The New York Rangers bottled up the Montreal Canadiens and squeezed out a 1-0 win in Game Six to take the Eastern Conference Final, four games to two. Hydro Flask Deals Online Uk . After controlling play early, the Rangers didnt get on the board until 1:53 remaining in the second period, when Dominic Moore converted a nice feed from Brian Boyle. With their season on the line, the Canadiens managed just 18 shots against the Rangers, including five in the third period. In 99 games this season, regular season plus playoffs, it was the fifth time that Montreal had been held to 18 or fewer shots on goal and their 36 shot attempts was easily their lowest of the postseason (previous low was 47) and came in lower than that only twice during the regular season. The Rangers dominated possession in the deciding game, with 58 shot attempts to the Canadiens 36. Subban was even in terms of 5-on-5 shot attempts (16 for, 16 against), which meant that the Habs were left with 27.3% of the 5-on-5 shot attempts (12 for, 32 against) when Subban was off the ice. There were many occasions throughout the series when the Rangers used their speed to take advantage of the Canadiens and that worked in Game Six too. LW Chris Kreider was on for 84.2% of the 5-on-5 shot attempts when he was on the ice, the best rate of the eight Rangers to come in with possession numbers higher than 70% for the game. At the low end for the Rangers in Game Six, LW Carl Hagelin was on for just 21.1% (four for, 15 against) of the 5-on-5 shot attempts. Getting the worst of the possession stats for Montreal was D Andrei Markov, on for 17.9% of the shot attempts (five for, 23 against). With Markov off the ice, the Canadiens were getting 47.9% of the even-strength attempts. Heading towards unrestricted free agency, will that be the last game Markov plays for the Canadiens? Hes slowing down, but played a career-high 25:14 per game this season, so hes an integral part of the Canadiens blueline. Game Six hero Rene Bourque didnt register a shot on goal, team captain Brian Gionta didnt manage a single attempted shot and LW Max Pacioretty, who had three shots on goal, was the only Habs forward with more than two. As much as it was a nice playoff run for the Canadiens, it ended in disappointment. (Coughlins Law: Everything ends badly, otherwise it wouldnt end.) Bourque was a postseason surprise, with a team-leading eight goals and led Montreal with six points in the series against the Rangers. C Lars Eller led Montreal forwards with 13 points and D P.K. Subban, despite two points in six games against the Rangers, led the Habs with 14 points in 17 games, but the last 10 games of the playoffs were hard on Thomas Vanek, Montreals big trade deadline acquisition, who had two goals and two assists in that span, registering a total of 13 shots on goal. For a player who averaged a career-high 3.18 shots on goal per game during the regular season, that decline suggested that Vanek could have been playing hurt. Its hard to fathom such a collapse without some underlying reason, but if it was merely just a run of poor play from Vanek, it came at a most inopportune time. Rookie G Dustin Tokarski was excellent for Montreal in Game Six, turning aside 31 of 32 shots by the Rangers, leaving him with a .916 save percentage for the series; a nice unexpected contribution for the Habs. Will it be enough to change their plans for next season? Carey Price and Peter Budaj are under contract, which doesnt leave room for Tokarski, so maybe hes looking at another year in the AHL. Tokarski does have an inexpensive one-way deal in 2015-2016. For the Rangers, G Henrik Lundqvist rebounded from getting pulled in Game Five and while he wasnt tested much during his 18-save shutout, he did have a spectacular save off a Vanek scoring chance when the game was still scoreless. Lundqvist has a .928 save percentage in the postseason, the best among goaltenders with at least six games played. The other assist on Moores series-winning goal went to Ryan McDonagh, yet another shot through the Habs heart, as their former prospect had a monster series, with 10 points in six games. He had three points in 14 games through the first two rounds and goes into the Final tied with Martin St. Louis and Derek Stepan for the Rangers playoff scoring lead. The popular notion is that the Rangers are going to be easy pickings for either Chicago or Los Angeles, whichever team claims the Western Conference, but the Rangers shouldnt be dismissed so easily. They finished the regular season sixth in Fenwick Close (53.6%) and have one of the games premier puck stoppers behind them. That alone should give them a chance and for a team that last won the Stanley Cup 20 years ago, thats a pretty exciting proposition. LAS VEGAS -- Xavier Thames scored 19 points to lead No. Jerry Rice Youth Jersey . 10 San Diego State to a 73-64 win over UNLV on Wednesday night. San Diego State (26-3, 15-2 Mountain West) closed the game on a 13-2 run over the final 3:04 to seal its 26th victory of the season, matching the second-highest single-season total in school history. The Aztecs also won a school-record 15th conference game of the season, breaking the previous mark of 14, set in 2010-11. San Diego State, which has now won eight of its last 11 against the Rebels, finished 27-for-63 from the field, including 6 of 14 from 3-point range. After falling behind 62-61 with 3:23 left in the game, Thames completed a three-point play to ignite the Aztecs final scoring spree. The Aztecs, who are 12-2 away from home, are now 11-4 inside the Thomas and Mack Center since the 2010 Mountain West Tournament. This years tournament begins March 12 at the T&M. Thames was one of four Aztecs scoring in double figures, as Matt Shrigley added 14 and Winston Shepard and Dwayne Polee II each had 13. Khem Birch had 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead UNLV (19-11, 10-7). Kevin Olekaibe added 10 for the Runnin Rebels. San Diego State took a 12-5 lead in the game, but UNLV used a 10-0 run over a four-minute span midway through the first half to take a 15-12 lead. The Rebels extended their lead to six, 20-14, with 8:41 left, but the Aztecs battled back with a 15-5 run to take a 29-25 lead with 4:39 left until halftime. From there UNLV closed out the half on a 9-4 run to take a 34-33 lead into the locker room. But after shooting 13 of 25 from the field in the first half, including 4 of 7 from 3-point range, the Rebels shot a bleak 7 of 27 from the floor, and were an abysmal 2-for-12 from beyond the arc in the second half. Jim Otto Youth Jersey . Phoenix got injured centre Emeka Okafor and a top-12-protected first-round draft pick in 2014 -- giving the rebuilding Suns potentially four choices in the opening round. WASHINGTON -- Gavin Floyd had never heard the name of the piece of bone he broke inside his elbow. Manager Fredi Gonzalez didnt even try to pronounce it. But no matter how you say "olecranon," it spells more bad news for the Atlanta Braves pitching staff. Floyd, recently recovered from elbow ligament replacement surgery, fractured the bony tip of the forearm bone that sticks out behind the elbow when he threw a curveball to lead off the seventh inning of Thursday nights 3-0 win over the Washington Nationals. "It was fine until that last pitch," Floyd said. "I felt a pop." Its the latest setback for an injury-riddled staff that lost starters Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy and reliever Cory Gearrin to Tommy John surgery during spring training, upending a major plank in the Braves plans to repeat as NL East champions. "Its been a tough one, ever since spring training," third baseman Chris Johnson said. "But weve got to keep moving forward. Hopefully its nothing too bad and we can get him back soon." Floyd will return to Atlanta on Friday to be examined by team doctors. The injury is so rare that the Braves couldnt provide even a guess of a timetable for his return. A similar injury ended the career of Detroit Tigers reliever Joel Zumaya in 2010. "In the big picture, I think hes going to be OK," Gonzalez said. Floyd flexed his pitching arm awkwardly after the fateful pitch, which turned into a long foul ball by Jayson Werth down the left field line. After an examination by the Braves trainer on the mound, Floyd left the game for reliever Anthony Varvaro. "It was a weird spot," Floyd said. "It was a little sore before, but not in the area that I had surgery." Floyd (2-2) was making his ninth start since recovering from Tommy John surgery, but Gonzalez said the two injuries are not related. "What a shame," Gonzalez said. "The guy comes all the way back from Tommy John. ... I feel for the young man." Floyd had been working on a two-hit shutout. He threw only 64 pitches, walking one and striking out six to drop his ERA to 2.65 in his first season with Atlanta. "Thats the best Ive seen him look," Johnson said. "For those first six innings, he was dealing, he was nasty, so thats really a tough break." Floyds career record is 72-72 over 11 seasons with the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox and Braves. "I feltt like I was getting better and better, so its definitely disappointing," Floyd said. Marcus Allen Jersey. "Definitely not what I envisioned to happen. I havent had any pain since the surgery." The win moved the Braves within a half-game of the first-place Nationals atop the NL East as the division rivals opened a four-game series. Atlanta had been trending downward recently, losing eight of 12 entering the series. Johnson drove in all three of the Braves runs, two on a bases-loaded single in the fourth and another on a line drive that smacked reliever Jerry Blevins left knee in the eighth. Blevins was examined by the Nationals trainer but remained in the game to face one more batter. Jordan Zimmermann (5-4), coming off consecutive complete games, had his second straight hard-luck start for the Nationals. He lost 1-0 to Lance Lynn and the St. Louis Cardinals last Friday, and this time he allowed only two runs and seven hits through seven innings. Zimmermann has also had Tommy John surgery and naturally empathized with Floyd. "You never want another pitcher to get injured. I dont know what really happened," Zimmermann said. "Obviously, it was bad enough for him to come out of the game. Hopefully, hell be all right." NOTES: Evan Gattis extended his hitting streak to 18 games -- the longest active streak in the majors and best ever by a Braves catcher. ... Craig Kimbrel picked up his 21st save for the Braves, who have won 23 of 30 against the Nationals. ... Nationals OF Bryce Harper took on-field batting practice before the game for the first time since undergoing thumb surgery last month. Hes expected to begin a minor league rehab assignment next week before re-joining the team in mid-July. . Nationals Manager Matt Williams said C Wilson Ramos (strained right hamstring) should be ready to re-join the team when eligible to come off of the DL June 26. Ramos will begin a rehab assignment over the weekend or the beginning of next week. . Braves OF Justin Upton was out of the starting lineup for the second straight game with an inner ear ailment causing dizziness, but he appeared as pinch-hitter in the eighth inning and grounded out. . The Braves placed RHP Pedro Beato on the DL with a sore right elbow. He was called up to the Braves earlier this week and pitched in relief both Tuesday and Wednesday. The Braves promoted RHP Juan Jaime from Triple-A Gwinnett, his first call-up to the majors. ' ' '

