring Russias three-goal lead with his second goal of the tournament.Sweden, which won silver losing to Finland at the gold medal game at the tournament last year, now has a shot at bronze on Monday. However, they were finding it hard to look at a possible bronze as a positive. We have to win that game. Right now it sucks, but we have to get up tomorrow and win the game, said Forsling. Thats the only thing we can do right now.Added defenceman, Anton Karlsson: Its so disappointing. You want to play in the final and you want to play in a full arena.Sweden also defeated Russia 3-2 during the preliminary round on Dec. 29. Russia won Bronze at last years event defeating Canada 2-1. Morgantown, WV (SportsNetwork. Sterling Shepard Giants Jersey .com) - Jonathan Holton had 21 points and 10 rebounds to guide No. 21 West Virginia to an 86-57 win over the College of Charleston. Jaysean Paige had 15 points and Juwan Staten added 10 for the Mountaineers (7-0), who have won all but one of their games by double digits. I think hes just scratching the surface of what he can be, West Virginia head coach Bob Huggins said of Holton. Evan Bailey and Donovan Gilmore each scored 13 points for the Cougars (2-4), who were coming off a one-point win at George Mason. A jumper from Devin Williams three minutes in gave the Mountaineers a 5-4 lead, a lead which the team never gave up. That bucket started a 7-0 run and the team had an 8-0 run a few minutes later with a 3-pointer from Nathan Adrian giving the team a 20-10 lead. West Virginia built its lead as high as 13 in the first half before eventually taking a 38-29 advantage into the break. The Mountaineers went on a 14-0 run in the second half, as the Cougars went eight minutes without a point. Adrians 3-pointer capped the burst to give the team a 52-31 lead 7 1/2 minutes in, and the Mountaineers cruised to the finish line. Game Notes Adrian finished the game with nine points and four rebounds ... This was the first matchup between these two schools. Victor Cruz Giants Jersey . Bryce Harper? The Italian side scored twice in a four-minute span in the second half to defeat former stars from S.Max Whitlock led throughout the competition to win gold for Britain at the Glasgow World Cup as compatriots Dan Purvis and Claudia Fragapane took bronze at the Emirates Arena. Whitlock, 23, posted a final score of 89.299 points to become champion in the first competition of the year, putting him in a good position for the Olympics this summer.Leading from the first apparatus, the 2012 double Olympic bronze medal winner posted a score of 15.033 on the floor and followed it with a 15.500 on the Pommel horse - enough to establish a lead he retained until the end. Fellow Team GB member Purvis took the bronze with 86.465, narrowly finishing behind Brazils Arthur Mariano (86.59. Purvis posted his biggest score of the day (15.166) on his penultimate apparatus, the parallel bars, but Mariano secured silver with a score of 15.133 on the horizontal bar.Speaking after the event, Whitlock said My target coming in was to do clean routines and Im happy to do that on all six pieces and come out with a good score and a gold medal. Jonathan Casillas Giants Jersey. Eighteen-year-old Fragapane started well but an unfortunate slip on the uneven bars left her in sixth position after the second of four apparatus. The four-time Commonwealth gold medalist rallied in the final event, achieving the highest score of the day on the floor (14.366) to push her into the bronze medal position. Claudia Fragapane shot to fame after winning four gold medals during the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow Fragapane finished with a total of 55.398, behind USAs Mykayla Skinner (56.999) and Germanys Elisabeth Seitz (55.732).The event, which sees the worlds top eight male and female gymnasts from around the world, is the only round of the FIG World Cup series to be held in the UK. PINEHURST, N. Green Bay Packers Jerseys .C. - The one thing Rory McIlroy wont lack heading into this U.S. Open is advice. In the few weeks since his breakup with girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki, only some of it has been worth much. Gary Player told him to lay low. Jack Nicklaus told him not to be afraid to change the way he plays, even in the middle of a round. Smartly, he only followed up with one of them. "Do you just ring him up," a reporter asked about McIlroys budding relationship with Nicklaus, "and say, Im popping in?" "I dont ring him up," McIlroy chuckled, "I ring his secretary up and say, Id like to schedule a meeting, please. But its been great to spend some time with him. I feel like Ive got a really good rapport." The two had lunch in Florida a week after the Memorial, the PGA Tour stop where Nicklaus plays the gracious host but isnt shy about asking tough questions. Not about relationships, mind you, unless you count questions about where to slot the club at the top of the backswing. "He said to me, he goes, How the hell can you shoot 63 (in the first round) and then 78 (in the second)?" McIlroy recalled. "I said, I wasnt meaning to, Jack. Im trying not to." That began a conversation between the two on the subject of trust. Nicklaus told him the moment he sensed his swing was sliding off the rails in that second round, he would have made a change "right then and there." "The mental strength to be able to do that," McIlroy paused, still marveling at the idea. "Hopefully," he added a moment later, "some of those little nuggets of wisdom that he passed on to me might help this week." Success came so fast for the 25-year-old Northern Irishman it was easy to assume hed mastered most of golfs lessons. But it took an old soul like Nicklaus to point out where some of the big gaps remained. When McIlroy wins, he usually wins big, running away from the field the way he did at the 2011 U.S. Open at Congressional. What he has yet to prove is whether he has the patience and toughness to grind out victories, a trait that served Nicklaus and Tiger Woods well over decades. If nothing else, the back-and-forth with Nicklaus has put the idea in his head. "Its going to be a test of patience," McIlroy said about Pinehurst No. 2. "And I think I am better equipped than I was a few years ago. The U.S. Open I won was a very ... was abnormal. It was wet. It was low scoring. I havent won a tournament whenever its been like this. Thats why Im relishing the challenge. "Its conditions that I havent won in before and Id love to be able to prove to myself, but also prove to other people that I can win in different conditions. Its a great opportunity to do that this week." While Nicklaus will be McIlroys model this week, he hasnt ignored Players advice altogether. In the wake of his very public breakup with Wozniacki, he has lowered his social media profile and already won once. He concedes that balancing his public life he has with the private one he wants is an act hes still working on. "Its nice when you get out on the golf course because youve got five hours of youre just out there with your clubs, with your caddie, trying to shoot the best score possible," McIlroy said. "Thats the approach that Im sort of adopting from now until whenever." The conversation with Nicklaus appears to be taking hold. Much harder to learn will be the desire that catapulted Nicklaus to 18 major victories — the stubborn pride that made him back off a 4-footer on the last hole of a tournament he wasnt going to win even in the final years of his career, because it mattered to him to shoot 77 instead of 78. "Golf has sort of been a nice release for me the past few weeks. I just want to try to keep focused on that," McIlroy said. ___ Jim Litke is a national sports columnist for The Associated Press. There is no doubt that us players are eagerly awaiting the return of the Friday night lights of the T20 Blast. The cold of April and early May seems to have disappeared, and fans too will be excited for the start of the T20, but for players and coaches, our planning began way back in the winter months. The T20 Blast is back this Friday as the Essex Eagles takes on Surrey live on Sky Sports 2 from 7pm Cricket is transforming at a serious pace and getting ahead is what everybody is working hard for. If you sit still in this form of the game, you get left behind.Ive been fortunate enough to make back-to-back finals-day appearances for the Birmingham Bears, being part of a winning team in 2014.Some are expecting similar success this year, but our new skipper Ian Bell certainly isnt letting us rest on our laurels. Ian Bell has made his mark as Warwickshire captain So far in four-day cricket, he has encouraged method, hard work and graft, but I know for sure hell be looking for us to attack from ball one in our first game on Friday at Nottinghamshire. He wants the guys to express themselves, and he made that clear from the start by telling everyone on our pre-season tour, you dont find anything out by sticking to what you know.True to his word, he gave me a chance to captain against the bbig-hitting might of the West Indies ahead of their World T20 win, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Jamari Lattimore Packers Jersey. It was a great honour. West Indies World T20 big-hitters posed a big test in pre-season Personally, I reflected on last years T20 campaign with mixed feelings and have really worked over the winter to push myself and my game forward.Hitting sixes is a skill, and is great fun to work on, but theres a perfect world which exists as a batsman in T20 cricket, a nice blend of effortless boundary hitting with relative low risk. The reality is though that striving for consistent match-winning performances without the risk of losing a wicket is