NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Tennessee Titans have placed running back Dexter McCluster on injured reserve with a knee injury, their 15th player put on the list this season. The Titans announced the move Thursday before playing in Jacksonville.McCluster hurt his knee last week in a 16-11 loss to the Jets and had been listed as being out against the Jaguars (2-12). But the Titans placed him on injured reserve Thursday and replaced him on the roster by promoting wide receiver Rico Richardson from the practice squad. With now 15 players on injured reserve, thats the second-highest number for this franchise since 1990 behind only 2012 when the Titans had 16 on injured reserve not counting any players later waived or removed after reaching injury settlements.___Online:AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Marcus Mariota Titans Jersey .9 million in legal fees after she unsuccessfully contested their divorce settlement, a judge has tentatively ruled. NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Brooklyn Nets say forward Andrei Kirilenko has opted to remain with the team for the second year of his contract. Kirilenko will make $3.3 million next season in the final year of a two-year, $6.5 million deal he signed last summer. The Brazilian guard was a sparkplug off the bench for those fast-paced teams, and the Suns could use a little jolt with starting guard Eric Bledsoe out with a sprained right knee. Ryan Succop Jersey . The effort paid off once they got back home. Mattias Ekholms first NHL goal proved to be the game winner as the Predators beat the San Jose Sharks 3-2 on Tuesday night for their first victory in four games. Each week, TSN.ca Fantasy Editor Scott Cullen and NFL Editors Ben Fisher and Mike Hetherington discuss three hot fantasy football topics. Is Devin Hesters special teams prowess and play-making ability enough to consider him a starting WR in fantasy moving forward? Cullen: I couldnt possibly be convinced to start a wide receiver whose primary value is from punt returns and running plays. The appeal of the Vikings Cordarrelle Patterson is limited, to some degree, because he doesnt have a huge track record as a receiver, but at least theres something from that aspect of the game. With Hester, he really has to have more games in which hes actively involved in the passing game, like he was Week One against New Orleans, before Id even be tempted. Fisher: The reservations are obvious. His 20 career return touchdowns have come in 124 career games. That averages out to one return TD per six games, or slightly less than a point per game off returns in fantasy. His special teams prowess doesnt come close to making him a viable fantasy starter and while the Falcons have said they plan on using the playmaker more in their offence – and I do love playmakers on offence – hes had the chance before with the Bears and blew it, so I cant endorse him this time around. Hetherington: Devin Hester looks better in the Falcons offence this year than he ever did playing wide receiver with the Bears. However, Hester is an unreliable pass catcher - as he proved with the Bears - and the fourth option in the Falcons offence at wide receiver (behind Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas). Hester will continue to make plays sporadically for the Falcons on both special teams and offence, but he remains far from a safe fantasy play. Hester is likely best left on the waiver wire or on your bench as an injury replacement. Should Julian Edelman be taken more seriously as a WR1? Cullen: Edelman could be a WR1 in PPR leagues, because hes the one Patriots wideout that Tom Brady seems to trust, but its hard to be a standard WR1 and not produce touchdowns. For that reason, Id feel much more comfortable with Edelman -- who has a good chance to have his second straight 1,000-yard receiving season -- in the WR2 slot on my roster. Fisher: After finishing last year as a WR2, Edelman is ranked in the Top 10 through three weeks this year. Even if he is just a borderline WR1, Im definitely taking him seriously. Hell never produce like a Calvin Johnson or Julio Jones – guys who score TDs on a consistent basis – but he should be good for around 80 receiving yards per game.dddddddddddd If thats his floor, he should be in the WR1 conversation. Hetherington: Edelman sits fifth in the league in receptions this season and eighth in yards, those numbers alone put him in the WR1 conversation. Yet unlike most WR1s, Edelman is not a red-zone threat and finished with just six touchdowns last year. I believe Edelman is a strong WR1 in PPR leagues already and could move to that level in basic leagues formats at some point this season, but for now he remains a top-end WR2. Rob Gronkowski remains Tom Bradys go-to red-zone target. Who is more likely to break out of their early season slump in Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers or Eddie Lacy? Cullen: I have to go with Rodgers because hes been one of the leagues best for the past five seasons and its not as though the talent around him is suddenly gone. With Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb and second-round pick Davante Adams, Rodgers has the weapons to get the ball downfield. It didnt work out in Week One against Seattle, but that wont be the only time this year that the Seahawks shut down a premier quarterback, so have faith that Rodgers can get it together. In Lacys case, he should get better too. He was productive after a slow start last year, so Id give him a little bit of leeway, especially considering he suffered a concussion in Week One. Fisher: It has to be Rodgers. I really like Lacy but Rodgers has the better track record. As unlikely as it seems, Lacy could conceivably be a one-year wonder while with Rodgers you know hell eventually start putting up numbers much closer to his career norms. While I believe both will bounce back, Im not sure how much when you consider how pedestrian the Packers have looked early in the season. Hetherington: This question is difficult because once one of them breaks out, the other shouldnt be far behind. If Lacy finds his stride, Rodgers will see more eight-man boxes and more deep ball openings. If Rodgers regains his usual form, Lacy will benefit from running against more nickel and dime looks with deep safeties. I believe Rodgers will break out first, starting this week against the banged-up defence of the Chicago Bears. Im also betting Lacy wont be far behind. TSN.ca presents its latest weekly power rankings for the 2013-14 Barclays Premier League season. Rankings were weighted evenly between separate lists made by TSN Radio host and soccer analyst Gareth Wheeler as well as TSN.cas soccer editors. 1. Liverpool (Last Week-3) Another exciting performance for the leagues best offensive team saw Liverpool grab a 4-0 victory over Tottenham at Anfield. After a Younes Kaboul second minute own goal, Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and Jordan Henderson did the damage to secure the win. 2. Manchester City (LW-2) David Silva fired Manchester City into the lead but they were not able to capitalize on any further chances and were forced to settle for a 1-1 draw against Arsenal at Emirates Stadium. 3. Chelsea (LW-1) John Terry was the difference, unfortunately it was thanks to the own goal that he scored to give Crystal Palace an advantage they would never surrender in a 1-0 victory over Chelsea. 4. Arsenal (LW-4) Mathieu Flaminis 53rd minute goal allowed Arsenal to earn a home point in a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. They had fallen behind after 18 minutes but worked back into the game. 5. Everton (LW-5) Kevin Mirallas and Steven Naismith added to a David Stockdale own goal to give Everton a 3-1 victory over Fulham. 6. Manchester United (LW-7) Wayne Rooney scored twice, including once from the penalty spot, adding to goals from Juan Mata and Javier Hernandez to lead the Champions from Manchester United to a 4-1 victory over Aston Villa. 7. Tottenham (LW-6) It was a tough day at Anfield for Tottenham, as they slumped to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liverpool. They went behind after two minutes thanks to an own goal and never recovered. 8. Southampton (LW- Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez twice were more than enough to lead Southampton to a 4-0 rout of Newcastle United. The Saints leapfrogged Newcastle with the victory. 9. Stoke City (LW-10) Peter Odemwingies 62nd minute marker was the difference as Stoke earned a 1-0 victory over Hull City at Britannia Stadium. The Potters continue their quest to finish in the top half of the table. 10. Newcastle United (LW-9) Alan Pardew was allowed back in a BPL stadium for the first time since his head butting incident with Hulls David Meyler but it wasnt enough to inspire his Newcastle side as they were buried 4-0 by Southampton. 11. West Ham United (LW-12) Andy Carroll and Mohamed Diame were both on target as West Ham claimed all three points in a 2-1 victory over Sunderland. 12. Swansea City (LW-14) Jonathan de Guzman fired home twice in eight minutes to help give Swansea City and easy victory over Norwich City 3-0 at Liberty Stadium. 13. Aston Villa (LW-11) Ashley Westwood gave Villa the lead after 13 minutes but they were second best following the goal as they conceded four on their way to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Manchester United. 14. Hull City (LW-13) David Meyler had the best chance for Hull but they werent able to find an equalizer as they dropped a 1-0 contest to Stoke City on the road. 15. Crystal Palace (LW-17) Upset of the week goes to Crystal Palace who had a huge impact on the title race with their 1-0 victory over Chelsea. John Terry was credited with the own goal that would prove to be the margin of victory for Palace. 