MIAMI -- With the retractable roof open and the Milwaukee Brewers in town, pitcher-friendly Marlins Park became a launching pad. Steve Bartkowski Womens Jersey . Mark Reynolds hit a pair of two-run homers and the Brewers won a record-setting slugfest at spacious ballpark, beating Miami 9-5 Friday. Giancarlo Stanton and Garrett Jones hit two solo homers apiece for Miami, and Khris Davis homered for Milwaukee. The teams combined for seven home runs, the most since their park opened in 2012. "I think having the roof open helps," Reynolds said. Brewers manager Ron Roenicke wasnt so sure. "Its hard to say," he said. "My gosh, there were some long home runs by both sides. Those balls were crushed. There were a lot of fireworks going on." Milwaukee didnt need slugger Ryan Braun, who sat out after a flare-up of the oblique strain that sent him to the disabled list earlier this season. The Brewers hope he can rejoin the lineup by Sunday. Reynolds homered in the fourth and again in the fifth, increasing his season total to 11. It was his 20th career multihomer game. Miami lost despite hitting a season-high four home runs. Stantons two tape-measure homers increased his season total to 14, most in the NL, and his 47 RBIs lead the majors. It was his 12th career multihomer game, tying Hanley Ramirezs franchise record. Even so, Miami fell to 5-17 against the Brewers since the start of 2011. The ball was flying from the first inning. Davis homer carried more than 430 feet into the beer garden, Stantons homers travelled just as far, and Jones reached the upper deck. It has been nearly three years since three players hit two homers in a major-league game. Marco Estrada (4-2) didnt pitch from the stretch until there were two out in the seventh, because all four of Miamis baserunners to that point hit home runs. "Real weird game," Roenicke said. Roenicke made three pitching changes without a glitch. On Thursday at Atlanta, he summoned a reliever when no one was warming up. Estrada gave up five runs and departed after 6 2-3 innings. He has an ERA of 3.98 despite allowing 16 homers, the most in the majors. "I obviously didnt do the greatest job, but I kept the team in there," he said. "I know I have given up a lot of home runs, and today was no different. If I keep them to one-run homers, good things will happen. All I can say is we won." Along with all of the offence, there were some long outs as well. Two balls hit by Carlos Gomez would likely have been homers in Milwaukee. Gomez had three doubles and a single for the Brewers, who totalled eight extra-base hits. The NL Central leaders hit for the cycle in the fifth off Tom Koehler when Jean Segura singled, Scooter Gennett tripled, Gomez doubled and Reynolds homered. "They seemed to hit every mistake that was made pretty hard," said Koehler (4-4). "Thats why theyre in first place." Koehler went five innings and gave up seven runs, including both homers by Reynolds. Koehler came into the game with an ERA of 0.64 at home, best in the majors. "He made a lot of mistakes over the middle of the plate," manager Mike Redmond said. "Thats a very aggressive team, and obviously you saw the power that they have. And when you make mistakes against good teams, they make you pay." Miami fell to 19-7 at Marlins Park, still the best home record in baseball. Notes: RHP Jimmy Nelson will be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Sunday for the Brewers in place of RHP Yovani Gallardo, who was scratched after he threw a bullpen session before the game and said his sprained left ankle was still sore. Gallardo is not expected to go on the disabled list. ... Milwaukee RHP Wily Peralta (4-3, 2.1 is scheduled to start Saturday against Miami RHP Jacob Turner (0-2, 6.59). Bolland played just 23 games last season in his first year with the Toronto Maple Leafs after an ankle injury suffered early in the season. He was effective for the Leafs when he did play, scoring eight goals and four assists in 23 games, all but two of those points coming in the 15 games before he went down due to injury. He is coming off a five-year deal he signed with Chicago prior to the 2009-10 season worth an average annual value of $3.375 million. The Mimico, Ont. native spent the first six years of his career with the Chicago Blackhawks, winning two Stanley Cups in the process, before the team dealt him to Toronto at the 2013 NHL Draft. The 28-year-old forward has 78 goals and 102 assists for 180 points over 355 career games in the NHL. Bolland was drafted by Chicago in the second round (32nd overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. The Panthers also signed forward Jussi Jokinen to a four-year deal worth an average annual value of $4 million. Jokinen, a native of Finland, was drafted by Dallas in the sixth round (192nd overall) of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He has represented Finland on the international stage on numerous occasions, most recently winning bronze at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Florida would also add forward Shawn Thornton to a two-year deal worth an average annual value of $1.2 million. The Panthers also signed centre Derek MacKenzie to a contract. The 33-year-old scored nine goals and added nine assists in 71 games with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2013-2014. DENVER -- This time, the Sacramento Kings enjoyed their trip to Denver. Cheap NFL Jerseys Shop . Isaiah Thomas scored 33 points, Rudy Gay had 32 and the Kings used 39 third-quarter points to race past the Nuggets 109-95 on Sunday night. DeMarcus Cousins added 27 points for the Kings, who snapped a nine-game losing streak to the Nuggets at the Pepsi Center. It was Sacramentos first win in Denver since a 118-115 victory on April 5, 2008. The Kings have won three of their last four games overall, including both ends of a back-to-back. "The third quarter kind of dictated the game," Thomas said. "We were getting stops and we got out and ran. Thats when were at our best, when were in transition. We were in attack mode. Rudy started it off, DeMarcus got easy buckets and I just got what they gave me. I was making open shots. We played a helluva third quarter." Randy Foye and Evan Fournier each scored 27 points for the slumping Nuggets, who lost for the seventh time in the last eight games. The Nuggets fell to 1-5 without leading scorer Ty Lawson, who missed a sixth game because of a fractured left rib. "We basically controlled the whole first half, did what we wanted to do, and then we came out and gave up 39 points in the third quarter. Thats unacceptable," Foye said after Denver managed just 18 points in the third. "Its tough, man. But weve got to stay together, weve got to keep fighting and keep believing; dont give in. Thats the main thing. Everybody goes through times like this during the season. Its important for us to continue to fight, to keep pushing." Down 58-51 after Foye hit a pair of 3-pointers in the third, the Kings responded with a 21-2 run that put them in front 72-60 with 4:55 left in the period. Gay scored nine points in the decisive stretch, including consecutive three-point plays. Cousins hit a couple of jumpers and Thomas twice connected from 3-point range, with Kenneth Farieds mid-range jumper accounting for Denvers only points during Sacramentos surge. "I wouldnt say it was the best quarter we put together all year but it was pretty good," Gay said. "We got back defensively, Fournier was hurting us in the first half, we got out and guarded him. They still hit a couple of tough shots but for the most part we attacked, got to the foul line and found the open man." The Kings carried an 87-70 lead into the fourth quarter. A 3-pointer by Wilson Chandler pulled the Nuggets to 94-84 with 6:41 left, but the Kings scored the next nine points, including another three-point play by Gay. The Nuggets opened a 13-point lead midway through the second quarter. Fournier connected on two 3-pointers and Jan Vesely, making his home debut after being acquired Thursday from Washington, broke through for a pair of dunks. Sacramento pulled to 52-48 at halftime, outscoring the Nuggets 8-1 in the last 2:10 of the second quarter, with Gay driving for a dunk to close the spurt. That doesnt happen with any other victory, the 34-year-old Reichelt said Wednesday, adding hes aware of the expectations from his home crowd.I feel no pressure anymore that I must win Kitzbuehel. I am now in the position that I want to win it, he said. Winning in Wengen has made me a bit more relaxed. I am full of confidence and that makes racing a little easier.Twelve months ago, nothing was easy.Reichelt had been skiing all season with an aching back, and his condition worsened few weeks before the Olympics in February. The pain was almost unbearable on the morning of the downhill in Kitzbuehel, and Reichelt considered pulling out of the race shortly before the start. But only briefly. You dont leave the start gate of the Streif backward, he said. Somehow, I managed to get it out of my mind.Reichelt sped down the demanding 3.3-kilometre course and finished ahead of pre-race favourites Aksel Lund Svindal and Bode Milller to become the first Austrian win on the Streif since Michael Walchhofers triumph in 2006. Due to the herniated disk, I could have easily lost control of my right leg while racing at 130 kph.Reichelt has returned without any pain in his back, and apart from specific mobility exercises and additional physiotherapy, his training schedule is back to normal.I am totally free of pain now, thats nice, he said.A former giant slalom and super-G specialist, Reichelt developed into a top downhill racer in the same year Walchhofer retired — 2011.Reichelt started the race in Kitzbuehel that year with bib 44 but ended the race in 19th.That was the first step to becoming a real downhill racer, he said.Having competed in the discipline since 2005, Reichelt got his first downhill podium at Lake Louise, Alberta in November 2011, and his first win — shared with Dominik Paris — in Bormio, Italy, 13 months later.Since the 2011-12 season, Reichelt has been on the podium 12 times in 30 downhills, including three wins. And hes eager for more, not just in Kitzbuehel but also at next months world championships in Beaver Creek, Colorado.I am not yet thinking about the worlds, Reichelt said. But there is still room in my trophy cabinet and I am hungry for more. ' ' '

Ivory Coast, Greece meet in crucial Group C finale (Live on TSN Radio 1050, TSN Radio 690 and TEAM Radio 1410 at 4pm et/1pm pt) The Ivory Coast and Greece will meet in a crucial Group C match on Tuesday at the Estadio Castelao with a spot in the knockout round on the line. Jonathan Huberdeau Jersey . Les Elephants got their group-stage campaign off to a flying start with a 2-1 victory over Japan, but suffered a setback on Thursday with a 2-1 loss to group-leaders Colombia at the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia. The Ivory Coast managed to keep Colombia off the score sheet in the first half, but they couldnt hold them off in the second half as goals from James Rodriguez and Juan Fernando Quintero scored to lift Los Cafeteros to the victory. Colombia struck for the opener in the 64th minute as a corner kick from Juan Guillermo Cuadrado was expertly nodded into the top left corner of the net by Rodriguez. Colombia doubled its advantage in the 70th minute following a giveaway from the Ivory Coast in the center of the park. Gutierrez advanced the ball and slid a well-weighted pass into the path of Quintero, who slotted a left-footed shot past the on-rushing Boubacar Barry. Ivory Coast pulled one back just three minutes later. It was Gervinho who did the honors, capping a weaving run from the left flank by pumping a right- footed shot past Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina at the near post. But it wasnt enough as Les Elephants could not find an equalizer. "We didnt deserve to lose, I feel a draw would have been fair," Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lambouchi said. "We made a few untimely errors and paid a heavy price. Im not going to get too carried away with what went on, there are only some small things to iron out ahead of the next game. Well now go back to our camp and get plenty of rest, because well need to beat Greece by a big margin. I cant see us qualifying any other way." Greece, meanwhile, is coming off a scoreless draw against Japan in Natal at the Estadio das Dunas on Thursday. A win for the Greeks would keep them alive for a spot in the round-of-16 with four points, but they could still go home if Japan beats Colombia earlier in the day. The run of play in Thursdays affair was even until the 38th minute when Greece had Kostas Katsouranis sent off for a second caution, which came by way of a sliding challenge on Makoto Hasebe. But the Greeks almost took the lead shortly after when Vasilis Torosidis took a failed clearance and hammered a shot on goal, but goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima was equal to the task, turning the attempt out of play to deny the Roma man. "We struggled to even get close to the Japanese box, particularly in the first half. Thats why I feel we played really well in the second 45 minutes," Greek head coach Fernando Santos said. "We thought Japan might change their style and play more long balls, rather than always playing short passes. We now need to win our next game because Cote dIvoire have three points and weve just one. We need to find a way to put the Ivorians under pressure. I hope that everything turns out like Euro 2004, when Greece also needed to win their last [group] game and ended up going through." EDMONTON -- The Edmonton Oilers might not be headed to another draft lottery if theyd had Ben Scrivens in net all season. Kenny Stills Dolphins Jersey . Scrivens stopped 48 shots and captain Andrew Ference scored in overtime as the Oilers pulled off a 4-3 upset of the Anaheim Ducks on Friday. Ference intercepted the puck at centre ice with the teams playing three skaters aside in overtime and unleashed a bullet just across the blue-line that beat Ducks goalie Jonas Hiller. "Scrivens bailed us out a lot tonight, it wasnt a complete game by us," Ference said. "They had some really good chances, but theyre a good team and they drove us back, especially that top line. Thats what we have a good goalie for, so its nice to see him come up big. The penalty kill at the end was huge. Were not going to get picky about having some positive feelings in here." Sam Gagner, Jordan Eberle and Oscar Klefbom also scored for the second-last place Oilers (26-39-9), who snapped a three-game losing skid. Scrivens, who set a record for most saves in a shutout with 59 against San Jose earlier this season, was all smiles after the game. "Its always fun to win in overtime," he said. "Im really happy for Oscar to get his first NHL goal, he should be very proud of that and for our captain to step up and bring it home, it was huge." Oilers head coach Dallas Eakins said his team seemed to wake up late in the game after being "extraordinarily cautious" for the first two periods. "I thought we played much better in the third, but for two periods I didnt love how we were playing," he said. "Our goalie was keeping us in it and we had the ability to finish when we did have a chance." Nick Bonino, Patrick Maroon