a difficult thing to do. Brendon McCullum offered some invaluable advice during his spell at Birmingham last year When Brendon McCullum was with the Bears, he said to me, I look to come off maybe once every seven games.Hes one of the worlds best and even he knows its not going to happen every time he runs down the wicket.Remaining calm and moving on when it hasnt been your day are important. Play with a smile, he also always said. This year, we have another Black Cap in Luke Ronchi with us at the Bears. Having had Jeetan Patel for such a long time now, as well as Baz last year, I certainly feel there is something honest about the Kiwis. The brand of cricket they play is all about putting the team first and getting the win. Thats something I certainly try and emulate. Winning games is all that matters.Hopefully we get off to a winning start on Friday at Notts and in our first home game against Worcestershire the following Friday, May 27, a game which is live on Sky Sports.Theres no doubt this game is the most fun to play, and the crowds are a big part of that. Edgbaston really does seem to create a unique atmosphere, and hopefully we get a full house in for that first home game. Watch the first live game of the 2016 T20 Blast between Essex and Surrey from 7pm on Sky Sports 2 on Friday. CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs celebrated the 100th anniversary of the first game at Wrigley Field in the most appropriate way: with a gut-wrenching loss. Letroy Guion Packers Jersey . They entered the ninth inning with a three-run lead. They were one out from victory. And then they collapsed. After an error by shortstop Starlin Castro, the Arizona Diamondbacks rallied for five runs in the ninth to beat the Cubs 7-5 Wednesday. "That one finished not like we would have wanted, obviously," Cubs manager Rick Renteria said. "It seemed like the inning kept opening up, and we werent able to end up in the end putting a stop to it." Martin Prado hit a two-run single off Pedro Strop (0-2), Miguel Montero had a tying single against James Russell and Aaron Hill followed with a two-run triple off Justin Grimm. The beloved ballpark, the second-oldest in the major leagues behind 102-year-old Fenway Park in Boston, opened on April 23, 1914, when the Federal Leagues Chicago Federals beat the Kansas City Packers 9-1. Fans sang "Happy Birthday" in the middle of the fifth inning Wednesday. The Cubs wore Federals uniforms, and the Diamondbacks wore Kansas City Packers threads. The Cubs moved into the Friendly Confines in 1916, after the Federal League folded, and have established a tradition of beloved losers. The Cubs only World Series titles came in 1907 and 08, when they played at the West Side Grounds, and they havent even reached the World Series since 1945. Still, the Cubs are 4,076-3,621 (.530) during the regular season at Wrigley, according to STATS, and 7-20 in the post-season. Chicago failed in its bid to win three straight games for the first time since last July 26-28. "Big day out there. You want to show up, have a good turnout for the fans and former players in the crowd," Cubs starter Jeff Samardzija said. Before a crowd of 32,323 -- about 9,000 under capacity -- the Cubs led 5-2 in the ninth. Strop walked Chris Owings on four pitches and Castro allowed Tony Campanas grounder to kick off his glove for an error. Castro tried to keep his left leg on second as he retrieved the ball, and second base umpire Brian ONora called the sliding Owings safe -- a decision confirmed by the replay umpire in New York. Pinch-hitter Eric Chavez walked on a full count, loading the bases, and Gerardo Parra struck out. Prados bouncer up the middle bounded off second base, eluding second baseman Darwin Barney and kicking into short right-centre field as the Diamondbacks closed to 5-4. Strop struck out Paul Goldschmidt for the second out. Montero fouled off a 2-2 pitch, took a ball, and then lined a tying single to right. Hill blooped a ball down the right-field line and Justin Ruggiano injured his left hamstring as he tried for a sliding catch near the foul line and the bullpen mound. He needed assistance to leave the field and was replaced by Ryan Kalish. Samardzija allowed two runs and seven hits in 7 1-3 innings and is winless in 11 starts since beating San Diego on Aug. 24. He was supported by Ruggianos two-run homer in the sixth and a three-run fifth. Trevor Cahill (1-4) pitched two scoreless innings for Arizona, which ended a four-game losing streak, and Addison Reed got his fourth save as the Cubs went quietly in a 1-2-3 ninth. That gave the Diamondbacks gome good news on a day when they learned outfielder Mark Trumbo will be out an undetermined amount of time with a stress fracture in his left foot. Trumbo has felt plantar fasciitis since spring training. "The plantar (fasciitis) at times has been pretty bad but manageable," Trumbo said. "Thats what you have to do. Youve got to earn a living and play. This was to the point where I severely had to compensate running-wise to the point where I probably wouldnt be much of an asset on either side." Arizona starter Wade Miley gave up five runs -- three earned -- and four hits in five innings. "I think were going to continue to be the Kansas City Packers," Miley said. "Were the Packers now." Even dressed as another team, the Cubs were still the Cubs. NOTES: Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig said "it would be great, no question about it" if the Cubs were competitive. He also said replay review has "done great" and added that hes not reconsidering his decision to retire after the season. He also confirmed that baseball is working on an interpretation of the transfer rule. ... Ryan Dempster, who was at Wrigley Field for the 100th anniversary festivities, said joining MLB Network as an analyst is the best thing for him to do right now. Dempster didnt rule out returning to the field. ... Results of Ruggianos MRI will be known Thursday. ... Cubs RHP Jake Arrieta is to make his fifth -- and what the team hopes is final -- minor league injury rehabilitation start Saturday for Double-A Tennessee. ... Arizona OF A.J. Alec Martinez scored at 14:43 of double overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 3-2 win over the New York Rangers in Game Five of the Stanley Cup Final, taking the series in five games, with three of the wins coming in overtime. Custom Texans Jersey . Martinez, the 26-year-old defenceman enjoyed a breakthrough season, scoring a career-high 11 goals and 22 points in 61 regular season games, then followed up with five goals and five assists in 25 playoff games and was one of three Kings to have at least 75.0% of the 5-on-5 shot attempts during Game Five. The Kings earned the win in Game Five, outshooting the Rangers 51-30, but with that many shots, both teams had opportunities. Each team found iron a couple of times in the extra frames, but the Kings controlled play, particularly after the first period. Shot attempts were even after one, but the Kings had 68.8% of the total shot attempts from the start of the second period onward and that relentless attack finally paid off when Tyler Toffolis rebound landed on Martinezs stick. It was a sensational run for the Kings, rallying from multi-goal and multi-game deficits throughout the postseason, winning their last four overtime games on the way to the Cup. Kings RW Justin Williams, who scored the first goal of the game, won the Conn Smythe Trophy, finishing tied for second in the playoff scoring race with 25 points (9 G, 16 A) in 25 playoff games, scoring two goals and five assists in the Final, when he was skating on what was ostensibly the Kings third line. Williams had the best plus-minus in the postseason (plus-13) as he was on for 23 goals for and 10 against during 5-on-5 play. Williams had a game-high eight shots and 12 shot attempts in Game Five. Williams was a deserving winner, on a team full of viable candidates. D Drew Doughty was a stalwart, finishing with 18 points, while averaging 28:45 of ice time per game. C Anze Kopitar was the playoffs leading scorer, with 26 points (5 G, 21 A), one point ahead of Jeff Carter, who anchored That 70s Line, with rookies Tanner Pearson and Tyler Toffoli on his wings. For their part, Toffoli and Pearson had the best possession stats for the Kings in the playoffs, and offered a glimpse at what could be a formidable line in the future. Pearson and Toffoli combined for 26 points (14 for Toffoli, 12 for Pearson) in the playoffs. Former Ranger Marian Gaborik, who tied Game Five early in the third period, led the playoffs with 14 goals, four more than Carter. Acquired from Columbus at the trade deadline, for Matt Frattin and a couple of draft picks, Gaborik was a difference-maker for a Kings team that was having trouble scoring goals. Rangers G Henrik Lundqvist stopped 48 of 51 shots in the deciding game, finishing the playoffs witha .927 save percentage. It was a terrific effort that ultimately came up short. Kings G Jonathan Quick wasnt at his best in the playoffs -- his .911 save percentage was well below his past couple postseasons -- but with the Kings controlling play in the Final, Quick needed to be good, not great. Rangers D Ryan McDonagh had an assist and played a game-high 42:12 in Game Five and led the Rangers in playoff scoring with 17 points (4 G, 13 A); this after going scoreless in the first 10 games of the playoffs. He hit the post on a great power play opportunity in overtime. Close, but no dice for the Rangers. Rookie LW Chris Kreider scored the Blueshirts second goal in Game Five and was one of their most dangerous forwards throughout the playoffs, registering 13 points (5 G, 8 A) in 15 games. Kreiders speed and physical game make him a