HALIFAX - Going from fan to fighter in five days, Chris (The Greek Assassin) Kelades made Canadian UFC history Saturday night. Air Max 90 Dames Roze . Kelades, a local flyweight replacing an injured fighter on the UFC televised Fight Night show, only found out Monday that he was on the card that he had bought tickets to see.He came into the fight against Patrick (The Hooligan) Holohan as a 3-1 or 4-1 underdog. But he emerged victorious, winning a unanimous 29-28 decision over the previously undefeated Irish fighter. In addition to the win, the only Nova Scotian on the card made history by becoming the first Canadian 125-pounder to fight in the UFC.Kelades, from nearby Cole Harbour, walked out to Jimi Hendrixs All Along the Watchtower and got a rock-star reception of his own from the soldout hometown crowd at the Scotiabank Centre. It was great, he said. It was a moment where I was starting to just get a little too excited and I was like OK, bring it down a little bit. Youve got to get the job done. And then you can kind of let it all hang out.But it was amazing. To know thats for you was pretty phenomenal. Both Kelades and Holohan earned an extra US$50,000 after their bout was named fight of the night. With veteran UFC lightweight T.J. Grant in his corner, the scrappy Kelades went after the bigger Holohan and got his attention with a straight right hand. But he ended the first round fighting off a choke with the Irish fighter on his back.In the second, Kelades (8-1) rammed a series of knees into Holohan, with the crowd cheering every one as if it was the main event. Kelades ended the round attempting an armbar after pounding away from the mount position.Holohan (10-1-1) needed work from his corner between rounds. But the Irish fighter, who had the benefit of his own home-town crowd when he won in Dublin in July, was smiling as the third round began.Kelades kept coming forward, taking Holohan down and blunting his offence as the crowd cheered him on.When the fight ended, he got up from the floor and put his hand in the air while the crowd gave him a standing ovation. He then ran around the cage with the Nova Scotia flag.Kelades admitted he was closer to 150 pounds than 140 pound when the UFC call came, triggering a condensed weight cut.He showed that at Fridays weigh-in, towelling every bead of sweat off before stripping naked and getting on the scale behind a towel. There was no such happy ending for Matt Dwyer of Kelowna, B.C., another UFC debutante.New Jersey-based Russian Albert (Einstein) Tumenov iced Dwyer with two kicks to the head — not easy against a six-foot-four welterweight. Dwyer amazingly got after the first — which slammed into his face with a thud — but was immediately felled again and the fight was stopped after 63 seconds.Dwyer (7-2) paused to watch the replay of the kicks as he made his way from the cage, an ugly mouse under his eye. He was taken to hospital after the bout to be checked out.Dwyer had won five straight before running into Tumenov (14-2).Charlottetown lightweight Jason Saggo (10-2) lost a split decision (28-29, 29-28, 28-29) to Paul (The Irish Dragon) Felder (9-0). Montreal lightweight Olivier Aubin-Mercier (6-1) submitted Jake (The Librarian) Lindsay (9-2) by inverted triangle choke at 3:22 of the second round.Canadian Rory (Ares) MacDonald, ranked No. 2 among welterweight contenders, faced former Strikeforce champion Tarec (Sponge) Saffiedine, ranked ninth, in the main event.Follow @NeilMDavidson on Twitter Air Max 90 Dames Wit .com) - Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki was named the National League Player of the Month for April. RALEIGH, N. Under Armour Micro g Anatomix Spawn II .C. - Elias Lindholm is on a serious roll for the Carolina Hurricanes, and sometimes he doesnt even have to look where hes shooting.Lindholm came through again on Friday night in Carolinas 3-2 overtime win over the Columbus Blue jackets, scoring with 37.8 second left in extra time. It came on a 4-on-3 power play and was Carolinas only success with the man advantage in seven tries in the game. The D-man took the pass away, so I shot it, said Lindholm, who has three game-winning goals in four games. I closed my eyes and shot it. Luckily, it went in.Lindholms offensive production has helped Carolina (4-6-2) win four straight after starting 0-6-2. He has points in each of the games.Carolina captain Eric Staal said Lindholm needs to keep it going.Lets ride that as long as we can, Staal said. Its a lot more fun being on this side than the other. Hes been real good for us.Carolina coach Bill Peters said the Hurricanes are as healthy as they have been all season with the exception of missing Jordan Staal, who is out for three or four months with a broken leg. Having an almost complete lineup is making the difference, he said. The doom and gloom, I dont think, ever got as bad as people think, Peters said. It now seems to be going our way a little bit, and now weve got to find a way again (against Washington).Scott Hartnell scored two goals for the Blue Jackets, who lost their seventh straight game. But Columbus (4-8-1) did earn a point in the standings as it played its first overtime game of the season.Columbus coach Todd Richards said his team gave Carolina too many chances on the power play, again. Carolina had six power plays when the teams played on Tuesday but converted none.We have to eliminate the penalties, Richards said. You arent going to find ways to win hockey games. We cant keep doing this.Carolinas Victor Rask tied the game at 2-2 with 8:09 left in the third period with a shot through traffic. The Hurricanes then had to kill off a late penalty on Brett Bellemore, who took an interference penalty with 4:09 left in regulation, to send the game into overtime.Carolina took the lead early in the second period. Jeff Skinner picked up a Columbus turnover deep in the Blue Jackets end and beat Curtis McElhinney at 2:43 for a 1-0 lead. It was his 99th career goal.Obviously, we ran into a little adversity at the beginning of the year, but we battled and worked through it, Skinner said. Its nice to see it paying off, and we want to keep it rolling as long as we can. Then Hartnell came alive for the Blue Jackets, who have scored half of their 30 goals this season in the second period. His first goal tied the game at 1-1 at 11:15. Hartnell gave the Blue Jackets the lead at 18:44 when he put a rebound by Carolina goalkeeper Cam Ward (4-3-1), who made his fifth straight start. Ward finished with 29 saves.Hartnell also saved a goal behind McElhinney when he jumped into the crease and cut off a puck that deflected off the post. McElhinney (0-3-1) finished with 32 saves.Carolina, which defeated the Blue Jackets in its last outing, continued to struggle on the power play against Columbus. The Hurricanes had an apparent power-play goal waved off in the first period after a review determined that Alexander Semin interfered with McElhinney in the crease.NOTES: Carolina scored the first goal of the game in its fourth straight outing. ... Carolina D Tim Gleason was out of the lineup with an undisclosed upper body injury. ... Columbus D Jack Johnson served the first of game of a three-game suspension for a check to the head of Carolinas Jiri Tlusty on Tuesday. Under Armour Outlet Ireland . First reported by FOX Sports Ken Rosenthal, its unknown if the impetus for the deferral proposal came from players or management, but it never left the preliminary stages. NEW YORK -- Rather than ban home plate collisions outright, Major League Baseball and its players adopted a rule limiting them this season. In what both sides said was a one-year experiment, the rule allows collisions if the catcher has the ball and is blocking the runners direct path to home plate, and if the catcher goes into the basepath to field a throw to the plate. "Its not a radical departure from what it had been," Tampa Bay Rays manager Joe Maddon said. The new rule, 7.13, states "a runner attempting to score may not deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher (or other player covering home plate)." A runner violating the rule shall be declared out, even if the fielder drops the ball. "Its good, I think it takes away the malicious intent behind the play at the plate," Texas Rangers catcher J.P. Arencibia said. "Obviously the runner doesnt always have to slide, and the catcher still has the ability to block the plate once he has the ball in hand." Along with the rule, the sides agreed to a pair of comments umpires use for interpretation. The first comment says "the failure by the runner to make an effort to touch the plate, the runners lowering of the shoulder, or the runners pushing through with his hands, elbows or arms, would support a determination that the runner deviated from the pathway in order to initiate contact with the catcher in violation." The comment says players who slide appropriately are not in violation of the rule. The second comment says that "unless the catcher is in possession of the ball, the catcher cannot block the pathway of the runner as he is attempting to score." The runner shall be declared safe if the catcher violates that provisiion. Stephen Curry Shoes Ireland. In addition, it is not a violation "if the catcher blocks the pathway of the runner in order to field a throw, and the umpire determines that the catcher could not have fielded the ball without blocking the pathway of the runner and that contact with the runner was unavoidable." "There are some things that often times can make the water a little muddy," union head Tony Clark said after meeting with the New York Yankees. "Over the course of the off-season, the concern was protecting players, but trying to draw up something that not only made sense on paper, but also was going to make sense to the players that were playing on the field." The umpire crew chief can use the new video-review system to determine whether the rule was violated. "It stops guys just going out of their way just to try to dislodge the baseball when they (catchers) have the plate," Texas Rangers manager Ron Washington said. Debate over plate collisions has intensified since May 2011, when San Franciscos Buster Posey was injured as the Marlins Scott Cousins crashed into him at the plate. Posey, an All-Star catcher, sustained a broken bone in his lower left leg and three torn ligaments in his ankle, an injury that ended his season. In Game 5 of last years AL championship series, Detroit backstop Alex Avila was pulled a couple of innings