16. Norwich City (LW-15) Surrendering two first half goals put the contest out of reach after 38 minutes as Norwich dropped a 3-0 contest to Swansea City. 17. West Bromwich Albion (LW-16) Morgan Amalfitano, Graham Dorrans and Thievy Bifouma all scored for West Brom as they picked up a point against Cardiff City in a game with a wild finish. The Baggies took a stoppage time lead, only to have the Welsh side equalize right at the death. 18. Sunderland (LW-1 Adam Johnsons 66th minute marker was not enough as Sunderland fell to West Ham United 2-1. 19. Cardiff City (LW-20) Mats Daehli scored for Cardiff City, five minutes into second half stoppage time, to rescue a point in a 3-3 draw with West Brom. Cardiff had conceded a go ahead goal that looked like a match winner just one minute earlier. 20. Fulham (LW-19) Fulham hung tough with Everton, equalizing after falling behind thanks to an own goal. In the end they didnt have enough as they were dropped 3-1. Dorial Green-Beckham Youth Jersey . Now tied for second in the league in shootout goals, the 24-year-old likes to see what the opposing goaltender has in store before he ultimately lands on a move. Ryan Succop Jersey . On Tuesday, they did it again. Roy Hibbert scored 22 points and Lance Stephenson fell just short of his fourth triple double this season, helping the Pacers hold off Torontos late charge for an 86-79 victory that allowed them to keep the NBAs best record. http://www.officialtitansprostore.com/Authentic_Jason_McCourty_Titans_Jersey/ . Redman began training camp expecting to compete for the starting job but struggled to stay healthy. He managed just 12 yards on 10 carries this season and saw his playing time decrease behind rookie LeVeon Bell and veterans Felix Jones and Jonathan Dwyer. In his first official practice round at Augusta National, Graham DeLaet got in a great cram session, playing 18 holes alongside Mike Weir. As they walked off the first tee, Weir opened his book of course knowledge to his fellow Canadian, telling him to ask him about anything and everything. For the next four hours, the two talked about the humps and bumps and hills and swales of the famed course, with DeLaet trying to drink in as much information as he could ahead of Thursdays opening round. "It was nice to have Mike kind of showing me around," said DeLaet. "He was giving me guidance on a few things that other players had given him, guys like Jack (Nicklaus) and Freddy (Couples) and stuff along the way. Thats one of the cool things out here that guys kind of pass things along. You go to a regular tournament and guys kind of keep things secretive. But for whatever reason, out here you just kind of pass the torch along. Any time I asked, he was more than happy to point out a few things along the way I wouldnt have known about." And few people know the course better than Mike Weir, who is making his 15th start here this week. However, the 2003 champion cautioned DeLaet that many of his references were specific for his game, not the long-bombing power style that the Weyburn, Sask., native plays. "I wasnt overloading him because our games are so different," said Weir, who thrilled fans by jarring in his tee shot on the 16th hole during the round. "He has more power, hhitting shorter irons into greens, while Im probably playing more for position.dddddddddddd. He can be more aggressive. I told him to be mindful of that. Im telling him out how I play it because Im back there hitting a four-iron." For DeLaet, the chance to play at Augusta National with Weir was more than an exercise in local knowledge, it was also the chance to play with one of his golfing idols. In 2007, when he teed it up in the Canadian Open for the first time, DeLaet managed to get his picture taken with the lefthanded star. Its a picture he keeps hanging on his wall at home to this day. "He was the guy I looked to when I was a kid," admitted DeLaet. "Now I call him my friend. Going around here, the respect he gets from the crowd – and rightfully so – is pretty cool." Now DeLaet has to take all the information and put it to use. His caddy, Julien Trudeau – who also raved about the details Weir passed on – said he and his boss will sit down and formulate a game plan for their opening round. That game plan will also try to take into account the butterflies that will undoubtedly be in DeLaets stomach when he gets set to start his first Masters. "I know that Im going to be nervous, Im nervous at the Byron Nelson tournament," he stated. "I do have a couple of majors under my belt now which is going to help a little bit but I dont know exactly what Im going to feel like on (the first tee) on Thursday but Im looking forward to it." cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '

Mike Babcock was a man with a plan on Saturday. The Canadian mens Olympic hockey team head coach arranged to take in some mens curling with a bunch of players before shuffling off to the nearby Bolshoy Ice Dome to scout the Russia-United States mens hockey game. Sometime in the evening he planned to assemble goalkeepers Roberto Luongo and Carey Price to inform them who would start in Canadas game against Finland on Sunday. Babcock would not reveal at his noon-hour (local time) press briefing whether it would be Luongo, the incumbent, or Price, who has been more consistent this season and played better in the games leading to the Olympic break. But the Canadian coach did remark that he arrived in Sochi with a plan — and nothing transpired in the wins over Norway and Austria to alter his blueprint. "Ive had lots of time,” he said. “We as a management team, and a coaching staff, we watched the NHL all year and we picked the two goalies that we think have got an opportunity. We brought [Mike Smith] to be in the role [of third goalie] and now well just go from here and watch. “We did the same thing last time. We had a plan. We understand and I said this a number of times you get one change in this tournament and you can still win." Like in Vancouver four years ago. Babcock chose veteran Martin Brodeur to be No. 1, but after he faltered in Canadas third game of the tournament — a 5-3 loss against the United States — Roberto Luongo moved in to win four games in a row to help Canada strike gold. Luongo or Price isnt the only entry on Babcocks checklist. There has been some clamour to find captain Sidney Crosby some new linemates. Chris Kunitz, who plays on the left side with Crosby in Pittsburgh, hasnt exhibited much in his first tour-of-duty with the Canadian Olympic team. "The first line in the last two games has generated a ton of scoring chances, point-blankers, they havent gone in,” Babcock said. “Do we worry that much about that or do we just know good players score in the end? "Lots of times in the Stanley Cup playoffs your team goes a ways and your best players have no points in the first round. Someone else picks them up, but by the time its all over theyre leading the thing in scoring. Its not about that, its about finding a way to be the best team." Babcock gave his players Saturday off to recharge. The 25 of them already played a combined 1,392 NHL games this season before landing in Sochi. The coaching staff put them through three long practices before the Olympic tournament opener against Austria on Thursday, so they needed a break. “A big part of it was the NHL schedule,” Babcock said. “You can just imagine the amount of meetings with their own NHL teams to prepare for each and every game. I just know from our team it seems like we played every single game. It was exhausting. “Then you travel over here. Then you jam in all the information and then we practiced them hard. We practiced for 56 minutes the day before our first game. That would never happen in the NHL. “Everybody needs to breathe.” Another adjustment has been the late starting times for Canada – 9 p.m. Sochi time. “We tried to turn 9 oclock into 7 oclock over here,” Babcock said. “But its 2:30 in the morning and youre sitting around every night. I saw [Canadian defenceman] Duncan Keith this morning and Dunc said he had to race over to McDonalds to get an egg mcmuffin. So he had to get up early. Priorities, right?” Leger Douzable Jersey . The right-handers previous win came over Kansas City on July 18, five days after he tossed a three-hitter in an 11-0 win against Houston. He was 0-3 in that span. "I felt good with all my pitches," said Buchholz, who threw just 98. "It doesnt always happen that way, but its fun when it does." Buchholz is the first Boston pitcher since Pedro Martinez in 2000 to have a pair of shutouts on three or fewer hits and no walks in the same season. Alex Cobb (9-7) gave up two runs and seven hits over 6 1-3 innings and took his first loss in two months. After losing to Pittsburgh on June 23, Cobb went 7-0 with a 2.14 ERA in 11 starts entering Sunday. "He had his A game going today and when hes on like that, its tough to scratch across runs," Cobb said about Buchholz. Tampa Bay (66-71), which has been shut out 16 times this season, has dropped 10 of 15. Xander Bogaerts singled leading off the third, went to third when Cobb was charged with an error for a wild pickoff try and scored to put Boston up 1-0 on Christian Vazquezs single. The Rays have at least one error in eight consecutive games for their longest streak since a team-record, 11-game stretch in 2004. After Mookie Betts had an RBI single in thhe fifth, David Ortiz made it 3-0 when he went the opposite way against a defensive shift and hit a run-scoring single through the vacated shortstop spot