threat, though it remains to be seen just how high his offensive ceiling may go. The story of disappointment for the Rangers lands on RW Rick Nash, who managed a total of three goals, despite registering 83 shots on goal, in the playoffs. That leaves Nash in rather select company of forwards that have had more than 70 shots on goal in a playoff year and scored three or fewer goals; the list includes Marian Hossa this year as well as Jonathan Toews and Tyler Seguin last year. Basically, this doesnt mean that Nash has forever forgotten how to score goals. That he finished seventh in the league in Goals/60 during the regular season is also evidence that Nash hasnt completely lost that skill. It was a bad time to go through that goal-scoring drought. In the end, the leagues best puck possession team hoists the Stanley Cup and looks like theyll have the horses to mount a strong defence next season. That the Final only went five games this year doesnt quite do justice to the tension involved in the series, with the Kings taking three games in overtime (two in double-OT) to dispose of the Rangers. These Kings didnt do it the easy way, needing seven games to win each of their first three series, but that heightened drama made for a satisfying conclusion to a brilliant postseason. But he certainly got paid like one last week when the Broncos rewarded him with a five-year contract extension worth $42.5 million.Thats actually a hometown discount for an organization that took a chance on the undrafted college free agent out of Kansas in 2011. Had Harris hit free agency in the off-season, he wouldve earned more.Just ask him.I definitely could have gotten more off the open market, laughed the 25-year-old Harris, who had his wife and infant daughter in the audience Monday at a news conference to announce his extension. I know that, we all know that, but its not all about money at the end of the day. Its about being happy, and Im satisfied.Well, satisfied everywhere but on the field, anyway. Because he plays with an attitude after going undrafted, which he thinks is the root cause as to why he doesnt receive as much recognition as, say, a Richard Sherman or a Darrelle Revis or even his teammate — in Denver and at Kansas — Aqib Talib. This could be the season where Harris gains more notoriety, though, possibly make his first Pro Bowl team. Hes having that kind of year for the AFC West champion Broncos (11-3), with three interceptions and a team-leading 15 passes defended in limited chances.I always thought once you get your contract, I think thats when the accolades and all that stuff comes, said Harris, the protege of recently retired and future Hall of Famer Champ Bailey. But I think people are still going to see me as an underrated player just because of my size and the way I came into the league. Will Fuller Texans Jersey. Thats just something where I know my whole career Im going to have to deal with that.Broncos boss John Elway certainly saw something in him. And after only a handful of practices, too.He stood out and I said, We have something here, Elway recounted. Since hes been here, hes shown what he can do.Especially last season, when he turned in a standout season before tearing his left ACL in the Broncos divisional playoff against the Chargers. He watched the Super Bowl from the sideline and then underwent surgery. He was back in less than seven months. Hasnt missed a step, either.Chris just has something in his head and his heart — he dont like to lose, Talib said. Hes one of the most competitive guys Ive ever come across in my life. The Broncos have now made quite an investment in their secondary, locking up Harris and Talib to the tune of nearly $100 million.A hefty price, but necessary in this quarterback-savvy league. The passing games a big part of the game right now and so you cant have enough good cover guys, Elway said. To be able to have two guys like we have in Aqib and now Chris under contract, its very, very important.Next up for Elway is working out deals for receiver Demaryius Thomas and tight end Julius Thomas. Looming on the horizon is hybrid linebacker Von Miller as well. Were hoping that we can get everybody, Elway said. Its never going to be easy, but Chris was the target to start with and we were thankful to get that done, so we hope that we can continue to do that and keep this team together.Im happy for guys like Chris. Im happy for him because hes the type of guy you want around, a great competitor, tough. It just gives him confidence to know what we think of him but also know that hes got that ability to step up and be that kind of leader.___AP Pro Football Writer Arnie Stapleton contributed to this report.___AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

TURIN, Italy - Juventus progressed to the knockout stage of the Champions League as it drew 0-0 at home to already qualified Atletico Madrid, which went through as group winner. Geno Atkins Bengals Jersey .Juventus, which was eliminated in the final group match last season by Galatasaray, needed just a point to qualify although victory by two goals or more would have seen it leapfrog Atletico into top spot. The home side dominated possession but struggled to create clear-cut scoring opportunities and took almost an hour to first test Atletico goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya.At the end of the day it was the result which counted, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said. That was our first aim of the season, to get through the group, and thats never easy.We fought well in the first half and then in the second we tried to score but without risking anything. But were through to the last 16. Now well wait for the draw and focus on the league. Juve showed it can have a great Champions League campaign.Atletico, which was content to soak up the pressure and hit Juventus on the counter, had the best of the chances and also hit the post.We are happy. This is the second year in a row we are in the Champions League and for the second year in a row we go through as group winner, Atletico coach Diego Simeone said. The first half was very intense, with more chances for us. Then in the second half it was a tighter game, we were waiting for the opportunity to counter attack.I am very happy with the work of my lads. The whole squad played well in both games against Juventus.Olympiakos finished third in Group A, a point behind Juventus, with a 4-2 win over Malmo.Juventus was unbeaten in its previous nine European home matches but Atletico — last seasons runner-up — had won five of its past six Champions League away fixtures.Claudio Marchisio was a late injury absentee, with the Juventus midfielder suffering from flu.Juventus started brightly and had a chance to take the lead after just two minutes when Carlos Tevez was brought down just outside the area. There was an expectant hush as Andrea Pirlo stepped up but he drove his effort into the wall.Shortly afterwards, Juventus almost gifted Atletico a goal but Italy goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon pulled off a save to deny Koke after a flurry of defensive errors had seen the ball arrive with the Atletico midfielder, rushing unmarked into the box.Fernando Llorente just failed to get on the end of a tantalizing Paul Pogba ball into the box and Juventus also had a strong penalty appeal turned down in the 19th minute when Tevezs shot crashed off Diego Godins arm from point-blank range.Juventus had Atletico pinned back inside its half but couldnt manage a shot on target and it was the Spanish side that went closest to taking the lead as Buffon had to palm a dangerous Jose Maria Gimenez header out from under his bar.Buffon was again called into action at the end of the first half, diving smartly to his left to parry Mario Suarezs stinging effort.Atletico went close again minutes after the restart when Gabis corner cracked off the outside of the near post. For all its possession, it took Juventus nearly an hour to have its first shot on target but Moya turned Arturo Vidals shot around the upright.Moya couldnt hold a Pogba snapshot from distance but, with Vidal rushing in, the Atletico defence scrambled it clear to spare their goalkeepers blushes.Juventus fans still had bad memories of last years final group match, when Wesley Sneijders late goal consigned it to the Europa League. But there was little danger of history repeating itself. The tempo had visibly dropped from the first half and, although Vidal and Pogba had attempts from distance, both teams appeared content to play out the draw. Ryan Hewitt Bengals Jersey . And it showed Thursday night. The Canadiens, playing in their second game in as many days, however, got a good performance in the end from their backup goaltender as he filled in for an injured Olympic gold medallist . Peter Budaj stopped all three shooters in the shootout and David Desharnais scored the only goal, leading the Canadiens to a wild 6-5 victory. "He battled back in the second and third and in the shootout he was outstanding," Canadiens coach Michel Therrien said of Budaj. Budaj, in his second straight start for injured starter Carey Price, stopped Penguins shooters James Neal and Sidney Crosby before denying Evgeni Malkins slap shot for the win. Desharnais, the third shooter for Montreal, slammed on the brakes at the top of the crease before sliding the puck by Marc-Andre Fleury. "I would like to have some goals back, but we scored five goals against Pittsburgh," Budaj said. "We have to learn from the mistakes we made. We have to keep going and getting better." Daniel Briere scored twice, once on the power play, and Max Pacioretty also scored with the man advantage, his 27th of the year. Brendan Gallagher netted