BUFFALO – Randy Carlyle chose his words carefully. Nike Roshe One Print . "If I say what I wanted to say wed be reading that there would possibly be a nominal fine against the coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs so no comment on what was happening out there," Carlyle said with a large grin. A wild scrum in front of Ben Scrivens lasting seconds on end concluded with Jordan Leopold tying the score at five in the final seconds of regulation, the precursor to Derek Roy winning it in overtime as the desperate Sabres scratched back to beat the Leafs by a 6-5 final at First Niagara Center on Tuesday night. It was a game Buffalo had to have – its playoff hopes hanging in the balance – but one the Leafs had in their grips. Sporting a comfortable 3-0 lead after the opening frame (and 5-3 in the third), the Leafs "got a little satisfied" in their final trip down the QEW, eventually bested by a Sabres club fighting with every inch of desperation. A roster brimming with inexperienced talent – Scrivens, Joe Colborne, Matt Frattin, Jake Gardiner and Carter Ashton will all soon rejoin the Marlies for their playoff run – offered glimpses of its potential in defeat, the final result ultimately standing as a lesson for the road ahead. "Those are games we have to close out," Frattin said. "Youve got leads like that, doesnt matter who youre playing youve got to close those ones out. Those are the games we have to close out next year if we want to be a playoff contender and make the playoffs." Five Points 1. Frattin fired a one-time bullet past Ryan Miller for his second in as many games against the Sabres and eighth in 54 games this season. Asked a day earlier what hed learned in his rookie season about scoring in the NHL, Frattin offered a snapshot in simplicity. "I think just trying to hit the net," he told TSN.ca. "Theyve been kind of harping on me a little bit [to do that]. Getting quite a bit of chances, but Im just trying to be a little too precise and just pick the corners a little too much when its big goalies. I think the biggest thing is just getting pucks on net nice and quick and making the goalie make a save." A product of the University of North Dakota, Frattin also picked up another lesson from his first go-around in the league. "Probably how long the year is," he said. "In college youre working out all year. With NHL theres not much time to work out, like in between games. Its more of just stretching out and trying to recover your body because youre maintaining your muscle mass in games. Thats probably the biggest difference between college and the NHL; Ive already played close to double as many games as I did last year." Frattin played 44 games with the Fighting Sioux last season, totaling 75 a year later, split between the Leafs and Marlies. 2. The Edmonton native also added an assist on the first of two goals from Tyler Bozak, completing the Gordie Howe hat trick later in the period with his first career scrap against Marcus Foligno. Frattin surely earned points with both Carlyle and Leaf brass for his gutsy effort versus Foligno, who delivered a pair of thundering hits to the Leafs, the first on Gunnarsson – knocking him from the game – and the second on Bozak, inciting the fight. 3. Colborne returned to the Leafs for the first time since December, notching an assist in his first game under the new head coach. "I dont have quite the nerves that I had when I was called up last couple times," he said hours before game-time. "Im more excited just that I get a chance to show the new coaches what I can do." Colborne had been in the midst of a real slow spell offensively at the time of his call-up, totaling just two assists (zero goals) in the previous 19 games. "The pucks arent going in right now," he said a day earlier. "The chances are there; Ive been hitting different posts and generating chances, its just a matter of finishing. Ive been saving up for my time up here if I get a chance [Tuesday], break out in that way. But Im excited for the playoffs with the Marlies and hopefully well go for a long run. And like everyone in the management has been saying, its going to be huge for all the young guys confidence to learn how to go through a playoff stretch." 4. While the entire roster is under dutiful inspection by Carlyle, its the current crop of young talent who may have the most to gain in the final days of the regular season. Gearing toward the AHL playoffs, the likes of Colborne, Frattin, Gardiner, Scrivens and Ashton all hold a short window of opportunity to impress Carlyle ahead of training camp next fall. "I think all the young guys that they brought up are all auditioning for the new coaches and the management that have been watching us all year so itll be a good step forward," Colborne said before the game. In addition to the offensive contributions from Colborne and Frattin on Tuesday, the Leafs also received a YouTube-like goal from Gardiner, who circled the Buffalo net and a number of Sabre defenders before beating Miller far-side. 5. With a three-point night on Tuesday, Phil Kessel became the first Leaf to hit the 80-point plateau since Mats Sundin in 2001-02. Kessel has 37 goals, 44 assists and 81 points after 80 games this season, all three career-highs. "Hes been involved in a lot of goals," Carlyle said when questioned on Kessels underrated passing ability. "He has a special skill-set that he can create space out of nothing; those are the type of plays you become accustomed to when you see him do it every day." Bonus Points Clarke MacArthur snapped a 13-game drought with his 20th goal of the season. The 26-year-old has hit the 20-goal mark in each of the past two seasons...The Leafs had dropped nine of the previous 10 against the Sabres in Buffalo...Gunnarsson left the game one shift after the Foligno hit (12 seconds into the game) and did not return, sidelined with an upper-body injury...Mike Komisarek took his place alongside Dion Phaneuf, logging over 22 minutes...Bozak added an assist for the three-point night, also totaling nearly 23 minutes...Colborne finished 5-18 in the faceoff circle. Nike Roshe One Br .25 million in bonuses based on starts. The 30-year-old right-hander agreed to an $8 million, one-year contract with the Padres in November 2013 but got hurt during spring training and had elbow ligament-replacement surgery on April 24. The Gunners signed Campbell to a new contract before sending him to Villarreal on loan for the rest of the season on Tuesday, and they were able to finally lock down a move for Gabriel on Wednesday after a work permit was granted. Gabriel, 24, joins Arsenal in a deal worth a reported $17 million after he spent the past two seasons with Villarreal. I came from a club that is not that big in Brazilian football. I went to Spanish foootball and that was another dream come true, to play in Europe, said Gabriel, who started his professional career with Vitoria in Brazil. Nike Air Huarache Sverige. A while ago I had a really huge desire to play in the Premier League, so since that point I put it in my head that I really wanted to do it. I had a talk with my family and I told them that it was my dream to play in the Premier League. Getting here to such a big club is so gratifying. LOS ANGELES -- Prosecutors charged former NFL safety Darren Sharper on Friday with raping and drugging two women in California and disclosed he is under investigation in connection with five more drug-related rapes in three other states. Asics Tiger Mexico 66 Weiß Blau . Sharper briefly appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court, where his arraignment was postponed until Feb. 20 at the request of his lawyers. They issued a statement saying he would be exonerated. Prosecutors then filed a motion to increase Sharpers bail to $10 million and outlined details of investigations involving him in Las Vegas, Tempe, Ariz., and New Orleans. Sharper has not been charged in the other jurisdictions. In the bail motion, Los Angeles County Investigator John Maccharella described a pattern in which the former football star met women at clubs or parties and lured them to a hotel room, where they were allegedly drugged and raped. The motion says the incidents happened in the past five months, with two occurring within a day in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. After conferring with police in other jurisdictions, Maccharella said in the bail motion that the first assault followed an event for New Orleans Saints football players on Sept. 22, 2013. Maccharella said he was told a woman went to a New Orleans bar with Sharper, consumed an alcoholic beverage provided by him and blacked out. She awoke the next morning while being sexually assaulted, the bail motion stated, noting that an exam later showed Sharpers DNA was present. The Los Angeles charges were based on incidents on Oct. 30, 2013, and Jan. 14, 2014, beginning at a West Hollywood nightclub. Sharper allegedly met two women each time, invited them to a party then said he had to stop at his hotel. In the October incident, each woman was given a shot of an alcoholic beverage before blacking out, and one later awoke to find the other being sexually assaulted, the charging documents state. In January, a woman awoke and suspected she had been assaulted, the documents state. Similar scenarios played out on Jan. 15 in Las Vegas and on Nov. 20, 2013, in Arizona, the bail motion states. In Los Angeles, Sharper is facing two counts of rape by use of drugs, four counts of furnishing a controlled substance, and one count of possession of a controlled substance. The complaint alleges the drugs involved were morphine and zolpidem, which is sold under the brand name Ambien. Sharper was represented by prominent Los Angeles attorneys Blair Berk and Leonard Levine. "We look forward to the true facts being revealed in this case," Berk said after the brief court appearance. "And we are hopeful Mr. Sharper will be fully exonerated before this case is concluded." Sharper, 38, played in the NFL from 1997 to 2010, mostly with the Packers. Sharper was arrested on Jan. 17. He was allowed to remain free on $200,000 bail and ordered to surrender his passport. He has not entered a plea. Superior Court Judge Roberto Longoria did not immediately take up the bail motion. Sharpers lawyers refused to comment on the other investigations. If convicted in the California case, Sharper could face more than 30 years in state prison. Sharper was selected All-Pro six times and chosen for the Pro Bowl five times. He played in two Super Bowls, one with the Packers as a rookie and a second with the Saints. CATHARINES, Ont.MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. -- England and Honduras drew 0-0 in a fiery and physical final World Cup warm-up match that saw Honduras defender Brayan Beckeles sent off at Sun Life Stadium on Saturday. The weather was as wild as some of the action on the pitch in Miami Gardens, with the game halted midway through the first half for 45 minutes due to a lightning storm. England struggled to create scoring chances even with a man advantage, and the