ARLINGTON, Va. ArDarius Stewart Jersey . -- The Washington Capitals have promoted Ross Mahoney to assistant general manager. The Capitals announced Monday that Mahoney will advise new general manager Brian MacLellan in all player-related matters. Mahoney has served as a director of amateur scouting for the Capitals the past 16 seasons. Mahoney has also been a scout with the Buffalo Sabres and Vancouver Canucks. Marcus Maye Jets Jersey . "We used to be much better than that. http://www.thejetsjerseysshoponline.com/Youth-ArDarius-Stewart-Letes-Jersey/ .C. - Nick Merkley and Damon Severson each had a goal and two assists as the Kelowna Rockets downed the visiting Seattle Thunderbirds 6-3 on Saturday in Western Hockey League playoff action. In his first CFL Draft at the helm of his own football team, Winnipeg Blue Bombers general manager Kyle Walters solidified his offensive line, pulled the trigger on a trade to move back into the second round, and found some value with his late picks. And while taking highly-touted Simon Fraser offensive lineman Matthias Goossen second overall on Tuesday night will definitely help in an area of need for the club, it was a swap of draft picks that may prove to be his most shrewd move. "When Jesse Briggs started to fall a little bit, you could just see Kyle perk up in his chair. ‘We might have a chance here," said head coach Mike OShea of the Blue Bombers war room on Tuesday night. "And then (hes) working the phone and pulls the trigger and we move up to get a guy that we really value. I think that was a great move. It was fun to be sitting right there watching him work." Winnipeg entered the draft with no picks in the second round, having sent their original along with Alex Hall late last season to Saskatchewan to acquire offensive tackle Patrick Neufeld — a 25-year-old Canadian they hope to be a ratio-breaking starter on the offensive line. The Bombers called up a familiar trade partner Tuesday, Roughriders GM Brendan Taman, and exchanged their two third-round picks (20th and 26th overall) for Saskatchewans second-rounder, taking Briggs 17th overall to add some depth to the linebacker corps. "Jesse Briggs was a guy that we rated high. We were looking for some depth at linebacker. A special teams player. A phenomenal athlete," said Walters of the 6-foot-1, 222-pound McGill product. "And when we had an opportunity — youre in constant talk with all the other teams — if Briggs is here at this number heres what well do. And talking to a bunch of teams. And we were able to get him where we wanted to so we jumped at it." "Briggs, we expect to push. Losing James Green, Pierre Labbe, we needed that role as a special teams guy," added Walters. "Hes going to come in and be given every opportunity to compete and win that role as he pushes." "He played the SAM linebacker position in college so he is comfortable in space, but we view him in our system as a linebacker. An in-the-box guy thats going to be turned loose and run around." But the biggest acquisition made Tuesday is the man who the club hopes will soon start at centre. The 6-foot-4, 294-pound Goossen was one of two O-linemen who came to Winnipeg in the past month for private workouts and interviews. The othher was Lavals Pierre Lavertu who went first-overall to Calgary. ArDarius Stewart Youth Jersey. "I was really impressed by the way that the coaches came across, hearing about how things have changed there," said Goossen in his post-draft conference call. "Its really good to see the changes and I know that itll be a great year this upcoming year." Over the winter, Walters mentioned on a few occasions that the team needed and would land a starter with the No. 2 pick, but Tuesday the GM curtailed those statements slightly when speaking specifically of the 21-year-old lineman. "Im not going to put any undue pressure on him. Hes expecting himself to come in and start," said Walters. "Lets let him get to Winnipeg and lets let him get his feet under (him) before we start putting undue pressure on him." "Given his age, I mean he is a man," said OShea of Goossen. "You see how hes built. His film says that hes got a real good chance at (starting), but being as young as he is I just feel theres a little bit of a difference here. We dont want to stick him in and ruin him, sort of get him shell-shocked and ruin his confidence. "If camp shows us, and he shows us in camp what he believes hes going to show us and what we think he can do, and thats the logical step for us, then hell be in there. And if he needs a bit of time then were quite willing to give him that — afford him that time to develop a little bit. But hes going to be a good player for a long time in this league and its up to me now and the offensive line coach to make sure we dont put him in a position thats going to hurt his confidence." "Im just going to go to camp and try to work as hard as possible and just try to get better every day," added Goossen when asked about potentially starting in his rookie year. "If the coaches want to put me as a starter then that would be great, but right now Im just trying to get into camp and contribute to the team." Winnipeg added another Simon Fraser product in the fourth round in 6-foot-1 defensive back Derek Jones. Jones comes from some impressive bloodlines, as his father Ed won five Grey Cups with the Edmonton Eskimos in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Another intriguing prospect was taken in the sixth round with 305-pound defensive lineman Quinn Everett out of Mount Allison, who Walters says will be expected to learn the nose tackle position as well as along the O-line. The club drafted McMaster linebacker Aram Eisho with their final selection in the seventh round. Baptiste Amar also scored twice for France. "I feel like our team has a lot of character," Roussel said. "We created our chances on the power play. We were so aggressive and we didnt take so many shots." Ladislav Nagy had two goals for Slovakia, with captain Miroslav Satan also scoring. France has five points from three games in Group A, while Slovakia remained on one. "Were not ready to give it up," Satan said. "The tournament is not over yet." Kuchar shot 65, and Loupe had a 70.Heading into the second round series between the Boston and Montreal, the favoured Bruins were doing plenty of talking through the media to spur up the hatred. Now with the series tied at one after two exciting games in Boston and headed to what promises to be a raucous Bell Centre, the Canadiens jumped into the fray with some verbal barbs of their own on Monday. After being stonewalled by Canadiens goalie Carey Price in Game 1 - when he made 48 saves to help his team steal one with a 4-3 double overtime win - and then finding themselves down 3-1 halfway through the third period of Game 2, the Bruins scored three goals in 5:32 to take a 4-3 lead en route to a 5-3 win. Following the game, Bruins defenceman Dougie Hamilton and Torey Krug told the media they believed theyve solved the Canadiens gold-medal winning netminder. "I think weve definitely noticed that when hes screened, hes looking low," said Hamilton who scored first in the three-goal outburst late in Game 2. "He gets really low, so it seems like we score a lot of goals up high when we have net front presence. I dont know if were really trying [to do that], but weve definitely noticed that. When we can get our shots through their defenceman – especially the ones trying to block it -- we have a really good chance of getting it in." "It seems like almost all of the goals so far have gone to the upper half of the net," added Krug. Following practice on Monday, the Canadiens were quick to brush the Bruins analysis of Price aside, with head coach Michel Therrien claiming it was just another example of his counterpart Claude Julien and the Bruins trying to get under the skin of an opposing goalie. Early in the 2013 Stanley Cup Final, the Bruins scored frequently on the glove side of Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford and werent shy about telling the media that they were exposing Crawfords weakness. Ironically, Crawfords goalie coach then was current Montreal goalie coach Stephane Waite and Therrien believes the Bruins are playing the same mind games as the series switches to the Bell Centre. "Well we all remember last year and Stephane Waite remember it more than anyone else that they make the same comments when they went into the playoffs and the Stanley Cup final with the Chicago Blackhawks and talking about about Corey Crawford," Therrien pointed out Monday. "Thats part of their game and their thinking. They try to put pressure on the other team with the media." Price seemed to find Hamiltons and Krugs comments almost comical. He pointed out that shooting high through traffic in front of the net is a common objective of most teams and players. "Ive seen a lot of scouting reports on lots of goalies throughout the league and thats pretty much the scouting report on everybody," Price said. "Its the same for Tuukka [Rask], its the same for Ben Bishop and its the same for Corey Crawford. So its a pretty irrelevant comment I thought. Cheap Vikings Jerseys Authentic. " Price was then asked if this was just another example of the Bruins trying to wage a verbal war through the media. "Sure. I dont know," Price said laughing. "I guess. But like I said, they can try it but its going to be no different. Like I said, thats essentially how most goals are scored this time of year in this league so thats essentially a generic comment." During Game 2, the Bruins took a bench minor due to Julien expressing his displeasure with some calls against his team and what he felt were a lack of calls against the Canadiens. When asked about his teams ability to rally for the win, the Bruins bench boss took what appeared to be a little jab at the officiating. "I think especially the way it happened - we had that tough second period and at the start of the third, they got that other power play goal, but the way we just battled back through, I felt, a lot of crap that we put up with today, was pretty indicative of what our teams all about," Julien said. "It just shows that if you focus on the things you need to focus on, theres a pretty good team that can accomplish a lot." The crap part didnt go unnoticed by Therrien and on Monday he called his counterpart out. "Its the same thing with Claude. Hes not happy with all that ‘crap," he said. "I thought they got away with a lot of things as far as Im concerned, but they try and influence referees. Thats the way they are. Thats not going to change. Thats the way they like to do their things. But for us, were not paying attention to those things. We all know what theyre trying to do but it doesnt affect us at all." Therrien went on to say his team isnt going to focus on more retaliation through the media but rather to stay focused on their game plan on the ice. "We want to play hard and honestly we all understand the discipline is really crucial," he said. "Whatever comments they make on us, Im not a coach thats going to start making comments the other way. Its never been my philosophy. I dont like that. They can say whatever they want. Its their choice. But we know what we have to do to get success." That may very well be true, but the Canadiens made it clear Monday that they also dont plan to let every verbal jab from the Bruins go unheeded. EAST RUTHERFORD, N. Cheap Chargers Jerseys Authentic .J. -- Rex Ryan wanted more from his New York Jets. More points. More discipline. More execution. Thats why the coach was far from thrilled after a 19-14 season-opening victory over the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. "This game shouldve been a rat kill," Ryan said. "It wasnt." Chris Ivory had a 71-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter, and the Jets swarming defence mostly clamped down on Oakland rookie quarterback Derek Carr as New York held the Raiders to 158 total yards and overcame a sloppy, penalty-filled performance to win. "Our fans were better than our team today," Ryan said, bemoaning the Jets 11 penalties for 105 yards. "We never had any takeaways and had two turnovers, so thats obviously a work in progress. It has to get better for us to do what we want to do." With the game still in the balance, Ivory rushed up the middle and appeared stopped. He slipped a few would-be tacklers and took off into the end zone. A pass on a 2-point conversion failed. Carr, the Raiders second-round draft pick, made it close with a 