in the eighth.dddddddddddd Ortiz has reached base in 16 straight games. He has 152 RBIs against the Rays, the most of any opponent. TRAINERS ROOM Red Sox: 2B Dustin Pedroia was out of the lineup one day after leaving with concussion-like symptoms. Farrell said Pedroia is not expected to play Monday, but felt better Sunday and the team is hopeful the injury is a short-term issue. Rays: CF Desmond Jennings was out of the lineup for the third straight game due to left knee soreness. ... OF David DeJesus (broken left hand) expects to be activated from the disabled list Monday. CASTILLO COUNTDOWN Cuban outfielder Rusney Castillo, signed to a $72.5 million, seven-year contract last week, singled in his first professional at-bat and ended up 1 for 2 as the DH for the Gulf Coast League Red Sox in Game 2 of the GCL championship series. Expected to join the Red Sox in September, Castillo is scheduled to play three to five innings in centre field in the final game of the GCL series Monday. MYERS MISERY Struggling Rays OF Wil Myers was out of the lineup. The 2013 AL Rookie of the Year has just six hits in 42 at-bats, including 16 strikeouts, since returning from a broken right wrist that sidelined him for 70 games. UP NEXT Red Sox RHP Rubby De La Rosa (4-5) and Rays LHP Drew Smyly (9-10) are the scheduled starters for the finale of a four-game series Monday. Last Wednesday night at Baltimore, Smyly became the second Tampa Bay pitcher to allow two hits or fewer over seven or more innings in consecutive starts. cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Tampa Bay Rays put right-hander Alex Cobb on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a strained oblique in his left side, the second starter theyve lost to injury in a week. Cobb pitched seven innings in a 1-0 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday. Hes gone 15-1-3 innings without allowing a run. The Rays called up left-handed reliever Jeff Beliveau from Triple-A Durham to take his spot on the roster. Beliveau pitched 22 games in relief for the Cubs in 2012 and one for the Rays last season. Left-hander Erik Bedard was added to the roster on Sunday and will take Cobbs spot in the rotation for now. Left-hander Matt Moore went on the 15-day DL earlier in the week with a sore elbow. The Rays moved left-hander Cesar Ramos from the bullpen into the rotation to take his place -- Ramos started Sunday against Cincinnati. Ramos and Bedard competed for a spot in the rotation during spring training, so they were ready to be starters when the season began. Cobb felt some tightness in his side during the game on Saturday, but he was throwing so well that the Rays thought nothing of it. "Im not exactly sure when it happened," manager Joe Maddon said. "We thought it could have been dehydration." He was examined after the game and sent back to Florida for an MRI to determine the extent of the problem. The Rays put him on the disabled list right away because they knew hed miss one or two starts anyway. "If we do everything right, theres a chance we could have him back for that third start," Maddon said. Jason Terry Jersey . Guard Kyle Lowry eventually provided a jump start. Lowry had 24 points and 10 assists as the Raptors broke open a close game in the third quarter and held on for a 103-93 win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night. "He took the game over in the middle of the third quarter and willed us to a win," Raptors coach Dwane Casey said. Leading by six at halftime, the Atlantic Division leading Raptors pushed the lead to 17 as DeMar DeRozans driving layup started a 15-2 run midway through the third quarter. Lowry scored nine of the 15 points with a variety of shots, including a driving lay-up, a short fall-away jumper and a corner 3-pointer that made it 78-61 late in the period. He played the entire 12 minutes scored 14 points in the quarter. "I just was getting more looks, trying to attack a little more" said Lowry, who wasnt named an All-Star, but came in averaging 16.7 points 7.6 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game. "That first game out of the break is always tough and I didnt want to let that be an excuse for us to lose the game." Five Raptors joined Lowry in double figures, including Amir Johnson, who returned after missing two games with a sore right ankle. He scored 14 points. The Raptors, who have won three straight, also got 14 from Greivis Vasquez and DeRozan, who addressed the team before the game. "Just (told) everybody to be focused," DeRozan said. "Each and every single game matters from here on out especially if we want to do something special. We cant take any nights off. These thirty games are going to be big and we have to start tonight." The Raptors led by as many as 20 midway through the fourth quarter, before being held without a field goal for the final 7:36. The Wizards pulled to within 99-90 on a 3-pointer by Martell Webster with 2:04 left. Following a steal, Nenes layup made it 99-92. After John Wall collected a steal, Nene made one of two free throws with 1:32 left, but Lowry hit a pair of free throws, however, to make it 101-93 with 1:02 left. Toronto shot 57 per cent from the field (42-of-74) for the game, and finished with 60 points inside.dddddddddddd "We had trouble guarding off the dribble tonight," Wizards coach Randy Wittman said. "We defended pretty much a lot of their sets and then it gets down to seven, eight seconds on the shot clock and they break you down off the dribble. Thats how they get 60 points in the paint." Wall led the Wizards with 22 points, but went 0-for-7 from the field in the second half, and Marcin Gortat added 18 points and 11 rebounds. Washington has lost three straight and five of six. The Wizards are 0-3 against Toronto, and fell to 13-14 at home this season. "They stayed with it," Wittman said of the fourth quarter rally. "We got the floor spread, made some shots. Uncharacteristically, (we) turned some shots down tonight. I thought we werent as aggressive from our perimeters with Brad (Beal), Trevor (Ariza) and Martell. Beal played nearly 37 minutes and went 2-of-10 from the field, finishing with nine points, while Webster finished with seven and Ariza six. "I was just taking what they were giving me. I found my teammates open," Beal said. "We just didnt make shots and thats all it was. Did I have a few? Maybe. But Im the one whos taking them and feeling comfortable and I didnt feel comfortable taking them." The post All-Star Break opener paired the teams currently in third place (Toronto) and sixth in the Eastern Conference when play began. The score was tied after one, but reserves Tyler Hansbrough and Vasquez (four points each) manufactured an 8-2 Toronto run early in the second quarter. The Raptors scored 38 of their 55 first-half points in the paint, on 19-of-26 shooting. Wall, coming off a win in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest and 12 points in his first All-Star Game, kept the Wizards close. After scoring 10 points in the opening quarter, he added nine more in the second, hitting 9-of-12 field goals in the half. OTTAWA -- Henry Burris couldnt pass up the chance to help build a franchise from the ground up. The veteran quarterback signed a three-year contract with the expansion Ottawa Redblacks on Tuesday, just six days after getting released by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. "The opportunity to be a part of something fresh and new was something that my family and I just couldnt turn down," Burris said after being introduced to the media. "We had to be a part of this. This is an opportunity of a lifetime to leave your fingerprints, your footprint on a growing organization that will be around for years and years to come. "To know that we were a part of what started this, thats a great way as far as your legacy to leave a print." The move ends a whirlwind week for Burris, who was released by the Tiger-Cats after the club signed Zach Collaros to be their starting quarterback. The 38-year-old -- who was cut by Hamilton despite leading them to last seasons Grey Cup game -- should provide immediate stability and leadership for the expansion Redblacks as the CFL returns to the nations capital this season. "I really dont look at this as an expansion team," said Burris. "Last season in Hamilton we had the youngest team in the league on both sides of the ball and I was changing (diapers) day in and day out. I expect some of the same challenges (in Ottawa). "As weve seen in this league its not how you start, its how you finish and that gives you plenty of time to overcome your growing pains and to make your mistakes early on." Ottawa will be Burris fourth CFL team after stops with the Calgary Stampeders, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and the Tiger-Cats. He won two Grey Cups during his time with the Stampeders and was named the games MVP in 2008. Burris led the Tiger-Cats to last seasons Grey Cup, where Hamilton fell 45-23 to Saskatchewan. He was tops in the league with 4,925 passing yards in 2013 to go along with 24 touchdowns and 19 interceptions. In 15 CFL seasons, the native of Spiro, Oklahoma, ranks fourth all-time in regular-season passing yards (51,529), touchdown passes (324) and completions (3,672). After getting his walking papers from the Tiger-Cats, Burris was immediately approached by the Redblacks and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Both teams offered enticing opportunities, but apart from getting a chance to set the standard with a new team, Ottawa offered Burris something Winnipeg couldnt -- the opportunity to play in front of his family. Knowing this would be his final contract, Burris said he has a number of