DETROIT -- James Ihedigbos hard work has paid off. wholesale jerseys . The Detroit Lions signed Ihedigbo to a $3.1 million, two-year contract, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. The person, who said the deal included a $750,000 signing bonus, spoke to The Associated Press on Thursday on condition of anonymity because the terms had not been announced. Ihedigbo earned a spot in the NFL after being an undrafted free agent and a walk-on in college. The Lions plan to put him in the starting lineup next to safety Glover Quin to replace Louis Delmas, who they released last month. Ihedigbo ranked second in tackles for Baltimore Ravens last season and had three interceptions after having one in his previous five years in the league. He will be reunited with first-year coach Jim Caldwell and defensive co-ordinator Teryl Austin, both of whom were assistant coaches last year in Baltimore. He started 12 games in 2011 for the New England Patriots and had 67 tackles, ranking fifth on the team. Ihedigbo made his NFL debut with the New York Jets during the 2008 season. He was cut by the Jets the previous year as an undrafted rookie, who went from being a walk-on to a standout at Massachusetts. Detroit seems to have accomplished its major goals so far this off-season. The Lions signed former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Golden Tate and ex-New Orleans Saints fullback Jed Collins as free agents. They also re-signed running back Joique Bell, tight end Brandon Pettigrew and centre Dominic Raiola. The franchise will likely shift its focus on contract talks with defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who is scheduled to count more than $20 million against the salary cap in 2014. With eight wins in the past nine games, the Pacers have displayed their outstanding defence, allowing 82 or fewer points in five of those eight wins. Its been a while since the last update (due in part to holidays and technical issues with a location move), so there have been some dramatic moves, highlighted by the Toronto Raptors vaulting from 28 all the way up to 10. That the Raptors have gone 10-5 in the past 15 games, with entirely respectable losses at Miami and Indiana most recently, is one thing, but the softness of the teams below the top tier is what makes it possible for such a huge move up the list. Other teams moving up include the New Orleans Pelicans, with a healthy Anthony Davis, going from 16 to 11 and, also getting healthier, the Washington Wizards are up from 17 to 12. The Sacramento Kings, with solid play from small forward Rudy Gay move from 26 to 20. Heading the other direction, the Los Angeles Clippers drop from six to 13, due largely to Chris Pauls shoulder injury. The Detroit Pistons have lost seven of eight and fall from 15 to 22; the injury-ravaged Los Angeles Lakers have lost eight of nine games and sink from 18 to 23 while the Orlando Magic have lost seven of nine, as well as starting centre Nikola Vucevic, and land at 29, from 19 in the previous update. LOUISVILLE, Ky. Cani Atletico Madrid Jersey . - Rory McIlroy is making this PGA Championship feel like 2000 all over again at Valhalla. Back then, it was Tiger Woods who was making the game look easy as he started to pile up majors. Now its McIlroy, the 25-year-old from Northern Ireland who produced superior shots with his long game and made all the right putts Friday for a 4-under 67 that gave him a one-shot lead over Jason Day and Jim Furyk. Catch third round coverage of the PGA Championship on TSN, Saturday at 11am et/8am pt. You can also see Par 3 and marquee group coverage on TSN.ca. "When Im playing like this, its obviously very enjoyable," McIlroy said. "I cant wait to get back out on the course again tomorrow and do the same thing all over again." For Woods, such feelings are becoming distant memories. He missed two short putts early — one for birdie, one for bogey — and looked as if he should never have tried to play the final major of the year with a sore back. Two birdies on his last three holes only kept it from being worse. Woods shot another 74 and missed the cut in a major for the fourth time. "I tried as hard as I could," Woods said. "Thats about all I got." Oddly enough, McIlroy opened with the exact same scores (66-67) as Woods did 14 years ago at Valhalla, when he barely outlasted Bob May in a playoff for his third straight major of the season on his way to an unprecedented sweep of golfs biggest events. McIlroy, who was at 9-under 133, isnt nearly at that stage. And his competition going into the weekend is a little more experienced. Furyk, a former U.S. Open champion who was runner-up last year at the PGA, got up-and-down from behind the green on the par-5 18th for birdie and a 68. Moments earlier, Day capped off the best round of a soggy day with a birdie on the 18th for a 65. Day has three runner-up finishes in the majors. Right behind were Ryan Palmer (70) and Rickie Fowler (66), a runner-up in the last two majors. Even so, McIlroy is dangerous when he gets in the lead, especially at a major. He learned his lesson at Augusta National in 2011 when he tried to protect a four-shot lead and wound up shooting 80. He bounced back for an eight-shot win at the U.S. Open, won the PGA Championship by a record eight shots a year later and only last month went wire-to-wire to win the third leg of the career Grand Slam at the British Open. "My mindset has stayed the same since that day at Augusta," McIlroy said. "If Im two ahead going into the weekend here, Im going to try to get three ahead. And if Im three ahead, Im going to try to get four ahead. ... Im just going to try to keep the pedal down and get as many ahead as possible." He didnt take his first lead until the par-5 18th hole, the midway point of his round. McIlroy blasted his driver and couldnt quite see where it went against a cloudy sky. "Is it good?" he asked caddie. "Beautiful," was all J.P. Fitzgerald said. McIlroy hit 4-iron to the front of the green, and his eagle putt rammed into the back of the cup as if it had nowhere else to go. It was a moment where the No. 1 player in the world looked as if he had just seized control of the PGA Championship. Except it wasnt that easy. In sloppy conditions, McIlroy took bogey on the tough par-4 second hole, and then had to scramble for four straight pars. But on the par-5 seventh, after another big tee shot on the left side of the fairway, he hit a 5-wood over the water to 8 feet, a shot that reminded everyone why hes the class of golf. That was one of the few putts he missed — he still made birdie — and McIlroy finished with a 15-foot birdie on the final hole. "When he hits the driver that straight and that long, and the short game is incredible, its very difficult to beat him," U.S. Open champion Martin Kaymer said. "His iron shots, they are very solid. He doesnt miss many golf shots. So you just have to respect it a lot, how good he plays. Theres nothing wrong with his game." Fowler saw it during the final round at Royal Liverpool last month. He knows what kind of work is left for the guys chasing him. It can be done. But they might need some help from McIlroy. "Hes the best player in the world right now," Fowler said. "And I would say a lot of that is his confidence right now with the way hes driving the ball. If he continues to drive it, hes going to continue to be in contention at a lot of golf tournaments and win a lot of times." Maybe. But the final major is only at the halfway mark. Day has been battling injuries to his wrist ever since winning the Match Play Championship, and he was pleasantly surprised to be in the hunt at another major. He is explosive, much like McIlroy, minus the experience of winning. The Australian showed that on the final holes with a wedge to 6 feet on the 450-yard 17th hole, and a nifty up-and-down over a bunker on the 18th. "Im clearly not the favourite," Day said. "Its going to be tough to beat him. But then again, theres a lot of great golfers behind us that are in form, as well." Woods had a one-shot lead over Scott Dunlap going into the weekend at Valhalla in 2000. Of the dozen players behind him that year, only Davis Love III had won a major. This leaderboard is more compelling. It even includes Phil Mickelson, who made eagle on the last hole for a 67 and was three shots behind. It just doesnt include Woods, who ended a sixth consecutive season without winning a major. And lately, he hasnt even been close. Guilherme Siqueira Atletico Madrid Jersey . The Prince George Cougars and Regina Pats have both entered agreements to transfer ownership, the WHL said Wednesday in a statement. Tiago Mendes Jersey . -- Third baseman David Freese has been put on the 15-day disabled list by the Los Angeles Angels because of a broken right middle finger. http://www.soccerauthentic.com/sweden-viktor-claesson-jersey/ . Felix-Antoine Savage and Tyler Boland also scored for the Oceanic (45-15-7) and Philippe Desrosiers made 22 saves for the victory. Adam Chapman forced overtime for the Remparts (38-17-12) when he scored at 19:47 of the third period while playing 6-on-5. WASHINGTON -- Paul George forced Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel to leave him on the court. George took -- and made -- the key shots, to the tune of a career playoff-high 39 points. He grabbed rebounds, 12 in all. He guarded the Wizards most dangerous scorer. When there was a loose ball, it was George diving to the floor to collect it. In sum, the tireless George willed the up-and-down Pacers within one victory of a return trip to the Eastern Conference finals, playing every second of the final three quarters as Indiana erased a 19-point deficit to beat Washington 95-92 Sunday night. "I kept wanting to try to get him a rest, and he kept saying, No," Vogel said. "And usually Ill override that, but he kept making big shots, too." Roy Hibbert had 17 points and nine rebounds, continuing his recent surge after a poor-as-can-be, zero-point, zero-rebound showing in Game 1. He responded with 28 points in Game 2, then 14 in Game 3, before helping Indiana win its third consecutive game Sunday, when Hibbert said he got a motivational boost from what he called a heckling fan. "He woke me up," Hibbert said. "He said I was tired. He was saying a lot of obscenities. Im a God-fearing man, so Im not going to go ahead and say what he was saying." After dropping Game 1, the Pacers have won three in a row to go up 3-1 and can close out the best-of-seven series at home Tuesday night. Only eight teams in NBA history have blown that lead. "Weve got a chance to make something happen," said Washingtons Bradley Beal, who was hounded at the defensive end by George and worked hard to get his 20 points. Beal might be right, but Washington better figure out how to limit George, who averaged 14.5 points in Games 1 and 2, but ramped that up with 23 Friday. And he was not about to let Vogel put him on the sideline down the stretch Sunday. In all, George played 46 minutes, and he scored 28 points after halftime. "I already had it in my head that I was pretty much going to go the whole distance," George said. "There was a moment where I was pretty gassed, but that second wind kicked in." The Wizards were up 17 at halftime, thhen made it 57-38 on Nenes basket to open the third quarter. Saul Niguez Atletico Madrid Jersey. But Washington showed a propensity this season for blowing double-digit leads -- the Wizards lost 11 games after being up by at least 10 points -- and again fell apart. "We never panicked," Pacers forward David West said. Georges 3 with 5 1/2 minutes left made it 85-79, and another 30 seconds later made it 85-82, giving him seven from beyond the arc, matching a franchise post-season mark held by Reggie Miller and Chuck Person. George also helped the Pacers limit the Wizards to one field goal over the final 7 1/2 minutes. John Wall gave Washington its last lead at 91-90 with about 2 minutes to go. George pushed Indiana back in front with two foul shots, and the Pacers forced a shot-clock violation. Hibbert made a 12-foot turnaround hook shot with 1:02 remaining to put the Pacers up 94-91, and sprinted down the court, his arms spread, his smile wide. Left all alone, Wall passed up an open 3-pointer, instead sending the ball to Beal, who missed a 3 try with under 50 seconds left. "Thats what the play was for, and I made the right decision," Wall said. The Pacers are playing much more like the team that pushed the Miami Heat to seven games in last seasons conference finals, and the one that earned the No. 1 seeding by going 46-13 at the start of this season. Theyre looking less like the bunch that went 10-13 down the stretch this year, then needed seven games to sneak past Atlanta in the first round. "We go through ups and downs, and highs and lows," said Hibbert, who scored two points before halftime, 15 after. Whats clear is this: When Paul is at his best, the Pacers are, too. "Paul is Paul. You know that youre going to get 150 per cent every time hes on