REGINA -- By his own admission, Jason Clermont is having a very difficult time accepting the fact that the Saskatchewan Roughriders will not be in the playoffs this season. nike free preço . The sure-handed Canadian receiver and dedicated special-teams player is a veteran of 10 CFL seasons, seven with the B.C. Lions and three with the Roughriders, and has never missed the playoffs before. "Im not used to this. It feels weird, to be honest with you," Clermont said Tuesday as the Riders (4-11) stepped up preparations for Friday nights game in Calgary against the Stampeders. "This is like being in the kitchen peeling potatoes and getting the vegetables ready when you know the meal is going to burn anyway," he said. For the time being, with three games remaining in the season, Canadian offensive lineman Gene Makowsky is determined to play the best football he possibly can. "Every time you step on the field, youre putting your resume on film," he said. "You want to show people that youre still a competitive person regardless of the circumstances. "I dont want to let my teammates down, and I dont want to let the fans down. Im going to give it everything Ive got every single week. We get paid to play, and playing hard is not conditional." Clermont seems as perplexed as any of his teammates and coaches when it comes to explaining what went wrong this season for a team that made it to the Grey Cup game the previous two years and was expected to be a contender once again in 2011. "I dont know. I really dont," Clermont said. "Too many losses. Not enough touchdowns." Clermont refused to put the blame on injuries to key players or the fact that the Riders, for whatever reason, have just not been in sync this year. "Being in sync is a product of winning," he said, "and winning is a product of being in sync. I just dont have any answers." Clermont returned to his hometown as a free-agent signing three years ago with high hopes of not only finishing his career in Saskatchewan but also going out as a winner. "I wanted to come back to win a Grey Cup," said the former star with the University of Regina Rams. "We were so close the last two years." Clermonts future with the Riders beyond this season is uncertain. He does not have a contract for 2012. "I dont know how many days or weeks I have left," he said. "Im trying my best to get as much as I can out of every game, but its tough." Like Clermont, Makowsky cannot say with any certainty what 2012 will bring. The University of Saskatchewan product has played 17 seasons with the Roughriders and is currently running as a candidate for the Saskatchewan Party in one of the Regina ridings. The results of the provincial election next month will be a significant factor in determining his football future. "Its going pretty well. Its a lot of hard work, but its also a lot of fun," Makowsky said when asked about the election campaign. "Its certainly been different than anything Ive ever done before." On the campaign trail, Makowsky is getting as many questions about the Roughriders disappointing season as he is about the Saskatchewan Party platform. "Im disappointed for the players and Im disappointed for the fans as well," he said. "But I enjoy talking football with anybody anytime. Any kind of football, not just the Roughriders and the CFL" Makowsky is keeping his options open, at least to the extent that he can control his own destiny. If he wins a seat in the legislature, he might retire from football, or he might try to combine football and a career as a member of the legislative assembly. "All of that is down the road. I havent really thought about it much," he said. "The decision on whether or not to retire is going to depend on a lot of different things. Its complicated." nike free 5.0 preço .Benfica leads Porto by six points before it visits Pacos Ferreira on Monday.Bruno Gallo scored what proved to be Maritimos winner with a left-footed volley in the 32nd minute. adidas zx flux baratas . -- Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander Jeff Karstens says that this spring hes got the mindset of a starting pitcher. http://www.baratasportugal.com/nike-free-run/nike-free-run-2.html . "I dont want to start going through this whole thing again," said Luongo, who has yet to start for the Canucks since returning from the Olympics.ATHENS, Ga. -- Aaron Murray threw for 408 yards and three touchdowns, ran for another score, and led No. 9 Georgia to a 45-21 victory over pesky North Texas on Saturday. Murray overcame an early interception in the end zone, hooking up with freshman Reggie Davis on a 98-yard TD -- the longest pass play in school history. Arthur Lynch and Chris Conley also had touchdown catches for the Bulldogs (2-1). The Mean Green (2-2) came in as a 33-point underdog, but big plays on special teams helped make a game of it. Brelan Chancellor returned a kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, and Zac Whitfield fell on a blocked punt in the end zone early in the second half to stunningly tie the game at 21. Murray made sure the Bulldogs avoided the upset. He scored on a 1-yard sneak and went to Conley on a 4-yard TD. Georgia outgained North Texas by a staggering margin in total yards, 641-245, the fourth-most in school history. But the Bulldogs didnt put it away until the fourth quarter. Murray became only the second Southeastern Conference quarterback with 100 career scoring passes. The three TDs pushed his total to 102, trailing only 1996 Heisman Trophy winner Danny Wuerffel of Florida (114). Darnell Smith had North Texas only non-special teams score, hauling in a 20-yard pass from Derek Thompson. But the Mean Green certainly didnt embarrass themselves on a rainy day between the hedges, collecting a hefty payout ($975,000) and ruining any hopes Georgia had to limit the pllaying time of its starters before an SEC showdown with No. nike air max thea baratas. 6 LSU next weekend. Murray got off to a rough start, trying to force a pass into heavy coverage on second-and-goal from the North Texas 3. It was picked off by linebacker Will Wright. Murray bounced back on the next possession. He hooked up with Jay Rome on a 27-yard pass, North Texas cornerback James Jones was called for interference, and Todd Gurley powered over from the 12 yards out to give Georgia a 7-0 lead. The Bulldogs made it 14-0 on the first play of the second quarter from their own 2-yard line. Davis beat his man, hauled in the pass, and pulled away from the defence to beat the previous school record of 93 yards, which had been done three times -- including the famous touchdown pass from Buck Belue to Lindsay Scott against Florida during the 1980 national championship season. The teams traded quick scores -- Smiths TD was matched by Murrays 16-yarder to Lynch -- before Chancellor stunned the crowd on the ensuing kickoff. One of the nations top returners, Chancellor found a hole through a wall of blockers, easily slipped past kicker Marshall Morgan, and took off right down the middle of the field for a touchdown that cut Georgias lead to 21-14. The Mean Green tied it less than a minute into the second half as the rain began falling heavily at Sanford Stadium. Marcus Trice broke through to block Collin Barbers punt, and Whitfield recovered for a tying TD.
