The Winnipeg Jets finished the four game Central Division trip at 1-2-1, and are now 2-3-1 on the road this season, with each game being decided by one goal. In Edmonton, a 5-4 win, Minnesota a 2-1 loss, Nashville a 3-2 loss in overtime, Dallas a 2-1 shoot-out win, Colorado a 3-2 loss and St. Louis a 3-2 loss. Add up the goals for in the last five road games and the total is eight. (Shootout winner in Dallas not in the total). The inability to get that third goal has been costly. On this four-game trip, Blake Wheeler (3), Bryan Little (2), Anthony Peluso (1), Evander Kane (1) were the only Jets to score. Andrew Ladd had the winner in the shootout win in Dallas. In St. Louis, the Jets again surrendered the first goal as Brenden Morrow scored his second of the year. The Jets (5-7-2) have only scored the first goal of the game three times. They tied it on a 5-on-3 power play with Wheeler scoring his fourth goal in the last five games, and snapping an eight-game team power play drought. The Jets did not score a 5-on-3 goal in 10 opportunities last year. The physical first period ended tied at 1-1. There was no scoring in the second period with special teams the key in the third. Alex Pietrangelo regained the lead for St. Louis as the Blues forced a turnover in the Jets zone. The Jets penalty kill was excellent in this game against the leagues number one power play. While killing their fifth penalty, Andrew Ladd and Bryan Little broke into the Blues zone with Little finishing the play off with his second short-handed goal of the season. It was Littles seventh goal of the year, tying his output from last year. "Im shooting more and not squeezing the stick as much," Little would say on the TSN Jets post-game interview. It appeared as though the Jets would go to overtime for the fifth time in seven games until Toby Enstrom was called for interference at 17:47, giving St. Louis one last power play chance, and Alexander Steen would put a back hand shot off the post, off Ondrej Pavelecs pad and in for the game winner. It was his league-leading 11th goal of the year and came with one minute left in the third. The Jets again had quality chances with no results. Wheeler hit the inside of the post late in the second, while Jaroslav Halak made a number of key saves in the third, including one off Michael Frolik at the side of the net that would have given the Jets the lead. There was plenty of frustration in the Jets room after this one. Finding ways to lose was a common quote. It was a heart-breaking loss in a game the Jets deserved at least a point. But shorthanded six times is too many as the Jets now lead the NHL in short-handed situations. Little took 27 face-offs, Mark Stuart blocked six shots, Dustin Byfuglien played 26:35, all team highs. Head coach Claude Noel, like his players, was frustrated with another one goal defeat. "We gave ourselves a chance, but we found a way to lose," said Noel. "We gave their power play a lot of opportunities. This could have been a decent trip." The Jets return to action at MTS Centre Saturday afternoon against Chicago (TSN 1290) and Monday against Detroit (TSN Jets, TSN 1290.) They will play 14 games in 28 days in November. Defenceman Ben Chiarot was recalled from St. Johns but did not play. The Jets have defenceman Jacob Trouba and Paul Postma on IR, as well as forward Jim Slater. A number of others are also battling bumps and bruises. Womens Odell Beckham Jr Jersey . Tournament officials said the sisters pulled out because of an injury to Venus lower left leg. The announcement came shortly after Serena Williams, a five-time singles champion in Australia, won her third-round singles match against Daniela Hantuchova in temperatures of almost 40C (104F). Algeria enters the match riding a wave of unexpected confidence after pummeling South Korea, 4-2, in Porto Alegre on Sunday. The Desert Foxes opened the scoring after 26 minutes as Carl Medjani sent a long ball over the top to the feet of striker Islam Slimani, who did well to split two South Korean defenders and touch it past goalkeeper Jung Sung-Ryong.CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Reds lost a game to the weather -- a recurring problem this season -- and took a couple more steps toward getting some injured players back on the roster. The opening game of a series with the Chicago Cubs was postponed on Monday following a 57-minute delay to the first pitch. It was the eighth postponement in 12 years at Great American Ball Park. The game wasnt immediately rescheduled. Manager Bryan Price said the game wont be made up during this series. The Cubs visit for a four-game series from July 7-10. "Theres no way well make it up in this series," Price said. "The way it works out, well probably be able to make it up during that series in July before the All-Star break." Rain has been a problem in Cincinnati this season. The Reds have had one game postponed and another suspended overnight because of rain. Theyve had rain delays for four of the 10 games totalling 8 hours, 57 minutes. The teams will stay on schedule with their starters. Chicagos Jeff Samardzija will face the Reds Alfredo Simon on Tuesday night. It will be Simons first scheduled start since an unidentified woman filed a civil lawsuit against him in a Washington, D.C. court last Thursday, claiming he sexually assaulted her in a hotel one year ago. "I take him at his word that nothing happened and hes assured me that hes ready to pitch and his focus is on pitching," Price said. Simon has been one of Cincinnatis best starters while filling in for the injured Mat Latos, who had surgery to repair torn cartilage in his right knee on Feb. 14. Simon is 3-1 with a 1.30 earned run average in four starts. Latos had a setback in his recovery from the knee problem when he developed soreness in his pitching forearm near the elbow. He has resumed playing catch and could get back to throwing off the bullpen mound later this week. "Once we get him on the mound a couple of times, then we go out there and do a simulated game and then get him into rehab games," Price said.dddddddddddd "Hes not like starting from square one, even though hes just playing catch now. "If we dont have any setbacks, we should be able to progress pretty quickly through this rehab." Closer Aroldis Chapman is scheduled to throw to Reds batters again on Tuesday before the game. If that goes well, he could start a rehab stint in the minors. Chapman was hit on the forehead by a line drive on March 19 and had a metal plate inserted in his forehead to help fractures heal. "If everything goes well with that (on Tuesday), then we anticipate getting him out on a short rehab and then having him back with us pretty quickly," Price said. Samardzija is trying to break a streak of 11 straight starts without a win since last Aug. 30. Samardzija has pitched well -- quality starts his last eight games -- but the Cubs have scored only 21 runs while he was on the mound in the last 10 games. Last Wednesday, Samardzija left with a 5-2 lead before Arizona rallied for a 7-5 win. The Cubs havent fared well against the Reds overall. They dropped two of three at Wrigley Field this month and havent won the season series against Cincinnati since 2009. Theyre 6-16 against Cincinnati over the last two seasons and 10-28 over the last three. NOTES: Cubs RH Jake Arrieta will be activated off the DL and could start later this week. Hes been sidelined since March 21 with tightness in his pitching shoulder. RH Carlos Villanueva will move into the bullpen. ... RF Nate Schierholtz was going to get a day off. ... The Reds Skip Schumaker started a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville on Monday. Hes recovering from a separated left shoulder sustained during spring training. cheap jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys Danny Rose Jersey ' ' '