the court," Hill said. "He knows hes the go-to guy on this team." NOTES: Georges previous post-season career best was 30 points. ... Wizards coach Randy Wittman likes to call his trio of not-yet-retired reserves -- Andre Miller, 38; Al Harrington, 34; Drew Gooden, 32 -- the "AARP group," but they helped produce a 32-2 bench scoring edge for the hosts. EUGENE, Ore. Brian Gionta Sabres Jersey . -- Heading into halftime locked at 14-all with UCLA, No. 2 Oregon didnt panic. The Ducks knew theyd eventually wear down the No. 14 Bruins. Because thats what they do. "We understand that our tempo is one of our greatest allies," sophomore quarterback Marcus Mariota said. Oregon went on to score 28 unanswered points in the second half and beat UCLA 42-14 on Saturday night. Byron Marshall ran for 133 yards and three touchdowns, Mariota threw for 230 yards and another score, and the Ducks (8-0, 5-0 Pac-12) racked up 555 yards in total offence compared to 283 for UCLA (5-2, 2-2). "We just had to keep chipping away," Mariota said. "We knew that if we kept getting 5- or 6-yard chunks, we were going to get into a rhythm." Brett Hundley completed 13 of 19 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown but also threw two interceptions, including one early in the fourth quarter that led to an Oregon touchdown. He also ran for 64 yards and a score. "That was a very disappointing loss," Bruins coach Jim Mora said. "We didnt come up here to play them close, we didnt come up here to give it the old college try. We came up here to win the game and we didnt get it done and its very disappointing." UCLA, which has now lost two straight after falling to Stanford last week, has not won at Autzen Stadium since 2004, and hasnt defeated the Ducks since a 16-0 blanking in 2007. The two teams last met in 2011, when Oregon downed UCLA 49-31 in the inaugural Pac-12 championship game. The Ducks are the highest ranked opponent the Bruins have faced since they played the No. 1-ranked Ducks in the 2010 season. Last weekend UCLA fell 24-10 to No, 13 Stanford. Oregon, ranked No. 3 in the initial BCS rankings released last weekend, was coming off a 62-38 victory at home over Washington State. The Ducks have played one other game against a ranked opponent this season --a 45-24 victory over then-No. 16 Washington at Husky Stadium. "In the first half we had a couple of runs wed like to have back, and a we had a couple of throws wed like to have back," Ducks coach Mark Helfrich said. "But we finished right where we wanted to finish." Oregon got off to a poor start, stymied by its own mistakes and UCLAs stout defence. On the Ducks second play from scrimmage, Keanon Lowe fumbled a pass from Mariota. The turnover led to Hundleys 4-yard touchdown run to give the Bruins the early lead. But Rodney Hardrick ran 66 yards on a fake punt and DeAnthony Thomas finished it off with a 1-yard dive for an Oregon touchdown to even the score. Thomas had missed the last three games after injuring his right ankle on the opening kickoff in Oregons 55-16 victory over California on Sept. 28, slipping on turf slick from a driving rain. Thomas was the Ducks leading rusher with 338 yards and six touchdowns in three games before he was injured. He finished with 31 yards rushing against the Bruins. Oregon went ahead 14-7 early in the second quarter with a 40-yard scoring run from Marshall, a sophomore who took over as starter in Thomas absence. Alejandro Maldonados punt for the Ducks was blocked late in the half, putting UCLA in Oregon territory. The Bruins capitalized on Hundleys 11-yard scoring pass to Thomas Duarte to even the game at 14. Midway through the third quarter, Mariota fumbled on first-and-goal at the UCLA 5, but the Bruins were forced to punt and the Ducks quickly responded with Marshalls 11-yard touchdown run. Avery Patterson intercepted Hundley early in the fourth quarter and the Ducks went on to score on Mariotas 8-yard pass to Bralon Addison. Marshall added a 3-yard touchdown dash with 8:47 left and freshman Thomas Tyner ran for a 2-yard TD with 2:25 to go for the final margin. It was Marshalls fifth straight game with at least 100 yards rushing this season. The Bruins were without junior tailback Jordon James, who missed his third straight game with an ankle injury. He had run for more than 100 yards in each of the Bruins first three games. The Bruins were also dealing with injuries on their offensive line, and as a result the team started three true freshman: Alex Redmond at right guard, Caleb Benenoch at right tackle and Scott Quessenberry at left guard. The Bruins have played 17 true freshmen this season. "I told the guys we played hard, but playing hard is not enough. Weve got to get to the point of the football where we play efficiently, where we dont make mistakes at critical times, where we run the right route, we block the right guy, we keep the right leverage, we make the tackle," Mora said. "We have to be able to get to the point as a football where we do the things on a consistent basis that champions do. Were not there yet." Josh Gorges Jersey . Myers had an inside-the-park homer, his latest big blow against the New York Yankees, and drove in four runs as the Tampa Bay Rays battered an ineffective CC Sabathia in a 5-1 victory Sunday. Ryan OReilly Jersey . -- Center Max Unger and tight end Zach Miller are both probable for the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday against the New York Giants and Percy Harvins recovery continues to be slow. http://www.sabreshockeyshop.us/Alexander-Mogilny-Jersey/ . The off-track strife has obscured the sporting promise provided by the season opener in Australia. The race in Melbourne defied those naysayers worried about the reliability of the new V6 turbo engines by having 15 finishers and a welcome shake-up to the sports pecking order; Sebastian Vettel out of the race early, Mercedes winning but with lingering engine concerns, and McLaren and even Williams back in the fight.TORONTO - As over 20,000 shell-shocked Raptors fans finally exhaled, juggling their emotions after a bizarre evening at the Air Canada Centre, Dwane Casey laced into his team in a nearby locker room. His post-game pep talk will "remain in-house", which usually means it was R-rated in nature. Did this feel like a win, Amir Johnson was asked after it was all said and done. "Of course," he exclaimed, taking issue with the question. "What? Yes! Did I check the box score wrong? We definitely won." "Does it feel like a win? What?" The box score read 115-113, a pivotal win for the Raptors, who took a 3-2 series lead Wednesday and now sit on the cusp of advancing to the Conference Semifinals, but you wouldnt know if from taking in the head coachs post-game discourse. "You wouldnt want to hear it," Casey said, asked about his emotions as his team squandered a 26-point lead in allowing the Nets to score 44 during a fourth-quarter collapse that was very nearly fatal. "We just didnt play smart. They are a very veteran team, they are going to take advantage of the mistakes you make. We wrote the book on the mistakes in the fourth quarter." "Every mistake that you could think about, we made in the fourth quarter." Just about. The Raptors lead was 22 going into the final frame before their previously spotless performance began to unravel in a hurry. With a lineup of Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and reserves Andray Blatche, Mirza Teletovic and Alan Anderson for all but eight seconds in the quarter, the Nets hit 13 of their 21 shots, including five of nine attempts from three-point range. They got into the paint and to the line at will, putting on a clinic offensively. Veterans Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett did not play a second. With just over three minutes remaining, Torontos nightmare became reality. The sellout crowd that had rocked the building all night, the mob of white-shirted Raptor zealots that shouted "Broooook-lyn" minutes earlier - mimicking a chant made famous at Nets home games - they went dead silent. The Nets Johnson drained a three to tie the game and Toronto was on the ropes. Visions of their franchise-worst 27-point collapse in a December loss to Golden State flashed through everyones mind. Infamous Raptors losses of the oh-so-painful past, the beloved Maple Leafs and their tragic Game 7 demise. The city has seen it all. So how would this team let them down? Toronto led by five with nine seconds left, a semi-comfortable scenario provided they refrain from doing something uncommonly foolish. Just dont give up a three or commit a foul. Naturally, they did both. As Williams swung the ball to Anderson in the corner, the Raptors Johnson lunged at him, committing his sixth foul and surrendering the rare four-point play, Brooklyns second of the quarter. With six second to go, the Raptors now up by three, Casey opted to play it safe and send Blatche to the line for two shots. The right call. Intentionally missing the second free throw, Blatche was able to secure his own rebound before letting the Raptors off the hook in tossing the ball away. "We cant livve that way," said an irate Casey after the game. Rick Martin Jersey. "We cant make this many mental mistakes." Buzzer sounds and the Raptors win. The Raptors win? They had mucked it up in just about every way you could imagine, like a greatest hits of Raptor blunders, but they pulled it out. If that seems out of character with what weve come to expect from this franchise, so be it. Isnt that just the perfect representation of a season, an improbably playoff run that defies all semblance of logic? "We made some boneheaded mistakes," Johnson admitted, "but we finished off the game and thats all that really matters." This is a different team producing different results and a point guard who has a lot to do with that change in fortune. "Honestly, hes a hell of player, man," DeMar DeRozan said of Kyle Lowry, who scored 36 points, a playoff career-high, also matching the most hes ever scored in an NBA game. "Hes just a dog. He makes you want to bring your A-game every single night because you know hes going to lay it out there with them." With DeRozan blanketed by multiple defenders all night, Lowry took over. Tied with a minute left, Lowry hit the biggest shot of the night, a step-back three-pointer, followed by another dagger from inside the paint on the subsequent possession. "Sometimes it calls for that situation," said the point guard. "Usually its [DeRozan] doing that but tonight the way they played him it gave me an opportunity to get to the basket and get some shots off down the stretch. Our teammates count on me and him to make the right decisions, make the big plays and tonight it was fortunate enough they were guarding him tightly and I got it going a little bit." Lowry wouldnt let his team lose, willing them to their most important victory of the campaign, and no one seems the least bit surprised, nor should they. "Every time hes out there on the floor Im going to give it my best effort," DeRozan added, "because I know hes going to do the same." "We know theres not going to be no big blowouts either way because both teams are going to fight until the end," he continued. "It just shows you how much weve matured over the season and understanding what we have to do to stay in games and closeout games." DeRozan became the first Raptors player to reach the 20-point plateau in four straight playoff games since Vince Carter in 2001, scoring 23 on Wednesday thanks in large part to another impressive showing from the free throw line, where he was 12-for-13. For the first time in nearly 13 years that Raptors have taken the advantage in a playoff series, now they look to close it out in Brooklyn on Friday. "Were happy we won today but weve got to do a better job Friday," said Jonas Valanciunas, who had 16 points and six rebounds Wednesday. "Were here, were excited about being in the playofffs, somewhere we havent been before, a young team, expecting mistakes," Casey said. "Weve got to crack the whip and learn from it. This is a hell of a time to start learning, going into Game 6 of the playoffs." ATLANTA -- A long rain delay and extra innings tested the Washington Nationals mental and physical strength. Rene Bourque Blue Jackets Jersey . Matt Williams said he was impressed his NL East-leading team finally found a way to win. Wilson Ramos bases-loaded single sparked Washingtons three-run 11th inning, and the Nationals beat the Atlanta Braves 4-1 on Saturday night. The start of the game was delayed by 3 hours, 41 minutes, and the final out wasnt recorded until Sunday at 2:29 a.m. "Considering all that happened today and the way we had to fight through the last couple of days, it was pretty good for us," Williams said. "We fought all the way." It was the Braves ninth loss in 10 games. The Nationals increased their lead in the division over Atlanta to 4 1/2 games. Anthony Rendon and Adam LaRoche led off the 11th with singles against David Carpenter (4-2). After left fielder