pressure will grow for Ross Barkley to start in Brazil after the 20-year-old midfielder raised the tempo when he came on at half time. "If you look at the chances we had the better, but were quite frustrated," captain Steven Gerrard said. "The ref was poor, the game was interrupted, there was a big one in the first half and they were doing stupid fouls. There was no rhythm. Were frustrated but relieved at no injuries. "There were some horrific tackles for a friendly. I got caught with a bad one." Beckeles, who had been booked for a lunge on Danny Welbeck, was shown a second yellow card in the 66th minute after catching Leighton Baines face with his elbow. "The lesson is we cant play with 10, we need to be more careful," Honduras coach Luis Fernando Suarez said through a translator. Honduras kicks off its World Cup campaign next Sunday against France, a day after England opens against Italy. The hot and humid conditions were exactly what England came to Miami for, but not the storm that worsened during the opening 20 minutes. Before the disruption, Wayne Rooneys free kick was spilled by Noel Valladares but no England player was primed to exploit the goalkeepers shakiness. And, when Rooney set up Daniel Sturridge, the striker sttruck wide on the turn. Asics Gel Kayano Trainer. Warning messages flashed up on stadium big screens urging fans to first leave their uncovered seats, and then for the players to go off the pitch. "We were just about to slice through them and it was a great relief for them when the rain came," England goalkeeper Joe Hart said. When they returned, Emilio Izaguirre was fortunate not to be sent off for tripping Sturridge and then kicking the striker as he was on the ground. The defender was only booked by Ricardo Salazar. "I dont understand refs seeing balls slammed into players chests," Gerrard said. "Its a clear red card." England was more threatening after the break when Rooney and captain Gerrard were replaced by the youthful legs of Barkley and Jack Wilshere. Barkley quickly unleashed a shot from outside the penalty area, and later burst forward unchallenged to feed Sturridge, who chipped wide. It was surprising that it took until the 66th for a red card to be shown, but England could not exploit its man advantage. Although Barkley was adding energy and pace with his runs, Sturridge squandered another opening when he headed wide from Glen Johnsons cross. "It was a real stop-start game, one of the most frustrating Ive been involved in for a long time," England coach Roy Hodgson said. "We had a long stoppage, I thought we dealt with it and in the second half it was attack vs. defence. "They got their men behind the ball and we didnt take our chances. We attempted to make them but this is a game I will soon forget. I will take the draw and that we got away without injuries and that we have experience against Central American opposition." wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap soccer jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys china ' ' '

It came from a counter attack and when the ball was crossed into the box with the perfect amount of weight behind it, he knew he had a chance. Pepe Real Madrid Jersey . He drifted off the back of the centre-back, met the ball in the air, and powerfully headed his team into an unassailable 4-2 lead. Jurgen Klinsmann had arrived in the Premier League. What happened next would become one of the most iconic moments in the Premier Leagues history as the German international, along with his Tottenham teammates, celebrated the goal by diving onto the floor, as a way of mocking the stories about the striker being a notorious diver. Klinsmanns performance at Sheffield Wednesday, in the sunshine, on the opening day of the 1994-95 season is still today known as one of the leagues all-time great debuts. This past Saturday in the Premier League wasnt the opening day of the season but it certainly felt like it with many new players making their debuts, fresh off an international break, after the transfer window finally closed. Much like Klinsmanns signing in the mid 90s, the arrival of Mesut Ozil in England has similarly captured the attention of the entire country. Arsenal fans are not alone in the excitement of having this player in the Premier League. On August 20th, 1994, while Klinsmann was diving for fun, Ozil was a shy 5-year-old kid living in a relatively poor suburb of Gelsenkirchen, Germany. Nineteen years later, his debut drew parallels to the man who now coaches the United States. A number of great players have arrived in the Premier League when they are past their best, while others have reached elite level while playing in England. Very few have been at a world class standard when they arrived, generating a real buzz about their debut. Klinsmann was one and Ozil is another. Like his countryman, Ozil opened his Premier League career away from North London when he travelled to Sunderland on Saturday and, like Klinsmann, Ozil ended his day with a very good performance and a standout moment for everyone to remember. With Tomas Rosicky and Santi Cazorla missing through injury, Ozil was placed in the side with Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Flamini and Theo Walcott as the five to play behind striker Olivier Giroud. Arsenal are very much a 4-3-3 side, with an attacking member of the midfield three often pushing further up to make it a 4-2-3-1 hybrid. However, with the intelligent Ozil in the side, along with a real lack of pressing from Sunderlands 4-4-2, Arsenal played a different shape than we are used to seeing from them (more on that shortly). To understand Arsenals different identity on Saturday, you just had to watch Ozil for the opening 10 minutes of the game, as he put on a clinic on just how to play as a creator behind a striker. Everything Ozil does well was on show in the first 10 minutes. His first two touches of the ball came in the opponents half but deep towards the right wing and immediately his ability to drift deep had an effect on Sunderlands positioning as a back four, with them slowly moving higher up the pitch. Already Arsenal had them where they wanted them and Ozils movement towards the right flank was on show again in the seventh minute when Walcott, after connecting well with right back Carl Jenkinson, needed an outlet as he drove into Sunderlands final third. There was Ozil, moving across the pitch as he does so splendidly, to receive the ball in space and continue the attack. Keeping the ball and finding space was the theme of Arsenals early attacks and with Ozil again drifting deep centrally, Wilshere picked up the ball on the left and used the German to play a quick one-two that opened up an alley that allowed him to drive deep into Sunderland territory. Much of Arsenals success this season has come from counter attacks deep in their own half. Their third goal at Fulham was a perfect example of this when all eleven players were in their half before an attack, led by Giroud, and finished by Lukas Podolski, exploded into the opponents half. In the eighth minute at Sunderland, Giroud again came deep to win a header that he sent towards Ozil, who allowed the ball to come across him before running across the halfway line and starting another attack. Sunderlands back four, petrified of the space between them and their midfield, again played high and almost got found out. Two minutes later they were exposed again. Ozil, in the centre circle, facing his own goal, received the ball and immediately centre-back Mobido Diakite charged into his back to pressure him. Ozil calmly slotted the ball back to Kieran Gibbs, and before the left back even received the ball, charged into space on the left behind Sunderlands right back Ondrej Celustka. Gibbs saw Ozils run and had time to set the ball up for his left foot before swinging it towards a sprinting Ozil, who now had the Sunderland defence in trouble. With Diakite out of position, Valentin Roberge was forced to close down the German, leaving space in the middle for Giroud to run into. Ozil took a brilliant touch, bringing the ball down on to the ground, had a quick glance across to see his strikers positioning, and then sent a perfect cross over for Giroud to finish it off. 1-0 Arsenal. Ossist number one of many for the 42 million pound man. Watch the match highlights here. It had taken just 10 minutes and Ozil had done damage on the right, in the centre and over on the left. With Sunderland playing with ineffective wingers, Arsenal went on to dominate possession in a 3-1 win and simply using their full backs, with Walcott on the right, to provide width. Flamini played as a solo pivot once Arsenal attacked, playing more passes to Ozil than any other player, giving Ramsey, Wilshere and Ozil the freedom to play very close to Giroud centrally. They were far from narrow, though, and actually had much more fluency in attack with the constant interchanging between the trio. (photo: fourfourtwo.com - Click For Larger Image) A true treasurer of the ball, you can see just how effective Ozil is with his vertical and lateral movement, putting together an outstanding passing efficiency from left to right in the two attacking areas for Arsenal. It was only one game, admittedly against an average side, but already it is clear that Ozil is exactly what Arsene Wenger needs as his side evolve into an impressive team on counter attacks from their own half and quick transitions. (photo: fourfourtwo.com - Click For Larger Image) Ozil is the ultimate space invader who will terrify defenders with his movement, finding space for himself like no other, and creating space for teammates to benefit from. Klinsmanns header and dive to celebrate made him an instant box office superstar in England, someone the public wanted to go and watch live. The ultimate space invader is going down the same path. Fitting, in 2013, its no longer about seeing just a pure goal scorer. It appears the IQ levels might just be rising off the field; Ozils arrival in the Premier League certainly guarantees it is rising on it. CLEVELAND -- As if the Cavaliers and Browns dont have enough trouble winning games. Nike Roshe Run Flyknit . Now their most prominent stars are going at it. Cavs All-Star guard Kyrie Irving and Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon spent the past few days in a media spat, exchanging barbs across TV, Twitter and newspaper. Gordon, who led the NFL with yards receiving last season, fired the first verbal volley last week when he went on ESPNs "First Take" and discussed Irvings problems this season with teammate Dion Waiters. "I talked about it with Dion," Gordon said. "Hes my neighbour in my building so we hang out all the time. Im aware of the rift in the locker room. Thats just alpha males and supreme athletes trying to share the spotlight." Irving didnt waste any time in shooting back, telling the Akron Beacon Journal, "Guys like Josh Gordon need to stay in his sport and mind his own business. Does he still play for the Browns? Ill continue to root for the Browns, but in terms of this stuff here, what goes on