and Mathieu Perreault responded for the Ducks (47-18-, who had a two-game winning streak come to an end and missed out on an opportunity to move into a tie for first in the Pacific Division with the idle San Jose Sharks. The Ducks remain one win short of tying their franchise record of 48 wins in a season, set in 2006-07 when they won their only Stanley Cup. "We let them hang around," Maroon said. "We couldnt find a way to keep going at them and they get that goal in overtime. We have to play hard for 60 minutes every night. We cant just play 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off. We had them. It was there." Ducks head coach Bruce Boudreau agreed that his team squandered what should have been a win. "We pissed away a point," he said. "We had opportunities to win it and put it away and we didnt. When you let a team back into a game, that happens and you are not going to get what you want. We certainly had our chances. We had pucks lying around in the crease, we were hitting posts and crossbars. "(Scrivens) was pretty good tonight. Anytime you get over 50 shots on goal and you lose, you have to tip your hat a little bit to the goalie." It didnt take Anaheim long to take a lead in the game, scoring just 35 seconds in, as Bonino converted a nice give-and-go with Ryan Getzlaf for his 19th goal of the season on the games first shot. The Oilers tied the game up on their first shot of the contest just shy of five minutes into the first period as Gagner took a pass on a two-on-one from David Perron and beat Hiller with a backhand shot. It was Gagners 100th career NHL goal. Edmonton caught a bit of a break a minute later as a deflected shot that Scrivens simply did not see clanged off the crossbar. Anaheim out-shot the Oilers 12-5 in the opening period. Edmonton had a bit more luck on their side four minutes into the second period as a shot got past Scrivens and was rolling into the net before Taylor Hall swooped in and fished it to safety just before it crossed the goal-line. Scrivens helped his own cause a couple minutes later with a huge diving save in tight on Ducks forward Jakob Silfverberg. The Oilers took a 2-1 lead midway through the second on an odd-man rush with a delayed penalty on the way as Ryan Nugent-Hopkins shrugged off a defender and fed the puck to Eberle, who beat Hiller with a high shot for his 24th goal of the season. Anaheim tied the game with just under five minutes left in the second as they were given several cracks at a loose puck in front of the Oilers net before Maroon batted it in. The shots favoured the Ducks 28-12 after 40 minutes of play. Edmonton regained the lead eight-and-a-half minutes into the third period as Klefbom scored on a shot through traffic from the slot. It was the first career NHL goal for the rookie defenceman, playing in his ninth game. Anaheim knotted the game back up with four-and-a-half minutes to play in the third as a Perreault shot hit Halls stick in front and deflected into the top corner before Scrivens could react, eventually sending the game to extra time. The shots were 42-20 for Anaheim at the end of regulation and ended up at 51-23. The Ducks close out a three-game trip in Vancouver on Saturday. Edmonton finishes off a six-game homestand on Sunday against the New York Rangers. (SportsNetwork. Hydro Flask 24 OZ .com) - The rolling Anaheim Ducks will aim for a fifth straight victory on Sunday, when they welcome the Vancouver Canucks for a Pacific Division battle at the Honda Center. Anaheim enters Sunday leading the NHL with 29 points thanks to a stellar 14-3-1 record. The Ducks picked up a fourth straight win in Fridays rout of the visiting Buffalo Sabres and stayed perfect on home ice this season with a 7-0-0 record in Orange County. Ryan Getzlaf recorded his first career hat trick to lead the way in Fridays 6-2 blowout win over the Sabres. The centerman notched goals No. 8, 9 and 10 of the season in the easy victory and also added an assist. "You could tell, as soon as he started his skating, that Ryan was great. When we got the power-play goal early, it was because he did something he doesnt normally do, which is jump right into the play after a shot. As soon as he did that, I said Ok, hes going to have a good game. Consequently, he got four points in the first period," said Anaheim head coach Bruce Boudreau. Dustin Penner added a goal and three assists, while Cam Fowler and Andrew Cogliano both scored as well for the Ducks, who also improved to 7-0-1 over their past eight trips to the ice. Rookie netminder Frederik Andersen stopped 25-of-27 shots for his fifth win in as many starts. Jonas Hiller expects to get the start on Sunday and is 10-5-3 with a 3.03 goals against average in 19 career outings against the Canucks. The Ducks are closing a three-game homestand on Sunday before heading out on a four-game road trip. The swing is set to begin Tuesday at Florida. Sundays tilt is the first of five scheduled meetings between the Ducks and Canucks this season. The clubs are now in the same division thanks to the onset of realignment. Vancouver and Anaheim have alternated wins and losses over the last 11 meetings in this series, with the Ducks winning six times during that stretch. The Canucks have claimed two straight and three of the past four tilts at the Honda Center. Vancouver will try to bounce back from a rough loss after taking a 5-1 beating Saturday night in Los Angeles. The hometown Kings led 2-0 after the first period and were leading by the final 5-1 margin midway through the second. Dan Hamhuis scored the lone goal for Vancouver with Kevin Bieksa and Ryan Kesler picking up the helpers. It was the second loss in three games for the Canucks and their third setback in five trips to the ice. Roberto Luongo was chased from the net after allowing four goals on 18 shots. Eddie Lack stopped 13-of-14 shots in relief. "I thought in the first two periods we had surges early, but couldnt score. Its a 5-1 game and you think you got spanked, but I thought (Kings goaltender Jonathan) Quick made some really important saves at key times. We had some breakdowns, and its in the back of our net," said Vancouver head coach John Tortorella. Despite Saturdays loss, the Canucks still boast a solid 7-3-2 record on the road this season. The club is completing a four-game road trip tonight and will begin a six-game homestand with Thursdays showdown against San Jose. Hydro Flask 32 OZ . The Coyotes bought a suite for the Stadium Series game, which could serve as a test run for other warm-weather events, and the team would love to host one next season, president and CEO Anthony LeBlanc said. "Its very attractive to us," LeBlanc said. "Were trying to grow the brand of the National Hockey League in Arizona, which is a non-traditional market. Anything we can do that will help us accelerate growing that brand were going to do." The plan would be to hold it around the Super Bowl, which is set for early February at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Chase Field, the home of MLBs Arizona Diamondbacks, would be the most logical place. That has a retractable roof, as does University of Phoenix Stadium, which is home to the NFLs Cardinals. "The two stadiums that wed be looking at both have retractable roofs. It gives that insurance policy," LeBlanc said. "And of course theyre doing (the Heritage Classic) game at BC Place in Vancouver, so theres already the legacy of having a domed game." In a perfect world, LeBlanc said, the Coyotes would host an outdoor game with the roof open. But he added that nice weather is "pretty easy to bank on" in early February. "Ninety-nine days out of a hundred its sunny," LeBlanc said. "The last thing we would want, and I think thats the concern with the L. Hydro Flask Rietje. A. game, is what happens if it rains. We deal with that issue. What if it rains and what if its too hot? But from what I understand, the ice-making is pretty phenomenal, and the efforts that theyre going through to ensure that that ice is up to NHL standards is pretty impressive." The NHL is putting on six outdoor games this season: the Winter Classic between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, the Ducks against the Kings at Dodger Stadium; two games at Yankee Stadium, one between the New York Rangers and New York Islanders and the other between the Rangers and New Jersey Devils; the Pittsburgh Penguins against the Chicago Blackhawks at Soldier Field and the Heritage Classic at BC Place in Vancouver between the Canucks and Ottawa Senators. Daly said on Fan 590 that it was the plan to continue multiple outdoor games next season. The Washington Capitals will host the Winter Classic on New Years Day against an opponent that has yet to be announced at a venue that has yet to be announced. If the league sticks to that plan, the Coyotes want a shot at hosting in order to increase interest in hockey in Arizona. "It wouldnt be the impact of the revenue from that particular game, it would be the impact that that game would have on us in selling tickets throughout the year," LeBlanc said. "Our view is that would certainly help us in driving more season tickets, it would help us in driving (partial season-ticket plans). Its just bringing more attention to the sport." ' ' '

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs young hitters have received virtually all the attention late this summer. Thomas Chabot Senators Jersey . But its been the organizations pitching prospects, led by Kyle Hendricks, who have experienced instant success in the big leagues. Hendricks, who didnt reach the majors until July, kept up his impressive rookie season, pitching seven strong innings as the Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds 3-1 Wednesday night for a sweep. Hendricks (7-2) allowed one run and seven hits. He walked none, struck out four and now has a 2.28 ERA. The right-hander bounced back nicely from his last start where he allowed four runs in six innings in an 11-1 loss at Toronto. "I came in just trying to learn and see what big league hitters and big league baseball, overall, was all about," Hendricks said. "Ive definitely learned a ton and Ive been able to have success, too, and thats ultimately what I was hoping for." The 24-year-old now has to be considered one of the teams top prospects, along with everyday players Kris Bryant, Javier Baez and Jorge Soler. "I think we have a lot of great building blocks going forward," Hendricks said. "To be a part of that, Im honoured." Chris Valaika, Ryan Kalish and Luis Valbuena each had a run-scoring hit as the Cubs won their third straight. They improved to 38-36 at Wrigley Field despite being 16 games under .500 overall. Hector Rondon pitched the ninth for his 25th save in 29 chances. Daniel Corcino (0-1) lost in his second big league start. The Reds have dropped four in a row overall. They scored just one run in the three-game series against the Cubs, and were held to one hit in a shutout loss Tuesday night. "Its been a tough road trip to this point," Cincinnati manager Bryan Price said. "Were 1-5, scored 10 runs in six games, five of those in our one win. Yeah, weve struggled to score." The Reds, with a makeshift lineup of mostly backups and September call-ups, didnt waste any time jumping on top. Leadoff batter Kristopher Negron started the game with a double and later scored on a grounder by Yorman Rodriguez. But that was all the Reds could manage. Their best scoring opportunity after the opening inning came in the seventh when, with two on and two out, Negron hit a liner toward the left-field wall that Chris Coghlan caught before running and jumping into the ivy. "I didnt think that was going to stay in when he first hit it," Hendricks said. "Coghlan, what can I say? I mean, going back, jumping up there, he saved the game, really." The Cubs scored twice in the second. Soler walked and later scored on a single by Valaika. Kalish hit a double to centre that appeared to score two runners, but Valaika was sent back to third when the ball was lost in the ivy for a ground-rule double. TRAINERS ROOM Reds: 1B Joey Votto (left knee) continues to make progress and the hope is he can return to the lineup before the end of the season. Cubs: CF-2B Arismendy Alcantara missed a second straight game with a mild sprain of the right wrist. He is listed as day-to-day. UP NEXT Reds: Off on Thursday before continuing the road trip Friday night in St. Louis. LHP David Holmberg (1-1, 6.00) pitches the opener for the Reds. Cubs: Host the NL West-leading Los Angeles on Thursday in the first of a four-game series. LHP Tsuyoshi Wada (4-3, 3.34) takes on RHP Zack Greinke (15-8, 2.64) in the opener. WAITING FOR THE CALL Bryant was honoured before the game for being picked the Cubs minor league player of the years, but admitted that he would have preferred to make his first appearance at Wrigley this year in uniform. "I guess its bittersweet," he said. "Its always been my dream to play in the big leagues and I sure hope that day comes some time soon." Bryant wasnt among the minor leaguers promoted when rosters expanded Sept. 1 and hell probably begin next season in the minors as well. That way the Cubs can gain an extra year before he becomes eligible for arbitration and free agency. Splitting time between Double-A Tennessee and Triple-A Iowa, the 22-year-old hit a combined .325 with 43 homers (most in the minors) and 110 RBIs. Mark Borowiecki Jersey . Coverage of Englands