after being run over at the plate by Bostons David Ross, a fellow catcher. "I think its fair. A runners path is to home plate," Oakland catcher Derek Norris said. "Any deviation and hes not trying to score, hes trying to harm. A runner going out of the basepath trying to break up a double play is declared out. This is the same concept as a double-play slide." BIRMINGHAM, England -- Aston Villa has suspended the assistant manager and a key off-field official as the club fights to stay in the English Premier League. http://www.designershoesaleie.com/yellow-green-adidas-springblade-5-men-s-running-shoes.html . The sudden announcement on Tuesday comes with Villa just four points above the relegation zone with five games remaining. The central England club says Ian Culverhouse, assistant to manager Paul Lambert, and Gary Karsa, the head of football operations, have been suspended pending an internal investigation. Further details were not provided. Villa says goalkeeper Shay Given and development coach Gordon Cowans have been temporarily promoted to assist Lambert. Given says "as players, its important that each and every one of us take responsibility right now and Im delighted to play my part in helping the manager." Villas next game is against Southampton on Saturday. Adidas Springblade Shoes Online . Hemsky left the Oilers Tuesday night loss to the Dallas Stars in the second period and did not return. Next years tournament is also within sight for Bosnia-Herzegovina, which has never played in a World Cup, but Cristiano Ronaldo looks destined for the playoffs with Portugal after a night when the qualifying picture in the nine groups became much clearer. With less than one week to go until the March 5 NHL trade deadline, TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger has the latest on Vancouvers Ryan Kesler, Buffalos Tyler Myers, and Ottawas Chris Phillips and offers some insight on their situations and potential trade status. We heard Ryan Kesler say on Thursday that theres nothing to the latest rumours that he has asked for a trade. So are we done with it, or is this a case where its "where theres smoke, theres fire?" Darren Dreger: There has to have been some level of dialogue between Ryan Kesler and the Vancouver Canucks, or the Canucks telling Kesler that they need to improve, they need to get younger, they need to add a bit more offensive punch. Theyre going to start sifting some names out there to rival teams and his name is going to be among them. Because heres what I know. I know that teams were contacted as far back as a month ago to say have a look at our roster. If there is a member of this organization that you want to take a run at then were listening, were open for business. And that includes Ryan Kesler. How realistic is it that he could be dealt by next Wednesdays deadline? Dreger: Its a complicated deal because Kesler is a valuable asset of the Vancouver Canucks. Hes got a contract that makes a lot of sense. Financially, he is sound. He is a bargain, frankly, as long as he playys up to his level of potential. http://www.designershoesaleie.com/navy-blue-orange-adidas-neo-lite-racer-men-s-women-s-shoes.html. But is it realistic? Yes, because of the interest that will be out there. There will be interest from so many different teams, and we know as I said earlier that the Canucks have reached out. But the Canucks need premium return to make this deal a reality and six days away from the trade deadline is not a lot of time to close on such a big deal. What are you hearing about two defencemen at opposite ends of their careers, 35-year-old Chris Phillips and 24-year-old Tyler Myers? Dreger: In terms of Phillips, theres a negotiation thats ongoing between the Ottawa Senators and Phillips to keep him a lifer in Ottawa. If that doesnt go well, if Phillips doesnt like the offer that has been presented, then Bryan Murray may have to make a very difficult decision. There would be interest in Chris Phillips, a veteran player, very sound defensively, maybe hes a good fit with the Boston Bruins. In terms of Myers, there is considerable interest according to sources close to the Buffalo Sabres. But GM Tim Murray isnt trying to push this guy out the door. Is he available? Is he interested in moving him? Yes he is. Were looking at Toronto as potentially a fit, as would be the Anaheim Ducks. And the Colorado Avalanche are definitely looking for a defenceman. So there will be options, but come ready to pay a premium. Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

INGLEWOOD, Calif. Under Armour Curry One For Sale . -- Juan Manuel Marquez fought 12 times at the Forum in the early days of his record-setting career, and the Mexican champion fondly remembers almost every round. Even as an unknown featherweight prospect, Marquez loved the crackling atmosphere of the 1990s fight cards at the once-Fabulous Forum, where Lakers owner Jerry Buss indulged his passion for boxing by putting on hundreds of shows. Hollywood glitterati and hard-core fight fans mingled in Buss famed arena, which fell into decline after the Lakers and the NHLs Kings moved downtown to Staples Center in 1999. The Forum still holds a beloved place in the minds of California sports fans -- and after 13 years of inactivity, the building is back in the boxing business. Marquez (55-7-1, 40 KOs) gets the privilege of re-christening a building where he has never lost. "I feel very happy, because I get to fight in a great place," said Marquez, who made his Forum debut in 1995. "It is a beautiful, historical place." Marquez is hoping to revive the excitement when he takes on Mike Alvarado (34-2, 23 KOs) on Saturday night at the Forum, which has been rehabilitated by The Madison Square Garden Co. with everything from a fresh coat of red exterior paint to a thoroughly refurbished interior. Marquezs welterweight showdown with the hard-punching Alvarado live on HBO is the first fight card since 2001 at the Forum, where dozens of Mexican and American boxers got their first big fights. Its also the place where Top Ranks Bob Arum promoted Muhammad Alis second fight with Ken Norton in 1973, back when Jack Kent Cooke owned the building. "I really missed it when they closed the Forum as an entertainment and sports venue," Arum said. "They used it as a church for a while, and nothing pleases me more than that it is back as a sports venue and hosting a boxing event." Arum put together a compelling main event for the Forums return. Although both fighters are coming off a loss, Marquez and Alvarado are among two of the worlds most entertaining fighters at their weights, with Alvarados boldness and brawling instincts contrasting nicely with Marquezs skill and counterpunching. Marquez has won world championships in four weight classes, and a victory over Alvarado would set him up for a shot at a fifth title at 147 pounds. The winner of this bout is likely to fight Manny Pacquiao in the fall, which means Marquez would get a fifth bout with the Filipino congressman after winning their fourth meeting by spectacular knockout. "I concentrate only on this fight," Marquez said. "Maybe in the future Ill think about that fight, but right now, the most important fight of my career is against Alvarado, because he is a strong fighter and a tough fighter." Alvarado is eager to bounce back from a difficult loss to Ruslan Provodnikov, who stopped Alvarado and took his 140-pound title last fall. While Alvarado would love the career-changing opportunity of a fight with Pacquiao, hes grateful for the chance to fight Marquez, who ranks right alongside Pacquiao among their generations best boxers. "Im here to put on a better show and perform at a higher level," Alvarado said. "This is where I belong, and Im going to show that this weekend." Although the main event is compelling, the return of boxing to the Forum will evoke fond memories for veterans of the fight game. Arum is hoping the card creates new excitement in Inglewood for future visits in an area already featuring several excellent boxing venues, including the outdoor StubHub Center in Carson. "I see that a lot of the fighters (for this weekend) are staying at the Marriott at the airport," Arum said. "When we did the Ali-Norton II fight, that was the fight headquarters as well. That was what, 41 years ago? Oh my, I was a thin, young handsome guy. Now Im an old, fat guy. It was a great night, a good fight. Norton gave Ali trouble. The fight at the Forum was very close, and Ali pulled it out." Under Armour Basketball Shoes UK . 4 jersey of former defenseman Rob Blake this coming season. And Kyle Lowry, the player who has so often carried them down the stretch, was in the locker-room getting treatment for a sore and swollen knee. But with DeMar DeRozan leading the way, the Raptors showed the resiliency that has become part of their makeup this season en route to a 107-103 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday. "Every win is great for us right now for what were trying to do, especially with Kyle out and Amir (Johnson) out," said Raptors coach Dwane Casey. "Hopefully it gives our guys some confidence. . . guys who stepped in, to go where we need to go." Johnson missed all but the first three minutes with an ankle injury. DeRozan poured in 29 points, and was key in the fourth quarter, doling out a couple of assists and uncharacteristically taking a charge. "Those are the winning plays that hes learning to make and hes making now, other than just scoring," Casey said. "Hes doing a great job of scoring but theres so many other things when he plays those kinds of minutes, especially now with Kyle out, hes got to do a lot more." When he somehow cut his finger with just over three minutes to go, he continued to play despite the blood that was smeared across his shorts. "I kind of split the middle of my hand, the webbing of my hand, I didnt even notice," said DeRozan, who estimated he had four or five stitches. "I looked down and my whole hand was soaked." Jonas Valanciunas and Greivis Vasquez added 15 points apiece, and Terrence Ross finished with 14 for the Raptors (43-32). James Harden scored 26 points to top the Rockets (49-25), who were missing Dwight Howard (ankle) for the third consecutive game. Chandler Parsons added 20. Lowry missed the game after a hard knee-on-knee collision with LeBron James in the Raptors 93-83 loss to Miami two nights earlier. His X-rays were negative, so there was no structural damage. Johnson played the first three minutes but headed to the locker-room