in this locker room, he needs to stay out of it." On Sunday, Gordon responded to Irving via social media by tweeting: "Smh. (shake my head). ... i touched a nerve." Following Mondays practice at Cleveland Clinic Courts, Waiters and Irving, standing side-by-side against a wall, attempted to clear up any misunderstanding. They insist they get along well. "Weve been friends before we even made the NBA, before any of this," Waiters said. "I just think yall saying we dont like playing with one another, yeah, we still need to learn certain things. But I think at the end of the day, were genuinely friends. I love him as a friend, teammate, everything. I just want everybody to know that. "I dont hate this guy. Im pretty sure he dont hate me. I know he dont hate me. I hope he dont hate me. Rome wasnt built in one day. Were still young. Were still planning to stay together. Were still working. As long as weve got great communication down its fine." Irving said he has spoken to Gordon about the comments. "I just let him know that the whole situation kind of got blown out of proportion," Irving said. "There was no disrespect on my end to him or anything he does. I have the utmost respect for him." Before Saturdays home game against Charlotte, Irving said he has grown tired of media reports saying he wants to leave Cleveland. "The barrage and little bit of attack that I saw, Ive been getting it all season and I feel I definitely dont deserve it," he said. "Its one of those things where I can deal with it, but at a certain point, its gotten too much. Its been like that the whole entire season." Irving then went out and scored a career-high 44 points in a 96-94 overtime loss that pushed the Cavs to the edge of elimination from the playoff chase. Irving, who recently returned from a biceps injury, said he has been unfairly scrutinized. "Its all nonsense to me," he said. "Thats part of the business. I get it. Its part of the job. To go out and frame my character to something its not. ... Im not an attention seeker. I dont go out trying to put all these rumours out. For people that feel that its a good thing to continue to put my name in the headlines to get reads, thats your job, but at a certain point its got to stop." Irvings stance is the latest turbulence in what has been a bumpy season for the Cavs. The team fired general manager Chris Grant in March, and the Cavs have been wildly inconsistent in a season in which owner Dan Gilbert had predicted would end with the first playoff appearance since 2010 -- before LeBron James left. The Cavs can offer Irving, the MVP in this years All-Star game, a maximum contract extension this summer. Irving has said he enjoys playing in Cleveland but has been noncommittal about whether hell accept the long-term deal. Maybe Gordon knows. Nike Roshe Run Mesh . The six-year-old Irish-bred took the lead coming off the final turn and never looked back, defending his title at the $1-million Pattison Canadian International on Sunday.Ronda Rousey needed just one minute and six seconds to dispose of her last opponent, Sara McMann, at UFC 170 on February 23, 2014. Before that, Rousey needed a total 23 minutes and 26 seconds to take care of her last eight opponents - and one of those fights lasted 10 minutes and 58 seconds. So, who is the next worthy contender to take a shot at dethroning the first and only UFC womens bantamweight champion. There are a few names that have floated around as possible opponents but nothing is set in stone. Lets take a closer look at the potential combatants: Cat Zingano The No. 1 contender for the womens title is likely the best female fighter in the UFC not named Rousey. The Broomfield, Colorado native has a perfect 8-0 record with her one fight with the organization being her biggest, a third-round TKO over division stalwart Miesha Tate at "The Ultimate Fighter 17" finale on April 13, 2013. Zingano was scheduled to appear as a coach opposite Rousey on the 18th edition of the reality show and later fight for the womens title at the shows culminating event, but she was forced to withdraw with a knee injury. She underwent stem cell therapy on her left knee last October and has been sidelined since. When she is ready to return UFC president Dana White says Zingano will be the No. 1 contender. Gina Carano These days the public is likely to know Carano more for her starring roles in action films "Haywire" and "Fast and Furious 6" than for her mixed martial arts past, but there was a time when Carano was untouchable. Carano (7-1) spent two years undefeated before a loss in 2009 at the hands of Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos for the Strikeforce womens featherweight championship. She hasnt fought since, however, her contract with four fights remaining on it was absorbed by the UFC when parent company Zuffa, LLC purchased Strikeforce in 2011. In an appearance last week on "The Arsenio Hall Show," Carano said she was meeting with White this week to discuss a potential return. "Theres not a workout that I go through that Im not fighting somebody in my mind," said Carano. "And its never gone away." Holly Holm Holm is the newest name in the hat for a shot at Rousey and her credentials give her every right to be there. She is a former 18-time boxing champion and Legacys first womens bantamweight champion. Holm (7-0 in MMA) captured the inaugural title in decisive fashion on Friday, defeating Juliana Werner via fifth-round TKO at Legacy 30 despite breaking her arm in the first round. Nike Air Huarache Couple. Holms management met with the UFC in March, but White told UFC Tonights Ariel Helwani the meeting did not go well and the he was "not interested whatsoever" in the fighters service. If Holm does find a way into Whites good books, it could lead straight to Rousey. Cristiane Justino "Cyborg" is coming off a loss in a Muay Thai fight against champion Jorina Baars in March, but her dominant history puts her near the top of the list for a superfight with Rousey. She is the former Strikeforce featherweight champion and inaugural Invicta FC featherweight champion. She is also a two-time jiu-jitsu world champion. Justino also fears no one. This we are sure. After Rouseys win over McMann at UFC 170, Justino (12-1, 1 NC in MMA) was quick to request a meeting in the octagon with the undefeated champ. "Im glad @rondarousey won- now I can kick her ass in December - make it happen daddy @danawhite," she posted on her Twitter account on Feb. 23. It would likely be the biggest fight in womens MMA history, however, White and Justinos camp have never seen eye to eye. White certainly didnt mince words a few days after UFC 170 and Justinos tweet. "First of all, she does not fight here. Everybody realizes that, right? See weighs 145 pounds and her genius manager, Tito Ortiz, said that she would die if she went to 135 pounds," White told U.K. television station BT Sports. "Shes also coming off a steroid suspension last time she was here. I cant even, it drives me nuts. She [Rousey] will not fight Cyborg. I dont know who shes going to fight." Alexis Davis (Honourable mention) One of the more seasoned fighters in the division, the Canadian has won five fights in a row and all three of her bouts in the UFC. While she is not a favourite to challenge for the belt just yet, Davis (16-5) has forced her way into the conversation with her most recent wins coming over Jessica Eye and former title contender Liz Carmouche. Injuries and contract disputes aside, each of these fighters has an argument when it comes to Rouseys next title defence. If all of these women could agree to a fight tomorrow, who should be the one to step inside the octagon? As always, its Your! TORONTO -- David Clarkson wouldnt blame John Scott or anyone else. Nike Air Huarache Oreo . Not this time. More than 48 hours after leaving the bench to enter the line brawl between his Toronto Maple Leafs and the Buffalo Sabres to come to the defence of teammate Phil Kessel, a contrite Clarkson accepted his automatic, 10-game suspension even while justifying his actions. "Im a grown man and Im going to take this one for what I did and be held accountable," Clarkson said. "Im not appealing it. Im going to take it, and Im going to work hard to get back." Clarkson broke his silence after playing in the Leafs 3-2 pre-season loss to the Ottawa Senators, apologizing for not addressing the situation before. The 29-year-old right-winger said he wanted to wait to get official word from the NHL about the suspension and then didnt want to be a distraction on a game day. It was another case of Clarkson trying to do what he figured was right for the team. When he did that Sunday night upon seeing Sabres tough guy John Scott going after Kessel, it got him into this mess that will cost him almost $270,000. "I think I sometimes make decisions with my heart, not my head," Clarkson said. "I saw a teammate that I felt was in trouble, and my reaction was to help. You can have many different opinions, but that was my mind-set going in. I was just going there to go to help and settle things down. That was the intent." Teammates admired Clarksons intent, so much so that he said everyone in the locker room expressed support for sticking up for Kessel. There was no hesitation in leaving the bench to leap to the aid of someone Clarkson has only called a teammate since July. It was simply a gut instinct, albeit a very costly one. "Its like if you have a little brother and you feel like hes in trouble or you feel like theres a situation you can get out and help," Clarkson said. "That was the feeling I had in my belly. I had feeling to do something, and Ive got to pay the consequences for it. That was the feeling, it was to go out and to try and help or to calm down a situation and now Ill serve my 10 games and come back better for it." Clarkson never conceded regret about a "split-second" decision. He never said the result would have been different if he had to replay the incident over again. "The part that sucks is that Im missing these games," he said. "But at the same time I think defending teammates is something thats just in me. Its what Ive done my whole life and I think that the 10 games thing obviously is tough to swallow, but when theres rules out there in place, youve got to abide by them." Coach Randy Carlyle, whom Clarkson said has been "supportive" since the brawl happened and the suspension was handed down, called the rationale "more of an old-time hockey explanation." Clarkson brings the kind of tools that make him a throwback player, but this wasnt what the Leafs signed up for when they gave him a seven-year, US$36.75-million contract. But Carlyle said earlier Tuesday that he can sense the "burning desire" Clarkson has to make a difference. Its one he wont be able to do on the ice until Torontos 11th game Oct. 25 at the Columbus Blue Jackets. "Ill say sorry to the fans or anybody whos disappointed, but I was going out there and what I felt like (was) my teammates in here are first to me," Clarkson said. "Thats whats gotten me to where I am in my career, thats why I believe Im here. I think thats just the person I am. If anyone was in trouble in here, I would try to go to help and that was what I did." Until he can make his regular-season debut, Clarkson resigned himself to being "the biggest cheerleader" he can be. Oct. 25 feels "very far" away. "This is one of the toughest things Ive been through in my career, especially being excited to be somewhere, just getting used to things," he said. "But no one in life is perfect, and when you make a mistake youve got to live up to it and deal with it." Roshe Run One BR . Luol Deng was out with flu-like symptoms, and Kyrie Irving, who missed shootaround because he was ill, fought through his sneezing spells to help lead the Cavaliers to a 115-113 win over the Washington Wizards on Friday. As Montreals English-language all-sports station, TSN 690 will team with sister station CJAD 800 to provide exclusive broadcast coverage of all Impact regular season and playoff games for at least the next three seasons, bringing all Impact away games to radio for the first time as part of the new agreement.