relatives in Springfield, Mass., who are already looking forward to making the trip to Ottawa to see him in action. "To be close enough to family where they can actually come and spend time with our family and get to know our children and also see this guy that used to be called little Henry now playing football and living out his dream playing professional football," he said. "We have family that live about five hours away from here and trust me theyre all excited because now were playing at home for them." The Redblacks currently have three quarterbacks under contract that started CFL games last season. Ottawa acquired 34-year-old Kevin Glenn and Thomas Demarco through the expansion draft, and also has Matt Faulkner on its roster. It was widely believed that Glenn, who split time under centre with the Stampeders in 2013 and finished with 2,710 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and seven interceptions, would be Ottawas starter. But any question as to who would lead the team into training camp was answered when Ottawa general manager Marcel Desjardins introduced Burris as the "new starting quarterback for the Redblacks." "Kevin is a great friend of mine and it was definitely tough making that decision, especially knowing that he was going to be here," said Burris. "But this is a business and for me this is my last go-around and Kevin hes got a lot more go-arounds left in him." Desjardins said the plan right now is to head to camp with all three quarterbacks. "For us to have three quarterbacks who have started and played a lot of games in this league is a benefit to our organization," said Desjardins. "Its not to say teams wont reach out to us and we wont reach out to teams, but when we decided to make this signing we decided that if we go to camp with these three guys were probably in as good a position as anybody in the league at quarterback." Desjardins added that he hopes the signing of Burris will show other players that the organization is serious about being a contender right from the start. The Redblacks are the CFLs third attempt at a franchise in Ottawa. The Rough Riders folded in 1996 after 120 years of operation. The expansion Renegades began play in 2002, but folded after just four seasons. Redblacks head coach Rick Campbell said he looks forward to having someone with Burris experience join the team. "When we step on the practice field for the first time were not going to feel like an expansion team having players like Henry and others who have won a lot of football games," said Campbell. "Thats going to help bring us on a lot faster." Burris will be 39 by the time the team takes to the field for the regular season, but Campbell said he sees no reason for concern. "I had to compete against him as a defensive co-ordinator this last year (with Calgary) and I thought physically he looked as good hes ever looked. His arm is live and hes running around and doing all those things. If you didnt know his age you wouldnt say that hes slowing down at all." It came through again Saturday night, helping the Bulls overcome a 40.7 per cent shooting night to hold the Atlanta Hawks to nearly 20 points below their season average in a 91-84 victory. Opponents are shooting 43 per cent against the Bulls. "We have a defensive system and we work on it a lot," Joakim Noah said. "Its crazy how much we work on it. We work on defence every day." The Hawks, who were averaging 103.2 points, shot 37.2 per cent and were 8 of 28 from 3-point range. "We have a core of guys that understand it and are really good at it," Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said about the defence. "We know if we defend and rebound and keep our turnovers down, were going to be in a position to win. Right now, when youre short-handed, thats really what you have to do. Its also what you have to do in every game, even when youre completely healthy." Mike Dunleavy scored 11 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter, and Luol Deng added 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Bulls, hitting two free throws with 8.8 seconds left to seal the win. Chicago led most of the way in winning for the fifth time in seven games. Paul Millsap and Jeff Teague scored 16 points apiece for the Hawks. A 3-point attempt by Kyle Korver that would have cut the Bulls lead to 84-82 with 4:18 left was overturned and ruled a shot clock violation upon review. Soon after, DeMarre Carroll was called for an offensive foul when the Hawks trailed 86-79. "That was a big swing, a big change in the game," Atlanta coach Mike Budenholzer said. Korver extended his NBA record of games with at least one 3-pointer made to 103 straight when he hit the first of his two 3-pointers with 9:59 left in the first quarter. Korver finished with eight points on 3-of-9 shooting. "I just have so much respect for those guys over there, how they continue to play hard every day and just grind and win games like tonight," Korver said. "They just find ways. Its not the prettiest basketball at times, but you have a lot of respect for them." The Hawks tied the game 67-all with 11:12 left on Mike Scotts free throw. It was the first time the Bulls hadnt led since there was 6:19 left in the first quarter.ddddddddddddBut Dunleavy answered with a 3-pointer, Noah scored on a putback and Jimmy Butler made a layup to put the Bulls ahead 74-69 with 8:41 remaining. Atlanta pulled to within one on Teagues layup with 5:38 left, but Dunleavy responded with a jumper and Taj Gibson scored on a dunk for an 84-79 lead. "Mike Dunleavy really had a heck of a second half," Budenholzer said. "Some of them were really well-contested, tough, difficult shots, and give him credit for making them." Carlos Boozer missed his first Bulls game of the season due to a sore right knee. MRI results on the knee were negative and the Bulls are hoping the injury isnt serious. Gibson started in his place. "The big thing is getting everyone back and healthy," Thibodeau said. "Hopefully, Carlos will be short term, which I believe he will be. This is the first time weve had the group relatively whole." Butler and D.J. Augustin each had 11 points, and Gibson and Noah had 10 points and 12 rebounds apiece. Scott scored 12 and Carroll had 10 for Atlanta. The Hawks pulled within one twice late in the third quarter but were unable to pull ahead. The Bulls led 67-64 after three quarters. "It was a close game and we just couldnt find a way," Budenholzer said. "I think we have to be a little smarter down the stretch. We have to compete every possession, every rebound." Deng made a half-court shot at the second-quarter buzzer to give the Bulls a 50-45 lead at the break. Korver had made a 3-pointer with 2.9 seconds left to cut the Bulls lead to 47-45 after they were ahead by as many as 10. The Bulls led 26-18 after the first quarter. Atlanta had scored at least 100 points in 10 of 11 games. The Hawks were playing the second game of a back-to-back. NOTES: Hawks guard John Jenkins (low back pain) missed his sixth straight game. He is expected to also miss the Hawks game Monday against Brooklyn. . The New York Rangers have agreed to a six-year, $33 million contract extension with defenceman Dan Girardi. Girardi, 29, has appeared in 60 games with the Rangers this season, scoring four goals and 13 assists. He is currently in the final year of a four-year, $13.3 million contract and was slated to become an unrestricted free-agent on July 1. The extension carries an average annual value of $5.5 million. It includes a full no-movement clause in the first three years of the deal with a modified no-trade clause in the final three. Utilizing a feature of the NHLs new collective bargaining agreement, Girardis no-movement clause kicks in immediately, despite the extension not taking effect until 2014-15. Girardi originally went undrafted and has played his entire eight-year NHL career with the Rangers. In 548 career games, he has scored 35 goals and 136 assists. Thats about the only thing that went quickly. On a gorgeous afternoon at Innisbrook, pace of play on the PGA Tour reared its ugly head again. Garrigus had to settle for a 1-under 70 when he missed short par putts on the 12th and 18th holes, giving him a one-shot lead over Kevin Na, who laboured and fidgeted his way around the Copperhead course to a 68. The final group turned into a threesome for most of the back nine -- Garrigus, Kevin Na and a rules official with his hand on a stopwatch. Even though they finished in just under four hours, they were as many as two holes behind the group ahead of them. Both players were given a bad time -- a first for Garrigus, but not for Na -- and one more would have meant a one-shot penalty. "Im not used to being put on the clock," said Garrigus, one of the fastest players in golf. "Thats the first time in nine years -- actually the first time in 17 years as a professional -- Ive ever got a bad time on the golf course. I started laughing." They were on the clock when Garrigus had a nasty lie in the rough on the side of the hill on the par-5 14th. He walked some 30 yards up to the green to study his shot, and by the time he walked back to hit it, he was went beyond his allotted 40 seconds. Na was given a bad time on the par-3 13th hole when he was first to play. "Over water, tough to judge the wind and corner pin is obviously brutal, and probably just took some extra time because it was probably a hard golf shot," Na said. "Unfortunately, I was past the time. I know how to play. I dont know what people were saying, but I dont feel like I should be criticized for my play today because Im the first one to admit if I play slow. But I really didnt feel like I played slow today." A traffic