30-yard touchdown toss to James Jones, who made a leaping grab over Darrin Walls with 1:21 left. The Raiders tried an onside kick, but Greg Salas recovered to seal it for the Jets. "Well take it," Ryan said. "Im not very happy with it, but its a victory." Geno Smith was shaky early with an interception and lost fumble. But he threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Chris Johnson as the Jets sent the Raiders to their 14th straight loss in the Eastern time zone. Smith finished 23 of 28 for 221 yards. "Weve got high expectations," Smith said. "We cant shoot ourselves in the foot and we cant make excuses for it." Ivory finished with 102 yards on 10 carries, while Johnson had 68 yards rushing in his Jets debut and caught five passes for 23 yards. The Jets were fired up by comments made by former right tackle Austin Howard, saying the Raiders would push around his ex-teammates. "They certainly did that, to the tune of 25 yards rushing," Ryan said sarcastically. "And they gave up (212) rushing." Carr, who got the nod over Matt Schaub, held his own in the first half, but the Jets pressured him throughout the final two quarters. He finished 20 of 32 for 151 yards, with touchdowns to Jones and Rod Streater. "I dont think the game was too big for him," Raiders coach Dennis Allen said. "Overall, I saw some positive signs, some things that he did well. Obviously, I saw some mistakes." With the Jets leading 10-7, the defence came out roaring to start the second half, holding the Raiders to minus-3 yards in the third quarter. "I need to do a better job of putting us in better situations," Carr said. "Now I have to do a better job of making the correct calls. You can put it all on me." Carr had a short field to work with after Charles Woodson intercepted Smith. He got his first NFL touchdown on a screen to Streater, who scored from 12 yards to give the Raiders a 7-3 lead. Smith turned it over again on the next possession, killing a long drive, when he fumbled -- with Michael Vick lined up at wide receiver -- while trying to get into the end zone. Sio Moore plowed into Smith, knocking the ball loose, and TJ Carrie recovered. Johnson, signed by the Jets as a free agent in April, took a shovel pass and stretched into the end zone for a 5-yard score that put New York up 10-7 just 30 seconds before halftime. The Jets nearly got a touchdown on some trickery on the previous play when Vick lined up as a wide receiver, sprinted into the backfield and took a flip from Smith. Vick zipped a pass just wide of an open Eric Decker as the ball went off his fingertips in the end zone. It ended a sloppy first half for the Jets, who were called for eight penalties, including one that was declined. The Raiders had no first-half penalties, and finished with four. NOTES: Ryan improved to 8-1 against rookie quarterbacks making their first appearance against his Jets defence. ... The Raiders fell to 0-3 in season openers under Allen, while Ryan is 5-1 with the Jets. ... Woodson joined Darrell Green (19) as the only players with an INT in at least 17 consecutive seasons. ... CLEVELAND -- Josh Gordons troubles are piling up fast. Wholesale Redskins Jerseys . Clevelands Pro Bowl wide receiver, facing a possible NFL suspension for another failed drug test, was ticketed for speeding last weekend and a passenger in his car was cited for marijuana possession. Gordon was pulled over for driving 74 mph in a 60 mph zone on May 25, WKYC-TV reported Friday. According to the report, the passenger in Gordons Mercedes was issued a citation for possession of marijuana in an amount under 200 grams. The marijuana was found in a blue bag with identification. The passenger said the marijuana was not Gordons. Browns general manager Ray Farmer issued a statement regarding Gordons latest issue. "We are gathering information regarding the situation," Farmer said. "We will not have any further comment until the appropriate time." Gordons pending case is posted online on the Berea Municipal Court docket. It says Gordon showed proof of insurance when he was stopped and that he did not have any warrants. He is due to appear in court on June 4. The traffic stop comes as the Browns are awaiting news whether Gordon will be available to play this season. The talented 23-year-old was suspended two games last season for failing a drug test and still led the league with 1,664 yards receiving. Earlier this month, ESPN reported that Gordon, who entered the league with a history of substance-abuse problems, failed another drug test, which could result in a one-year ban. Gordon has been practicing with the Browns as he awaits word from the league. Gordon has declined to comment at the workouts that have been open to the media the past two weeks. Last year, Gordon was convicted of two traffic offences after pleading no contest in court. He was ticketed twice for speeding, once for driving 98 mph. He paid $296 in fines and court costs. Former Browns coach Rob Chudzinski spoke to Gordon about his actions. Norman, OK (SportsNetwork. Josh Jones Womens Jersey .com) - TaShawn Thomas scored 24 points with eight rebounds as No. 18 Oklahoma nabbed a 73-63 win over 22nd-ranked Baylor to open Big 12 action. Buddy Hield had 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Isaiah Cousins added 19 points and eight boards for the Sooners (10-3, 1-0 Big 12), who have won their last three. It was a good way to open conference play, said Oklahoma head coach Lon Kruger. I thought it was really played at a high level. I thought both teams in the first half had what they wanted offensively and I thought both did a better job defensively in the second half. Johnathan Motley scored 24 points and Taurean Prince gave 17 for the Bears (11-2, 0-1), who had a six-game winning streak broken. Well I thought this was a typical Big 12 game in what the season will be about, and that it was hard fought, said Baylor head coach Scott Drew. I thought both teams defended. We shot 37 percent and they shot 40 percent. I think both teams feel that they could have played better and done things better. The teams stayed close through the first part of the first half until Lester Medford hit a pair of 3-pointers two minutes apart to give Baylor a 23-16 lead with 8 1/2 minutes left. Oklahoma came right back with a jumper from Thomas and a pair of 3s from Hield to take the lead back a minute later. With the score tied late in the half, Thomas made another bucket and Cousins closed the half with a jumper to give the Sooners a 37-33 lead at the break. Leading by two, the Sooners got seven straight points, with Cousins 3-pointer giving the team a 46-37 lead just over four minutes in. Baylor tried to keep up and kept the game close, but Hields 3-ball with just over six minutes to play gave the team a 58-46 lead, and the Sooners cruised from there. Game Notes Oklahoma plays at Texas on Monday ... Baylor hosts Kansas on Wednesday ... The Sooners shot 40.7 percent and grabbed 40 rebounds, while Baylor made 37.3 percent of its attempts, and nabbed 35 boards ... Oklahoma has dominated the series with Baylor, 42-11. BARCELONA, Spain -- Barcelonas title defence took a blow when it stumbled to a 1-0 defeat at Valladolid, missing the chance to move top of the Spanish standings on Saturday ahead of its Champions League clash with Manchester City at Camp Nou. John Johnson Womens Jersey . Atletico Madrid took advantage of Barcelonas latest slip by winning 2-0 at Celta Vigo courtesy of David Villas two goals in a three-minute span to move ahead of Barcelona and level on points with Real Madrid at the top of the standings. Once the league pacesetter, Barcelona has won just two of its last seven away league games and trails its title rivals by one point before Madrid hosts Levante on Sunday. Lionel Messi was the only Barcelona player who looked sharp, while his teammates were plagued by uncharacteristic passing errors and again proved brittle at the back. Valladolid outplayed the defending champions early and midfielder Fausto Rossi netted the winner in the 17th minute. The relegation-threatened side then did well to protect three points against the star-studded visitors for the remainder. After its strong start this season under first-year coach Gerardo Martino, Barcelona has dropped points in five of the last nine rounds. "As long as it is mathematically possible we will keep fighting," said Martino, whose team visits Madrid in two weeks. "We are not in our best form, and we have to rediscover it within 15 days. We are worried because the league title is being decided right now." Before the clasico, however, Martino will have to regroup his team against City on Wednesday. Barcelona will be looking to protect its 2-0 lead in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie. Valladolid started the round in the drop zone, but the big win -- only its fifth in 27 rounds -- provisionally pulled it out of danger. "Its an incredible result," said Rossi, who was at Valladolid on loan from Juventus. "All together we can save this team." Also, last-place Real Betis gave a boost to its slim hopes of staying up by beating Getafe 2-0 in Seville, while Villarreal lost 2-0 at Granada to falter in the race for fourth place. After Barcelona lost 3-1 at Real Sociedad in its last league away match, Martino aligned his best 11 available without Andres Iniesta, who didnt travel with the team for undisclosed personal reasons. Even so, Barcelona lacked its regular cool composure from the start and failed to dominate possession until it was trailing in the score. Holding midfielder Sergio Busquets, usually so sure with the ball, erred on three passes before the 25-minute mark. By that time Valladolid had threatened Barcelonas area and taken the lead when Rossi finished off a rebound after both his first attempt and Javi Guerras follow-up had hit defenders. Messis solo effort saved by goalkeeper Diego Marino in the 10th was all the visitors could muster in the first half hour. Messi, who showed no signs of his apparent vomiting from Argentinas 0-0 draw against Romania this week, used a burst of speed to break free in the 48th, only to be denied again by Marino. Messi got little help. Neymar had a quiet match and sailed his only scoring chance over the bar before he was substituted. Atletico was without suspended leading scorer Diego Costa. That meant Villa, who was dropped from Spains squad for its friendly with Italy, got the nod up front. And after a dull first half, the former Barcelona striker notched his 12th and 13th league goals of the campaign. Villa first pounced on a poor pass by Celtas Jonathan Castro, dodged Andreu Fontas last-ditch tackle, and drilled the ball beyond goalkeeper Yoel Rodriguez in the 62nd. He slotted in his second goal to seal the victory two minutes later. "Every point is important and we have to go forward game by game," said Villa. "Each game is a final and we have to win them all." Atletico hosts AC Milan on Tuesday in the last-16 of the Champions League after winning their first meeting 1-0. Betis won thanks to first-half goals from forwards Leo Baptistao and Ruben Castro to keep the hapless Getafe winless in 12 consecutive rounds and only one point from relegation. This was the same Leafs team that holds wins over Boston and Chicago this season, but whatever those victories said about Toronto’s potential was silenced by the hapless performance in Buffalo Saturday night. It was the Leafs’ version of the embarrassment felt by the Sabres when they resembled an AHL team in a 4-0 loss at Toronto on October 28. In that game, the Sabres managed a total of 10 shots on goal. They had 14 in the first period alone of Saturday’s redemption - and two of those shots went in. And as if the Leafs needed further reason to lament a lopsided defeat in Buffalo, it was acknowledged by Sabres coach Ted Nolan that the large contingent of Toronto supporters gave a spark to his last-place team. “A good road win,” he called it. Toronto players were eqqually helpful. John Johnson Youth Jersey. Thumbs Up Thumbs up to “Saturday’s Star,” and because there may be no other opportunity to pick a Buffalo Sabre, it is Zemgus Girgensons for his two-goal performance against the Leafs. One was officially shorthanded, and the other was effectively that as Girgensons’ second goal came two seconds after a Buffalo penalty to Torrey Mitchell expired. Buffalo fans have made Connor McDavid their favourite player, but just in case McDavid winds up with another team, Girgensons is the best hope for the future currently