Justin Upton made a leaping catch of Ian Desmonds liner, James Russell walked Bryce Harper to load the bases. Ramos then drove in Rendon with a single up the middle off Anthony Vavaro, Atlantas third pitcher of the inning. Devin Frandsens double to right field drove in two runs to make it 4-1. Ramos was initially ruled safe at home on the play, but the call was overturned following a replay challenge by Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez. Tyler Clippard (7-2) pitched a scoreless 10th inning, and Rafael Soriano got three outs for his 26th save in 30 chances. The Braves, who snapped an eight-game losing streak Friday night with a 7-6 win over the Nationals, were frustrated by leaving 11 runners on base. More offensive struggles wasted a strong start by Aaron Harang, who allowed one run in seven innings. "Its tough, especially against a team that we know were trying to make up ground on," Harang said. LaRoches homer in the sixth gave Washington a 1-0 lead, but the Braves tied it in the bottom half. Washingtons Tanner Roark and Harang opened with five scoreless innings before LaRoche led off the sixth with his 16th homer. The Braves settled for one run after loading the bases with no outs in the sixth. Tommy La Stella scored on Jason Heywards broken-bat fly ball to shallow centre field. Roark also lasted seven innings, allowing one run, six hits and three walks. BOOS FOR BRYCE Nationals outfielder Bryce Harper, booed consistently by Braves fans, might have tried to send a message back to the fans by scraping his cleat over the Atlanta "A" carved into the dirt behind the batters box, as if trying to scuff it. Fans responded with more boos. SPAN THE MAN Denard Spans fifth-inning triple gave him a 13-game hitting streak. He has reached base in 35 consecutive games, a streak that began on June 28. ALUMNI SOFTBALL Newly inducted Hall of Famer Greg Maddux, and Chipper Jones were among the former Braves players who played in a legends softball game. Jones, wearing shorts and striped socks, homered in his first at-bat. Maddux settled for a double. John Rocker and Ryan Klesko were among other players to easily clear the short fence for homers. TRAINERS ROOM Nationals: Right fielder Jayson Werth was scratched from the lineup as he continues to be slowed by a sore right ankle and right shoulder. He walked as a pinch-hitter in the 11th and should start on Sunday night, according to Williams. ... Outfielder Steven Souza, who hurt his shoulder in a collision with the right-field wall and left Fridays game, entered as a pinch-runner for Werth. Braves: Shortstop Andrelton Simmons sprained left ankle is improving. Gonzalez said Simmons might play by Tuesday. Simmons was no longer wearing a soft cast, but had the ankle wrapped. ... Right-hander Shae Simmons, on the disabled list with a right shoulder strain since July 27, said he "felt really good today" throwing in the outfield. He still hasnt thrown off a mound. UP NEXT Nationals: Left-hander Gio Gonzalez will try to end a streak of four straight losses in his last five starts at Turner Field on Sunday night. He won his first two career starts in Atlanta before a long string of bad luck. Gonzalez has received one run of support in each of his last five starts in Atlanta. Braves: Left-hander Alex Wood will look for his first win since July 20. Wood is 0-2 in his last three starts, dropping him to 7-9 with a 3.20 ERA for the season. Wood is 1-1 with a 2.25 ERA in two starts against Washington this season. http://www.bluejacketshockeyshop.us/Rene-Bourque-Jersey/ . He doesnt need to win the race to claim a bigger prize. With a massive 90-point lead over Ferraris Fernando Alonso in the drivers standings, the German needs only to finish fifth or better to claim a fourth successive world championship title and become the third man to achieve the feat, joining Formula One greats Juan Manuel Fangio and Michael Schumacher. Columbus Blue Jackets Jersey . Artem Anisimov scored a short-handed goal late in the second period and special teams provided four goals in the Blue Jackets 6-3 win over the Florida Panthers on Saturday. http://www.bluejacketshockeyshop.us/Sergei-Bobrovsky-Jersey/ . Zdeno Chara and Jarome Iginla scored for Boston. The Bruins took over the top spot in the Eastern Conference with 93 points, one more than Pittsburgh.Brazil wary of Chile threat (TSN 1050, TSN 690, TSN 1200, TEAM 1410) South American rivals Brazil and Chile open up the second round of the World Cup at the Estadio Mineirao on Saturday in an intriguing contest. It is also a matchup that Brazil head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari believes will be a serious test for his side. "If I could choose another opponent, I would," Scolari said a few days ago when asked about playing Chile. "I think theyre the trickiest side we could have been drawn against. They have everything." Chile advanced to the knockout round from a difficult Group B that included the Netherlands, Spain and Australia. La Roja started its tournament with wins over Australia and Spain to book a place in the next round before sitting a few key players in the group finale against the Netherlands, which topped Chile, 2-0, to win the group. One of the players that Chile head coach Jorge Sampaoli decided to rest against the Dutch was midfielder Arturo Vidal, who underwent knee surgery prior to the start of the tournament and who is expected to come straight back into the lineup against the hosts on Saturday. Vidal, along with Alexis Sanchez and Charles Aranguiz, will provide the biggest offensive threats for Chile, which will hope to exploit a Brazil back line that tends to get forward a lot and could be susceptible to counter attacks. As expected, Brazil finished atop Group A after wins over Croatia and Cameroon and a 0-0 draw with Mexico. The Selecao netted seven goals in three group-stage matches, including four from star forward Neymar, despite not appearing to hit top gear. Now, Scolari knows his team must take its play to the next level to get past a tough Chile side. "I hope that Chile dont qualify for the last 16," the coach said back in December after the draw for the World Cup. "I would prefer to face any other side. They are intelligent and their style of play doesnt suit us. It would be better to play against a European team." Scolari didnt get his wish, but his team may be able to exploit a height advantage against Chile to get to the quarterfinals. Against Australia in the group stage, Chiles shorter defenders struggled to cope with the aerial threat of Tim Cahill, while the Dutch scored on a header from Leroy Fer in the second half of the group finale to take the lead. Brazil should be a real threat from any set-piece opportunity in the attacking third with players like Fred, David Luiz and Thiago Silva able to get on the other end of crosses. Neymar has been as good as advertised so far, while Brazils threat in the air will also pose a stiff challenge for the Chileans. A win for Chile would give the club its first berth in the quarterfinals at a World Cup since 1962, and Sanchez is confident that his side will make history. "We have respect for them [Brazil] but I think we are going to beat them," he said. "We came to this World Cup to make history. We beat the world champions and, although we had a slip-up against Holland, we are going out to try and win the Cup." Colombia squares off with Suarez-less Uruguay (TSN 1050, TSN 1200, TEAM 1410) Uruguay has attracted plenty of attention at the 2014 World Cup, and not always for the right reasons, but the team will attempt to put its distractions aside against an impressive Colombia outfit at the Maracana on Saturday in the round of 16. David Savard Jersey. . Uruguay forward Luis Suarez has been a lightning rod for attention in Brazil, first sitting out his teams 3-1 defeat to Costa Rica after knee surgery, and then making a triumphant return against England that saw him score twice in a 2-1 Uruguay win. But the Liverpool striker stunned the soccer world by biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini in the second half of Uruguays 1-0 win in the group-stage finale to book a place in the second round. Suarez was not punished on the field, but FIFAs Disciplinary Committee came down hard on him after reviewing the incident, banning Suarez for nine international matches and from all football-related activity for four months. The loss of Suarez will put added pressure on forward Edinson Cavani, whose only goal so far in the tournament was a penalty kick in the opening match. Veteran Diego Forlan is expected to come in for Suarez, but this team has so far looked like a much different side with Suarez in the lineup than without him. Uruguay needed a win over Italy in its final Group D match to advance, and it wasnt Suarez who provided the difference, rather it was defender Diego Godin. The Atletico Madrid man scored the goal that clinched La Liga for his side in the final game of the season in May, while he also put Atletico ahead with a goal in the Champions League final. And he popped up once again to head home the winning goal against Italy in the final 10 minutes. "We didnt make it easy for ourselves, starting the way we did, and it was a miracle that we pulled it off in the end," Godin said of his team finally securing a place in the knockout round. "Now we can start thinking about the last 16, but no further. We respect everyone but fear no one." Godin will need to be on top of his game defensively if Uruguay is to reach the quarterfinals because his team is coming up against a Colombia side that has been one of the most impressive at the tournament so far. The Colombians won all three of their group-stage matches by a combined score of 9-2, with midfielder James Rodriguez turning in an especially impressive performance. The 22-year-old Monaco man has netted three goals with three assists so far, and along with Juan Cuadrado, Teofilo Gutierrez and Jackson Martinez, Godin and Uruguay will have their hands full. Colombia has also enjoyed some incredibly vocal support from its fans, making its three group matches feel like home games according to 21-year-old midfielder Juan Quintero. "Its like were playing in Barranquilla," Quintero said of the support Colombia has received. "The fans are 100 percent behind us and that makes us feel great. Were playing for our people and we want to make them as happy as we can." A win over Uruguay on Saturday would no doubt please Colombian supporters, especially since it would mark the first time that Colombia has ever advanced to the quarterfinals at a World Cup. LONDON -- Manchester United is projecting it will generate more than $660 million this season after breaking its revenue record while winning a 20th English title. Brad Evans USA Jersey . United pointed on Wednesday to the enduring success of its commercial operation in helping to maintain the club as a force globally, with further expansion planned in the United States in a bid to capitalize on footballs growth there. However, United is in a transition period as David Moyes has replaced Alex Ferguson after more than 26 years as manager. The 71-year-old Ferguson retired in May after the club won the Premier League. Moyes will be hoping the clubs financial strength will help him replicate the success of his predecessor. Controlled by the American-based Glazer family, United reported revenue rising by 13 per cent to 363.2 million pounds ($578 million) in the year to June 30. The club expects it to soar to between 420 million pounds ($669 million) and 430 million pounds ($686 million) in 2013-14. That would push United closer to Real Madrid, the biggest money-maker in world sport, which reported revenue of 520.9 million euros ($695 million) in 2012-13. United reported a net profit of 17.2 million pounds ($27 million) from 4.5 million pounds ($7 million) the year before, while the cash balance rose by a third to 94.4 million pounds ($151 million). Despite those healthy cash reserves, United made just one major signing during the summer transfer window, bringing midfielder Marouane Fellaini from Everton for 27.5 million pounds ($43 million) after missing out on more high-profile targets. United has opened its Premier League title defence with two wins, a draw and a loss to sit three points behind pacesetter Liverpool in fifth place. "Its not just a strong squad but a deep one," executive vice chairman Ed Woodward said on an investor call. Some fans, however, are still angry with the Glazers for heaping debt onto the club with their 2005 leveraged takeover. But the gross debt that hit 716.5 million pounds (then $1.1 billion) in 2008-09 stands at 389.2 million pounds ($622 million), having dropped 11 per cent in the last year alone. But the cost of serving those liabilities rose to 71 million pounds ($113 million) in the year. "We are comfortable with the leverage levels where we are," Woodward told investors. He said the club delivered on its targets and objectives during its first year