(SportsNetwork.com) - Mike Zimmer is approaching the waning days of what he hopes is the first of many years as the Minnesota Vikings head coach. Joe Philbin is likely in the death throes of his three-year stint in Miami. Such is life in the NFL where 6-8 is considered progress in one city and being a tick better at 7-7 is a disappointment in another. The Dolphins and their lame-duck head coach will try to halt a two-game losing streak on Sunday when they host a Vikings team excited about the development of rookie quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, a Miami native. Philbins ultimate fate was probably sealed last weekend when Miami faltered in the second half and was doused by AFC East-rival New England, 41-13, in Foxbrorough. Tom Brady threw a pair of touchdown passes during a 24-point third quarter, as the Patriots clinched their sixth straight division title. Ryan Tannehill completed 29-of-47 passes for 346 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for Miami, which had beaten New England in the season opener 33-20 but saw its already slim playoff hopes dashed further with the second straight loss. The Dolphins outscored the Patriots 23-0 in the second half back in September but had the tables turned this time to the tune of 27-0 in the final 30 minutes of this one. We have to play 60 minutes of football, Philbin said. You cant make the mistakes that we made. Miami is technically still alive in the postseason race but must win its final two games -- against Minnesota and the New York Jets -- and receive plenty of help elsewhere to get in. I believe in the players, Philbin said. I have confidence in the players. We have an outstanding locker room. The Vikings, meanwhile, had 10-4 Detroit on the ropes last weekend but faltered thanks in large part to a blocked, fourth-quarter field goal. The Lions Matt Prater hit his late field goal to lift Detroit to a 16-14 victory over Minnesota in the NFC North matchup. Bridgewater went 31-for-41 for 315 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Vikings, who had won their previous two coming into the game. Leading by one Minnesota went on an impressive long drive that covered 75 yards over 18 plays and ate up 11 minutes, but the team came away empty as Blair Walshs 26-yard field goal was blocked by Jason Jones. Detroit then countered with the march that won the game, culminating with Praters 33-yard field goal for a 16-14 lead with 3:38 to play. The Vikings had chances, getting the ball back near midfield thanks to a big return from Cordarrelle Patterson, but Patterson fell on a fourth down passing play to give the ball back to Detroit. Minnesota forced a punt and got the ball back with 45 seconds, but they were only able to get to midfield and Walshs 68-yard field goal attempt fell well short to end the game. We led almost all the way, but we cant turn the ball over twice and we cant miss field goals, Bridgewater said. Were just going to continue to try to get better. The Dolphins lead their all-time series with Minnesota by a 6-4 margin, winning the last two. The teams havent played since Sept. 19, 2010 when Miami edged the Vikings, 14-10, in Minneapolis. They havent tussled in South Florida since 2006. WHAT TO WATCH FOR Philbin has been the definition of mediocre as the Dolphins coach, compiling a 7-9 record in 2012 and upping that to 8-8 last season before settling in at 7-7 with two weeks left in the current campaign. A 5-3 start annd some improvement by Tannehill has many thinking Miami was ready to take the next step this season but thats been tempered in the last two weeks as the Dolphins have been outscored by a 69-26 margin in losses to playoff- caliber teams, Baltimore and New England. Nike Air Huarache Hyper Punch. Players were disappointed. Coaches are disappointed. Owners are disappointed. I think thats understandable, Philbin admitted. The main issue has been the offense which cant get the running game going and hasnt topped 16 points in any game during the month of December. The Dolphins have mustered only 71 yards on the ground per game this month, making the team one-dimensional and easy to figure out especially when it falls behind. With opposing defenses content to pin their ears back Tanneheill has been sacked 10 times during Miamis two-game skid. The Vikings strength, meanwhile, is its defense, not a surprise considering Zimmers reputation as a blitz doctor. Minnesota has improved from 31st in the NFL to 11th in defense in one-year under Zimmer, who is on the verge of turning young players like defensive end Everson Griffen, defensive tackle Shariff Floyd, linebacker Anthony Barr and cornerback Xavier Rhodes into stars. Safety Harrison Smith, meanwhile, is already entrenched as one of the NFLs best. The unit has continued to be stingy despite being without Floyd and Barr recently due to knee injuries, holding Detroit to a season-low 233 yards. Offensively Minnesota isnt very dynamic because of the year-long absence of Adrian Peterson due to off-the-field issues. Things are starting to click for Bridgewater, though, who will be aiming for a third straight game with a completion percentage over 70.0 and more than 300 yards passing. The good thing is Teddy is getting a lot of these experiences, Zimmer said. The on-the-job training hes getting I really believe will bode well for him in the future and for us as an organization and as a team. Bridgewater, meanwhile, is excited for his chance to play in South Florida. Im pretty loved back home in Miami and a lot of people tell me that Im a role model in my community, Bridgewater said Wednesday. So itll be amazing to see how many turn out there and get to see me play in person for the first time for some people. The Vikings may have found something in first-year receiver Charles Johnson, a lengthy and speedy target who has an innate feel for running routes and creating separation. Johnson has quickly become Bridgewaters favorite target, snaring 20 balls for 355 yards and two TDs over his last five games. The Dolphins defense is talented but has stalled recently, forcing just five turnovers in the past six games as the pass rush has slowed. Miami has also struggled against the run in recent weeks because of injuries at the linebacker position. Part of my job is to get the team to play up to their potential each and every week, Philbin said. To that degree, certainly I feel like we could do better. OVERALL ANALYSIS The Vikings are headed in the right direction but still havent figured out how to close in tight games. Figure on the growing pains to continue here on the road as Miami wins a field-gal game late. Right now whats relevant is getting our team to play up to their potential for 60 minutes against the Minnesota Vikings, the embattled Philbin said. Thats really all that is important to me right now. Cheap Jerseys .C. -- Just when it seemed as though Carolina was heading toward a six-game losing streak, Jordan Staal and Manny Malhotra scored late to give the Hurricanes a much-needed win. Malhotra, who played his third game since signing with the Hurricanes on Oct. 31, scored 2:40 into overtime, and Carolina skated off with a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night. Malhotras drive from the slot on a breakaway got past goalie Steve Mason. "I wanted to make sure I got a quick shot off," Malhotra said. "I think it surprised him. We did a lot of good things as a team, and scoring is the icing on the cake. Im just trying to do the little things that make teams successful." The Hurricanes forced overtime after Staal scored with 52.3 seconds left in regulation, with goalie Justin Peters on the bench in favour of an extra skater. "We stuck with our game the whole 60 minutes," Staal said. "For us to rebound, it shows the character in this room that we can keep battling through some tough times. It was nice to see us bounce back after that goal they scored." Philadelphias Scott Hartnell scored his first of the season on a power play with 3:58 left in regulation. But the Flyers couldnt hold on and went to overtime for the first time. "Its nice to score a goal and to get a point, but it obviously leaves a sour taste in your mouth when they score two goals in less than a couple of minutes," Hartnell said. "I think we played smart with the puck except for a few shifts, and unfortunately we werent able to get the other point." Peters stopped 28 shots and earned his first win of the season. He made his fifth straight start in place of the injured Cam Ward. "We gave up the late goal, but for us to stay with it was rewarding," Peters said. "We played the right way. We want to use this momentum. It feels good, and weve got to want this again." The Flyers, who have lost three of four, have scored more than two goals only once this season in 14 games. Carolina was 0-of-4 on the power play, including a 5-on-3 advantage that carried over into the third period. Philadelphia, which has the 29th ranked power play in the NHL, went 1 for 4 with a rare man-advantage goal. Mason made a season-high 36 saves on 38 shots, also a season high. There is some irony in the fact that Jason Spezza was finally traded on Canada Day. Matt Ryan Jersey . After all, there had been weeks of speculation that the star centre wasnt enamoured with the idea of playing in a Canadian market. But a few hours after the trade, Spezza wanted to make it clear that he wasnt leaving Ottawa because he couldnt stand the pressure and scrutiny that came with playing in the nations capital. “I dont think thats accurate," Spezza told TSN.ca. "My biggest motivator for a trade was to win. It will be portrayed however they want it to be portrayed, but the last thing I was worried about was coming out and doing interviews in front of my stall.” During the past month, it was widely reported that Spezza put the other Canadian teams on his no-trade list and that his desire was to go south of the border, where he would face less scrutiny. However, Spezza said the fact that most Canadian teams are struggling right now was the