jam is likely for the final round. Garrigus was at 8-under 205, and the final seven holes brought several players back into the mix -- most of them needing a win to get into the Masters. David Hearn (70) of Brantford, Ont., is tied for 11th at 2-under par, Graham DeLaet (71) of Weyburn, Sask., and Calgarys Stephen Ames (72) were tied at 38th at 1 over. John Senden of Australia made a 30-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole to cap off a 64, moving up 32 spots on the leaderboard into third place, just two shots behind. Justin Rose, at No. 7 the highest-ranked player in the field, made bogey from a wild tee shot on the 18th for a 69 and was three shots behind. Retief Goosen finisshed his bogey-free 64 some 2 1/2 hours before the leaders began the third round.ddddddddddddHe made the cut on the number, and suddenly finds himself within four shots of the lead on a course where he has won before. Goosen was at 4-under 209, along with Scott Langley (69) and Charley Hoffman (67). Luke Donald, a winner at Innisbrook two years ago, was in the group five shots behind. Garrigus did plenty right. He hit two balls off the first tee, only to find his original tee shot had banged off a tree and back into play. He converted that into a birdie, made a 12-foot birdie on the next hole and stretched his lead to four shots with a nifty flop shot from the pine straw that set up a birdie on the par-5 fifth. That was his last birdie. Na remarkably has made only one bogey through 54 holes on a Copperhead course with plenty of bite. He turned a potential bogey into birdie when he chipped in from deep rough on the par-3 15th hole. The pressure came more from the clock held by rules official Gary Young. Na said he was discussing the line of his 15-foot birdie putt on the par-3 17th with caddie Kenny Harms when he wanted one last look. "I was about to back off. Kenny goes, You better go," Na said. "I kind of peaked out in the fairway and theres Gary on the cart with a little clock." Even so, Na said he didnt feel a need to apologize. Pat Perez, playing in the group ahead of them, hit a tee shot into the vegetation on the third hole. Taking a penalty drop would leave him in a palmetto bush, so he opted to go back to the tee. Perez was given a cart ride to the tee and back to his next ball in play, and then he was gone. Perez is one of the fastest players. "They took off," Garrigus said. "When Pat is playing bad, he takes four seconds to hit a shot." Na said Garrigus told him after the round that he would tell him if he were playing slow. He said other players have told him he has picked up the pace. He said he has improved "a ton" since The Players Championship in 2012, when he was changing his swing and had trouble taking the club back -- or changing his mind at the top and purposely missing the ball so he could start over. "Its not fair for me because I already have that stamp on me," Na said. He would much rather me known as a guy with multiple wins on the PGA Tour, and he has a chance to get his second title on Sunday. So does Garrigus, whose only other win was at Disney in 2010. At stake for both is a spot in the Masters. Of the seven players separated by four shots going into the final round, Rose is the only one eligible for the first major of the year. cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '

TSN.cas NHL Play of the Year showdown continues today with two titans of the Battle of Pennsylvania. The 13th match-up of the Round of 32 sees Claude Giroux go no-look, while Evgeni Malkin does the hard work to set up a gift for a teammate. Its not just that Giroux goes no-look, its that its one of the greatest blind shots youre likely to see. Picking a wild point shot rebound off the end boards, Giroux picks up the disc and gets sent to the ice by David Savard. While falling, though, he unleashes one heck of a shot. Falling, he lifts a backhander behind his back towards the net... and roofs it. Its not even like Curtis McElhinney doesnt expect the shot, Giroux just beats him high glove without even looking. Malkin counters one great shot with a 200-foot effort. Winding up from behind his own net, Malkin breaks out and proceeds to start dancing through the entire Montreal Canadiens team. There is actually only one skater on the ice that Malkin doesnt skate through or around and hes just a spectator. By the time Raphael Diaz and Francis Bouillon finally haul him down, hes shoveled a pass cross-crease to James Neal, who jukes once and slides the puck past Carey Price. He was later one of three prospects traded to the Marlins for closer Robb Nen, who went on to save 206 games over the next five years before calling it a career with 314 total saves. http://www.footballsteelersgears.com/authentic-senquez-golson-steelers-jersey/ . DeRozan scored 28 of his 37 points in the second half to tie his career high, but in the end, the lone strong performance wasnt enough to lift an otherwise lacklustre Raptors team in a 96-80 loss to the Chicago Bulls. Cameron Heyward Jersey . LOUIS -- The Pittsburgh Pirates have placed outfielder Starling Marte on the bereavement list and slotted Francisco Lirianos return to the rotation for Sunday, the last game before the All-Star break.BUFFALO, N.Y. - Tyler Bozak had some good and some bad, but most importantly he was on the ice in a game for the Toronto Maple Leafs.Bozak had a goal, two assists and a costly turnover in his pre-season debut as the Leafs beat the Buffalo Sabres 6-4 Friday night at First Niagara Center. The first-line centre played 18:23 and showed no ill effects from a lower-body injury that forced him to miss the start of training camp.It was both ways, I guess: Good at times and bad at times, Bozak said of his game. I obviously hadnt played a scrimmage or a game since last year, so it was nice to get out there. Things went well right off the bat, which helped my confidence. Obviously a couple mistakes and a four-minute shift, so kind of got everything out there today. While Bozak and right-winger David Clarkson got on the ice in exhibition action for the first time, defenceman Henrik Tallinder left the game with a dislocated left shoulder. Coach Randy Carlyle didnt know how long Tallinder a€” whos in training camp on a professional tryout a€” might be out.A lot of people that play this game have history that if it pops out they pop it back in and it settles down, Carlyle said.Bozak and Clarkson were injured as part of informal pre-training camp workouts. The two forwards began practising with the Leafs earlier this week before finally getting into a game in Buffalo.Bozak set up goals by Roman Polak and captain Dion Phaneuf and scored his own on a pretty give-and-go with winger Josh Leivo. The top line of Leivo, Bozak and Joffrey Lupul got caught in their own end for a shift of almost three minutes.Got tired after that long shift, Bozak said. You can do whatever you can, but once you get in a game its completely different. Getting back into game shape will be something that I got to do the next couple games, but overall felt pretty good.Clarkson scored on a tip in front, and Leo Komarov and Leivo each had a goal for the Leafs on a night Sabres goaltender Michal Neuvirth struggled. Clarksons right eye was swollen shut after the game following a third-period fight with Cody McCormick.Carlyle said Clarkson did not return after that fight for precautionary reasons and did not sound concerned about his long-term health.Phaneuf fought Drew Stafford in the first period. He had an ice pack on his right hand after, however the defenceman saiid his hand was fine.dddddddddddd.In his first full game of the pre-season, goaltender James Reimer allowed two goals to Chris Stewart and one each to Jake McCabe and McCormick. Reimer finished with 32 saves. As Toronto looks for depth on the blue-line, Tallinders chances of making the team were dealt a serious blow when he went shoulder-first into the boards on a hit from former Sabres teammate Mike Weber, who also landed on top of him. He did not return. If the 35-year-old Tallinder misses any significant time and cant earn a roster spot, Toronto would likely look to someone like Stuart Percy or Korbinian Holzer to be the seventh defenceman. The uncertain status of right-handed Stephane Robidas (broken leg in last years playoffs) could also throw off the Leafs plans.Percy was particularly good Friday night, and the 2011 first-round pick could be in line to earn a job. Carlyle said the 21-year-old looks like a different, stronger player than a year ago.You can tell hes put some time and effort in in changing his body makeup and strength factor, Carlyle said. I still think that, the speed of the game and his foot speed is going to be something hes going to have to continue to improve on, but you cant take away his puck moving ability and his hockey sense.Polak, a stay-at-home defenceman the Leafs got from the St. Louis Blues, finished with a goal and two assists. Its second game in Toronto, I just want to show myself, what I can do, too and just kind of represent my name, Polak said.Leivo also had a three-point night and earned praise from Carlyle for being strong around the puck and on the walls and for having a knack for scoring. He did a lot of good things, Carlyle said. Those are instances when he shows his skill and shows his strength along the wall with the puck. If he can continue to do that hes going to make our decisions that much more difficult.Notes a€” The Leafs put forwards Trevor Smith and Spencer Abbott and defenceman Kevin Marshall on waivers on Friday with the intention of sending them to camp with the AHLs Toronto Marlies. ... Frederik Gauthier hasnt played this pre-season because of a cracked rib, according to Carlyle. Gauthier was the Leafs first-round pick in 2013. ... With the win, the Leafs improved to 3-1-1 in exhibition action. They host the Sabres at Air Canada Centre on Sunday. cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '

MADRID, Spain -- Real Madrid star Gareth Bale is injured again and has been ruled out of coach Carlo Ancelottis squad to face FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Wednesday. In a statement late Tuesday, Madrid said Bale has not trained with his teammates "because of a sore left hamstring" and that he would undergo tests on Wednesday. Bale, the worlds most expensive footballer, cost Madrid 100 million euros ($132 million). Dwight Howard had 29 points and 18 rebounds to lead Orlando to a 99-94 win over the Bulls on Thursday, snapping Chicagos eight-game winning streak.MONTREAL – Professional athletes tend to best remember the teams with which they win a championship. A bond is forged for life. A group gets together, slogs through the adversity of a long season, plays its best when the games matter most and shares the glory of its achievement. The 1994 Montreal Expos didnt win the World Series. Nobody did. A players strike saw to that. But theres this lingering feeling among the nearly two-dozen players and coaches who gathered to celebrate their special team that they would have been champions, that the 1994 Expos would have secured a third-consecutive world championship for a Canadian-based team. “I think thats the one thing that sticks around too much,” said Cliff Floyd. “If youd played it out, youd feel better about it. If we lost you still feel better about going and getting the opportunity to play. When you dont play it out you wonder what if wed gotten the opportunity to play in the playoffs.” “We built a special bond in 1994,” said Marquis Grissom, a two-time All-Star in a 17-year career. “It didnt just start in 94, it started in 1990, in 1989-1990 when we were all in spring training trying to make the team. It just festered all the way up to 94 to where we all came together for one common cause and that was to win a World Series. We didnt expect to do anything less.” Championship baseball teams need a lot to go right. They must do the obvious, like outpitching and outhitting and outscoring their opponents on more nights than not. Emerging clubs - that Expos team was still so young - must also experience breakthrough moments. Floyd, a rookie that year who would go on to play 17 seasons in the big leagues and make an All-Star Game, provided such a moment. It was June 27. The Expos were hosting the then-National League East-leading Braves. Floyd blew open a close game with a two-out, three-run home run in the seventh inning off of future first-ballot Hall-of-Famer Greg Maddux. Montreal won the game and closed to within a game-and-a-half of the division lead. By the time the strike started a month and a half later, the Expos led the Braves by six games in the standings. “I think about that a lot,” said Floyd. “I think about when I walked up to the plate that day. I think about what was on my mind that day. I just told myself get a good pitch to hit. The type of team we had then, the expectations and what I did in the minor leagues, they were showcased in 94 but I just said if I can just help us go out and win some games, you dont know what games or how important theyre going to be when you do it but that was one of the biggest moments of my life was for me to get that home run.” Felipe Alou pulled the strings from the dugout. Hell be 79 in May and he speaks of the 1994 team like a proud father. He is, in a literal seense, because his son, Moises, was among the clubs many young stars.dddddddddddd Charged with cultivating that entire unit, two decades later Alou marveled at the talent the franchise had assembled. “The 1994 club was hard to compare with anybody because we had three closers, we had incredible starting pitching and we had speed, power and defence,” he said. “Not too many teams can say that and they were young. They were getting better.” Surely the manager deserves some credit? “Anytime you have a team like that youre a good coach,” said Alou. Much has been theorized about the breakup of the team in the aftermath of the strike. Larry Walker, a could-be Hall-of-Famer whos yet to be voted in and would like an Expos cap on his plaque if the day comes, didnt want to leave. He signed with Colorado when the strike ended and embarked on a tremendous 10-season run with the Rockies before wrapping up his career in St. Louis. “There wasnt a contract on the table for a lot of us and the game kind of dictates that and you move on,” said Walker. “Its the nature of the game. I didnt leave because I hated anybody or hated the city or anything crazy like that. I know theres been some dumb stuff written about it from what Ive been told but I was just another ballplayer trying to win. We had a winning franchise that got broken up.” Grissom insists a group of top-end players went to ownership to try to persuade the group to keep the young core together. “We took it upon ourselves to try to go upstairs and tell them, hey, well take less money to stay together,” said Grissom. “We dont know how much less that would have been but, really, the strike took effect on us and there wasnt anything we could do. Even if wed taken less money I still dont think we would have stayed here.” There are more gray hairs. In some cases, the bellies are bigger. But the memories came flooding back, the reunion a chance to ask the “what if?” question one more time. If this weekend accomplishes nothing else, its reminded the powers of Major League Baseball that Montreal is a baseball town. Right now theres no ownership and no stadium for the franchise pipe dream but at least one man is hoping that the energy that still surrounds the 1994 Expos will contribute to the momentum to bring a team back to Montreal. “I believe that if we ever get a team back here it will be because of the 1994 team,” said Alou. “That is what the people in these communities, Montreal, Laval, the cities around here, they are holding on to the 1994 club. They believe that this memory, they talk about it. We are here, the 1994 team. Its not the 1993 or the 1995, its the 1994. The people hope and I hope that that club that was so good will help bring baseball back to this city.” cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Mike Zimmer and Teddy Bridgewater will be forever linked with the Minnesota Vikings, regardless of how the team fares over the rest of their time together. This is the state of the NFL. For all the excess credit or blame that continually falls on the head coach and the quarterback, success or failure in this league is unavoidably linked to these two people.Despite the losing record produced by their first season with the Vikings (7-9), Zimmer and Bridgewater not only kept their reputation in tact but gave reasons to believe theyll be together in Minnesota for a while.Honestly, I never felt overwhelmed, from the day I walked in, Zimmer said Tuesday at his final news conference of 2014.He added: Are there some things that I would do differently? Sure. Did I make some mistakes? Sure. But I felt like each and every day I came into work that I gave this team, the fans and the organization the very best that I could give them. And I believe in my head that Ill be even better next year with everything that I do.Over the past 10 offseasons, the Vikings have changed coaches three times and searched for a quarterback a lot more than that. With Mike McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers again on top of the NFC North with Green Bay, theres a long way to go for Minnesota to reach the conferences elite. Finally, though, the Vikings have entered a winter without any questions about wholl be running the team or wholl be taking the snaps. The Vikings finished 7-9, but their last five losses were by a combined 16 points. Bridgewater threw 12 interceptions against 14 touchdown passes, but he was at his best this month and posted a 64.4 completion rate that was the third-best rookie-year mark in NFL history. Bridgewater also gained the respect of teammates on both sides of the ball with a balance of humility and confidence. The guys around here, theyve allowed me to be more assertive with them. We have a great group of men here that they will take leadership, whether its from the coaching staff or from the youngest player on the team, Bridgewater said. Here are some other key themes to know about the Vikings as they enter the offseasonETERSON PREFERENCERunning back Adrian Petersons absence from all but one game, the fallout from the child-abuse case that came up in Texas, was a major hurdle both Zimmer and Bridgewater had to overcome this year. The Matt Asiata-Jerick McKinnon tandem, though productive at times, likely wont be enough. Given Petersons age, contract and public image, his return in 2015 is hard to fathom. Hes suspended by NFL through at least April 15, and as Zimmer indicated Tuesday the Vikings prefer to settle his status as soon as possible so they can plan accordingly in free agency and the draft. But Zimmer said he would welcome Peterson back, if it works out that way and he gets his life in order.GREENWAY GONE?The Vikings were one of the youngest teams in the league this season, but Peterson isnt the only highly paid veteran who could be cut before his contract expires. Linebacker Chad Greenway, who missed three games with broken ribs and another because of a knee injury, said hed love to return for a 10th year but realizes the nature of the NFL for players over 30.Zimmer said he believes Greenway is still good