listed on the New York Stock Exchange. "Our commercial business continues to be a very powerful engine of growth enabling the team to continue to be successful," Woodward said in a statement. "We won our 20th English League title last season and are delighted to have David Moyes lead our football team into a new and exciting chapter." Commercial income alone grew by 30 per cent during the year to 152.5 million pounds ($244 million) as 20 sponsorship deals , mainly region-specific backers. United hopes to profit from the appeal of the Red Devils branding in the U.S. where Woodward claims the number of TV viewers watching United is growing 30 to 35 per cent each year. "Its underpenetrated ...its the most developed sports market in the world," Woodward said, adding: "We dont want to do deals that are quick and wrong and tie us up." The Premier League has been buoyed by new television deals which are set to generate $8.5 billion over the next three seasons. United received 60.8 million pounds ($97 million) in broadcast revenue from the Premier League last season while winning the title. On the back of new TV deals, Woodward expects a 35 to 38 per cent increase for the club this season. Omar Gonzalez USA Jersey .J. -- The New York Giants have agreed to terms keeping linebacker Jon Beason on the roster. Graham Zusi Jersey .com) - Coming down the stretch of a lengthy road trip, the Vancouver Canucks aim to rebound from just their second loss in seven games on Sunday evening as they visit the Ottawa Senators. http://www.soccerusonline.com/world-cup-danny-williams-football-jersey/ .com) - Sam Gagner and Devan Dubnyk, two former Oilers, led the Arizona Coyotes to a 5-1 win in Edmonton Tuesday.Nashville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Barry Trotz received a warm welcome back from the Bridgestone Arena crowd in his return to Nashville. His former team didnt quite return the generosity, however. James Neal scored his second goal of the night with 1:40 remaining, capping a furious late comeback from the Predators that produced a 4-3 triumph over Trotzs Washington Capitals. Nashville overcame a 3-2 deficit by scoring twice in the final 4 1/2 minutes, with Mattias Ekholm netting the equalizer on the power play to help the Predators to their first five-game win streak in three years. Trotz was behind the bench for that run, as well as many others while serving as the Predators head coach for the franchises first 15 seasons of existence. Jermaine Jones USA Jersey. That tenure came to an end when he was fired at the conclusion of the 2013-14 campaign, shortly before taking over in Washington. Seth Jones added a goal an assist for Nashville, while Carter Hutton came up with 31 saves in his first start since the Predators announced standout goaltender Pekka Rinne would miss 3-to-5 weeks with a sprained knee. Alex Oveckhin notched a pair of goals in the loss, which halted a stretch of 10 straight games of recording at least one point for the Caps. Braden Holtby finished with 26 saves. LIVERPOOL, England -- Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard will miss the clubs pre-season Asian tour to continue his recovery from groin surgery. Cheap Jerseys Free shipping . The 31-year-old midfielder will continue his recuperation at Liverpools training ground while his teammates visit China, Malaysia and Singapore. The squad departs Sunday. "After sitting down and talking with the medical experts and technical staff, its been decided that the best course of action is for me to continue my rehabilitation program at Melwood," Gerrard said Tuesday. The England international has not played since March 6. Manager Kenny Dalglishs priority is to have Gerrard fit for the start of the Premier League season. "They are in the final stages of getting him back to full training," Dalglish said. "Im sure there will be supporters disappointed that Steven is unable to be with us in Asia but Im sure the same people will appreciate the importance of Steven giving himself the best possible opportunity of being fit to play against Sunderland on the opening day of the new campaign. "Steven continuing his rehabilitation program at Melwood is in everybodys long term interests." Gerrard started just 20 of 38 Premier League matches last season, compared to at least 30 in each of the previous five campaigns. Wholesale Jerseys Cheap . Trumbo, who was part of a three-way trade with the White Sox and Angels during the off-season, was tied for the NL lead with seven homers and second with 19 RBIs. Even for a team such as this, finishing off another title sweep is a feel-good accomplishment. Sam Dower Jr. had 20 points and 13 rebounds, and Gonzaga held its ground during a second-half rally to beat BYU 75-64 Tuesday night for its 13th WCC championship. MINNEAPOLIS -- Snow flakes and Christmas carols did nothing to cool off the surging Tampa Bay Rays. These boys from the Sunshine State looked right at home at snowy Target Field. Ben Zobrist tripled and drove in three runs Wednesday night as the Rays pounded Francisco Liriano in an 8-2 victory over the Minnesota Twins. Temperatures dipped below 4 C during the game and flurries turned the ballpark into a late-April snow globe. But the cold weather didnt bother the bundled up Rays one bit. They won for the 11th time in 14 games to jump over .500 for the first time this season. "We played like it was 75 and sunny," manager Joe Maddon said. Not even Santa Claus and a Christmas jingle could get the Twins going on this night. A fan dressed as jolly old St. Nick danced in the stands as "Jingle Bell Rock" played before the sixth inning, trying to make the best of a tough night for Liriano and the home team. Liriano (1-4) was chased in the fourth inning, allowing seven runs on six hits with four walks. His ERA swelled to 9.13, a far cry from the impressive comeback season he had last year. Wade Davis (3-2) allowed two runs on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts in 6 2-3 innings for the Rays (12-11). Luke Hughes had three hits for the Twins, whose pitchers walked nine hitters. "We didnt pitch," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said.. "Our lineup didnt do anything but the pitcher got us behind (7-1). That had nothing to do with our lineup. We had a couple chances to get a big hit and get a run too, but we didnt do that too." Twins defenders were left out to shiver for 17 minutes in the first inning while the Rays pounced on Liriano. Johnny Damon had an RBI single, Zobrist had a two-run triple and Sean Rodriguez followed with a single to get the home crowd booing their struggling left-hander, who needed 40 pitches to get through the inning. "That was kind of nasty but it felt a lot warmer after the first inning," Maddon said. Liriano gave up a leadoff single to Dan Johnson in the fourth, then walked Reid Briignac and Sam Fuld to load the bases, and he hit the showers without recording an out. Cheap Jerseys. Eric Hacker, who was scheduled to start in the second game of the doubleheader on Thursday, walked the first two batters to force in runs. Zobrist added a sacrifice fly to make it 7-1, and the brave souls who shrugged off the plunging temperatures started heading for the exits. After an 0-6 start, the AL East champion Rays have surged into second place in the division -- two games behind the Yankees -- mostly on the strength of their starting pitching. But the struggling offence topped six runs for the second time in three games. "The bats were hot even though we werent yet," Zobrist said of the Rays first inning. And help is on the way. All-star third baseman Evan Longoria will start a rehab assignment with Double-A Montgomery on Thursday and plans to rejoin the Rays in Tampa on Tuesday. Longoria hasnt played since the second game of the season, when he strained his left oblique. They will get little sympathy from Gardenhire, who had only one healthy bench player for the game. Delmon Young (ribs) was a late scratch and placed on the disabled list and Jim Thome (oblique) and Jason Repko (quad) also were unavailable. "Im worried about everybody, OK?" Gardenhire huffed. "We got two games tomorrow so we got a lot to worry about. Theres a lot to worry about when you got two ballgames and not very many on the bench." NOTES: The Twins optioned Hacker to Triple-A Rochester after the game and recalled RHP Anthony Swarzak, who will start Thursday night. ... Maddon was on the prowl for a good burger before the game. His eyes lit up when he was alerted to the presence of a Five Guys near the University of Minnesota campus, and said he may seek that out Thursday between games. ... Rays LHP J.P. Howell (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch for Class-A Charlotte on Thursday in his third appearance during his rehab assignment. ... Alex Ovechkin, the biggest hockey star in the arena, scored his league-leading 40th goal to give his team the lead in the third period. Set aside those two larger-than-life names for a moment, however, and look at the trio who occupy the score sheet for the crucial tying goal early in the third period of the Washington Capitals 4-2 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night. Patrick Wey (second NHL game). Julien Brouillette (first NHL game). Tom Wilson (second NHL goal). "It was a simple play, but it was nice that we ended up scoring," Wey said. "And Im really excited." Simple but effective. Wey passed cross-ice to Brouillette, who then deliberately shot wide of the net to set up a carom off the boards that eventually made its way to Wilson. "The play Brou made, banking it off the boards like that, I thought that was a great play," Washington coach Adam Oates said. "And obviously it worked, the bounce was right. ... It gave us a lot of life." Wey and Brouillette had arrived in town the night before, having been recalled from Hershey of the AHL to serve as the third defensive pairing because the Capitals had run out of healthy bodies. "From what I expected," Oates said, "they were fantastic." The Wey-Brouillette-Wilson goal made the score 2-2, setting the stage for Ovechkin. The Russian forward lifted the puck over a pile of bodies in the crease with 12:14 remaining, following up after Nicklas Backstrom had taken two whacks at a rebound before sliding into goaltender Ondrej Pavelec. Troy Brouwer then added his second goal of the game in the closing minutes, and Braden Holtby made 34 saves for the Capitals, who are trying to generate at least a modicum of momentum headed into the Olympic break. Washington had dropped 10 of its previous 13, including a 1-0 shutout loss to the New York Islanders on Tuesday. Bryan Little and Dustin Byfuglien scored, and Pavelec stopped 26 shots for the Jets, who had a three-game winning streak snapped. Winnipeg dominated play in the second period before allowing three goals in the third, dropping the team to 9-3 since coach Claude Noel was fired on Jan. 12 and replaced by Paul Maurice. "I think they just did a little bit to us what weve been doing to (other) teams," Maurice said. "They weathered that second-period storm." With the NHLs Olympic break beginning after Saturdays games, Kerry was on hand to recognize the four players from each team headed to Sochi. He then dropped the puck at centre ice between two U.S. Olympians, Winnipegs Blake Wheeler and Washingtons John Carlson. Kerry also met with Capitals coaches and players in the locker room before the game. "I had a good talk with him," Oates said. "But hes obviously a very busy man. He comes with his entourage; its pretty tough to have a chat." NOTES: Littles goal was actually put into the net by Washingtons Martin Erat, something the Czech forward has yet to do for his own team this season. Erat has 21 assists but no goals for the Capitals. ... Oates said Holtby was in goal because scheduled starter Michal Neuvirth wasnt feeling well. ... Brouillette and Wey were needed because D John Erskine (off-season knee surgery) was given a rest day and D Mike Green was still sidelined with a concussion. ... The result means Atletico Madrid now tops the table, with Madrid level on points in second and Barcelona a point behind in third with nine games remaining as the title race shapes up to be the closest in years. In a game that saw three penalties, a red card and a host of missed chances, Andres Iniesta set the tone by rocketing home an early opener, only for Karim Benzemas brace to put the hosts ahead by the 24th. The teams went into the break level at 2-2 after Messi slotted in an equalizer, only for Cristiano Ronaldo to re-establish Madrids lead with a 55th-minute penalty. But Messi scored a pair of penalties after that — including the 65th-minute equalizer after Sergio Ramos was sent off — to end Madrids 31-game unbeaten run stretching back to the last "clasico" in October. Atleticos 2-0 victory at last-place Real Betis earlier on Sunday means it leads Madrid on head-to-head with the city rivals level on 70 points. Barcelona is on 69 points. The high pace of play and buzzing