wearing a Sabres uniform. Nolan probably wishes he had a whole team of Latvians (see: Sochi Olympics), because the 20-year-old from Riga is truly a standout. There isn’t a more amazing individual stat in today’s NHL than this one; the Sabres, as a team, own the pitiful goal differential of -38. Girgensons’ plus-minus rating is +3. The Ottawa Senators made a low-risk investment, both in terms of picks and contract, in an effort to boost their offence. Cheap Cam Robinson Jersey . Numbers Game looks at the Senators getting Ales Hemsky from the Edmonton Oilers for a pair of draft picks. The Senators Get: RW Ales Hemsky. Hemsky, 30, is not the two-time 70-point scorer that he was earlier in his career, but there are some factors working in his favour, at least in terms of producing more offensively. For one thing, he has good possession numbers while facing high-quality opposition and starting an unsually-low (43.9%) percentage of his shifts in the offensive zone. If the Senators plug Hemskys playmaking skill alongside Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek, that would have to be considered a much better situation for an offensive player than Hemskys role in Edmonton this year, where his most common centre was checker Boyd Gordon. The Senators are in tough to try and get into the playoffs -- four points out with 20 games remaining -- but its not impossible and adding Hemsky does give them a decent chance to have a second productive scoring line. Perhaps the real coup of the deal for the Senators is that they convinced the Oilers to retain half of Hemskys salary and while thats not a huge deal for a pending unrestricted free agent, it makes for a cheap addition of a top six forward. The Oilers Get: A fifth-round pick and 2015 third-round pick. The net return on this deal is remarkably little for the Oilers. Cumulatively, a fifth and third-round pick brings approximately a 36% chance of landing an NHL player, and that player is likely not going to be in the league for three or four years, at least. Its one thing to roll the dice on a few picks, but to also pick up half of Hemskys cap hit is a tad generous, but this is likely a function of how the Oilers have used Hemsky this season. If he was played in an offensive role throughout the year and put up points, there would be greater demand for his services which would obviously bring a better return. Since Hemsky was effectively playing on the Oilers third line, there is room to plug in the likes of Ryan Jones or Jesse Joensuu to fill the spot. Presumably there will be an attempt in the offseason to find a more suitable top nine forward to fill the void created by Hemskys departure. In any case, the Hemsky Era in Edmonton is over, after 477 points in 652 games, and hes going to have a decent shot to rehabilitate his offensive image before hitting free agency in the summer. Its been a frustrating week for the ballclub.Melbourne, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) - Stanislas Wawrinka defeated an injured Rafael Nadal in Sundays mens final at the 2014 Australian Open. The eighth-seeded Swiss upset the world No. 1 star 6-3, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 at Melbourne Parks Rod Laver Arena, where the Spaniard labored mightily with a back injury on Australia Day. Trailing a set and a break, Nadal actually left the court for a medical timeout in the second set, only to return to a chorus of boos. The Grand Slam title is the first of Wawrinkas career, in his 36th major event, as he becomes only the second-ever Swiss to corral a major singles championship, joining the great Roger Federer, who was blown out by Nadal in a semifinal here on Friday. "Rafa, Im really sorry for you, I hope your back is going to be fine, youre a really great guy, good friend and really amazing champion," Wawrinka said during the trophy presentation. "Last year I had a crazy match, I lost it. I was crying a lot after the match. But in one year a lot happened -- I still dont know if Im dreaming or not but well see tomorrow morning." In the fourth and final set on Sunday, Wawrinka broke Nadal for a 4-2 lead, only to see the gritty Spaniard break right back to hang in there. Wawrinka, however, promptly broke Nadal again and then served out the bout on his first match point by swatting one final forehand winner. Wawrinka blew through the first set and was ahead in the second when Nadal first showed signs of a back problems, as a retirement looked like a real possibility at the time, with Nadal striking sub-80-mph serves. The Lausanne native Wawrinka was aggravated during Nadals medical timeout, demanding that officials tell him why the Spaniard needed the break. Wawrinka then aggressively finished off the second set before Nadal fought back in the third. Nadal saved break points to hold in the opening game of the third set and then broke Wawrinka and held for a 3-0 lead. He won the third set as Wawrinka started piling up some errors, with the Swiss appearing unable to handle the pressure of being in his first Grand Slam final. But Wawrinka composed himself once again in the fourth and ultimately cruised to victory. Thhe Swiss slugger prevailed in 2 hours, 21 minutes by firing 19 aces among his 53 winners (53-19) and tallying three more service breaks (5-2) than Nadal on Day 14. Cheap Jacksonville Jaguars Jerseys. "He deserves to win the title," Nadal said of Wawrinka. "Im very happy for him, hes a great guy. "Im obviously disappointed and very sad about what happened. But thats life, thats sport. Ive really had a lot of great moments in my career. Thats a tough one. Just accept it and try to keep working hard for whats coming." Nadal has had a tough go of it with injuries at the Aussie Open. He missed last years edition during a seven-month layoff with knee injuries and illness, and his quarterfinal losses in 2010 and 2011 were affected by injuries. Wawrinka had been 0-12 lifetime against Nadal, including a round-of-32 Aussie Open loss in 2007, and had never taken a set off the Spanish great prior to Sunday. The 2009 champion Nadal was playing in his third career Aussie Open final (1-2) and second in three years. The 28-year-old Wawrinka appeared in his first career Grand Slam final. The 27-year-old Nadal played in his 19th career Grand Slam final overall (13-6), tying Ivan Lendl for second on the mens all-time list. Wawrinka will move up to a career-high No. 3 in the world on Monday after beating the top-two players in the world this week. He improved to 6-9 in his career finals overall, including 2-0 already in 2014, as he has yet to lose this year (10-0). The last player to beat the top-two seeds at a Grand Slam was Sergi Bruguera at the 1993 French Open. Nadal fell to 61-25 in his career finals, as he was trying to become the first man in the Open Era to win each Grand Slam twice. Wawrinka became the first player to beat both Nadal and Djokovic at a major event. The "Big Four" of Nadal, Djokovic, Andy Murray and Federer had won 34 of the previous 35 Slams. American legend and 14-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras was on the court for the trophy presentation Sunday. A win by Nadal would have tied him with Sampras on the mens all-time list. Wawrinka colleted $2.35 million for the biggest win of his career, while Nadal settled for $1.175 million. CLEVELAND - Corey Klubers closing argument for the AL Cy Young Award was a convincing one. Quincy Wilson Colts Jersey .Kluber struck out 11 in eight innings, and the Cleveland Indians beat the Tampa Bay Rays 1-0 on Friday night. The game concluded about an hour before the Indians were eliminated from playoff contention by Oaklands 6-2 victory at Texas. The As victory also put an end to Klubers breakout season.Kluber (18-9), who allowed five hits and walked two, is tied for the AL lead in wins. He recorded his 11th double-digit strikeout game of the season and leads the majors with 269 strikeouts. He looked like he was on a mission, but hes looked like that all season, Indians manager Terry Francona said. That was Corey Kluber at his best, and hes done it so many times. The race for the AL Cy Young Award appears to be down to Kluber and Seattles Felix Hernandez. The Mariners ace, who was roughed up in his last outing, is expected to start Sunday.Kluber, as he has all season, deflected talk of any personal achievement. Its not my call, Kluber said when asked about his chances. It would be a great accomplishment, but the biggest thing is the team winning.Cody Allen, who pitched a perfect ninth for his 24th save, believes Kluber should win baseballs biggest prize for a pitcher.Hes been our horse all year, Allen said. Hes an elite talent. Hes a guy you can run out there and match him up against anybody. Every time he pitches we have a pretty good chance to win. A guy like him is pretty special.Kluber was at his best when his team needed him the most, going 5-0 with a 1.12 ERA in his last five starts. He had recorded 14 strikeouts in each of his past two outings, becoming the first pitcher since Randy Johnson in 2004 to have consecutive 14-strikeout games.Kluber also helped Cleveland set the major league record for strikeouts in a season when he fanned David DeJesus in the eighth inning for the teams 1,429th K of the season. Detroits pitchers fanned 1,428 in 2013.That says weve got pitchers on this staff with good stuff, Kluber said. That record speaks volumes for our staff.Jose Ramirez homered in the first for the games only run.Chris Archer (10-9) pitched 7 2-3 innings of three-hit ball for the Rays. The right-hander went 1-1 with a sparkling 0.86 ERA in his final three starts of the year.Klubers biggest jam came in the seventh. Matt Joyce reached on a one-out single and Kevin Kiermaier drew a four-pitch walk with two away. Kluber struck out Ryan Hanigan looking on a 2-2 pitch to end the inning.Kluber finished with a flourish, striking out DeJesus and Evan Longoria to end the eighth.Kluber struck out the side in the first and also fanned two in the third and fifth. James Loney led off the second with a single, but Nick Franklin bounced into a double play. After Matt Joyce walked, Brandon Guyer struck out.Loney singled with two out in the fourth, but Franklin grounded out. Kiermaier tripled with two down in the fifth, but Hanigan fouled out to first baseman Carlos Santana, who tumbled to the ground while making the catch. The elevated fastball was his friend, Rays manager Joe Maddon said. He did a nice job with that. He was not throwing the ball with the middle part of the plate very often tonight. The Indians scored 19 runs in Klubers previous three starts, but struggled again with their ace on the mound. Cleveland averaged just 1.1 runs in his nine losses.Archers only mistake cost him the game. He struck out six and walked two.WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKESIt was nearly a year ago, on Oct. 2, that the Rays were last in Cleveland, eliminating the Indians with a 4-0 victory in the AL wild-card game. Interestingly enough, Alex Cobb, who started that night for the Rays, will match up with the Indians starter from that game, Danny Salazar, on Sunday.PRAISE FOR THE CAPTAINFrancona wasnt surprised retiring Yankees SS Derek Jeter hit a game-ending single in his last home game Thursday night. That probably sums up Jeter, he said. Hes always ready for the moment. If it seems like theres more moments for him, maybe its because he makes those moments.UP NEXTRays: RHP Alex Colome (1-0) makes his third start and fifth appearance of the season Saturday. He allowed four runs in one inning in a relief appearance Sunday against the White Sox.Indians: RHP Carlos Carrasco (8-6) will try to finish on a strong note in his 14th start of the season. LOUIS -- Brett Gardners leaping catch in the 11th inning gave the New York Yankees life. Patient at-bats and their first hit since the fifth inning put them over the top. "I just tried to get back there as fast as I could," Gardner said of his catch at the top of the left field wall that denied Yadier Molina of at least extra bases and perhaps a game-ending two-run homer in the Yankees 6-4 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals in 12 innings Monday. "It was an easy play, just go back and make sure I get the ball in the glove before my back hits the wall." Brian Roberts bases loaded single was the go-ahead hit in a three-run 12th fueled by two walks and a hit batter. The Yankees won for the fourth time in extra innings on the season, three of them in the last six games. "Its a grind," Gardner