his 15th for the Canadiens and Alexei Emelin also scored his second of the season. Budaj, who stopped 27 shots, made his second straight start after turning aside 28 shots during an overtime loss one day earlier against Detroit. "You can tell the bench guys wanted to battle back for him because he certainly worked hard," Therrien said. He filled in for Price, who was named the top goaltender at the Olympic games after going 5-0 with a 0.59 goals-against average and two shutouts, leading Team Canada to a gold medal. Price, who aggravated a lower-body injury sustained in Sochi, will be re-evaluated Friday. "Credit to the team because they stuck with it, they battled for me and we got the two points," Budaj said. Crosby, who leads the NHHL with 80 points, scored his 29th and added an assist. Leon Hall Bengals Jersey. Neal scored his 21st for his 300th career point and also had an assist, while Malkin provided two assists, both extending six-game point streaks. Olli Maatta scored his seventh of the season on the power play and had an assist, while Brandon Sutter had a short-handed goal, his 10th of the year. Deryk Engelland also scored his career-high fifth goal. "We worked hard," Crosby said. "It was a little sloppy, and a lot of special teams. ... Probably a tough first one for everybody to get into." The teams were tied at 3 after two periods and both scored twice in the third, sending the game to overtime. Three of the four third-period goals were scored by special teams units, Sutter giving the Penguins a 4-3 lead with a short-handed breakaway goal and Crosby later putting Pittsburgh ahead 5-4 on the power play. Emelin tied it 24 seconds after Sutter gave the Penguins the initial lead and Briere sent the game to overtime with his second goal of the game. With the Canadiens trailing, the Penguins Tanner Glass was issued a five-minute major for a hit on Emelin. The call was elbowing, but video replays showed Emelins stick came up and hit him in the head. "Thats why I kind of followed through the way I did, to get his stick away from my face," Glass said. "Its a hockey play, it happens. I can understand why he made the call." The Canadiens cashed in anyway, Briere tying it with his second of the game when he feathered a back-door rebound behind Fleury, who made 24 saves. NOTES: Penguins D Kris Letang spoke with reporters Thursday morning, the first time since suffering a stroke and said he will likely play hockey again, but its unclear if he will return this season. ... Paul Martin, out 4-to-6 weeks after breaking his hand in the Olympics, was scratched along with recently recalled D Simon Despres. ... OKLAHOMA CITY -- The showdown between the NBAs top two scorers turned out to be a mismatch. Jacob McQuaide Rams Jersey . Oklahoma Citys Kevin Durant outscored New Yorks Carmelo Anthony 41-15, and the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the New York Knicks 112-100 on Sunday. Durant, the leagues leading scorer, also had 10 rebounds and nine assists. Anthony, the leagues No. 2 scorer, had 15 points on 5-for-19 shooting for the Knicks. Thunder coach Scott Brooks took Durant out of the game with 1:24 remaining, leaving Durant short of a rare 40-point triple-double by a single assist. "I got on Serge (Ibaka)," Durant said, laughing. "He missed a dunk and he passed up a shot." Durant also was largely responsible for guarding Anthony. "He missed some shots that he normally makes," Durant said. "I just tried to play as strong as I can, contest some shots and not get discouraged when he hits them because he makes tough shots and hes a guy that can get hot. I just try to rely on my teammates, and they did a great job of helping me out, building a wall behind me, and I just tried to play as hard as I can." Reggie Jackson had 19 points and six assists and Ibaka had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Thunder, who were coming off a 103-102 loss to struggling Orlando on Friday night. Raymond Felton and Amare Stoudemire each scored 16 points for the Knicks, who have lost four of five. The Thunder made 12 3-pointers and shot 55 per cent overall. Oklahoma City led 58-53 at halftime as Durant outscored Anthony 19-7. The Thunder asserted themselves in the third quarter. Jackson drained a 3-pointer to put the Thunder up 76-64 midway through the period. Durants 3-pointer gave the Thunder an 81-69 edge, and the Knicks called a timeout. New York cut Oklahoma Citys lead to 86-80 early in the fourth quarter on a dunk by Jeremy Tyler, but Oklahoma City pulled away. A 3-pointer by Durant pushed Oklahoma Citys lead to 95-86. "You can double him but hes a willing passer now and hes finding people all over the place. He was good tonight, real good," Knicks coach Mike Woodson said. Oklahoma City led 97-88 with 5:34 remaining when Ibaka was issued a technical foul. Anthony made the free throw, but the Knicks didnt get anything out of the possession. The Thunder took control from there as a long jumper by Ibaka put Oklahoma City ahead 105-90. Durant scored his 40th point on a free throw with 1:41 remaining. NOTES: Knicks guard Metta World Peace, who as Ron Artest attacked a fan in the stands in 2004 while playing for Indiana, said Oklahoma State guard Marcus Smart can learn from his incident with a fan on Saturday night. Smart shoved Texas Tech superfan Jeff Orr late in the game. "I think that emotion and that fire could be directed towards winning on the court instead of directed other ways," World Peace said. ... BARCELONA, Spain -- Diego Costa scored his Spanish league-leading 18th and 19th goals to help Atletico Madrid come back to beat a feisty Levante 3-2 on Saturday and provisionally move to the top of the table. Larry Fitzgerald Cardinals Jersey . Atletico leads Barcelona by three points before its game at Getafe on Sunday, when the defending champion will be without the injured Lionel Messi, Xavi Herandez, Victor Valdes and suspended striker Neymar. Diego Costa moved two goals ahead of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo in their scoring duel. The Brazilian-born striker whom Spain plans on taking to the World Cup has scored in all 11 of Atleticos wins at Vicente Calderon Stadium this season. Levante stunned the hosts by scoring less than a minute into the match when Andreas Ivanschitz finished off a team buildup. Atletico goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois was called into action to repel David Barrals hard strike in the 10th, after which he railed at his defence. His teammates promptly responded by pushing Levante into its area, and the equalizer came on the half-hour when defender Diego Godin rose up to powerfully head Juanfran Torres short cross past goalie Keylor Navas. Diego Costa put his team ahead two minutes after the break by fending off his marker to volley in a lobbed free kick from Gabi Fernandez. Levante wasnt done and Pedro Rios made it 2-2 in the 56th with a solo effort to win the ball, sprint forward and score from distance. Diego Costa, however, restored Atleticos advantage for good in the 77th by stepping up to convert a penalty after Juanfran Torres was fouled by Ruben Garcia on the edge of the box. "It was tough. Levante is the best team that has come through the Calderon this season," Juanfran said. Levante finished with 10 men after Juanfran Garcia was shown a red card in the 90th after colliding with Filipe Luis while awaiting a corner kick. Also, 10-man Sevilla won 2-1 at Villarreal as it rebounded from its humbling exit from the Copa del Rey with a fourth win in five rounds, while Almeria won 1-0 to keep Real Betis bottom of the table and winless in 10 league matches. Sevilla was shocked by third-division side Racing Santander in the Copa on Wednesday, but Ivan Rakitic returned to the squad to help deal Villarreal just its second loss at El Madrigal Stadium this season. Rakitic found defender Juan "Cala" Torres with a long pass to head Sevilla in front in the 24th. Striker Carlos Bacca was denied by the woodwork before he scored his eighth league goal from a pass by Rakitic in the 71st. Villarreals Jeremy Perbet converted a penalty in the 89th after Cala received a red card for fouling Jaume Costa in front of the net. Villarrreal coach Marcelino Garcia was ejected from the dugouts one minute from halftime for repeatedly complaining to the referee. He watched the rest of the match from a private box in the stadiums upper level. "This victory is important beyond our elimination from the Copa, but it is still just another step forward," Sevilla coach Unai Emery said. "Its true we had a painful start to the season. The team is settling down and this win will boost our confidence." Almeria midfielder Ramon Azeez netted what proved to be the winner four minutes in when his long strike took a deflection off Betis defender Paulao to fool goalkeeper Guillermo Sara. Almeria goalie Esteban Suarez did the rest, making several saves to further infuriate Betis disgruntled fans. Betis has shown no improvement under new coach Juan Carlos Garrido. It has lost both league matches and struggled to get by minnow Lleida Esportiu in the Copa since Garrido replaced the fired Pepe Mel. Later, Real Sociedad took its winning streak into Granada. Alex Okafor Cardinals Jersey . - Jason Day and Cameron Tringale shot an 8-under 64 on Friday in modified alternate-shot play to increase their lead to three strokes in the Franklin Templeton Shootout. If Vettel wins at Suzuka on Sunday, and his nearest rival Fernando Alonso finishes worse than eighth, the German driver will join his compatriot Michael Schumacher and Argentine Juan-Manuel Fangio as the only men to win four consecutive titles. ST. LOUIS -- Carlos Beltran kept protesting that hes just one player. Albeit a pretty