with a sore right ankle. But despite the absence of not only two of the teams top contributors but arguably its two hardest workers, the Raptors werent going to let this game slip away. With seven games to go, every game is meaningful as the Raptors fight for a favourable opponent in the post-season and homecourt advantage. Vasquez, who started at point guard, said its no surprise that DeRozan and the Raptors stepped up so well in Lowrys absence. "Its not hidden that (DeRozan and Lowry) are our leaders. We go as they go. And everybody else understands that," said Vasquez. "This is why we have a healthy locker-room, were not fighting egos, we know whats going on. Those two guys are going to score, those two guys are going to make winning plays. And whenever one of those guys goes down, weve got their back. Thats what this team is all about. "This is not a fluke. We earn wins, and we earned a win tonight." Houston, which has now dropped seven straight decisions in Toronto, was coming off a 105-96 loss the previous night at Brooklyn, and arrrived in Toronto at 3 a. UA Curry 2.5 UK. m. Wednesday. The Raptors led by as much as 20 points in the third against the fourth-place team in the mighty Western Conference. But they allowed the Rockets to pull within 90-80 heading into the fourth and it was during a stretch in the final 12 minutes that the Raptors really felt the absence of Lowry and Johnson. The Rockets pulled within two points with 8:45 to play but that was as close as the visitors would get, and when a wide-open Ross drained a three-pointer with four minutes to play it brought the crowd to its feet and gave Toronto a six-point lead. There were some tense moments as Houston showed some life late. Jeremy Lin drained a three-pointer to cut Torontos lead to three points with nine seconds left, but a free throw by Vasquez sealed the Raptors victory. "We are a team that is desperate for a win right now," Lin said. "Weve dropped three in a row, definitely not a good feeling. We just have to regroup. The one thing I will say is that Im proud of how hard we played but we didnt play great in terms of execution, in terms of coverage and a lot of those little things." As for Lowrys knee injury, Casey said sitting his starting guard wasnt a matter of getting him rest. Wednesdays game was one the coach really wanted to win, so if Lowry could have played, he would have. "Theres a pride factor, you want to win, you want to win a division, you want to win and try and get home court," Casey said. "Were in position, so theres no use of letting off the pedal now. Every game for me is desperate. "But its not live or die or anything like that, were not going to risk a kids health to try to do that." Lowry is averaging 17.4 points, 7.6 assists and 4.8 rebounds. Johnson, whos averaging 10.8 points and 6.8 boards, has long battled bad ankles, but the hardworking forward normally plays through the pain. The fact he left the game is worrisome. The Raptors are tied with Chicago for third in the Eastern Conference and two-and-a-half games ahead of Brooklyn. The good news is Wednesdays game was the Raptors last against a Western Conference opponent. And of the remaining games, Toronto plays last-place Milwaukee twice, and Philadelphia (second-last) once. The Raptors got off to a sloppy start, falling behind by 12 points midway through the first quarter. Toronto ended the quarter with a 12-2 run capped by a three-pointer by Vasquez and trailed 25-23 heading into the second. DeRozan led the way with 15 points in a second quarter that Toronto finish with a 13-4 run, and when the Raptors all-star drilled a 32-footer at the buzzer it sent Toronto into the dressing room with a 55-50 lead. A pair of free throws by Salmons gave the Raptors a 20-point lead -- their biggest of the game -- with just under four minutes to go in the third. But the Rockets finished with an 18-8 run to make it a 10-point game with a quarter to go. NOTES: The Raptors have another tough game Friday when they host the Indiana Pacers. The Raptors are in Milwaukee on Saturday before returning home to face the Sixers and New York Knicks. . . Toronto FC midfielder Dwayne DeRosario was at the game. Sunderland took the lead on the stroke of half-time through Jermain Defoe, and looked as though they were going to take the three points away from St James Park until Aleksandar Mitrovics 83rd-minute header. Its the second time in as many games that Sunderland have dropped two points late on, after conceding in the 90th minute against Southampton a fortnight ago. Jermain Defoe (second right) put Sunderland ahead Its like Southampton all over again for us, Allardyce told Sky Sports. If we dont start getting these clean sheets it will be a massive problem for us. Were a team that has to score at least two goals to win a game and thats a fact, so sadly we didnt get the second goal.We had enough chances to put the game to bed. Second half I dont know why we sat in, it worried me why they did that and let Newcastle come onto them, rather than playing like we did for most of the game. TORONTO - Although no one cared to admit it, on either side, at the outset of the evening, Mondays divisional grudge match in Brooklyn meant more to the Raptors than the game that preceded it or the one to follow. http://www.gazelleogsoldes.fr/noir-blanche-orange-adidas-neo-daily-bind-vulcanized-homme-chaussures.html . The stakes were higher, the competition more fierce and the atmosphere was that of a playoff game - something the young, upstart Raptors have five weeks to better prepare themselves for or the result will be eerily similar. If they looked out of place in that environment, its probably because they were. Torontos starting five features a fifth-year star that has yet to make a playoff appearance. Theyre the only team currently in a playoff position that starts two sophomores and its been five years since either their point guard or power forward has experienced postseason basketball. Combined that lineup accounts for 24 games of postseason experience. Staring them down in the final minute of a one-possession, high stakes game was a Nets unit that has collectively participated in 268 playoff contests. Paul Pierce alone is responsible for 136 of them while Kevin Garnett and Andrei Kirilenko - both out with injuries - would have added another 176. The Nets took a five-point advantage into the fourth quarter and, for all their hardships this season, they had only lost one of 30 games in which they held the lead after 36 minutes. Thats the difference experience makes. The Raptors, despite a valiant effort, showed up to a knife fight armed with plastic forks. "This team here in Brooklyn is a championship-caliber team," Dwane Casey said following his teams 101-97 loss. "They know the plays to make to win games. Weve still got to learn that. Were on our way but we still have some learning to do." Although the Raptors remain the NBAs best fourth-quarter team, outscoring opponents by 158 points in the final frame this season, their late-game execution continues to be a work in progress. When ahead or behind by five points or less in the final three minutes, Toronto shoots 37 per cent, the ninth-lowest mark in the league. Theyre 15-18 in games that come down to that scenario. On Monday, Pierce hit what may have been the biggest shot of the night - a cold-blooded three to break a tie with just over a minute left and the shot clock ticking down - while the Raptors wilted in the moment. Down one, 30 seconds later, Toronto got the stop it needed, leading to a five-on-four break the other way. In the midst of a brilliant second half, Kyle Lowry found DeMar DeRozan in transition, believing he would continue to go hard to the bucket. Met by Pierce in the lane, DeRozan lateraled back to Lowry, who wasnt expecting the pass and turned down the shot. John Salmons, receiving the ball from Lowry, also hesitated on an open look from the elbow, which ultimately led to Terrence Ross fumbling the ball as he looked to salvage the broken play. It was a possession mired in indecision and it sealed Torontos fate. The Nets - 10-for-14 from three-point range after the first quarter - hit big shots and made winning plays. They looked like the desperate team, and rightfully so. Had they won, the Raptors would be sitting pretty in the Atlantic Division, five games up on Brooklyn with the season-series tiebreaker in hand. Instead, Brooklyn has pulled within three games of the division lead. "[The atmosphere] was definitely a notch higher because of what was at stake," DeRozan admitted after the game. "Theyre chasing us and were leading in the division. It was just a big game overall. Theyve been playing well, trying to make a playoff push and were trying to sustain our position so it definitely was a big game." While the loss stings, the Raptors are still in the drivers seat, controlling their own destiny with 20 games to go. "It was a disappointing loss in the fact that theyre a team thats battling us for the division," Casey said. "Theres still a lot of basketball left to play. Weve got to stay positive. Its not the end of the world. We werent going to go undefeated the rest of the way. We knew that." Should Toronto and Brooklyn share the same record atop the Atlantic when its all said and done, with the season series now even, the tiebreaker would go to the team with the most wins within the division. The Raptors are currently 8-3 with five games left to be played against Atlantic opponents while the Nets are 7-5 with four remaining. Each of those games could be crucial - including two meetings with New York in the final week of the season - for the Raptors who are hoping to win their second division title in franchise history. Sink or swim, that will be determined by what theyre able to take out of Mondays squandered opportunity. "Its a learning experience," DeRozan said. "It was a heck of a game that we can learn from and possibly could be a team we could see in the playoffs." Adidas Stan Smith Noir . - The Denver Broncos kept rookie wide receiver Tavarres King from joining the Green Bay Packers by promoting him to their active roster Tuesday. Adidas Zx 500 Og Homme . Kripps, of Summerland, B.C., and Edmontons Barnett used a terrific second run to move up two spots, putting the Canadian duo in medal contention with the final two runs set for Monday (11:15 a.m. ET, streaming live at cbc. http://www.gazelleogsoldes.fr/rouge-blanche-femme-adidas-neo-daily-bind-vulcanized-chaussures.html .com) - The Vancouver Canucks will try to win two straight games for the first time since mid-January on Monday night as they play host to the struggling New York Islanders.Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - You want to know how important the Seattle Mariners signing of Nelson Cruz was? They dont have to do another thing this offseason and they will be my pick to win the American League West. Now with that said, I dont think they are done just yet. Seattle went into this offseason intent on upgrading its lineup - as it did last winter when it signed Robinson Cano. Yes they probably overpaid Cano, but they had to land one superstar to get another. Felix Hernandez or not, Seattle just wasnt a popular landing spot for free agents. It seemed to be the same story every offseason for the Mariners. They were in on every big bat available, yet theyd land nobody. Or anyone who would make a difference. Thats why the Cano signing last winter was so important. The ground work was being laid for something much bigger. And they knew more had to be done. Cano may have watched his power numbers decline in spacious Safeco Field, but he remained one of the best left-handed hitters in the game, despite having little or no protection in a lineup that ranked second to last in the AL last season with a .244 average. Seattle, and Cano for that matter, desperately needed some help from the right-side of the plate, as the Mariners .604 OPS by right-handed hitters in 2014 was the lowest for any team since the 1988 Pittsburgh Pirates. The right-handed hitting Cruz, meanwhile, had a .977 OPS against left-handed pitchers. As good as Cano was a year ago, hell be even bettter with Cruz, the only player in the league last season to hit 40 home runs. http://www.gazelleogsoldes.fr/chaussures-homme-adidas-ultra-boost-noir-or.html. . Even at 34 years of age, Cruz will drastically upgrade a designated hitter spot for the Mariners that last season produced an awful .190/.266/.301 line with 15 home runs and 50 RBI. Of course Safeco Field will likely sap some of Cruz power, but the majority of his power numbers last season came on the road rather than the hitter friendly confines of Camden Yards. Cruz hit .289 with 25 homers and 68 RBI away from home last year opposed to the 15 HRs and 40 RBI in Baltimore. Regardless, hes a nice piece to slot in between Cano and third baseman Kyle Seager, who recently inked a $100 million extension. And the Mariners arent done. They are still in on outfielders Matt Kemp, Justin Upton and Yoenis Cespedes. Of the three the Mariners would probably prefer Kemp since he is signed through 2019, whereas Cespedes and Upton can become a free agents after this season. Its no secret that the Los Angels Dodgers - like many other teams - covet Mariners right-handed pitching prospect Taijuan Walker, but Seattle doesnt seem inclined to include him in a deal for Kemp or anyone else for that matter. This much is certain. With King Felix, Hisashi Iwakuma, James Paxton and yes, even Walker, along with what was the best bullpen in the AL a year ago, the Mariners have enough pitching to win. Their lineup has to catch up. Signing Cruz was a nice next step. Now we wait for whats coming next. Ahead of the Champions League final in Milan between Madrid rivals Real and Atletico, Sky Sports Spanish football expert Guillem Balague selects his combined XI. Maillot Lebron James Adidas ... and there is no place for Gareth Bale. Balagues team - 4-3-3: Jan Oblak; Juanfran, Sergio Ramos, Diego Godin, Marcelo; Saul Niguez, Luka Modric, Koke; Antoine Griezmann, Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo. In goal, there is little to choose between Jan Oblak and Keylor Navas, although Oblak has had fewer shots to deal with this season. He is comfortable with the ball at his feet, strong on crosses, good on one-on-one situations and unquestionably the best goalkeeper in La Liga this season. I believe above all he is also a better example of what is expected these days from a modern goalkeeper, although it must also be said that Navas is certainly no slouch. Jan Oblak has been in fine form for Atletico this season In central defence, there is little to choose between the two sides, although in the area of full backs Dani Carvajal and Marcelo are not, in my opinion, as good defensively as Juanfran and Filipe Luis are.One thing is unquestionable; Real Madrids front three is without a single shadow of a doubt more powerful than Atleticos. Saul Niguez makes Balagues combined XI in midfield Granted, with a conversion rate of just 13 per cent, and despite a staggering goal tally this season, Ronaldo is unquestionably less efficient that he was. We look at the best of Real Madrids Cristiano Ronaldo in La Liga this season But nobody in Europe has more shots than him, and he ends the season in a rich vein of goalscoring form. While he is not at his physical peak, he is certainly in better nick than he was before his last Champions League final, and the World Cup back in 2014. Antoine Griezmann has scored 32 goals for Atletico this season He will certainly be looking to make a serious impact on this game and to that end will be ably supported by the excellent Karim Benzema. who has more than compensated for him when he has fallen slightly short. Watch Griezmanns finest moments for Atletico in the Primera Division in 2015/16 The jewel in Atleticos attacking crown comes in the shape of Antoine Griezmann, who just gets better and better. He is now, in my opinion, one of the top five players in world football, not just because of his individual brilliance, but also because of his overall contribution with and without the ball for the teams cause. TORONTO -- One major question mark from the Toronto Argonauts pre-season seems to have resolved itself -- thats the strength of the quarterbacks. Ricky Ray, Trevor Harris and Mitchell Gale all threw touchdown passes for Toronto as the Argos romped to a 41-23 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Thursday, the CFL pre-season finale for both teams. Ray, the Argos star QB who set a CFL single-season completion record last year, played less than a quarter but was solid in his first game action this season. "I felt I was able to see things the way I wanted to," Ray said. "Last year I played an even shorter period of time (in the pre-season). I feel like things were pretty smooth for the most part, I felt like the speed of the game wasnt something I had to adjust to, so that was good. "I feel ready to go." Ray completed seven of nine pass attempts for 90 yards and a touchdown. Harris was 8-for-16 for 86 yards, one touchdown and an interception, while Gale was 10-for-11 for 131 yards and one TD. The game, played in front of a capacity crowd of 5,216 fans at a sun-drenched Varsity Stadium -- normally the home to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues -- marked the first meeting between the two teams since the Tiger-Cats ended the Argos 2013 season, with a 36-24 Eastern final victory. It was also the first time Ray and his Argos understudy last season Zach Collaros had faced each other since Collaros was released then signed as a free agent with Hamilton in the off-season. Collaros, the Tiger-Cats most significant off-season acquisition, completed 13 of 18 passes and threw for 196 yards and one touchdown. "Its tough not having him here, hes a good guy, good player," Ray said of his former teammte. "But its also exciting to see him get his chance and play. He played really well tonight and I think hes going to have a great year." Ray missed eight games last season to injury so having a competent quarterback behind him will be important. Harris appears ready to step into that role, with Gale and Casey Pachall waiting in the wings. The roster deadline for CFL teams is 11:59 p.m. on Saturday. "Its hard at this point, well have to go back home and watch the film but some guys certainly stepped up and did what they needed to do," said Argos coach Scott Milanovich. "So well have to see who those guys were and make some decisions (Friday) or Saturday." Milanovich was pleased with Gale, receiver Terrell Sinkfield, who caught five passes for 100 yards, running back Jeremiah Johnson, who scored on a 24-yard run, and the entire defensive line. The Argos had a whopping nine sacks on the night. "They put some pressure on the quarterback most of the night, and thats something were looking for. It was very good to see," Milanovich said. "Its a pre-season game, lets not overstate what it was, but it was good to see. It was good thhey were getting after him. Maillot Kyrie Irving Blanc. " Argos linebacker Shea Emry spent a good chunk of the first half on the trainers table, getting his hip stretched out. He never returned to the game, but said it was just normal tightness that comes from training camp. Emry enjoyed watching the strong play of the Argos defence from the sidelines. "Thats our defence, thats what we expect out of those guys," he said. "They went out and did their jobs, and the defensive backs were obviously doing their jobs, and it was fun to see those guys flying around." The game -- the final dress rehearsal for the real deal -- had the hard-hitting feeling of a regular-season affair. "I think some of that comes with momentum when you get a couple of big hits early, especially when youre getting after the quarterback, it kind of galvanizes the team and gets the blood flowing," Milanovich said. "There was a lot of jobs on the line tonight, those guys understood it. This is their last chance to prove they deserve to be here." Ticats kicker Justin Medlock had two field goals -- 40 and 49 yards -- and two converts. The Argos Swayze Waters kicked five converts, and Josh Jasper added field goals from 16 and 40 yards for Toronto. Ray played the first quarter and found Chad Owens over the middle for a 27-yard touchdown at 6:43. Tavoy Moore fumbled a punt return that bounced into the Ticats end zone at 3:17, and Jermaine Gabriel pounced on the ball for a second Toronto TD. The Argos led 14-3 to end the first quarter. Harris took over and marched the Argos 75 yards, throwing a two-yard touchdown pass to Jason Barnes at 11:08 of the second, and the Argos led 21-6. Luke Tasker scored Hamiltons first touchdown 58 seconds before halftime, catching a 48-yard pass from Collaros, and then a two-yarder to score and send the teams into the dressing room with Argos leading 21-13. The Argos went with Gale in the third, and he threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Darvin Adams at 8:58, putting the home team up 28-13. With 2:13 left in the third, Johnson had a beautiful 24-yard run for a touchdown, making multiple Tiger-Cats defenders miss on his way to the end zone. That put Toronto up 35-13. Hamilton linebacker Abraham Kromah grabbed a deflected Pachall pass and ran six yards into the end zone to pull the Tiger-Cats to within 35-23 with four minutes to play. Sinkfield made a spectacular diving catch on a bomb from Pachall with 2:45 left to put Toronto within scoring distance, and Jasper connected on a 16-yard field goal to cap the series. The Argos were coming off a 24-22 victory over the Blue Bombers in Winnipeg a week earlier. The Ticats had beaten the Montreal Alouettes 28-23 in the exhibition opener for both those teams last Saturday. NOTES: The Argos open the 2014 season next Thursday at Winnipeg, while the Ticats are in Saskatchewan on June 29 to battle the Roughriders. Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn. Curry 2 Elite Canada .ca. Hi Kerry: I was watching the Hawks-Blue Jackets game on Friday night - the game in which the Hawks scored with less than four seconds remaining to claim victory. My question concerns the face-off for that game-winning goal. Let me describe what I saw the previous play. With less than thirty seconds remaining, the puck was shot on the ice in front of the Jackets bench. Two Jacket players jumped on to the ice while two others went to the bench. The puck went just inside the Jackets zone where a Jacket defender got the puck with just over 20 seconds left. A linesman whistled down the play indicating that the Jackets had too many men on the ice and there would be a penalty with a faceoff deep in their end. As it turned out, the two referees counted the players on the ice and determined there were not too many players and NO penalty would be assigned. The face-off was still held deep in Jacket territory. The Hawks took control from the face-off and scored. My question to you is should not that face-off been held outside the Jackets blue line or at centre because the linesman blew down the play incorrectly? Since the Jackets had control of the puck when the "too many men" whistle blew, it seems to me unfair they should be penalized with the deep faceoff. Im sure the Leafs, Flyers and Devils agree with the call; however, I didnt and I am a Hawks fan. Could you please give me your take on this as I am sure it cost the Blue Jackets a very important point or two. Thanks, Doug MacLean --- Hi Doug: I have little doubt that the former Blue Jackets GM with the same name as yours would have been waiting near the officials dressing room looking for some clarification on this play as well if he still occupied that position. The linesman clearly made an error in judgment when he determined the Blue Jackets were in violation of rule 74 - too many men on the ice - with 21.6 seconds remaining in regulation. Even though play was stopped through an officials error the face-off location in this case is determined by where the puck was last played under rule 76.2. “When the game is stopped for any reason not specifically covered in the official rules, the puck must be faced-off at a face-off spot in the zone nearest to where it was last played.” Defenceman Jack Johnson had the puck on his stick a couple of feet inside the Blue Jackets end zone when the linesman blew his whistle to stop play. As per rule 76.2 the face-off had to be conducted on the nearest end-zone face-off dot of the Blue Jackets. The only provision within the rules to relocate a face-off in the neutral zone following a linesmans error is contained in rule 81.2 - If the linesman shall have erred in calling an “icing the puck” infraction (regardless of whether either team is short-handed), the puck shall be faced-off on the center face-off dot. It is most unfortunate for the Blue Jackets that the whistle was not blown by the linesman when Jack Johnson first touched the puck when it rested on the blue line and prior to entering the defending zone. Had that been the case, the ensuing faceoff would have taken place on the neutral zone face-off dot. It might be unfair, Doug, that the Blue Jackets lost so much territorial advantage following the linesmans error but there was no option to locate the face-off in the neutral zone on this play. While the Blue Jackets did have some opportunities to get the puck out of their end zone following the face-off with 21.6 seconds remaining, I acknowledge it was a tough way for a team to lose such an important game. The first of the three games will be played in Week 4, when the Oakland Raiders will take on the Miami Dolphins on Sept.ST. LOUIS - It didnt take Tony Cruz long to consider all of his home runs and rank his latest. Hes only had three in his 100-game career and the first two came on the road. Cruz hit a three-run homer and the St. Louis Cardinals connected three times, beating the Cincinnati Reds 8-4 on Saturday night and moving closer to their fourth straight playoff berth. "It was a really good feeling," said Cruz, who also had the first curtain call of his career. "The first one of the year is always a really good feeling and my first one at home. You know you hear the crowd. Its amazing." Milwaukee beat second-place Pittsburgh 1-0 on Saturday to give the St. Louis a 3 1/2-game lead in the NL Central. The Cardinals cut their magic number to one for clinching a post-season berth, and five for their second NL Central title in a row. Kolten Wong and Randal Grichuk also homered as St. Louis won for the seventh time in eight games. The Cardinals have hit five homers in the past two games, but have just 104 for the season — among the lowest total in the majors. Their lack of power has provided an ongoing issue manager Mike Matheny has had to address. "I like the home runs," Matheny said in his postgame interview. "You guys always accuse me of not liking them, but especially those three-runners that Tony did. We know we have the kind of team that can do that and its nice to see them." Cincinnatis four runs were as many as it scored in the previous five games. The Reds have lost six in row and has been outscored 30-8 in that stretch. They are 20-40 since the All-Star break. "Youre seeing us having to go out there and really struggle so mightily to try to find a way to win a ball game," manager Bryan Price said. "Certainly nobodys enjoying this current portion of our schedule. The way weve played for the last 60 games has been miserable." Jason Motte (1-0) needed just three pitches and one out to earn the win. He came in relief of starter Michael Wacha and got Todd Frazier to foul out to right. NOBLESVILLE, Ind. UA Scorpio . - Prosecutors charged Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay with two misdemeanour counts Friday stemming from his intoxicated driving arrest near his home in March. Hamilton County prosecutors said Irsay was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle with a schedule I or II controlled substance or its metabolite in the body, which carry maximum penalties of 60 days in jail and $500 fines for each count. A probable cause affidavit said Irsay was driving under the influence of oxycodone and/or hydrocodone, both powerful painkillers. Irsay was arrested near his home at about 3 a.m. on March 16 with $29,000 in cash and bottles of prescription drugs in his vehicle. Police said Irsay denied being drunk and told an officer he had taken several prescription medications during the day. A police report said the 54-year-old billionaire was so disoriented that officers made him sit on the hood of a patrol car to keep him from falling, and that he had trouble reciting the alphabet. Police had filed four preliminary felony counts of possession of a controlled substance, charges that each carried possible sentences of six months to three years in prison. Prosecutors took weeks before deciding to file the misdemeanour charges instead. The Indianapolis law office representing Irsay, Voyles, Zahn & Paul, released a statement thanking the prosecutors office for its professionalism in handing the investigation and "for devoting the necessary care and attention to determine the facts in this matter did not warrant the filing of felony charges relative to Mr. Irsays prescription medications." Colts spokesman Avis Roper declined immediate comment. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is still reviewing the matter. "The NFLs Personal Conduct Policy applies to all league personnel and holds all of us accountable. We are reviewing the matter and will take appropriate action in accordance with the policy," he said in an email. There are few examples of the league punishing an owner like Irsay. Detroit Lions president Tom Lewand was suspended for 30 days and fined $100,000 in 2010 for violating the NFLs personal conduct policy following his guilty plea to driving while impaired. The police report said Irsay stumbled out of his SUV and failed field sobriety tests. After Irsay refused a blood draw, a judge approved a search warrant to draw his blood. Refusing the blood test means Irsays drivers license will be automatically suspended for one year. An initial hearing is scheduled for June 19. Irsay was supposed to have an initial hearing on March 25, but that hearing was postponed because he had been admitted to an out-of-state medical facility for inpatient treatment, the prosecutors office said. His family said at the time he was undergoing treatment "to help him meet his challenges head-on." Irsay acknowledged in 2002 that he had become dependent on painkillers after several years of orthopedic operations but said he had overcome the problem. Irsay resumed his duties with the Colts at the NFL draft earlier this month and earlier this week he made the unsuccessful personal pitch to his fellow owners on behalf of Indianapolis bid to host the 2018 Super Bowl. Irsay became the Colts owner in 1997 after the death of his father, Robert Irsay, and a lengthy legal battle with his fathers second wife. Forbes magazine has estimated Irsays net worth at $1.6 billion. He has helped build the Colts into a top NFL team over the past decade behind quarterback Peyton Manning, now with Denver, and was a key player in the drive to bring the Super Bowl to Indianapolis two years ago. He is working with some success to rebuild the team behind young quarterback Andrew Luck while coping with a divorce that follows a decade-long separation from his wife of 33 years. Hamilton leads Rosberg by 24 