For those six Canadian franchises- or the 43%- this season was marked by disappointment, collapses and rebuilds. Mark Fields Jersey .Here quick season recaps of the teams that are entering golf season early, even if there still is snow on the ground. The Ottawa Senators entered last season with a label of being a rebuilding team that wouldnt reach the playoffs. To the surprise of many, the Senators entered the playoffs as a seventh seed and upset the Canadiens in the first round 4-1.This season, the expectations for the Senators were lofty, they lost captain Daniel Alfredsson but acquired Bobby Ryan and star defenceman Erik Karlsson was given a clean bill of health. Yet, the Senators failed live up the level of performance theyd produced the previous season and were removed from the playoff race shortly after the trade deadline. Some would say the Sens just werent ready to fight for it.GIF credit: TumblrThe Toronto Maple Leafs 2013 playoff run gave hope to fans that the future was bright for the team. Add a new starting goaltender in Jonathan Bernier and two veteran grinders, David Clarkson and Dave Bolland, and it seemed the Leafs were ready to surge beyond the first round of the playoffs. Yet, the Leafs game 7 collapse against the Bruins in 2013 turned out be a microcosm of the 2013-2014 campaign.Sitting a safely in a playoff spot late in the season, the Leafs travelled to California for a road trip; the team defeated the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings to put themselves at a 90% chance of making the playoffs. To the amazement of many, the Leafs then dropped eight straight games –and 12 of their final 14- before falling well out of the playoffs. The Leafs pretty well took themselves out this season.GIF credit: The Leafs NationThe Winnipeg Jets had come close to a playoff spot in each of their first two years in the city. Many fans wondered; could this be the year the team finally entered the post-season? The answer to that question would be no. Early failures led to the team firing head coach Claude Noel in January, and though Paul Maurice put the Jets in the playoff race after he arrived, but once again the team missed their mark.GIF credit: TumblrThe Vancouver Canucks went from having the leagues top goaltending duo last season, to now having Eddie Lack and Jacob Markstrom as options in their crease. After trading Corey Schneider in the offseason, the Canucks traded Roberto Luongo prior to the trade deadline, a move that stunned the hockey world. The team went from a contender to a rebuilding team almost overnight. The disaster of the previous 10 months led to president and general manager Mike Gillis being fired and coach John Tortorella being on the hottest of seats entering the offseason. In the end, this GIF perfectly summed up the Canucks season.GIF credit: Vancouver Sports BlogThe Calgary Flames ended this season with the ability to move forward with a lot of positives. This season was a write-off for team, they traded franchise hero Jarome Iginla and defenceman Jay Bouwmeester on deadline day last season and watched goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff retire. The Flames were simply using this season to allow their young players to gain experience and finish with a high draft pick. Yet, the success of young players such as Sean Monahan and a breakout campaign from Mikael Backlund have given Flames fans hope for the future, something many fans in Canada dont seem to have right now.In the end, the Flames line brawl against the Canucks will likely live as the most memorable moment in a forgettable 2013-2014.GIF credit: TumblrGIF credit: TumblrFinally, we have the Edmonton Oilers, who have once again taken their place in the leagues basement despite being overloaded with young talent. The Oilers seemed to have more promise than ever entering this season after signing the hottest coaching name, Dallas Eakins, and adding Andrew Ference to lead the teams young core from the blue line. Yet, despite a new coach and new captain, the Oilers once again struggled to compete and were forced to make moves for their future rather than moves to help a playoff push. The Oilers additions of goaltenders Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth seemed to be a step in the right direction, however another season of "maybe next year" angered even the most patient of Edmonton fans. Multiple jerseys were thrown on the ice this season and despite Scrivens sending one back, the fans may be on the verge of no longer taking them back. GIF credit: Twitter.com/myregularfaceThe failures of the above six franchises have led Canadians to being forced to either cheer for the Canadiens, a