Super 10 Group 1 match in India starts at 1.30pm on Sky Sports 2 HD.Ten places in the first-choice XI are all-but assured, leaving one bowling slot to be debated prior to the clash in Mumbai.Uncapped spinner Liam Dawson may well get that place in the team when captain Eoin Morgans side move on to Delhi next week but England do not expect as much turn at the Wankhede Stadium and will choose between the pace pair. James Cole looks ahead to Englands World Twenty20 opener with the West Indies I have an idea in my head. You can keep guessing, Morgan said, when questioned by the media about the selection issue. We have a strong squad of 15, which is the biggest bonus coming into this tournament because the team will change throughout moving from Mumbai to Delhi and potentially on from there.Plunkett is an important player in the squad, with his extra bit of height and different trajectory to everyone else. David Willey got a hat-trick against his England team-mates on Monday as he played for a Mumbai team to get some match practice Wills swings it up front, comes back into the middle and bowls change-ups. He has a canny knack of taking wickets and thats something that weve struggled doing for a while.Thats one of his strengths.England, winners of this competition in 2010, are looking to improve upon their recent tournament form, having exited at the group stage at the previous World T20 and last years World Cup.Morgan has a young, vibrant side at his disposal this time - with six of the travelling party taking part in their first global event - and senses a sea change in their approach. It certainly feels different in that regard. The West Indies have had a turbulent build-up even by their own standards with a pay dispute, squad withdrawals, Andre Russell under investigation for missed doping tests and star spinner Sunil Narine suspended with an illegal action. West Indies captain Darren Sammy insists his team are ready to take on England But captain Darren Sammy said: We as a team have supported Russell and we are confident he will be taking part in the full tournament and having an impact like hes done in all the last four tournaments he has played around the world. England captain Eoin Morgan says the squad is in a confident mood He added: As a team, we always have setbacks. We can use that as motivation to go out and play well. When we play well, no other team can match it... the vibes we bring. The West Indies will be ready to take on England. Were all fired up. Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork. Saquon Barkley Giants Jersey .com) - Braden Holtby stopped 38 shots and Washington scored three late goals in the second period for a 3-2 win over Chicago. Joel Ward, Andre Burakovsky and Marcus Johansson scored in the final five minutes of the second period for the Capitals, who snapped a five-game slide. Brandon Saad and Duncan Keith lit the lamp for the Blackhawks, who have lost three of four. Corey Crawford turned aside 21 shots in defeat. All these teams are getting better and tightening up, said Keith. Its not something new, teams are ready to play against us. Trailing by two, the Caps made it a one-goal game with 4:57 to play in the second as a 2-on-1 break saw Burakovsky skate down the left wing and snap a shot over the glove of Crawford for his third of the year. Inside the final minute, Johansson threw a turnaround shot on net from the right circle that was going wide, but it hit off the stick of Chicagos Brent Seabrook in front and slipped past Crawford with 46.3 seconds showing. The Capitals then took a 3-2 lead into the second intermission as Matt Niskanens long blast from the right point was redirected in by Ward in front with just 4.4 seconds left. It just goes to show how fast things can turn around in a game, said Ward. It kind of got switched around for us because weve had a few games where weve had the lead and given it up. Holtby came up with 13 stops in the final period, saving his best for last as Chicago pulled Crawford for an extra attacker late in the game. He made stops on Brad Richards and Keith in the final seconds to hang on for the win. Chicago scored with 2:48 to play in the first as a 2-on-1 between Marian Hossa and Saad was finished off by Saad with a one-timer from the right wing. Just 56 seconds into the second period, Chicago made it a 2-0 game on the power play as Keith blasted home a shot from the left point for his third of the season. Game Notes Chicago was 1-for-3 on the power play while Washington failed on its only opportunity ... Chicago hosts San Jose on Sunday ... Washington hosts Carolina on Saturday ... These clubs split a pair of games last season. Doug Kotar Jersey . - Free agent defensive end Will Smith has signed with the New England Patriots. Mark Bavaro Jersey http://www.authenticnygiantspro.com/Julian-love-giants-jersey/ . - The Green Bay Packers got back to work on Friday without star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. With injuries, lineup changes and other roster moves affecting playing time, it is important to keep your fantasy lineup up-to-date. Here are some under-the-radar players to take a look at to fill in the final spots on your team, as well as some who no longer warrant ownership. Also, a quick look at some players who had notable weeks, both good and bad. Take a look at… Eric Gordon (SG - NO) – 33.5% owned: Gordon struggled mightily at the beginning of the season before suffering a shoulder injury that caused him to miss just over a month. Owners wouldn’t have been blamed for dropping him at that point, but Gordon has returned to being a scorer since coming back. He is a guarantee for triples and does enough in other areas to be owned. He has benefitted offensively from an absence of Anthony Davis and Jrue Holiday, but will still be able to produce when the team is at full strength. Elfrid Payton (PG - Orl) – 29.6% owned: The rookie did not play well in the first half of the season but seems to have found his groove in the new calendar year. His shooting percentages from both the field and the line have increased dramatically and the consistency of his game has improved. Turnovers and a lack of three-point shot are two big knocks against Payton, but in a thin market of free agent point guards, Payton is most likely available. Donatas Montiejunas (PF - Hou) – 27.7% owned: After all of the dust has settled from the Josh Smith acquisition in Houston, Montiejunas’ value has remained high as a starter on the Rockets. He is a regular for scoring in the teens and gives a bonus to owners as a power forward who can hit a three. He has shot the ball extremely well in January (.586%) and will get rebounds as well. He is boom or bust from the free-throw line each game, but his overall production on a loaded Rockets team is a nice under-the-radar pickup. J.J. Hickson (PF/C - Den) – 12% owned: With rookie starter Jusuf Nurkic struggling since taking over the job from the now traded Timofey Mozgov, Hickson has been able to pick up the slack coming off the bench for the Nuggets. Hickson has posted three double-doubles in his last five games. He won’t provide owners with any defensive stats, which is frustrating for a big man, but owners looking for some help up front could add Hickson. Maybe say goodbye to… Terrence Ross (SG/SF - Tor) – 27.3% owned: His recent stretch of brutal play during in January has been a disappointment to both owners and the Raptors. Ross struggled to efficiently increase his workload when DeMar DeRozaan was injured, and now that the latter is back, Ross’ play has led to a total of seven points and a second half benching in his last three games. Michael Strahan Youth Jersey. His shot hasn’t been falling and he doesn’t provide anything else to warrant keeping on a roster. Amare Stoudemire (PF/C - NYK) – 21.4% owned: Despite being one of the season’s early surprises, old injury habits have caught up to Stoudemire, who has only played in two of the Knicks’ last 13 games. While the Knicks could use any help available, Stoudemire can’t be relied upon to play every night. There are many healthier, more consistent options available that are better than whatever Stoudemire has left in the tank for this season. Andrew Bogut (C - GSW) – 37.1% owned: Another big man with an injury history, Bogut has been unable to rekindle his early season numbers since returning six games ago. While it could just be a matter of time until he gets it going again, his low minutes and shots remain a concern. The Warriors went on a tear while he was injured, and it looks like they may be sticking to what was working. There are stronger options out there for the frontcourt. Evan Fournier (SG – Orl) – 14.6% owned: With Orlando almost at full strength, Fournier has seen his role decrease ever since the return of Victor Oladipo. As the season has progressed, his shooting percentages have fallen, and that’s not what you want to happen when your limited value is as a shooter. He never provided owners with much more than three-pointers, therefore Fournier is not worth keeping around. The week that was: Hot: Mo Williams (Min) dropped a cool 52 points on Tuesday against the Pacers, setting both a career-high and team record. He’s filled in nicely on offence since Zach LaVine was benched and Shabazz Muhammad went down. Al Horford (Atl) notched his first career triple-double in a win over the 76ers and is a huge reason why the Hawks are leading the Eastern Conference. Rudy Gobert (Uta) recorded eight rebounds in the first quarter against the Spurs and continues to be a terrorizing shot blocker, swatting away over three attempts a game. Not: Shooting an ugly 31.7% on close to 14 shots a game, C.J. Miles (Ind) also went 2-for-21 on three-pointers this week. A disappointment for most of the season, Nicolas Batum (Por) shot only .167% and scored only 12 points in three games for Portland. Lance Stephenson (Cha) finally returned to the Hornets lineup and continued to shoot the ball poorly. It looks like he will be coming off the bench for now. ' ' '

Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork. Custom Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jerseys .com) - Lou Williams 18 points and a strong second half enabled the Toronto Raptors to pull away for a 95-82 victory over the Orlando Magic at Air Canada Centre. The Raptors stepped up on the defensive end to overcome a 52-44 halftime deficit, holding Orlando to a mere 30 points while forcing 12 turnovers over the final two quarters to earn their 10th straight win over the Magic. Orlando shot just 37.1 percent in the second half after hitting at a 59 percent clip prior to the break. Williams and Kyle Lowry each made big impacts as well, with the latter tallying 11 of his 17 points after intermission in addition to dishing out eight assists. Tobias Harris led Orlando with 18 points but had only four in the second half. Ben Gordon finished with 16 points in the loss, with Nikola Vucevic posting 13 points and nine rebounds. Despite their second-half struggles, the Magic had the score knotted at 63-63 entering the latter stages of the third quarter. The Raptors then got hot from the perimeter, putting together an 11-2 run to take control. Lowry began the surge with a 3-pointer and Patrick Patterson buried two more to cap the stretch, which staked the Raptors to a 74-65 lead 1:37 into the fourth quarter. Threes from Evan Fournier and Channing Frye highlighted a 7-0 stretch that cut the margin to two, but the Magic then failed to score for nearly four minutes as Toronto put the game away with a 12-0 swing. The tone of the first half changed after Fournier temporarily exited midway through the second quarter, the result of an inadvertent elbow to the nose from the Raptors Tyler Hansbrough as the two battled for a rebound underneath the basket. Hansbrough scored on the play to give Toronto a 42-36 lead, but the Magic recorded the next 10 points and ended the half on a 16-2 run to take a 52-44 advantage at the break. Harris accounted for the first eight points of the surge, with Gordon netting the next six. Toronto regrouped following the break and hit four of its first five shots of the third quarter, starting a 12-4 flurry that evened the score at 56-56. Five straight points from Landry Fields shortly afterward had the Raptors up 63-58 with 4 1/2 minutes left in the frame, but a Gordon three and a Harris jumper quickly deadlocked things once again. The Raptors were up by as many as 10 points early on, building a 24-14 lead late in the first quarter on the strength of a 14-2 spurt. Orlando then countered with a 13-4 push to close within one on Gordons driving layup to begin the second period. Game Notes Fournier received several stitches for a lacerated lip but returned to the game with 5:29 left in the third quarter. He finished with 11 points ... The Raptors improved to 11-0 this season when holding their opponent under 100 points ... Toronto went 11-of-30 from beyond the arc, compared to a 4-of-15 display for the Magic ... Browns coach Mike Pettine made the announcement Wednesday, deciding to keep Hoyer in the starters role over Johnny Manziel for Sundays game against Indianapolis. After thorough evaluation and talking to the staff, we feel Brian gives us the best opportunity to win on Sunday, said Pettine in a statement on the clubs website. This is a football decision and those are always going to be based on what we think is best for our team. Hoyer was benched early in the fourth quarter of last Sundays 26-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Manziel stepped in and engineered an 8-play, 80-yard drive that he capped with a 10-yard touchdown scramble. Manziel ended the game 5-of-8 for 63 yards, forcing the Browns into a critical decision about the teams future of the quarterback position. Hoyer completed just 18-of-30 passes ffor 192 yards and two interceptions before being benched. Anthony Nelson Womens Jersey. In the past three games, he has thrown only one touchdown pass and six interceptions. Hes our starter going into this game. The Browns are 7-5 heading into Sundays contest with the Colts and are tied with five other teams for the final AFC wild card spot. Brian has led our team to a 7-5 record, Pettine added. Im confident that we can get the entire offense playing at the level needed to accomplish the goals we set at the beginning of the season. Those goals are still very much attainable. Hoyer, who is 10-5 as Clevelands starting quarterback dating back to last season, has throw for 3,056 yards with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 12 games this year. ' ' '