points with 75 available going into the last two races. The title will not be decided in Brazil as the season-ending race in Abu Dhabi will be worth double points. Hamilton can win his second world title with consecutive second-place finishes or a third in Brazil and a second in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 23.As they did for most of the season, the Mercedes drivers led throughout the practice sessions, which were run under dry conditions at Interlagos. It was a very normal day for us, Rosberg said. There was a lot of understeer early but after we solved the problem the car was very fast, as always. I liked the result.Hamilton doesnt think he needs to improve a lot to catch up with his teammate.I just need to put a lap together, he said. The newly-resurfaced track offered little grip compared to previous years and was especially slippery in the afternoon under warmer temperatures. Several drivers span and went off the track, including Hamilton a few times. The track is really difficult to drive in these temperatures, he said over the team radio. Both practices had to be briefly red flagged four times, including when Force Indias Spanish test driver Daniel Juncadella crashed into a tire barrier in the first session. He was not injured. There will be another practice on Saturday before qualifying.Fernando Alonso of Ferrari finished seventh but had his day cut short in the second session after his engine appeared to blow up. The incident caused one of the red flags.Raikkonen also went off the track several times in both sessions before managing to finish with the third-fastest time.Home crowd favourite Felipe Massa, a two-time winner in Brazil, finished sixth, one spot behind Williams teammate Valtteri Bottas.Red Bull, which has won four of the last five races in Brazil, struggled in the first session but picked up the pace in the second with Daniel Ricciardo finishing fourth. Sebastian Vettel, who at one point said there were some serious problems with his car, ended ninth.McLarens Jenson Button, still uncertain about his future in F1 next season, had mechanical problems and was the only driver without a timed lap in the first session. He was only 16th in the second. There will be only 18 cars again on the grid this weekend as Marussia and Caterham continue to deal with financial problems. Marussia was shut down on Friday and Caterham launched a crowdfunding project to ease its financial difficulties and return to the grid for the final grand prix.Hamilton is going for his sixth win in a row and 11th in the season, both of which would be a first for a British driver. Rosberg has four victories. Neither driver has won in Brazil.Mercedes has placed 1-2 in 10 of the 17 races this year, and clinched the constructors championship with three races to spare. It has 14 victories between the two drivers, one short of the season record shared by Ferrari and McLaren. The 4.3-kilometre counterclockwise (2.6 mile) Interlagos track has new runoff areas and a new pit entrance and pit exit, all added to improve safety.___Follow Tales Azzoni at http://twitter.com/tazzoni Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

MILWAUKEE -- In back-to-back innings, Jimmy Rollins broke up Matt Garzas no-hit bid and a shutout. Black Silver Air Max 90 . Soon enough, a frustrating afternoon at the plate for the Philadelphia Phillies turned into a laugher at Miller Park. Rollins two-out, two-run single in the eighth sparked a seven-run outburst that helped Philadelphia complete a four-game sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers with a 9-1 win Thursday. What a nice way for the last-place Phillies to head home after a 10-game road trip that had started 1-5. "I feel a lot better about the last four games. Thats something we can build on," manager Ryne Sandberg said. "To see the offence come alive for a four-game series against good pitching, I think its a step in the right direction." Rollins greeted reliever Will Smith in the eighth by singling to left to drive home two runs. After throwing 108 pitches, Garza (6-6) had just been pulled from the game to a standing ovation but could only watch helplessly from the dugout as his shutout evaporated. "Baseball is a funny game. (Garza) goes from a no-hitter to getting a loss and we get no-hit and then win it," Rollins said. The Phillies sent 12 batters to the plate in the eighth and got RBI ground-rule doubles from Ryan Howard and Cody Asche. Philadelphia swept a four-game series for the first time since taking four in Cincinnati in 2011. Now if Philadelphia can just carry over their winning streak back to Citizens Bank Park, where they are 18-27, maybe their fans will have something else to talk about this summer other than trade rumours. "This series should help with that with some momentum," Sandberg said about the subpar play at home. Rookie David Buchanan (5-5) struck out five in seven innings for the win, tossing one of his best games of the season in allowing just four hits. Carlos Gomez scored the Brewers only run with a solo shot to left-centre to lead off the sixth for a 1-0 lead with Garza no-hit bid still intact. It ended quickly after Rollins led off the seventh with a hard chopper past diving first baseman Mark Reynolds for a single into right. What followed was a swift and startling change of fortunes for a team clinging to its lead in the NL Central despite having lost five straight and nine of 10. "It happens, man. My job is to not get guys on base. You leave two guys on, especially two guys with speed, and you pay for it," Garza said. "But it is what it is, you turn the page. We cant dwell on it too long." Perhaps more disappointing for the Brewers is that they were swept at home by the last-place team in the NL East that had been swept in its previous series in Pittsburgh. Asche and Dominic Brown each joined Rollins with two RBIs in the eighth. Things were going so well for Philadelphia that pinch-hitter Cesar Hernandez got to come up to the plate twice in the inning. "I look at the final score and thats ridiculous. Were way too good of a team, we have way too good of a bullpen to let a game get away like that," manager Ron Roenicke said. The Phillies eighth finally ended after Hernandezs infield single was overturned to an out following a Brewers replay challenge. Howard added a two-run shot in the ninth for his 15th homer of the year. Gomezs homer was his 14th of the season. Otherwise, Milwaukees lineup continues to struggle. After climbing to a season-high 19 games over .500 on June 28, the Brewers have watched their 6 1/2-game lead whittle away with second-place St. Louis due in town for a weekend series. NOTES: The Phillies swept Milwaukee in four games on the road for the first time. ... OF Ryan Braun returned to the lineup after missing a few games with a sore back. He hit fifth for the first time since 2008. ... The Brewers announced after the game that top pitching prospect Jimmy Nelson would be recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start Saturday against St. Louis, bumping Marco Estrada to the bullpen. Nelson was 10-2 in the minors, while Estrada had allowed a major league-high 27 homers. ...RHP Yovani Gallardo (5-5) opens the St. Louis series on Friday, while Philadelphia returns home to open a weekend series with Washington by sending RHP A.J. RENTON, Wash. Cheap New Balance Singapore . -- Anthony McCoy did not like having to be a spectator while his Seattle Seahawks teammates won their first Super Bowl. So the reserve tight end jumped at the chance to stay with the only organization hes ever played for knowing theres a chance of more titles in the future. "Everyone always has an interest in going into free agency and seeing what theyre worth on the market," McCoy said Tuesday. "Seattle came at me tough. They were the team that drafted me and at the end of the day I felt this was the best place for me to continue my career in the NFL. I feel I made the right choice." McCoy signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks on Tuesday after missing the entire 2013 season with a torn Achilles tendon. The deal was announced prior to the start of free agency, where McCoy would have been an unrestricted free agent. McCoy was expected to be a significant part of the Seahawks offence last season as a reserve tight end before suffering his season-ending injury during off-season workouts in May. He was stuck watching and going through the rehab process as the Seahawks won a title. "At first it was tough. You want to be out there, you see all the plays you can make or all the things you can do to contribute to the teams success," McCoy said. "But not being out there, it weighed a lot on me at first. As time went by you kind of let it pass and focus on the stuff you can control and what I could control at that time was my rehabilitation process and my focus was on that. It was really good to see the team be successful this year. I was happy for them and I was happy to be a part of that, part of the Seahawks organization to watch them go all the way and win the Super Bowl." "It was fun and it was kind of sad for me at the same time." McCoy had 18 receptions and three touchdowns during the 2012 season in a backup role. He said his rehabilitation is far enough along that he should be ready to participate in the Seahawks off-season program that begins in late April. How the tight end position breaks down remains to be seen. Veteran Zach Miller is under contract but has a large salary cap number for 2014. Backup Luke Willson played well in his rookie season with 20 receptions and one touchdown. "I feel I can compete with all of the guys here," McCoy said. "Its going to be a great competition and I think were going to do really well this year with the guys we have coming back." New Balance 530 Singapore . 