said. "But weve been playing pretty well and we seem to really stay focused." Pinch-hitter Alfonso Soriano and Brendan Ryan each added an RBI for the Yankees, who took the opener of a three-game interleague series for their third straight win. Alfredo Aceves (1-2) worked two scoreless innings and David Robertson earned his 11th save in 12 chances. "At that point, youre just trying to get the guy in," Roberts said. "You need to be selective and find ways to win." Jon Jay had an RBI double in the 12th for the Cardinals, who lost for the third time in 12 games. "Just a really bad day," reliever Randy Choate said. "I felt fine coming in, just didnt have good stuff." A standing-room crowd of 47,311, the third-largest at 9-year-old Busch Stadium, showed up to see an opponent making only its second appearance in St. Louis since losing to the Cardinals in the 1964 World Series. The enthusiasm did not appear to be dampened by a 61-minute weather delay -- for rain that did not materialize -- before the first pitch. Cardinals pitchers retired 20 of 21 batters before the 12th, when Choate (0-2) faced five batters and four reached safely. Five Yankees relievers were stingy, too, permitting two hits in seven innings. "It comes down to doing little things and getting big hits," St. Louis manager Mike Matheny said. "Thats no secret. We had a couple of opportunities to get the big hit. You cant do it all the time." Jacoby Ellsbury got the rally started when he walked to lead off the inning and stole second, a call upheld aafter Matheny challenged. Tarell Basham Colts Jersey. After coming through, Roberts is 3 for 6 in extra innings. "Another big hit for us," manager Joe Girardi said. "I thought the bottom of the lineup was extremely productive." Molina slammed his helmet in frustration after Gardner came down with his drive at the top of the fence with a runner on and one out in the 11th. Derek Jeter got a standing ovation before his first at-bat, and thousands stood again when he singled, although they also roared when he took a called third strike to end the eighth against Carlos Martinez after Molinas pinpoint throw on Gardner attempting to steal. Michael Wacha dealt with a rain delay for the fourth time in his 11 starts -- total idle time of 4 hours, 52 minutes. After nine pitches the Yankees had the lead, with a walk by Gardner and a single by Jeter setting up Ellsburys RBI single. The first three batters reached in a two-run fifth, too, with Kelly Johnsons RBI single and Gardners sacrifice fly putting the Yankees up 3-1. New York rookie starter Chase Whitley was vulnerable early, too. The Cardinals needed two at-bats to tie it in the first when Matt Carpenter tripled off the right-field wall and Kolten Wong doubled, but they missed a chance for more when Wong overslid third and was caught stealing for the first time in eight attempts this season. Whitley qualified for a win for the first time in three career starts, but left with the bases loaded and none out in the sixth before the Cardinals tied it against Preston Claiborne. Allen Craig had an RBI groundout and Jhonny Peralta followed with a sacrifice fly. Wacha bounced back after taking a foul liner off his elbow while sitting in the dugout his last time out, giving up three runs on four hits in seven innings. He had a season-low two strikeouts, the first against Ellsbury leading off the sixth. NOTES: In a pregame ceremony, Jeter received Stan Musial cuff links and a $10,000 check for the captains Turn 2 Foundation. ... The Cardinals also paid tribute to their 1964 team. ... Whitley is the first Yankees pitcher to make his first three career starts on the road since Ramiro Mendoza made four in a row in 1996. ... Cardinals RHP Lance Lynn (5-2, 3.60 ERA) opposes David Phelps (1-1, 3.1 on Tuesday night. Lynn is 1-3 with a 5.08 ERA in six career interleague starts. ... CALGARY -- Pierre Lavertu has an experienced, successful guide on the Calgary Stampeders offensive line. [url=http://www.ravensa

CALGARY -- Pierre Lavertu has an experienced, successful guide on the Calgary Stampeders offensive line. Tim Williams Womens Jersey . Brett Jones was fresh out of university at Calgarys training camp a year ago. The centre from Weyburn, Sask., went on to become the first offensive lineman to be named the Canadian Football Leagues most outstanding rookie. The Stampeders hope Lavertu is also a quick study. Calgary swung a draft-day deal with Ottawa to make the Laval athlete the first overall pick May 13. The 24-year-old from Quebec City played centre for the Rouge et Or, but with Jones so successful at that position in 2013, Lavertu has worked most of the pre-season at guard. Jones may be two years younger than Lavertu, but hes helping usher the older rookie into professional football. "Hes given me advice and helped me during meetings. He sits behind me," Lavertu said Tuesday at McMahon Stadium. "Brett is an inspiration for me because he did everything well. He has great technique, good footwork, he knows everything thats happening on the field." Jon Gott, who was dealt to the expansion Redblacks for the first pick in the draft, and the retired Dimitri Tsoumpas mentored Jones in his first year in the league, so Jones wants to pay it forward. "They just made sure I was welcomed into the group," Jones said. "Were known as a unit. I just want whats best for the offensive line." Lavertu, who is six foot three and 298 pounds, won three Vanier Cups and was a three-time CIS all-star with Laval. He was surprised Calgary drafted him because of Jones, but Lavertu is also excited at the prospect of blocking for star running back Jon Cornish. "If they want me to play guard, Im going to play guard," Lavertu said. "Its the opportunity theyve given to me. Im going to take it and do the best I can to be successful at right guard. "We have Jon Cornish and a lot of good running backs. I love to run-block for him. When you run the ball like that and control the clock like that, you are going to win." Lavertu played right guard in the first half and returned to centre for the second when Jones came out of Saturdays pre-season win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Calgary rushed for 193 yards in a 23-20 victory. The Stampeders are in Vancouver to face the Lions in another pre-season game Friday. Calgary hosts Montreal in their regular-season opener June 28. As Jones did, Lavertu must adapt to the quicker pace of the pro game as well the calibre of the oppositions defensive line. "Theres a lot more things hes responsible for and the talent hes going against every play is equal (to him) or better," Calgary offensive line coach Pat DelMonaco said. "You have to factor in some of them have five, six or seven years of experience." The six-foot-two, 321-pound Jones says Lavertu makes the same errors he did in his early days as a Stampeder. "I made a ton of mistakes," Jones said. "Youre going to make mistakes and its just not making the same mistake twice. "Hes doing great. This offence isnt that easy. You can just see hes making those changes and just making those improvements to get better. Whenever he gets a chance to play, Im excited to play beside him and hope the best for him." "Its embarrassing what were doing here," leading scorer Phil Kessel said Wednesday. The most recent failed season came with even more pain than the six that preceded it. Dorrian Williams and Chris Kendrix had 10 points apiece to lead the Bears (8-11, 2-5), who have dropped five in a row. Wichita State returned to the site of one of its narrowest wins last season, a 72-69 victory over the Bears in overtime on Jan. 11 that kept the Shockers unbeaten on the way to the first 35-0 start by a team in NCAA history. COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Patience is a virtue in hockey, too. Amara Darboh Youth Jersey . Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 24 shots and flu-weakened James Wisniewski had a goal and two assists to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 4-1 victory over the struggling New Jersey Devils on Tuesday night. Nothing much happened in the first 26 minutes of play, but the Blue Jackets adhered to their game plan and in the end it paid huge dividends. "We kind of just stuck with it," said Cam Atkinson, who scored an unassisted goal for what proved to be the winner. "Theyre a trap team so whoever broke down first, the other teams going to capitalize. A big power-play goal by Dubie kind of got the ball rolling for us." Brandon Dubinsky had a goal and an assist and Marian Gaborik added an empty-netter for the Blue Jackets, who won for the second time at home after losing four games in a row. They are 13-3-3 in their last 19 home games. "We played a smart, systematic game -- thats what the Devils do," Columbus coach Todd Richards said. "It was a little bit of a chess match going back and forth. I like the way we managed the puck and managed our shifts. There just wasnt a lot going on and you have to be comfortable playing that game. Patience is a good way to describe it." Leading 2-1, the Blue Jackets made it a two-goal lead at 4:12 of the third. The Devils had a bad turnover in their defensive zone, with Wisniewski stepping across the blue line and almost pushing the puck toward the net. The puck hit the stick of defenceman Mark Fayne and went through to goalie Corey Schneider before tumbling over the goal line. That was more than enough of a cushion for Bobrovsky, last years Vezina Trophy winner as the NHLs top goalie. He came in with just two wins despite a .921 save percentage while starting the first seven games. He made several solid saves in the second period, in particular, but wasnt tested much in the third. "Obviously, Bob was a rock for us tonight," Atkinson said. The loss dropped the Devils to 0-5-2 on the road and 1-5-3 on the season. They had finally picked up their first win with a 4-0 victory on Saturday that ended a club-record, season-opening seven-game winless streak. "We definitely wanted to build off that win. We started that way with the power-play goal (by Michael Ryder), but we didnt do it," captain Bryce Salvador said. Asked what the teams problem was on the road, Salvador said, "I dont know. If we knew, wed definitely address it and fix it." Coach Peter DeBoer was left to explain another defeat. "We turned the puck over in our own zone a couple of times and they banged it in," he said. "Were all searching for answers. The bottom line is, when you go on the road and play these teams -- and thats a big strong team -- you have to have 20 guys prepared to be in the fight and win battles. You cant go in with 15 or 16." The Devils led 1-0 after Ryders power-play goal in the second period, but Dubinsky responded with a man-advantage goal of his own. Atkinson and Wisniewski, who didnt come out for the morning skate he was so sick, each added unassisted goals. "I woke up at 6 a.m. and (was really sick)," Wisniewski said. "We showed a lot of character in the way we played. It took us a while to get going, but we found a way to win." The Blue Jackets took a 2-1 lead at 15:30 of the second when Atkinson skated toward the high slot. His quick backhander made it through heavy traffic for his third of the season. After Wisniewskis goal, Gaborik scored his fourth on an empty net with 35 seconds left in the game. The Blue Jackets are a different team from when they couldnt gain a point on the road a week ago. "The big word for me is urgency," Dubinsky said. "Were a lot more urgent in our game. Were putting long stretches of (good) time together. If you look through those losses, we had stretches where we were playing good but just not for long enough. Over the last couple of games, weve just dug deep and played complete games." NOTES: New Jersey F Jaromir Jagr played in his 1,400th NHL game. He is the active leader in goals (683, 10th all-time), assists (1,011, 12th) and points (1,694, 8th). ... The Blue Jackets are 29-0-0 since Jan. 9, 2012 when leading after two periods. ... The San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders are giving it a try, too.