biggest reason why he put them on his no-trade list. He is never one to shy away from microphones and says he would welcome playing in a Canadian market again down the road if the opportunity arose. “It was more circumstance than anything of why those (Canadian) teams were on my list. I have one year left on my deal and I wanted to go someplace where I could win a Cup,” Spezza said. The troubling trend for Senators fans, however, is that Spezza is the latest superstar to have a somewhat messy departure from their city. In the summer of 2009, Dany Heatley demanded a trade and ultimately forced the clubs hand into trading him to San Jose. Last summer, Daniel Alfredsson and the organization had a sudden and bitter divorce, prompting the long-time captain to sign with Detroit as a free agent. Now that Spezza has been shipped to Dallas, it only adds to the growing perception that superstars have a short shelf life in Ottawa. But Spezza says the fans in Ottawa arent to blame for a number of players wanting to leave in a short window of time. “Its a fine market for stars, but just like any hockey market, its tough when youre not winning. All three situations are unique. I didnt make my decision because of Alfie and Alfie didnt make his decision because of Heater,” Spezza explained. “We all had our own reasons. There were some similarities, but in the end, each was a unique case.” In some ways, this does appear to be different than the Alfredsson saga from last summer, when the captain abruptly ended his tenure with the club. Spezza appeared to have a more calculated, long-term approach – far less emotional than the course Alfredsson seemed to take. But there is a striking similarity between Alfredssons comments last summer and the ones made by Spezza today. In each case, the captain felt like he had a better chance to win a Stanley Cup with a different organization. “All I can say is my goal is to win a Cup. I think Ottawa has a good chance. They have a good core of young players and a good nucleus. But for me right now, I just felt like Dallas was a great fit,” Spezza added. Spezza said he had discussions with Bryan Murray towards the end of the season and alerted the front office that he likely wasnt going to re-sign a contract extension beyond 2015. And rather than make it awkward for everyone during the 2014-15 season – constantly answering questions about his future – he felt it was best for all parties involved to make a preemptive move this summer. “I didnt have any interest in signing an extension and that kind of hinted to them that maybe it was time to move on. I met with Bryan and had some really good and frank discussions. And I was being honest with them when I said it was best for me and best for them if I moved on,” Spezza explained. Spezza was asked if he knew the regular season finale in Pittsburgh on April 13 would be his last game in a Senators jersey. He scored a brilliant goal in the shootout to secure a Senators 3-2 victory and he admitted, “It wasnt lost on me that it could have been my last goal with Ottawa.” Spezza said he stayed quiet for the past few weeks out of respect for the process, but once Murray told reporters at the NHL GM meetings last month that Spezza had indeed requested a trade, he knew the writing was on the wall. “Once Bryan went public, I knew it was probably done for me there,” he said. (Spezza also went out of his way to point out that he still has a terrific relationship with Murray and holds the Senators general manager in the highest regard). Spezza isnt sure how the crowd at Canadian Tire Centre would react to his appearance when he makes his return to Ottawa on January 29, 2015 in a Dallas Stars jersey, but he does want Senators fans to know that he does not hold a grudge against them – even though he was often seen as a lightning rod for criticism by the fan base. “My time in Ottawa was fond and I know a lot of people are upset," Spezza said. "I would have loved to have the storybook career, where you spend your whole life in one city and play for one team, but thats part of the hard decision we had to make. This didnt just happen overnight and I woke up one morning and said ‘I want to leave. There was a lot of thought put into this.” Justin Durant Falcons Jersey . His killer crossover in his rookie season that dusted Michael Jordan. The jumper he buried over Tyronn Lue, then the highstep over the fallen Lakers defender in Game 1 of the 2001 NBA Finals.KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Chiefs general manager John Dorsey said Friday that he does not anticipate using the franchise tag on any free agents, something the team has done each of the past three seasons. The Chiefs are poised to lose several key players from last years 11-5 team, including Pro Bowl left tackle Branden Albert, Pro Bowl punt returner Dexter McCluster and starting defensive end Tyson Jackson, safety Kendrick Lewis and offensive guards Jon Asamoah and Geoff Schwartz. The deadline to use the franchise tag is March 3. "Probably not," Dorsey said. "We probably wont use it." The Chiefs used the tag on Albert last season, paying him more than $9.8 million -- the average of the top five salaries at his position the previous year. They could franchise him again but would be on the hook for 120 per cent of Alberts salary, a massive financial commitment for a team that is already bumping along just below the salary cap. Kansas City used the franchise tag on linebacker Tamba Hali two years ago, eventually signing him to a long-term contract. The same story unfolded last year for wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, who signed a $56 million, five-year contract one year after receiving the tag. Dorsey did say that hes having "ongoing conversations" with representatives of all of the Chiefs free agents, including Albert, but refused to get into the specifics. "We will continue to have ongoing discussions with his representatives here at the combine," Dorsey said. "Weve done is weve reached out to every representative for every unrestricted free agent that we have, and weve also talked to Alex Smiths representative as well." Smith wont become a free agent until after the 2014 season, but signing him to an extension would not only lock hiim up but also offer some salary cap relief. Javier Arenas Jersey. Smiths number this is season is $8 million, but the Chiefs could trim that roughly in half with an extension. The Chiefs have already waived defensive back Dunta Robinson to free up salary, and its likely they will either restructure current contracts or part ways with some of their veterans in order to create more off-season flexibility. "I dont think its fair to talk about a players contract in a setting like this," Dorsey said. "I think thats not the proper business that you like to do." Dorsey did address several other issues at the combine, including his belief in building through the draft. Thats the same philosophy followed by his mentor, Ted Thompson of the Green Bay Packers, and one espoused by Chiefs coach Andy Reid. That means that the Chiefs are unlikely to be quite as active as they were in free agency last year, when they turned over roughly half of their roster. Free agency begins March 1. Still, there are plenty of holes to fill, especially along the offensive line. "We look at everybody right now and make sure that you cover all the positions," Reid said Thursday. "One of the tricks of the draft is that you take the best players available, if you can stay that disciplined to do so and make yourself a better football team." Other positions of need include free safety, where Lewis struggled much of the season, and wide receiver, where the Chiefs kept shuffling through options with little success. "We have a pretty good group of young players to form a nice nucleus," Reid said. "I look forward to adding guys too, and Im a big believer that you build your team through the draft. Free agency can be a bit of a tease at times, and I think you have to be real careful." wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap soccer jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys china ' ' '

MINNEAPOLIS -- The New York Yankees reunion with Alfonso Soriano is likely over after the team designated the struggling outfielder for assignment on Sunday. Nike Roshe One Flyknit Norge . Soriano returned to New York midway through last season and sparked the offence with 17 home runs in 58 games. But Soriano hit just .221 this season with six homers and 23 RBIs in 67 games. The Yankees announced the move shortly after acquiring Arizona right-handed starter Brandon McCarthy for lefty Vidal Nuno. "We designated Soriano, which is extremely difficult because hes been a great Yankee and a great player," New York manager Joe Girardi said before Sundays game at Minnesota. Sorianos playing time decreased considerably this year after New York signed Jacoby Ellsbury and Carlos Beltran in the off-season. He recently has been splitting time in right field with Ichiro Suzuki since Beltran was injured and is now limited to designated hitter. But the slugger who started his major league career with the Yankees in 1999 and has 412 career homers has not connected since May 17 and has struck out 71 times in 226 at-bats. The 38-year-old Soriano is in the final year of an eight-year, $136 million deal he signed with the Chicago Cubs, who are paying $13 million of his $18 million salary this year. The Yankees have 10 days to trade or place Soriano on unconditional waivers. If he clears waivers, New York can release him. "For Soriano, its a guy that came in and did a tremendous job for us last year, has had his struggles this year and hes a guy thats used to playing every day," Girardi said. "Wasnt every day for him, maybe it was harder for him to get going, not sure. Im sure hes extremely disappointed. Soriano always takes things with class." The Yankees recalled pitcher Bruce Billings from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Billings pitched in one game for New York this season, allowing four runs in four innings on April 25 against the Los Angeles Angels. Girardi has an open spot in the starting rotation after Nuno was traded to the Diamondbacks. Nuno was slated to start on Monday and McCarthy pitched on Thursday. New York wont force McCarthy into Nunos spot on short rest. Billings -- who has started 11 games in Triple-A -- wont be a candidate to start on Monday, Girardi said. An announcement will be made later. "The taxing of our bullpen kind of forced us to make this move, in a sense," Girardi said. "Im not saying it wouldnt have happened, but we decided we had to make it today because we need to." Nike Roshe One Br Norge . Rubio failed to make weight Friday, which ultimately cost him his interim WBC belt and a shot at Golovkins WBA middleweight belt, but the 34-year-old was no match for his opponent from Kazakhstan. Ryane Clowe also scored and the special teams tallied twice on the power play and once short-handed as the Devils opened the post-Olympic break with a much-needed win if it wants to make the playoffs after