Martin St. Sean Kilpatrick Jersey . Louis scored in overtime to give the New York Rangers a 3-2 win over the Montreal Canadiens in Game Four of the Eastern Conference Final. The Rangers are now one win away from their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final since winning in 1994. St. Louis, who has 13 points in 18 postseason games this year, has 81 points in 81 career playoff games, his 1.00 points per game in the playoffs ranks fifth among active skaters. He currently has seven points during a six-game point streak and had a game-high nine shot attempts. On the winning goal, the Canadiens failed to clear the zone several times and Rangers LW Carl Hagelin found St. Louis wide open on the right wing. St. Louis took his time and picked the top corner on the short side. Hagelin, who scored a shorthanded goal earlier in the game, has tied St. Louis for the team lead with six goals in the playoffs. Rangers C Derick Brassard returned to the lineup, after missing a couple of games due to injury, scored a goal and was dominant in the faceoff circle, winning 18 of 24 draws (75.0%). He was also one of three Rangers (Derek Dorsett, Benoit Pouliot) on the ice for more than 70% of 5-on-5 shot attempts. Both teams had 29 shots on goal (and 56 shot attempts overall), but the Rangers had better possession numbers at even-strength. They had to because the Canadiens had eight power plays to the Rangers three. The Canadiens did manage to get their first power play goal of the series -- initially credited to P.K. Subban, but sure appeared to be deflected by RW Brendan Gallagher -- but the Habs are 1-for-17 (5.9%) in the series and they are going to be hard-pressed to beat the Rangers without an effective power play. Subban played a game-high 33:16, with 12:51 coming on the power play. Game One against Boston, a Double-OT win when he played 33:49, is the only game this season in which Subban played more than he did in Game Four against the Rangers. Canadiens C David Desharnais, who had three assists in the previous 12 games, did record assists on both of Montreals goals, though Desharnais, along with linemates Max Pacioretty and Brendan Gallagher, were all on for one-third or less of the 5-on-5 shot attempts. Pacioretty didnt register a shot on goal, with one shot blocked counting as his only attempt in 21:47 of ice time. G Dustin Tokarski stopped 26 of 29 Rangers shots. While he went down too early on the winning goal, Tokarski made a number of quality stops and gave the Canadiens a chance to win. He has a .917 save percentage in three games, which is good, but not good enough to overtake the Rangers when Henrik Lundqvist is on top of his game. Lundqvist has a playoff-leading .931 save percentage in 18 playoff games. With C Derek Stepan out due to a broken jaw and LW Dan Carcillo suspended, the Rangers turned to rookie LW J.T. Miller, but Miller ended up playing only 3:09, knocked out of the game for some time by an Andrei Markov hit that drove him into the Canadiens net. Miller didnt play from the midpoint of the second period until taking a shift in overtime. Inserted into the Montreal lineup for a suspended Brandon Prust, LW Michael Bournival played 8:42, lowest on the team, but had respectable possession numbers in that time. Its not as if the Canadiens havent had opportunities in this series. The possession numbers favour the Rangers, but only slightly, and if the Canadiens power play starts clicking, then maybe they could turn the tide. It will have to start with Game Five, in Montreal, but to do it three times in a row is a tall order, indeed. Off-Season Game Plan looks at a Wild team that has a nice mix of proven veterans along with young, inexpensive talent on the rise. When the Wild signed Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, making a big splash in the summer of 2012, it set the franchise on a path to being more competitive, but a big reason that they have been so competitive is the contributions of young players who still have more to give. Jeremy Lin Jersey . The start of the seasons fifth and final major was delayed two hours due to heavy rain in the area. The tournament eventually began, but with water on the greens and the rain persisting, players were called back to the clubhouse less than an hour after the first group teed off. http://www.nbanetsauthority.com/ . While hell be dialed in to that tournament on a course he loves, you can forgive him if his eyes glance down the calendar just a bit, towards April.TORONTO - Emilio Bonifacio is a Kansas City Royal, Colby Rasmus is on the disabled list and Kevin Pillar and Munenori Kawasaki are up from Triple-A, the first in what could be a series of moves which reflect the harsh truths the Blue Jays face: the season is over and the future is now. "Boni wasnt getting a lot of playing time here and obviously scuffled with the bat," said general manager Alex Anthopoulos. "It was also a chance to get Pillar up here as well. I think in the next few days well probably have to make another move with an outfielder; were playing with three right now." Expect Anthony Gose to be recalled next, perhaps as early as Thursday. Colby Rasmus has a strained left oblique, suffered on a check swing during an at-bat on Sunday against Oakland. With Melky Cabrera down thanks to lingering knee trouble the Jays need both Pillar and Gose to maintain a complement of four outfielders. Jose Bautista is the mainstay in right field. Two of Pillar, Gose and Rajai Davis would man the other spots on a given night. Pillar arrives on merit. A 32nd round pick two years ago out of California State University Dominguez Hills, hes hit .299 or better at five minor league stops, rocketing through the system. Hes earned respect for "playing the game the right way" and is described by observers close to the Blue Jays as being "fundamentally sound." The latter should be music to a fans ears. "Clearly I could say, and I say that respectfully, we got him wrong," said Anthopoulos. "Just because if he has a chance to get to the big leagues you dont wait for the 30th round to select him. You could say that about Mike Piazza and Albert Pujols and Ian Kinsler and all these guys who were late picks.I think its a credit to the player and a credit to player development, both of them, really." The math says Pillar was passed over in the 2011 draft almost 1,000 times. Its a staggering number. Dont doubt Pillar remembers. Scouts say none of his tools stand out but emulating the work ethic of his baseball hero, Cal Ripken Jr., Pillar has met each challenge with success. "Being drafted in the 32nd round after wwhat I at least thought was a successful college career even though it was the Division II level, theres definitely a chip on my shoulder to prove that they may have got it wrong in the draft, that the system may not be perfect," said Pillar. Jarrett Allen Jersey. "Going in, naturally, I was already a little upset. I carried that chip on my shoulder." The Bonifacio trade came together after he was placed on waivers and claimed by Kansas City. The Jays will receive a cash consideration or a player in return and the two sides have about a month to work out the specifics. Bonifacios tenure in Toronto ends. In a way, it doesnt feel as if his tenure really began. He struggled offensively and defensively out of the gate, never putting together consistently good at bats and failing to stake claim to second base, which could have been his. With just a .258 on-base percentage, Bonifacios speed was rendered irrelevant and a strength of his - the stolen base - never materialized. He was thrown out six times in only 18 attempts. "Its one of those things, I mean you try everything and stuff doesnt come your way," said Jose Reyes, one of Bonifacios good friends on the club. "Boni is a guy whos hard working. He comes here early everyday, working to try to get better. For him, hes the guy if hes going to play he needs to play everyday. As a baseball player, when people tell you this is your position and youre going to play everyday there that puts your confidence level up. Its hard when you come to the ballpark and you dont know if youre going to be in the lineup or where youre going to play. Thats just me talking." DRABEK PROMOTED TO BUFFALO Right-hander Kyle Drabek, building up arm strength as he recovers from a second Tommy John elbow ligament replacement surgery, has been promoted to the Triple-A Bisons. In 10 appearances, eight starts, at two minor league stops (Single-A Dunedin and Double-A New Hampshire,) Drabek has a 2.83 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings. Drabek joins one-time Blue Jays rotation mate Drew Hutchison with the Bisons. Hutchison, like Drabek, is recovering from Tommy John surgery and both are expected to return to the majors before the season ends.