(SportsNetwork.com) - LeBron James has lifted the Miami Heat within one game of the Eastern Conference Finals, and hell try to finish off the Brooklyn Nets when the two sides meet in Game 5 of the East semis Wednesday night at American Airlines Arena. After the two-time defending champion Heat lost Game 3 in Brooklyn, James, the MVP runner-up, put Miami on his back in Game 4 Wednesday night, a 102-96 victory. James scored 49 points, matching his career-high in the playoffs, and the Heat bounced back two days after having their eight-game postseason winning streak snapped. James was 16-of-24 from the field and 14-of-19 at the foul line. He missed a free throw with 1.1 seconds left and a chance to reach 50. He also scored 49 points for Cleveland in Game 1 of the 2009 conference finals against Orlando. "Whatever I needed to do to help us win, it needed to be done -- offensively, defensively, being the leader that I am on the floor, helping us overcome any adversity," said James. Dwyane Wade added 15 points for the second-seeded Heat, Chris Bosh scored 12 and Ray Allen had 11 off the bench. Miami shot just shy of 53 percent. Joe Johnson had 18 points to lead a well-rounded Nets effort. Paul Pierce chipped in 16 and Deron Williams and Shaun Livingston both scored 13. James piicked up his fifth foul and Kevin Garnett made two free throws to tie the score with less than a minute to go. Jarrad Davis Youth Jersey. Surrounded by Garnett and Pierce down low, James kicked the ball back to Mario Chalmers up top and Chalmers swung it to Bosh in the right corner. Bosh buried the 3-pointer to break the tie, sparking an 8-2 Miami run to end the game. James had that free throw with a hair over one second left for the magical 50- point plateau, but missed, and he muttered something to himself. "Thats the first time Ive been disappointed in myself in a win," said James. "It definitely wont take away from the fact it was a huge game for us, being able to win this ball game. "But it was a free throw. I hate missing free throws." Now the series shifts back to South Beach, where the Heat are 4-0 this postseason. Brooklyn took both regular-season meetings in Miami and this veteran-laden squad isnt booking tee times just yet. "The series is far from over," said Pierce. "Weve got to go down there, try to get one game and force the series back at home. Just one, weve just got to get one game. Thats the mindset." Miami will try to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the fourth straight season. If necessary, Game 6 would be Friday night in Brooklyn. Kansas City, MO (SportsNetwork. Wholesale Arizona Cardinals Jerseys .com) - You could barely see Madison Bumgarner when it was all over. The San Francisco Giants ace, after punctuating one of the great postseason performances in any sport, was lost in a swarm of teammates near the mound. Some of them stopped first to congratulate Pablo Sandoval, who was on his back after catching the last out. At the edge of the celebration, Buster Posey dropped to his knees, a smile on the catchers face showing both happiness and relief. This is some dynasty, and it almost unraveled on an error. Bumgarner pitched five scoreless innings out of the bullpen to earn another win and the Giants held on to beat the Kansas City Royals 3-2 in Game 7 on Wednesday night, capturing their third World Series title in five years. With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, after Bumgarner had retired 14 batters in a row, Alex Gordon sliced a hit into left-center field that bounced past Gregor Blanco and went to the wall. Left fielder Juan Perez bobbled the ball on the warning track and Gordon made it all the way to third on a two-base error. Im not sure what happened. I didnt see it, Bumgarner said. But I was starting to get a little nervous. He was digging around a little bit and its a big outfield. It was a little nerve-racking. But the 25-year-old Bumgarner buckled down to throw six fastballs to Salvador Perez, who popped up into foul territory near third base, where Sandoval squeezed the ball before falling onto his back. Relief, said Bruce Bochy, who has managed each of these three championship teams. Because anything can happen -- a bloop, a wild pitch. Theres a man on third base there and (Bumgarner) just made some great pitches. Bumgarner pitched on just two days rest after throwing a four-hit shutout in Game 5 on Sunday and was named World Series MVP after getting his third win of the series. He threw 21 innings, also winning Game 1, and gave up just one run, nine hits and one walk with 17 strikeouts. Sandoval, due to be a free agent, reached base all four times he was up in Game 7 and scored twice, including the go-ahead run on Michael Morses single back in the fourth inning. Sandoval had three hits, giving him an MLB-record 26 this postseason. The Royals were trying to win the franchises first World Series title in 29 years and came up one win short. They forced a Game 7 with Tuesdays 10-0 blowout, extending their magical season for another day, but scored their only runs Wednesday in the second inning. Cheap Larry Fitzgerald Jersey . Tanoh Kpassagnon Youth Jersey . The defeat leaves the 41-year-old Nestor to concentrate on the mixed-doubles event after winning 12 straight matches and winning Australian titles in Brisbane and Sydney with two different partners. "They played really well, very aggressive. We started slow and that probably gave them confidence." The match lasted just 64 minutes, with Zimonjic losing serve twice in the opening sat. Nestor, holder of a record 83 career doubles titles, was unable to carry the entire load as he and Zimonjic re-united this season after a few seasons with other partners. Nestors team lost to an unseeded team which has knocked out Australian Patrick Rafter and Lleyton Hewitt plus the world No. 1 Bryan brothers from the United States. "We didnt assert ourselves and thats what the top teams should do," said Nestor. "On paper we were the best team remaining in the semifinals. "This was a chance lost to possibly win a Grand Slam -- and who knows when we might get that chance again." SAN ANTONIO -- About an hour after the season ended, Chris Bosh was standing near the bus ramp from where the Miami Heat would soon depart for the airport and the off-season. Tim Williams Youth Jersey . Miamis two-year reign was over. And Bosh almost sounded relieved. The Heat got rolled in the NBA Finals by San Antonio, losing in five games, the last three of them lopsided, and for the first time since 2011 there would be no championship parade in Miami. The same team that the Heat wore down in the 2013 finals had all the answers, ushering in a summer for Miami that will be filled with questions about the futures of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Bosh. "I dont think anybody really enjoyed this season like in years past," Bosh told The Associated Press. "There was no, like, genuine joy all the time. It seemed like work. It was a job the whole year. Winning was just a relief. Losing was a cloud over us sometimes and then wed break out of it -- and then go right back. But we got here. We had a chance. They were just better." That being said, and while hardly committing to a fifth season of the "Big 3" era in Miami, Bosh made it clear: The group wants to remain intact. Whether or not personal choices and financial realities of a salary-capped, luxury-taxed world will allow that to happen remain unclear. "We want to stay together, man," Bosh said. "Ill say that. Its a great organization, great team and great city. And to have a chance, thats all you can ask for." James insisted he hasnt thought about what decisions he has to make this summer. Wade has often expressed interest in remaining with the Heat. Bosh has said repeatedly that he wants to stay. But all can become free agents in the next couple weeks, and the Heat might be rooting for that to happen. By opting out, they could get new deals with the Heat and create financial flexibility for team president Pat Riley to lure new pieces into a locker room that will need new faces. "The whole league continues to get better every single year," James said. "Obviously we would need to get better from every facet, every position. Its just how the league works." For as well as he played in Game 5 -- 31 points and 10 rebounds in what would be the final game of Miamis run as champion -- James best display of defence came afterward, when pressed repeatedly about his future. "I will deal with my summer when I get to that point," James said. "Me and my team will sit down and deal with it. I love Miami. My family loves it. But obviously right now thats not even what Im thinking about. You guys are trying to find answers. Im not going to give you one." The Heat arent expected to hold exit interviews until later this week. James and Wade shared the postgame podium Sunday, possibly for the last time. Wade seemed to be labouring in the last two games of the finals, shooting just 28 per cent from the floor and 50 per cent from the foul line. "It wasnt just Dwyane," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said when asked about Wades struggles. "It was pretty much everybody except for LeBron." Wades knees and health have been a concern all year, never more than in the finals. "Im all right," Wade said. "Cant win them all. You try to, but you cant win them all." The Heat have known for four years that this summer of decisions and possible changes was looming, and have planned accordingly. Besides the "Big 3," the locker room is filled with free-agents-in-waiting. Chris Andersen, who excelled for little money the last two seasons, will be getting a raise from someone. Mario Chalmers can leave, Ray Allen isnt sure if hell play in Miami or anywhere else, Shane Battier is retiring and Udonis Haslem -- who has been with the Heat for 11 seasons, just like Wade -- also has an uncertain future. "It wasnt a distraction," Haslem said. " We got here. And if someone had told me when I signed on the dotted line that Id go to four straight finals, Id take it." The Spurs dont see the Heat going anywhere. "Theyre a class act and theyll be back next year for sure," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "I dont think anybody would really doubt that." Bosh can only hope hes right. "I see why people were saying three-peating is hard. I get it now," Bosh said. "I get it. Theres just so many other things you have to fight. The human psyche, the human condition. Were all human. And it was a long, tough season." Nico Siragusa Jersey . In a decision released on Thursday, Judge Pablo Ruz stated there was enough evidence to merit charges over Neymars 57 million-euro (then $77 million) move from Santos last summer. "The economic quantities paid by FC Barcelona to Santos for the sporting rights of the player and paid to other entities associated to the player means the player could have profited from the deal (...) and should be taxed on that income," the statement from the Madrid court read. "Contracts between the signatories of the agreement may have been simulated, which would contradict the actual cause and purpose to the commitments and obligations set forth in these documents regarding the economic and formal aspects of the signed contracts." The decision comes a day after public prosecutor Jose Perals charged Barcelona with fabricating contracts and using "financial engineering" to defraud the Spanish Treasury. Ruz is also investigating former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell over the deal, which came to court after club member Jordi Cases, a pharmacist from the town of Olesa neear Barcelona, filed a lawsuit. Chris Wormley Womens Jersey. Rosell quit soon after it emerged 40 million euros ($55 million) of the transfer was paid to a firm operated by Neymars father, who has been called on to present documentation. Barcelona has denied the charges, while Neymar took to social media before the judges decision to vent about the situation his family finds itself in. "Im tired of this crap. Im a fan of my father and Ill always be grateful for having taken me to where I am today," Neymar wrote on his official Instagram page, "and if he made millions over that, whats the problem? "It worked, the money was not expected to just fall from the sky." Neymars father, who also goes by Neymar, has denied any wrongdoing and said all of his companies -- four are listed in the court documents -- are legally set up to pay taxes in Brazil. Rosell resigned in January after the court decided to hear the lawsuit brought by Cases alleging misappropriation of funds and using false contracts to hide the true cost of Neymars transfer to the club. Neymar has 11 goals in 26 appearances since his move to Barcelona, which is top of the Spanish league, in the last 16 of the Champions League, and through to the Copa del Rey final. Zobrist doubled with two on to drive in the first two runs and scored on a single by David DeJesus. Buchholz