missing last season. Patrik Elias added a goal and two assists and Cory Schneider made 17 saves as New Jersey salvaged the final game of its four-game season series with Columbus (1-2-1). Artem Anisimov scored for the Blue Jackets and set up one by Marian Gaborik. The Devils, who had the NHLs second-fewest goals (135) before the break, tallied three times in the 2:45 span early in the first period against Sergei Bobrovsky in taking the lead for good. Clowe got the Devils going with a shot from the right circle on what seemingly was a three-for-one chance. Bobrovsky saved his first shot. The second was blocked and came back to Clowe, who tallied his fourth goal of the season on his third attempt. Special teams took over from there. With James Wisniewski off for interference, Bobrovsky made an outstanding stop on a rebound attempt by Jagr. The 42-year-old Czech got the rebound and stickhandled the puck around the prone goaltender and deposited into the net at 7:31. It was his 18th goal of the season and left him one shy of becoming the NHLs seventh member of the 700-goal club. Henrique pushed the lead to 3-0 at 8:54 by deflecting an Andy Greene point shot with Ryan Johansen off for hookinng. Nike Free Run 2 Oransje. Columbus coach Todd Richards called a time out after the goal and it settled the Blue Jackets, who had been 12-5-1 since Jan. 1. Anisimov got the Blue Jackets on the board with a gift from Schneider. The Russian backhanded a shot from the right corner and Schneider lost his position on the corner of the net and allowed it to sneak in. Gaborik, who had missed Columbus last 22 games with a broken collarbone, cut the margin to 3-2 at 11:42 of the second period by knocking a puck out of the air and beating Schneider in close. The Blue Jackets had the better of the play the rest of the period and seemingly were in position to tie the game when Travis Zajac was penalized for hooking with 34 second left in the period. Columbus not only didnt tie, but it fell behind two goals. Defenceman Jack Johnson could not control the puck at the point and Elias floated an alley-oop pass over his stick to Henrique. He skated in on Bobrovsky and beat him between the pads for his 16th goal of the season. Elias scored into an empty net in the final minute. NOTES: The Devils, who were 0 for 12 on the power play in their last four games before the break, scored on their first two power plays. The Blue Jackets had killed off 23 straight penalties in their final five games before the break. ... The three-goal period was only the sixth of the season for New Jersey, one goal shy of its season high against Carolina in November. ... Kesler, 29, is nursing a hand injury and did not dress on Thursday night for Vancouvers post-Olympic opener against the St. Louis Blues. Rumours in recent days have suggested that the Canucks have been listening to offers for Kesler and Alex Edler. Kesler has two more years remaining on a six-year, $30 million contract. Dallas (2-0-1) sits atop the Western Conference with an MLS-best seven points. Castillo opened the scoring in the 71st minute off a Mauro Diaz set piece, and Watson outran defender Tony Lochhead on a long ball and then juked goalkeeper Ian Kennedy for the eventual game-winner in the 78th minute. "We have a good team," Watson said. "The guys are running really hard. To get three goals so fast was like a reward because we had them on the back foot from the get-go of the game. I think the guys came out in the second half and decided we were going to go for the kill." Chivas forward Erick Torres grabbed his third goal of the season in the 81st minute to put the pressure back on the hosts, but Michel, a second-half substitute, slotted in a low, left-footed free kick in the 86th and Chivas (1-1-1) lost for the first time this season. Each team had 10 shots, but Dallas had nearly 60 per cent of the possession. "When you make those mistakes on set pieces and concentration, you dont deserve (points)," Chivas coach Wilmer Cabrera said. "You have to get punished in order for us to improve because weve been working — set pieces — weve been working on that, and today we lost concentration and then we got punished. Pepe Real Madrid Jersey. " Dallas midfielder Andrew Jacobson left the game in the 67th minute with what coach Oscar Pareja said was an "extreme" left ankle injury. Jacobson was on crutches after the game in the Dallas locker room. Jacobson, who came on in the 11th minute after Andrew Moffat tweaked a muscle in his left leg, hurt his ankle going for the ball and getting tangled with a Chivas player near midfield. Chivas Oswaldo Minda was replaced in first-half stoppage time with a right-leg injury that will be evaluated when the team gets home. Castillos strike came from a set piece that Diaz snapped into the box from 36 yards out. Veteran Honduran midfielder Hendry Thomas received the ball and headed it toward Castillo about 6 yards out, and Castillo swept it off Kennedys outstretched hand for the opener. Kennedy kept Chivas in the game in the first half when he saved a 30th-minute, point-blank header from Blas Perez, pushing the shot off the line to keep the game square. Both teams then started fouling more aggressively in the midfield and four yellow cards were shown in the final 15 minutes of the half, including three to Chivas players. The visitors picked up two more yellow cards in the second half, and Thomas earned an ejection during stoppage time. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap soccer jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys china ' ' '

AUBURN, Ala. Cheap Golden State Warriors Jerseys . -- Auburn tailback Tre Mason, who helped power the Tigers into the national championship game, is skipping his senior season to enter the NFL draft. "It was a dream since I was young," Mason said Thursday in announcing his decision. "Im a dream chaser, and now Im just trying to make a dream into reality." The Heisman Trophy finalist was the Tigers workhorse late in the season, coming through in the seasons biggest games. "It was a big dream of mine," Mason said. "I wanted the ball bad, and I felt I could do something with the ball in my hand." Mason, who finished sixth in the Heisman voting, is projected as a likely mid-round draft pick. The 5-foot-10, 205-pounder said he received a third-round grade from the NFL draft advisory board. Third-year sophomore left tackle Greg Robinson is also headed to the NFL. Mason broke Bo Jacksons 28-year-old school single-season record with 1,816 yards. He also ran for 24 touchdowns and finished with six consecutive 100-yard rushing games. "He did a wonderful job for us not only this year, but really his whole career," said Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, who recruited Mason when he was offensive co-ordinator. "Not just the way he played football but the way he represented Auburn. "This is a big day for him and his family. This is a big day for Auburn, so Im very proud of him." Mason rushed for 195 yards and scored two touchdowns in Monday nights BCS championship game against Florida State Monday night. His tackle-breaking 37-yard run with 1:19 left gave the Tigers the lead before losing 34-31. Once regarded as an undersized, speed back, Mason averaged 34 carries and 194.5 yards over the final four games. He ran 46 times for 304 yards and four touchdowns in the Southeastern Conference championship game against Missouri. Malzahn called Mason "one of the tougher individuals in all of college football." "He can run between the tackles, hes got great courage, he plays his best games in his biggest games, and hes a good receiver out of the backfield also," the coach said. Mason was asked what kind of running back the team that drafts him will get. "I feel like theyll get somebody thats a hard worker, willing to do whatever it takes to win," he said. "My minds not just set on money, its set on championships. I have yet to win a championship, and my mind-sets not going to change. God willing, Ill win a championship at the next level." NEW YORK -- The Washington Capitals reveled in what they accomplished Sunday night. Nike Blazer Donna . The New York Rangers seethed at what they didnt. Steve Oleksy, Jason Chimera and Mikhail Grabovski scored second-period goals in the Capitals 4-1 win over the Rangers. "We felt them deflate a little bit," Oleksy said. Washington defenceman Nate Schmidt added a goal in the third for the Capitals, who beat Nashville at home on Saturday. Schmidt, a 22-year-old rookie, scored his first NHL goal in that game. Grabovskis goal came on a penalty shot. In his fourth NHL game, Philipp Grubauer made 30 saves for Washington (16-12-2) to earn his first career win. The Capitals have won four of five. "Its a huge pressure, but he handled it," Capitals star forward Alex Ovechkin said. "Its good for him and its good for us." New York (15-15-1), beaten at home in overtime by New Jersey on Saturday, has lost three of five. Henrik Lundqvist made 32 saves, and Benoit Pouliot scored the Rangers lone goal with 1:53 left to spoil Grubauers shutout bid. The Rangers are 0-1-1 on their team-record, nine-game homestand. Following the loss, the Rangers held a players-only, closed-door meeting for about 15 minutes. The meeting was at least the second they have held this season. "Its one of those things. Its not going to come from anyone else except from the 22 guys in here," New York centre Derek Stepan said. "We have to find a way to grab it. Forget about what happened in the first (number) of games. "It doesnt matter if you were playing well, playing bad. It doesnt matter. We have to start playing as a group." Washington now has a three point lead over New York for second place in the Metropolitan Division. "We need to grasp it here, need to play with some desperation," Stepan said. "Thats the biggest key right now. Points are points right now. You have to win your hockey games." Chimera opened the scoring 2:28 into the second period. He found a loose puck in a cluster of players around the crease and shoved it in before being knocked down by Justin Falk. That ended Lundqvists shutout streak against Washington at 202 minutes, 28 seconds, dating to Game 6 of last seasons first-round playoff series. Just 25 seconds later, Oleksy ripped a slap shot past Lundqvist to give Washington a 2-0 lead. Grabovski was awarded a penalty shot with 1:34 left in the second after Ryan McDonagh hooked him on a breakaway. Grabovski then beat Lundqvist glove side with a slap shot from between the circles. "We thought he was going to fake it and go five-hole," Chimera said. "Weve seen him score like that before on penalty shots. It was pretty good. Didnt know the little guy had it in him." Schmidt pushed the lead to 4-0 with 2:57 left. Much of the game was played on the perimeter as both teams clogged the middle of the ice in their defensive zones. Washington recorded 36 shots, and New York finished with 31. "We checked them pretty good," Chimera said. "It was one of those games that we didnt give them much, which is really good." Both teams were 0-for-2 on the power play. Despite