special one in October. "Understand this is not about me," Beltran said. "In order for a team to win a ballgame, a lot of things need to happen right, the right way. We have to pitch, we have to play defence, and we have to come through offensively." Beltran had the last two covered like a blanket in Game 1 of the NL championship series Friday night, giving the St. Louis Cardinals his latest scintillating post-season performance in a 13-inning, 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers. "Carlos, hes a tough out for us," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said. Beltran hit a tying, two-run double in the third inning. Then he took charge on defence, calling centre fielder Jon Jay off the ball before throwing out a runner at the plate from shallow right field in the 10th to keep it even. "I felt I was going to have a better angle so I called for the ball about five or six times," Beltran said. "And Jon Jay was able to hear me and leave it up to me." Well past midnight at Busch Stadium, Beltran singled into the right-field corner with one out against Kenley Jansen in the 13th to finish a game that took 4 hours, 47 minutes. "I tip my hat to Carlos Beltran, hes a pro," Jansen said. "Its my job to get these guys out. I was comfortable with the situation." Neither team had much time to exhale before Game 2 Saturday afternoon, scheduled to start 14 1-2 hours after Daniel Descalso crossed the plate. It features a marquee pitching matchup -- major league ERA leader Clayton Kershaw vs. Cardinals rookie Michael Wacha, whos flirted with no-hitters his last two starts. Beltran has 16 home runs, 12 doubles and 34 RBIs in 40 career post-season games, and is hitting .345. Hes also scored 42 runs and stolen 11 bases while with the Astros, Mets and Cardinals. The eight-time All-Star is hoping this year ends with his first trip to the World Series. "Just fun to watch him do his thing, whether its offensively, the big throw he made defensively," Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said. It was the longest post-season game for the Dodgers since the 1916 World Series, when Babe Ruth pitched all 14 innings to lead the Boston Red Sox past Brooklyn. This one also tied for the longest series opener in post-season history, according to STATS. Boston and Cleveland played 13 innings in their 1995 AL division series, with the Indians winning 5-4. "You work so hard in the off-season, spring training and regular season to get to this point and were fortunate to be here," Beltran said. "Thats a preview. Today was a good game and thats what its all about. They didnt want to lose and we didnt want to lose," he said. Descalso had a pinch-hit single with one out in the 13th off rookie Chris Withrow, and Matt Carpenter walked. Jansen, usually the Dodgers closer, relieved and Beltran won it with his hit on a 3-1 count. The Cardinals remained unbeaten in extra-inning post-season games since dropping the opener of the 1946 World Series to Boston. That said, theyre just 4-0 in that span. Winning pitcher Lance Lynn strengthened his case for a possible Game 4 start with two scoreless innings. Withrow took the loss. "There were a lot of big outs that both teams got tonight," Mattingly said. "If the rest of the series is like this game,, it should be a pretty good one. John Brown Cardinals Jersey. ." The Dodgers had two on in the ninth, 10th and 11th and came up empty. They stranded 11 overall while going 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position. They averaged 6 1-2 runs and batted .333, best ever in an NL post-season series, while taking a four-game division series from the Braves. Dodgers starter Zack Greinke struck out 10 in eight innings, allowing just four hits. Cardinals starter Joe Kelly left after the sixth with the score 2-all. Mark Ellis tripled with one out in the Dodgers 10th. After Hanley Ramirez was intentionally walked, Michael Young followed with a fly ball to shallow right field that Beltran caught. Beltran made a strong, one-hop throw home and Ellis crashed into Gold Glove catcher Yadier Molina. Molina held the ball, but it was hard to tell whether he actually tagged Ellis. On such plays, however, umpires almost always give the benefit to the catcher and call the runner out. "Youve got to go, thats what you do," Ellis said. "They made a great throw, Yadi made a great tag." The Dodgers put runners at first and second with two outs in the 11th against John Axford. Pinch-hitter Nick Punto, who played for the Cardinals on their 2011 World Series championship team, struck to end the inning. Young, in the game after cleanup man Adrian Gonzalez was pulled for a pinch-runner in the eighth, got another chance in 12th. With runners on first and second, he grounded into an inning-ending double play against Lynn. Beltrans double in the third barely eluded centre fielder Andre Ethier. Slowed by a sore ankle, Ethier made his first start in this post-season. He appeared to mistime his jump just a bit as he banged into the padded wall. Beltrans two-run double in the third was the only damage against Greinke. He fanned Carpenter, Matt Adams and Pete Kozma twice each and struck out the side in the fifth. The teams are post-season foes for the first time since a Dodgers sweep in their 2009 division series. Its their first NLCS matchup since 1985, when the Cardinals won in six games behind game-breaking homers from Ozzie Smith and Jack Clark off Tom Niedenfuer. Kelly left on his own terms after six innings in a 2-all tie, hurt only by Juan Uribes two-run single in the third. Counting multiple efforts, the Cardinals had five relievers warm but the Dodgers were 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position. Kelly got all three outs on strikeouts in the first. The Dodgers left runners on second and third when Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig fanned. Kershaw started the division series clincher against Atlanta on three days rest Monday and will be on regular rest in Game 2. The left-hander said the media made a big deal of short rest, but not he nor Mattingly. Dodgers hitting coach Mark McGwire got a nice hand when he lined up along the third base line during introductions. So did two other former Cardinals, utility men Skip Schumaker and Punto. There was some booing for Greinke, who referred to Cardinals ace Chris Carpenter as a "phoney" when Greinke was with the Brewers. NOTES: Carpenter, who entered in a 1-for-29 slump, walked and scored on Beltrans double. ... Greinkes career best is 15 strikeouts for the Royals on Aug. 25, 2009, against Cleveland. ... It was the longest NLCS game since the New York Mets beat Atlanta 4-3 in 15 innings on Robin Venturas "grand slam-single" in 1999. NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork. Jack Conklin Titans Jersey .com) - There is no worse month on the baseball calendar than January. Yes, the Hall of Fame announcement comes and that is always good for some debate, but other than that ... nothing. And thats probably a good thing because with the newly formed College Football Playoff and the NFL postseason in full swing, baseball is really on the back burner in the sports pantheon. More so than usual, anyway. Regardless, it certainly makes for a boring time of the year if you are covering the sport. And while we still may be less than a month away from pitchers and catchers reporting to spring training, there are still some big questions that need to be answered. For instance ... WHERE IS MAX SCHERZER GOING TO WIND UP? This may have been the biggest question heading into the offseason and here we are on Jan. 14 and still have no idea how this is going to play out. The process was likely slowed by the notion floated from Scherzers agent, Scott Boras, that it could take up to $200 million to land the former AL Cy Young Award winner. Still and all, its probably the same teams you initially thought would be in the mix for Scherzer that are still in the running, despite statements from both the New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers that they were no longer interested. Given Boras past relationship with the Washington Nationals, youd have to think they could be a factor. I thought all along he would wind up in the Bronx, but now I am not so sure. However, it is starting to sound like the Tigers could once again be a factor, which could then lead them to move David Price. And if that happens, it could be a wild few weeks. One team that may be laying in the weeds, though, is the St. Louis Cardinals. They normally dont delve into this type of contract, but it does make some sense. Scherzer is from St. Louis and the Cards have a ton of injury concerns in that rotation. Plus Jon Lester going to Chicago may have upped the ante for the Cardinals. WILL THE RED SOX ADD ANOTHER STARTER? Speaking of Lester, the Red Sox failed to re-sign him and have never really addressed the top of their rotation. And if they werent willing to go over $130 million or so for Lester, it makes zero sense to think theyd do it for Scherzer. Now the Red Sox added some depth to their rotation this winter, bringing in the likes of Rick Porcello, Wade Miley and Justin Masterson. Its a nice group of No. 3 pitchers, but theres no real ace in the mix. Should Scherzer find his way back to Detroit, dont be surprised to see the Red Sox get involved in a potential Price blockbuster. Righty James Shields is still out there, too, and likely biding his time to offer his services to the losers of the Scherzer sweepstakes. WHO IS GOING TO PLAY SHORTSTOP FOR THE METS? Since the final game of the 2014 season, the New York Mets have been linked to almost every shortstop in the league. Yet here we are almost a month away from spring