MONTREAL -- Fresh from a big CONCACAF Champions League win, the Montreal Impact hope to carry that momentum into an important Major League Soccer matchup in Chicago. Black Friday Michael Kors Handbags UK . Newcomer Hernan Bernardello was strong in his Impact debut as Montreal beat the San Jose Earthquakes 1-0 on Wednesday night at Saputo Stadium in their first Champions League game in five years. The Impact, however, have just one win in their last seven MLS games, including a 3-1 loss in Washington, D.C., last Saturday. Now that Montreal is on the right track in the tournaments group stage, midfielder Patrice Bernier hopes that solid effort will continue against the Fire on Saturday night. "Its a boost for the teams morale and confidence," Bernier said. "It was a solid game and we needed to get back to basics and now we have that good base to attack the MLS every game. All of the games count all the time but now that the standings are so tight we know that we have to get our points." Those points have been hard to come by lately for the Impact. Montreal has six points in its last seven games (1-3-3), three of those coming in a 1-0 win over Sporting Kansas City on July 27 when substitute Blake Smith scored in stoppage time. The skid has dropped the Impact out of the Eastern Conference lead to third place, with a 10-6-5 mark and 35 points in 21 games. Montreal trails first-place New York by three points and second-place Kansas City by one, but the Impact hold two games in hand on both teams. "Were going to Chicago, a team thats playing well and they have the offensive abilities that make the difference so were heading there with clear heads and ready to attack and come out of there with as many points as possible," Bernier said. The Fire, who have also played 21 games, have climbed to seventh in the East after struggling to a 2-7-1 start that included a 2-0 loss in Montreal on Apr. 27. In contrast to the Impact, Chicago enters riding a hot streak in MLS play but is coming off a disappointing loss Wednesday night. The Fire were eliminated from the U.S. Open Cup following a 2-0 semifinal loss to D.C. United at Toyota Park. "I think at this point theyre a different team, were a different team," Fire assistant coach Mike Matkovich said. "Theyre in the same boat as us so its just going to be a matter of digging down deep and getting through this game and weve got to find a way to get points. Chicagos season turned around after they acquired Mike Magee from Los Angeles on May 24. "Theyve started slow this year but theyre a talented team," said Impact forward Justin Mapp, who played for the Fire from 2003-10. "I know some of their players and the addition of Mike Magee certainly helped them and theyve kind of caught their stride. Theyve had a number of good results in the last number of games. Its a tough place to play." Magee, who leads the MLS with 14 goals, came to Chicago in the trade that sent the rights to Robbie Rogers to the Galaxy. Rogers became the first openly gay man to play for a top-level North American pro sports team when he made his L.A. debut on May 27. While that milestone made headlines, the Fires acquisition of Magee paid immediate dividends. He has scored eight goals in 10 league games with Chicago, including each one in each of his last three games. The Fire are undefeated over that stretch with two wins and a draw, including a 2-1 win in Philadelphia. Chicago is coming off the U.S. Open Cup loss though, and midfielder Logan Pause is not putting a lot of stock into the Impacts recent MLS struggles. "Theyre a dangerous team," Pause said. "They won the Canadian championship and theyre playing in CONCACAF. Theyre a good team from Di Vaio all the way down. "Theyve got a lot of experience, a lot of seasoned veterans and were looking to pay them back after a tough result we faced in Montreal earlier in the year. And of course theyre a conference opponent that were trying to catch in the table." Authentic Michael Kors Black Friday UK . The Habs open up the 2013-2014 NHL season at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs on October 1 and even though camp doesnt start until September 11, all players were on hand with the exception of Tomas Plekanec and Davis Drewiske. MK Black Friday UK . Kingsbury, from Deux-Montagnes, Que., won gold with a score of 26.93, while Bilodeau, from Montreal, took silver with 26.54. Japans Sho Endo (25.24) placed third. http://www.mksale2016uk.eu/ . Marie Greyhounds centre Jared McCann is the big mover this month, jumping into the top ten of the International Scouting Services prospect rankings for December. OTTAWA -- Mika Zibanejad has no intention of taking anything for granted. The Ottawa Senators recalled the 20-year-old from Binghamton of the American Hockey League Tuesday and he knows he has a lot to prove if he intends on staying in Ottawa. Zibanejad had been expected to make the team out of camp, but after failing to live up to expectations was returned to the AHL. The demotion was surprising considering how well Zibanejad had played last season, but in some ways the Senators felt the young prospect allowed himself to become too complacent. At the end of training camp Senators general manager Bryan Murray said, "The other guys stepped up way above him in camp, and he didnt do anything about it." Zibanejad was told his level of play allowed two others players to steal his job. Harsh words, but they resonated with Zibanejad. "You dont want to take anything for granted, but I was hoping to build off the things I did last year and the season I came from," said Zibanejad. "To get that message and reaction from them was an eye-opener for me, but apparently it was a good thing and I feel like Im back on track and where Im supposed to be at so hopefully I can just keep going here." After being sent down Zibanejad was determined to prove he belonged in the NHL. "When something like that happens you want to prove them wrong, but I tried not to think about it too much. I thought about playing hard and doing the stuff they wanted me to work on. I hope I took it the right way." Through Binghamtons first six regular-season games Zibanejad has two goals and five assists to lead the team in scoring. Last season the 62", 211-pound native of Huddinge, Sweden, finished fourth among Senators in scoring with 20 points (seven goals, 13 assists) in 42 regular-season games with Ottawa. "I had a pretty good talk with Luke (Richardson) when I got there the first day," said Zibanejad, referring to the former NHLer who now coaches Binghamton. Michael Kors Black Friday UK. "He understood the situation and he helped me a lot through this time and his message was to play and not worry about it too much. All I can control is my play and how I react to it and I think that helps a lot that you get that talk and that confidence from him." Zibanejad was recalled as a precaution as Jean-Gabriel Pageau has a minor injury and the Senators didnt want to find themselves short-handed as they prepare to face the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. It appears Zibanejad will centre the fourth line between Derek Grant and Erik Condra if line combinations from Tuesdays practice are any indication. While MacLean wouldnt confirm that Zibanejad would play Wednesday he did say they were considering it and when asked what the young centre needed to do to earn playing time MacLean was clear. "He has to play good," said MacLean. "We made the call down there and said whos the best player and they said it was Mika. Before that it was Derek Grant. Mikas been their best player and now we want him to come up and play with speed, play with energy, use his size and shoot the puck and just do the things that he does to be successful and if he does those things consistently he can stay in the lineup and ultimately in the National Hockey League." Zibanejad feels hes benefited from his time in Binghamton and is hopeful he can find similar success in the NHL. "I hope I built something down in Binghamton and I just have to keep building on it," said Zibanejad. "Keep shooting, keep skating and competing hard. I think that was the biggest message going down was compete and be hard on the puck and play like I can and I should and I think I did that and Im ready to take it to the next level."