the playoff history between the two teams, the game lacked emotion outside of several scrums. Offensive stars Ovechkin and Rick Nash of the Rangers were given roughing penalties during a late second-period dust-up. "Just a hockey play," Nash said. "He was finishing his check, and I was trying to get a spark for the guys." By the end of the game, many of the announced 18,006 in attendance had left. Those that remained offered the Rangers a less-than-stellar job performance evaluation. "We should be the ones dictating everything," McDonagh said. "Especially home games, its been too easy for teams coming in here. (We need to) come out with a lot of fire and get some hits, some blocked shots and get the crowd into it. "They really had nothing to stand up for tonight, and its something were ashamed of. Its something we take some pride in here and try (to) correct." NOTES: New York D Marc Staal sat out after being injured Saturday against New Jersey. Rangers coach Alain Vigneault described the ailment as "neck issues which are causing him to have some symptoms." Staal, who has a history of concussions, hadnt yet been diagnosed with another. "Were taking every precaution," Vigneault said. "Well probably know more in the next day or two." Michael Del Zotto replaced Staal in the lineup. ... Grubauer made his second NHL start and second outing of this season. His other start came last season. Nike Blazer Lux Premium . McCarthy (2-10) limited San Diego to one run and six hits. He struck out seven with no walks as he beat the Padres for the second time this season and fourth in five career decisions. Nike Blazer Donna .Y. -- For Bills safety Jairus Byrd, there was nothing like the sight of watching Jets backup quarterback Matt Simms trot out on the field early in the fourth quarter Sunday. http://www.nikeblazerdonna.it/nike-blazer-donna/nike-blazer-mid-premium.html . Lundqvist became the winningest goalie in Rangers franchise history as New York routed the Ottawa Senators 8-4, earning his 302nd career victory to unseat Mike Richter.WASHINGTON -- Trevor Ariza scored 26 points, Bradley Beal added 22, and the Washington Wizards took an early lead and never lost it Wednesday night, shooting 54 per cent in a 104-91 win over the Utah Jazz. John Wall had 14 points and 10 assists, and Marcin Gortat had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Wizards, who have won seven of eight. This one was noteworthy if only for substantial contributions from recent additions Drew Gooden and Andre Miller, two thirty-somethings who teamed up for a run that padded the lead in the first half. Alec Burks scored 19 points, and Trey Burke added 14 to lead the Jazz, who have dropped the first four games of their six-game road trip. Their 7-24 road record is the worst in the Western Conference. The Wizards led by as many as 15 in both the second and third quarters, but they never could put the Jazz away. Diante Garretts 3-pointer cut the deficit to five early in the fourth, and it wasnt until Ariza made it 96-85 with a 3-pointer with 4:11 to play that the Wizards could start to feel somewhat comfortable. Thirty-year-old Gooden and 37-year-old Miller made their marks early in the second quarter. Gooden, playing his fourth game of a 10-day contract after sitting idle since last summer, scored his first points of the season by rolling ooff eight quick points. Nike Blazer Mid Suede Vintage Donna. Three of the four baskets came on assists from Miller, who was acquired in a trade deadline deal two weeks ago from the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets shipped Miller after he had been excused from the team since his argument with the coach during a game on New Years Day. Gooden finished with 12 points, his first double-digit game since April 21, 2012. Miller finished with six assists, his most since Dec. 23. In addition, the quiet Verizon Center crowd got to see some buzzer-beaters. Jeremy Evans banked in a 21-footer to wrap up the first quarter after each team committed a turnover in the final two seconds. Wall ended the first half with a fast-break reverse slam after poking the ball away from Burke. Evans struck again at the end of the third quarter with a baseline jumper with one-tenth of a second on the clock. The Wizards improved to 4-1 since Nene was sidelined with a knee injury. Ariza and Gortat have noticeably stepped up in the Brazilian big mans absence. Ariza was 4 for 6 from 3-point range Wednesday and is 26 for 40 over his past six games. Notes: Wizards F Kevin Seraphin missed his fifth consecutive game with a sore right knee, while F Martell Webster sat out his second straight with a sore back. ... The International Scouting Service released their November rankings of the Top 30 draft eligible prospects and there was no change up top, with Sam Reinhart and Aaron Ekblad remaining No. Bruno Alves Jersey .1 and No. 2 for a third consecutive month. Reinhart, a centre for the Kootenay Ice of the WHL, has nine goals and 25 assists in 22 games. Ekblad is producing almost a point a game as a defenceman with seven goals and 11 assists in 19 games with the Barrie Colts. Michael Dal Collie and Willie Nylander remain at the number three and four spots, respectively. Dal Collie, an Oshawa Generals forward, is second in OHL scoring behind Connor Brown with 37 points. Nylander has four goals and four assist with Rogle in Sweden. Sam Bennett of the Kingston Frontenacs moves up four spots to round out the top five. The winger has 11 goals and 14 assists in 19 games. Forward Oskar Lindblom of Brynas in Sweden drops eight spots to 15. Some new names on this months list include Nikolaj Ehlers, David Pastrnak and Joshua Jacobs. Click here to see Novembers rankings. The Panthers bolstered three areas of need on Friday, signing unrestricted free agent quarterback Joe Webb and cornerback Antoine Cason to one-year contracts and wide receiver Tiquan Underwood to a two-year deal.WINNIPEG - Winnipeg Blue Bombers coach Mike OShea knows exactly what the Toronto Argonauts and quarterback Ricky Ray can do to an opponent and Ray isnt all the Bombers have to worry about when they meet Thursday. "Theyve got a lot of weapons," said OShea, Torontos former special teams co-ordinator until he got the top coaching job in Winnipeg. Catch all the action on TSN and TSN 1050 starting at 8:30pm et/5:30pm pt, with pre- and post-game coverage available on TSN 1050 and TSN 1290. "It just so happens that the ball always travels through Ricky first. But, obviously, Im quite familiar with all the guys they have and what they can do offensively." The Bombers play the Argos in the CFL opener at Investors Group Field. It kicks off an expanded season with the addition of the Ottawa Redblacks to the CFL East this year and the return of the Bombers to the CFL West. The Bombers made a lot of changes between seasons and likely arent finished. The Argos have also made changes, although on offence coach Scott Milanovich says theyre ready to go. "I expect us not to miss a beat offensively," he said after the Argos landed Wednesday. "Our expectations are pretty high, weve got a lot of players returning," agreed Ray. "Youve still got to do it on game day." But he also said with little pre-season experience, he expects to make a few mistakes. The Toronto defence sounds more like a work in progress under the guidance of former Bomber head coach Tim Burke, now back in a more familiar role as defensive co-ordinator. "Well have a good defence, I think its going to take us some time," Burke said. The Bombers have their own holes to fill. The depth chart for Thursdays game includes six players at middle linebacker, where they lost Henoc Muamba to the NFL. On Wednesday, they added Canadian offensive lineman Gord Hinse, who played in Edmonton last season, although he immediately went on the six-game injured list. Starting well is important to OShea. "Wed like to come out there and be as physical as we can and set a standard, set up a minimum standard for us and keep building from there," said OShea. "Were going our there to win and set a pace for the season." If the Bombers want to see how rookie starting quarterback Drew Willy performs under pressure,, they couldnt ask for a better opponent. Ruben Amorim Jersey. Ray has thrown 3,780 completed passes for 251 touchdowns and three Grey Cups over 11 seasons in the league with Edmonton and Toronto. "Sometimes I cant believe Im going into my 12th year," he said Wednesday. Willy has completed just 101 for nine touchdowns and has only four starts in his prior two seasons as a backup in Regina. The Bombers are staking a lot on Willy as they try to appease fans turned off by recent struggles, while the Argos want to get back to the Grey Cup after stumbling in last years East final. Willy says keeping Ray off the field as much as possible is going to be a key for the Bombers Thursday. "We definitely need to be efficient," he said of the offence. "We need to make sure our drives take some time." Oh, and scoring touchdowns rather than field goals would also be good, he noted. One thing Willy brings to the table is durability. He says he has only missed two games due to injury in his career, a hand injury in practice that cost him two games when he was in his sophomore career at the University of Buffalo. The Argos brought rookie running back and Winnipeg native Anthony Coombs along. He sits third on their depth chart behind imports Curtis Steele and Jeremiah Johnson. "This time its for keeps so Im exited to be out there," said Coombs, who also saw action in their exhibition game in Winnipeg. Veteran Winnipeg offensive lineman Glenn January couldnt promise a win but he did promise a lot of effort come Thursday night "I think were going to be a passionate team and were going to be a well-prepared team," he said. "If we go out there and we do stumble and dont get the win, its not the end of the world. Its an 18-game season." The Argonauts finished 11-7 in the regular season last year but then fell to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the East final. Hamilton went to the Grey Cup but lost to the Saskatchewan Roughriders at home in Regina. "Right now were an average football team. We have a potential to be more than that," said Milanovich. After a 3-15 season that cost Burke his job, the Bombers were a long way from average last year. The Argos beat the Bombers all three times last season and also beat them in their first pre-season game this year, 24-22. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap soccer jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys china ' ' '