polarizing franchise at best, or cheer for a team south of the border.Of course, theres always the option throw in the towel on watching playoff at all, just like Dallas Eakins did. Is this the worst season ever of Canadian NHL teams? The evidence above suggests it might be… Ben Niemann Jersey . - A retired Indiana school principal who was NASCAR star Jeff Gordons drivers education teacher was killed with his wife in a Tennessee crash while returning from watching Gordon race. Justin Hamilton Jersey . This is not some token job for a prominent, popular former player. All of those areas need a lot of work, so Molitor is going to be busy. "Hes certainly got a history and knowledge and a high baseball IQ," general manager Terry Ryan said. http://www.cheapchiefsjerseysauthentic.com/?tag=authentic-charvarius-ward-jersey . Calgary finished atop the CFL standings with a 14-4 record and earned the right to host the West Division final at McMahon Stadium on Nov.ST. LOUIS -- For six innings, Matt Garza was in top form. Then he tweaked a left oblique and it all fell apart for the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers bullpen quickly surrendered a two-run lead that had once seemed so secure in a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday. "It was bad enough where I had to take myself out of the game and I dont do that," Garza said. "Theres too much left in the season and I thought Id make the smart play." Manager Ron Roenicke said Garza will be examined on Monday after feeling his side grab on one of his final pitches. "He couldnt keep going," Roenicke said. "Great game, great fastball. He had a lot working." Garza said he had a similar injury last spring. "I hadnt even thought of it and it just happened, and you try and think of what you did," Garza said. "It felt like a muscle grab, and it was one of those, and son of a gun." John Lackey won his St. Louis debut when the Cardinals rallied for three runs in the seventh inning, capped by a go-ahead from rookie Oscar Taveras. The Cardinals took two of three from NL Central-leading Milwaukee and pulled within one game of the division lead. "We played a good ballgame," Roenicke said. "Got a couple of runs of Lackey and put up some zeroes and you feel pretty good about the game. "It didnt work out." Lackey (1-0) was the Cardinals big catch at the trade deadline that capitalized on Bostons sell-off. The right-hander won the clinching Game 6 of the World Series against St. Louis last fall allowed two runs and seven hits in seven innings and is 12-7 overall. Trevor Rosenthal struck out Carlos Gomez with two on for his major league-leading 34th save in 38 chances. Matt Holliday homered off Zach Duke with one out in the seventh. Recently acquired A.J. Pierzynski hit a tying single off Jeremy Jeffress (0-1) and Taveras sinngled up the middle. Armani Watts Jersey. Aramis Ramirez had an RBI single in the first for Milwaukee, his seventh hit of the series, and Mark Reynolds hit his 19th homer in the second. Lyle Overbay pinch-hit for Garza in the seventh with two outs, a runner on first and the Brewers up 2-0. Garza had been coming up the dugout steps, but Roenicke said the pitcher hadnt heard him say he was coming out. "When youre talking about obliques, you cant go out there," Roenicke said. Overbay singled, raising his career average to .364 against Lackey, but Gomez popped up. Garza was out after just 71 pitches, and the Brewers bullpen quickly surrendered the lead. Garza needed just 38 pitches and faced the minimum the first four innings. He went to a full count for the first time against Matt Adams, who doubled leading off the fifth. TRAINERS ROOM Brewers: Second baseman Scooter Gennett and shortstop Jean Segura did not start, both nursing sore quads. Gennett struck out pinch-hitting in the ninth. Cardinals: Outfielder Jon Jay missed his fifth straight start with a sore wrist from a checked swing in San Diego. He had to be extra disappointed, given hes 8 for 13 with a homer against Garza. UP NEXT Brewers: Milwaukee awaits the Giants, with Jimmy Nelson (1-2, 4.30) facing Tim Lincecum (9-7, 4.21) on Tuesday at Miller Park. Cardinals: After an off-day, the Cardinals host Boston for a three-game series beginning Tuesday night. On Wednesday, Shelby Miller (8-8, 4.14) faces ex-teammate and close friend Joe Kelly (2-2, 4.37), who was traded to Boston in the Lackey trade. Miller and Kelly were the best man in each others wedding. NUMBERS GAME Ramirez is batting .522 (12 for 23) during a six-game hitting streak. Hes batting .459 (17 for 37) against the Cardinals this year with two homers and nine RBIs. He has 37 homers and 139 RBIs against St. Louis, most among active players.