atmosphere inside the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium left little doubt this was a "clasico" with much at stake. Messi spotted Iniestas run down the left side seven minutes in and slid a perfect ball clear into the area for him to lift into the top of goal to kickstart the memorable match. Madrid winger Angel Di Maria troubled right back Dani Alves throughout, especially when he twice set up Benzema with crosses from the left side, with the France striker nodding home the fiirst in the 20th before controlling the second to smash a right-footed volley beyond Victor Valdes. Cheap NCAA Jerseys. The goalkeeper got a glove to Benzemas opener but couldnt keep it out. The strengths and philosophies of each club were apparent as Barcelona looked to set the tempo through possession while Madrid always looked dangerous when breaking on the counter. Madrids defence nodded off when Neymar and Messis hopeful combination came to fruition and the Argentina star could equalize before halftime, with Benzema left ruing a number of missed chances that could have given Madrid control. Gareth Bales speed provided problems for Barcelona down the right, but Ronaldo was equally troublesome along the left and he was tripped by Dani Alves after the break to set up the penalty for his league-leading 26th goal that put Madrid back on top. However, eplays showed the contact had taken place just outside the penalty area. But Barcelona replied when Ramos was shown a straight red for tangling with Neymar and Messi stepped to equalize again. Benzema then came off as Madrid looked to defend the draw, with Barcelona patiently coming forward and Dani Alves sending a shot off the post in the 74th. Iniesta was then taken down by Xabi Alonso and Dani Carvajal in the area to set up the 84th-minute spot kick that Messi slotted home for his 21st goal of the season. Messi climbed to No. 2 on the Spanish leagues all-time scoring list with 235 goals, passing Hugo Sanchez. He also became the leading scorer in "clasico" matches with 21 goals, bettering the mark of 18 he shared with Madrid great Alfredo di Stefano. ___ Follow Paul Logothetis on Twitter: www.twitter.com/PaulLogoAP Cheap China Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China China NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '

MILAN - Paul Pogba showed why the top European teams are interested in him as he orchestrated a 2-0 win for Juventus against Chievo Verona, sending the defending champion seven points clear atop the Serie A table on Sunday as Roma drew 1-1 at Fiorentina. Nike Roshe Run Hyperfuse .Pogba scored a stunning opener on the hour mark and was instrumental in his teams second, netted by Stephan Lichtsteiner.Paul scored an extraordinary goal and pulled the ball down brilliantly for the second, Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said. He is an intelligent, calm and level-headed lad who always wants to improve. ... The club has to decide (whether to sell him) but its not a problem to consider right now. It is difficult to replace world class players, but football goes on.Former Fiorentina forward Adem Ljajic cancelled out Mario Gomezs strike as Roma drew its third successive league match. We had a great second half, there was a good reaction, Roma coach Rudi Garcia said. I saw an ambitious team which is capable of scoring. With this spirit we will win many matches.Well continue on our path without looking at the others. We have to be more clinical for the entire 90 minutes.Meanwhile, there will be further debate about goal-line technology after Palermo had a goal ruled out in a 1-1 draw at Sampdoria, with the home sides new signing Samuel Etoo in attendance.A stoppage-time goal gave Torino a 1-0 win at Inter Milan, its first since 1988, while a late Alejandro Rodriguez strike also saw Cesena beat Parma 2-1 in a relegation battle between the two bottom sides.Hellas Verona beat Atalanta 1-0, with Javier Saviola scoring his first Serie A goal.Juventus struggled to break down Chievo although Giorgio Chiellini nodded just over from a couple of corners, and had another header from a corner deflected over the bar by goalkeeper Albano Bizzarri. It took a moment of magic to break the deadlock as Pogba skipped past two Chievo players before unleashing a powerful 20-yard strike into the bottom corner for his fourth goal in as many games.Pogba almost claimed the second too as he brought down a cross with his foot before hitting it on the volley, forcing a great save from Bizzarri, only for Lichsteiner to slot in the rebound.Roma knew it couldnt afford another slip after draws against Lazio and Palermo but Mario Gomez redirected David Pizarros long-range strike for his third goal in two matches after scoring twice in the Italian Cup midweek.Roma looked a different side after the break and levelled after four minutes. He failed, so for the third, he shortened up, trying to protect the plate. That ball ended up going out and, boy, did the Arizona Diamondbacks need it.Its been a long and, at times, bumpy road back to the UFC for Andrei Arlovski. Following a seven-plus year stint that saw the dangerous striker capture the UFC heavyweight championship, Arlovski opted to part ways with the worlds largest MMA organization after fulfilling his contract in early 2008. His strategy was simple in theory, but tough in execution: dispatch the top heavyweights outside the UFC and return to the negotiating table with increased bargaining power. Arlovskis new beginning got off to a hot start when he picked up consecutive knockout victories over Ben Rothwell and Roy Nelson. Unfortunately for the Belarus native, his plan soon took a sharp nose dive. After a disastrous outing against Fedor Emelianenko in 2009 that saw him swatted out of mid-air like a fly during an ill-fated flying-knee attempt, Arlovski went on to lose his next three fights. In MMA youre often only as good as your last fight and Arlovski had now dropped four straight for the first time in his career. In the eyes of many, The Pit Bull was done. But Arlovskis fortunes would change once more, as he returned to the win column with a TKO victory over Ray Lopez in mid-2011. Since his skid ended hes now netted an impressive 6-1 (1 NC) record and subsequently earned his way back onto the UFC roster. On the cusp of his promotional return, Arlovski said his slump was an important learning experience. “I think everything happens for a reason,” Arlovski said. “Right now I have a lot of energy and fire in my eyes. Im just ready to fight hard and train hard. “If youre on top of the world, you have to train even harder than before because you can lose it in one minute. It was definitely a good life experience for me. Like I said, I have a lot of energy, Im still young and Im ready to start everything from the beginning again. “I knew I was going to be back in the UFC sooner or later. Im very excited its happened now.” Arlovski gets to reintroduce himself to UFC fans when he battles Brendan Schaub on the main card of UFC 174 in Vancouver Saturday. The show will be headlined by a flyweight championship bout between Demetrious Johnson and Ali Bagautinov. Not only does Arlovski have the opportunity to pick up his first win inside the octagon since UFC 82 over six years ago, he also aims to knock off a top-15 ranked heavyweight. With Schaub currently sitting in the No. 14 sppot, Arlovski is determined to send a message to the rest of the weight class. Nike Air Max 90 EM. “Its very important for me to have a very good start in my second debut in the UFC and I will do everything possible to beat Brendan,” Arlovski said. “The best thing about Brendan is that hes in front of me. Hes top 15 and Im not even top 25. So everybody whos in front of me is a very important fight for me.” A win over Schaub will certainly put Arlovski back on track in the ultra-competitive heavyweight division. Though he once wore UFC gold around his waist, hes not about to get ahead of himself. As much as Arlovski would love to fight for a belt again, he admits he has his work cut out for him before he can re-enter the title picture. “One step at a time,” Arlovski said. “I have to face Brendan Schaub and then afterwards its definitely going to be up to the UFC (who I fight next). “(The heavyweight division) was tough then and now its even tougher. Definitely the UFC has the best heavyweights in the world. Its awesome.” As with most heavyweight tilts, Arlovskis bout with Schaub carries the potential for a thrilling finish. In 45 combined fights, the two have only reached the judges scorecards a total of eight times. Though both fighters have excelled at putting opponents away, theyve also suffered their share of knockout losses over the years, causing some to question the strength of their respective chins. Arlovski immediately dismissed the notion, stating that one top fighter can put another to sleep on any given night. “If you land a good right, a good kick, or a good punch in the right place, anybody can be knocked out,” Arlovski said. “I think its all b------- about a weak chin or a glass chin. Its all about landing a hard punch in the right place. Definitely, I wont count on Brendan having a weak chin. “Brendan, hes definitely a very tough fighter. He has good jiu jitsu and is very dangerous on the ground. I just need to be ready.” Though Arlovski carries no illusions about how quickly a fight can turn sour, hes also no stranger to dishing out highlight-reel knockouts. If things go according to plan, hell be adding another to his resume this weekend. “I think its going to be a very exciting fight for the fans,” he said. “Especially for Arlovski fans.” Cheap China Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys China Cheap Jerseys From China China NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '

ST. Wade Davis Cream Jersey . PETERSBURG, Fla. -- From worst to first, and now back in the AL championship series. Shane Victorinos infield single snapped a seventh-inning tie and journeyman Craig Breslow gave Boston a huge boost out of the bullpen, sending the Red Sox into the ALCS with a 3-1 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Tuesday night. Koji Uehara got the final four outs -- one night after giving up a game-winning homer -- and Boston rebounded to take the best-of-five playoff 3-1. A year after finishing in last place, the AL East champion Red Sox won 97 games to match St. Louis for the best record in baseball. Now, theyre moving on to the ALCS for the first time in five years. "Its great, but weve still got one more to get where we want to be," Victorino said. "Were going to get a few days off to rest and see what happens in the other division series, and well go from there." After the resilient Rays were finally eliminated, Boston will open at home Saturday against the Athletics or Tigers. Oakland hosts Detroit in a decisive Game 5 on Thursday. Both managers mixed and matched all night at Tropicana Field in a tense game that felt more like a chess match. Desperately trying to force a fifth game, Rays skipper Joe Maddon used nine pitchers -- a post-season record for a nine-inning game -- and had ace David Price warming up for a potential 10th inning. "The way it was working at the beginning there, I could see it was just not going to work and we had to do something differently," Maddon said. "We became a little bit more extemporaneous at that point." Breslow relieved Boston starter Jake Peavy in the sixth and struck out his first four batters -- all in the middle of Tampa Bays lineup. The 33-year-old lefty from Yale has pitched for six teams in eight big league seasons, including two stints with the Red Sox. "We had guys come to spring training, everybody bought in," Breslow said, explaining Bostons quick turnaround after going 69-93 last year. "Theres accountability and 25 guys who prioritize winning baseball games beyond any kind of individual achievement or accolade." The highest-scoring team in the majors this season, Boston scratched out three runs on six singles in a game that featured only one extra-base hit. But that was enough to knock out the wild-card Rays, who won four win-or-go-home games over the previous nine days. "They didnt make any mistakes. You could see their grit," Maddon said. "Theyve got a bunch of gamers over there. ... On the other side, I think our guys were equally as tough. We have had a hard time hitting their pitching staff." Making their fourth playoff appearance in six years, the low-budget Rays have not advanced past the division series since reaching the 2008 World Series. Xander Bogaerts scored the tying run on Joel Peraltas wild pitch in the seventh and Victorino followed with an RBI infield single. Dustin Pedroia drove in Bogaerts with a sacrifice fly in the ninth to make it 3-1, and Uehara struck out Evan Longoria to end it. "It feels great," outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury said. "We played a great team over there. It was a hard-fought game. Its more mentally tiring than