training and the odds-on favorite to be the teams Opening Day shortstop is once again either Wilmer Flores or Ruben Tejada. A Troy Tulowitzki deal was probably always a pipe dream, but the Mets failed to land a Jed Lowrie or Asdrubal Cabrera. The fact they were in on Ben Zobrist last week tells you, though, that they are looking to fill that spot. There are some options left for them. Rafael Furcal is still available, but at age 37, is he any better an option than what the Mets have in-house? If the Mets do truly want a shortstop, why not just give the Toronto Blue Jays a call and ask about Jose Reyes? The wear and tear from that turf is robbing him of the thing that once made him so electric. The Mets have the pieces to get a deal done. Isnt it something to explore at least? Or maybe they do actually believe in Flores? ARE THE PHILLIES DONE WHEELING AND DEALING? One of the busier teams this offseason has been the Philadelphia Phillies. They finally cut ties with longtime shortstop Jimmy Rollins and may be ready to do the same with both Cole Hamels and Ryan Howard, especially the latter. Finding a taker for Hamels shouldnt be that hard, even with the $90 million- plus still owed to him. Hamels is an ace. Any team would want him. For the Phils, its a matter of what you are getting back. Like we mentioned earlier, the Red Sox are a team that could make a move, as well as a team like San Diego. Hamels is from San Diego and despite all the other moves they have made this offseason, the Padres probably still arent a playoff team in the NL. Getting Hamels would change that. Now the Phillies unloading Howard and his $50 million is a different story. The former NL MVP may not be as feared as he once was, but he still slugged 23 home runs and drove in 95 runs last year. However, he only hit .223 and struck out 190 times. Still, there could be a market for him, provided the Phils eat a ton of that salary. IS THE GAME GOING TO SPEED UP? The owners meetings are taking place this week in Arizona, the final ones presided over by outgoing commissioner Bud Selig, and the biggest topic on the agenda is the effort to speed up these games. Its probably unlikely that a pitch clock is going to be implemented anytime soon, but there could be some tweaks to speed up the game, particularly in regards to the replay process. Far too often last season, managers would take a nice little stroll out to an umpire and stay there until he got word from his dugout if he should challenge a play. One of the changes that could be made is that once a manager leaves the dugout, that automatically triggers his challenge. Another pace of play discussion will center around the experiment MLB used in the Arizona Fall League. A hitter was required to keep one foot in the batter?s box at all times with exceptions for foul balls, wild pitches and timeouts. With no current major league rule to deter hitters from stepping out of the box, they are free to stroll away after every pitch. With this rule, if a player leaves the box completely, he can be penalized with a strike. Ugh. Spring training cant come soon enough. Chance Warmack Titans Jersey . There was hardly a mark on Carlos (The Natural Born Killer) Condit other than a small abrasion around his right eye. Martin (The Hitman) Kampmanns face looked like someone had taken a giant can-opener to it, with fresh stitches peaking out below and above the chunky sunglasses wrapped around his shaved head. A trickle of blood glistened from the stitches below his right eye as the news conference wore on. The only discomfort Condit showed was an occasional wince as he flexed his hand -- probably from overuse. According to FightMetric, the sixth-ranked Kampmann led 6-0 in takedowns but Condit had a huge 100-35 edge in significant strikes. And by the time referee Herb Dean stepped in 54 seconds into the fourth round, Condits surgical strikes had broken Kampmann and left his face a bloody mask with a gash below his eye and another on his forehead above the bridge of his nose. Wednesdays win at Bankers Life Fieldhouse reaffirmed the second-ranked Condits perch high among UFC welterweight contenders after back-to-back losses to champion Georges St-Pierre of Montreal and No. 1 contender Johny (Bigg Rigg) Hendricks. GSP and Hendricks square off at UFC 167 in November. No. 3 Rory (Ares) MaDonald, a native of Kelowna, B.C., who fights out of Montreal, meets No. 9 (Ruthless) Robbie Lawler on the same Las Vegas card. While St-Pierre has held the 170-pound title since April 2008, making eight straight title defences, the welterweight division is beginning to look a little more than just GSPs personal playground these days. Once it looked like St-Pierre had cleaned out the decision. Now the top 10 is looking more vibrant. GSP is still the top dog but the division is showing signs of life. Condit (29-7) remains a threat -- a durable, smart, evolving fighter who is working on closing the few chinks in his armour. "Hes one of the best in the world," said UFC president Dana White. Former Strikeforce welterweight champion Tarec (Sponge) Saffiedine, the No. 8 contender forced to drop out of a July bout with Lawler due to injury, has said he wants to meet the Condit-Kampmann winner. No. 4 Demian Maia, a jiu-jitsu ace who is 3-0 since dropping down to 170 pounds, is due to meet former Strikeforce middleweight champion Jake Shields, a top grappler himself, in October. Matt (The Immortal) Brown has turned heads recently, entering the rankings at No. 10 after his sixth straight win. White said Wednesday that he has a bout for the hard-nosed Brown in mind but wouldnt say more other than "its a perfect fight for him." No. 7 Nick Diaz remains on the sidelines but his retirement after a loss to a March loss to St-Pierre -- which followed a defeat at the hands of Condit -- may be temporary. No. 5 Jake (The Juggernaut) Ellenberger has some work to do in the wake of a disappointing performance in a loss to MacDonald in July. Outside the top 10 lurks Tyron (The Chosen One) Woodley, who is due to face veteran Josh Koscheck at UFC 167 next. And Brandon (Rukus) Thatch turned heads in his UFC debut Wednesday, posting his 10th first-round win. Unbeaten Kelvin Gastelum, winner of Season 17 of "The Ultimate Fighter" as a middleweight, also looked sharp in his first outing at welterweight. The pretenders to the crown still face a stiff task in trying to dethrone the 32-year-old SSt-Pierre, who has won 11 straight since an April 2007 loss to Matt (The Terror) Serra -- a defeat avenged a year later when GSP reclaimed his title. DaQuan Jones Titans Jersey. The Canadian leads the UFC in significant strikes (1,153), total strikes landed (2,39, takedowns landed (84) and takedown accuracy (75 per cent). His career fight time (five hours three minutes 12 seconds) ranks second to B.J. Penn by just 39 seconds. St-Pierre, a dead-cert future Hall of Famer, is also third in significant strike defence (75.1 per cent). With a team of elite coaches led by Firas Zahabi and a work ethic second to none, St-Pierre is still a force to be reckoned with as long as his hunger remains. Living with a target on your back for more than five years isnt easy, especially in a sport that demands so much gruelling training between fights. Next up for St-Pierre is Hendricks, a former NCAA champion wrestler with a sledgehammer for a left hand. While St-Pierre and his team craft game plans to blunt their opponents strengths and allow the champion to control the fight, Hendricks breaks people with his heavy hand. His 10-1 UFC resume includes finishes of 12, 29, 40 and 46 seconds. Still, Condit picks St-Pierre to win in November. "Hendricks is obviously a very dangerous guy, he can end the fight with one punch," said Condit, a former WEC and interim UFC champion. "But I think Georges St-Pierre is too technical and also Hendricks has shown that he fades towards the end of the third (round). Now hes got two extra rounds to go. I think Georges is going to probably take control towards the end of the fight and come out on top." As for Condits future, he said he was leaning towards a rematch with Hendricks as his preferred next challenge "just because our fight was so close." There was only pain for Kampmann (20-7). Hampered by slow starts in some previous fights, the Las Vegas-based Dane came out like a rocket and gassed out in the second round. White wondered about Kampmanns strategy, asking why he didnt vary his tactics after landing four takedowns in the first round. "I said Whens he going to let his hands go? Hes one of the best strikers in the business. And now hes already got Carlos worried about the takedowns. Why not throw some punches?" White asked. Its back to the drawing board for Kampmann, knocked out in 46 seconds by Hendricks last November. A well-rounded, quality fighter, he has stumbled in the face of elite opposition. Condit, he agreed, was the better man Wednesday. "I think I solidified myself as a contender," said Condit when asked where he thought he stood in the division after Wednesdays win. "Im still maybe a fight away from another title shot, I hope." UFC 167 will play out the next piece of the welterweight puzzle. NOTES -- Part of the upper deck at Bankers Life Fieldhouse was curtained off, an apparent acceptance of the difficulties in staging a televised show on a Wednesday night. The show drew a modest 5,950, down from the 15,811 that attended the UFC 119 pay-per-view show at the same venue in September 2010. White said Wednesday was the choice of his television partner Fox, calling it a challenge they will make work ... The UFC now shifts to Milwaukee for UFC 164 on Saturday when Benson (Smooth) Henderson defends his lightweight title against Anthony (Showtime) Pettis. NFL Jerseys China ' ' '