hit Evan Longoria with a pitch and was replaced by Tommy Layne, whose wild pitch allowed both runners to advance and score easily when James Loney added a single. Add a new starting goaltender in Jonathan Bernier and two veteran grinders, David Clarkson and Dave Bolland, and it seemed the Leafs were ready to surge beyond the first round of the playoffs. Yet, the Leafs game 7 collapse against the Bruins in 2013 turned out be a microcosm of the 2013-2014 campaign.Sitting a safely in a playoff spot late in the season, the Leafs travelled to California for a road trip; the team defeated the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings to put themselves at a 90% chance of making the playoffs. To the amazement of many, the Leafs then dropped eight straight games –and 12 of their final 14- before falling well out of the playoffs. The Flames were simply using this season to allow their young players to gain experience and finish with a high draft pick. Yet, the success of young players such as Sean Monahan and a breakout campaign from Mikael Backlund have given Flames fans hope for the future, something many fans in Canada dont seem to have right now.In the end, the Flames line brawl against the Canucks will likely live as the most memorable moment in a forgettable 2013-2014.GIF credit: TumblrGIF credit: TumblrFinally, we have the Edmonton Oilers, who have once again taken their place in the leagues basement despite being overloaded with young talent. The Oilers seemed to have more promise than ever entering this season after signing the hottest coaching name, Dallas Eakins, and adding Andrew Ference to lead the teams young core from the blue line. Yet, despite a new coach and new captain, the Oilers once again struggled to compete and were forced to make moves for their future rather than moves to help a playoff push. The Oilers additions of goaltenders Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth seemed to be a step in the right direction, however another season of "maybe next year" angered even the most patient of Edmonton fans. Ames, IA - Bryce Petty threw for 336 yards and a touchdown and scored twice on the ground, as No. Jalen Reeves-Maybin Youth Jersey . 7 Baylors top-ranked offense put up another big number in a 49-28 win over Iowa State on Saturday. With a couple of receivers back from injury, Petty completed 30-of-44 passes -- also throwing his first interception of the season -- and Shock Linwood rushed for 82 yards and three touchdowns for the Bears (4-0, 1-0 Big 12), who were coming off a bye week after winning their first three games by a combined score of 178-27. Corey Coleman played after sitting out the first three games with a hamstring injury and caught 12 passes for 154 yards and a score. Antwan Goodley, last seasons leading receiver, appeared for the first time since injuring a quad in Week 1 and had six catches for 114 yards. Baylor coach Art Briles said the plan was to throw the ball 60 times. We wanted to throw the football, he said. We felt that it fit our personnel well tonight. Sam Richardson was 17-of-39 for 212 yards and two touchdowns for the Cyclones (1-3, 0-2) and also rushed for 99 yards and a score. Baylor entered the game leading the nation in yards and points per game and ripped off 601 yards on 97 plays. The Bears also had the No. 2 scoring defense -- no big feat against their first three opponents: SMU, FCS Northwestern State and Buffalo. They ran their school-record home winning streak to 13 games, tops in the country by one game over Alabama and Northern Illinois, who were both idle this week. Baylor took an early 14-0 lead on rushing touchdowns by Linwood from two yards and Petty from 16. The Cyclones cut the deficit in half before the end of the first quarter on Dondre Daleys 11-yard touchdown catch. I think we all would agree thats a very good Baylor football team that we watched tonight. They will represent the Big 12 Conference well as the season goes along, said Iowa State coach Paul Rhoads. Im very pleased with the way our guys came out and played in the second half and quite honestly pleased with the way we finished up the first quarter. One of our goals was to start positively and we did that. Being 14-7 at the end of the first quarter gave us the opportunity to compete in this ballgame and we didnt follow that up in the second quarter. Richardson was under pressure early in the second quarter when he attempted a left-handed throw near the sideline. It was picked off by safety Orion Stewart and Petty connected with Coleman on a 25-yard touchdown pass four plays later to make it 21-7. Pettys first interception of the year came when he threw past Lynx Hawthorne and into the arms of T.J. Mutcherson. Baylor poked it loose from Mutchersons hands, but Iowa State fell on the ball. The Cyclones punted and Linwood followed with a 24-yard touchdown. Jeffersons 12-yard score later in the second quarter extended Baylors lead to 35-7 going into halftime. Richardson found a hole in the line for a 47-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, but Baylor responded with Linwoods 7-yard score at the other end to keep a 28-point lead. Petty added a 1-yard score while Aaron Wimberly had a 1-yard touchdown run and Tad Ecby caught a 51-yard touchdown pass from Richardson for Iowa States last points. Game Notes Iowa State matched a season high with a 92-yard scoring drive in the first quarter ... Daley scored his first career touchdown ... EDMONTON -- The Portland Winterhawks were down, but they were able to keep from going out. Keegan Iverson scored the overtime winner as the Winterhawks erased a three-goal, third-period deficit to snap a three-game losing skid and defeat the Edmonton Oil Kings 6-5 on Sunday, sending the Western Hockey League championship to a seventh game. Portland trailed 5-2, but battled back to tie the game. The Winterhawks completed the comeback when Iverson tipped a Dominic Turgeon shot past Edmonton goalie Tristan Jarry 7:23 into overtime. "Thats definitely the biggest goal of my life," Iverson said. "I was just in shock when I scored. "Its been such an unbelievable series. Its been crazy. Its going to be quite the final game." The seventh and deciding game of the WHL final will take place Monday in Portland. Mathew Dumba had a pair of goals and Anton Cederholm, Keoni Texeira and Derrick Pouliot also scored for the Winterhawks, who had dropped three straight after owning a 2-0 advantage to start the best-of-seven finals. Prior to the three losses in the finals, the Winterhawks had only lost three games in their previous 45 outings. "We knew we just had to stick with it," said Portland head coach Mike Johnston. "We have the ability to score and have built that confidence throughout the year. Our guys were great. They played through it. It was a great character win. Its unusual to look at a scoresheet and see five defencemen scoring like we had tonight." Dumba credited goalie Corbin Boes, who was pulled after the first period, for firing the team up before the comeback. "He gave one of the most inspiring speeches I have ever heard," Dumba said. "He stood up like a 20-year-old should and made a great speech. He said he had never been on a team that is so tightly-knit like this and he wanted to keep it going. He believed in all of us and he got really emotional and I think it hit home with all of us. Just talking about it now gives me chills." Henrik Samuelsson and Edgars Kulda each had two-goal games and Curtis Lazar also scored for the Oil Kings, who lost for the first time at home in the playoffs, dropping to 10-1. "Its the old story, you have to play 60 minutes and we played about 35 before we sat back a bit," said Oil Kings head coach Derek Laxdal. "It is what it is. We are headed to a Game 7. It didnt look very good for us coming back from being down 2-0 in the series and our mindset has to be that we will take another chance to win this tomorrow." Edmonton captain Griffin Reinhart agreed that his team missed out on an opportunity, but can take solace in having one more chance. "We got the lead and were maybe a llittle bit too comfortable," he said. Teez Tabor Jersey. "We played not to lose rather than to win. It is a tough loss, but tomorrow is a new day and we have to bounce back. "I think our adrenaline is going to be big tomorrow. Its a seven-game series for a reason." Ten WHL finals have gone to a seventh game, and not one has been captured by the visiting team. Edmonton carried over the momentum from their previous three wins to get off to a great start in front of a WHL playoff-high crowd of 11,902 at Rexall Place. The Oil Kings took a 1-0 lead five minutes into the first period with a power-play goal. A Dysin Mayo shot hit Mitch Moroz on the way to the net and Samuelsson was able to poke his seventh of the playoffs past Boes. Samuelsson notched his second goal of the game 1:26 later as Moroz forced a turnover deep in Portland territory and sent it across the ice. Samuelsson blasted the puck off of Boes glove and in to put the Oil Kings up 2-0. Edmonton took a three-goal advantage with 51 seconds remaining in the first period as Kuldas shot found its way through a maze of players and into the Portland net. Brendan Burke came in to replace Boes in the Portland net to start the second period. Portland got on the board less than four minutes into the second as Dumbas point blast beat Jarry on a 5-on-3 man advantage. The Winterhawks made it 3-2 with seven minutes left in the second as Cederholm came down the left side and picked the top corner with a wrist shot. Just 45 seconds after Portlands goal, Edmontons Reid Petryk picked off a pass and sent a backhander to Lazar, and the Ottawa Senators prospect scored his ninth of the playoffs. Less than a minute later, Edmonton made it 5-2 as Mayo made a long lead pass to give Kulda a breakaway, and he beat Burke stick side for his second of the game. The Winterhawks cut Edmontons lead to two goals again with Dumbas second goal, also on the power play goal three minutes into the third. Portland made it 5-4 with 14 minutes remaining as De Leo put a puck on net and Texeira got it under Jarry and into the net. The Hawks tied the game with just under nine minutes left as Pouliot blew the puck past Jarry to eventually send the game to overtime. Notes: Its the third consecutive season that the Oil Kings and Winterhawks have met in the WHL Championship Series. Edmonton defeated Portland in seven games to win in 2012, while Portland won in six games last year. a It is just the second time in league history that two teams have met in the WHL final three years in a row. The last time was when the original Edmonton Oil Kings (who ended up moving to Portland to become the Winterhawks) played the Flin Flon Bombers three times from 1969-71. TEMPE, Ariz. Zay Jones Jersey . -- Jake Waters threw for 271 yards and connected with Tyler Lockett on three touchdowns, leading Kansas State to its first bowl victory in 11 years, 31-14 over Michigan in the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl on Saturday night. Kansas State (8-5) scored on its first three possessions, all touchdown passes from Waters to Lockett, and its defence dominated Michigan to end a five-game bowl losing streak. Lockett set a school record with 10 catches for 116 yards and Waters completed 21 of 27 passes, sending the Wildcats to their first bowl victory since the 2002 Holiday Bowl. Freshman Shane Morris was steady in place of injured starter Devin Gardner, leading Michigan (7-6) on two early scoring drives. The Wolverines settled for field goals on both and did little the rest of the way, finishing with 261 total yards. Morris threw for 196 yards on 24-of-38 passing with an interception before leading Michigan on a late scoring drive with the game out of reach. Michigans defence also had trouble stopping Kansas State most of the night, giving up 420 total yards Kansas State finished the season strong after some early difficulties -- starting with a home loss to FCS North Dakota State -- winning five of its final six games while scoring at least 31 points in each. Michigan limped to the finish after a 5-0 start, losing five of its final seven games and Gardner along the way. The senior injured his toe in the regular-season finale against Ohio State and didnt recover in time for the bowl game, leaving the Wolverines in the hands of Morris. The freshman hasnt played much over the past year, limited to four games as a high school senior due to mononucleosis and to nine pass attempts