3. Trevor Ariza left them talkin about 40. It looked like being another miserable day for Moyes when Ashley Westwood put Villa in front from a 13th-minute free kick. Jacobs scored two in the first end, but Jahr briefly took charge with two in the second end and two more in the third. Jacobs, from Sault. Marie, Ont., gave Canada some breathing room, following his big fourth end by adding two more points in the fifth to go up 7-4.MONTECOPIOLO, Italy -- A final push from Diego Ulissi saw the Italian win a tough eighth stage as the Giro dItalia took to the mountains on Saturday, while Cadel Evans ended Michael Matthews grip on the overall lead. Ulissi made his move inside the final 300 metres, bursting out of the peloton to edge Robert Kiserlovski for a second stage win in the race. Wilco Kelderman was third on the 179-kilometre (111-mile) leg from Foligno to Montecopiolo, which had two category one climbs, including the final ascent to the finish. "It was a difficult race today, it was really too hard for my characteristics, but of course I am really happy," Ulissi said. Evans finished fifth to take the lead from fellow Australian Matthews, who had worn the pink jersey for six days. Evans has a 57-second advantage over Rigoberto Uran, with Rafal Majka third. "We had hopes of what we could do," Evans said. "Its been a really difficult Giro for all sorts of reasons. We are in a good position at the moment. It was a hard stage with all the contenders there ... We still have huge mountains to go and the gaps there will be even more than today." This years Giro honours the 10th anniversary of Marco Pantanis death, and the eighth stage was one of three dedicated to him. There were many posters of Pantani along the route and a huge cutout of the Italian cyclist on the Carpegna climb, where he used to train. New Balance 574 Womens Sale. Pantani won the Giro and Tour de France in 1998. He was found dead in a hotel room on Valentines Day in 2004, and a coroner ruled he died from cocaine poisoning. Julian Arredondo led the race for most of the day as part of an early break of 10 riders who managed to build a lead of more than eight minutes. That advantage diminished on the approach to the first climb. With an average gradient of 9.9 per cent, and 14 per cent at its steepest, the Carpegna was the first serious challenge of this years Giro. Arredondo jumped on the ascent with 36.6 kilometres (22.7 miles) remaining and had a 36-second advantage over Stefano Pirazzi at the summit, with a greatly reduced peloton crossing 1 minute, 57 seconds later. Pierre Rolland attacked off the group on the descent but Arredondo still had an advantage of 1:10 over him at the start of the penultimate climb, with the peloton trailing by 2:40. Arredondo faded two kilometres from the finish, and Rolland continued on solo before being swept up by the peloton with 350 metres to go. Daniel Moreno jumped but he was passed by Kiserlovksi, who looked to take victory until Ulissis attack from nowhere. Sundays ninth stage is a 172km leg from Lugo to Sestola, which ends in a category 2 climb to the finish. Memphis, TN (SportsNetwork. Kevin Greene Jersey .com) - Monta Ellis scored 25 points and the Dallas Mavericks pulled away for a 103-95 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday. The Southwest Division-leading Grizzlies missed nine of their last 10 shots and had a four-game winning streak snapped. Dirk Nowitzki got eight of his 21 points in the game-ending run and Chandler Parsons scored 15 for the Mavericks, who pulled within a half-game of Memphis lead atop the division. Conleys straightaway 3 made it 91-89, Memphis first lead since it was 4-2 in the opening minutes of the game. Amsterdam, Netherlands (SportsNetwork. Nike Roshe One Print Black .com) - Ajax and Feyenoord played out a 0-0 draw at the Amsterdam Arena on Sunday in a battle of top-three sides, handing leaders PSV Eindhoven a big boost. PSVs 2-1 win over Cambuur on Saturday stretched the lead to seven points at the top of the league, with Sundays result leaving defending champions Ajax six points adrift. Feyenoord had the better of the chances in the contest, while Ajax struggled to keep possession and generally looked a bit off the pace. The 20th minute saw a great chance presented to Feyenoord as Arkaduisz Milik of Ajax redirected a ball into the path of Feyenoords Colin Kazim Richards, who was left alone in the penalty area with goalkeeper Jesper Cillessen, only to see the netminder parry his shot to safety. Milik came to the rescue for the hosts shortly before halftime when he blocked a shot from Jean Paul Boetius on the goal line, keeping the match level. After the break it was Feyenoord who once again had the better of the play, and Boetius was denied a potential winning goal by teammate Kazim Richards, who inadvertently blocked a goal bound header from Boetius. Utrecht and Groningen battled to a 2-2 draw with Utrecht scoring the equalizer 10 minutes after the break through Yassine Ayoub, while NAC and Willem II finished 0-0. CLEVELAND -- Kyrie Irving and the Cleveland Cavaliers best performance of the season brought an end to the Denver Nuggets seven-game winning streak. New Balance 574 Herre . Irving scored 23 points and the Cavaliers won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a 98-88 victory over Denver Wednesday night. Tristan Thompson had a career-high 21 rebounds and 17 points for Cleveland, which handed Denver its first loss since Nov. 18. The Nuggets played the third game of a six-game road trip, which began with a 14-point win in Toronto on Sunday and a 24-point victory in Brooklyn on Tuesday. "They just whupped us tonight," Denver coach Brian Shaw said. "They looked like the fresher team and they were quicker to the punch." Randy Foye led Denver with 16 points, while J.J. Hickson had 15 points and 11 rebounds, but the Nuggets couldnt contend with Clevelands balanced attack. Anderson Varejao scored a season-high 18 points and had 13 rebounds for the Cavaliers, who recorded their largest margin of victory this season. While the Nuggets have been one the leagues hottest teams, the Cavaliers have struggled to adjust to new coach Mike Browns system. Cleveland already has lost seven games by double figures, but a win over Chicago on Saturday and its latest victory produced some confidence. "Winning is the thing that cures everything," Brown said. "We came out aggressive on both ends of the floor and thats what coach Brown has been preaching," Irving said. "Its paying dividends. It starts with the way we practice and carries over into games." Denver trailed by 12 points in the second quarter, but finished the first half on a 10-2 run and cut the lead to two early in the third period. The Nuggets got no closer, however, as the Cavaliers stretched the lead to double figures. The margin reached 13 early in the fourth. Andrew Bynum, coming off his best game of the season, had 14 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes. The 7-footer had 20 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocked shots Saturday against the Bulls in a 97-93 win. Bynum, Thompson and Varejao combined for 41 of Clevelands 58 rebounds. "They were monsters in the pick-and-roll," Brown said. "They were monsters on the glass. They were monsters around the rim. It was awesome to watch." Thompson had nine rebounds in nine minutes in the first quarter. He had 11 points and 13 rebounds in the first half. "Tristan Thompson had his season averages at halftime," Shaw said. "This was a good lesson for our bigs. When youre playing against bigger guys like him and Bynum, youve got to put a body on them." Despite being 6-12, the Cavaliers havent fallen too far from the pack in the Eastern Conference, where only Indiana and Miami are over .500. "Thats the good thing about being in the East right now and Im sure every other team feels the same, but we truly believe we havent played our best basketball," Brown said. "Contrary to what anybody believes I do feel like were getting better." Nate Robinson scored 14 points and Wilson Chandler added 13 for the Nuggets. Denver got off to a slow start playing its third game in four nights. The Cavaliers led by seven points on several occasions in the first quarter and stretched the lead to 12 in the second. Cleveland led 54-42 with 1:51 remaining in the second, but Denver scored 10 of the halfs final 12 points, highlighted by Lawsons three-point play, a 3-pointer by Foye and four points by Darrell Arthur. Lawsons basket accounted for his first points of the game. He came into Wednesday averaging a team-high 20.2 points, but finished with four points on 1-of-13 shooting. "I feel like I missed all easy shots," said Lawson, who had 11 assists. "I aint never shot 1 for 13 before in my life." Bynum was given a flagrant foul for hitting Hickson in the shoulder in the third quarter while the Denver forward was driving to the basket. The Nuggets had won six of the previous seven meetings with the Cavaliers and three straight on the road. Denver reserve centre Timofey Mozgov had eight points and three rebounds in 17 minutes one night after grabbing a career-high 20 rebounds to go with 17 points against the Nets. That changed after talking to his 25-year-old son that night. "He is always very honest," Olaf Eller said Thursday at the world hockey championship. "So I was a little bit surprised when I got the strong feeling from him that they would win that series. After Game 5, he was very clear and very sharp: Were gonna win that thing. That was not the opinion I had after Game 5. "After Game 5, I didnt think they would win. But he said, We are all very sure that were gonna run them out." Run them out, the Habs did 4-0 in Game 6 before finishing off the Bruins with a 3-1 victory in Game 7 on Wednesday night. That was not a result Eller, coach of Denmarks junior team, could have predicted earlier this week. But he felt OK going into the series, based on this past regular season. "You could see during the season that they had the assets, the tools," said Eller, who is in Minsk as a member of the Danish teams support staff. "You could see that in the games against Boston during the season, they were able to play a good game against Boston. ... I had a feeling that if they could come around Tampa, I had the feeling they could beat Boston." Its not easy for Eller and his wife to be in Minsk right now. In addition to Lars being in the East final that begins Saturday against the New York Rangers, 18-year-old son Mads is in the Memorial Cup with the Edmonnton Oil Kings. New Balance 990 DK. Olaf Eller finds a way to watch all the games on his computer from in Europe — he only missed one game of the Habs-Bruins series — and talks to Lars after each one. The post-Game 7 conversation was a particularly enjoyable one. "He was very, very happy," Eller said of his son. "They were in the bus on their way to the airport, so everybody was very happy." Lars Eller has nine points through 11 games, leading Montreal forwards in scoring and trailing just star defenceman P.K. Subban. His father is proud of how his son rebounded from a rough regular season. "He managed to start another season, show that the post-season is another