They are in last place in the National League, have the worst record in the Senior Circuit and are tied with Texas for the worst record in the Majors at 47-74. To make matters worse, they lost their two biggest stars, Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez this week on back-to-back days to season-ending injuries. Tulowitzki, who turns 30 in October, needs surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left hip. The 28-year-old Gonzalez is a former batting champ and Gold Glove outfielder who needs an operation to repair a partial tear of the patella tendon in his left knee. While not directly demanding a trade, a couple of weeks back Tulowitzki strongly hinted at one by saying he was sick and tired of all the losing in the Mile High City. With he and Gonzalez in their line-up this season the Rockies were 28-27. Without them they were just 19-47. Colorado, barring a trade of one or the other or both in the off-season, will be paying them a combined $36.5 million next season or roughly a third of their payroll. But this story isnt really about Tulowitzki and Gonzalez. Its about their teammate, 35-year-old Michael Cuddyer. You may have forgotten, as I did, that he won the National League batting title a year ago with a .331 average. He was off to a decent start this year as well when he injured his left shoulder making a diving play at third base. Right now, hes finishing off a rehab assignment and should be ready to rejoin Colorado shortly. In the midst of a dreadful Rockies season, Cuddyer will still be motivated. Hes in the final season of a three-year, $31.5 million contract. He claims to want to stay in Denver and definitely doesnt want to retire. But he could be the perfect rental player for a team like, say, the Blue Jays. Though primarily an outfielder, he has played third base and first base and could DH. Hes also a right-handed hitter who would help the Jays out against left-handed pitching - something Toronto has struggled against this season. Cuddyer would be relatively cheap as well, since he is owed somewhere around $3 million for the remainder of this season. Its just a thought. But if the Jays arent motivated to check out any big ticket items before the August 31 waiver trade deadline, they might want to check out Cuddyer in the bargain bin. Another man the Blue Jays maybe should be interested in is Cubs reliever Carlos Villanueva. The 30-year-old right-hander actually spent two years with the Jays before moving on to the Cubs as a free agent. CCarlos filled a valuable role with the Blue Jays as a spot starter and long reliever, but ultimately he jumped to Chicago for a little more money than the Jays wanted to pay and for the chance to be a starting pitcher - something the Blue Jays werent willing to let him become. Jeffery Simmons Jersey. In that regard, maybe the Jays were right. Villanueva hasnt been all that effective as a starter with Chicago, but has been doing a great job since they basically cemented him in a relief role. Villanueva, like Cuddyer, would be a relatively cheap rental. Hes only owned around $1.6 million for the rest of the season before he becomes a free agent again. Both of these guys are character players, and in Villanuevas case, he was a respected confidante in the clubhouse in his former role as the Blue Jays players rep. Id wager the Blue Jays could get both of these guys for a couple of lower to mid-range prospects. It sure wouldnt hurt. I guess youre always rolling the dice a bit when you trade prospects for established rental talent. Take the Texas Rangers. They picked up Canadian-born righty Ryan Dempster from the Cubs on July 31, 2012 to pump up their staff a bit for the stretch run. Dempster made 12 starts for the Rangers, but despite a 7-3 record got hit around a bit to the tune of a 5.09 ERA and needless to say Texas didnt win the World Series. Dempster moved on to Boston, and after a so-so 8-9 campaign for the Bosox decided to take this year off to get away from the game, spend some time with the family and determine whether he wanted to play any more. So what did the Cubs get in return? Well they landed a third base prospect named Christian Villanueva and a fringe pitching prospect by the name of Kyle Hendricks - not to be confused with the Phillies Kyle Kendricks. Two years later Hendricks is the talk of Chicago, at least on the north side. The soft-tossing 24-year-old 63" right-hander is 4-1 with a 1.73 ERA. Hes struck out 26 and walked only nine while utilizing a Mark Buehrle-like array of off-speed pitches including a great change-up. Texas could certainly use him now with practically their entire rotation on the disabled list including Yu Darvish, whos expected to miss a couple of starts with a neck issue. Speaking of the Rangers, ex-Jay J.P. Arencibia actually got to pitch an inning in a 10-1 blowout loss to Tampa Bay the other night. He threw all fastballs, averaging just over 72 miles per hour and peaking at just above 74. J.P. did pretty well, giving up just an infield single to the four batters he faced. ' ' '

With opportunistic scoring and stellar goaltending, the Canadiens have a 2-1 series edge after a 4-2 victory over their hated rivals in front of 21,273 raucous fans on Tuesday night. P.K. Subban and Dale Weise scored on breakaways and Carey Price stopped 26 shots for Montreal, who made a two-goal advantage stand up for the first time all series. The Habs were up 2-0 in Game 1, blew it but won in double overtime, then squandered a 3-1 edge late in a 5-3 defeat in Game 2. Things were different on Tuesday, however, and the Habs can gain a stranglehold on the defending Eastern Conference champions with another home win. "You can truly dissect it and you can get into all the details, and you can say, Well, this detail wasnt taken care of," Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli told reporters in Brossard on Wednesday. "Its a game of inches. You can dissect the other teams game and you could say the same thing. "At the end of the day, they scored more goals than we did and we lost. But its a game of inches and we have to be better at it. And were good at that. I think were a good team, we break out well. I think our neutral zone is good, I think our forecheck is good. It wasnt as good as it should be, but that happens. Its a long series, and well see where it goes." The Bruins may be making some lineup changes to spark things up for tonights all-important game. The lines at the morning skate had Patrice Bergeron centring Milan Lucic and Loui Eriksson, David Krejci between Daniel Paille and Reilly Smith and Gregory Campbell on a line with Brad Marchand and Jarome Iginla. Also, Carl Soderberg was not on the ice but Bruins head coach Claude Julien said he would be available for tonights game. When asked about the new line combinations, Julien responded, "It gives (the media) something to write about so you dont get bored." The team recalled big, physical winger Matt Fraser from Providence on Thursday morning and sent Justin Florek back down. The 61, 200 lb forward played in 14 games this season with the Bruins scoring two goals and tallying two fights during his NHL stint. He also scored 20 goals and 30 points in 44 regular-season games with Providence. The Canadiens are expected to put out the same lineup that won Game 3, with Douglas Murray remaining on the blue line alongside Mike Weaver and Travis Moen up front in place of Brandon Prust. Director of player development Jim Hughes at last summers prospects camp pegged Verhaeghe as a long-term project — someone who could be almost two years from reaching his full potential. "Where Verhaeghe is today and where hes going to be 18 months from now, well see a major transition in his game," Hughes said in July. CANTON, Ohio -- First-year nominees Derrick Brooks, Tony Dungy, Marvin Harrison and Walter Jones were among the 15 modern-era Pro Football Hall of Fame finalists in voting announced Thursday night. Wayne Chrebet Womens Jersey . Brooks was a linebacker with Tampa Bay; Dungy coached Tampa Bay and Indianapolis, leading the Colts to a Super Bowl title in 2007; Harrison was a receiver for Indianapolis; and Jones was an offensive tackle with Seattle. Former New York Giants defensive end Michael Strahan also was selected a modern-era finalist along with defensive end/linebacker Charles Haley, defensive end/linebacker Kevin Greene, receiver Andre Reed, running back Jerome Bettis, receiver/returner Tim Brown, safety John Lynch, guard Will Shields, cornerback/safety Aeneas Williams, kicker Morten Andersen and former San Francisco owner Edward DeBartolo Jr. Punter Ray Guy and defensive end Claude Humphrey were announced as senior nominees in August. The 46-member selection committee will vote Feb. 1 in New York, with a minimum 80 per cent required for induction. Former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue failed to advance. Former coaches Jimmy Johnson and Don Coryell and general manager George Young also dropped out along with fellow semifinalists Steve Atwater, Roger Craig, Terrell Davis, Joe Jacoby, Karl Mecklenburg and Steve Wisniewski. Strahan, Andersen and Lynch are in their second year of eligibility. Shields is in his third year, Bettis his fourth, Brown and Williams their fifth, Reed his ninth, and Greene and Haley their 10th. The modern-era finalists were chosen by the selection committee from a list of 126 nominees that was reduced to 25 semifinalists. Each finalist received a minimum vote of 80 per cent. To be eligible, modern-era players and coaches must have last played or coached more than five seasons ago. If selected, Guy would become the first punter to be inducted. Andersen would become the second pure kicker, following Jan Stenerud. Cris Carter, Jonathan Ogden, Larry Allen, Bill Parcells, Warren Sapp, Dave Robinson and Curley Culp were inducted last year, the 50th anniversary celebration of the hall. Sam Darnold Womens Jersey . But realistically, this is a much different team. The Bearkats are headed back to the FCS semifinals for the third time in four seasons after beating sixth-seeded Villanova, 34-31, in the quarterfinals Saturday while the Wildcats played without star quarterback John Robertson because of symptoms from a concussion. Unseeded Sam Houston State (11-4), which has won three playoff games, will play at second-seeded North Dakota State (13-1) in the semifinals next weekend. The Bearkats lost to the Bison in both the 2011 and 12 national championship games. Sam Houston has few key players from those recent powers and even has a first- year coach in K.C. Keeler, who coached against Villanova for 11 seasons in CAA Football while at Delaware from 2002-12. The Bearkats had prepared to face Robertson in the teams first-ever meeting, but that changed Saturday after he awoke with a headache from the concussion he suffered in last weekends playoff win over Liberty. Robertson, a redshirt junior who was the CAA Football offensive player of the year, went through concussion protocols during the week and was cleared to play against Sam Houston State, but he was scratched by the teams medical staff following an examination Saturday morning. Jalen Overstreets 1-yard touchdown run with 4:03 left to play gave Sam Houston its 34-31 lead. Villanova (11-3), behind Robertsons replacement, senior Chris Polony, moved the ball down to the Bearkats 29, but drew an ill-timed delay- of-game penalty while setting up for a potential, game-tying 46-yard field goal attempt. That made it a 51-yard attempt for Chris Gough and he missed wide to the left with 32 seconds left. Polony played well in relief of Robertson. He completed 13-of-24 pass attempts for 228 yards and one touchdown, and carried the 13 times for 87 yards and two touchdown. Very Robertson-esque, in fact. Sam Houston seems so different because it has jelled with a team that has eight FBS transfers and 18 starters who didnt start in Keelers first spring game. New quarterback Jared Johnson, last years backup behind four-year starter Brian Bell, was 22-for-27 for 303 yards and three touchdowns in the win. Leading 17-16 at halftime, Sam Houston scored on the first play of the third quarter when Johnson threw a 66-yard bomb to LaDarius Brown for their second touchdown connection. But Villanova tailback Kevin Monangai scored on a 58-yard run with 9:36 left in the third quarter and Kevin Gulyas caught the two-point conversation from Polony to tie the game 24-24. Luc Swimberghes 30-yard field goal with 10:54 left in the fourth quarter put Sam Houston back in front, 27-24. But Villanova answered with a nine-play, 67-yard drive, which was capped by Polony rolling out from a shotgun for a 1-yard touchdown run to make it 31-27 Wildcats with 7:15 left. Sam Houston had an answer as well, moving 75 yards in 10 plays and going ahead 34-31 on Overstreets 1-yrd run up the middle at the 4:03 mark. Polony had originally beaten out Robertson for the No. 1 job in 2012, but Robertson had made 35 straight starts for the Wildcats before Saturdays game. Polony accounted for two touchdowns in the first quarter. He connected with wide receiver Poppy Livers for a 54-yard touchdown pass to pull Villanova within 7-6 before the extra point was missed. He later scored on a 36-yard keeper to give the Wildcats a 13-7 lead. But Sam Houston answered that score with a 12-play, 80-yard drive, moving back ahead 14-13 after Johnsons second touchdown pass, a 4-yarder to Gerald Thomas with 9:54 remaining in the second quarter. Swimberghe extended Sam Houstons lead with a 32-yard field goal, but Gough, who missed the earlier extra point, closed the half with a 46-yard field goal to pull the Wildcats within 17-16. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- No. 1 seed North Dakota State (13-1) 39, No. 7 seed Coastal Carolina (12-2) 32 Fargo, ND - North Dakota State trailing in the fourth quarter has been a rarity during its three-year reign as the FCS champion, but the Bison have come from behind to win two consecutive playoff games in eight days. Indeed, they continue to have the collective heart of a champion even as teams get closer in the rear-view mirror. Running back John Crockett rushed for a school playoff-record 227 yards and two touchdowns and became the Bisons new single-season rushing leader while second-seeded North Dakota State held off seventh-seeded Coastal Carolina, 39-32, Saturday for the second consecutive year in the national quarterfinals. The game was far different from North Dakota States 48-14 playoff rout of Coastal last season, but the Bison (13-1) will host Sam Houston State (11-4) in the national semifinals next weekend. The Bison defeated Sam Houston in both the 2011 and 12 national championship games. A week ago, the Bison rallied past Missouri Valley Conference rival South Dakota State in the final minute of their second-round game. On Saturday, they fell behind for the first time, 32-31, on Coastal running back DeAngelo Hendersons 2-yard touchdown run to open the fourth quarter. The Chanticleers, however, failed on a two-point attempt after a second straight score, keeping their lead at one point. North Dakota State then retook the lead two possessions later when Crockett found running room along the Coastal sideline and scored on a 45-yard dash with 9:28 remaining to play. Quarterback Carson Wentz ran up the middle to score a two-point conversion and lift the Bison advantage to 39-32. On Coastals next drive, the Chanticleers converted a fake punt just inside their territory, but didnt gain another first down on the drive. After NDSUs Adam Keller missed a 49-yard field goal that could have put the win away, Bison safety Colten Heagle (team-high 12 tackles) stymied the Chants final drive with an interception of Alex Ross just inside Bison territory with 53 seconds remaining. Crockett, whos gained three 1,000--yard seasons, has 1,754 this season on a school-record 320 carries, including 26 on Saturday. Quinnen Williams Jersey. . Hes scored 17 of his 18 touchdowns on the ground. Wentz accounted for three touchdowns (two passing, one rushing) in the win. But Big South co-champion Coastal Coastal Carolina (12-2) was nearly up to the challenge, scoring the most points against NDSU during the Bisons playoff win streak. Henderson had 143 rushing yards and the touchdown, Ross rushed for two touchdowns and All-American Quinn Backus finished with eight tackles to end his illustrious career with 441 stops, 14th on the FCS all-time list. North Dakota State, which had won 22 straight home games and 14 consecutive playoff games, had hoped to assert itself in the second half after clinging to a 24-20 halftime advantage. After Coastals offense went three-and-out to begin the third quarter, the Bison completed a nine-play, 69-yard drive with Wentzs 2-yard scoring run around right end providing a 31-20 lead. But Ross capped the Chanticleers following possession by diving into the North Dakota State for a 4-yard touchdown and they pulled within 31-26 at the 3:29 mark. Hendersons go-ahead touchdown capped a quick-strike, four-play drive which went 95 yards when Ross had a 48-yard pass to John Israel, Henderson a 32-yard run and Ross a 13-yard pass to Osharmar Abercrombie. The first half featured offensive firepower as North Dakota State took a 24-20 lead at halftime. Crockett opened the scoring with a 70-yard touchdown and Wentz fired touchdowns to Kevin Vaadeland and Luke Albers. But Coastal moved the chains and Devin Brown returned a kickoff 98 yards for a touchdown midway through the second quarter, tying the game at 17-17. Alex Catrons 25-yard field goal on the final play of the half pulled Coastal within 24-20. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Saturday, Dec. 13 FCS Playoff Quarterfinals No. 5 seed Illinois State (11-1) at No. 4 seed Eastern Washington (11-2) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Friday, Dec. 12 No. 1 seed New Hampshire (12-1) 35, No. 8 seed Chattanooga (10-4) 30 Durham, NH - All-American wide receiver R.J. Harris is noted as being New Hampshires hardest worker. No doubt hes the Wildcats best player. Harris caught two touchdowns, including on a 61-yard screen pass in the fourth quarter that helped put away top-seeded New Hampshires 35-30 victory over eighth-seeded Chattanooga in the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs Friday night. The win gives the Wildcats (12-1) a semifinal-round date at home next weekend against either fourth-seeded Eastern Washington or fifth-seeded Illinois State, who face each other in another quarterfinal on Saturday. New Hampshire, making its 11th straight playoff appearance under coach Sean McDonnell, has captured 12 straight wins and 14 straight home games, both program records. Harris decisive second touchdown was electrifying. New Hampshire clung to a 28-24 lead in a back-and-forth game when it took possession of the ball at its 39 following a Chattanooga punt early in the fourth quarter. On first down, Harris went in motion and took a handoff from quarterback Sean Goldrich. Harris lateralled the ball to fellow wide receiver Jimmy Giansante, who then flipped it back to Goldrich. The senior signal caller lofted a screen pass to Harris in the backfield at the 30, who immediately picked up blocks and blew past Chattanooga defenders along the sideline to give the Wildcats the games first double-digit lead, 35-24, with 11:04 remaining to play. Nick Cefalo then intercepted Chattanooga quarterback Jacob Huesman on the Mocs ensuing drive and New Hampshire begin milking game clock from there. Huesman had dominated the first half before the Wildcats had defensive answers after halftime. But on Chattanoogas next possession, running back Derraine Craine scored on an 8-yard pass from Huesman with 1:32 left to pull the Mocs with 35-30. With no remaining timeouts, the Mocs needed to recover the ensuing onside kick, but New Hampshires Keith Parkinson did. The Wildcats ran out the clock from there and advanced to the national semifinals for the second consecutive season. Last year, they were eliminated at eventual national champion North Dakota State one step shy of the national championship game. Harris finished with seven receptions for 172 yards. Until his second touchdown, the first-ever meeting between the two conference champions - New Hampshire in CAA Football and Chattanooga in the Southern Conference - was extremely tight. Huesman had 428 total yards and accounted for three touchdowns in Chattanoogas loss, which ended a seven-game losing streak. Goldrich threw for 228 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a score for New Hampshire. The Wildcats went ahead for good 28-24 on Nico Steritis 6-yard draw with 13:23 left in the fourth quarter. But the play nearly didnt happen. Chattanooga defensive back Trevor Knight intercepted Goldrich in the Mocs end zone. But video replay confirmed Knight didnt re-establish himself in the end zone before catching the ball. On the next play, Steriti scored his second touchdown of the game to erase a 24-22 New Hampshire deficit. An attempt for a two-point conversion failed, however. Trailing 22-21 after three quarters, Chattanooga (10-4) went ahead when Henrique Ribeiro kicked a 27-yard field goal on the second play of the fourth quarter. The kick stopped a string of four straight missed field goal attempts by Ribeiro during the playoffs. New Hampshire had kept seven of its previous opponents to under 20 points, but Chattanooga took a 21-15 lead into halftime after Huesman scored from 1 yard out with 21 seconds remaining in the second quarter. It completed a huge first half in which he was 15-for-17 for 167 yards and rushed for another 64 yards and two touchdowns. His second touchdown erased a 15-14 Mocs deficit. Goldrich threw a 49-yard scoring pass to Harris with 4:47 left and then holder Andy Vailas ran in a faked extra point for the two-point conversion. ' ' '

It was a where were you when moment. Jay Novacek Jersey . A day when Brazilian football crumbled. A day when they were embarrassed on the largest stage of all, in front of 200 million of their closest friends. The writing was on the wall very early. It was a ridiculously open game from kick off. In the 4th minute, Miroslav Klose picked up the ball and Thomas Muller was all alone on the right side. Klose didnt make the pass and the Bayern man was fuming. Two more chances followed, both via Muller open on the right, but Germany were still better even at 0-0. Then it came. Fittingly, from a set piece. It will be forgotten about by many – four goals scored in six minutes will do that to you – but when Muller volleyed home a Toni Kroos corner it changed the mindset of both teams. Here was this Germany team, ready to finally get over a significant hurdle, not wanting to wait a long time to insert their dominance. On the other side stood a Brazilian team high on energy, but clearly fragile. A team, and a nation, that had drowned themselves in self pity for four days. Fifteen minutes before Muller opened the scoring, the host nation had sung their heart out for the national anthem holding up the jersey of Neymar as if he was inside an intensive care unit. Germany, the kings of mental toughness, will have seen that as a weakness even before a ball was kicked. In the buildup to the match, observers had wondered if Brazil had crossed the narrow line between a rallying, motivational tool and having a complete, utter obsession with it. When Germany opened the scoring, we got our answer. Following the winning goal against France, via Mats Hummels from a Toni Kroos corner, Joachim Low spoke about how he had learned to rely more on set play moves. Bastian Schweinsteiger had spoke about Bayern Munichs Pep Guardiolas obsession with them. Germany, after all, should know more than most about them. 2010 World Cup semifinal, Durban, South Africa as told by Xavi: "At half-time, Puyol said we had taken three or four corners already and said if you put it near the penalty spot, then we could cause problems." In the 73rd minute at Durban that day, Xavi produced another stunning assist in a major game, and Puyol did exactly what he said. 1-0 Spain. Another victory won by their brilliance on and off the pitch. 2012 Champions League final, Munich. Bayern Munich leading 1-0 against Chelsea. Then Didier Drogba scores on Chelseas first corner of the entire game before winning on penalties. The image of Schweinsteiger shaking on the penalty spot less than an hour later was a very disturbing image for German football. It was an image of a loser. Germany knew Schweinsteiger, and the rest of the golden generation the last decade has produced, were better than that. A year later at Wembley, many of the core group of Lows team became winners; winners that arrived in Brazil knowing they had to put it together on the national stage. A game against hosts Brazil in the World Cup, with or without their best players, certainly wouldnt have overawed this group. The dominance started from the delivery of Kroos. David Luiz lost Muller and the Bayern man knew exactly where his teammate would put the corner. Brazil were behind. It was a scenario that would seriously test a team playing with heavy hearts for their striker, who will likely be playing for Barcelona in two months. David Luiz was at it again soon after. And so was Kroos. Fernandinho guessed incorrectly on a run to get the ball, Kroos found Muller whose brilliant move with Miroslav Klose left Luiz standing still. Incredibly, he stood and watched his marker make it 2-0 and break Ronaldos record. What happened next was absolutely disgraceful for the hosts. Yes, Germany were ruthless, inspired by the magnificent duo of Kroos and Sami Khedira, but Brazils display was pathetic. Three goals in 179 seconds stunned the world. 