as Gardners backup this season. Morris didnt seem to mind being thrust into the spotlight as the first Michigan quarterback to make his first career start in a bowl game. He was helped by a conservative game plan filled with short throws early and started unleashing his big left arm by Michigans second drive, completing 15 of 19 passes for 121 yards in the first half. The problem for the Wolverines was they couldnt finish off drives, settling for field goals of 22 and 26 yards by Matt Wile. That was good for Wile, who made one field goal all season, but not for Michigan since its defence couldnt seem to stop the Wildcats -- particularly the Waters-to-Lockett combination. Kansas State set the tone on its opening drive, grinding out 75 yards in 15 plays and 7:51 off the clock. Lockett capped it with a 6-yard touchdown catch after the Wildcats line gave Waters just enough time to get the throw off against Michigans blitz. Lockett set up the next drive with a 40-yard kickoff return and capped with a 29-yard touchdown catch, set up by Waters pump fake that gave him separation behind Michigans defence. Kansas State raced down the field again on its next drive, setting up Locketts third touchdown, an 8-yarder from Waters that put the Wildcats up 21-6 at halftime. The Wildcats bogged down in the second half, but so did the Wolverines. Michigan had 23 total yards in the third quarter and failed to capitalize on the games first turnover -- a fumble by Daniel Sams -- by going three-and-out. Kansas States Ian Anderson hit a 22-yard field goal in the fourth quarter, John Hubert scored on a 1-yard run after Morris interception and the Wildcats celebrated Bill Snyders seventh bowl victory by chasing the 74-year-old coach down the sideline for a water-bucket dump. But he also knows his former head coach made him a better player. Ryan, now with the Ottawa Senators, played under Carlyle for parts of five years with the Anaheim Ducks. Carlyle is now coaching the Toronto Maple Leafs and the two will face each another in a pre-season game in Ottawa on Thursday. The 26-year-old Ryan, acquired in a trade from Anaheim July 5, is anxious to make a name for himself with the Senators and isnt interested in dwelling on the past. When asked about his relationship with Carlyle, Ryan said it may have been misunderstood. "It wasnt a bad relationship, it just wasnt a great one," said Ryan. "Thats all it was. Hes a tough coach and I still really do owe him quite a bit for becoming the player that I am and that isnt lost on me one bit." Ryan first arrived in Anaheim as an eager 20-year-old looking to live up to his second-overall selection in the draft. But after just four games in the NHL, he was sent down to the American Hockey League and ended up playing just 23 games with Anaheim. Over the next 3 1/2 years, Ryan and Carlyle had their share of disagreements. Looking back, Ryan admits he may not have had the emotional maturity to deal with Carlyle. Some believed the animosity between the two became so bad that it played a factor in Carlyle being fired after just 24 games in the 2011-12 season. "I get sometimes he was a little too hard on me and that was just being young and not taking things the right way thats all it was," said Ryan. "I dont think it was any reason that he was let go or anything like that. I just wish I hadnt taken things so personally when it came across. Thats all it was. I truthfully dont think he had anything but the best intentions for me in his mind." Known for his abrasive style, Carlyle isnt one to mince words. Ryan described him as demanding and tough, but in the same breath said he was fair and that he "wants to get the best out of you." "I probably took things a little too personally, but Ive gotten older and a little more mature," said Ryan. "We are not going to say hello or anything, but it certainly wont be somethingg where Im aiming a puck at the bench thats for sure. Tre Davious White Jersey. quot; When asked about Ryan, the Leafs coach also chose to leave any ill will behind the two in the past. "I think Bobby was a young kid that had a different body make-up from what he is now," said Carlyle. "He put (in) a lot of time and effort, and its a tribute to him to get himself in the type of condition that he is now versus where he came out of junior." He called him a "very talented young player." "Hes a player thats dangerous as soon as he steps over the blue-line in the offensive zone," he said. "He can score from all areas, and hes got a tremendous amount of reach and skill. Hes an offensive weapon that well have to deal with, and Bobbys growing into a pretty mature hockey player both on and off the ice." If anyone understands the rift between Ryan and Carlyle its Torontos Joffrey Lupul, who had his own share of difficulties with Carlyle while playing in Anaheim. Lupul doesnt anticipate Carlyles presence to play a part in Ryans performance. "Im sure hes got enough motivation," said Lupul. "He was traded, playing for a new team in a hockey market now. Hes probably quite a motivated player this year." As for Ryan, hes looking forward to playing his first game in front of home crowd fans, by all indications, have been anxiously awaiting his debut. "Im looking forward to getting it out of the way," he said. "The excitements been building in the city and for myself for a long time. Hopefully we can reward them with a good game." Ryan has only played in the Canadian Tire Centre once in his career so he expects it may take some time for him to get comfortable. "Youre always supposed to feel comfortable at home," said Ryan. "If I can get a couple games here and start to build that comfort level here in this building its important if youre going to play 41 games in this building." The Toronto Blue Jays will turn to righty Dustin McGowan tonight against Corey Kluber and the Cleveland Indians. Jarrad Davis Lions Jersey . McGowan has won his last two decisions and is 2-1 on the year with a 4.63 ERA. He did not get a decision his last time out, though, despite a decent effort against the Los Angeles Angels that saw him allow two runs in five innings of his teams 4-3 loss. "I got through it," McGowan said. "But I didnt have my slider, so luckily the changeup got me through. It was one of those games where you give it everything you can and see what happens." McGowan has never beaten the Indians, going 0-2 with an 11.05 ERA in four games (3 starts). Cleveland right-hander Kluber lost to the Blue Jays back on April 6. Since then, though, hes been one of the best pitchers in baseball. Kluber looks for another strong start on tonight as the Indians continue a three-game set with the Blue Jays. Since surrendering five runs in 6 2/3 innings in that loss to the Blue Jays, Kluber has gone 2-1 with a 1.91 ERA and 38 strikeouts in four starts since. He defeated the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday, as he limited them to a pair of runs and nine hits in 6 2/3 innings to run his record to 3-3, while lowering his ERA to 3.48. "Ive felt good out there recently, so I was trying to not really change anything," Kluber said. "Just go out there and continue to pound the strike zone and attack guys." Cleveland lost for the ninth time in 11 road tries on Tuesday, as Juan Francisco homered and had two RBI to help Toronto to a 5-4 win. Adam Lind also knocked in two and Melky Cabrera added the other RBI for the Blue Jays, who have won two straight. Toronto starter R.A. Dickey (4-3) scattered four hits over six-plus innings, allowing four runs -- two earned -- with six strikeouts. Casey Janssen pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his first save of the season. "The good news is I feel like Im pounding the zone and pitching to contact," said Dickey. "I had a great knuckleball, but I am not making it easy on myself or my team in the later innings." The Blue Jays have homered in 17 of their 19 home games this season. Nick Swisher drove in a pair for Cleveland, which saw starter Justin Masterson (2-2) take the loss after surrendering five runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings. "First time through the order went really well," said Indians manager Terry Francona of Masterson. "He got a couple balls up that they stayed on pretty well. We just couldnt get one big hit." Cleveland had won five of six overall entering this series. Toronto took two of three from the Tribe earlier in the year. Jalen Reeves-Maybin Lions Jersey . Sociedad forward Carlos Vela chipped goalkeeper Jaime Jimenez after receiving an equally exquisite lobbed pass from Ruben Pardo to set him up in the 23rd minute at Anoeta Stadium. With one emotional hurdle cleared, Doc Rivers and the Los Angeles Clippers have to get back to business tonight when they visit the Brooklyn Nets. You can watch the game as part of an NBA doubleheader on TSN2, starting at 8pm et/5pm pt. Later, the Portland Trail Blazers host the Houston Rockets. Rivers returned to Boston as the Clippers coach on Wednesday, and although he guided his Los Angeles squad to a 96-88 victory at TD Garden, it was an emotional evening. Rivers spent nine seasons at the helm of the Boston Celtics, leading them to an NBA title in 2008. While his split this offseason wasnt without some acrimony, the Boston faithful gave Rivers a standing ovation before the game and once again during a video tribute between the first and second quarters. "It was just a really nice day," said a highly emotional Rivers. "This is, its just such a classy place here. So it was really nice when I walked out and, you know Im not used to walking out on that side, and all those guys, the people, they lined up and I was basically useless for the first 18 minutes of the game. "I thought, it was just nice." The Clippers overcame a six-point halftime deficit with a 27-19 third quarter. They held on with a 30-24 fourth to earn their second consecutive win and push their mark to 3-2 on this seven-game road trip. Jamal Crawford came up huge down the stretch, netting 11 of his 21 points in the fourth. Chris Paul tallied 22 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in the triumph while Blake Griffin scored 18 points. Antawn Jamison hit a 3-pointer in the second quarter to go over 20,000 points in his career and the newest Clipper, Stephen Jackson, went scoreless in 12:18 of action. The Clippers finish this road trip Saturday night in Washington. Brooklyn also features some nostalgia for Rivers in former Celtics stars Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Those two, along with Ray Allen, were the centerpieces of the Boston title team, but the Nets already visited the Clippers this season, so Rivers has seen both. The Nets have won two in a row, including a home victory over the Celtics on Tuesday. Deron Williams returned from a nine-game absence and scored a season-high 25 points to go with seven assists. "Hes a guy who can put pressure with a single fast break," Nets head coach Jason Kidd said of Williams. "Just his presence gave everybody a lift." Brook Lopez scored 24 points and Alan Anderson added 15. Garnett and Andray Blatche finished with 11 apiece. Pierce returned earlier than expected from a hand injury. He played 22:14 off the bench Tuesday and had four points, all from the foul line. It was the first time Pierce and Garnett played their old team. "Its different," Garnett said of facing the Celtics. "But no matter whos playing on that team, Ill always have an affiliation with that." The Clippers downed the Nets, 110-103 in L.A. on Nov. 16 and have won three of the last five meetings. The Clippers have dropped five straigght as the visitors in this series. Jalen Reeves-Maybin Jersey. Rockets at Trail Blazers (TSN2, 10:30pm et/7:30pm pt) The Portland Trail Blazers will try to avenge one of their two home losses this season when they welcome the Houston Rockets to the Moda Center. The Rockets knocked off the Blazers, 116-101, in Portland on Nov. 5. Of course, the Blazers were an ordinary 2-2 after that setback. No one in the NBA expected whats happened since, which is a 16-2 record, including wins in five of their last six. Portland earned a tough victory in Salt Lake City Monday night, defeating the Utah Jazz, 105-94. It was an off night shooting the 3-pointer for the Blazers, but Portland scored 44 points in the paint. "With our offense, I want us to be opportunistic with whatever the game gives us," head coach Terry Stotts said. "If it gives us 3s, we knock them down. If it gives us the paint, thats good too with LaMarcus on the block. One