season and he has been good in the playoffs," said Olaf Eller, who plans to go to Montreal if the Habs reach the Stanley Cup final. Beyond just being a hockey dad, Eller is the coach of Esbjerg IK in Denmarks top hockey league. Because of that, he has an appreciation for the adjustments Montreal coach Michel Therrien and his staff made in these playoffs to get to this point. Eller praised Therrien for shuffling Daniel Briere, Brandon Prust, Travis Moen, Francis Bouillon, Douglas Murray and Nathan Beaulieu in and out of the lineup at the right times. "I think the coaching staff, by their analyzing of their opponents, by their ability to adjust the team in the lineup from game-to-game ... made a huge success there," he said. The recent years of impressive progress at the Liberty Stadium looked as if they might come to a juddering halt when an autumnal run of one win in 13 league games sent them into relegation danger.I dont think anyone saw that coming but it happens in football and its down to the players to get us out of the position were in now because, at the end of the day, we cant get relegated, says Sigurdsson. We want to stay in the Premier League and its a massive thing for the club to stay up next year with the television money coming in. And for us as players, we dont want to have a relegation on our CV. Sigurdsson believes Swansea have more than enough to retain their Premier League status The 26-year-old has been a key performer since the turn of the year, his seven goals in the last 11 matches going a long way to alleviating relegation fears. So, has Sigurdssons form turned things around for Swansea? Or has the teams improved performances brought the best out of the player?I think its both, he says. Personally 2016 has been a very good year. Ive been scoring a lot of goals but I think it comes down to the team playing better football as well. Were picking up more points. Were playing a little bit better than we were. In October and November we were playing really badly but now were doing better and creating a lot of chances. Its just down to the players up front to put them away now. We hear it said in the modern game that certain teams have an identity. It was used as a stick to beat Sam Allardyce during his time at West Ham, when supporters were less than happy with performances; that wasnt the West Ham way, they said. Former Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers often used phrases like Our DNA during his time at Liverpool, as if to claim some unique characteristic that set his club apart. These are blurred areas, often mistaken for simpler distinctions between winning and losing. Gylfi Sigurdsson has been in good goalscoring form for Swansea since the turn of the year But there is no doubt Swansea gained a reputation for a particular style of football since Roberto Martinezs arrival in 2007, which saw them through to the Premier League under Rodgers. The side has continued to evolve, but Sigurdsson believes that was part of the problem earlier this season.I think somewhere along the line we went away froom what were all about. http://www.englandfootballshopuk.com/women-s-nike-england-jersey-euro-2016-john-stones-6-away-authentic-red-uefa-football-championship-soccer-short-shirt.html. Because if you look at the last six or seven years and what Swansea are known for, I think we didnt perform like we used to. We didnt pass the ball like we used to and defend like we once did. We used to win the ball high up the pitch then keep the ball. Sigurdsson found the net from the penalty spot against fellow relegation rivals Sunderland When Garry Monk departed in December, it was club hero and long-serving coach Alan Curtis who took temporary charge. His first match brought an unlucky defeat away to Manchester City, but from that game on the team started to return to the style Sigurdsson talks about. After a long spell on the sidelines, Leon Britton had been restored to the starting XI in the final games of Monks reign, and his tenacity and passing in the midfield holding role helped the team build from a solid base once more.Curtis was ready to take a backseat again when Francesco Guidolin arrived from Italy to take charge of the team in January. But an illness to the 60-year-old Italian thrust Curtis into the limelight once more. Alan Curtis has been in the dugout in the absence of Francesco Guidolin Hes been fantastic, really good, Sigurdsson says of Curtis. All of the boys look up to him and he knows the club inside out. He knows what it means to the club and the city to stay in the Premier League. But of course hes also very experienced and very calm and hes done very well in the absence of the manager and the time before that when he and Dave Adams were taking charge of the team. When Garry left, Curt stepped in and steadied the ship. He took charge for a few games and our performances improved. I think hes very important for us.So what do Swansea need to do between now and the end of the season to ensure their survival for another season? Its a case of just going back to what were good at and playing the football that we used to play; exciting attacking football and keeping the ball with a lot of pressure in the team. If we can do that well be more than fine.Watch the full interview with Johnny Phillips and Gylfi Sigurdsson on Soccer Saturday from 12noon on Sky Sports News HQ, and watch Swansea v Aston Villa on Saturday Night Football from 5pm on Sky Sports 1 HD Also See: Guidolin back for Villa visit Mersons predictions Premier League questions Live on Sky Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '

And just days away from his 25th birthday, Kitchener, Ontarios Mike Hoffman is living that dream. And in Game 42 of his NHL career on Thursday night, Hoffman delivered the decisive blow 2:39 into OT in a 4-3 Ottawa Senators win over the Edmonton Oilers, ending the night in chilly Edmonton the way it started - with Hoffmans first of two in the game to spark the Sens to a much-needed victory. It was the second two-goal game of the year for Hoffman, who according to Elias, is just one of two rookies in the NHL with a pair of multi-goal games (LAs Tanner Pearson - another Kitchener native - being the other). Pearson and Hoffman share another piece of history - one that isnt that kind to their hometown OHL team the Kitchener Rangers. Their crystal ball must have been cloudy when deciding that neither Pearson, Hoffman, nor Winnipegs Mark Scheifele (another Kitchener kid who slipped past many in the 2009 OHL Draft before being claimed by Saginaw in the seventh round, 134th overall) had good OHL upside. Just a year earlier, the Barrie Colts took a chance on Pearson - a former Rangers stick boy - and selected him in the 14th round. Hoffman wasnt drafted by an OHL team and was considered a Kitchener call-up during the 2006-2007 season before finally getting waived by the league. That freed him to jump to the QMJHL, where his game started to take shape. He was guided with quality coaching from Gatineaus Benoit Groulx, Drummondvilles Guy Boucher and Saint Johns Gerard Gallant during his time in the Q, which included being named the leagues most valuable player as a 20- year-old and finished his junior career as the Sea Dogs top scorer in 2009-2010. Gallant, now head coach of the Florida Panthers, tells The Dreger Report he isnt surprised by Hoffmans NHL success. He could always shoot and score, he explained. He just had to feel comfortable in the league and like most players, playing in the minors never hurts. As they say, stuff happens and the OHLs Rangers - like so many other major junior teams - are careful with local kids, recognizing sometimes its best to pass them over rather than potentially burn relationships if things dont work out. But it appears to be working out for all three players. With six goals in his last five NHL games, Hoffman is making the most of an opportunity and isnt worrying about days gone by. Hes described as strong and wiry with explosive speed, a high level of skill and a dangerous one-timeer. Adidas Stan Smith Black. And thats part of the reason hes getting a role on Ottawas second power play unit. Like all inexperienced players, Hoffman has flaws. The scouting report says he can get too cute at times, trying to make plays with his hands rather than his speed and there was a point not long ago when Sens brass had serious conversations over whether or not he had a long-term place in the organization. The one question that was repeatedly asked: Can he do it at the NHL level? And 13 games into the season, Hoffmans seven goals, eight points and undeniable chemistry with Mark Stone and Curtis Lazar on Ottawas Kid Line may make it time to stop asking that question. Methot On The Mend Staying on the topic of the Senators, Ottawa defenceman Marc Methot appears to be getting closer to returning to play. Methot, who has been plagued by back and hip problems, saw a specialist last week who confirmed his injury is soft-tissue based. Thats Good news. Early next week, the Senators are hoping to have a better sense as to when the veteran blueliner will be healthy enough to return. Meanwhile, theres been no progress made on his contract negotiations with the Senators - and virtually no discussions over the past three weeks - which continues to fuel trade speculation. The Anaheim Ducks, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers are believed to be among the teams interested. GM Meeting Next Week NHL general managers will meet on Tuesday in Toronto, traditionally setting up the March meetings where the executives decide on rule changes or amendments. While NHL executive vice-president and director of hockey operations Colin Campbell is closely guarding the meetings agenda, the laundry list of items - and early season observations - will most certainly include a lengthy debate on overtime. Based on the success of 3-on-3 in the American Hockey League and the growing number of believers outside of the NHL Commissioners office, GMs are confident the leagues current overtime format - as compared to the AHL experiment - will be a primary focus next week. While the shootout is still considered a valued piece of entertainment, some of the leagues decision makers say its lost its novelty and think its unfair to dismiss 3-on-3 until its been tested at the NHL level. While no decisions are expected to emerge from Tuesdays meeting, it will be interesting to get a read on how views have changed on 3-on-3 given the evidence supplied by the AHL.
