Thierry Henry caught up with West Hams signing of the summer Dimitri Payet to discuss his stellar first season in the Premier League. Cheap Redskins Jerseys . The Hammers travel to the King Power Stadium on Super Sunday looking to halt Leicester Citys charge for the Premier League title.Ahead of the game, Payet sat down with his compatriot, and Sky Sports pundit, Henry to discuss life in the Premier League, free-kicks, his return to the France national team and his long-term aspirations. Read on to discover what one of the current stars of the Premier League had to say to one of the all-time greats in a wide-ranging interview...HENRY: Id like to know what attracted you to the Premier League? Sky Sports Thierry Henry catches up with West Ham playmaker Dimitri Payet PAYET: I think it came from watching matches. When I was a Ligue 1 player and there were big games on, as they say here on a Sunday afternoon, you could see the stadiums and the atmosphere, it was amazing. I really wanted to experience it and thats exactly whats happening at the moment.HENRY: At the time (you signed for West Ham), I was surprised. With no disrespect to West Ham, of course, Id like to know if you had any offers from other clubs? Payet highlights his relationship with Slaven Bilic at Upton Park PAYET: Other clubs did get in contact, but it didnt go further than that. My choice was to come to West Ham, mainly because Id spoken to the manager. Speaking to the coach has been my number-one criterion at every club Ive played for to find out what he expects from me, how he will make me improve and that hell play me. Thierry Henry has praised Dimitri Payets performances for West Ham this season West Ham was the best choice for me on the back of my best season in Ligue 1. I dont think there was much room left for progress in Ligue 1. Id done almost everything there. Coming to England to play in a different league under a coach who already wanted me when he was at Besiktas... I understood that Id be an important player for him and a club like West Ham that, as you said, is not one of the biggest, was the best platform for me to continue my development. Mark Noble one of three players highlighted by Payet for their encouragement HENRY: At West Ham, I can see how the players look at you. They know perfectly well that you can make the difference and theyll defend for you. Are there any players like that who say such things to you?PAYET: Id say we have three of them here: (Cheikhou) Kouyate, (Angelo) Ogbonna, the centre-back, and (Mark) Noble. Strangely enough, its the guys who do the running. They run for you. Its strange, it puts pressure on me, but a positive type. I know that when he gives me the ball, he expects me to do something positive for the team. They relieve me of my defensive duties. Its a big statement of confidence for me and it shows they have faith in me.HENRY: Youve worked hard and youve made it back into the national team. How did it go with Didier (Deschamps), who I know well and I know what hes like? Dimitri Payet (L) joined up with the France squad for the recent friendlies with Russia and Netherlands PAYET: Yes, we explained a few things to each other. We hadnt seen each other or spoken in almost a year. We had a quick talk and he told me what he expected from me and thats what Im like. Im not speaking about being a starter or a substitute, but he at least made things clear. From that moment onwards, I felt good and in terms of the group, I was looked at differently because I was playing in the Premier League. What Ive been doing at West Ham didnt have the same impact as what I was doing at Marseille. I really felt that. HENRY: I have to speak to you about your free-kicks because you have your own technique. Did you have to work hard on it? Do you still work on it? Dimitri Payets exquisite free-kicks have been a trademark of his seamless adaptation to the Premier League PAYET: I worked on it, I worked on it until I scored the first one. When the first one went in, I stopped because I felt Id found the right technique. You already have the shot, its about the steps and the way you take it.As soon as I worked that out, I stopped and its been the same story since. Ive been taking two in training and before the match. Thats the difficulty with free-kicks as you get one, maybe two and thats why its tough. You have to score. Payet and Henry agree that once you have mastered the art of taking free-kicks, you should not over-practise them Im happy because free-kicks and set-pieces have become very important in football nowadays. Its another side to my game and Im happy about it.HENRY: What does the future hold for Dimitri Payet? Can you see yourself at West Ham in a year, two years or even three years? Are you here for the long term?PAYET: Yes, because I never could have imagined experiencing a year quite like this one. Things are going well and Im enjoying it. The team is good, we have a great coach and the fans are amazing, so I want to go far with this club because Im in this position thanks to them offering the best possible conditions for me to express myself on the pitch.Catch the full exclusive interview with Dimitri Payet, followed by live coverage of Leicester v West Ham, on Super Sunday, 12.30pm, Sky Sports 1 HD Also See: Sky Live: Leicester v West Ham West Hams striker shortlist Fantasy Six-A-Side Mersons predictions Redskins Jerseys China .com) - The disappointing Ottawa Senators hope to record consecutive wins for the first time since early November, as they visit the Boston Bruins on Friday for the opener of a home-and-home series. Then youve got to worry about the other up and coming teams in the two weaker divisions in the "Junior Circuit".TORONTO -- Patrick Patterson knows his role and, usually, its making an impact off the bench. But on Monday, the back-up forward got his first start since coming to Toronto two months ago and made the most of it, pouring in a season-high 22 points as the Raptors defeated New Orleans 108-101. "My role doesnt change whether its starting, or whether Im coming off the bench," said Patterson, who learned earlier in the day he would join the starting five in place of Amir Johnson, sidelined with a right ankle injury. "Setting screens, rebounding, shooting my shot, running the floor in transition and making my teammates better." Patterson, who came over to Toronto from the Sacramento Kings on Dec. 9 in a seven-player trade that sent Rudy Gay West, did all of that Monday in his first start in 30 games as a Raptor. He was a tidy 7-for-11 from the field -- including 3-for-5 from three-point range -- had six rebounds and added two assists. In his fourth season in the NBA, Patterson had 54 career starts, the majority with the Houston Rockets, coming into Monday night. He had started just six games this season, all with Sacramento. "Its all about making sure I have a positive role," Patterson said his rare start. Pattersons 22 points was one more than he had for the Kings against the Los Angeles Clippers Nov. 23. "Fifteen deep. Thats how we play. Thats how we role," starting point guard Kyle Lowry said of Pattersons ability to step into the line-up. "We won. Everybody stepped up." Lowry had another complete performance, scoring 19 points, doling out 12 assists and grabbing seven rebounds while DeMar DeRozan addded 22 points as the Raptors (27-24) snapped a two-game losing streak before a crowd of 17,596 at Air Canada Centre. Toronto, 8-2 at home since Jan. 1, plays seven of its next nine at Air Canada Centre. The Raptors host the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday in their final game before the All-Star break. "We want to get both wins at home, protect home court and go into the break with a great conscience and try to hit the stretch run running," Lowry said of the teams approach to this weeks two games. The Raptors squandered a 15-point lead in the second quarter to go into halftime tied at 49. They then built up an 18-point edge in the third but again saw the Pelicans (22-29) battle back. Tyreke Evans had a game-high 23 points and 10 assists to lead New Orleans. Anthony Davis added 19. New Orleans went on a 16-5 run over the opening 5:10 of the fourth quarter to cut the Toronto lead to 87-86. But the Raptors responded with an 11-3 run over the next 2:30 to pull away for the victory. "For whatever reason, we are losing our leads with our second unit," said Raptors head coach Dwane Casey. "What its doing is putting a lot of pressure on our starters and them in big minute situations." DeRozan logged 40:21 and Lowry put in 38:48 to lead in court time among all players. "Taking Patrick Patterson off the second unit hurts them a bit," Casey said. "But still we have to get a rhythm with that second unit so we can rest our starters." https://www.wholesalejerseysfreest.com/" class="TyTxtSmlC">Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jerseys From China Wholesale NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys ' ' '