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS Reason for pessimism: Its kind of difficult to find much to be pessimistic about in Seattle in 2013. Joe Staley 49ers Jersey . They were the second youngest team in football, so with all the success how will they react this season? Russell Wilson is no longer new to the NFL and teams have significant game film on him. He will have to elevate a new skill set to keep teams off balance. Percy Harvins absence is a concern as he would have been a game changer and a defence dictator. Still, there is very little pessimism with this team. Reason for optimism: The Seattle Seahawks won 11 games last year and in the six losses were by point totals of four, six, seven, four, and three. Seattle was within one converted touchdown of every game last year. Wilson is for real and Marshawn Lynch is the most physical runner in football; as much as Adrian Peterson. They won five regular season games in a row to end the season and in Week 16 beat San Francisco 42-13. The pass rush has improved in free as well. They are 59-29 at home since 2002, second only to Green Bay, and their defence leads the NFL in the most important statistic of all: fewest points allowed with (15.3 per game.) Not much to be pessimistic about; everything to be optimistic about. Prediction: First in NFC West. SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS Reason for pessimism: It is going to be tough to get back. In 2011, San Francisco won 13 games and made it to the NFC Championship game only to lose to the eventual Super Bowl-winning New York Giants in overtime. Then last season, they won an impressive 11 games, made it all the way to the Super Bowl in Louisiana, had the ball for four plays on the seven yard line with time left but lost 34-31 to the Baltimore Ravens. Now Jim Harbaugh is 24-7-1 as a two-year coach. He know the business. But, can the players regenerate the energy necessary to grind out another season, play their best in the regular season and handle the pressure of a New York Super Bowl? Seattle will be better, St. Louis will be better, will the 49ers be better? They did lose eight players in free agency (to be expected) including significant losses Dashon Goldson and Delanie Walker. It really is Super Bowl or bust for the 49ers this season. Reason for optimism: Colin Kaepernick is just going to get better and better. He had an amazing year last year, or to be more accurate, half year. He has a very strong arm and now has Anquan Boldin to work with. Both Patrick Willis and Frank Gore could go down as the greatest 49ers ever at their positions before they retire and Navarro Boman would be the top linebacker on any team except with the 49ers. The individual talent may be better than any other NFL team. Greg Roman and Vic Fangio are excellent coordinators and if the 49ers win the Super Bowl, probably new head coaches. 2013 is all about unfinished business for San Francisco and just about every piece of the puzzle fits. Reality: I can see the 49ers keeping the Rams at a distance but dont know about Seattle. Week 2 at Seattle and Week 14 at home against Seattle are critical games. Prediction: Second in NFC West. ST. LOUIS RAMS Reason for pessimism: The last five years of Rams football have been pretty tough. With two, one, seven, two, and another seven; that totals 19 wins in the last 80 games. And this year they dont have Steven Jackson at running back. Jackson reminds me of the great Curtis Martin: durable, explosive, and able to get the job done year after year. The Rams will miss Jacksons consistency. We will know a lot about the Rams by Week 4: after opening at Arizona, they are at Atlanta, at Dallas and San Francisco on Monday night. To progress and be a playoff team, the Rams still have to improve in the kicking game: 31st and 26th in punt and kick return is not playoff efficient. They also have to improve their takeaway/giveaway ratio as they finished - 1 by the end of the season. The Rams are on the rise and everyone in the NFL knows it; especially San Francisco and Seattle. Reason for optimism: They could finish in first place in NFC West. For the first time in his NFL career Sam Bradford will have the same offence to run. He will improve just because of that fact. Tavon Austin will not only help the offence but the return game as well. And the Rams have an excellent kicker in Greg Zuerlein who made seven 50-yard plus field goals last season, including a 60-yarder. Still, the biggest reason is Jeff Fisher as head coach. His overall record is 149 wins, 128 losses and one tie. You add all those games up you have 278 games of coaching experience. If any coach can correctly evaluate, adjust, improve and capitalize based on experience, its Fisher. Reality: Its not that the Rams arent good, it is that the other teams are good too. If the Rams can stay healthy going into December and progressively improve then yes, they can knock either San Francisco or Seattle into third place. In December they play at San Francisco and in Seattle. This is a good team on the verge of great, but not quite yet. Prediction: Third in NFC West. ARIZONA CARDINALS Reason for pessimism: Basically the Arizona Cardinals are starting all over again. There five-year win totals are nine, 10, five, eight, and five. It really showed how good Kurt Warner was. Nobody felt Warners departure more that Larry Fitzgerald as a wide receiver. Each team in their division is on the way up and in some ways so are the Cardinals. They certainly are not unwilling to make tough moves, with an example being not re-sighing Adrian Wilson who will eventually be in the Cardinals Ring of Honour. Another was drafting Tyrann Mattheiu out of LSU, who has baggage. No risk, no reward . Last year the Cardinals won four in a row and then lost 11 of 12. The all-time low was Week 14 when they lost to Seattle in Seattle 58-0. Many said the Cardinals players just quit trying; pretty heavy criticism. Reason for optimism: Bruce Arians did a remarkable job with Andrew Luck and the entire situation with the Colts. He now has a more experienced quarterback in Carson Palmer and control overall as the top influence over football in Arizona. The question is do they have enough good players? Fitzgerald and Patrick Peterson are two of the best at wide receiver and cornerback. The unknown is running back and the right side of the offensive line. Some teams can absorb injuries because they have winning seasons and have been able to draft and sign players to enhance depth and special teams. Not Arizona, as they are still looking for 22 quality starters for both sides of the ball. With Arians, they have a chance to reach that goal, given time. Reality: They open at St. Louis , they end at San Francisco, and are at Seattle about mid-season. They also travel to New Orleans, Tampa Bay, Houston, and Indianapolis. Their schedule is real tough. Prediction: Fourth in the NFC West. Terrell Owens 49ers Jersey . The 49ers announced the deal Tuesday. San Francisco selected Lloyd in the fourth round of the 2003 draft. Joe Looney 49ers Jersey . New York then missed its next six shots and scored only two points the rest of the night. The Los Angeles Clippers defence and the Knicks general ineptitude both played a role in the unsurprising finish to a meeting of two teams headed in opposite directions. http://www.thesf49ersshoponline.com/Youth-Vance-Mcdonald-49ers-Jersey/ . With the Canadiens leading by one to start the third period, Price turned away 16 shots by the Panthers in the final frame to give Montreal a 2-1 victory over Florida on Monday night. The Panthers (16-21-6) outshot Montreal 16-10 in the final frame, but were repeatedly frustrated by Price, who made 26 saves on the night.SHANGHAI - Canadas Milos Raonic and Vasek Pospisil were eliminated at the Shanghai Masters on Wednesday while Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic advanced to the third round.Raonic, the No. 8 seed from Thornhill, Ont., trailed 2-5 in the opening set when he retired from his second-round match against Argentinas Juan Monaco. It wasnt immediately clear why Raonic decided to end the match. The unseeded Pospisil, from Vancouver, dropped a 7-6 (1), 3-6, 6-4 decision to No. 14 Roberto Bautista Agut despite firing 15 aces to the Spaniards two.Federer saved five match points and rallied from a 5-2 deficit in the third-set tiebreaker before finally beating Leonardo Mayer 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (7) in a thrilling second-round match.Rafael Nadal, meanwhile, lost to fellow Spaniard Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 7-6 (6) only days after appendicitis left him bedridden and uncertain if hed be able to compete.Federer hadnt played since helping Switzerland beat Italy to make the Davis Cup final a month ago, and the inactivity showed. He made an uncharacteristic 57 unforced errors — including some bad mishits — and only won about half of his points at the net.The Swiss star was also a little fortunate. On Mayers first match point at 5-4 in the third, the Argentine aimed a backhand passing shot down the line but the ball clipped the tape and fell back on his side of the net.Federer finally put it away on his first match point with a backhand lob that just caught the line.I think I got unbelievably lucky today. Lets be quite honest. I think he deserved it, Federer said. Could be my greatest escape thus far.As for the reason for his difficulties, the 17-time Grand Slam title winner pointed to his spell away from the tour.Midway through the third set I was like, yeah, I have been on vacation actually, so its normal that Im struggling, he said. I was trying to go for an all-time record of missed volleys tonight.Nadal