enough to start at the weak side position, but to do so hed probably have to take another pay cut.It wont simply come down to money or business or anything. Itll come down to whats best for the family, Greenway said, hinting hed rather stay than sign elsewhere for a better deal.Fullback Jerome Felton and left guard Charlie Johnson are two other key players who could be let go for cap relief. Middle linebacker Jasper Brinkley will be a free agent.BRIDGEWATERS BUDDYBridgewater plans to return to the Miami area this winter and gather the wide receivers together at some point to work out and continue to develop their chemistry. He also revealed that hes relied on former Vikings quarterback Donovan McNabb for advice.Hes a guy who had success in this league, and hes someone that I look toward as a mentor or for guidance, Bridgewater said.PATTERSON PLANOne of the most disappointing players was wide receiver Cordarelle Patterson, who scored only two touchdowns, none by kickoff return, and vanished from the offence down the stretch as Charles Johnson and Adam Thielen surpassed him. Zimmer said he has a mentor he declined to name in mind for Patterson.I think this will be good for him, and hopefully hell follow through and get to where he needs to get to, Zimmer said.KALIL CONFIDENCELeft tackle Matt Kalil also had a letdown year, but his blocking was better over the last several weeks. He said hell have his knee examined again. After surgery last off-season, it didnt feel right most of the year. But Kalil said hes confident in a bounce-back 2015.I know what Ive got to do. I dont know if this sounds bad or not, but Im not worried about it, Kalil said.___AP NFL websites: http://www.pro32.ap.org and http://www.twitter.com/AP_NFL Nike Roshe One Flyknit Pas Cher . "What Im hoping to accomplish, not only with that line, with each line, is production, just positive production and hope we can move forward," Noel said after practice. The move was telegraphed Thursday when Byfuglien wore a forwards jersey during practice, but with a couple of players out with the flu it could be explained away and Noel wouldnt confirm the change. Nike Roshe One Flyknit Noir . Anthony Duclair scored once and set up three others for the Remparts (20-11-7), who blew a 4-2 lead in the third period, while Olivier Archambault had a pair of goals. Lucas says deputies are still trying to figure out exactly what led to the shhooting.dddddddddddd But it appears Lafayette got into an argument with 21-year-old Tyrone Moore Jr. early Saturday morning outside the Lake House Club south of Charleston. NEW YORK -- The head of the NFL players association says the union wants to hold the league and its teams accountable for confidential information about draft prospects being leaked. Combine drug test results and medical information about players have been reported by various media outlets leading up to the draft, which starts Thursday night in New York. Incoming players are not represented by the union until they are drafted. Still, NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith says the union is concerned the league is not properly treating its future members. Smith told a small gathering of reporters on Wednesday: "We are reviewing the potential actions that the union can take on behalf of those players." He says the union is looking into "civil, regulatory and potentially CBA remedies that we could pursue." Rodney Stuckey White Jersey . The Oilers fan base was expecting the teams first playoff berth since the 2005-2006 season while the Flames were entering a franchise rebuild after trading cornerstone Jarome Iginla at the trade deadline the previous season and losing long-time starting goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff to retirement.SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Spurs knew the Philadelphia 76ers were coming in on a long losing streak. They had no intentions of taking it easy on them. Austin Daye had 22 points and Tim Duncan added 19 as the Spurs earned their 14th straight win with a 113-91 victory Monday night that sent the 76ers to their 25th consecutive loss. Philadelphia will face Houston on Thursday with the dubious distinction of being a loss shy of tying the NBA record for consecutive losses set by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010-11. Before the game, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said he felt terrible for former assistant Brett Brown, now the 76ers coach. But he added that he did not feel sorry for "one of my best friends," because pity would upset his former protégé. "Obviously, its a rough season for them," Duncan said. "Its a rebuilding season for them. (Brown) knows that, they know that. They have a lot of young guys. Hes just trying to get the system in place that has them playing the way he wants them playing. Its a process. He knows that." Kawhi Leonard and Patty Mills scored 15 points each and Cory Joseph added 12 for San Antonio, which maintained the leagues best record at 54-16. The Spurs did not play starters Tony Parker, Tiago Splitter and Danny Green, but did not need them against the lowly 76ers. Thaddeus Young and Michael Carter-Williams each scored 19 points, Byron Mullens added 15 and Elliot Williams had 14 for Philadelphia (15-56). Daye, who was averaging 2.3 minutes while playing in only four games since being acquired from Toronto on Feb. 20, finished 6-for-10 on 3-pointers and had six rebounds in 29 minutes. It was familiar to Brown, who served as an assistant under Popovich for seven seasons. "Hes lucky," Brown said, "and Ive seen this over so many years — people can come into that system and shine. This system creates opportunities for everybody, and he took advantage of those. The attention you have to give others and the movement that they have in their structure allowed him to get freed up a lot. "He reaped the benefit of playing in that system." The Sixers kept pace early against the Spurs, with Carter-Williams fearlessly driving into the paint for a series of short jumpers and Hollis Thompson hitting a pair of 3s. Popovich called timeout with 3:44 left in the first quarter after Williams dunked over Duncan to tie it at 19. Philadelphias early success awoke the Spurs and brought out the best in Daye. His athleticism and energy were just what San Antonio needed after a listless sttart.dddddddddddd "Hes a skilled guy," Popovich said. "Obviously he can shoot it. But hes also a good passer. He knows how to play the game. It was good to be able to get him some time tonight." San Antonio went on a 26-5 spurt bridging the first and second quarters, capped by a 19-0 run. Daye first ran down Carter-Williams, swatting his layup attempt from behind, leading to Leonards driving layup for a 23-19 lead with 3 minutes left in the opening quarter. Mullens 3-pointer snapped a 6 1/2-minute drought, but the Spurs were up 45-27 with 6:35 left in the first half. Daye then stole an outlet pass on the run, driving directly at a backpedalling Mullens on a 3-on-1 break. Daye faked a behind-the-back pass to Duncan on the left and dished to Joseph on the right, who fed an open Duncan for a layup and a 47-27 lead. "He got an opportunity," Duncan said. "He really stepped up and shot the ball really well. The boy is really long. He made some great plays defensively (and) rebounded the ball. He did a lot of good things out there." The Spurs started Ginobili to give the team another facilitator on the court with Parker out. Ginobili did that and more, scoring seven points and grabbing two rebounds in eight minutes. He drove to the basket for a series of reverse layups, but was blocked by the rim on a one-handed dunk attempt in starting 2 for 3 from the field. San Antonio finished with 31 assists while shooting 56 per cent from the field. "Its tough," Carter-Williams said. "They move the ball really well with the extra pass. They try to move the ball and almost tire you out on defence. You got to be able to rotate and play throughout the shot clock." The victory did little to satiate the Spurs or Popovich, who are hoping to return to the NBA Finals after falling to Miami last season in a heartbreaking seven-game series. "Were playing well through this stretch and winning some games," Duncan said. "Pop is still not satisfied, obviously, with what were doing. We want to stay healthy. We want to stay moving in the right direction. "Hopefully we can ride this into the playoffs and feel good going into the playoffs." NOTES: San Antonios Big Three of Duncan, Ginobili and Parker have played for 39 seasons, which is seven years more experience than the entire Philadelphia roster combined. The 76ers have six rookies on this years roster. ... Former Spurs F Malik Rose, a Philadelphia native, now serves as an analyst for 76ers television. He filled in for the Spurs in the same capacity before joining Philadelphias broadcast team. cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '

With elite wrestling skills and a sledgehammer for a left hand, Johny (Bigg Rigg) Hendricks represents a real threat to UFC champion Georges St-Pierre. "Ive never fought anybody like him. But hes never fought anybody like me," St. Pierre told The Canadian Press. "So were both unique. Were going to clash and see whos the best man." For those who have followed the career of the MMA star from Montreal, its a familiar refrain. As is St-Pierres comment that while the No. 1 contender poses a lot of problems, the champion has the solution. "Im ready. Im very well-prepared. Im at my best. Im the best I can be," said St-Pierre. The world will find out Nov. 16 in Las Vegas when St-Pierre (24-2) meets Hendricks (15-1) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. It will mark St-Pierres 10th title defence. He lost the first, knocked out by Matt (The Terror) Serra at UFC 69 in April 2007, but reclaimed his championship belt by beating Serra two years later at UFC 83. Since then, he has defeated Jon Fitch, B.J. (The Prodigy) Penn, Thiago (Pitbull) Alves, Dan (The Outlaw) Hardy, Josh Koscheck, Jake Shields, Carlos (Natural Born Killer) Condit and Nick Diaz. St-Pierre has won 11 straight since that 2009 loss to Serra and currently ranks second in the UFCs pound-for-pound rankings, behind only light-heavyweight champion Jon (Bones) Jones. That record and reputation has made GSP a 2-1 favourite to beat Hendricks, odds more respectful of the challenger than in many of the Canadians previous fights. A southpaw, the 30-year-old Hendricks has won six straight since dropping a decision to Rick (The Horror) Story in December 2010. And three of those wins (T.J.Waldburger, Jon Fitch and Martin Kampmann) were emphatic first-round knockouts. A former NCAA champion wrestler at Oklahoma State, Hendricks registered just three takedowns in the five fights after Story. With three of those fights being short, he did not need to dig deep into his arsenal. But last time out, he landed 12 of 15 takedowns in neutralizing the striking game of Condit. According to FightMetric, St-Pierres numbers are much better than Hendricks. The champion is accurate on a UFC-record 76 per cent of his takedowns (compared to 50 per cent for Hendricks) and is successful defending them 86 per cent of the time (63 per cent for Hendricks). St-Pierres significant striking accuracy rate is 55 per cent (50 for Hendricks) while his striking defence rate is 75 per cent (58 for Hendricks). Both men have beaten Josh Koscheck, a fighter who has also has good wrestling and power in his hands. Hendricks won a decision in May 2012 while St-Pierre earned decisions in August 2007 and December 2010. "They are similar but different," said St-Pierre. "He (Hendricks) is a leftie, he has a different style and different game. Its going to be a good fight. I look forward to it." Last time out against Koscheck, St-Pierre literally broke his face with a punishing jab and landed four of nine takedown attempts. St-Pierre landed 110 significant strikes to just 16 for Koscheck. The champion has prepared for Hendricks in his native Montreal. It has gone smoothly although his camp was forced to deny reports that he might be thinking of retirement after the fight. Trainer Firas Zahabi said his comments were misconstrued. Asked about the issue, the 32-year-old St-Pierre said he is planning his next fight rather than his retirement. "I always take it one fight at a time but Im happy with my life right now." He says there will be no shortage of challenges after Hendricks. "There are always going to be challenges," he said. "Im not above the sport. "Everybodys beatable and I always have to keep my head straight and stay humble and train hard." St-Pierre knows from experience. After dethroning future Hall of Famer Matt Hughes at UFC 65 in November 2006, his first title defence followed a truncated training camp marked by distractions that included family illness. He was knocked out by Serra in a shocking upset. St-Pierre has never made the same mistake again. As his training goes, so does his fighting. It has been a rough year for champions with Anderson Silva, Junior dos Santos and Benson Henderson losing their title within the last 12 months. "It makes you remember no matter how great you are, no matter how good youre doing, one mistake and you lose everything," St-Pierre said. He is realistic about the target on his back. "Ive been the target since I became champion because everyone wants what you have," St-Pierre said. "And its OK. "Its hard to become champion, its even harder to stay champion. I like the challenge every time. Im very motivated." Jake Fisher Youth Jersey . It was the word of opportunity for Reimer, who has fallen into the role of backup, outmatched in recent weeks by Jonathan Bernier, his Quebec counterpart. VANCOUVER -- The Montreal Canadiens traded defenceman Raphael Diaz to the Vancouver Canucks on Monday in exchange for forward Dale Weise. The 28-year-old Diaz had 11 assists and 12 penalty minutes in 46 games for the Canadiens this season. The native of Baar, Switzerland, has 41 points (four goals, 37 assists) and 48 penalty minutes in 128 NHL career games but was a healthy scratch of late with Montreal. "This is the business. This is the way it is," Diaz said Monday on a conference call. "As a player you want to play as much as you can and you want to help you team." Diaz joins a Canucks blue-line that has suffered a number of injuries in recent weeks, with both Christopher Tanev and Kevin Bieksa currently out of the lineup. "As a sportsman, as a hockey player, you respect everything (teams) do," he said. "(The Canadiens) always treated me good. They helped me learn a lot things to play in the NHL. "Im really excited for the new opportunity." Meanwhile, Weise never seemed to fit into the plans of Canucks head coach John Tortorella. The Winnipeg native had three goals, nine assists and 42 penalty minutes in 44 games this season, mostly while playing on the fourth line. "II think I can bring a physical presence to the (Canadiens)," said Weise.dddddddddddd "Im a good skater and I work hard and my success is down low and hanging onto pucks and being physical and trying to get to the hard areas to score goals. "Im not sure where Im going to fit in just yet. Im just looking forward to coming in and trying to play hard and trying to find a spot." In 162 career NHL games, the 25-year-old has 10 goals, 16 assists and 185 penalty minutes. Weises name had been mentioned in trade speculation in recent weeks, but Mondays deal still caught him off guard. "(The trade) comes as a little bit of a shock to me," said Weise. "I think any time you hear rumours around you think about it but theres so many (rumours) that go around and you just never know. "I didnt put too much thought into it ... I was shocked when I heard about it today." Weise was expected to arrive in Montreal on Monday night and practise with the Canadiens on Tuesday morning, while Diaz was set to meet up with his new teammates the same day in Boston. Both Weise and Diaz will get a chance to face their old teams this week when the Canadiens host the Canucks on Thursday night at the Bell Centre. cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys ' ' '

MIAMI -- David Beckhams architects and advisers have recommended the Port of Miami as the stadium site for the Major League Soccer expansion team that will be owned by the former English national team captain. The plan announced Monday would have an open-air stadium with views of the bay and the downtown skyline. The capacity could be as low as 21,000 or as high as 35,000. The operating premise is about 25,000. "Miami is all about the water, all about the culture," said Beckham, speaking from a rooftop terrace on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College, located just a few blocks from the Port of Miami. "I dont think people see that enough. "Our site is all about the skyline. It opens up to that. And thats what we want people to see that all around the world." More than 30 sites were evaluated for the stadium. In addition to the recommended site, Marlins Park, Florida International University and a site near the citys airport remain under consideration for the team. There is no year set for the team to start play. John Alschuler, chairman of the consulting firm HR&A, said the earliest the new stadium could be ready was 2018. If the team starts play earlier, it would have to play in a temporary home, such as Marlins Park or FIU. Alschuler said a stadium at the Port of Miami would be built without the use of taxpayer money and that fans could drive there by using the Port of Miami tunnel and seeking limited parking spaces. However, Beckham said he was headed to Tallahassee on Tuesday to lobby the state legislature for money. "We will be funding the money ourselves, but as an organization, we want to be treated like every other (sports franchise)," Beckham said. "Were not asking for anything more or anything less." Beckham was asked if he could make it work without state funding. "I dont think it would be fair to say we could or couldnt," he said. "We just want to be treated like every other franchise. Its not an ideal world, but this is what we would like to have happen." Beckhams group envisions perhaps as many as 4,000 fans per game making a "seven- or eight- minute walk" across the bridge from where the Miami Heat plays its NBA home games at AmericanAirlines Arena. "The March to the Match is a soccer tradition common in Europe and in certain parts of the United States," Alschuler said. "They hang out in bars and march to the match." To ease traffic and parking concerns, the proposed MLS team has said it would not schedule home games on the same nights the Heat plays. Beckham said he has never played in a stadium that doesnt have traffic issues and views that as a good problem because it would mean, in his view, that the team is playing to a "full house." Alschuler said Beckhams group would pay "fair market" value for the land at the proposed site and would make a $200 million investment in creating jobs and economic activity downtown. "We want a site that can feed off of the incredible energy that is developing downtown. We believe we can contribute to that," Alschuler said. "We want to be the most significant asset we can be to the economy of South Florida create jobs, create tax revenue and contribute to the economic balance sheet of the Port of Miami."