ATLANTA -- Josh Smith was glad to get past his homecoming. Nike Air Huarache Femme . Smiths former Atlanta teammates were glad to hang on for an ugly win. Paul Millsap, signed in the off-season to replace Smith, had 19 points to steal the spotlight in Smiths return to Atlanta, leading the Hawks to a 93-85 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night. Smith, who signed with Detroit after nine seasons with the Hawks, had 11 points while shooting 5 of 15 from the field. "Im glad I got this one under my belt," Smith said. "Now we can move on and just focus on playing basketball." There was a mixed response for Smith in pregame introductions but only applause following a "Thanks Josh Smith" message on the video board during the first timeout. "It was what I expected, kind of," Smith said. "Some cheering, a little bit of boos, but its all good." Smith called his return to his hometown "kind of a surreal moment" before the game. Al Horford, Smiths former teammate, said "it was different" to have Smith wearing the Pistons blue uniform on the Hawks home court. "Josh was a teammate of mine for a long time and I know he felt it," Horford said. "I felt it, too. There was a little nostalgia, I think you could say. But it was good. Hes trying to move forward and so are we, but it was just good to see him." The Hawks pulled away after leading 66-64 through three quarters. Jeff Teague scored 18 points and DeMarre Carroll had 11 points and a career-high 12 rebounds. Pistons coach Maurice Cheeks was ejected with 2:36 remaining after complaining to an official during a timeout. Cheeks wouldnt reveal what he said that drew the two technical fouls and ejection. "Nothing. Just got em," Cheeks said. "I dont need to get fined!" Brandon Jennings led Detroit with 21 points. Rodney Stuckey had 18 before fouling out in the fourth quarter. Each team showed signs of playing the second of back-to-back nights. "Its important during the season to find a way to win some ugly games and I think our group tonight found a way to do that, to find some energy when it probably wasnt easy for either group," Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer said. Added Horford: "It wasnt the prettiest game. We just made enough plays to win the game." Millsap started after missing the Hawks loss at Miami on Tuesday night with a sore right elbow. Millsap, who made eight of 14 shots, said he wasnt motivated by comparisons with Smith. "Im not Josh Smith," Millsap said. "It didnt faze me at all. It wasnt about me. Its not about me." Instead, it was about Smith for many fans and perhaps for the forward who had three steals and blocked two shots. "My teammates know how important the game is to me," Smith said before the game. Asked what he has missed about his Atlanta hometown, Smith said: "My house. And my mothers home cooking." Smith missed a jump hook on the Pistons first possession and then missed two 3-pointers before making a layup for his first field goal. Smith wasnt the only player to struggle with poor shooting early. Each team shot under 30 per cent in the first quarter. The Pistons led 46-43 at halftime before Atlanta took a 66-64 advantage into the final period. Mike Scott scored nine of his 11 points in the fourth quarter. Teague had eight points in the final period. NOTES: Kyle Korver has made a 3-pointer in 85 consecutive games, four shy of matching the NBA record set by Dana Barros (1994-96). Korver left the game in the first period with a left eye laceration. The cut did not require stitches and he returned early in the second period to make his first of two 3s. ... The Pistons were without G Chauncey Billups (left knee tendinitis), G Will Bynum (sore left hamstring) and F Charlie Villanueva (back). ... The teams play again Friday night at Detroit. Nike Roshe Run 2015 . And the young leadoff hitter kept coming through for the Miami Marlins. Yelich set career highs with four hits and four RBIs, including the go-ahead two-run single in the seventh inning, as the Marlins beat the Texas Rangers 8-5 on Tuesday night for their record-tying 13th consecutive interleague victory. Nike Roshe Run Low . Atletico is tied on 70 points with Madrid, which hosts Barcelona later Sunday. Barcelona has 66 points. Gabi Fernandez opened the scoring in what had been a hard fought contest until Bryan Rodriguez was shown a second yellow card for blatantly swiping at the ball with his hand in the 55th minute. http://www.frpaschernike.org/nike-roshe-run-homme.html . -- Clippers star Blake Griffin fired off some harsh words for the Golden State Warriors after being ejected on a Christmas night turned spirited. SEATTLE -- Before beginning the most important home series of the season, Seattle coach Lloyd McClendon had a brief message. The playoffs for the Mariners start now. "I told my guys, this is real simple This is really playoff baseball," McClendon said. "Averages, slumps, all those things are out the window. What you did against a guy last time really makes no difference. Its all about grinding your at-bats out, staying in your inner circle and believing in each other. If you do that you have a good chance to get it done." Clearly McClendons team paid attention and now Seattle is just a half-game behind in the AL wild-card chase after beating Oakland 4-2 on Friday night. Robinson Cano, Kendrys Morales and Logan Morrison all homered as Seattle took another chunk out of Oaklands wild-card lead that was double digits in early August. Seattle and Kansas City are tied behind the As, who have dropped 12 of their last 15. Cano hit his 13th homer in the first inning and Morrison added his eighth in the fifth inning, both off Jason Hammel (10-11). Morales hit a line drive out to right-centre field off Eric OFlaherty in the sixth. "We played a good game today, but we have to be ready for tomorrow," Cano said. Seattle starter James Paxton (6-2) pitched six innings despite control trouble. Paxton walked three batters in the third inning alone, but struck out eight and three times left runners stranded in scoring position. Fernando Rodney pitched the ninth for his 45th save despite giving up a pair of singles to open the inning. Rodney tied Kazuhiro Sasakis franchise record for saves in a season. Rodney didnt know about the record until being told postgame. "Its a lot of saves, 45, but 16 games left want to continue it rolling, pitch good and make good pitches," Rodney said. "Its a good series we have in here right now with Oakland and we see what happens tomorrow." Canos homer skimmed the top of the left-field wall and gave Seattle a 1-0 lead. Morrisons drive curled inside the right-field foul pole, breaking a 2-2 tie. Morrisons homer came at the same time firewoorks erupted across the street at CenturyLink Field when the Seattle Sounders scored in their MLS match with Real Salt Lake. Nike Roshe Run Mesh. Seattle also got a bloop RBI double from Mike Zunino that Oakland left fielder Jonny Gomes appeared to lose in the lights. PITCHER AT THE PLATE Hammel was lifted after the fifth despite throwing just 78 pitches, partly because of issues with Oaklands batting order. The As lost their designated hitter in the bottom of the third inning when Geovany Soto left with back spasms. Derek Norris took over behind the plate but the As lost their DH in the move. Hammel batted in the top of the fourth and reached on a fielders choice after an errant throw allowed Nate Freiman to reach second. Freiman later scored on Sam Fulds bunt to pull Oakland even at 2-2. "Kind of unlucky the way it went tonight," Hammel said. "Both pitches that left he yard I would throw them again." SERIES CLINCHER Seattle clinched the season series against Oakland with its 10th win over the As. The Mariners have won consecutive season series over the As for the first time since taking three straight from 2001-03. TRAINERS ROOM Athletics: Oakland closer Sean Doolittle was reinstated from the 15-day disabled list after being out with a strained right intercostal muscle. Manager Bob Melvin said Doolittles return should settle the As bullpen. Mariners: OF Dustin Ackley was back in the lineup after missing four games with soreness in his foot and ankle. Manager Lloyd McClendon said Ackley should be able to make it through the final 17 games. UP NEXT Athletics: Sonny Gray (13- is 1-4 with a 5.32 ERA in seven starts since Aug. 6. He does love pitching in Seattle with a 3-0 record and 0.46 ERA in three starts at Safeco Field. Mariners: Felix Hernandez (14-5) makes what could be his final home start of the regular season. Hernandez has at least two more road starts and could pitch the final day of the regular season at home or be held for a potential wild-card game. Hernandez is 19-7 in his career against Oakland and 4-0 with a 2.15 ERA in five starts this year. wholesale jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap soccer jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys china ' ' '

That was the message from the Ottawa Senators, even if a 4-1 loss to the New York Islanders in their final pre-season game showed they still have work to do. "Obviously we were bad, especially in the first two (periods)," said defenceman Marc Methot on Sunday. "The one upside I thought was that we actually turned it up in the third period and played a lot better, but its pre-season, half our squad is missing so you can only take so much from that." It was a rough night all around for the Senators as the other half of the team was beat 5-2 by the Islanders in Barrie, Ont. Riley Wetmore, Ryan Strome, Ryan Pulock and Brock Nelson scored for the Islanders. Evgeni Nabokov allowed one goal on 15 shots through two periods and Ken Reiter faced 11 shots in the third. Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored the lone Ottawa goal as Craig Anderson faced 23 shots. Head coach Paul MacLean was far from impressed by his teams performance and said it "left a sour taste in our mouth." While there was little to take from the game MacLean felt there was a valuable lesson to be learned. "This is a hard league and if you dont come prepared to play and work any team in this league can beat you," said MacLean. "That team that played us flat outworked us in every area of the game and deserved to win and that should give us a real good wake-up call going into next week." Whille players didnt want to make excuses, they admitted knowing it was the last game of the pre-season may have played a part in their poor showing. Nike Roshe One Flyknit Sneakers. "You want to end pre-season on a good note and feel good about yourselves and you certainly cant after that performance and the way the 20 guys played out there, but at the end of the day it didnt cost us any points," said Bobby Ryan. "(Friday) cant come soon enough. Its a long camp." The Senators seemed to struggle right from the start. Wetmore opened the scoring 16:48 into the first period. Anderson made the stop on Kirill Kabanovs wraparound, but Wetmore buried the rebound. Less than a minute later Strome put the Isles ahead 2-0. The Islanders made it 3-0 in the second on Pulocks power-play goal as he beat a screened Anderson. Nelsons goal just over three minutes later left MacLean fuming as he lit into his team during a commercial break. Shortly after the Senators showed some life as Pageau took a great pass from Cody Ceci to get on the board. Ottawa finally managed to create some chances in the third, but Reiter was solid in relief of Nabokov. The Senators will take Monday off and hit the ice Tuesday with the 22 or 23 players they expect to start the season with on Friday when they visit on the Buffalo Sabres.