was in so much pain from appendicitis earlier this week, he couldnt sleep, eat or even get out of bed for several days. After an aggressive course of antibiotics to control the inflammation, he felt healthy enough to play his opening match against Lopez. However, his shots lacked depth and power, and his serve didnt have its usual punch.Nadal said he felt a little dizzy from the antibiotics, but otherwise wasnt in a great deal of pain.Even today the doctors told me that I was very, very lucky that I did not have to go for surgery straight, can (treat) with antibiotics, he said. Pain I think is under control. Thats important. I think I was lucky for that. The 14-time major winner had just reeturned to the tour after two months on the sidelines with a wrist injury. Garrett Celek 49ers Jersey. Now he faces likely surgery to have his appendix removed, which could keep him out of the ATP Tour Finals in London next month. My answer today honestly is Im going to do it after the World Tour Finals. You never know. Depends how the things improve, he said. When you are on the bed for three days, the only thing you want to do is feel better, feel healthy again, and thats it.Murray and Djokovic also moved into the third round with wins.Murray has been on a roll over the last three weeks in China, winning nine of his last 10 matches as he tries to qualify for the ATP Finals. He defeated Jerzy Janowicz of Poland 7-5, 6-2.He next faces David Ferrer, another player fighting for a spot in the elite eight-man field. Ferrer rallied to beat Martin Klizan 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4.I havent been in this position for a while, so in some ways its kind of new, Murray said of the fight to qualify for London. But Im enjoying it so far. Just giving me a little bit of extra focus and direction for the last few tournaments. With Chinese basketball star Yao Ming in the stands, Djokovic extended his unbeaten streak in China to 26 straight matches with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Dominic Thiem of Austria, at 21, the youngest player in the top 50.Djokovic had never played Thiem before and he was impressed by the Austrians power game.I had to be on alert from the start because he was serving already 215 kilometres per hour (133 mph) in the first service games, he said. He was going for it. I dont blame him. Hes a young player, playing on centre court, its his opportunity to shine.Kei Nishikori and Stan Wawrinka were among a number of seeds to be knocked out.The fourth-seeded Wawrinka lost early for the second straight week, squandering a 3-0 lead in the final set before falling to Gilles Simon 5-7, 7-5, 6-4. He lost to 103rd-ranked Tatsuma Ito in the first round of the Japan Open last week.Wawrinka said hes struggled to maintain his focus since his breakthrough win at the Australian Open, causing the early losses to pile up.Its been an amazing year, but really tough, also, he said. Its not easy to stay at the top. You really have to find your way.For Nishikori, a dominant stretch of tennis finally caught up with him. Coming off back-to-back titles in Kuala Lumpur and Tokyo, the Japanese star was bothered by pain in his hip and back in his match against big-serving American Jack Sock, losing 7-6 (5), 6-4.Other winners include Tomas Berdych, Julien Benneteau and John Isner. With files from The Canadian Press. EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers seem to have solved their problems in net and have been getting some positive results because of it. Kenny Stabler Raiders Jersey . Jordan Eberle had a pair of goals and an assist and Viktor Fasth made 28 saves as the Oilers continued to put crimps in other teams playoff plans, coming away with a 5-1 victory over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. Sam Gagner, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Taylor Hall also scored for the Oilers (25-36-9), who have won two in a row and gone 10-4-3 in their past 17 games, and at least temporarily moved past Florida into third-last in the NHL. Much of the progress the Oilers have made of late has been since trading Devan Dubnyk and Ilya Bryzgalov away and bringing in Fasth and Ben Scrivens. "There are no soft goals with them," Hall said. "Im sure everyone around the room will tell you. You just play with more confidence. You arent afraid to make that little play that could turn into a big offensive chance when you know that you have guys like Viktor and Ben back there. It is a huge boost going into games knowing that we are going to give up chances, but we have good goalies in net." Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins said his new goaltending tandem has made an immediate impact. "Its been perfect," he said. "The great thing is I think they have become friends right away and are helping and supporting each other, which is so important. There is competition going on at the same time. The better the one plays spurs on the other and they are just going to keep pulling each other to the top. Our goaltending has just been fabulous." Gabriel Bourque replied for the Predators (29-30-10) who have lost two in a row and are in serious jeopardy of missing the playoffs for the second year in a row as they are nine points out of the last post-season berth in the West with just 13 games remaining on the schedule. "It wasnt a good effort, we didnt do too many good things out there, we turned the puck over," said Nashville assistant captain Mike Fisher. "We didnt do too many good things defensively and they buried them when they got chances. They played pretty well." Predators head coach Barry Trotz said it was not the kind of effort his team can afford to have right now. "I just thought that we didnt have enough urgency from enough guys and we need guys to step up," he said. "I thought our best players were some of our young guys. We have to give our goalie some run support, we have to be better defensively than that and our special teams have to be at least even every night." Nashville goalie Pekka Rinne allowed five goals on 26 shots and was pulled midway through the third period. "It was obviously not the best game for myself," he said. "Im disappointed for sure. Its the way it goes I guess once in a while, but its not acceptable. Its a little bit embarrassing too, but its over with now." The game started on a rough note just 48 seconds in as Predators defenceman Ryan Ellis pasted Eberle into the boards on a cross-check from behind, igniting a scrum. The Predators came close with five minutes remaining in the first period as they took a bit of a surprise shot on Oilers goalie Viktor Fasth that he got a piece of with his glove before looking like an offensive lineman and preventing Patric Hornqvist from getting to the rebound in the crease. Edmonton broke the scoreless deadlock with 35 seconds left in the opening frame as the rebound from a Martin Marincin point shot came to Gagner in the blue paint and he hooked a backhand shot past Predators goalie Pekka Rinne. It was just Gagners eighth goal of the season. The Preds came close to tying the game four minutes into the second, but a Nick Spaling shot rang off the post. Edmonton made it a 2-0 game eight minutes into the second as Eberle made a long cross-ice pass through traffic on the power play to Nugent-Hopkins, who wrested a shot that went off the tip of Rinnes glove and in. It was the 16th goal of the season for Nugent-Hopkins, breaking a 15-game scoreless drought. The Oilers took a three-goal lead on a bit of an unusual play with five minutes left in the second period as Hall took a backhand golf swing of a shot that found the top corner and quickly exited the net. Play continued for 1:17 before the Oilers took a penalty and they were able to review the shot and determine it was a goal. "I thought I saw the net bulge," Hall said. "The ref was standing right there with a really good vantage point and I thought if it was in that he would have seen it. It was a weird shift keeping going after that when you think you have scored and you are just hoping for a whistle to blow to see if you have a goal or not." Nashville got on the board with 1:21 remaining in the second as Hornqvist took the puck behind the net before hooking it in front to Bourque, who sent a shot through traffic to beat Fasth. Edmonton made it 4-1 eight-and-a-half minutes into the third period with another power-play goal. Anton Lander picked up his first point of the season on a nice feed to Eberle at the side of the net as he lifted a backhand shot that ticked off of Rinne and in. Eberle scored his second goal of the game just 1:23 later, breaking into the Nashville zone with speed and scoring his 23rd of the season on a low backhand shot. "We have been trying to get some confidence in little things and tonight we started to bear down and found some ways to score, especially on the power play," Eberle said. "It definitely gives you some confidence and it was nice to get out of the hole there." Rinne was replaced by backup Carter Hutton for the remainder of the game. The Predators play the second match of their four-game road trip in Vancouver on Wednesday night. The Oilers welcome the Buffalo Sabres for the second game of their six-game homestand on Thursday. Notes: It was the third and final meeting of the season between Edmonton and Nashville. The Oilers also won the two previous games by a combined score of 8-1a Including the Nashville game, 10 of Edmontons final 13 games are at homea Edmonton goalie Viktor Fasth made his home debut in net for the Oilers after being acquired the day before the trade deadline from the Anaheim Ducksa Predators defenceman Roman Josi entered the game with four assists in his previous three games. ...