4-0. Then 5-0 after less than 30 minutes. Brazil were done. They are forced to play another match at this World Cup but they will be best served to start as many players as they can who didnt suffer this footballing massacre. In truth, it will be hard for their professional careers to ever get over this. In the end, the game showed us what frauds they were at this tournament. Average against Croatia, they needed a terrible refereeing decision to get them a victory on the tournaments first day. Against Mexico, they were not much better and the moment Cameroon raised concerns over Dani Alves, Marcelo and David Luiz (three-quarters of the back four!), it was clear they needed to be much better to win the World Cup. Chile and Colombia ran them close but they never came up across a team that had as much quality and big game experience as this German team. It is one thing to be beaten by a much stronger, talented team, it is quite another to crumble and play with pity. Throughout the demolition, Brazil never once showed an emotion as strong as they did while holding up Neymars shirt. Not even in anger. As for Germany, it is a victory that will make them all-time greats, providing they complete the job on Sunday. We have been waiting for true greatness to step up at this World Cup. The Brazilian collapse will hit the headlines today but if Germany lifts the trophy inside the Maracana on Sunday, they will go down as a very special team indeed: a team that made history by completing the biggest victory in World Cup semi final history. Brazil should be remembered for being pathetic but to win a semifinal 7-1 is an incredible achievement. We should not forget just how good Germany played. Deion Sanders Youth Jersey . (SportsNetwork. Cheap Japan Jerseys .com) - The Toronto Raptors hit the road Monday night when they visit the Chicago Bulls at the United Center in a pivotal Eastern Conference showdown. The Raptors remain atop the conference, while the Bulls sit in fourth. The Raptors own the NBAs longest current winning streak at six games. Toronto hasnt lost since Dec. 9 in Cleveland and during this run, it has won two in a row as the visitor. On Sunday, the Raptors collected a comfortable 118-108 home win over the New York Knicks. Kyle Lowry and Lou Williams led the way with 22 points apiece as six players scored in double figures for the Raptors. Lowry also had nine assists and three steals for Toronto. Greivis Vasquez and Terrence Ross tallied 21 and 18 points, respectively. James Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas finished with 10 points apiece. Toronto starts a six-game road trip Monday in Chicago. The odyssey wont be an easy one with stops against the Los Angeles Clippers, Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers, Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns also on the docket. Im ready for it, said Raptors coach Dwane Casey. Ive been preaching it, and we should be ready for it. Everyone is all excited. But again, reality is real, and we have to be ready for adversity whenever it hits. You go in with positive vibes and are ready to kick some behind, but when adversity hits thats when you find out how close we are and how we have to stick together. The Bulls have won two in a row, including a spectacular road victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night. Chicago prevailed, 103-97, and owns a three-game home winning streak. Jimmy Butlers first double-double of the season helped the Bulls to victory. A night after he went for a career-high 35 points in a win over the New York Knicks, Butler netted 31 points with 10 rebounds as the Bulls stopped Memphis six-game winning streak. I think my teammates always trust me to take good shots, Butler said. Weve always played pretty well on the road. We have to turnaround and do it at home. This was definitely a big win. Nikola Mirotic proved to be a spark off the bench for Chicago, scoring a career-high 27 points on 6-of-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Aaron Brooks had 17 points off the bench for the Bulls. Joakim Noah registered a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds, while Pau Gasol grabbed 11 boards in the victory. The Bulls, who have won two straight and five of their last six, were without Derrick Rose (illness) and Taj Gibson (ankle) for a second straight game. Per an ESPN story, both could be back in the lineup Monday night. The Bulls beat the Raptors in Toronto on Nov. 13 and have won three of the last five. Goalie coach Jim Corsi will not return, and assistant Teppo Numminens contract will not be renewed, the Sabres announced. Two other assistants, Joe Sacco and Jerry Forton, have a choice to stay with the Sabres after being offered jobs within the teams hockey department. The moves came three days after the Sabres (21-51-10) finished last in the standings, and closed one the worst and most tumultuous seasons in their 44-year history. The shake-up doesnt come as a surprise. Nolan inherited the staff in November, after being hired on an interim basis to replace Ron Rolston. Nolan has since been signed to a three-year contract and it was widely anticipated that he would begin hiring his own staff this off-season. Former NHL goalie Arturs Irbe is regarded a potential candidate to join Nolans staff. Irbe is from Latvia and has previously worked with Nolan, who has spent the past three years coaching the countrys national team. Corsi was the Sabrees longest tenured assistant after completing his 16th season in Buffalo. Cheap Costa Rica Jerseys. He played a role in mentoring former Sabres great Dominik Hasek and then Ryan Miller, who was traded to St. Louis on Feb. 28. Numminen, a former NHL defenceman, completed his third season in Buffalo after being first hired by former Sabres coach Lindy Ruff. Sacco, the former Colorado Avalanche head coach, and Forton were hired by Rolston last off-season. In the meantime, Sacco will be working as an assistant under United States coach Peter Laviolette at the World Hockey championships in Belarus next month. The Sabres also announced theyre adding a second minor-league affiliate after reaching a deal with Elmira (N.Y.) of the ECHL. Elmira will complement the Sabres top affiliate, AHL Rochester. Both minor-league teams are located within 150 miles of Buffalo. Buffalo is in the midst of rebuilding from scratch. Through a series of trades, the Sabres have stockpiled a significant number of draft picks spread over the next three years, spurring the teams need to add another affiliate. ' ' '

Authentic NBA Jerseys Cheap . - Jaden Schwartz put the exclamation point on a dominant night for the St. Louis Blues.Schwartz completed his first NHL hat trick with 3 seconds remaining to cap the Blues 6-1 rout of the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday night. It was just one of those nights, he said. I was in the slot and the puck was just kind of finding me. Everybody has those games every once in a while and tonight was one of them for me.Jake Allen was strong in goal in his first NHL start in two seasons, finishing with 24 saves.St. Louis Jori Lehtera scored his first career goal and had two assists.David Backes and Alexander Steen each had a goal and an assist, and Vladimir Tarasenko assisted on three goals. Lauri Korpikoski ruined Allens shutout bid with 9:32 left.Backes goal, Lehteras goal, and two of Schwartzs scores came on power plays. St. Louis scored on all four of its power play opportunities.I like the fact we stayed with it right to the end, Blues coach Ken Hitchcock said. We kept coming. Thats the way we have to play. Were a much better team when we dont absorb, we initiate, and I thought we kept initiating the whole game.Schwartz, who also had an assist, made a shot from the point just before the game ended.I didnt think that was going to happen at all, he said. My teammates wanted me to stay on the ice and try to get it. I never had a hat trick, so it was pretty special.Allen had a big game two nights after regular Blues goalie Brian Elliott shut out Los Angeles in a 1-0 shootout loss.Weve had really good goaltending every game weve played so far this year, Hitchcock said. Thats really a good sign. They give us a chance to win every night.Beleaguered goalie Mike Smith had 30 saves for Arizona and has allowed 15 goals in his three games. We didnt move quick enough, move the puck quick enough, check quick enough, all the above, Arizona coach Dave Tippett said. It was a test against a real good team and we did not fare very well.Allen, the AHLs top goalie last season, made his first NHL start since April 21, 2013.Both teams lost key players to injury.St. Louis Paul Stastny, who had four points in three games before Saturday, left with an upper-body injury early in the second period. The Arizona centre had to be helped from the ice.Smith withstood a flurry of St. Louis shots before Arizonas Oliver Eckman-Larsson was called for interference, the games first penalty, with 2:36 left in the first period. Eighteen seconds into the power play, the puck was free in front of the Coyotes net when it glanced in off Backes left skate. After a video review, the goal was upheld, officials ruling that it was not a distinct kick as required to nullify the goal.It was Backes second goal of the young season and the first power-play goal allowed by Arizona. The Blues had a 15-7 advantage in shots in the first period.Backes had another great chance at a goal in the second period when St. Louis had a 3-on-0 advantage, but his wide open shot missed the net far to the left.No matter. After three games of starting four freshmen around sophomore 7-footer Willie Cauley-Stein, coach John Calipari rolled out a rookie lineup of Harrison and twin brother Andrew, James Young, Marcus Lee and Julius Randle. That look lasted just 51 seconds as Cauley-Stein replaced Lee, but the Wildcats (3-1) used other combinations of highly touted recruits. Harrison ended up grabbing the spotlight instead of leading scorer Randle, shooting 7 of 12 from the field and making all 10 free throws. He also had four rebounds and three assists. Randle added 10 points and 15 rebounds and Young had 10 points in the rematch of last springs NIT game won by Robert Morris. The game quickly turned into a mismatch as the bigger, faster, Wildcats jumped out to a 17-2 lead and led by as 40 points. Kentucky shot 28 of 57 from the field (49 per cent), outrebounded the Colonials 56-33 and dominated the inside 36-16. Cauley-Stein finished with a career-high 13 rebounds, and Andrew Harrison had eight points. Karvel Andersons 16 points led Robert Morris (2-2), which shot just 16 of 69 (23 per cent). The game itself was intriguing with the Wildcats facing the team that ousted them from the NIT with a 59-57 NIT loss outside Pittsburgh in March, sparking Colonials fans to storm the small home court in celebration. In many ways that contest typified Kentuckys disappointing and inconsistent season witth a four-man group including big man Nerlens Noel -- whose season-ending knee injury hastened the downfall -- and guard Archie Noel. NFL Jerseys From China. Both are now gone to the NBA. Calipari hasnt watched the tape of that game, but the lingering memory of the loss stayed with veterans such as Jon Hood up until practice. As for this years eight-man crop of talented newcomers, they were trying to get over Tuesdays 78-74 loss to No. 2 Michigan State in Chicago. On both counts, the Wildcats succeeded quite easily. Kentucky faced a Robert Morris lineup featuring three returning starters from that game plus leading scorer Karvel Anderson, but the Colonials played nothing like last springs upset-minded squad. They started 1 of 10 from the field, and that first basket came on Aaron Tates jumper at the 11:36 mark. By then the Wildcats were up 17-4 and rolling toward a 44-20 halftime lead built on Aaron Harrisons hot start including 4-of-8 shooting and eight free throws. Everybody else was 9 of 22 as Kentucky shot just 43 per cent and committed 10 turnovers, none of which mattered because the Colonials were just 6 of 30 (20 per cent). What pleased Calipari was his teams 29-14 rebounding advantage including a 12-8 edge offensively. Cauley-Stein had 10 and Randle eight, just what the coach wanted to see. Then again, Kentucky had something to prove, none of which involved getting revenge against Robert Morris. Though the sting of Tuesdays loss subsided, the disappointment was something the Wildcats didnt want to feel again and thoroughly proved that against Robert Morris. ' ' '