thing weve done well with offensively is we take what the game gives us." Aldridge, the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week, was the game- high scorer with 24 points. Damian Lillard finished with 18 points, followed by 16 from Wesley Matthews. Robin Lopez registered a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Nicolas Batum only managed seven points, but handed out 11 assists. Portland will embark on a four-game eastern trip following Thursdays game. The Blazers visit Philadelphia, Detroit, Cleveland and Minnesota on the sojourn. The Rockets have won two straight since losing two in a row. They begin a three-game trek west and will also head to Golden State and Sacramento. Houston received some great news at practice on Tuesday as Jeremy Lin was a full participant. He hasnt played in almost two weeks with a right knee sprain, but declared himself ready to go for Thursday night. "I feel good, no limitations," Lin told the teams website. "Ill be back (for Thursdays game). Im full go. (I might need) a little conditioning, or maybe Im not jumping as high off of that right foot, but I never really jumped that high off the right foot, anyway." Lin averaged 15.3 ppg before the injury. Omer Asik and Greg Smith both missed practice and are expected to miss the Portland game. Chandler Parsons was a limited participant because of back spasms, but hes going to play Thursday. Houston won two in a row at home, highlighted by a 98-88 victory on Sunday over the Orlando Magic. James Harden dumped in 27 points with 10 assists and eight rebounds, while Dwight Howard scored 20 points and grabbed 22 rebounds against his former team. "I just wanted to get the win tonight," Howard said. "Im just happy our team came out tonight, settled down and played basketball." Parsons had 18 points and Terrence Jones had a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The Rockets have won three straight over the Blazers and seven of the last nine meetings. Houston has won two in a row and five of six in Portland. Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

The Colorado Avalanche and centre Ryan OReilly avoided salary arbitration on Wednesday, agreeing to terms on a two-year contract. Cheap Ezekiel Elliott Jersey . TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger reports that the deal pays him $5.8 million next season and $6.2 million in 2015-16. "We are pleased to have Ryan under contract," said Avalanche Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Joe Sakic in a team statement. "We are looking at the upcoming training camp and season with a lot of excitement." The 23-year-old scored 28 goals and added 36 assists in 80 games with the Avalanche in 2013-14. Originally selected by the Avalanche in the second round (33rd overall) in 2009, OReilly has scored 73 goals and 118 assists in 345 career games with the club. OReilly made $6.5 million last season in the second year of a back-end-loaded contract worth an average annual value of $5 million. The deal arose out of the Avalanches decision to match an offer sheet OReilly signed with the Calgary Flames prior to the lockout-shortened 2012-13 NHL season. Despite that move, Sakic maintains that there are no ill feelings between OReilly and management. "There was never any animosity between us this whole time," he told Adrian Dater of The Denver Post on Wednesday. "Any of the perceived animosity came from the outside." MONTREAL -- Playing against one of the top NHL teams brought out the best in the Canadiens. Montreal limited the Blackhawks, the leagues most potent offence, to only 20 shots on net in its 2-1 overtime victory over Chicago. Chicago entered the Bell Centre with a league-best 165 goals scored this season, an average of 3.58 goals-per-game. Four of the leagues 15 best point-getters -- Patrick Kane, Patrick Sharp, Jonathan Toews and Duncan Keith -- play for the Blackhawks. The Canadiens shut them down on Saturday. "Thats what we wanted to do coming in," said Habs captain Brian Gionta. "They have a lot of offensive power, obviously, that you need to be aware of. We did a good job of handling them." Giontas line frustrated Chicagos big names all night. Keith and Kane were kept off the scoreboard, while Toews and Sharp were kept to a shot and an assist apiece. "It was a good test for us," said Gionta. "We responded right off the bat. We gave them the respect, but not too much. We played them hard, we knew what to expect, we came in with a game plan and stuck with it." The Canadiens outshot the Blackhawks 38-20, and delivered twice as many hits. Andrei Markov, who scored both goals for Montreal, including one in overtime, thought his team played their best game of the season. "Every time we play against a team like Chicago thats high in the standings, its a big challenge," said Markov. "And we responded well." The Blackhawks are currently in third place in the Western Conference. Markov took a deflected pass from Max Pacioretty and found the roof of the net at 1:28 of overtime to beat Montreal native Corey Crawford and secure the victory for the Canadiens. "We have to continue the same way," added Markov, who claimed he closed his eyes as he fired home his game-winner. "Thats our game. We have to try to play that game every night. If you play hard every game like tonight, success will be on your side." Crawford was otherwise outstanding in net for the Blackhawks (29-8-10), stopping 36-of-38 shots he faced in the loss. The 29-year-old missed nearly a month of play with a lower-body injury and is winless (0-1-3) since his return. But Crawford made key saves in the first period to preserve the scoreless draw after Chicago ran into penalty trouble, and made a freakish save at the end of the second to keep the deficit at one. "It was a great play," said head coach Joel Quenneville of his goaltenders spectacular save. "He stayed with it. He held his ground well, made a nice skate save. Whatever you want to call what he did ... it was nice to see." After a few close calls by the Blackhawks to start the second, including Sharp missing an open net high and wide, and Kane hitting the crossbar, Markov broke the deadlock at 12:54 for his fourth of the year. With six-foot-five Habs enforcer George Parros screening him, Crawford couldnt react quickly enough when Markovs wrist shot flew past his blocker. "I dont think so, I dont think so," repeated Parros when asked if he got his stick on it. "I wish it did. I knew I had a good screen on the goalie, so I just wanted to let it go through me and see what would happen." Parros has often been left out of the Canadiens lineup. He suffered two concussions this season, and only dressed in 10 games. He finished the game with a shot on net and a plus-1 rating. "Ive been looking for some positivity this year and I finally got some there," said Parros. "It was good to be part of a goal to help our team." Chicago found their equalizer at 9:22 of the third when Marian Hossa deflected Toews pass over Carey Prices outstretched pads. Sharp also got an assist on the goal. Bryan Bickell hit the post to Prices left with just over a minute to play in the third period before the game was sent to overtime. Price finished with 19 saves as Montreal improved to 26-15-5. "If you looked at statistics before the game, the advantage went to the Blackhawks," said head coach Michel Therrien. "But statistics are in the past. What matters to us is tonights game. We can control the present. We can focus on the present." The Canadiens have now won six in a row against the Blackhawks as the host team. Chicagos last win in Montreal was on Dec. 3, 2001. MYRTLE BEACH, S. Cheap John Elway Jersey .C. -- Karen Paolozzi became the second female player to make the cut in the PGA Professional National Championship, and University of Toledo coach Jamie Broce took the second-round lead in windy conditions Monday. Playing from tees in front of the men, Paolozzi followed her opening 75 at Grande Dunes with a 71 at The Dunes -- the site of the final two rounds -- to move into a tie for 31st at 2 over. Suzy Whaley was the first women to make the cut in 2005 at Kiawah Island. A former Indiana University player, the 31-year-old Paolozzi is a PGA assistant professional at Druid Hills in Atlanta. "This is exactly what my goal was," Paolozzi said. "I wanted to make the cut. I wanted to come here and play well. I was a little disappointed after yesterday, but I knew if I put in a solid round today, I had a chance." The 37-year-old Broce had an even-par 72 at Grande Dunes to take a one-stroke lead over Ryan Helminen. Broce had a 4-under 140 total. "Yesterday, the conditions were a little more benign, but today was a lot different. The wind kept you uneasy," Broce said. "I just got into a plan to hang in there and survive. I got away with a couple bad swings and was able to come back. I just plan to have fun and play golf the next two days and see what happens." Helminen, the PGA teaching professional at Ridgeway in Neenan, Wisconsin, overcame double bogeys on his fifth and sixth holes at Grande Dunes for a 73. "I got a lot out of that round," Helminen said. "When youre 5 over through six holes and going the wrong way and you make a birdie and some par-saving putts, it lifts your spirits." The top 20 Wednesday will get spots in the PGA Championship in August at Valhalla in Louisville, Kentucky. Paolozzi isnt eligible to earn a spot in the PGA Championship because she didnt play from the mens tees last fall when she qualified in the Northern Ohio PGA Section Championship. Thats what he did over the past 2 1/2 years with the Washington Wizards. Wittmans approach helped turn the Wizards from pushover to playoff winners. Now hell have a chance to stick around following a 44-38 season, a 15-win improvement from last year, after the Wizards gave him a contract extension. "I think over the last couple of years what weve begun to establish here, continuity I think is important," Wittman said Wednesday in the hallway near the practice court at the Verizon Center. "Im appreciative of the opportunity to continue on." The Wizards reached the playoffs for the first time since 2008 and won their first post-season series since 2005. They accomplished it in the final year of Wittmans contract and under a preseason mandate to make the playoffs from owner Ted Leonsis. "I was here when it was not pretty. When you see it change, when you see the things that youve implemented begin to work, you want to continue on," the 54-year-old Wittman said. Wittman guided the Wizards to a first-round win over the Chicago Bulls before losing in six games to the top-seeded Indiana Pacers in their Eastern Conference semifinal. "Over the last 2 1/2 years really, Randy has established a great culture, a hard-working culture, a defensive-oriented team," Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld said. "Weve been a top-10 defensive team in the league the last two years. Weve made good progress. We still have a lot of work ahead of us, but were headded in the right direction. Cheap Brandon McManus Jersey. quot; Asked if retaining Wittman was an easy decision," Grunfeld stated," Yes, it was." Having already coached rebuilding squads with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Minnesota Timberwolves, Wittman took over as head coach when Flip Saunders was fired in January 2012. As was the case in those other spots, losses starting piling up in Washington. Wittman has the worst regular-season record of anyone who has coached at least 400 NBA games — 191-329, a .367 winning percentage — since the league started in 1946. "Job security is fleeting, as we all know in this business," said Wittman, who played in the NBA for nine seasons. "If you worry about it, youre not going to do your job well." With John Wall sidelined, the Wizards opened the 2012-13 season with a 4-28 record. When their point guard returned, Washington finished 24-25. With Wall healthy and turning into a first-time All-Star alongside backcourt partner Bradley Beal, Washington ended the 2013-14 season fifth in the Eastern Conference. Washington has plenty of decisions remaining. Two starters — centre Marcin Gortat and forward Trevor Ariza — are unrestricted free agents. Overall, 10 players are entering some level of free agency or the organization must decide whether to exercise a team option. Though Wittman and Grunfeld have stated a desire to the keep the core intact, the roster could certainly look different next season. But the man on the sideline will be familiar.