anything. But its a fun group of guys." David DeJesus snapped a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the sixth for the Rays, and Boston squandered several opportunities before finally breaking through in the seventh. Bogaerts drew a pinch-hit walk with one out and raced to third on Ellsburys two-out single off Jake McGee. The Rays brought in their sixth pitcher, Peralta, and the game shifted suddenly on his first pitch, which skipped in the dirt past catcher Jose Lobaton -- allowing the tying run to score. Ellsbury was stealing second on the pitch and continued to third when the ball rolled toward the backstop. Victorino beat out a slow chopper to shortstop, putting the Red Sox ahead 2-1. "Victorino really adds a different dimension to that group, and you saw that again tonight. He just drips with intangibles," Maddon said. Breslow pitched 1 2-3 scoreless innings for the win. Uehara earned a save, bouncing back from Lobatons ninth-inning homer in Game 3. Tampa Bay won three win-or-go-home games last week just to reach the division series. Coming from behind in another elimination game Monday gave them hope of taking the series back to Fenway Park, where the Rays were outscored 19-6 in the first two games. The trip to the ALCS will be Bostons first since 2008, when the Red Sox lost in seven games to Tampa Bay. When the Red Sox acquired Peavy from the Chicago White Sox at the trade deadline, they had nights like this in mind. The 32-year-old right-hander made his third career post-season start 2,562 days -- a span of seven years, five days -- after starting Game 1 of the NL division series for San Diego in 2006. Both he and Rays starter Jeremy Hellickson were working with plenty of rest. Although he pitched two innings in a simulated game last week while the Red Sox were waiting to learn who they would face, Peavy hadnt appeared in a major league game in 13 days. Hellickson hadnt pitched since Sept. 27, and his selection as Tampa Bays starter in an elimination game was somewhat of a surprise. He didnt last long. After a 1-2-3 first inning, Hellickson walked David Ortiz and Mike Napoli on eight straight pitches to begin the second. Daniel Nava singled to load the bases, and Maddon had seen enough. Jamey Wright, an 18-year veteran in his first post-season series, worked out of the jam by striking out Jarrod Saltalamacchia and getting Stephen Drew to line into a double play. NOTES: Peavy allowed one run, five hits and struck out three in 5 2-3 innings. ... Former major leaguer Rocco Baldelli, a Rhode Island native who played for both the Rays and Red Sox, threw the ceremonial first pitch. ... Rookie RF Wil Myers was back in Tampa Bays lineup after leaving Game 3 with leg cramps. ... Victorino was hit by a pitch four times in the series, twice in Game 4. ... Lobatons game-ending homer Monday night landed in the giant fish tank beyond centre field. Only two others players -- Miguel Cabrera earlier this season and Luis Gonzalez in 2007 -- have homered into the tank that has been home to cownose rays since it was installed in 2006. MONACO -- With Mercedes looking certain to run away with the Formula One constructors championship, the promising battle between Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg should provide an intriguing backdrop for the rest of the season. Rosberg is only three points behind Hamilton, the championship leader, who has won the past four races. The two go back a long way, to their days karting together. But with so little separating them in the title race, their friendship looks set to be tested. Hamilton has even questioned Rosbergs desire to win. "I come from a not-great place in Stevenage and lived on a couch in my dads apartment, and Nico grew up in Monaco with jets and hotels and boats and all these kind of things," Hamilton said. "So the hunger is different ... if I were to come here believing that Nico is hungrier than me then I might as well go home." Those comments give the first indication that Hamilton, the Formula One champion in 2008, is applying pressure on Rosberg, who is far more inexperienced with four career wins compared to Hamiltons 26. Hamilton dismissed any notion of diplomacy when he was asked his ideal result at the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday, replying "(me) finishing first, Fernando (Alonso) finishing second and Sebastian (Vettel) finishing third. That would be it for me. The dream result for the team would be the Mercedes cars finishing 1-2." Four-time defending champion Vettel is already 55 points behind Hamilton in fourth place, and two-time champion Alonso is in third, 51 behind Hamilton. They have one third-place finish each so far and dont look like closing the gap, so it looks like being Hamilton vs. Rosberg for the rest of the campaign. Before he joined Mercedes last season, Hamiltons final season with McLaren proved a tense one. Mike Moustakas Green Jersey. Relations with Jenson Button were strained and he was reprimanded by the team for posting confidential information on social media about McLarens telemetry in September 2012. Button said he was "disappointed" in him, but it also showed Hamilton has a ruthless streak. Even though Hamilton has won the past four races after Rosberg clinched the season-opener in Australia, he wants to dominate Rosberg more. "Even if we are a dominating team, I dont beat my teammate by 40 seconds," the 29-year-old Hamilton said. "Take the last race, it was six-tenths (of a second) between us." Hamilton has beaten Rosberg 4-1 in qualifying -- Mercedes has all the pole positions so far -- but Rosberg argues that it could swing back in his favour heading into the midseason. "Three of those qualifyings were in the wet; in the dry its 1-1 and its supposed to be dry on Saturday (in Monaco) so Im confident I can make it happen," said the 28-year-old Rosberg, who is the son of 1982 F1 champion Keke Rosberg. "Its been a tough battle up until now and I expect it to continue like that," Rosberg said. "Of course now hes had the result in a couple of races but its been very close. I just need a tiny bit to turn it around." It seems unlikely their relationship will ever become as intense as the one between Vettel and Mark Webber at Red Bull, who were known to ignore team orders when asked to let the other driver pass. "We will always have the years in karting, that kind of foundation of a long time ago," Hamilton said. "For example, I have been storing my safe in his house for several months and just took it back now, and that could always be the other way around." Les Supremes placed sixth at last years ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships. They are coached by Marilyn Langlois, assisted by Pascal Denis and Amélie Brochu. John Tavares, Michael Grabner, Josh Bailey and Nick Leddy each scored once and assisted on another in a game the Islanders led from start to finish, with Jaroslav Halak adding 25 saves in the win. New York will enter the break atop the Metropolitan Division with 63 points and a 31-14-1 record. Im very pleased up until this point with our hockey club, Islanders head coach Jack Capuano said afterward. Weve done a lot of good things, not only winning hockey games, but how we are winning games. The Islanders put up four of their goals just past the midway mark of the second period, resulting in the Flyers pulling netminder Rob Zepp after he stopped just 16-of-20 shots. Mark Streit, Michael Del Zotto, Claude Giroux and Chris VandeVelde all had goals for the Flyers, while Ray Emery saved 18-of-20 attempts in relief of Zepp. Zepp, the 33-year-old rookie making only his fifth career NHL start, had his rough afternoon begin early. Grabner took in a pass from Kulemin and blew past Flyers defenseman Carlo Colaiacovo before firing a shot into the top right corner to put the Islanders ahead just 1:32 in. Kulemin made it a 2-0 game with a little over eight minutes elapsed, as a long drive from Johnny Boychuk was kicked out by Zepp right to the Russian forward for him to deposit into an opening. The Flyers had a chance to cut into the deficit with a power play early in the second period. However, Kulemin blocked a shot from Matt Read and embarked on a breakaway which he finished with a short-handed tally to put New York up 3-0. When you play as hard as he plays, youre going to get results, Capuano said of Kulemin. Hes a guy that away from the puck, plays exceptionally well defensively. We can use him in some crucial situations, not just the penalty kill, but 5-on-5. Halak couldnt prevent a blast from Streit from trickling through on a FFlyers power play midway through the middle session, but Bailey restored the Isles three-goal advantage less than three minutes later by putting home the rebound of Travis Hamonics initial attempt and prompting Zepps exit. http://www.englandeuroshirtshop.com/adam-lallana-jersey.html. Weve got to do a better job in front of our goalies, Giroux said. Our best defense is our offense, so we have to go play offensively and keep the puck down there. Philadelphia answered with 4:48 left in the second when Del Zotto snuck a shot under Halaks pads off a centering feed from Jakub Voracek. However, New York entered the intermission owning a comfortable 5-2 lead on a Tavares goal with 7.6 seconds to go in the frame. After receiving a give from Frans Nielsen from the left boards, the Islanders captain moved in and lifted a backhander over Emerys left shoulder with New York on a 5-on-4 situation. The Flyers trimmed the margin to 5-3 when Giroux converted Halaks giveaway behind his own net into an easy tap-in 49 seconds into the third period. Philadelphia couldnt get any closer, however, with Leddy all but sealing the outcome by flinging a puck that got through a screened Emery with 14:15 left to play. Both teams registered goals in the final 2 1/2 minutes to complete the scoring. VandeVelde successfully redirected Luke Schenns point shot for the Flyers final marker, with Anders Lee tacking on an empty-netter for New York with 1:03 remaining. WASHINGTON -- Every point matters more than ever to Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, who are part of a logjam in the Eastern Conference -- and on the outside of the playoff race, looking in, at the moment. http://www.hockeyavalancheshop.us/ . So blowing two-goal leads, as the Capitals tend to do, and losing key players such as centre Nicklas Backstrom to injury are not exactly what they want. All of those bad things happened to the Capitals in a 5-4 shootout loss Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Kings, who came back after Ovechkin scored two early power-play goals. "Obviously, you miss Backy, but every team has guys that go out," said Capitals coach Adam Oates, who would only say that Backstrom has an upper-body injury. "Youve got 19 other guys that have got to do the job. Weve got plenty of guys that can do the job." Also "being evaluated," as Oates put it, after the game was defenceman Jack Hillen, who was involved in a scary moment halfway through overtime, colliding with Ovechkin at centre ice. Hillens helmet slammed into Ovechkins chest, and the game was put on hold for a bit. Ovechkin got the wind knocked out of him and took a knee, but returned to the game. Hillen got the worst of the impact and remained face-down on the ice while a trainer checked on him. Washington is ninth in the East, one spot out of the playoffs based on tiebreakers, even though it is one of four teams with 80 points, alongside No. 7 Columbus, No. 8 Detroit and No. 10 Toronto. The Capitals have nine games left, starting Saturday at home against Boston. So among the Capitals, there was a mix of relief at the idea of picking up one point against Los Angeles -- and disappointment at failing to get two after leading 2-0 thanks to Ovechkin before the game was 7 1/2 minutes old, and then being ahead 3-1 entering the third period. "Theres no excuse. We have to find a way to win when we are up two goals," Washington forward Marcus Johansson said. "It hurts a lot. You never know when it comes down to it -- in or out (of the playoffs) by one point." Anze Kopitar and Jeff Carter scored in the shootout for the Kings, and goalie Jonathan Quick caught Eric Fehrs attempt after rookie forward Evgeny Kuznetsov whiffed on Washingtons opening shot. Kuznetsov had tied the wild, back-and-forth game with 41.5 seconds left in regulation on his first NHL goal, a short-hander that came when he reached in to knock home a loose puck after it trickled through Quicks pads on Ovechkins shot. Plenty of fans thought Ovechkin was responsible for his third goal of the night, and they tossed their hats onto the ice. But his total stayed at a league-leading 48. While Kuznetsovs goal got the crowd excited, in the end, the Kings wound up winning their seventh consecutive road game and their fourth game in a row overall. They began Tuesday sixth in the West, and their playoff status is looking a lot more secure than Washingtons. Los Angeles coach Darryl Sutter wasnt pleased