CHARLOTTE, N. Air Max 90 Italia .C. -- Al Jefferson is happy he didnt make the All-Star game. Kemba Walker said it might be a huge blessing for the Charlotte Bobcats that the big man got a few days off to rest his 29-year-old legs for the stretch run, particularly with four games in five nights coming out of the break. "Im glad he didnt make it either," Walker said with a laugh. "Hes fresh now. And you dont have to make the All-Star game to be an All-Star. I know hes a great player and unguardable in the post." Jefferson dominated the Pistons for the third time this season Wednesday night, and Walker played his best game since returning from an ankle injury to lead the Bobcats to back-to-back wins over Detroit, 116-98. Jefferson scored 29 points, while Walker had 24 points and a career-high 16 assists. The win gives the Bobcats (25-30) a sweep of the season three-game series and a 2 1/2-game lead over the Pistons in the race for the eighth playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. "We had a bad reputation around this league for a long time, at least since Ive been here," Walker said. "Coach (Steve Clifford) has done a great job of changing the culture. We just want to win. We dont want to be those Bobcats where guys come in here and beat us up every night." The 6-foot-10, 289-pound Jefferson, who had 32 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in Tuesdays 108-96 win at Detroit, went 12 of 20 from the field and grabbed eight rebounds. He has scored at least 20 points in 16 of the last 18 games and barely missed his seventh 30-point game in the last 10 games. Jefferson said the Bobcats (25-30) are playing their best basketball of the season as they gear up for the stretch run and a shot at the franchises second career playoff appearance. "We have been a top 10 on defence all year," Jefferson said. "But now our offence is picking up and were learning how to play with each other." Frustration seems to be setting in for the Pistons, who have lost nine of 14. Brandon Jennings had 20 points for Detroit before being ejected from the game with 1:13 left after picking up his second technical foul for arguing a call. Jennings did not speak to the media after the game. "We definitely have to do a better job as a team of keeping our composure, especially in tough games like this," teammate Greg Monroe said. "Down the stretch these games mean a lot. You know, keeping a level head and playing hard, as a team is something were going to have to do." Coach John Loyer said its not too late to regroup. "Its two games," Loyer said. "Granted its two that we wanted to get, two we needed to get, but we didnt get them. You move on. You figure out your next plan and you just try to go win the next game." Josh McRoberts chipped in with 15 points for the Bobcats and Ramon Sessions had 10 points and 10 assists off the bench. But its Jefferson who is setting the tone. "We are just getting acclimated to Al," Walker said. "It took a little while but we know how to play with him and play off him. He makes all the right plays. All we have to do is get him the basketball in the right spots all we have to do is make shots." The Bobcats led by six at halftime, but opened the second half with a 17-3 tear to take a 70-50 lead behind 3-pointers from Walker, McRoberts and Gerald Henderson. The Pistons got within nine in the fourth quarter, but McRoberts buried a pair of 3-pointers and Walker hit a jumper to put the Bobcats safely ahead. Loyer stressed before the game the importance of starting fast, but Monroe and Josh Smith combined to miss their first 14 shots. Meanwhile the Bobcats got off to a fast start for the second straight night, hitting 7 of 9 shots to start the game and build a double-digit first quarter lead. Cody Zeller brought immediate energy and production off the bench for the Bobcats with a career-high three blocked shots. LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers manager Don Mattingly got on the plane after Josh Becketts no-hitter in Philadelphia and teased next-day

LOS ANGELES -- Dodgers manager Don Mattingly got on the plane after Josh Becketts no-hitter in Philadelphia and teased next-day starter Hyun-Jin Ryu. Greedy Williams Jersey . "You have to throw a perfect game to top Beckett," Mattingly told the South Korean left-hander. Ryu nearly did. He retired his first 21 batters before Todd Fraziers leadoff double in the eighth inning, and Los Angeles held on to beat the Cincinnati Reds 4-3 Monday. "For a minute there, I thought, Whew, he might do it," Mattingly said. The Reds hit only three balls out of the infield before Frazier doubled down the left-field line on an 0-1 pitch. That followed a three-run seventh by the Dodgers in which Ryu ran the bases and scored. Ryu came close to making the Dodgers the first team in major league history with consecutive no-hitters. Beckett won 6-0 on Sunday. "Of course it was in the back of my mind," Ryu said through a translator, explaining that he had never carried a no-hit bid that deep. "It wasnt until the seventh that I thought it could happen." Los Angeles pitchers tossed a club-record 17 straight hitless innings dating to Saturday, when Paul Maholm got it started against the Phillies. The only other team since 1974 to have a no-hitter through seven innings in back-to-back games was the Oakland Athletics on July 14-15, 2005, against Texas, according to STATS. "It gives us confidence as a ballclub that what weve been built for is to pitch," Mattingly said. "It tells me we can get on a roll." The only other club since 1974 to pitch 17 straight hitless innings was the Los Angeles Angels from May 1-3, 2012, including Jered Weavers no-hitter, STATS said. "I was more nervous tonight," Mattingly said. "Its a one-run game and one swing can change the whole game. It was fun to watch until the eighth." Cincinnati scored three times in the eighth, but right fielder Yasiel Puig made a key defensive play when he cut off Billy Hamiltons two-run double in the gap. The relay home held Skip Schumaker at third, and Kenley Jansen struck out Brandon Phillips with the bases loaded to preserve a 4-3 lead. Jansen also worked the ninth, retiring Devin Mesoraco with two on for his 15th save. Johnny Cueto (4-4) allowed four hits and four runs -- one earned -- in 6 1-3 innings. Ryu (5-2) was charged with three runs and three hits in 7 1-3 innings, improving to 6-0 in six starts against the Reds. He struck out seven and walked none while winning for the first time at Dodger Stadium this season. He was 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in three previous home starts. "He was great through seven," said backup catcher Drew Butera, who also caught Becketts game. "When guys see a pitcher a third time theyre a little more confident. He still made some good pitches; they just found some holes." Ryu got help from third baseman Justin Turner, who was playing for injured Juan Uribe. Turner made two diving stops in the hole against Zack Cozart his first two times up and threw him out both times. "It was a huge part," Ryu said. "He motivated me to focus more and try a little harder." Reds manager Bryan Price singled out Turner as a standout. "His 16-pitch at-bat really took a lot of the starch out of Johnny in the seventh and led to their big inning," Price said. Ryu left to a standing ovation not long after Frazier spoiled his bid for the first perfect game in the majors since Felix Hernandez accomplished the feat for Seattle against Tampa Bay on Aug. 15, 2012. Ryan Ludwick followed with a single, moving Frazier to third. He scored on Chris Heiseys sacrifice fly that left the Reds trailing 4-1. Brayan Pena singled, bringing Mattingly to the mound to remove Ryu. "He was throwing every pitch in any count and just kept us off balance really well," Heisey said. "He wasnt leaving anything over the middle of the plate. It was almost like he was setting up his fastball with his changeup and his curveball. He did a great job of mixing it up and not giving in." The Reds continued the rally after Brian Wilson replaced Ryu. Wilson gave up Hamiltons two-run double and walked Cozart before he was yanked and angrily slammed his glove twice against the dugout wall. Wilson paced back and forth several times, then began clapping as Jansen was introduced. Ryu faced a Reds lineup in which only one batter began the day batting over .264. That was Phillips, who came in hitting .281. The Reds played without slugger Joey Votto, who went on the disabled list Sunday with a strained left knee, and right fielder Jay Bruce, who came off the DL last Friday after left knee surgery. The Dodgers had a long inning in the seventh, which started with Turners 16-pitch walk. Ryu was later credited with his first RBI of the season. Cozart charged Ryus slow bouncer to shortstop with the infield playing in, hoping for a play at the plate. Instead, Cozart bobbled the ball and all the runners were safe. Turner scored to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. They extended it to 4-0 on Carl Crawfords two-run double that scored Ryu and Dee Gordon. Los Angeles led 1-0 in the third on a two-out fielding error by Frazier, who was making his second start at first base this season because of Vottos absence. NOTES: Sandy Koufax remains the only Dodgers pitcher with a perfect game, a 1-0 win over the Chicago Cubs at home on Sept. 9, 1965. ... Hall of Fame announcer Vin Scully missed the game because of a chest cold that was expected to keep him out of the booth Tuesday as well. ... The Dodgers will give away Ryu bobbleheads on Tuesday. The result absolved Marcus Stroman, brilliant once again, of a tough luck loss while at the same time robbing Max Scherzer, brilliant once again, of a deserved win.INGLEWOOD, Calif. -- Although Juan Manuel Marquez rarely acts his age in the ring, the 40-year-old welterweight turned back the clock to a specific time and place while he battered Mike Alvarado. Under the spotlights, the smoke and the deafening cheers, Marquez was once again the king of the Forum ring, returning in grand style to the refurbished arena for one more celebration of his brilliance and longevity. Marquez won a clear unanimous decision over Alvarado on Saturday night, dominating in the Forums first boxing card in 13 years. "I wanted to give the public here a gift," the four-division champion said afterward while a pro-Marquez crowd roared its approval. "A gift that dignifies the history of this event and the history of the Forum. I wanted to make this fight a gift for the fans." Marquez (56-7-1) dismantled Alvarado with 12 rounds of technical brilliance and vicious power, knocking down Alvarado in the eighth round and bouncing back from his own ninth-round knockdown to finish strong, even staggering Alvarado right before the final bell. Judges Max DeLuca and Julie Lederman scored it 117-109 for Marquez, and Robert Byrd favoured him 119-108. The Associated Press also scored it 117-109 for Marquez, giving him 10 of the 12 rounds. Marquez improved to 13-0 at the Forum, the former featherweight prospects regular home during the late 1990s. Although he once lived in Anaheim, Marquez hadnt fought in California since his last Forum bout in 1999, and thousands of his local fans turned out to support arguably the greatest Mexican fighter of his generation. The win sets up Marquez for a fifth fight with Manny Pacquiao in the fall in Macau, if Marquez wants it. His knockout victory over Pacquiao in December 2012 was the crowning moment of his career, but the money might compel him to add a fifth chapter to their rivalry. "Well relax first," Marquez said. "I dont know at the moment, but any decision we make will be good for me, good for my family and good for the Mexican fans." Alvarado (34-3) never got rolling in his second straight defeat, struggling to land any major shots beyond the right that sent Marquez to the canvas. "It was a bad experience being in there with a legend," Alvarado said. "I was warming up a little bit too much beffore I started getting off. Nick Chubb Browns Jersey. It was on me, but it was a great fight." Marquez, who made $1.4 million, showcased the roots of his success against Alvarado, whose apparent fear of Marquezs famed counterpunching left him waiting for Marquez to clobber him. Marquez outlanded Alvarado in 11 rounds, connecting with 44 per cent of his 627 punches. His power shots were even more devastating, landing 57 per cent to just 34 per cent for Alvarado. Marquez was in charge from the opening rounds. With Alvarado sitting back and waiting, Marquez pounded him to the body and pulped the left side of his face, opening a cut under his eye in the middle rounds. "Thats the kind of fighter I am. I like wars," Alvarado said. "Thats how he exploited me, but thats how I fight." Marquez knocked down Alvarado with a counter right hand in the final seconds of the eighth, sending Alvarado sliding under the ropes and nearly off the canvas into the photographers. Alvarado recovered after the bell, and he knocked down Marquez with a double right hand early in the ninth, stunning the crowd. But the shot only seemed to enrage Marquez, who landed big combinations for the rest of the round. Alvarados face was swollen with damage under both eyes in the final rounds. Alvarado wobbled Marquez again in the 11th round, but Marquez kept his feet and finished to a standing ovation. Marquez took a split-decision loss to Timothy Bradley last fall in his first fight since his victory over Pacquiao, but he was back on top in the heralded return of boxing to the Forum, the former home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Kings. The Forum was a boxing hotbed for 30 years, hosting Muhammad Alis second fight with Ken Norton along with dozens of fight nights promoted by the late Lakers owner Jerry Buss. "It was a very entertaining fight, and the thing that really thrills me is its a great fight to come back to the Forum with," Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said. "So many years ago, there were so many nights at the Forum when we had fights like this." Alvarado hadnt fought since Ruslan Provodnikov stopped him last fall. Alvarado moved away from his native Denver to the Los Angeles area in preparation for this bout, determined to avoid the pitfalls lurking in his hometown. ' ' '