with the way his team started Tuesday. But he liked the way his players turned things around. "We just kind of hung in there," Sutter said. Mike Richards, Dwight King, Marian Gaborik and Dustin Brown scored for the Kings in regulation. The most important goal might have been Kings, which came 45 seconds into the third period and pulled Los Angeles within 3-2. "The boys stuck together, stuck with it," Kings defenceman Drew Doughty said. "We knew the whole time we were going to get back in that game." NOTES: LW Dustin Penner netted his first goal for the Capitals since arriving from Anaheim at the trade deadline. ... The Kings have seven victories in a row over Washington. ... Midway through the second period, Capitals F Troy Brouwer and Kings D Willie Mitchell were both called for penalties after a skirmish in front of Quicks net. Brouwer stayed down on the ice for a bit, then was helped up and led to the locker room. It wasnt immediately clear what was wrong. ... The Kings record is eight straight road wins, in the 1974-75 season. http://www.hockeyavalancheshop.us/Teemu-Selanne-Jersey/ . "It was one of the best shows ever," said the Raptors guard, disagreeing with the critics. "Its really what people wanted to see. You couldnt see those dunks without three players on the court so it worked out for the best I think. http://www.hockeyavalancheshop.us/Customized/ . The Thunder knotted the series with a 92-89 overtime victory in Memphis Saturday night. It was the third overtime contest during the four games of this series. "Now its tied up 2-2," OKC head coach Scott Brooks said. http://www.hockeyavalancheshop.us/Nicolas-Meloche-Jersey/ .ca provides the latest rumours, reports and speculation from around the NHL beat.Winnipeg Jets 5 Florida Panthers 2 – With the win the Jets snap a six game home winless streak and climb back to .500 at home and .500 overall (16-16-5). The win also snapped Floridas winning streak at five games. Jets are 10-4-1 vs. Eastern Conference teams this season. Shawn Matthias opened the scoring off a Jets turnover, despite the Jets getting off to a great start. The Panthers first shot on goal did not come until the sixth minute of the game. Jacob Trouba had an attempted pass go off defenceman Tom Gilbert and in to tie the game at 11:06. It was Troubas second of the season. Mark Scheifele and Evander Kane picked up assists. The Panthers then ran into penalty trouble putting the Jets on a five-on-three for over a minute and a half. Toby Enstrom, with his third of the year gave the Jets the lead with assists from Olli Jokinen and Dustin Byfuglien. The Jets are now four for six this season when holding a two-man advantage. 33 seconds after the Enstrom power play marker, the Jets power play clicked again, with Blake Wheeler deflecting a Zach Bogosian shot for his 12th of the year and fifth on the power play. Trouba also had an assist giving him two points in the period. The Jets power play has now scored seven goals in the last six games, going seven for 23, including two for four in this game, the fourth time this season the Jets have scored two power play goals in a game. It was a chippy first period with the Jets outshooting the Panthers 13-9. Evander Kane with his ninth made it a 4-1 game early in the second, converting a pass from Michael Frolik. Scheifele picked up his second assist of the night, giving him back to back multiple point games. Nick Bjugstad scored the Panthers second unassisted goal of the night, again off a Jets giveaway, to make it 4-2, but Frolik restored the three goal lead at 17:53. It was his ninth of the year with assists going to Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien. Despite some late period pressure by Florida, thats the way the second ended. Ondrej Pavelec was at his best late, in the second as he faced five shots in the final couple of minutes. Pavelec picked up his first win in his last six starts. Shots in the second were 9-5 Jets. No scoring in the third with the Jets outshooting the Panthers 10-9 for a 32-23 final. Jets have now out shot their opponent in seven of their last eight games. Of note in the third was an altercation between Kane and Scottie Upshall, as the two were at each other most of the night, starting in the first period when they went off together. Kane picked up the extra as the Jets went a perfect four for four on the PK. http://www.hockeyavalancheshop.us/Lanny-Mcdonald-Jersey/. Trouba, Kane, Byfuglien, Scheifele, and Frolik all had two point nights. Scheifele extended his point streak to five games (3-4-7), and now has 12 points in his last 13 games. Since November 23rd, Scheifele is the leagues top rookie point getter. Frolik has 11 points in his last 14 games, while Kane has gone 2-2-4 in three games since missing six games because of injury. Wheeler has now scored seven goals in the last nine games, Byfuglien has four assists in the last four games and leads the team in assists with 20. For only the second time this season Bryan Little has gone back to back games without a point. Little was 68% in the face off department winning 15 of 22. Jets picked up six points from defencemen in the win and six points from the Scheifele line with Kane and Frolik. Byfuglien has 13 power play points on the Jets 18 power play goals. Bogosian, back after missing 15 games due to injury, played 17:44, had one assist and was a plus one. He leads the team in plus-minus at plus nine. Wheeler led the way in shots with six, Kane in hits with six, Byfuglien in ice time with 25:34. Ladd has a five game point streak vs. Florida (3-4-7). It was the Jets final home game before the Christmas break, with two more road games to be played. Jets are in Vancouver Sunday (7 pm central time), and in Edmonton Monday (8:30 central time) both games TSN Jets and TSN 1290. Next home game is the 27th against Minnesota. "Its good to win at home," stated Coach Claude Noel. "Its been a while. We came out hard. Wanted to take advantage of their travel and the fact it was back to back games for them. Lots of emotion in the first period. The second lulled, and the third period was one of our better third periods. We played the right way, supported the puck." As for the first period power play goals, "You want results off a five on three. Tough when you dont score. It worked out good for us. Really helped us out getting two. We had a good offensive night from a lot of guys and had a pretty good night from every player." On two point nights for Scheifele and Trouba, "our young guys are good players. Theyve proven that. Mark has grown the way we thought he would grow. Proves there is a process, and it works. It takes time. Hes playing the way we and he thought he would." Not dressed for the Jets were Paul Postma, Keaton Ellerby, Anthony Peluso (game three of his three game suspension), Matt Halischuk, Jim Slater and Grant Clitsome. Today is the eve of many a Big Dance dream being shattered and powerhouses upset as conference tournaments and, for some, college careers end before Selection Sunday. CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bobcats centre Al Jefferson said that while his left foot remains extremely sore, he plans to play in Game 2 of the best-of-seven playoff series Wednesday night against Miami Heat. "Im suiting up," Jefferson said Monday. "Its going to take more than that to make me sit out. We have worked too hard to get to this point." Jefferson injured his foot in the first quarter of Sundays 99-88 loss to the two-time defending NBA champions. Charlottes leading scorer skipped a light team workout Monday and said he doesnt plan to practice Tuesday. That means he wont test out the foot until the shoot around period on Wednesday morning. His left foot remains in a walking boot and hell continue to receive treatment for the next two days. First-year coach Steve Clifford said the medical staff informed him Jefferson doesnt run the risk of serious injury if he continues to play on the injured foot. Clifford also said the injury wont require surgery this off-season. "There would be no long term effects, nothing that could be permanent going forward. So that part were not worried about," Clifford said. In essence, the injury is all about the 6-foot-10, 289-pound Jefferson managing the pain, something the 10-year NBA veteran said he didnt do well in Game 1 even though he finished with 18 points and 10 rebounds in the loss. "I have to adjust to the pain," Jefferson said. "I have to go out there and know that its going to be there and have that mindset. To me that will make me handle it a lot better. Last game it came out of nowhere and I didnt know what I was limited to and what I could and couldnt do. Now I know." Jefferson received two pain killer injections during Sundays game after injuring the foot in the first quarter while coming off a double screen. Mateo Kovacic Real Madrid Jersey. He said he will continue to receive injections to handle the pain throughout the series. "They are going to be my new best friend," he said with a laugh. After Sundays game, Heat centre/power forward Chris Bosh said Miami went after Jefferson to test his injured foot. The Bobcats are expecting the Heat will run plenty of pick and rolls at Jefferson to test his mobility in Game 2. But Clifford seems more worried about Jeffersons play on the offensive end, rather this ability to adjust on defence. "I thought it hampered him a lot more offensively than defensively," Clifford said. "We watched on film a couple of the pick and rolls and he defended them fine. His problem is he cant pivot hard off that foot and that is such a big part of his game -- the quick spins, going one way, faking and going back the other way. I thought it hurt his offence a lot more than his defence." Point guard Kemba Walker, who led the Bobcats in scoring in Game 1, said he and his teammates are going to have to help pick up the slack if Jefferson is limited. "I definitely think I have to increase my level of play and be a lot more aggressive offensively," Walker said. "Other guys as well. I think everyone is looking forward to that challenge." Cliffords other concern heading into Game 2 is limiting turnovers. Charlotte turned it over 15 times leading to 20 points for the Heat. "They dont need 20 points," Jefferson said. Said Clifford: "We need maximum concentration and maximum intensity, starting with the turnovers. You have to concentrate on the reasons you win and you play well. I think we can do better." MANAUS, Brazil -- Mario Balotelli scored with a second-half header Saturday to give Italy a 2-1 win over England at the World Cup. http://www.lightninghockeyshop.us/Steven-Stamkos-Jersey/ . The Italy striker was left free by his marker Gary Cahill and nodded a cross from Antonio Candreva past goalkeeper Joe Hart in the 50th minute. Claudio Marchisio scored first for Italy, sending a long shot through a crowded area and past a diving Hart in the 35th. Daniel Sturridge equalized for England two minutes later, tapping in a cross from Wayne Rooney. The win puts Italy in a strong position to qualify for the second round, and leaves England with plenty to do in its remaining two matches. In the other Group D match, Costa Rica beat Uruguay 3-1, giving the 2010 semifinalists a similarly difficult task to advance. Balotelli nearly scored another in first-half injury time, running deep into the area and enticing Hart to come off his line. The Italy striker stopped, looked toward goal and sent a chip over the keepers head -- only for Phil Jagielka to clear by heading the ball over the bar. Englands attack-minded lineup made frequent runs into the Italy area throughout the match, and came close to scoring several times. The best of the chances came in the 24th when Danny Welbeck sent the ball across the front of goal but Andrea Barzagli was able to slide in and tip the ball up in the air. Raheem Sterling, who had been running in from the left, jumped for the header but couldnt reach it, letting the ball go past him as he tumbled into the net. Italy played without the injured Gianluigi Buffon. The 36-year-old Italy goalkeeper, who can play in his fourth World Cup if he is able to recover from an ankle problem, was replaced by Salvatore Sirigu. The PSG keeper stepped up and made several good saves, but the best may have come in the 77th when he dived to his left to block a free kick from Leighton Baines. The match was played in the Amazonian city of Manaus, the most exotic of the 12 World Cup venues for this years tournament. According to FIFA, it was 30 degrees C (86 degrees F) with humidity at a relatively low 61 per cent for the match. While none of the players appeared to be affected by the heat, there was an injury on the England bench when team physio Gary Lewin dislocated his ankle while celebrating Sturridges goal. England and Italy were playing each other at the World Cup for only the second time. They also met in the third-place match at the 1990 World Cup, with the Italians also winning 2-1. http://www.lightninghockeyshop.us/Ben-Bishop-Jersey/ . -- Rick Pitino switched from coach to lobbyist the moment his Louisville Cardinals won their third straight conference tournament title. http://www.lightninghockeyshop.us/Brian-Boyle-Jersey/ .Y. - San Diego Chargers wide receiver Seyi Ajirotutu was fined $27,562 by the NFL on Friday for making contact with an official during the teams loss to the Miami Dolphins last Sunday. http://www.lightninghockeyshop.us/Alex-Killorn-Jersey/ . McElveen spent the first four seasons of his CFL career with the Alouettes from 2008 to 2011, and played on two Grey Cup champion teams with Montreal.Mike OShea hates losing. The first-year head coach has made that much crystal clear in his pair of post-game media sessions. His Blue Bombers are winless and their preseason schedule is complete. Now two days into a 12-day stretch before the regular season begins, Winnipegs freshly-minted field general is communicating optimism and relaying the positives in his football club. "I think the offence did a great job," OShea told reporters on Monday afternoon, his first availability in Winnipeg following the Bombers 23-20 loss in Calgary on Saturday. "When you look at the numbers to go along with that film — no two-and-outs, 26 first downs — that should be good enough to win." But its tough to beat a team like the Calgary Stampeders at McMahon when you spot them a 14-point lead after a quarter of play. So is OShea at all concerned with his starting defence allowing touchdown drives of 52 and 59 yards in Calgarys first three possessions, and 129 rushing yards in the first half? "No. No, I am not concerned at all. I know what weve put in and I know that well keep working. The effort is there. The buy-in is there. Im excited, actually. I got pulled out of the defensive meeting to come (speak to media). I just missed some great stuff." This seems somewhat contradictory when you look at the ease in which the Stampeders offence trotted down the field in the opening twenty minutes when it was starters versus starters. OShea has stated that coordinator Gary Etcheverrys defence has been purposefully "vanilla" in their preseason looks, keeping their cards close to the vest. And consider the likes of Johnny Sears and Donovan Alexander — two probable Week 1 starters — were also out of Saturdays lineup as they continue to recover from groin and calf injuries, respectively. The offence, meanwhile, indeed looked calculated and collected with Drew Willy at the helm. The first-year starter finished his day 14-of-23 for 172 yards, and could have been upwards of 70 per cent passing if it werent for a few easily caught balls that slipped through the hands of his receivers. "We started slow again, I think as an entire team. We have to find a way to rectify that," said OShea when questioned about his offence. "I thought the offence performed very well. I thought they played with a lot of heart. They played a real physical style. We ran the ball. We threw the ball. We moved the ball down the field. We moved the ball out from our own end. Maybe we didnt capitalize on enough of those opportunities down deep. Theres some very positive things." "We are still evaluating the No. 2 (quarterback) position, for sure," added OShea. "But yes, it was important to put Drew (Willy) back out there, and to give credit where its due, (offeensive coordinator) Marcel (Bellefeuille) came to me (at halftime) and said, lets put him back out. http://www.lightninghockeyshop.us/Martin-St-Louis-Jersey/. And we did." Keeping Willy in for the opening possession of the third quarter proved shrewd, as he engineered his third scoring drive on 10 plays that covered 76 yards before stalling on first-and-goal. Coming out after the break and continuing to build in-game experience with his receivers, backs, and linemen should prove worthwhile as the new No. 1 establishes chemistry with the pieces around him. Quarterbacks Brian Brohm, Max Hall, and Robert Marve all saw time running Winnipegs offence in preseason games, and it looks from afar that a decision will have to be made between Brohm and Hall as to who will backup Willy. Young Marves cannon-arm, deep ball accuracy, and ability to turn up field and dash for first downs will likely see him stick around as he familiarizes himself with the Canadian game. Its been a while since there has been a young project pivot in Winnipeg. The potential is there. Injury Report: Several projected starters missed the game in Calgary, including slotbacks Nick Moore (back) and Cory Watson (hamstring), cornerback Donovan Alexander (calf), and defensive back/linebacker Johnny Sears (groin). OShea says Watson will finally return to practice this week after sitting out since Day 2 of camp... Another National slotback, Julian Feoli-Gudino, suffered a "lower-body" injury late last week and looks to return soon, as the club may have to start him next to Watson and Rory Kohlert in a three-National receiver set since the loss of defensive tackle Ryan Lucas for the season with an ACL tear... The old adage You cant make the club from the tub is beginning to find reference alongside every mention of 2013 All-Star running back Will Fords name as of late. The position battle between rookies Nic Grigsby and Paris Cotton is reaching critical mass, and Fords layup since Day 3 of camp with a hamstring pull just may cost him his job... Speaking of Cotton, who was again impressive with the ball in his second preseason game (5 carries for 58 yards, 2 receptions for 24 yards), suffered an undisclosed leg injury late on Saturday. The explosive and slippery tailback is receiving assessment from the doctor on Monday and an update will be provided this week... According to the media release sent out by the team Monday morning, National linebacker Graig Newman, whom Kyle Walters targeted aggressively in free agency this winter, will "miss the 2014 season" with a dislocated and fractured ankle. Mike OShea isnt so sure stating, "Im not saying hes done for the season... Im optimistic and so is (Newman). Well see him soon... Ask me again in a couple months. Three months, possibly. Hes got a good spirit." Newman underwent surgery on Monday. The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Carolina Panthers 45-21 on Monday Night Football with the help of two touchdowns from Darren Sproles. Tony Sanchez Jersey . The Panthers (3-6-1) are now on a four-game losing streak, while the Eagles (7-2-0) are now perfect at home as they continue to lead the NFC East. Toronto Blue Jays Jersey . And he was nowhere near his best Friday night. And yet, he still won. Pablo Sandoval and Brandon Hicks homered to back a wildly effective Lincecum, and the San Francisco Giants beat the Minnesota Twins 6-2. Justin Smoak Jersey . - Bae Sang-moon ran off five straight birdies early in the third round Saturday at the Frys. http://www.authenticbaseballonline.net/Toronto-Blue-Jays-Cyber-Monday-Ra-Dickey-Jersey-Black-Friday/ . - From his perch atop Regan Smiths pit box, team owner Dale Earnhardt Jr.You dont know them. Not many people do. Days… Weeks… Months… Almost a year has gone by and still… you dont know them. The legendary Robert Montgomery Knight, aka, The General, one of the winningest coaches in college basketball history, strolls in to inspect the troops. He came to see them, to share his wisdom before they march into madness… to see who exactly this rag-tag bunch of players, not blue bloods… scrappers… fighters… winners, were. Coach Knight, the leader of the last college team to go undefeated and win an NCAA title, the 1976 Indiana Hoosiers, shows up at practice in late February to tell them to take it "one game at a time". He is a fan of how they play. "Play Angry". The 2013-2014 Wichita State mens basketball team does just that. But more importantly, plays hard, plays tough and plays together, leading to an NCAA-record 30-0 regular season mark under head coach Gregg Marshall. Saturday, March 1, 2014: Charles Koch Arena, Wichita, Kansas: Senior Night. The final matchup before the conference tourney and the opponent Missouri State is no easy out for the Shockers. This is also the final home game for two Canadian senior forwards, Chadrack Lufile, as well as his best friend, a young man whose last name is famous, not only in the state of Kansas, but on a couple continents, Nick Wiggins. Nick has a younger brother, Andrew who you may know, playing in the same state only two and half hours away, for a program so steeped in tradition, the inventor of basketball was the first head coach of the Kansas Jayhawks, fellow Canuck James Naismith. I got on the phone with Nick Wiggins and Chadrack Lufile post-practice this week to talk life in the shadows and possibly shocking the world. Did you guys know one another before signing at Wichita State? NW: Weve known one another since we were teenagers. CL: We actually went to the same junior college together at Vincennes in Indiana. NW: I signed first. I didnt force him to sign or anything… just told him it would be special for us to go together. Why Wichita State? CL: Nick had narrowed his choices down to Baylor and Wichita State. He talked about his visit, how they treated him, the ambitions of the coaches and players. There was just a feeling; a good feeling about it all. Once Nick decided, I was in, too. We had to take advantage of what looked like a great opportunity in front of us. NW: When we first got here, first couple years, we didnt play as much as wed have liked to but it was always about team. Still, it was tough at times, knowing you could help the team on the court more. CL: My Dads a minister. He has a huge influence on all that I do. Once, wed lost three straight, neither one of us was playing a lot and my Dad prayed for us. Not just us, but the team. I remember telling Nick about it. NW: Yeah, I mean we had 7-8 guys on this team last year who could score 20 in any game, but we share the ball. Thats how play. CL: And then we ended up in the Final Four. We believed... Iff you had to compare your game to any Wichita State great from the past, who would it be and why? NW: So many great players who have come through here. Joe Carter Jersey. Id say Cleo Littleton. He was known for his defence and for being a great teammate. I think thats me. CL: X! Xavier McDaniel. He and Antoine Carr, another Shockers legend, came in to to see us last year and really instilled in us to "Play Angry". Thats our thing now: Play Angry. He (McDaniel) told me to box out hard, never let anyone get to the ball before I did, rebound strong, run the floor harder than my opponent, be versatile with my game. We emulate the guys who were here before us. They are Shockers for life! What do you say to the pundits who believe 30-0 is a function of you guys playing in the Missouri Valley Conference, the perceived lack in your strength of schedule and not because youre a great team? NW: Schedule us. Everyone talks KU (Kansas), but they wouldnt play us. We wanted to do it at a neutral site, but they didnt want it. Thats ok, people who dont believe mid-majors can compete with major D-1 schools havent really watched us play. They will find out soon enough. CL: Say what you want about our conference or the teams we beat. Just come play us. We feel like we can compete with anyone. We beat the #1 team in the country in Gonzaga in the tournament last year. Ohio State was #7, Pitt #20. Just play us. Do you think you should be ranked #1 in the country? CL: Honestly, I think we should be! NW: We dont really pay it much attention. It could be almost like a distraction. We dont look past anyone. You still gotta win. The team we play our last home game against, Missouri State, is tough. They had us down by like 17 with about 11 minutes to go in the game before we fought back and won. It was a war. Im sure they wont care that its Senior Night for us when we play them again. They wanna win, too! If Wichita State runs the table by winning your conference tourney, should you be a #1 seed for March Madness? NW: We proved all year we should be a #1 seed. I think the selection committee will do the right thing and give us that. We lost some great guys from last years team and still havent skipped a beat or lost a step. Coach Marshall has us prepared. This will be a special ride to go on with this group of guys. Dream Scenario: Clearly winning it all is the ultimate dream. But, if Wichita State had a chance to play Kansas in the final on April 7 in Dallas, why would it be that much sweeter? CL: Lets Go!!! Do you know how hype that would be?!? NW: If they seed us and Kansas in the same region 1-2, wow, the rivalry... My brother. I believe itll happen. State bragging rights. Man, I would have lifetime bragging rights in my house (laughs)!!! CL: Andrew (Wiggins) would come down to chill and hang with us. Id tell him "Youre not ready for us, Bro (laughs)!" Im no genius or anything, but I believe all of this. All the things that are happening with Wichita State are meant to be. I feel like well meet Kansas, God Willing. And God Is Good...
